Ordinarily, I would laugh at Kasey being in trouble, but this morning there was no laughing. Here's what happened. He was working on His computer. He is getting ready to show the world His project and everything is very serious. He really does not have time for a bad thumb or a bad cat. He was almost finished with a long letter to one of His project people, when Kasey stepped on His keyboard and everything disappeared. I bet Uncle John and Aunt Heather could hear him yelling all the way at their house. We could all hear him just fine here at our house, and He didn't care. He was using a lot of naughty words. He tried to use Her computer, but He couldn't remember how to get to His messages on it, and He was even angrier, because the letters are mostly all worn off Her keyboard. Finally She sat down and rewrote the letter for Him and He started to calm down. She says He is working on keeping His temper. Remember when we talked about frustrating things? He is usually getting better until something like this happens. Kasey did not try to go back into His office all day, and we hope He forgets how mad He was by the time He gets back from the doc tomorrow. I think this will be a busy week, so I'm prepared for lots of bad words.
All of this excitement has made Her too lazy to fix dinner, so She is calling the Chinese people to bring it here all ready to eat. It's OK with me, because they put shrimp in it. I will check back with you tomorrow. Ah-di-ose.

Chopping Cats
Every week, He fixes salad for His lunch. He fixes sandwiches, too. Ever since She first knew Him, She couldn't imagine eating a week-old sandwich or salad. I guess humans have strong feelings about things like that. She tried to talk him out of it, but it is what He likes, so She says as long as She doesn't have to eat it, let Him do what He likes. Here's the problem. Now that He has His thumb in a big bandage, He can't chop up the stuff for His salads. Well, Kate, Kasey and I don't have thumbs, either, so guess who had to do the chopping. Did you guess Her? Then you are right. We know She used to be an excellent cook, so it should not be too hard for her, especially with three cats watching. Since She can't stand very long, She fixed a place at the table with that big plastic kind of thing, and He brought over the vegetables. Here is what She cut up. Onion, hot pepper, regular pepper, carrots, cucumber, celery, tomatoes and lettuce. Then the kind of white cheese went in, and then They mixed together some liquids in a bottle and poured it all together. Lucky They have an enormous bowl. He used His good hand to mix it all together, and She put it into glass jars. All He has to do is to reach in the refrigerator and take a jar out each day. She is so knackered right now. Kate, Kasey and I are laughing. It is funny when you know there are two things about cooking that She doesn't like - now or ever. One is peeling things, and the other is chopping things. Ha ha ha. So long for now.

Ordinary Cats
This is the kind of day it was. Ordinary. Nobody got up too early, People had time to play with their cats. Nobody was shouting - except maybe Kasey and Kate, but that is ordinary, too. Nobody had to go see the doc, and nobody was hurting too much. It seems as if it has been a long time since we had an ordinary day. I am enjoying it, personally, and not even interested in hissing at Kate. The doc called on the telephone to see how He felt after the operation on His thumb, which He and She thought was very nice. Now They have to go back to see the doc in a few days. She says it is going to rain tomorrow, so that is even better, because rain makes us feel cozy, unless there is a lot of noisy thunder.
You would think, after He hurt His thumb, that his project would fall behind, but He has found other people to work on getting it ready to show to those who might be customers. Even that is ordinary feeling, because he is doing it all nice and calm. She didn't get mad at the politics today. I wonder how She managed that. I think She just turned it off and watched Her new DVD about Her beloved Eddie.
I hope we get more days like this, now that we know his thumb will be OK. I doesn't hurt that tonight's menu has shrimp. That is better than ordinary. Sy-o-nara.

Relieved Cats
This was an unusual day. To start with, She got up really early. I don't remember when She ever got up before daylight, but today She did. So did He. They didn't eat anything and they went away in Her car. Kasey and I were quite nervous about that, and wondered if They would come back. It was a really long time before we heard Her car come into the garage, which is where They keep the cars, and we were so relieved. He had on a giant bandage on His arm where His accident was, and She was limping very much. She fussed at Him to get into bed, and He was glad to do that. She told me that His thumb was fixed, and the doc explained to Her what he had done to His hand and arm. She was chuffed at a surprise that the doc tole Her about. He and She thought the piece of His thumb that was called a tendon was gone for good, and His thumb would never bend. Well, the doc was glad to find the broken part of that thing and attach it to the right place. Do you know what that means? His thumb will work just right. The doc put the feeling back in. and the blood thing back in, and says He will be good as new. She was so tired that She fell asleep watching the news. Her heart was light, because Cleo'sMom and Cleo'sGirl came to keep Her company at the doc's, and they brought Her some coffee-the-drink. She said it tasted like angels made it. They brought some things for Him to eat on the way home, too.
We are so relieved that it turned out like this, because We cats know what it is like to not have a thumb. Everybody is feeling so much better at the end of this peculiar day. Bye for now.

Tension Cats
You know, She will be so happy when his thumb is fixed tomorrow, and so will we. He found out He passed his tests that He had yesterday, but today another doc called and asked a bunch of the same questions. Can you guess if He liked that? If you think He did, you really don't know Him all that well. She told me that if She weren't going to see Her beloved Crones tonight She isn't sure She would last until tomorrow morning. I think that is a joke. At least I hope it is. Kate and I will be glad to see Her go, because you can see He is wearing Her out. And take my advice - don't call Her up very late tonight, because She has to leave very early to get him to the doc. Another thing that will cheer Her up is that the nice lady who asks Her questions is coming over. They go to the beloved Crones together, and She will be so chuffed to see her.
Things were going along fine with Kate and me. Kate is still jealous, but we don't fight anymore. We pretend to fight, and sometimes hiss, but we can lie around together, and relax. It is very nice to relax. I don't like to be a tension cat. It makes me all tuckered out. Nighty night.

Up and Down Cats
There were some up things that made us happy, and there were some down things that made us a little sad. The sad things were still about His poor, sore thumb. He had to go to see the doc today, where they tested his heart and breathing and his blood. He does not have patience for things like that and so He was not His best self. But there were up things that gave Her a lot of cheerfulness. It made Her chipper to have the visit to the doc done with. Then Smudge'sMom came over with a friend. They brought Her some very pretty things to eat, which made Her quite chuffed. But then, S'sM gave Her a book from the night they went to see and hear Her Italian Boys. To Her, it is a treasure of great value. If She couldn't see Her boys in person, She can look at their cute faces in the book. As if that isn't enough, She got the DVD of Her beloved Eddie in the mail. She is surrounded by love today. It is very nice to see Her so happy, since She has been pretty bummed about Him getting hurt. There is another cheerful thing. She will be able to go and visit with Her Crones tomorrow. She wasn't sure if She would have to stay home with Him. Kasey and Kate and I will look after Him while She sees Her friends. You know, She is pretty lucky. She has the best cats, the best friends and the best grandchildren in the whole world. I'll bid you chow for now. It is what Her Italian Boys would say.

Cats and Thumbs
For a long time, I wished that I had a couple of thumbs. I could get my own treats that way and I could pick up my toys. Today I am very glad I don't have even one thumb, because I could be in trouble with mine, just like He is in trouble with His. Today it was a visit with a different doc. This one says he can fix His thumb until it is almost like new. First, He has to go to His regular doc and get checked to make sure He is healthy enough to have this work done. If you know him, you know that he has a breathing thing that sounds worse than it is. He is kind of mad that He has to wait, but She understands. Not that it matters to Him. He just wants it done. They will take the skin off one of His fingers to cover His bad thumb. Then they will take skin from His arm to put on His finger where they take the skin off. If that sounds like a puzzle to you, it has me ready to go and hide in the clothes basket. It is a good thing I am here to keep Her nice and snuggled, because whatever is hard on Him is hard on Her. Well, She will be sure He gets to where He needs to go, and when She gets home She will get plenty of snuggles from me and Kate. Kasey doesn't care. TTYL

Emergency Cats
It was a perfectly lovely day and She was thinking about what we would have for our dinner. That's when the emergency happened. I knew about emergencies before, but this was worse than when She falls down. He came in from the garage and there was blood splurting everywhere. I went and got into the clothes basket because emergencies are very scary. She gave him a towel to put on His hand and got ready to take Him to the place where docs take care of emergencies. She didn't see what was wrong, only that there was a lot of blood all over the place. The towel was on the hand that He writes with. He couldn't button His shirt, and She was shaking very much, but finally two buttons got closed so His belly didn't show at the doc's. They were gone a long time, and when They came home, His thumb was all covered in a bandage. It looked as if She was the emergency one, She was so knackered. She went and got Him some medicine, and told Smudge'sMom and Sabra'sPeople that They had more docs to see and couldn't come and have fun with them. I was worried that She was so sad, but then She told Him that this accident put an end to all His hitchhiking forever. He and She laughed at that, but I don't know why it was funny, and I'm not going to ask Her tonight. I'll let you know how it all works out. Cheers.

Frustration Cats
Do you know what frustration is? Neither did I, until today. As much as She loves being with Her friends and family, I like it when She stays home. Today was not a good example of what I mean, because of frustration. It means when everything you try doesn't work and you start running out of things to try. When it happens to Him, He yells bad words at the computer. She didn't yell bad words, but She did yell. I came in when She said if I owed them money they could sure find my account number. You see, there is a place where He and She buy the electricity that runs everything here. They sent a message saying that She should sign up and that would save some money. Well, you know Her. Those are magic words! So She went to sign up. Nothing that She put into the computer got Her anyplace. They didn't know Her name or anything. After a bunch of tries, She called on the telephone. That was the same thing. She gave them all the numbers about Her, all the numbers about Him, and they didn't know her account. That's when the yelling happened. She took some deep breaths and tried one more thing. You could talk to a real person on line. If words on a computer could yell, She yelled at the lady. The lady said she would help. After answering the same questions, She got the lady to tell Her what She needed to save the money. She stopped being mad, and told the lady how nice she was to help Her. The problem was solved. We got a cookie and went to watch TV. Emergency over. She is not scary when She is mad, but I'm glad She wasn't mad at me! AH-dyoo, amis.

Calendar Cats
On this desk, next to Her computer, there is a little book which She calls a calendar. It is divided into little boxes, and when She has something to do on a certain day, She writes it in a little square in the book. Today it said J@Ap 11:30. It is a kind of code. I told Her I was puzzled, and She explained. It means I am having a meeting with Hana'sGran, and it says where and what time. I know that She was especially chuffed today, and now I knew why. The signal for Hana'sGran is J, and the signal foor Smudge'sMom is L. The squares now are at the bottom of the page, and it is almost full. When it has a name and just a number, that could be somebody's birthday. It is a good thing to have these codes, because She is a very good forgetter. There are little, tiny machines that some of Her friends have, and they keep track of their meetings on those. Looking at the little squares is no trouble for Her, and She says it doesn't cost so much money. If I learn any more of Her codes, I will let you know, because She says it isn't a secret .
I am very excited for the days when She meets with Hana'sGran. She tells Him she is going for friend-therapy when they have a meeting. They always go to the same place and they get good things to eat. She brought home a box of the food that She didn't finish, and that will be our dinner. I'll bet you six kibbles that I will like it, too. Later, Gator.

Named Cats
Today we were talking about our names. Of course all of us had names when we came to live with them, but She didn't like my name that my first family gave me. It was Hank. She said that She didn't see a Hank when She looked at me. What She saw was something She loved very much, which is how I got the name Coffee. She said I looked like coffee-the-drink with cream in it, so I became Coffee Cat, and She has loved me just a little bit extra with that name. He and She did not change Kasey's name, although She has thought it is a nice, friendly name, and Kasey is not a nice, friendly cat. I think Kasey would have preferred the name Empress. Kasey is close in sound to Katie, which is what the people next door named their cat. When she came to live here, the two names were so much alike that we called Katie Kate. Here is a funny thing about that. It turns out Kate is a kind of cat name a Russian Blue. He said she should have a Russian name. Then She said Kate is short for Cat-therine the Great. who was a famous Russian lady. I like the name Kate, and I like the name Coffee. It suits me, because She loves me as much as the kind of coffee She drinks. That is a lot of love, from what I can see. If I weren't Coffee, I would want to be named Rumpleteaser.
Pink fish for dinner, so you can call me Happy. (snerk). Bye for now.

Back Again Cat
It was a madhouse around here yesterday evening, so I didn't get here in time to write my story before She shut everything off. I guess that's OK, because there was not much new with us cats. One step forward, one surprise attack. Today it was different. There is a place where She and Her pals used to go, which is a long drive from here. She went there a lot with Rocky'sMom, and today the two of them went back. Both of them are too lame to walk all the way around the park, but they did walk a little, sat on a bench and enjoyed the pretty scenery and the nice people. Then they got hungry and found a place with good things to eat. She told me it was such good food that it should be illegal to sell it. She brought some home, so I will check it for you. They used to visit the stores there. She says there are stores that sell really old things. Don't ask me why anyone wants to buy old things, but humans never stop surprising me. It was a beautiful day for this little trip, and it gave me time to be sure to come tell my story. I guess it was a success all around. I hope everyone had such a nice day. I hear Kate coming, so I will get into pouncing position. Bye.

Kate the Cat
I wasn't that interested in Kate's story, but She told me my readers would be interested. If you are - good. If you are not - blame Her. Anyway, the lady next door found Kate in a dumpster. Someone had thrown her away. That makes Her very sad, and I don't like it, either. Kate lived next door for a long time. Kate loved her family, especially the boy and girl. She didn't like their dog, though, and spent lots of time outside or in the garage. She was always Friends with Him and Her, and came to see Them every day. Sometimes Kate came in the house, but she never did stay too long. One day, Kate'sMom had to move away. I think she wanted Him and Her to take care of Kate until she found a place to live. Naturally, She said fine, only we would not let Kate outside if she stayed here. We all thought that would give Kate a problem, but she has never tried to get out - not even once. I think I know why. In the summer it is nice and cool inside our house. There are a bunch of soft places to sleep in. He gives her food and water every day, and keeps Kate's litter nice and clean. Kate is very particular about that. When He has fish in a can, He gives Kate some. One problem is that Kate loves getting pets, and She gives good pets. It is kind of too bad that Kate is jealous of me, because I like Her pets, as well. Of course, every day it gets a little better. Except for Kasey. Kasey does not like Kate, and yows her face off if they have to be together. You know Kasey. So that's the story of Kate. If She is right, you like that story. If not - well - I'll be back tomorrow. Chow.

Three Cats
After Kasey and I left the esspeeceeay, we have been perfectly happy here with Them. We knew what to expect every day, and had a cozy place to go when something strange would happen. A visitor, a thunderstorm, you know - scary things. We even had our Uncle John to come and stay with us when They went away, and we love our Uncle John and Aunt Heather. I'll tell you how good Aunt Heather is, She got Kasey to frolic and play, and get pets. No one else but her, and Him of course, would let that happen. For a while there, it seemed as if it was spoiled when Kate came here to live with us. We didn't need another sister, and Kate didn't like us very much. It seems as if it is OK now, although our routines have changed a little. She is very proud of me for the way I was patient with Kate. She told me that it was the same when She was a little kid. She lived in Her Grandma's house, and loved it there, but every so often, someone would need a place to stay and so everyone moved their stuff around and went on with the new routines. She did not feel scared, like I do, but it made her not like changing routines very much. I am old, now, Cofs, she tells me, and I get set in my ways. I have to laugh at that. She changes Her ways whenever She feels like it. She says if She could stand having Her drunk uncle stay there, we can do fine with three cats. I'll think about that. Aloha.

Not Much Day
This may be a short story, because not much happened today. It was a quiet, rainy-type day, and He and She didn't go out anyplace. We did get some organizing done with the presents closet, and She is surprised with how much She has - ready to give away. Speaking of giving away, She was also organizing the bag of things to give the poor people. They are coming next week to collect things, and He and She will have the bag ready in plenty of time. She promised me She would be careful and not put any cats in the bag. She said the poor people surely don't need cats. She ordered some more fish from the fish people, so that makes Him very happy. I'm kind of glad about it myself. She is chuffed to do something nice for Him, because He brought Her a big bunch of flowers. They look very nice, and Kate said they taste good, too. Another thing He did was to go and get Her a pizza for our dinner. She said She would forgive Him if He ran off with a super-model, as long as He came back with flowers and pizza. I'm not sure what that means, but I believe it is a joke.
Well, I'm going to lick the top off some of that pizza, so I'll say goodby.

Comforting Cats
Today She needed a lot of comforting. It is because of what happened with the little dog. On the way to Rocky'sMom's house, She saw a little dog. It was just a little bigger than me, She told me, and the dog looked as if it were lost. It was not a good time to pick up this little dog, because She had some plans to do, first. When I come back, She thought to Herself, I will get this dog into the car, and put it in our backyard. Then I can make some signs that that say I found a little dog. If the dog is in the backyard, it won't bother us, She explained, because we tend to get anxious when there is a dog inside. As She and Rocky'sMom went about their business, She kept thinking about the little dog. On the way home She saw something in the street. She could not believe Her eyes. It was the little dog, and it had been hit by a car. You can't believe how sad it made Her. She said it was as if it was Her dog. AND Her fault for leaving the little dog behind when She first saw it. A good way to get the hurt out is to tell someone about it, so She told some of Her good friends - which includes Kasey, Kate and me. There is this thing She used to hear every Sunday. It was A joy shared is a joy doubled and a sorrow shared is a joy cut in half. I really want Her to feel better, so I will get up on Her lap and tell Her there there in purrs. Bye for now.

Nice, Dry Cats
The nice weather ended today with a big bunch of rain. She and Rocky'sMom were planning to go on a long ride to a kind of country-place where they used to go long ago. With all the rain, they decided to not go so far, and went to a place that is closer, and which She loves. She used to go there with Her beloved Crones and everyone liked it. She goes there sometimes with Cleo'sMom, and it was just fine. As usual, She brought home a box with her leftover lunch, and She planned to have it for Her dinner. I was fine with that, because it has gravy. Next thing you know, He decides not to go on His visit with other airplane model makers, and She thinks She should fix dinner for Him. Oh, and that gravy smells so good, too. But She is relieved He won't be out in the storms.
The guy who brings the mail to our house is a really kind man. He knows we are old here at our house, and so he brings the mail right up to the door. That way, He doesn't have to go out in the rain. She says every time She gets sad and disappointed with people, along comes a nice guy like that, and you have to smile and feel better. It is nicer around here when She smiles, you know. I always know how to make Her smile. I'll give you a hint: snug*les. Toodle Pip.

Bright Side Cats
We are looking on the bright side today, because She is in jolly spirits. I believe it is because She had lunch with Her beloved Crones. They heard about Sabra'sMom's boat ride. S'sM likes boat rides, and looks forward to them. She had more fun than He and She had on their ride, and wants to go more times. I think She is happy for them, because She says that by Him and Her not going, it leaves more space for Sabra'sPeople.
She told Him that She didn't eat very much that was good for Her, but She had a brilliant time. It kind of polishes Her heart to be with these fine ladies. Everyone should be lucky enough to have friends they can depend on, like that. It makes Her feel comfy to know that She could call any one of them if She needed something, and there they would be. I feel like that about Her, even if I have to stay in the bedroom and not be friends with Kate. You know who really doesn't like Kate? It is Kasey. Kasey growls when Kate comes near, and yows if she gets too close. He reminded us that Kasey used to do that to me. I had almost forgotten that.
There is excellent news about dinner. Even though She had a nice lunch, She is still willing to fix fish for our dinner. I am chuffed. I must go find Her and give Her some snuggles. TTYL

Kindly Cats
Kasey is not the most kindly cat in the world, but she is like me when I feel kindly toward Her. Do you know, ever since She went on that boat ride, She has been acting as if She is old. I have known all along that She was old, and I don't see any reason why She didn't notice it before. She told me She would work on being chipper and more fun. I'll remind Her every day. One thing She is not interested in is for people and cats not to feel sorry for themselves. Count your blessings, She says. I'll tell Her to do that Her own self.
When we watched the news, the guy said it is going to start raining tomorrow. There goes the nice weather. I think the temperature will stay a little lower, but it won't be nice and dry in the air. We cats don't care so much about that, but He and She will probably have something to say. She will be working on not feeling so old, so that means going out to lunch with lively people.
She had company today. It was a nice lady who has been here before. Well, Kate decided to be so cute and snuggle up to the lady. I don't know who Kate thinks she is, but I wish she would be that nice with us. I'm going back to my closet for a nap. I got really tired playing with Her. So O-ree-vwar for now.

Weather Cats
Since none of us cats goes outside, you would expect that we wouldn't know much about the weather. As much as I hate to tell you you're wrong, we have learned to tell a lot about what goes on outside. First of all, there is no humming from the cooling machine when it is not 80 degrees. We can tell when that machine goes on and off. We had to figure that out a long time ago. Then we can tell when He goes out for the paper in the morning, and to feed the birds. When it is cool, he puts on a shirt and shoes. Usually he goes out barefoot, and with nothing on but his work shorts. No matter how hot it is, She always has clothes and shoes on. And then there is just a feeling around here. When it starts to get cool, She feels sad about missing Her work at school, and even more sad that it is so hard for her to get around. She is glad Mazie doesn't have to come over, because She can't play with her. But then She stops being sad and gets excited for all the stuff that happens in cool weather. I don't have the heart to tell Her it isn't going to last. Where we live, it stays very hot until time for trick or treat. This is just a preview, I'm sure. We are going to enjoy it while it is more cool and dry, and not worry about the hot coming back.
Now I have to go help Her make dinner. We are making soup tonight, because it is cool right now. Soup is a cool weather kind of food. Her soup is kind of good, though, if you let it get cool. Toodles.

Proud Cats
Everyone who lives here is proud of LW'sMom. She went back to school to learn how to be a minister. He and She didn't think LW'sM had to learn very much, because they knew she had all the skills. Well, now she has to go to prove her skills to some important people, and He and She don't worry for a second that she will be the best they ever heard. I am not sure, but I think this is the last hoop she has to jump through before she can say she is a minister. LW'sMom has been working on this since before LW was born. Then came LW's sickness, so finishing that schooling was never easy. He and She have special feelings about LW'sMom, so They are covering her with love and energy.
We are also proud of Him, because He went on a long ride in the car to meet with some people about His project. She thought about going along, but thought it would slow Him down. She doesn't move around very well, remember.
She is also proud of me. I am coming out of the bedroom farther and farther, and Kate and I are not fighting - just a few hisses and snarls. Sometimes we lie in the same room and relax. She can't wait until we go back to how we used to be. Give us time, we ask Her.
He won't be home for His dinner tonight, so She is fixing a sandwich with some of that nice bacon. I'll enjoy a little taste of that. Cheers, everyone.

Put Off Cats
Sometimes Kasey, Kate and I know we have things to do. We have to get pets, wash all over, and help Them around the house. We mean to do it. We really do, but sometimes we just put it off. Maybe we need to search under everything for a toy, and once we find it, we have to play with it. Every so often, it gets late in the day, and we have put everything off until it is time to watch TV, have a nap, or have some kibbles. We never get in trouble for putting things off, though, because She understands. When She makes Her to-do list, She has every intention of starting right in. First, though, She has to read the paper and have some coffee-the-drink. She comes into Her workroom, and decides to check Her messages before She starts. It is very likely She will have to stop and play with Kate, who follows Her everywhere. Kasey has gone to help Him, so She decides it is a good time to play with me. Next thing you know, it is lunchtime and She turns on the TV to watch while She eats. There goes that hour. She knows She will be sad if She doesn't do some work, so She starts sorting, or decluttering or arranging, and the next thing you know, She has to think about getting dinner ready. Sometimes, if there is an emergency, like something She has to order, that about does it for the day. We shake our heads and wonder how She ever went to work. I guess She is like me, thinking we can do that tomorrow. She and I are extremely talented at putting things off. Odd-you for now, mes amis.

One Step Cats
I did not know what He meant when He would say one step forward, two steps back. It seemed kind of funny to me. Was He talking about how to dance? She tried to help me understand. When you have a goal, or a project, you would like it to go forward. Step, step , step. Life isn't like that, Cofs, She said. When you get the idea, that's a step forward. When others don't understand, that's two steps back. Then you go three steps forward and find out you need more money. That's two steps back. Little by little you make some progress. Sometimes you are almost there, and you find out someone didn't do what he said, and you go back a few steps. By the time She got finished explaining all this, I wondered how anything ever got done. She told me not everything is like that, though. Sometimes you don't start working on your idea until everything is lined up. We have to remember that He doesn't do it that way. His best thing is getting ideas. The rest is one step forward, two steps back.
I get it now. That's how it is working with Kate and me. She and I can lie around and relax, then one of us charges at the other. Well, the yowing has stopped - that's a step forward. I still don't want to come out of the bedroom when Kate is there. That's two steps back. Every day She tells me let's be patient. It all works out fine in the end. I hope She is right. Chow, bellas.

Demo-Cats
With all the fuss on TV and the computer about elections, I got a bit curious. I already told Her I didn't much care, as long as I got my kibbles. She said that was not a good attitude. That I should study the issues and decide whose side I was on. From what I have heard so far, it seems that the guys who want to be elected can get kind of mean, and I don't like that. Neither do He and She like it. I can't help them think of a better way to do it - what do I know? I'm a cat. I also know that it is in my best interest to like the guy He and She like, because they are pretty fussy about that. One thing She says is that people choose according to what they are interested in. Since it is in my best interest to like the guy that can give me the best chance of getting plenty of kibbles, I see why they want me to go with the one who wants Them to keep Their pay that They get every month. I don't like the cat doc, but They like to see Their doc without paying a bunch of money. OK, I'm convinced. I'm going for the guy with the black and white dog. Of course I wish he would get a cat, but I'll tell him that after he gets the job. TTYL.

Quiet Cats
Excuse me for yawning. It has been that kind of day. She slept so long I thought She was in one of those comas that were on TV last night. A big box came for Her in the middle of the night, and when She opened it, she told Him well, this finishes my Christmas shopping. That only gives Her three months to sort it all out. She is giving fewer presents to some people this year. You can't tell it by the piles of stuff in Her gift-closet, though. I guess She was feeling rich, then, because She ordered a thing called a Nature Box, which is supposed to contain snacks that are good for you. Since She is a major snack person, it may turn out to be a wise thing. I'll tell you when it comes. If Her shopping is all done, I feel sorry for the catalog people, who will be wasting their time ending Her those big stacks of catalogs.
Even though She is trying to back away from all the politics, She listened to a speech be the President's wife and She really liked it. I still think we will watch a movie tonight instead of the politics.
I have to go and help with dinner now, while Kate is asleep under the desk. So long.

Welcome Cats
Today Rocky'sMom got home from her long, long trip, and there will be some catching up for Her and R'sM. While that family was gone, He and She took in some packages that the delivery guy brought, and they are here in our house. I guess Rocky'sBoy will come to get them to take home. She has known Rocky'sBoy since he was a kid in school. Now he is a nice grown-up man and he turned out just fine.
Another welcome thing was that He got a good report from his doc about the sugar in His blood. I don't know how the sugar gets in there, but it is bad for Him when He has too little or too much. He has to check it every day, and then go to the doc. She is chuffed when He gets a good report.
She said it was a welcome sight this morning when I wandered out into the hall. Since He sprays this new stuff, I am a little more brave. Kate chased me, but she didn't yow or biff. It was almost like playing.
I got close enough to the kitchen to sniffle some fish kind of thing for our dinner. He and I just love fish. I will wait patiently. TaTa for now.

Laboring Cats
Today is one of those days that humans have. It is a day when a lot of people get off from their work to honor hard workers and these things called Unions. It turns out that once the people who owned the companies wanted people to work a very long time without a rest. They even got little kids to do hard work. If you didn't like it, the boss would say, OK, go on home, I'll give your job to someone else. Since workers needed the money, they had to put up with it. They didn't get much money, either. Some mart people got the idea that if a big bunch of the workers said they were upset, and did it all at once, the bosses would have to listen or they would stop working. At our house, we think that is a wonderful plan. That's because we are the workers. If we were the rich bosses we would have been mad because they outsmarted us. By joining together - I guess that's why they called it a union - they forced the bosses to give them the weekends off. They made them agree to a fair kind of pay, and my favorite part is that they had to promise not to let little kids work anymore. Being a kid is hard enough without having to go to a job. I'll bet they even had the cats catching mice and didn't pay them a single kibble. Once a year, they take a day to appreciate what the Unions did..Not everyone gets the day off, because then the workers wouldn't have a place to go on their honor day. Movies, eating places, store - all stay open to help the workers. Since He and She are not workers any more, it could be just another day for them, but They remember when They were working people, and they stop and appreciate the workers, too. All of that learning about this day has me worn out. I'm off for a nap. Bye.

Stuffed Cats
This is what happens when They go to have dinner with Cleo'sPeople. They give us a lot of food to last until they come home. So here we were, computer turned off so I couldn't write my story, and nothing to do but eat eat eat. Kate likes to come in and eat some of our food, although there is plenty of food in her dish. Then she drinks our water, even though she has her own water machine. Kate feels as if she should go anyplace she wants, which makes Her wonder why Kasey and I don't do that. I wish I knew the answer to that. Anyway, He and She went to have dinner with Cleo'sFamily. Everyone was there, and there was plenty of food. There was a salad, and She told me She would like a salad like that every day. She said it had too many kinds of things in it to name, and it was the best salad She had in a long time. Cleo'sDad made the main dinner, with vegetables and nice, tender meat. The people know He can't eat all kinds of white food, so they had everything He could eat. The food was great She said, but the best part was the talking. All of them are good talkers, so They got to talk and talk and talk. It is good that it was an easy day today. I think that stuff they spray might do some good, so maybe I'll get to tell you that things are going well, cat-wise, one of these days. Right now, I'll send you some purrs for good luck. Cheerio.
