It isn't so much that this is one of those special days, the humans always have. It is more the night adventures. This is the last day of the year, which They have figured out, and so They will stay awake and drink some sparkling juice and have a nice smooch. They have done this ever since They have been together. Long ago, She says, They sometimes went to parties, but now Her best thing is staying home. Since it was Cleo'sGirl's birthday today, They did go away for a lovely dinner with special dessert, but that was earlier, and They got home before it was really night. C'sG liked her present, but She just knew she would. Anyway, when we wake up tomorrow, it will be a whole different year. People are shooting fireworks, and She is glad it is kind of rainy, so the fireworks don't set our house on fire. She does not like fireworks, and neither do Kasey, Kate and I.
On another note, She is a little sad that I told you all a fib. She says She knows I didn't teach those boys to sing like cats. I knew you would know it, too. It was just a kind of joke. There is a kind of story called fiction, and that part was fiction. That means made up. You have to admit it, though, the boys were very clever, and I bet you enjoyed their song. Personally, I thought they did a pretty good job pretending to be cats. Not perfect, of course, but then, how could they be.
I hope you have a nice end to this old year, and wake up happy tomorrow when the year is new.
Bye bye.

In Between Cats
These are peculiar days, in between two big holidays. It is hard to get Things started, although He is still hard at work on His projects. It is just that not everyone else is ready to help him. People have too many parties to go to and lunches to have. I hate to mention this, but a lot of Her beloveds are quite sick with colds. Yesterday He was feeling kind of cold-ish, but maybe He got some good medicine, because He is better today. If He gets it, then She surely will, and then how can I avoid it? Snuggling is my main business around here.
Speaking of snuggling, She is chuffed because of the present Kate and I gave Her for this special holiday time. We decided to get along better, so that we can both be around Her and make Her happy. She is practically singing today, because Kate and I are both lying in my sun spot and not even glaring at each other. She says that Hana'sGran will know how happy that has made Her. I am almost always in the living room now, and every so often Kate and I will have a small yow at each other, but it is because neither of us wants to be second-cat.
I hope you saw my singing boys in yesterday's story, because it is the perfect song for these in-between days. Know what else is perfect? Her new coffee-the-drink machine and having pizza for dinner tonight. Cheerio.

Singing Cats
Yes, all three of us know how to sing. We even taught some nice boys to give it a try. Of course, they don't sound anywhere nearly as good as we do when we are telling our stories to each other. She told me to put a place in my story where you can hear my students. Here it is:
When you have finished hearing them, don't make fun of them. Of course they didn't get it right. They are only humans. Be kind.
I will go and help Her with dinner now. It's chicken tonight. Nom nom nom. Toodles.

Retired Cats
Today She was talking about being retired. It turns out that She didn't think about not teaching Her students and teachers. It didn't cross Her mind until She had a very bad problem. Her back started to hurt Her and it got worse and worse. She had to stay in bed, and then in a hospital for a long time.
I was very sorry to hear about that, because She is so whiney about not being able to walk very well that I couldn't imagine Her not being able to walk at all. Well, here's what She thought. She wanted to go to a lot of very far places and see all the things She taught about. If She had so much trouble walking, He and She couldn't do that. That made Her give up teaching. Oh, They went so many places that She knew She had made the right choice. Every year They went on a nice trip, or She went with Mazie'sGrandma or Smudge'sMom. When She wasn't traveling, She still worked at the schools helping children who didn't have parents, or children whose parents needed help getting things right for them. Then, before we really knew Her, She started falling down a lot. She is really healthy, but it is hard for Her to walk, and She is always afraid She will fall down. How did this happen, Cofs, She asks me. I don't know how She stayed retired for such a long time. I told Her She should write a book, and He says that's a good idea. But mostly She just talks to Her friends on the computer. I will think about how to talk Her into it. After all, most people don't live such a long time after they retire, He says. She should tell people what She knows. I know She will fix nice dinners, even though She doesn't like to fix food so much any more. Luckily She knows there are hungry cats and Him, so She fixes nice dinners. TaTa for now.

Regular Day Cats
Since She woke up with a headache, I thought this was going to be another lazy day. But no. She took two little red pills and feels just fine, so all of us were busy today. It was a lot easier organizing things now, because the things were all for Her and Him and us. He put away our treats that Santa brought, and She put away what seems like a million presents for Her. He was at work on His projects. You know how organized He is. She and I don't know how He does it.
She did have fun today, though. She took a good long time reading all the little coffee packages that came with Her machine, and made some really good ones. At least that is what I guessed, because all you could hear was Mmmm. Yesssss. You should try this kind. I sniffled it, but it is not my type of thing. I AM Coffee, I don't drink coffee.Another thing She had to organize was our refrigerator. I is loaded with good things, and was soo full She couldn't find things, so She sorted it all out and has it arranged more neatly. If She wonders what we should eat, I reminded Her there was still fish in there. I will see if She takes my advice. I know He would like it as well. There is a very nice feeling about having a refrigerator full of good stuff. There are lots of people and cats who don't get nice food and treats. Every day, She reminds us all to remember that before we go around yowing about silly things. From the way She acts, Having Kate and me in the same place makes Her happier than all that fish and cookies. Do not tell Kate this, but it makes me happy, too. Have a nice evening. Shalom.

Lazy Cats
This was a day for all of us to be lazy. In the days before this, we were all busy, mostly with nice things to do, but today we are just not even looking at our to-do list. The kitchen is full of lovely things that people brought for us, or sent us home with, or sent in the mail. He and She have eaten too much of sugar things, and He says He will be very particular about what He eats after this. The new year is good for that. She says it is a new start-over, and we can be way more careful about all our lazy things and our sugar things and our planning times. One thing that has made us all happy is that I have returned to my spots in the living room, and Kate has been pretty good about it. I believe Kate now knows who is the top cat around here, and even though we are watchful, we have kind of a gentle-cats' agreement. You cannot believe how many snuggles She and I have had. Both of us are chuffed about it.
She is looking forward to having some time with Her Crones, and later on, having a lunch with everyone. He is going to be at work on His projects, and our lives will be back to normal. After Cleo'sGirl, we don't have a birthday until Hers in a lot of weeks. I am glad we can settle down. I am all Christmas-ed out. Hope you get a chance to be lazy for awhile, too. Chow

Christmas Cats
It seems as if it took forever to get here. We have been getting ready for this particular special day for a huge lot of time. I can hardly remember when we weren't getting things bought and sorted and mailed and given. Usually on this special day, They used to go to LW'sHouse, but it is too hard for Her to get around, and their house is kind of up-and-down-y, and She is not at all comfy with all Her aches and pains, so They told LW'sMom that They couldn't make it. Guess how lucky that was! The electric power went off at LW'sHouse, and that family had to go out to eat their dinner. So today They stayed here, which gave me a chance to give Her some serious Merry Christmas snuggles. Then Her nurse friend came over and brought Them even more good things to eat. We sure are lucky here at our house. Kate and I decided to act like friends, since She told us Christmas is all about peace. Now the next special day is Cleo'sGirls birthday, and then a whole new year starts. They have some lovely sparkling drink to have to celebrate the new year, and then it's back on His careful eating again. He got lots of nice, sugar-free stuff for His birthday, so it isn't going to be hard for Him at all.
I love being here at our house with Him and Her and my grumpy sisters. I hope you people who read my stories have such a nice place where you feel loved and cared for, like we do. I will say what She says. Merry Christmas.

Happy Birthday Cats
Today was a special day, but this one I understand. It is His birthday, and to Her that is the most important thing about it. The other name of this day is Christmas Eve, but that comes after His birthday at our house. She says it is a hard day to have a party, because people are so busy with Christmas stuff, but a lot of years ago, He and She fixed that by spending the evening with Cleo'sPeople, and that makes it more special than it ever could be. Here's what They do. They get the presents ready and take them over to Cleo'sPeople's House. When they get there, they talk and eat vegetables and then they have dinner.. This dinner makes me hungry just to write about it. It is a thing that the family has done for a very long time. They have lots of different kinds of fish. One day I hope They invite me to go with them, because She says they have shrimp and clams and pink fish and white fish and other nice things. After They eat until They are stuffed full of food, everyone goes and opens presents. She especially likes that they open one thing at a time, and make a fuss over every package. It takes a long time, but when every present is opened and everyone is happy with what they got, the next thing is the birthday party. Cleo'sOldest girl makes Him a fancy cake and everyone sings a song to him. Then He gets more presents. It is wonderful for Him, because He doesn't get many special days. These people are truly beloveds, because they make His and Her hearts very happy. This is what makes me happy. They bring some of that fish home to share. Yummy in the tummy. Happy Birthday, Him. Good night.

Merry Cats
He and She had a very special day today. His and Her beloved LW came over with all her sibs and her Mom and Dad. It has been a lot of months since She has seen these beloveds, and it made Her happy and sad. Happy, because She got lots of good hugs, and sad, because She used to see them a lot of times in a week. She was even there when LW was born, She told me, and all of those children will be special to Her forever. They brought Her and Him some wonderful things to eat, and some very special coffee-the-drink. LW'sDad fixed the new coffee machine that came from Mazie. Now that it works, She will have some of that coffee today. LW's biggest sister played with Kate until that kitty was about to fall over. Oh, how Kate loved that. That sister is very good with cats, and I remember her. So does Kasey. Of course, Kasey stayed in her box on His desk, and I stayed in my soft place in the closet. They came to see me, though, and I am fine with that. LW'sMom is a very good cook, and She doesn't cook any more, so She gave them bought cookies. She joked with them about it. Everyone was happy. Now He and She will get ready to visit Cleo'sFamily tomorrow. He will celebrate His birthday with them, just like every other year. Keep your paws crossed that She doesn't turn off the computer before They leave.
They are having so much fish tomorrow that She didn't want to make it tonight for our dinner. That's just what I guessed yesterday. It's OK, though, because She got out some chicken to cook. That is my favorite after fish and pizza. I hope you all have a Merry day and night. Toodle Pip.

Chuckle Cats
She and I are chuckling today because of a funny switch that happened. Here is the whole story. Kate has some wicked little claws, and like to scratch on everything. She sharpens her claws on chairs and rugs and carpets. Kate tries not to scratch Him or Her, but every so often, They get a little nick. When Kate first came He got her a nice thing to scratch on. The pet store said it would work. So far, not one claw has been sunk into it. It has been Her thought that Kate wants a different kind of scratching thing. She sent away for a scratching box that is flat and has scratching stuff on the bottom and sides. Kate looked at it. When She put some catnip in it, Kate got more interested. After she sniffled all the catnip and rolled around in it, she ran off and left the fancy box alone. Later, I walked on over to check it out, and it looked very cozy, so I climbed in the box and had a lovely snooze, while Kate lay in my sun spot. When Kate caught sight of me in her box, she got all huffy and puffy, so I ran off. It was quite a fun trick to play on Kate. I am chuckling over it, and so is She. Kasey missed the whole show, because she was asleep on His desk.
He and She are all ready for Christmas, and even for dinner tonight. They both brought home good things to eat, and they will have Their special dinner again. With any luck at all, I'll get some of that red sauce. Have a nice evening, everyone. aloha.

Party Cats
This is the day the world was supposed to end. That's what it said on Her computer, and on the TV. Well. It didn't end here, so They are going ahead to Their party with Smudge'sPeople. Every year They go to a place where there is good food, with noodles and red gravy and some meat or fish in it. Every year they have some left over, so we get to party, as well. This will be the first year that Kate is here with us, but Kate is not quite as fond of people-food as I am, so I don't think I will have to share. It will probably be tomorrow before They use it for Their dinner. It is my guess that They won't fix any fish for awhile, either, because on His birthday party, Cleo'sFamily gives Them all kinds of fish for dinner. You know They love that.
But that is way ahead. Tonight is not only about eating, but it is about giving presents to Smudge'sMom and Dad. She will be tickled to see if they like what She has collected for them
Speaking of parties, there was a real yow-party this morning. It is because He went into His room and shut the door. We all know that Kasey spends the day in there with Him. Today when Kasey went to go in there and the door was closed, Kate was waiting for her when she tried to go back into the bedroom. That's when the yow-fest started. I had to run Kate off, but Kasey was grumpy most of the morning, until He let her in His room.
I hope you are celebrating tonight, too. Cheerio.

Special Day Cats
You know that people have a whole bunch of special days, but this one is not special to everybody. It is to us, though, because He and She have been married for a lot of years - longer than two and a half cat-lives, almost. They told me They have had several cats before Kasey, Kate and me, but I believe They love us the most. He gave Her a pretty card this morning, and She made nice noises about it. I already told you They are having Their big celebration tomorrow with Smudge'sPeople, so tonight we are having everybody's favorite - pizza.
We separated presents into bags for different people, and have the Christmas stuff ready to hand out. I don't like to complain - ahem - but Kate gets in the way while we are doing this. Kate likes to play attack with the bag handles, and jumps on the boxes. She is too old to be acting like a kitten, but Kate is doing what kittens do. I did have to hiss at her a time or two.
One thing that is on the news is that some people say the world is going to end tomorrow. I don't think this is true, and He and She are joking about it. Don't let it happen before our dinner, He said. I would not like the world to end if it means I have to give up my cozy life with all the snuggles in it.
What She says is that if it ends, I could not have better friends or better cats to leave behind. I like that last part. Oh, and if the world ends, I will not be writing my story tomorrow. Otherwise, I'll TTYL.

Traveling Cats
One day, She sent Cleo'sMom a paper from one of Her companies. There is where you get something nice for half price. Long ago, They used to go to this place with Cleo'sPeople, and everyone was happy to be there. Now that She doesn't travel so much, She thought Cleo'sPeople would go there and have some nice food. The paper was only going to be good for a few more days, So She and Cleo'sMom traveled all the way to the other side of our town to visit. They had so many happy memories of that place. Well, She started with coffee-the-drink, and had something called a mushroom omelet. The way She tells it, it sounds simply delicious. The two ladies sat and took their time eating their omelets, and got ready for the long ride home. She was amazed when She came in the house, to see Kate and me both snoozing in my sun spot. Not fighting or anything. Here's what She thinks. In a few weeks, Kate and I will be in the same place without a fuss. It makes Her glad to think about that. She told me She is tired of the two of us being drama queens. I had to remind Her that I am a boy cat, and therefore a drama king.
So tomorrow is their anniversary, which means another year that They have been married to each other. Instead of celebrating it then, They will wait and have dinner with Smudge'sPeople, on the next day. Maybe you remember that these two families have their marriages one day apart. He and She don't care which day they pick. They enjoy the party. Also, They have some fun presents for Smudge'sPeople.
She is so full of omelet and coffee and bagels that She doesn't want to eat supper, so He will have some leftovers. I guess I will settle for kibbles. Toodles.

Easy Job Cats
This was a day to get some easy things done. The first thing we had to work on was filling a big bag with stuff for some poor people. A truck comes and picks it up, and He and She send things They don't need so much, and the poor people sell it in a shop. It makes Her feel glad about a job like that, because it clears away things She doesn't need anymore, and it helps get things people need - either from Her bag, or by selling it in their store to get money. It helps me, too, because when She cleared out a place in the closet where the towels and sheets are, it made a space that just fit me for a good place to hide.
When She gets on the computer, there is a place where they offer bargains every day. Today's bargain was to get a person to come and clean our house for a very little money. She bought that deal, and soon our dust collection will get taken away. At least that is what She hopes.I think He will tell the cleaning person to ignore the cats. I hope that is what He tells them. I am not crazy aboout cleaning noises.
She has a friend who lives very far away where there are big mountains. This is one of Her Eddie Grandchildren. That lady sent Him and Her a package with some really good stuff in it, and She is going to use the stuff to fix dinner. I am not sure if I will like it, because I never had it before, but I will sniffle it carefully, and if it seems good, I'll try it. Oddy-ose for now.

Smart Cats
The people that He and She know are smart people, and we are smart cats. He and She have learned that smart people do not always agree, but They try to be fair about it. If each side tells his or her opinion and they can't seem to make anyone change his or her mind, They do something called agree to disagree. When it is obvious that no matter what the person says, and no minds will be changed They sometimes have to just tell Their side and leave it at that. This happens mostly about how people believe in prayers and stuff like that. Another good one is who do you want to vote for. Right now, the big argument is about guns. He knows everything about how to shoot a gun, but He doesn't like guns. She knows a few things about shooting guns, but she doesn't like guns, either. Some people feel very good about having guns, but they agree that there should be rules. The people that He and She and we cats worry about are the ones that say they will get very very mad if you try to take away their guns. Here is what They think. Guns are only made for one reason. To kill something. Too many people have been killed with guns already, so why have them? To hunt for animals? That is just mean. To protect themselves? How often does that happen? So everyone who lives at this house says no to guns. Everyone is so sad about those little children who got killed. Maybe they will listen to Them now. Farewell for now.

Normal Cats
We are pretty much back to normal here, after all the sadness about the shooting. There is nothing like Cat snuggles to help fix what is wrong, especially for Her. Almost as much as She loves us, She loves Her Mazie Grace. Mazie'sDad sent Her some more pictures of Mazie singing in a choir. That is a bunch of people singing together. Mazie sings like an angel. I have heard her myself. Also, a package came yesterday from Mazie's house. She knew what it was, because Mazie'sMom had asked Her if She had the kind of coffee pot that makes one cup at a time. Yesterday's package had a big bunch of little cups filled with different coffee, and even some tea. A note on the package said there would be another package coming, and She bets it's the coffee-making machine. He and She cleared out a drawer to put the little cups of raw coffee in. It made Her very excited and pleased. It will take a while to use up all that coffee. Then He and She can buy more. They still will use their regular coffee pot, too. It is a good thing that coffee is good for you. To tell you what I think, She would drink it even if it didn't help you with your brains. She is a coffee-drinking machine Herself.
Kate likes to play mouse with that little strip of plastic. I told you about it before. Well, today He tried playing it with Kate, and she scratched His hand before He could get the plastic thing hidden. He yelled really loud, and it scared Kate, and she ran off. It turned out OK, because Kate came back and played mouse with Her. She knows to keep Her hands away from Kate. That's why She uses the plastic. I have to go and help Her fix dinner now. TTYL.

A Better Day Cats
Today has gone much better than yesterday. Of Course, She is still sad about that shooting that happened, but She has written some letters and signed some stuff about getting this country to make better rules about guns. She has a couple of problems with people who say it would not happen if more people have guns. She thinks that is really foolish. She also thinks it is silly when people say it is because their god made it happen. I'll tell you a little secret. When She gets kind of mad about those things, it helps Her to not cry and feel so sad.
So today She went to the bank and stopped for something to bring home to eat. They said if She ordered a certain thing, they would give Her free dessert. Of course, She said sure, and had a cute little thing made of two cookies with ice cream in between. She let me have a taste, and it was very nice. It is Her opinion that things that are free always taste better. Then, to make Her feel even better, She got a bunch of mail from His and Her friends. They had pretty pictures and sweet messages. Everything helped Her to cheer up.
Right now, She is making something He really likes for dinner. He only eats certain rice, so She cooked a big bunch of it and mixed in meat and vegetables and some sauce that smelled very good.
She says She will never get over those little children being killed, but She wants Her life to go on. I think it is because I was able to give Her some serious snuggles. Bye, now.

Heartbroken Cats
This may not be a very long story today, because She is heartbroken about something that happened today, and She will need a lot of comforting. The thing is, She heard a report on the radio, and it said a guy with a gun went into a school full of little kids and began shooting them. He shot kids and teachers, and both of those kinds of people are very close to Her heart. She got my fur all wet crying about it, and for a while She was hoping that something would be done about people and guns. She told me that people who like guns say it is their right to have them, but She believes they don't need guns in this kind of times. She hopes that our President gets so angry about this shooting that he will make people pass laws about it. After all, he is a Dad. That would cheer Her up a little, but for now, the best thing is to snuggle Her best cat. I will do my job, because wet fur doesn't bother me if it is from Her. She doesn't want to talk about what is for dinner, and I'm not asking Her. I'll try to tell you tomorrow. Peace and love.

Understanding Cats
I know. I should be very angry with Her for turning off the computer before I wrote my story yesterday. It seems like all this holiday stuff is distracting Her or something. I was going to tell you about my sister Kasey, who had to go to the vet today because of her wet-the-bed problems. He is very patient with Kasey, but enough is enough. The vet said that it might be because she is upset over Kate, but then, it might be something wrong with her plumbing. I was very worried yesterday, so I might have been angry, but instead I decided to be an understanding cat and remind myself that She is very old, and She does give good snuggles and pets. I hope that She forgives me when I am very old, and give Her the occasional nip.
Yesterday She met with Her beloved Crones, and Smudge'sMom gave Her some tea to make. She loves stuff like that. Cleo'sMom and Cleo'sGirl got all of Her food for Her, and it was just right. It bums Her out when She can't do things for Herself. He and I just shake our heads and roll our eyes. Today was another nice lunch. It was with Her beloved Hana'sGran, and those two ladies have made such a habit of going to the same place that they said they would put a sign on their table. H'sG and She laughed about that. They were extra clever today. Instead of a big meal, they ordered smaller things, called appetizers, and then they each had a giant dessert. They had fun, just like they always do. I was careful to write my story before She turned anything off today. I will be extra watchful tomorrow, too. Buh-bye.

No Thunb Cats
Maybe the reason that cats are born with claws is so they can hold on to things, because they don't have thumbs. Kasey and I belonged to people who took away our claws, then they didn't want us anymore. We would have been in such trouble if we had tried to live outside without any claws in front. Instead we came to live with Him and Her forever. Now, our new sister, Kate, lives here, and she has claws. She is hard on the furniture, and He is especially sad to have her clawing all the time. He bought Kate a special thing to scratch on, and she decided it is not as much fun as scratching on the chair and making Him yell. He and She would not take Kate to have her claws taken away, but if she were to scratch Kasey or me, Kate would be in some real trouble. I guess it is the same with people. They have some big differences, but they have to get along, so they decide to be careful if they aren't willing to be nice.
A while ago, He almost had to see what it was like to go without a thumb on his best hand. Because of a combination of good luck and good doctors, His thumb was saved, and while it isn't perfect, it still works well enough so that He can do important stuff, like write and open bottles and use the can opener. Today was his final appointment with that magical doc who saved most of His thumb. It still has a little bend in it, and sometimes it feels funny, but the thing is, it works. It is amazing to Her, because She didn't see any way it would ever work again. It made Her wonder why people have to go looking for miracles when they are right here when we need them. It makes Her believe that someday, all three of us cats will be friends. Good luck with that. Chow.

Breakthrough Cats
I have told you before that Kate is very jealous of me, and that I try to avoid her at all costs. Sure, I get in here to write my stories while Kate sleeps in my sun spot, but today I made a very bold move. Kate peeked into the bedroom, looking for Her, and I chased her little blue tail right down the hall and into the living room. I was magnificent. Yes. I was. So while Kate found a safe place to go, I hurried up onto the little couch. That's the one where I have done my most serious considering. I got comfy up there and had a nice nap, and Kate was none the wiser. When She came in to eat Her lunch, Kate finally noticed me. I could have run, but I stood my ground. Kate got up on the couch and went nose-to-nose with me. I think She heard some growls, but She just waited. Kate got up close to me and sniffled my tail. After quite a few sniffs, she turned and jumped down. When I felt like it, I got up on the empty bookcase shelf, He and She have always kept it empty for me. Kate tried a couple more hisses and a growl, but the little rascal knew she was defeated, and ran away. This is a bold step in my taking back the living room. I don't mind sharing, but I get lonely in my closet. She is really quite proud of me. She says She will have Auntie Heather take our pictures of Kate and me together. Then She will show us off to Her computer friends and family. This was not a bad way to start the week. It looks as if She has a full schedule, but it will include seeing beloveds, so that will keep Her happy. I will check the area and go back to the living room. When someone is proud of you, it gives you courage, you know. Farewell for now.

Laughing Cats
Every year, She gets Her presents bought and ready for the day they are for. For example, all Her Christmas gift have been bought, wrapped up and sent. The people in the news say that these parcels should be ready to send early, so the guys who deliver them have plenty of time. It must be a worry for Them if the packages are late. So He took the packages to the post office last week, and most of the people have gotten them already. She is glad they got there, but a little sad that the people didn't wait until Christmas, because now She thinks it will seem as if She didn't send anything. So Kate, Kasey and I are laughing until water comes out of our noses. It is so funny to see Her get anxious to send packages and then upset because they got there. She wonders why She sees us rolling on the floor.
Of course, some presents just get handed to the person, like at Cleo's house. They go there because it is His birthday, and Cleo'sPeople always have a party for Him. She knows those packages will be there on that day. He and She give presents to Smudge'sMom, too. They will have those when They go to Their favorite dinner. They will have presents for S'sM and for Smudge'sDad, who doesn't especially like to be called Smudge'sDad. It dooesn't matter, because he gets his birthday present then, as well. She used to have presents for Her beloved Hana'sGran, but those two ladies will just have lunch and no presents. Their time together is a present for both of these ladies.
So after a few more days, all of the fuss and bother of this holiday will be over. It doesn't really stop Her from looking in catalogs and filling up the gift closet, but that is what makes Her happy. And makes us laugh. snerk. Poodle tip. Get it?

Kosher Cats
One thing I learned very early in my life with humans is that they seem to want to believe in some powerful thing out there that helps them with their lives. Cats do not believe that, because we get all the help we need - and some we don't - from Them. They seem to get most of their rules about this from a very big old book. He and She believe that this book is about stories, and They think They are responsible for all the help they need, because They probably caused Their own troubles. But They do like one of the stories about some people that were stuck hiding from people that wanted to harm them. They hid in a cave and it was very dark. They had a light, but they needed some stuff to make it work. They had enough stuff to last just a little while, but the stiff lasted for enough time. They thought it was a miracle, which is something good you can't explain, like when Auntie Heather found Kasey outside, and they still celebrate that miracle now, a long, long long time later. She likes that kind of celebration. She says it is good to be glad about what you have. We decided we like that story, too. We don't like the ones where people get killed or punished some other way. Of course Kasey is sure that she is in charge of the world, but He and She say we are all in charge, mostly of ourselves.
I wonder if this is a miracle. I really wished that She would fix pink fish for our dinner, and guess what I saw on the counter? Yes. Pink fish. It is enough of a miracle for me. Shalom.

Chinese Cats
Today She went to have lunch with Rocky'sMom, and the place where they went was Chinese. She ordered a nice lunch and there was so much that She brought some home. Here's where it relates to me and the girl-cats. He looked into the box of brought home food and there on top was an enormous shrimp. I have every confidence that one of us will get that shrimp, and I am counting on it being me - although I will share it if I have to. The thing about the Chinese food is that there are lovely vegetables and pretty brown rice with it. Rocky'sMom brought her box home, too, but She says it was chicken.
I am acting very careful, because in all the excitement of pets and snuggles, I accidentally bit Her again, and it was harder than I meant to. Her feelings were very hurt, because She doesn't realize how excited and happy I was. I am so sorry when She feels sad, because I really love Her. I am much better than Kate, who bites her almost every time she gets pets, but Kate doesn't bite Her hard. I peeked at Her last night, and there was Kate, sleeping on Her tummy. It looked so cute I almost for got to be jealous.
With the vision of a huge shrimp in my future, I will go and have a little rest, and dream of our dinner. Bye-bye.

Healthy Cats
You can be glad you weren't here this morning. She had to go to see Her doc., and they told Her not to eat or drink anything before She went. If you have seen Her with no coffee-the-drink, you know it is not Her best look. She makes that Grumpy Cat on Her computer look jolly. She expected to get a bunch of tests to check on how Her insides were working, but Her doc said to wait a bunch of weeks before She has the tests. You see, there is a medicine She has stopped taking and it will take awhile to have it work out of Her system before the doc knows if She can stop taking it forever. She is determined to have only a few pills, and wants to stop all of them someday. Guess what She did when She first got home.
There were lots of bargains on the computer today, and when She felt up to it, She bought a couple of things, including more of Her favorite honey. It is honey you eat, not a person. He is Her favorite honey person. This honey is nice on Her peanut butter sandwiches, and She likes it when other people try it. I don't know why She feels so rich that She can buy some honey, but She will eat it, even if I don't.
One day He went to the store and brought home a big package of smoked sausage. Everyone likes that. She was wondering if it would taste good with a package She has that is supposed to have hamburger in it. She wants to try it with sausage instead. She asked Him if He ever heard of sausage helper. I think that was supposed to be funny, but He just looked puzzled. I bet He finds out tonight.
I shall now go and try to get some pets and a snuggle. TTYL.

Offended Cats
Yes, I knew She was going to get Her hair cut, so that's when I went in to write my story yesterday. The trouble was that He thought is was a good idea to turn off the computer and the lights in Her office. Well, of course I was offended. Doesn't He know that She and I have a system worked out? I will let you in on a suspicion of mine. I think He doesn't read my stories, and so He doesn't take them seriously. I just say hmmph to that. So now you have to hear about today's adventures, and try to imagine that yesterday was a gray and rainy day when we all would have been better of staying home and not worrying about a hair cut. Hmmph.
Today She decided that it is easier to go without breakfast than to play attack the plastic strap with Kate. That little rascal has torn up Her table cover with her little claws. I think She is afraid that Her hand that holds the strap will be the next thing to go. She will try this plan for about a week, in hopes that Kate will forget about that game and play with her own toys. I have some very disappointing news for Her. Her brilliant plan is not going to work. She doesn't realize how intense Kate's love of the game is, and how psychology doesn't work on cats. I'll let you know how it turns out in about a week or so. That's all the time She can go without Her toast and butter along with Her coffee-the-drink.
I am checking out what She has planned for dinner. It looks kind of interesting, even though it isn't fish. That's my story for today. Shalom.

Business Cats
This was the first day that She could do business for this month, and boy, did She ever. She slept very late, but when She woke up, She was a dynamo. She took care of bank business, letter business, ordering business and arranging business. She stayed out of His business, because it makes Her dizzy to see what is going on. He talked to His business people and will go see them tomorrow, but tomorrow She has more important things to do. She has to get Her hair cut. She told me I was lucky that I didn't need to get my hair cut. I just need to get it brushed, so I don't leave it all over the furniture.
The next business She will have to take care of is getting packages mailed. He will have to help with that, because She has quite a few. She worries about the packages getting there too soon or too late. I bet the people who get them don't even care. I don't mind telling you, I laugh at Her when She worries about stuff like that. She doesn't mind. She laughs at Her own self for that. I think She doesn't want to worry about real problems, so worrying about little ones keeps Her mind off of it.
Kasey has gotten her royal self in trouble. Kasey has a new habit, which is peeing on His place in the bed. She wants Him to take Kasey to the cat-doc, but He says she was just there and was strong and fit. After He has to wash the sheets about two more times, I bet He takes her.
It looks as if there will be chicken tonight, with pretty green vegetables. He will love that, and I will enjoy the sauce. That makes it a fine day, except for the peeing. Toodles.

LookOut Cats
She gets kind of whiny about being afraid She will fall. Don't get me wrong, I love Her, but here's an example. When She went to take Her shower today, and He wasn't home, She was in and out of that shower so fast that She still had soap on Her. What if She fell down in the shower and He wasn't home? What if the firemen came to pick Her up and She didn't have any clothes on? Even Kate is getting a little tired of it, and Kate is still in love with Her. I assured Her I would be a lookout, and so She took Her very quick shower.
That was a nice change from looking out for each other. I hate to brag, but I am so good at looking out for Kate that the little nuisance is staying clear of me. According to Him, He is sure I will be staying in the living room very soon now. Kate still has fun threatening Kasey, and Kasey is so sure that Kate wouldn't dare bother her that there is a yow-hiss match at least every other day. I try to tell Kasey what She used to tell the teachers She helped: Don't let them push your buttons. The day that Kasey listens to my wisdom is the day it will snow here where we live.
Now, since it is the new month, She plans to pay for the taxes on our house. It is a good thing, because I would not want to be homeless and sleep in the car.
Yesterday's fish was wonderful, but I doubt if She will fix it two days in a row. I am hoping it will be pizza. Cheers, everyone.

Church Cats
Human beings seem to want to go to churches. She says a smart guy told Her that if She moved here to where we live, She should surely join a church. She believes some different things than a lot of church people, so finding a church was not so easy. When She moved here, She did not know Him, but here is a lucky thing - He believes just what She does, so They found each other. They went to church together until They got too busy, and the church was far away. Many things happened and He thought They could find a church again. He heard a message on the radio about a new church that could be starting up very close to where They live. It turns out They got very interested, and worked to start the church nearby. It was good for Their hearts and Their thinking. The best thing about it was that They got a whole new family. It is where They found Cleo'sPeople. They found LW'sPeople, but there was no LW yet. They found Smudge'sMom and her family. They met so many friends and were so interested in the church that They never felt happier. Work for Their church did not seem like work. After awhile They got Mazie and lots of children They felt like Grandma and Grandpa to. They met out Uncle John when he was a little boy. They had dinners and parties and fun with all Their church people. But then, one day, something happened. Things were going a little bit odd, and They stopped going to Their church so often. She did not give any talks any more. The dinners kind of drifted away, and pretty soon She couldn't walk very well. She is glad that the church is doing better, but it is too hard for Her to go there. She still keeps all the children close in Her heart, and maybe someday She will go back. For now, there is no church for Him and Her. It would be kind of sad - except that there is fish for dinner tonight. Goodnight.
