Deadline Cats

It turns out that this was a very important day. It wasn't that kind of day when the mail doesn't come. It was the last day when He and She were supposed to get certain stickers to put on the cars. I remember that She ordered Hers on the computer, but it hasn't come yet. He had to go to a place to get His sticker, but they were closed. He did take Her car to get the second sticker that means Her car is safe to drive. I am writing this story to tell you that both of Them may be in jail before I write to you again.. How in the world did They both get into this fix? Don't They know They have cats to take care of? She says the sticker-people usually send a letter, but this year it didn't come. When She went to find out why, the people told Her to order it on line. That means on the computer. That is just what She did, but unless it is in today's mail, She is not right with the law. He got His letter, but He couldn't find it, which is why He had to go to the sticker-selling place that was closed. She is trying very hard not to laugh, because His office is very neat and tidy, with things in folders and envelopes, and Hers is a complete mess, as if someone came in and put piles of papers and boxes here, there and everywhere. She can find almost everything in all those piles of stuff. Maybe that's why I love Her and Kasey loves Him. She and I are random personalities and He and Kasey are particular, or whatever the opposite of random is. She says They balance each other that way. The main thing is, if They don't have the right stickers They will be in big trouble. If They have to go to jail, Kasey and I will be out of kibbles, out of water, and out of luck.
I may as well enjoy the rest of this day while I can. I saw that She was having chicken for Her dinner while He goes to a meeting. Chicken is fine with me. You can't have fish every day, I guess. Check back to find out what happens since the deadline is here. TTYL

Chatty Cats

Kasey and I like to talk to each other, and also to Him and Her. I am much better at it than Kasey, but she knows how to tell Him when she wants pets and snuggles, just like I tell Her. Kasey has taught Him to do certain tricks, for example she gets up and stretches, and He knows to pet her two times on the back. He has learned that when Kasey jumps up on the counter He is supposed to give her at least three treats. If He just puts down two, Kasey looks at Him in a pitiful way, and He knows to put down more. If she wants pets, Kasey knows to get on his papers or his keyboard. They are very cute when They do Their tricks for us, and we reward Them by purring and bumping our heads into Them  At last  He has learned to make sure we have food when we jump on Her and get in the way of Her work or reading, and She says Do the cats have food? He fills our dishes right away.  She talks to me every day, and I let Her know how I feel. She calls me The Purr Factory, and laughs. Kasey does not purr as loudly as I do. I am not sure He hears Kasey purr, but our Auntie Heather can get Kasey to purr and get snuggles. One thing She has never done is get snuggles from Kasey. One day She tried to tickle Kasey's belly, like She does mine, and Kasey gave Her an icy stare and walked away. I laughed when I saw that, and I still have to laugh when I think about it. Since last evening was more of a snack evening, I suggested the She should fix fish tonight, and that is just what She got out of the freezer. I am a convincing talker. I will go and lie in my sun spot, and look forward to an excellent evening. Chow, bellas.

Better Day Cats

Yesterday I told you about the rain, the loud noises and the flashing lights. It started up again after I wrote my story, and by the time we were ready for bed, so much rain had come down that there were emergencies all over town. What a relief that He got home safely, because the TV showed lots of cars under water. Where we live, the water was not so deep, and our lights didn't go out, so we were lucky, like we always are. I was ready for more rain and noise today, but what do you know? The sun came out and it has stayed nice and quiet.  Kasey and I are very glad that it is sunny and nice, although Kasey would never admit to being scared. Kasey thinks the rain should be scared of her. Our Mazie was singing in a huge chorus yesterday, and She looked at pictures of Her little darling in the front row. That made Her feel quite chuffed, but beside that, She didn't feel very well today.  It wasn't from being sad, or afraid of the rain, it was more like a tummy ache. She took those little red pills and is having a rest. Meanwhile, He is excited to get another step closer to finishing His project. I believe He will start making some money with it very soon.  If not, well - She doesn't want to go there.  The pizza was especially delicious last night, and I am guessing that it will be snacks for dinner tonight, which for Kasey and me, means kibbles and no sauce. He is having some pictures made for His project and that will probably be through dinner time. I guess I can let it go tonight, since it is for important work, but I will speak up for fish tomorrow. For the rest of you, bone appetite.

Thunder Cats

This day started out nice and warm, kind of half blue sky and half clouds. Some men came and cut the grass outside, and they had a little machine that trimmed all the grass away from the fence. It was kind of fun to watch them, because they were outside and not scary to me. He went out on some errands and She did some things to get ready for the people who will pick up our old things for their store. He came home and They had lunch together. I'm explaining that everything was pleasant. Suddenly, the sky got very dark clouds in it, and the thunder started rumbling. It was a very big change. I decided I would not let that thunder scare me today, and I stayed out and around the house. Finally, it got too much for me. It got terribly loud and there were those flashes. The rain started to come down and I told Her I was very sorry, but I had to go and hide in my closet. She understands, and told me to go ahead and feel safe. Meanwhile, She got on the computer and used Her paper that had a bargain on it. She ordered some food that She likes and She knew He would like it too. She loves getting those papers that make things cost only half as much. When it is all paid for, it is like She gets it free. I wish I had seen the pictures of that food, but the thunder kept making noise. Luckily, it went away before She shut off, and I can let you know that I am safe and happy again, and ready to get on Her lap and watch a movie.  I heard Her tell Him that She was going to fix pizza for our dinner, and I love that. Please don't tell LW'sMom that I get to lick the red stuff off..  She would gack. I hope you have a nice evening and something as good as pizza. Cheerio.

Calm Cats

This was a nice, restful day, with Her right here where I can see Her, and jump up and get pets whenever I feel like it. Yesterday, He brought home some nice grass growing in a pot, and some fresh catnip plants. Those things make Kasey and me very calm and happy cats. I learned that She has some friends and grandchildren on the computer, and She worries about them, just as if they were right here. She worries about their sick kitties, and their busy lives and their different needs. He tells Her not to worry, but She says it makes Her appreciate what She has. Healthy cats and a calm life, along with everything She needs. I feel that way, too, and I worry about Him and Her, but mostly we just stay calm and happy.
When He brought home the grass and the catnip, He also brought a salad that they make at the store. She loves that kind, so She is fixing those round ground steaks to have with the salad. I'll have to see what is on the plate for me to lick off.
There is nothing else going on, so I will just wish you all a nice good evening. Ah-dyoo.

TV Cats

I am usually with Her when She watches TV, and I'm afraid I am going to have to get Her to turn it off. There is nice music to listen to, and there are puzzles to work, and Her little game that She plays - but the TV makes Her upset almost every time She looks at it. It seems that there are some people who make up the rules for the country and for our state. They get their jobs by people like Him and Her selecting them. She says not enough people go to the choosing place, but it is something people can choose to do or not. These rule-people put out ideas for better rules, and then pick the ones they want.. They are supposed to pick ones that the people who chose them want them to pick. Here is where it goes wrong and makes Him and Her so mad. Instead of thinking about Them and the other selectors, the decide on the rules that someone pays them to choose. If you are very rich, you can tell the guys that you will give them lots of money to make the choice that you want. Sometimes they go another way and say that they won't get picked in the next selection. It sound to Him and Her that this is really bad. To make it worse, The guy they picked to be president won and got the job, and the rich guys won't let any of his ideas get chosen for rules. He doesn't like it, but She get mad and sad and feels helpless. So I am going to just get Her to shut off the TV and visit with the people who agree with Her on the computer. That helps Her a lot. I want Her to be happy about things, so She feels kind of good and not sad. She wonders if it will ever change, and Kasey doesn't care.
She had lunch with Rocky'sMom  and brought home enough for Their dinner again. I wonder if the places where they eat give them too much. He doesn't think so. Talk to you later.

Jolly Cats

Sometimes She gets so sad around here that we can't cheer Her up, no matter what adorable things we do. The first thing, though, is to turn off the TV and see that She has two red pills. Pretty soon, She starts to feel better, and it is partly because there is a lovey-dovey (ahem) cat on Her tummy. But there are days when She is so happy that we don't have to do anything special for Her. She doesn't feel Her aches and pains, and She can get out and about. Then Kasey, He and I are jolly as well. You probably want to know what kind of medicine makes the difference. It is Her visits with Hana'sGran for a wonderful lunch, and a meeting with Her beloved Cleo'sMom and Smudge'sMom to end up a great day. It makes me believe that having other people in your day is a big help, and having cats when you get home is a perfect ending. It is always best when He is around, as well. It doesn't work that way with Kasey and me. Kasey could not care less if anyone is around to admire her. It didn't cheer me up when Kate was here, either. I just had a few places I could go that I felt comfortable. One thing She kept telling me was that Kate wanted to be friends, but I didn't believe Her then and I don't believe Her now. So I have to find other things to make me jolly. There is my morning butter. That starts the day off right. Then there are the pets, the snuggles and the kibbles. Those things are very important. The brushing is another nice event, and a chance to lick Her plate gives a big boost to a jolly day.  It also helps to think about what isn't here. There is no dog, although we were happy to see our cousin Cleo when she used to visit. There aren't any scary little kids here any more. That makes me happy, but She misses those days. If you want my opinion, every cat should think about what nice things he or she has and feel happy every day when he or she is in a forever home where there are people who love him and her. Cats should also remember how important they are to keeping their people cheered up. Well, I have to go check on tonight's menu. Poodle tip. (get it?)
