All Cats Are On Hand!

Things are right again here, because She brought Him home from the hospital! We were so glad to see him that we gave Him snuggles when He came in! Oh, how happy Kasey was! She didn't do one rude thing all day!(So far). He wanted to have a little nap in His own bed, and Kasey went right in and curled up next to him. I believe she actually purred.
I told Them that Katy had been in the back yard, and may have scared the birds. Katy should not do that, especially on a nice day like this. There must have been a hundred birds, who had to fly away when Katy and her boy-catfriend showed up. I will make a mean face at Katy if she does that again.
Yesterday, Her Eddie-Friend, Eye, sent Her a cheer-up picture of Eddie. She printed it out and put it in Her picture collection. Eddie is Her virtual grandson, and that picture sure did cheer Her up. I do not think a picture of a tuna would cheer me up. She is very easy to cheer up!
Now that everything is fine here, I believe I'll find a piece of sunshine and have a little nap. She wants me to say Doss Vadonnya to Her friend Gecy. So Doss Vadonnya.

A Little Better

It was a long, long night. For one thing, Kasey couldn't find Him, because he was at the hospital and she yowed for a couple of hours. We were not particularly sleepy anyway, so we had lots of pets and snuggles. I gave Her two massages and slept under Her chin. She says that makes Her feel better.
This morning, when She called him at the hospital (which is like the vet's, She told me, only for people), He sounded alert and like His old self. She was SO happy for that. She doesn't want Him to be like His mother. She has dementia, She says. She didn't know how She would cope if He had dementia, too. She stayed there until He got sleepy, and came home and read all his pill bottles. She thinks that it is His so many different pills that made Him loopy. I guess loopy means He didn't know what He was talking about. We will see what tomorrow brings.
If Kasey yows again tonight, I will look for a switch that turns her off! Oh reevwar. (That's French, not Russian)

Sad Cats

I know the way things are supposed to be, and He is supposed to be home - but He's not. Kasey and I don't know what to make of this. He was gone all day, playing bridge (whatever that is) and when he came home, he was talking strangely. He was confused and didn't make sense. When that happened before, he had that low-blood-sugar thing, and so She gave him some icecream to get sugar in him. We waited about an hour, and He still had us worried, so She called His doc, and she said to call 911. She has done that before. They took him to the closest hospital, and that was around 5 o'clock. We were worried and scared until She finally came home. She told us Mable'sMom brought them some food and She said it saved Her life! I don't know what to make of that! Anyway, She gave us pets, and told us He would stay in the hospital all night. I can see there will be snuggles tonight, and maybe a couple of massages, because She is not so happy.
I will write it in my story tomorrow to tell you when He comes home and everything is fine again.
I must not act scared, or She will not cheer up. Toodles.

Strange Night

It was a strange night for Crones last night! When She got to the meeting, no one was there! She read some magazines while She waited - because Crones are not always in a hurry. Finally, She called Mable'sMom to see if her computer was fixed (It wasn't) but M'sM did tell her Smudge's Mom was coming, and She said that was worth waiting some more for. All those nice cakes and icecreams, just for the two of them!
Before they ate their treats, though, S'sM showed Her the pop-up book her group made! She told Him it was genius! And it's a good thing they looked at it before they ate the treats, because they were pretty messy and had to wash their hands!
It never happened before that only two Crones were at the meeting, but it was OK. It was strange, though, that she came home so early on Crone's night. She gave the extra cupcakes to Katy's girl, who is a special friend of Hers. Katy's Mom will give them to the kids around here. I don't care, because I don't really like cake. Just kibbles and butter, and maybe some tuna or a shrimp now and then. Later, gater.

Shopping Cat

Today I helped Her make a list so She could go shopping. She wanted to get food for Her beloved Crones for tonight's meeting! But She also needed reminding to get a cane. She says She doesn't want to look like She needs a cane, but I told her I didn't want Her to fall down anymore! Oh, and while She was at the store, I told Her, She could get more kibbles for Kasey and me. No sense in making two trips, I told Her, and She believed me!
When She came home with the cane (and the kibbles), He helped her fix it so it felt right to her. I snuggled on the cane, to show her She looked quite nice and healthy. She said She thinks her cane is spiffy. I don't know what that means, but as long as She doesn't fall down, I'm OK with it.Bad news for Mable'sMom, though. Computer troubles. It makes us want to gack up a hairball!
Do you know what this means: Doss Vadonya. She taught me that! (Snerk)

What a Day!

Oh, She had a happy day today! First She went to her talking group, and they talked about big questions. She was sad that He couldn't go, because he had issues about His mother. She really loves this group, because they make you think, and we all think that thinking is good. She told Him that they loved His question, and talked about it for a long time. There was a new thinking person there, and he was vey interesting. He came from The Ukraine and She remembered some of her Russian words and that was fun. I don't know any Russian words.
THEN, She went to see LW at her house. When LW went to the Disney place, she brought back a beautiful cup for Her. LW gave her the cup today. It has pictures of everybody that was ever in a Disney movie, She says, and the cup says Grandma on it! Oh, how She loves being Grandma to LW and her sibs! So She had a happy day, and that makes Kasey and me happy.
She was gone a long time, so I need to catch up on some pets. I will learn how to say goodbye in Russian.

Memorial Cat

Tomorrow is a special day, She says. It is a day to honor all those soldiers that helped us be Americans, She says. I am glad I don't have to be a soldier, because I am not brave. Also, I don't follow directions very well, according to Him and Her. Soldiers have to do brave things, and follow all directions just the way the big cats and people say. I wish we didn't have to have soldiers, but She says that day is not coming in Her lifetime. That's why She likes the new President. The Pres. wants everyone to work out their problems and stay out of wars! That's what She told me, and I believe Her.
Kasey and I picked out a pretend cat to give to LW for her 4th birthday! You can give it a hug and it purrs. It also meows. You can only listen to so much meowing, She says. There is a button to turn off the birthday cat's meowing. She says She wishes She could get a button to turn off Kasey and me. I am not as noisy as Kasey when she yows. I'd like to give Kasey a button that turns off her yows!
I hear some kibbles going into my dish. Must dash! So long, Oolong..

Laughing Cat

I heard Her laughing at something and when I went to check, She told me it was Her friend in Turkey. How can a person live in a Turkey, is what I want to know. It must be a very small person! Anyway, She has a lot of fun with friends She meets on the computer. When they send cat jokes, She shows them to Kasey and me. Kasey doesn't laugh at them, but I do. Sometimes the cats remind me of Kasey and me - especially the ones where one of the cats is nice and one is rude.
I am also laughing because tomorrow is LW's birthday, and He and She got LW a cat because she is turning four. She showed me how this cat works, and I believe LW will think it is fun. I am still laughing because of LW's NED. I am SO glad I know how to laugh! It makes my insides feel good to laugh.
I guess She is going to find out what's up with Mable's Mom, so I will close now, with a happy face. Toodle Pip (Or Poodle Tip. Get it?)

Happy Catz

Kasey and I are celebrating the good news! LW go a NED on her scans! It has mad Him and Her SO happy that they were having a root beer to celebrate. Kasey got extra treats, and I got extra pets, and the best thing is, LW might come to see us now! She was going to come before, but first my people were busy, then LW's people were busy...........I think everyone should stop being too busy right now! Do you hear that, Smudge's Mom?
I sure don't want Cleo's Mom to be sick, but she was around someone who was very sick, and now They can't go and visit tomorrow night. She says old people get sick easier than young ones, so They aren't taking any chances. They are very disappointed, especially since Cleo's people make very good food. AND conversation, She says!
She is watching a movie now. It's a chick flick, She says, so He wouldn't like it. I think I'll go and bother Kasey for awhile. Yay, LW, Yay NED!

Busy Cat

There is a lot for me to do today - for example, I have to watch the house while They go and do errands. Maybe She will bring home some extra butter. I also have to think very hard about LW. She is getting scans today, and I have to give Her extra snuggles when that happens. She told Him that She was sure everything would come up NED. NED is a good answer for LW's scans. It is hard to wait for the answer, but LW knows we sent love along with her. The scans might not show it, but it IS in there. Do you know, even Kasey sends love to LW, and Kasey never sends love to anyone else, except maybe Him.
I will send you a report when I find out. Meanwhile, snuggle time. Oddy-ose

Acro-Cat

Here's what happened: She was sitting in a chair and we were having snuggles when I caught sight of a squirrel out the window. I tried to jump onto the table next to us, which was covered with a tablecloth. It gives me a great view of the place where the birds - and sometimes a sqirrel - come to eat. I made a mighty leap, but when I landed on the tablecloth, it skidded right out from under me! I had to somersault on to the floor. I was very embarrassed, but She told me I was quite graceful, and She fixed it all up and helped me get a good spot to watch the squirrel. By now, Ms. squirrel had settled down to eating the bird seeds and couldn't see me make a mean face! Just as you suspected, Kasey was no help.
I feel better now, and will go and get a nice, cool drink of water. Toodles.

Routines

One way She and I are a like is that we both like our routines. For instance, She likes to have her bagel and coffee, read Her paper, play with me and then go check Her messages. That sometimes takes a long time! As for me, I like to have some kibbles, fight with Kasey, stalk things, and then have a nap. That sometimes takes a long time. At night, I like to give Her a massage with my paws, to let Her know I love Her.
Katy seems to have a routine, too. When He or She goes out for the paper, Katy likes to come over for a few kibbles. For the last couple of days, Katy has brought her boy-cat friends with her. It makes Them laugh, because They say that the cats have trained THEM - to give treats.
Kasey has routines, as well. Whenever Kasey hears the door open, she gets on the table and mews for a snack. Even if she just got one a minute before! I believe Kasey is a snack-a-holic. When she is not getting snacks, she curls up on her blue balnket and sleeps. That is Kasey's routine. Oh, sometimes she snoozes on His clothes, if they are out.
I must go and do the nap part of my routine now. Bye.

Cat Says Relax

OK, we can all relax now, because He brought Kasey in yesterday, and we think she may have learned her lesson, because she didn't fuss to go out today when He fed the birds. It is supposed to be cold and rainy tomorrow, according to Her paper, so if that stubborn Kasey tries to go out, she will get a surprise!
Now She has another dilemma. Should She go to hear a speaker She likes tomorrow, or not. You know, it is always a puzzle when She can't decide something. I will give her some extra snuggles, because She and I like our routines, and don't like to have to decide things. She says Her Grandma used to say Big Decisions Make Themselves, and you just have to figure out the reasons. I am not sure what that means, but She says it is about what you feel, and She likes to feel happy.
She is feeling pretty happy today, because Mable's boy got a good report from the doctor. Here is what I think. She will sleep until She feels like waking up tomorrow, and if it is in time to hear the speaker, she will go. I'll let you know if I am right. Stay tuned.

Oh, Kasey!

Here is the excitement for today: Kasey made a fuss to go outside - like she does - and He let her out! She and I were set against it, but He did it anyway. She rolled around on the patio for a long time, and then ate some grass. He went out to pick Kasey up, but she went under the table and chairs out there. They went on about their business - it was not a day-off day, and she is still out there. Of course, I am a nervous wreck, and She says They will have to put a collar on her, but it seems as if I am the only indoor cat left in this family. The espeeceeay would be mad at Him if they knew about this. Oh, Kasey - get in this house right now!

Comfy Cat

Today was a quiet day around here. He went to take His mom on errands, and She said She was not going to look at Her agenda all day! She even said They would have leftovers for supper. She said that it is hard to goof off when you're retired, but today She would do it! So I had no important house-watching to do, and I could get a snuggle whenever I wanted! I did have to watch the cats that come into the back yard, but Kasey helped me with that. We both looked very mean at the other cats, but they didn't mind. They are gone, now.
She emailed with her Eddie-friends, and threw away a LOT of papers, but it wasn't work, like going to the store, or having lunch somewhere. She says She will check with Mable's Mom later, but She is not interested in work, like dusting or cleaning the glass windows with all the nose-prints on them. They will still be there tomorrow, She says.
One thing She told Him is that She is very glad She is not teaching children anymore, because the schools don't let you teach the way you want to anymore. I don't know what that means, but I know She loves children! And cats. And I'm glad for that!
Must catch up on my napping now. ToodlePip.

A Better Day

I feel better today, but I still don't want to talk about you-know-what. I required a lot of snuggles before I could say I felt OK. Anyway, She went far away with Smudge's people to see Smudge's girl in a place called Waco. Kasey and I love Smudge's people, and She says they take good care of Her when they travel. Besides, She came home and told him Smudge's girl was doing great, and was graduating in one month! It is hard to believe, She says, because She has loved that girl since the girl was three years old!
Today She met with Her beloved Crones, but She missed Mable's Mom, who has gone back to work after her nasty fall. She told Juliette's Mom that She want Her Eddie back. That is not a person, it is a DVD. And Cleo's Mom and girl were there today, which made Her tickled pink, She said. I don't know what that means, but it is a good thing, because she was smiling when She told Him. Everybody was talking about a movie named Star Trek that They really want to see. Maybe They will go to real show, and not wait for Netflix, He said.
I have to go look at the cat that is in our back yard. TTYL

No Story Today

I am terribly sorry, but I can't write a story today. I am too sad. You see, Katy's kittens got into the street and got hit by a car. He says he went to look closely, and they were both dead. I hope He is wrong, but I am too sad to eat, or drink from my silver cup. All I want is snuggles. I'll be back tomorrow. RIP Katy's kittens.

Back to Routine

Now that Cleo has gone home, Kasey and I can get back to our daily routines. Last night, Kasey ran all around the house! When she does that, She says she is acting oofty. When we both do it, She says oofty goofty. These are made up words to say we are acting silly. Kasey ran around as if she had lots of energy. As for me, I came out and got my snuggles by the TV. That felt just right. He put our food and our litter back where we usually find it, and we had plenty of food.
It has been kind of hard around here today, because He can only have liquids, and She doesn't like to eat in front of him. He says that after he goes to the doctor tomorrow, He will buy Her a nice lunch. She is hoping They can go to IHOP, because She likes those new potatoes they have. They will not take us along, because someone has to stay here and take care of things. That's what She told me.
We heard that Smudge's Mom took the cat who has all the kittens, (including Smudge) to the doctor so that She won't have even more kittens. Isn't that a nice thing to do? It is hard for kittens out in the world! Maybe Katy's Mom will take her, too. Too many kittens wears a cat out.
I'm glad Kasey andI don't have any kittens. I am tired just doing my usual work! bye bye.

Addy-Oats Cleo

Cleo's people came to get her today, and they brought her girl from far away. You know how it is when you dither over somebody for a lot of days, and then they go home? Well that's how it is with Cleo. When she is here, it is like the most important thing to Kasey and me, but when she goes home, she leaves an empty space. Don't tell Him and Her, but it is kind of fun stalking Cleo, and hiding from her. We will work on that eating-our-food thing, and welcome her back when she needs to visit.
You know, She has lots of wonderful grandchildren, but She is not any person's mom - just ours. Kasey and I told Him that we wanted to give her something for the day they thank mothers, and He went and got Her a bokay of flowers. She was very happy to have them, and put them in a pretty glass. We haven't had flowers since She got all those flowers from Sandi and David, and Liz and Mark. That was during Her birthday, so She really was ready for those flowers today!
It is too bad that He can't eat any good food tomorrow, but we will have OUR food, minus a big dog! TTYL

Just One Thing

There is just one thing that puzzles me about Cleo, my dog-cousin. Why does she eat my food? They give her her own food every day, and usually, she doesn't eat it, but she always eats MY food. Luckily, He and She give me more, so I am not starving, but someone is going to have to solve this puzzle pretty soon - or at least before Cleo comes back next time. We are quite used to having her here, now. I just wish I knew how she gets my food EVERY time! You think Cleo is at Her side every minute, but - one minute my kibble is there, next minute it is gone, and Cleo is smiling and licking her snout!
It is nice to have the inside grass, too. She put it by my food dish, so we could get at it while Cleo is here. Luckily, Cleo doesn't care for out grass, so it is safe. That grass is very tasty, I must say, and Kasey seems to like it, too. I hope it makes her glad to stay in. I kind of wonder if she will yow again when Cleo goes back to her house.
We are all glad that He is through with his school for awhile, but we are kind of sad about Sunday. Since He has to go to the doctor on Monday, he can't have real food all day Sunday. She says bummer, which She hardly ever says! But that is only one day. The rest will be great. Cleo will be at home, and He and She will both be here with us! Must run, now. Grass to eat. Toodle Pip

Lost-and-Found Kasey!

Well, you aren't going to believe this! Kasey disappeared! I think she was reading back over our blog, and she got some ideas for hiding from Cleo. He and She looked all over for her, like They do, and They knew Kasey was not afraid of Cleo, but it was a good opportunity to show all of us who is boss around here. If you guessed all day, you would not believe where They found her! Remember when I told you about my secret trip to the windowsill? Well, Kasey figured out how to get behind the bedroom shade, and she was snoozing on that windowsill! I think she even barfed up a hairball, just to make it seem homey. That Kasey!
I got a note from LW, and told Him and Her. They hope LWs Mom will bring her tomorrow! You won't believe how excited they are! She says She has known LW every day she was alive! That is more than she has know even ME.
It looks as if He passed his final test, and will get a good grade in his school. She is very proud of him, but She says it makes Her feel like a slug. I don't know what that means, but it can't be good, because it doesn't make Her smile.
I am totally worn out from being watchful about Cleo. I am going to take a nap. Bye for now.

Cleo Again!

Yes, our cousin Cleo is here again, while her people go far away to get her girl to bring home. In the meantime, Cleo is not bothering us too much, but she sure stopped Kasey from yowing in the mornings! We went to the window while Cleo was outside, and Kasey ran away back to her cozy blue blanket! I don't like to laugh at Kasey, but I am glad to have that yowing stop. I hope Cleo doesn't scare children, because she is really a nice dog (for a dog). Cleo does what He and She tell her most of the time, but she can't seem to get it clear about our kibbles. Cleo has her own kibbles, but I guess she thinks our food is for dessert. Oh well. Saturday will soon be here.
One person we would really like to see is LW. We haven't seen her since her hair came back after the keemo. She and her sibs used to visit, but now they are in school and have very exciting lives. They just came back from a place Kasey and I call The Mouse Kingdom. LW told us about it, and we don't want to go, even if there is tuna! We would not mind having those mud bug things LW eats. It sounds like fun, but She says that She doesn't want to suck anything's head. You know, She is kind of fussy about what She eats.
Going top get a drink of water now. Toodles.

Mew-sik

Oh, She was happy last night! There was a singer in town and She was friends with the singer's friends. When She had a chance to go hear the mewsik, She even missed her beloved Dr.House to go. She told Him it was in a coffee place, so how could it go wrong? I have told you before about how She loves coffee so much that She named Her cat Coffee (snerk) So even if this singer wasn't any good, She had nothing to lose! Well, it turns out the singer WAS good, so She said it was a great evening! She only wished some of Her other friends would have gone to hear her. Poor Mable's Mom was going to go, but she wasn't feeling well, and it was better if M'sM stayed home. She was worried about driving in the dark, but She made it just fine. She told Him He wouldn't believe the high water left over from that flood last week! He couldn't go to hear the singer, because He had to go to His school.
I really like it when She is happy. But I am getting ready for later today -- Cleo is coming! I'll tell you all about it tomorrow. A-doo.

Something Else New

Kasey woke up very early today, and was meowing loudly at the door. She wanted to go out to eat more of that grass, I think. He and She think so, too, so She went to a special store for pets, and She got some special grass to grow. Just so Kasey won't yow again tomorrow, She got some grass that was already growing. I heard Her grumble to Him, that paying for a little pot of grass was kind of silly, but if it works, it's OK. She put the grass on the table next to the silver cup, and we both had a snack right away. Then she put the grass seeds by the window, so they would grow nicely. It is a funny thing with Kasey. She went out that one time, and now she wants to go out every day! That's how fast you can be an addict, She says.
Before She got the grass, She went to hear a talk by a nice young man. He was talking about not being prejudiced against people who had different beliefs. She says She is a Humanist. I say hmph to that. She should be a feline-ist, and make a mean face at everyone who is not! I believe Kasey thinks everyone should be a Kasey-ist. That cat is so rude!
At least She is happy LW and her sibs are home safely, with lots of good stories about Make-a-Wish adventures. I must go and nibble on some more grass now, before Kasey gets it all. Toodle-Pip.

Oh, That Kasey!

Ha! I was all rested for a busy day of stalking, eating kibbles and watching out the window, when I got a REAL surprise. Here's what happened - He went out to feed the birds, which I was watching closely. When he got through and started to come back in, Kasey made her escape! That rascal went right out the door. She has not done that before, so He and She were astonished! At first I was thinking, good, now she is gone and I will have Them all to myself, but in a little moment, I felt scared! What if a dog bites her? What if a cat with claws scratches her? She started eating grass, and when He went out to pick her up, the rude little cat went under the rose bush! Kasey was laughing at Him. He was starting to get upset. I guess He was worried like I was. It was She who said to let her alone. That is a comfort-loving cat, She said. She won't stay out too long. But He and I kept looking at Kasey out there. A squirrel came looking for seeds, and Kasey ran her off. I bet she felt very important after that. Finally, she sat down where He could get her. I was relieved. I didn't know I would worry about Kasey. He brought her in, and She said Kasey had enough adventure and wanted to come in, or she would never have let Him pick her up. Kasey is safe on her blue blanket now, and I am ready for a peaceful day! Chow.

What a Day!

Excuse me if I yawn, but I am one exhausted cat. First, it was the birds that had to be watched, and then squirrels, who came to get the seeds He puts out for the birds. I had to yow at them for stealing. Now, I don't care who eats the seeds, personally, but He and She want the birds to have them. I was already getting tired from that, when who shows up on the window, but a green lizard! He sat very still while I poked him with my paws, because he couldn't feel me through the window, but then he started to crawl away. It took me hours (I think) to paw him, and when he crawled up high on the window, I had to get under the shade and jump about 60 times to be sure he was chased away. At last he was gone. I thought I could get some rest, so I had a drink from my silver cup, and was just about to curl up for a snooze when guess what! A CAT came into the yard! It was not Katy, or any cat I know, so naturally, I had to get back to the window and make noises and fighting faces so he would go away! Where was Kasey during all this work? Do you think she would help me? No, she was curled up on her precious blue blanket! I am going to get a couple of snuggles and turn in early. Nitey nite.
