Crosswords Cats

I think you know She likes to do crossword puzzles, and that Kasey and I frequently help Her with them. She did them without us for four hours in the New York airport, She told Him, or else She thought She would get mad about the waiting. Well, She is working out of two puzzle books now, and one of them is so hard that it gives us all a brain-workout. Do you know this one, Coffs, She asks me. My response to that is to lie on Her arm, so that She can take time to remember the word. She sometimes needs to rest Her brain. She has a couple of new puzzle books waiting, so there is no chance of Her brain getting flabby from not thinking.
She made this wonderful food yesterday, and thought She would have a lot left for Their dinner tonight. Much to Her surprise, there is just a little bit left, so She will have to make the gumbo after all. I wonder why it makes Her smile that all that work happened and it most all got eaten up.
Do you know what *politics* are? Don't feel bad - I don't either. It is something She keeps working on. She writes letters, makes phone calls and signs things. She even sends money about politics, and you know it must be important if She does that. We have to help our wonderful president, guys, She says. She really likes the way this president acts.
Right now, She is starting to do a crossword puzzle out of the hard book, so I have to go on duty. Please send good wishes for Mazie's hamster to find its way home. Oddy-ose.

Cats and Vegetables

When She was at OperaGirl's house, She had some wonderful things to eat. She could remember most of how to make it, but just to be sure, She checked with Her OG, and got the details. So tonight, She is making this interesting dinner out of vegetables for Him, and She will put chicken in it for Herself and Her cat. (Ahem!) It is so long since She cooked a new dinner that She almost forgot how much fun it was. What She says is I don't cook anymore, I just heat and reheat. Today's dinner involves cutting and chopping and mixing and spicing. She used to do that all the time, before He started to only eat vegetables. Even Her once-a-week gumbo even has most things out of the freezer. I guess that trip to Her OG's house woke up Her cooking muscles.
We don't like it when She worries, but today She is worried about Smudge'sMom's girl. The girl went into the hospital, and She is busy sending energy to her. Kasey and I are sending purrs and CatMagic so that that nice, smart girl gets better fast.
She is also glad there is a nice dinner tonight, because He had to go and visit with His mother. When She asked him How did it go, He said that she complained non-stop, until He couldn't take it anymore. What was she complaining about? She asked Him. Oh, the usual, He said, and sounded very sad. Kasey and I will be especially snuggly with Him tonight, after He has His special vegetable dinner. Chow, bellas.

Happy Sad Cats

This is the kind of day it has been, happy and sad. It was especially happy for Her, because She went to have lunch with Her beloved friend, Deena'sMom. But then it got sad, because She found out that our cousin, Deena, who was a rescued Australian Shepherd, had gone to sleep, and won't ever wake up. Kasey and I were both sad about that. It is never easy to lose a good friend, and Deena was a good friend to her Mom. Once Deena came here to our house, She told us, but it was before Kasey and I were here. Rest in peace, dear Deena. No more pain.
After lunch, She went to the store. She bought vegetables so She could make a dinner like Her OperaGirl made for Her company that came to OG's house so that She could meet them. They were lovely people, smart and funny and very good at singing. The things to eat were especially good, She said, and She knows He will like it. Since She has leftovers from Her lunch today, She will eat that tonight. I heard Her tell Him it was shrimp salad. Can you guess who will want a taste of that? (snerk) So the OperaGirl dinner will be tomorrow. That is a happy thing.
We are sad, though, because Smudge'sMom's Girl is not feeling well, and Kasey and I are sending lots of purrs to her. We don't want anyone in our beloved Cousin Smudge's family to feel bad.
I hear Her dishing out that shrimp now. I must go and be alert. That will make me a happy cat. Kasey won't care. ToodlePip.

Young Cats, Old People

It is a lucky thing that She has a meetng with Her beloved Crones tonight. It cancels out the itchy bother of His mother. That old person called 9 times so far today, and it has put both of Them on edge. Every time the phone rings, She says Things will be better at 7 o'clock. That's when Her meeting is. She was glad to see a report from Her MusicGuy. He and his darling wife came back from a nice trip to a place called Canada. They did not go to the Canada place where Her OperaGirl went to see Eddie. They went to the other side, Where Smudge'sMom and She went with their dear Bellingham friend. She says it is like having a journey through a bunch of postcard pictures.
Just when She started to get calm after her trip, She started to remember that Her OG is sending pictures. That means a trip to get more picture frames. Here is a puzzle. We all know Her Eddie likes to dress up in girly clothes sometimes, but all Her pictures show him in bloke mode. This might mean more trips to see him in his different clothes. I have seen both kinds of clothes in pictures and on TV, and I have to agree with Her. He looks nice in both kinds of clothes.
She will be so happy to see Her Crones tonight that nothing else will be on Her mind. Especially not His mother!
I have to go and remind Her about Cleo'sMom's surprise that is in the freezer. (snerk) Bye now.

Chuckling Cats

This is one of those happy days when we had a lot to smile and laugh about. He and She woke up in a happy way, because ths is the day they go to visit with their Thinking People. Not only that, but it was His turn to have the question. He had given it a lot of thought, and had pictures to go with it. She had a lot to say about the question, but decided to wait until they got to the Thinking House. It took a long time to print out the pictures, but they still got there almost on time. Her heart is so happy when they go to this Thinking Day. Even if they don't always agree, the Thinking People stay friendly and nice, and They come home all cheery. Kasey and I have to chuckle about how They keep talking about the question. Today She said que paso, gatos? to us.
While They were at the Thinking House, the cat who lives there got all comfy on her back, and let her belly show. She thought that was very cute, and the sign of a happy cat.
She got some messages from Her New York Girls, and that made Her smile even more. She wore Her New York shirt to the Thinking today, and told them about Her OperaGirl's loving care, and Her seeing the play and Eddie. I wonder if She will ever stop talking about that. I'm guessing She won't, but Kasey says people will get tired of it, and She will have to stop, or no one will listen to Her. Kasey can be very rude, sometimes.
Oh, no. Not another salad. Well, maybe She will put some meat with Hers and give me a taste. I am an optimist-cat. TTYL

The Cat Report

Well this was strange. Guess who couldn't sleep last night. Not Him. She is the one who couldn't get to sleep, and She can't understand why. I hope it wasn't because of too much coffee-the-drink, because I can't imagine Her without drinking some. Sometimes She has it late at night, and it doesn't keep Her awake. And after the nice day we all had, too. Luckily, I could go to sleep on Her shoulder, and that helped Her at last. She told me I was purring Her a lullaby. That is a song for going to sleep, you know.
The big thing today is that the insurance company sent the check for His mother's insurance. It helps pay for the place where she stays. At that place, they make sure she has everything she needs. He still gets lots of calls from her complaining about how unhappy she is. Some people are never happy, no matter what, and that is particularly sad, He and She say.Once, She told His mother to count her blessings, and the old lady said she didn't have any blessings. Here's what She says. All the old *person* has is a safe, clean place to live, all her meals, with no washing dishes, help with all her needs and a fine son who takes her places and takes care of all her doctor visits. Only She didn't exactly say *person*. I'll let it go at that.
Some good shows on tonight. Should provide some excellent lap-time. Tune in tomorrow.

TV Cats

After we had our butter and treats, and got our chores done, They decided to watch soome TV while They ate their lunch. Well, that's what they have been doing all afternoon, so I have been having some good lap-time, and Kasey has been on the couch. Although Kasey is right there, I don't believe she has been watchng at all. Of course, I pretended to be asleep, too, but I was actually quite alert. All it takes is a strange noise or a little movement, and I have my eyes wide open, ready to either protect or run away - depending on the level of peril.
When She was checking Her messages, She saw a pretty picture of one of the stars that Her OperaGirl saw last week. OperaGirl made it for the star, and put it on the Eddie page. It started Her thinking about the fun time She had last week. It is so nice to be around smart and interesting people, She says. I know just what She means. Luckily, it is thinking day next week. He is supposed to think up the topic for the discussion. So far, He is not telling Her what He is planning.
She is so glad He has been awake all day, and that they are watching TV together. It is not very interesting, but it is a start.
I'm going back to lap-duty now, so I bid you Ah-dyoo.

Patrol Cats

It was kind of an in-and-out day, so Kasey and I had to be on patrol, to be sure all was well here. It was a bit tricky when I had my butter. She had plain bread for toast, but She also had a jar of some red stuff. When She served my butter, I had to be very wary that none of that red stuff was on her finger, so it was a slow butter day. You can't be too careful with mysterious red stuff, you know. She got the red stuff from Mable'sMom, who always brings it to Her from a visit to her mother's house, far away. Oh, how happy She was with that red stuff! After She was sure I had enough butter, She put big gobs of the red stuff on the bread, and made a lot of mmmmmm's and aaaaah's. I was glad when She put it back in the fridge.
Today Her computer decided to act up. The place with all the letters, where I type, stopped working. We would poke the letters, but nothing would come out. We were very puzzled. She finally shut it off and watched a movie about this grown-up guy learning to read. She got all into that, so I came in here, turned it back on, and you can see I fixed it. Luckily, in time to write today's story. Kasey is having a nice nap on her blue blanket, and She is making dinner, with lots of vegetables. It smells good, even without meat. I'll go on patrol and check it out. Chow.

Cats and Cousins

What a marvelous day! She went to visit Smudge'sMom to tell her about Her trip to see Her OperaGirl and Her beloved Eddie . While She was there, She saw Smudge and fraNkie and best of all, She met our newest cousin. Smudge'sMom calls the new kitten Baby, so that's what we will call him, too. She was telling us about them, and about the cinnamon tea. We love cinnamon. She had some nice snacks, as well, and told Him She is going to try and find some for us to have here. You wouldn't like them, Coffs, She told me, because they are sweet, and you don't like sweet things. She is right about that, but I would like some butter while She is eating snacks.
Then She remembered last week, and how Her OG made some lovely things to eat and had some smart and fun people for Her to meet. She cannot stop talking about the nice time She had at OG's house.
Another nice thing was that She got a call from Mazie. Mazie wanted to thank Her and Him for sending candy for her birthday. It is not for 2 weeks, but the candy got there early. The main thing is that Mazie liked it, and said she wouldn't eat it until her birthday. She has more surprises for Mazie, but I won't tell about them here, in case Mazie reads my stories.
Now, She wants to visit with Deena'sMom. She does not get tired of telling about OG and Eddie. All this smiling is making me thirsty, so I'll go get a cold drink. TTYL

Cats Change Plans

Today was supposed to be for helping Katy'sBoy. She takes him and his Mom to see a lady and the place is kind of far away. They usually have a good time talking and chatting and stuff that ladies do on long rides. But at the last minute Katy'sMom decided to wait for while. It has been raining and thundering all day, so She was glad not to go and get stuck in a puddle somewhere. This gave Her a chance to tend to some mailing She wanted to do. Here's what happened. She told the post office lady that She wanted the package to go overnight. The post office lady said it would cost $25, but it wouldn't get there tomorrow. It would take and extra day. How about Express Mail, She asked. Well, that is $5, and it will get there Saturday. Since today is Thursday, She went for the Express, and laughed and laughed when She told us about it. It made Her wonder if anyone went for the so-called overnight.
Mable'sMom has some tickets for a place to eat, and so they are going to this new place. He is not going, because Mazie's biggest brother is coming to visit with Him. He really likes that, and so does She. The boy is very nice, and likes to write books. Speaking of Mazie, it is her birthday in 2 weeks plus 2 days, and They are getting some surprises ready for Their beloved Mazie. She saw Mazie when she was just a few days old, and has been her Lala ever since. - for eleven years.
Wow, that is a long time. She deserves some surprises! What is that noise? It sounds like thunder. I'll go and check. Toodles.

Catch-up Cats

Since She has been gone all week, we decided this would be a catch-up day. We are way behind on snuggles and pets and massages, so we had to take care of that. Then She went through Her mail and found some things that needed to be paid. Luckily, She had enough money left from Her trip to Her OperaGirl's house to pay for them. She is very particular about money, and so She pays for things right away. That is a trick you learn when you are watching your pennies, She says. I think Her trip was a miracle, because I didn't think She had enough to go, but She figured it all out and told me it was SO worth it. That's just how She said it, SO worth it. I don't know what pennies are, or I would help Her watch them.
She also had to catch up with some of Her other friends. She sent an email to Smudge'sMom, talked to Cleo'sMom on the phone, and checked in with Mable'sMom. LW's family have gone far away themselves, so She couldn't check with them.
She spent some time just being with Him. He seems to want to sleep all day. I can understand that, because I like to do that, too, but She doesn't, and says it is not a good, healthy thing for Him to do. One thing about humans - they always have somethng to worry about. But mostly, She is still happy from Her adventure. I heard Him fill my dish a minute ago, so I will go and check it out. Bye.

Sniffity Cats

Did She think She could just dance back in here, and all would be forgiven? I set Her straight on THAT. She called me and called me, but I didn't come out until I was good and ready. That little minx, Kasey rush right out to greet Her. Oh, Kasey is glad I'm home She said. Just between you and me, though, it was because Kasey knew She would give her treats. I finally came out and let Her pick me up, after a couple of hours, and guess what! She smelled like other cats! I finally realized it was my cousins, Nick and Lion, who had promised me they would care for Her while She was there. So, OK. She said they were very helpful to Her, and that Lion looks just like a.....................lion! No kidding.
Poor Him. He had to listen to Her go on about Her OperaGirl, and their friends, and Her beloved Eddie. If He hadn't gone to sleep, She would have talked all night. But when She woke up today, She said She was really knackered. There was a lot of excitement for an old grandma, and She had way too much to eat. Even though She was tired, She had to go and get her fake teeth fitted. She will get the final ones in 3 more weeks. Want to know something funny? In the pictures that OG took, you can see where the new teeth are supposed to go. I had to laugh when I saw that. Right now, I'm going to get in Her lap, because I am very glad She is home. Toodles.

Sad Cats

It is hard to face the fact that She is going far away to Her OperaGirls house, but I ask you - Does She have to be so happy about it. You would think that leaving Her cats and Him for a lot of days would make Her at least a little bit unhappy. If not unhappy, at least not singing-and-dancing-happy. I heard Him tell Her that He was going to miss Her, but that He was glad She was having this wonderful adventure. She was a little weepy at that, but not sad. That's what love is about, Coffs, She said. I walked away at that. I believe that if you love your cats, you don't leave them alone and helpless for a lot of days. In fact, She will be giving pets to other cats. Kasey is kind of lucky that she doesn't care. Kasey is just miffed that She made her get out of Her suitcase.
I hope you are sitting down, because here is the worst part. She will definitely turn off Her computer while She is gone. I won't be able to write my stories For. A. Lot. of. Days.
Well, I will have Him to care for, and She says She will call on the phone, so He can tell me any important news, and everyone She knows is bracing for hearing OperaGirl stories and Eddie-stories, and about all the good food She gets to eat while she is gone away from Her cats.
For tonight, I'll give her a lot of snuggles and massages, and maybe She will change Her mind. O-revwar for now.

Cats' Rights

The topic today has been about women getting their rights in this country. She was very excited about the movie She saw with Smudge'sMom and the ThinkingHouseLady. Everyone should see that movie, She said. Everyone is very busy right now, but it is a good thing to show to everyone who doesn't know the story about how ladies got the right to vote, and other things. Here's what She says. If all women saw how hard it was to get their rights, every single one of them would vote. Every time. I will bet a salmon-flavored treat that you will hear more about this movie.
She also went to the store where She gets our butter. That butter is the only kind that fits in the butter-place in our refrigerator, so She says it is worth the extra trouble. Sometimes Kasey and I just shake our heads. While She was at this store, She saw a sign that said She could get two pizzas for the price of one. She loves that kind of thing, so She was very tempted. After She thought about it for a little while, She decided that it was not the right time to be bargain-hunting, with only one more day until She goes to see Her beloveds. From what I have heard about the place where OperaGirl lives, I bet She will be able to get pizza there.
I think I will tell Her to take a packet of Kasey's treats to our cousins at OG's house. As long as Kasey doesn't hear about it, a packet will be in Her pockets. (snerk) TaTa for now, chaps.

Deciding Cats

When She got up this morning, She thought She would go to listen to LW'sMom talk about things she believes in. At the last minute, She decided to stay home with me and Him. It was OK, because we had our butter and coffee-the-drink, and we read the paper together. She is so proud of LW'sMom that She could cry, but - well - sometimes you just have to stay at home with your cats.
She did go away later, though. She went to see Deena'sMom in a place where they have good things to eat. Do you know what She ate? She told me it was a bear's claw. Of course, She laughed and confessed it was not a real bear's claw. It was a kind of good food. She has seen real bears, and She knows She could never eat one of their claws. But the best thing was having a time to talk with Deena'sMom. She always feels better after their talks. What She says is that they are on the same wavelength. I believe that means thheir hearts speak to each other.
On the way home, She stopped and got a nice thing to take to the place where She is going to see a movie. Smudge'sMom will be there, and the ThinkingLady. It will be at the Thinking House. It makes Her right chuffed to be with these people, and to see a movie about ladies getting their rights. If She could not vote and be as valuable as He is, I wouldn't want to be around Her.
Her tummy is full of that fake bear's claw, so She isn't too excited about our dinner, but She will see that there is something good. I am going to give Her an extra snuggle before She goes away again. Oddy-ose.

Brothers and Sisters

Well, Kasey is my sister and I am her brother, but mostly we just stalk each other and chase. Oh, sure. We both get on the couch by Her chair, but not touching each other. I know She is disappointed that we don't act more friendly with each other, but you can tell we don't fight. Oh, maybe a mean face. Or a biff now and then. But Kasey is just not a snuggle-bug like me. The only person who has ever heard Kasey purr is the MagicCatGirl, although He says He thinks He has heard Kasey purr very quietly. Meanwhile, I purr very loudly. You can hear me across the room. We had some good snuggling time today, She and I, so therre was a lot of purring.
If She knew how to purr, you would be able to hear Her. She is so chuffed about everything right now - except for His mother. But lets not talk about that person.
She is organizing things for Her upcoming trip. Before I knew Them, They went off halfway around the world for three weeks, and She didn't fuss over things as much as for this visit to Her OperaGirl. Do you know why, Coffs? She said to me. It is because this trip is impossible, and I am going on it! I actually believe I know what She means, although it sounds a bit weird. I have sent messages to my cousins Lion and Nick to take good care of Her. They promised me that they would.
Gumbo for dinner tonight. It tastes better with meat in it, but you know about Him. So - no meat. I will still take a teeny taste, just to be polite. I'm knackered from playing with Kasey, so nitey-nite.

Friday Cats

Once, a long time ago, She had a cat named Friday. When people asked Her why She named him that, She said Friday was the nicest thing to think about. Now, She doesn't go to Her work anymore, so She might want to change my name to Everyday! Luckily for me, She likes Coffee better than Friday! But today was a nice kind of Friday. He stayed up almost all day, and promised He would not take the nasty pills - at least until She gets back from OperaGirl and Eddie.
So She had a chance to enjoy a nice trip to the doc with Katy'sMom and Boy. She likes being with them, and She will be anxious to hear that K'sBoy is just fine. Wouldn't it be great, Coffs, if all our beloved grandchildren were just fine? I agreed with Her on that.
She is getting even more excited about Her trip to OperaGirl's house. I didn't think She could get more excited, but She told me that it is more than just visiting with these beloved people. She thought She would not be able to travel any more, since there are things that make it to hard to get around. She said it was because of Eddie's Movie. Just BELIEVE, Eddie said. So She did, and now She is ready for the adventure. She still wishes Smudge'sMom would be able to go - but She understands how that would hurt M's feelings, and She doesn't want that.
I'm glad She names cats after things She likes - unless they already came with good names, like Kasey and Charlotte. If I had to name a cat, I think I would call him Snuggles. Or Kibbles. Or Pets. Those are things I like. More news tomorrow, Chow.

Tickled-Pink Cats!

How could we not be the happiest cats in the world today! LW had her scans to be sure her sickness was still gone and IT IS! A guy named NED told Her and She and He could not stop smiling about it! You know how the house feels when we are all happy? Like we don't mind the rain, and everything tastes a little better! Even Kasey is excited, because LW is the MagicCatGirl's sister, and Kasey loves her.
She is also dancing because Her beloved Eddie's movie might get a big award. She Hopes he will, because that movie is really good.
Today She was going to take Katy'sBoy to see a doctor, but Katy'sMom said to wait for awhile. They are still going to another doc tomorrow. She is excited, because She will hear about Katy'sMom's new job, which will be nicer for her.
It is good that there are nice things going on, because She is so worried about Him. He hasn't been sleeping, remember? Well, His doc gave Him this medicine, and She read all the warnings. One warning was about how the elderly might have a problem with it, and He IS elderly, even though He doesn't act like it. Another thing is that it can cause bad dreams. Even when a person is awake. That's what happened last year when He lost His thinking. His head was full of things that were like dreams. If He has even one bad dream, She is pouring those pills down the sink!
That's enough about worry. We are going back to celebrating now. Loud purrrrs for LW.

Week-to Go Cats

Today, Her singing was all about only having to wait a week to see Her OperaGirl, Her OzGirl, Her StefferGirl and Her Eddie. She and He had a discussion about whether She should plan out what She wants to say to Eddie, or just wait until She sees him. He says She should wait. I'll tell you how it went when She gets back.
But WAY before that, I can tell you about our busy day today. She woke up early - for Her, and got busy right away. She had to get Her hair cut, She said, or OperaGirl would think it was Cousin Itt who was visiting. I think OG is too young to know who that Is. I had to ask Him, myself. If you don't know about Cousin Itt, ask your grandparents. Then She went to get Her phone fixed. It hasn't worked since She lost the back of it a long time ago. She wants to have Her phone in New York, although I don't know why. So the guys couldn't fix it, and told Her to get a new one. What is the world coming to, She asked Him. She didn't buy one there, because they cost too much money. I'll let you know what She does about it. She decided not to buy any new clothes, since Her closet looks like a costume shop now. Still, She wants to look nice for all Her NY grandchildren.
It is thundering now. I had better go and check to see if the closet is nice and dry. Cheery-bye.

Medi-Cats

Yes, we offered a consult on why He isn't sleeping so well, but He chose to try His other docs medical advice. He went to see her and got some new medicine, which has Her grinding Her real-and-fake teeth!Our advice was to take the stuff you take for sneezing and snoofing. We know it makes Her sleepy if She takes it. The doc gave him sleeping medicine, and She is afraid He will lose His thinking, like He did before. She is ready to go away next week and doesn't like to worry about His thinking while She is gone. She showed me how to dial 9-1-1, but my paws are too big.
One thing She has done to get ready for Her trip is to get some Twix candy for Her beloved Eddie. Eddie is afraid to eat too much candy, because he thiinks he would get fat. She scoffs at that, because Eddie is a dynamo, like Her OperaGirl. Always on the move - not like Her - always on the sit. (snerk) Don't tell Her I said that. It might sound rude. At least blame Kasey for it, if you have to tell.
We worked at home today, but tomorrow will be different. She is getting a haircut, getting Her phone fixed, and maybe even getting a prezzie for OG, who will be taking care of Her for a lot of days. She will be knackered. But today, She is fine, and ready to fix a nice dinner for Her and me. I must go check out this process. Sy-o-nara.

Long Weekend Cats

I already told you that yesterday was a special day. Turns out, it so special that you get an extra day off if you are a worker. At least some workers do. He said the store workers were there. So, when you don't have to go to work, it is called a long weekend. Here is what we do. We don't have a to-do list on a long weekend extra day. They both did stuff today, but only things they wanted to do. She was doing computer stuff and talking to friends on the phone. You can guess, probably, that He was sleeping. His sleeping so much has Her worried, but I told Her I think His mother wears Him out. He is so sad when He thinks about her that it is easier to sleep. You, know, She says, I think you're right, Coffs. You should see Him when His mother is on the phone. Poor Him.
Another thing She did today was to start reading a book. She loves to read, but Her old eyes get tired, She says, and the words get all fuzzy. Did you know that old eyes sometimes get clouds in them, and when they get too bad, someone takes them off. Her doc says they are not bad enough yet. I wonder what the doc would say if his words got all fuzzy. I know She will read more of the book, because it is a funny mystery. Did you ever hear of such a thing? Smudge'sMom will like it, She told me.
He is making a salad for His supper, and tonight They will finish the silk pie that LW'sMom made. I learned a new word about that pie. It is luscious, He keeps saying. The way He says it, I know it is a good word. Have a lucious evening. Bye, now.

Mexi-Cat

This was a busy day, for a Sunday. It is a holiday here where we live. It turns out that we once would have been English cats, like our cousin, Ollie. Instead, some smart guys told the Engl;ish guys we did not want to have a king tell us what to do anymore. They had a fight, and the English guys lost. This was a long, long time ago, even before She was born. So today people celebrate it as if it were our country's birthday. When it gets dark, people shoot off fireworks. That is a very scary time for Cats. It sounds like thunder and lightning. He and She keep us safe, but I pity poor Katy and the cats who go outside. They could get fireworks on them. One thing She always worries about is fires. Fireworks probably won't catch things on fire tonight, because of all the rainy rain. Where we live, there are lots of kinds of people and cats. Today She stold me I am a Mexi-Cat, because of what we had for lunch. It was called a burrito. She says it means little donkey, but it is actually not a donkey at all. It is a rolled up tortilla with beef and beans and cheese. She gave me a little taste, and I liked it, so she gave me a piece to lick, and I licked all the taste off of it. Kasey sniffled it, but she didn't want any. Kasey is very fussy about what she eats. Kasey's favorite is MY kibbles. I think we will be Ameri-Cats after the spicy taste goes away. Happy birthday, USA.

Potato Chip Cats

I don't think I have ever had a potato chip before. When She came home from Her errands today, She gave me a piece of a salty potato. It didn't look like the potatoes She makes. Kasey snifled it and walked away. I was more daring. I sniffled it, carefully licked it with the tip of my tongue. It was OK so far, so I picked it up. I played with it for awhile, then spit it out. For some reason, that made Her laugh. It still looked the same, but I had all the salt off of it, so I buried it under the collar of Her dress. She was laughing so hard it scared me, so I jumped down. It was quite an adventure, let me tell you!
He was looking around for something to eat, and said He wished there was some more of that stuff LW'sMom made. She said oink oink to him. She said it was the short way of telling Him it was His own fault there was none left. She is acting kind of silly today.
Poor Him. His mother called 6 or 7 times already today. He talked to her 3 times. His mother says she wants to move from where she lives. She told Him to tell her heaven would be nice. That puzzles me, because She doesn't even believe in heaven, except for some cats and dogs. He Looked at Her as if He didn't understand Her, either. I'll have to ask Her about it later.
They are going away to have something to eat with Cleo's Dad, so I'll be happy with my beloved kibbles. Poodle Tip (Get it?)

Fun With LW's People

Another day of rainy rain rain, but it didn't keep us from having a fun day. After She got some things out of the way, She was dancing around while waiting for LW and her family. If you knew how hard it was for Her to dance around, you would realize what that means. She was right chuffed that they were coming, and so anxious to see if LW's biggest sister, the Cat Magic Girl, would like her birthday presents. When they got there, LW'sMom brought a beautiful dinner. It smelled wonderful, even if it was all made of vegetables. It was just like LW's people to be thinking about Her AND Him when they brought things to eat. It will be easy to fix this evening, and it will be hard to save room for the pie that LW'sM also brought! And it is ALSO made of stuff He can eat. You can guess that She is as happy as can be. What a lucky human She is!
The CatMagicGirl worked her spells on Kasey, and even made Kasey purr. Kasey never purrs, except sometimes for Him. She has never heard Kasey purr. Today, she purred.
To make Her keep feeling happy, Her OperaGirl has made some plans for when She goes to OG's house. OG is an excellent planner, She says, and every plan has worked out perfectly, so She is sure these plans will, too.
I am not as fond of vegetables as He and She, so I'll go and have my kibbles and a nice cool drink of water. Chow for now.

Dry Cats

It has been raining here all day. It has been the kind of rain that you are glad you don't have to go out, and can stay dry and comfy inside. Kasey and I were actually nice and cozy, and He was sleeping most of the day - but She had to go out in the rain! It was time to go back to Her dentist, to see if the fake teeth will fit. I don't think She knew that they would give fake teeth for all the empty spaces, but when She tried on the wax ones, She was surprised to see they fit all of them in there. She is already planning on an adventure in chewing, once they are all fixed. One thing is kind of too bad. She won't have her new teeth before She goes to see Eddie and Her OperaGirl. Oh, well, they are both good about finding nice things about people. She will try to find some inner beauty to take along. (Snerk)
She had planned to go to the store after the dentist, but the rain was too rainy. She will try again tomorrow. LW will be coming tomorrow, and She is sad because She didn't get any nice things for them to eat. I guess She used to be good at that. But LW'sMom will bring food. It is a specialty with LW'sMom, and She says it is time for the young people to take over, anyhow. She will be so happy to see if LW's biggest sister likes the birthday present.
I wish there was still some leftover fish tonight, but between Her and me, it is all gone. Well, kibbles are good, too. I'll report tomorrow on LW's visit.
