All's Well Cats

This is a beginning and an ending day. Her OperaGirl is back in our country, ending a marvelous trip to see Our Eddie and Our OzGirl, and Smudge'sMom and Dad are back in the place where we live, ending a bunch of wonderful trips to different sides of the country, and celebrating that they saw two big oceans. LW'sMom is beginning her work to help people's feelings while they are in hospital, which is a job that is harder than being a doc. People who are sick need a very caring person to help them and their families to feel calm and peaceful instead of worried. If anyone can do this, LW'sMom can.
She found some money in Her bank, because some of the numbers got twisted up, and She found an extra bunch of money. She did a happy dance for a few minutes, but then She sat at Her computer and spent it. Kasey and I were laughing so hard we thought She would hear us, but She was too interested in saving money on bargains that She didn't pay any attention.
There is a kind of food named gumbo that They both like, but They haven't had it for a long time, because it comes with a kind of rice He has been trying not to eat. His numbers have been good lately, so She will fix it for Him as a treat. That suits me, because gumbo has nice gravy in it. TTYL

Serious Cats

Yes, this is another Day. This one is called Memorial Day, and that means that we need to take time and think about the many kinds of soldiers that have died in wars. It seems that humans have a lot of wars and a lot of soldiers. I am glad that He and She can't be soldiers, although She says He was a soldier a long time ago. He was a Marine kind of soldier, and He says they are a very good kind. We are so lucky that we don't have to honor Him today, because He came home without being killed in a war. She says Hana'sUncle was that kind of soldier, and He and She are glad he came home safely, as well. He says Semper Fi. She says that is a thing that these Marine people say. Because this is a day about death, we have to be serious. Kasey and I mostly slept all day and won't do any mischief until tomorrow.
Her beloved OperaGirl is done with seeing our Eddie very far away, but she won't go straight home. She will go to the city where Eddie lives when he isn't doing shows in French, Her OG wants to live there, too, and is finding out about how she will do that and have a place for our cousins that live with her. When OG is all moved there, She says She will go to see her. I don't see how She can, because She can hardly move around here, but She says, Cofs, you gotta believe. I'll think about that while I wait for dinner to get ready. O-Revwar

LW Cats

Yesterday it was all about our human cousin, LW, who had her birthday tea party with Her. Oh, She was so excited, and happy to be having that kind of day. She brought LW's birthday present which was a great big panda bear, and LW liked it and named it Fluffy. It was such a treat to spend time with LW, and to get hugs from LW's big sisters. She brought along a CD for LW'sMom, but in all the hug-citement, She forgot to give it to her. Maybe next time.
Sunday is the birthday of one of Their favorite friends who lives very far away - so far that her eyes can see an ocean. That friend used to live right near us, but like so many friends, She moved away. Since she moved, He and She have been to visit her, and also She and Smudge'sMom went on an airplane to her house. It made Her quite chuffed to talk with Her friend. The best part was that they all reported feeling fine.
Every so often this computer can't find the place where I write my stories. That happened again yesterday, which is why you had to wait to hear about LW. It is just as well, because not very much has happened today, except for that most excellent phone call. Now She just have to wait until Her OperaGirl gets back from visiting Eddie, so She can hear things about that. In honor of Eddie, I will say Ah-dyoo.

Good News Cats

There is a lot for Her to be happy about today. First of all, it is Domino'sMom's birthday, and we really like birthdays around here. The next thing was that He got some money back from buying a smaller car. It should also save money because it gets farther before He has to buy new gas. It is what you need to buy to make both of the cars go, and the farther you can go before you have to buy more, the better They like it. She was also very excited to see that Katy'sBoy passed his classes so he doesn't have to take any more tests this school year. I bet there were five stars on Her fortune today.
She expects to have five stars tomorrow, as well. She is taking LW to her six-year-old tea party, and that is one of the things that gets Her up and singing. There is a very special place that is for ladies to have a tea party. Not everyone knows about it, but the people who do think it is very cute. She feels sure LW will like it. He thinks LW will like her birthday present, too. I'll tell you how it all works out.
A big box of fish arrived yesterday, so She will be able to continue her plans to have fish every Friday. It takes Her back to when She was a little girl, v-e-r-y long ago. She has been talking a lot about when She was a little kid. I guess old people do that to prove they remember things. I never think about when I was a kitten. I like things better now. TTYL

MediCats

Today She had to go to the doc. It is what She has to do to make sure She doesn't run out of Her medicines. The doc said She is in amazing health for an old lady, but the doc understands about how She doesn't like to walk, or go out, even. The doc signed a paper for Her, so that She can get a close parking space when She goes to the store, or out to eat. After She got home, She got the paper ready to send to the guy who gives the tags for a close space. She was very chuffed to get that paper.
When She goes to the doc, they have to check to see if all Her insides are working right. To do this test, She has to go without eating anything. Not even Her coffee-the-drink or toast with (ahem)butter. When She got done at the doc's, She stopped at a hamburger place and brought home this giant hamburger and a giant drink. It was a great lunch, but it made Her not so hungry for our dinner. Maybe She did fine at the doc, but it was a hungry day for me.
She was tickled pink that Smudge'sMom came to Crones last night, even if no one else showed up. Crones are very busy people. Smudge'sMom brought Her the best thing from Her visit to where Smudge'sBoy and Her OperaGirl live. Can you guess why She loves it? Think CATS. She had a nice time, even if no other Crones showed up. And She had a nice chocolate cookie, as well.
I guess I'll go fill up on some kibbles now, since dinner will be sparse. So long for now.

Early Cats

We got an early start today, because He had to go pick up His fixed car, then go get His blood checked to make sure He is fine. She is going to get checked tomorrow, so we'll have another early day. All this early morning business gets me confused, and I forget to go get my butter from Her fingers. She seems to know when I am mixed up. She puts a glob of butter on a piece of clean paper, and I can go lick it up when I remember. Unless Kasey remembers it first. Kasey won't take butter from Her fingers, but she likes to lick up the butter on the paper, if I don't remember in time. Kasey is like that.
She is going to Her beloved Crones tonight. She is chuffed that there will be a new person there.
She hasn't heard from everyone yet, but She is sure everyone will remember. It is the end of the school year, almost, and people will be a little more free. Do you know what the end of the school year means? It means there have been eleven years since She retired. She never expected to be around this long after the year 2000, but She is glad She hung around. She has seen so many of Her little ones grow up, and has made lots of new friends - including Her beloved adopted grandson, Eddie.
Getting up early makes a cat a little knackered, so I believe I'll have a little nap before dinner. Later, gator.

Thinking Cats

I guess you know what this day is. It is the day of the meeting of the Thinking People at Sabra's house. Sabra'sMom was not there because she was on one of her wonderful journeys. Their good friend, the Stone Crone wasn't there, either, so another good friend brought another movie about the guy who thinks that everything makes sense. They just loved that movie, almost as much as they loved the last one. Of course, She was the only lady there, so She talked the most. She loves Her Thinking People.
Of course We were thinking a lot today, too. Today is the birthday of LW, who was born six years ago today. Since She was there when LW was born, She feels even more special about LW's special day. That little sweetheart has had more trouble in her six years than the rest of us put together, but now she is healthy and strong, and has two cats to play with. She loves LW's sibs just as much, even though She wasn't there when the others were born. She will go to take LW for her six-year-old tea party, the same as She did with the other girls. It makes Her so happy to do that.
The only tiny little worry She has is the IRS people have not sent the letter They need. Why is there always some worry to keep a day from being just perfect? I will help Her think about that right now. Toodles.

Mobility Cats

Do you know what mobility is? It is how you get around. Kasey and I have great mobility. We can run, jump and climb to high places. Even He has great mobility for an old guy. He can kneel down on the floor and it is easy for Him to pick things up. The one with the problems in Her mobility is She. Her mobility is more like a turtle's. She can walk OK if everything is straight and level. She can sit and stand up if everything is right, even if it is sometimes hard for Her. When She has to go up and down a step, She needs to hold something. When there is nothing to hold, She needs a person to help Her. She is so afraid that She will fall that She hardly goes anywhere. No, She doesn't worry that Her old bones will break. She is afraid She can't get back up. Her cane is some help with that. So is the cart at the grocery store. If you saw Her with that cart, you would never know She doesn't go out of our house hardly at all. If there are friends to see, She is at Her best. When She was at Her OperaGirl's house, everything was new and strange, but She did not fall down once! It was such a happy time. I guess for an old lady She does OK, even if She hardly ever leaves the house. I like it that way. She loves to visit on the computer. That way, She doesn't miss out on life while Her mobility keeps her wary.
Thinking People tomorrow! That gets Her out and about. Sy-o-nara for now.

Well-Behaved Cats

There were a lot of things on Her plans for today, but it turned out that it was all different. He and She were not surprised that the world did not end, but They were surprised that All the plans changed. We did not act oofty-goofty, and we did not go and hide, because we wanted Them to know they could depend on us. She was going to go to a meeting today, but She decided not to go. She thought about that yesterday, but today She decided. I am not sure what the problem is, but She says it is over, and She is moving on. She was sad, but She didn't want snuggles because of it. It was sort of a ho-hum thing. Then She was going to go to the place where She gets Her medicine, because there was some waiting there. He volunteered to get it for Her, so there went that idea. I was surprised at what She did next. She fell asleep while working a puzzle. She never sleeps in the day, but I guess She was tired from waiting to see if the world ended and deciding about the meeting.
She is back to the puzzle now, and thinking about LW's birthday. Did I tell you that LW is going to be six years old? It makes Her heart sing to think of LW and how she was born, and now LW is six! Where did the time go, She says, but I don't have an answer for Her. Oh, and She also misses hearing about Eddie. Her OperaGirl and Her OzGirl will tell Her about him soon. Meanwhile, I believe I'll have a snack and check on what's for dinner. Bye Bye.

Baffled Cats

Kasey and I are just shaking our heads. We don't understand what all the fuss is about. Everyone They talk to or computer with are talking about The Rapture. He says it is nonsense, and She laughs right out loud at the idea, but still, They talk about it as if it might happen. It seems that something is supposed to take everyone away when it is time to have dinner, and all the stuff will be left behind. I don't think it includes cats, so what will we do if They get taken away? What She says is that on Her best day She would not qualify to get taken away, because She doesn't believe in heaven. And a lot of other things. You and Kasey are more likely to go than Me, She says. Well, I don't want to go, so I hope He is right. It's all nonsense. It would make life here much easier if His mother would get taken, She says. Don't tell anyone I said that, Cofs, She said.
He has been sleeping almost all day, and She is afraid He is going into one of His low points. He gets low points every so often, you remember. Well, at least He makes sense when He tells Her He is going to lie down because His ears hurt.
They have a movie to watch tonight about some guys that invented some of the places She visits on the computer. It is supposed to be true. I'll stay with Them while They watch. That way, if They get taken away, I'll be there to go with Them. Check back tomorrow, and you will know what happened. Chow.

Three=Star Cats

When She looks at the morning paper, She sees what kind of day we will have by counting the stars in Her future-telling place. Usually, She has lots of stars, which means we will have a great day, but today the paper only had three stars, so we were kind of wary. If you know anything about Her, you know She loves coffee-the-drink. She even named Her favorite cat (ahem) Coffee. So the not-so-good day started with no coffee being ready. He usually gets it ready, because it is hard for Her to reach up enough to pour the water in without spilling. He does so many nice things for Her that She didn't want to be cross with Him, so She said If you put in the water, I'll grind the coffee beans. He had already put in the water, He just forgot to grind the beans, but soon everything was better. She got Her coffee before a headache took over, and it was all uphill from there.
She wants to go and see a movie about pirates, but it only got one-and-a-half stars. The paper was pretty cheap with it's stars today. She will wait and see what Her friend Lizard says. That girl loves the pirate guy as much as She loves Eddie. It may mean She just gets the movie in the mail.
My own day could have had ten stars, because there is fish for supper AND there was a sale on fish, so She ordered more. I believe He and She love fish almost as much al I do. He is allowed to have one meal a week that isn't all vegetables, and all three of us like fish. Kasey doesn't care. TTYL

Relieved Cats

It was kind of a restless night around here. You see, in order to get His new car, He had to show some papers that told what He is allowed to do with His mother's stuff. The car store kept the papers, and He and She were very upset over that. They claim it is a paper you can't give up, because He needs it to take care of things. They were ready to give back the new car if They had to, to keep the paper. Well, He went to the car store and got everything straightened out with some arguing and phone calls, and He has the paper back and He kept the new car. It is Her example of how nothing with His mother is never easy. The new car is very pretty, but it is still very hard for Her to get into, He says He will get a little stool to make it easier. She wonders how She got in and out of those airplanes when She was learning to fly. You know, Cofs, She said, it might be because I was younger and thinner then. Can't fix that now, I guess.
Some people are saying the world is going to end on Saturday, but Kasey and I don't see how that can happen. If it does, I am glad I had all that butter and Kasey had all those treats. I wonder what makes people think that about the world, because people have said it before, and it hasn't ended yet. Well, Mazie did fine in a talent show, and Her OperaGirl is having fun where she is, and Hana'sGran has been to visit Hana, so everything is OK with our world. LW is NED, and Smudge'sMom had a good time where she went and She has met Her beloved Eddie. If the world has to end, at least She can be happy. But I would like to keep it the way it is. How about you?

Great Day Cats

Well, to catch up with Our busy lives around here, let me assure you that the new car will be all His today, with everything signed, sealed and delivered. Well, not actually delivered, because He has to go and get it, which is what He is doing now. It is one more detail of Their lives that is getting back to normal. I told Her i was glad about this, and She said, what's normal anyway, Cofs? I can't explain it, but I can tell the difference.
Her lunch date with Cleo'sMom worked out, and She was so happy about that. She really loves Cleo'sMom and family, so the good food was just an added treat. Some of the food She talked about sounded so good that my mouth was watering. This was another place where you could eat all you want, but you couldn't take anything home, so your poor, hungry cats were out of luck. (ahem)
There is something called politics that seems to get their energy perking. You know that She and He really like this President, and that is what politics means. They like the politics that want to take care of all the people, but there are other politics that think that is not right. When They talk about those people, their voices get loud and They act like They are mad. I'm glad cats don't have politics.
It was a great day, so we are sending a meow-out to all our cousins and their people. Cheers!

New Car Cats

A long time ago I wrote a story about how He had to buy a new car to spend down His mother's money so she could qualify for having a place to live. Well, that didn't work out, because getting rid of money is not as easy as you think. It nearly made Her crazy. Saving money is Her thing, so the new car idea was all the law guy's idea. Well, He never liked that car. He said it was too big, and had more gizmos than he liked. Since His mother won't be able to get the special living, He went and picked out a different, smaller car, and both of Them are satisfied with this. Kasey and I don't ride in cars, but we spend lots of time with Him and Her, and we are happier when They are not worried all the time. They seem more relieved today.
Last week when the Crones went to eat lunch, Cleo'sMom couldn't go. She is hoping that that dear lady will be able to have lunch tomorrow, to make up for last week.She left a message, but I don't know what the answer is. I'll have to tell you later.
To get ready for the new car, He has to clear the space in the garage. He put things out there because the old new car didn't fit. Since the new new car is smaller, it may be in out of the weather. I'll let you know all the news tomorrow, so TaTa For Now.

Restless Cats

After an easy day yesterday, I was not particularly sleepy last night. As usual, She went sound asleep with no trouble. Well, you know how it is. You try to lie quietly and go to sleep, but pretty soon you are tempted to get up and move around. I ate a midnight snack of kibbles, and had a nice drink of water. No good. Still wide awake, so I climbed up on Her and played with Her arm, so She had to pet me. She was too sleepy to shoo me away, so I walked back and forth and settled down in snuggle mode. I was just comfy on Her tummy when all the walking back and forth made Her need to get up for the (ahem) loo. When She came back, The whole process started again, until finally, all of us were asleep. I still feel a bit restless today, so I'll chase Kasey to tire myself out.
One thing She is trying to arrange is to get LW's birthday present to her. Since LW is only a little kid, someone has to drive her to her tea party. I believe it will be She who does it, because LW'sMom is so busy with her schooling that her calendar is full. LW'sDad has to go to work, so getting these birthdays scheduled is quite a trick. Of course, She doesn't care, because nothing is too hard for Her beloved Alphas.
Speaking of Her beloveds, She has to worry about Her OperaGirl. Someone threatened to blow up something in the city where Her OG is visiting. We are all watching for news about that. I have to go watch now, myself. Oddy-ose.

Easy Cats

This is what Kasey and I call an easy day. There were no emergencies, both of them felt fine, and there were pets and snuggles to be had at will. The big IRS problem cannot be worked on today, because the place isn't open - or at least they guess it's not, and there were messages from Mazie. She could be having a fit over something, and a message would come from Mazie, and everything is fine again. We love Mazie, too. She doesn't scare us.
She also found out today that some of Her favorite people, who live halfway around the world, are coming back and will be staying close by. She loves these people very much, and hopes they will come and visit.
Her beloved OperaGirl is over where Eddie lives, and says She is having a lot of fun - after the problems got solved. Her OG will send pictures from there, and later from where Eddie is doing his show. It has been a long time since there has been news about Eddie, except that he is being in some TV shows. Other travelers are Smudge'sMom and Dad, who are visiting in the place where OperaGirl lives, except that OG is far away right now. If She can just be patient, there will be lots to talk about when they all get back.
Did I see Her take one of those little pies out of the freezer? Oh, this easy day is getting even better. Toodles, everyone.

Cats With Toys

This story is about a couple of things, but mostly about toys.It has always bothered Her that we don't play l;ike Her other cats have done. She was all excited about Kasey loving to jump and chase that green mouse on a string that Mazie and LW's big sister taught her to play with, but Kasey has started to lose interest in that. She saw a toy in a catalog that was like a ball with something inside that we might like to chase and poke. It came yesterday, and She couldn't wait to show us. It had many colors, and open places where we could put our paws I was very big, but here's the bad part. Inside were two littler balls with bells in them. That was a very noisy toy. You might have guessed that I was scared of it, and to tell the truth, so was Kasey. Kasey did not expect so much noise. They left it on the floor so that we could get used to it, but finally He had to pick it up and put it away. We have lived here quite awhile now, and She just cannot face the fact that we are not interested in toys. My favorite toy is Her finger with butter on it. Kasey's favorite toy is a treat bag with treats coming out. My best guess is that She will keep trying. Some humans are so hard to train.
There was a show on TV while She ate Her lunch, and She looked so cozy that I decided to take a nap across Her chest. I just love that together time, so I had a nice nap and snuggle. Another good Caturday. Chow, bellas.

Two-Message Cats

This is what happened to make me need two messages: When I finally got a chance to write my story yesterday, this place was shut down. It may have been an accident, or it was too full, or something I can't even think about, but I didn't get to tell my story yesterday. Mostly it would have been about the new keyboard with all the letters, and how Kasey got up on Her chair, while She was in it. Kasey has never done that before, and we were all surprised. Kasey didn't stay long, and She sat very still. I watched from the top of the chair. Does that mean Kasey forgives Her - or more likely, she wanted Her to give her some treats. It was a big deal to us. Also, it rained yesterday, for the first time in lots of weeks, and we were chuffed about that.
Things are a little more tiresome today. There are people called IRS that have you send in money to run the place. Well, IRS said they never got papers about His Mothers payment, and now there was lots to pay. It made Her almost have a fit. She writes the papers on the computer, and She couldn't find the ones from the right time. Right now, She is waiting for the computer people to send Her the right papers so they can fix this trouble. It is making things quite tense around here. I hope She is not too mad to fix some nice fish for our supper. I'll let you know, if they let me tell my story tomorrow. Cheery-bye.

Cats and Crones

Oh, how She loves a day when She will have some time with Her crones! The whole day is good on Crones day. This one was an especially nice lunch, even though some of the regulars were missing. Domino'sMom and Cleo'sGirl were fun to be with, even though they are too young to be Crones. She says they are Cronelets. Smudge'sMom always makes Her feel good. Besides the nice food and the fun conversations, She got a new computer keyboard from Domino'sMom, and pretty soon, He will plug it in for Her. And me. I was looking it over, and you can see every letter. If there are any wrong letters after this, it will be just because She didn't hit the right letter, not that She couldn't tell where it was.
She has been asking Her GardenLady about growing some tomatoes in that upside-down garden bag, and She has learned just what to do. It will be funny if She grows tomatoes in that strange way, but if it works, He will be very happy. He loves tomaties. She does, too, but with Him a day without tomatoes and onions is a sad day. Since this will be outside, Kasey and I will have to watch through the window, because we don't go outside. As a matter of fact, we don't eat tomatoes, either, although I have shared some tomato sauce with Her before. It is OK, but I would rather have fish, as you may have guessed.
Smudge'sMom and Dad are going on a trip, so we will miss them, but She will watch for news on Her computer. I have to go check on dinner now, so I will say TaTa.

Knackered She

She told us She had a couple of errands to do, and She was gone one hour and fifteen minutes. When She came in, She was so knackered that She had to sit down before She put things away. I think that is how old people are. But then She got a minute's rest, and She was OK. She had some meat that She thought was all sliced up, but it wasn't, so She had to slice it and put it in the freezer. She also got some more of Her beloved Root Beer, but She forgot iced tea.Well, there is enough for a couple of days. She got a container for LW's birthday present. If you know Her, you know that She doesn't wrap presents, She puts them in containers. Well, this one is good to go.
Her computer put in an update while She was gone, and now She can't find anything. That's progress, She said. Progress comes along and we have to run to catch up. I didn't have any trouble finding my stories, so I'll help Her, don't worry.
After She checked up on all Her friends, She got kind of knackered again, so She went to rest and work some crossword puzzles. She says they will make Her brain keep working. She is sure She doesn't want Her brain to turn to mush. If it ever does, though, Kasey and I will take care of Her, and so will He. She works puzzles every single day, so that probably won't be necessary. I think I'll go get some snuggles now. Toodles.

Keyboard Cats

I'll tell you a little secret about Her. Her fingers don't always work just right. She says they never have worked right, and between Her bad eyes and Her undependable fingers, it is just good luck that She can type at all.One day She told Him a story about when She was in school. She said She took typing, because She thought it would be useful in college and in work. Well, She was terrible at it, and was not doing well at all. She was not used to this, since school classes were usually easy for Her. When it was time for Her school choir to go on a trip, She gave a plea to Her typing teacher to not give Her a bad grade, or She would not have been allowed to tour with Her choir. The teacher said OK, but don't ever tell anyone who taught your typing class! She went on the trip, and has never told anyone. You can trust Her. So Domino'sMom is giving Her a new keyboard that will be easier for Her to type on - for both of us!
Another thing that will help is that She will have Her eyes fixed, like Hana'sGran did, and maybe when Her eyes are fixed, She won't be so bad. And maybe She even won't fall down so much. It isn't until school starts again after the summer, but I won't forget to tell you about it!
She says She feels lucky that so many people give Her encouragement and new stuff. Now don't go and tell anyone about Her typing secrets, OK? Chow for now.

Cats and Moms

This is another special day. It seems as if there is one every week. Well, this one is for loving our moms. Kasey and I were born to different moms, and we don't remember them very much. Right now, our mom is She. It is She who gives me all the snuggles I want, and gives Kasey more treats than a cat should get. Just so She would know how much we love Her, He went out and got Her some candy from us. To hear the fuss She made about it, it must have been some really special candy. She knows not to give candy to us, but we do have a little nip of the flowers He gave Her because She has a whole bunch of Grandchildren, as well as two adorable cats. (ahem).
He went to see His mother today, and gave Her a nice card. He gave her some candy, too, but not the fancy kind Her got for Her. His mother did not know it was a special day, but He said she liked getting a card. What She wonders is how long a person can live when her brain is turned to mush.
Her OperaGirl is off for a visit to a faraway land to do her helping sick people walk, and She is very excited for her. You might know She has been to that faraway place a bunch of times, too, and She would be glad to do a long walk to help sick people, but She would have to use Her cane, or maybe her walking machine. One thing that would be easy for Her, though, is seeing Her beloved Eddie, even if it wasn't for six times, like Her OG.
There is a nice spot of sun on the floor, so I must go lie down now. Cheers.

Just Another Caturday

As you can see, I have changed the name of this day to Caturday. It is because He and She play with us more today than other days. Kasey gets more treats and I get more pets, and I don't know why.Partly, it is because this is the day when They stay in and leave the outside world to people who can't do errands any other day. No, actually, He did go out for something, but it was because tomorrow is another special day. And then They watch TV while They eat lunch, so a cat gets in a few more snuggles.
She was busy straightening out a problem with the mail. You remember that She buys most of Her things from the computer guys. Well, one box didn't come, and when She complained, they said the mail guy delivered it. She has been trying to track it down ever since. She had to nag them again today, because if it was lost, there goes all that money. Nothing gets Her more upset than that.
She is really excited for Her beloved OperaGirl, because tomorrow Her OG is going to where Eddie lives to raise money for curing a disease. When she is done with that, she will meet Her OzGirl, and they will have lots of fun together. I am sure She will get updates and pictures, and She will be plenty chuffed about that.

Cat Surprises

I know She was surprised last night. She was sound asleep when I got up on Her tummy and got nice and comfy. Of course I had to wake Her up to do that, because a cat needs a few pets to settle down for a nice sleep. The reason that She was surprised is because I don't sleep right on Her very often at night. Mostly I sleep by Her head, but I had a bad dream, and needed to feel Her breathing so I could feel better. It all turned out OK. Both of us went back to sleep and the dreams were OK after that.
Kasey got a surprise. It was about His pillow. A while ago, She got Him a soft pillow that was long and squishy. He sleeps on His side, mostly, and He could put the pillow under His arm and under his knee. It has bothered Kasey when she goes in to sleep on her beloved blue blanket. She said she isn't scared of it, but I didn't believe her. Because it makes a dent where you step on it, Kasey was confused. But today's surprise was that Kasey got her whole self on the soft pillow and let herself sink into it, and now - Good luck to Him if He wants His pillow back. Kasey left a cat-shaped dent in the pillow, but when she went back, it was gone. I think it is a magic pillow.
And finally, I will be surprised if we don't have fish for supper, because I saw her letting some unfreeze. Nom nom - fish - nom nom.

Cats and Prejudice

Some people make up their minds that they don't like someone before they even know him or her. I learned that we all have our own feelings about things - such as I don't like loud noises, and Kasey doesn't like to be picked up. I don't know where my feelings came from, but She says it is all about learning. When you don't like someone or something, it is because you haven't learned about it. At least that what She says. One day He and She went away to a country where They had learned not to like the people, and the people there had learned not to like Them. When They got there, everyone was nice, and everyone treated them fairly, and after awhile, they learned that They liked each other. Today She is upset that a teacher said something very unkind to a girl in the class, and She is very sorry for the girl. She says it is like bullying to say unkind things to people and cats. Of all people, teachers should know better. What if people said unkind things about you because you are fat, or short, or believe certain things, and it turns out you are nice after all? That would mean they would miss knowing how awesome you are.
She is thinking about Her friends and how they don't like bullying and being unkind. It makes Her feel cozy to know that. But I asked Her, what if I really don't like something and haven't learned to like it? She said that it would not excuse me from being kind, even if all I could do was politely walk away. I believe I can do that - and Kasey already does. Have to go get a nice drink of water now. So long.

Festive Cats

We are festive today, first of all because it is the birthday of one of our favorite guys. LW's brother turns fifteen years old today, and She remember when he was a toddler. That is the human form of kitten-with-eyes-open. As each of his sisters came along, and everybody's name began with the next letter -J,K,L and M, these children became Her Alphas. Each one is very special to Him and Her, but this is the first one, and They celebrated his birthday with cookies and tea. Of course, He can't eat cookies, but He raised His glass of tea to honor this precious boy. Don't worry - We'll celebrate in person one of these days.
Another festive thing was that a nice friend came to visit. She gets especially lonesome for people to visit, since She almost never goes out, except for lunches with Her friends. This lady was especially nice. Even though she has a big dog and a little dog, she loves cats. Kasey and I could tell this, so we broke our closet rule about visitors and came out to see the lady. I got close to her and purred, but Kasey embarrassed me by trying to get into the lady's purse. The lady and She just laughed at Kasey for that, but I went and hid. I came back later - so that visit had a happy ending.
There were packages in the mail, too. Things for Her present-closet, a book for Him, and some tomato growing things. I double checked the box - but there was nothing for cats. Hmmph. Well, She is reading a catalog, so I'll go and tell Her I forgive Her. TTFN.

Good Time Cats

This has been quite a day, to hear Her tell it. Since She was having lunch today with Hana'sGran, She hopped out of bed as if She didn't have any aches and pains. She was singing while She got ready, and I thought She might forget to bring something home for Her beloved cats. (Ahem) It turns out She brought home a lot of Her lunch. I could smell shrimp in it, so my hopes are high for our dinner. She told Him He was lucky He didn't go along, because She got so busy talking that She choked on Her food, and H'sG and another nice lady had to help Her start breathing right. She said that H'sG is such a good friend that she acted like it wasn't a big deal. Well, Coffs, She told me, there are only a few people you can depend on all the time, and Hana'sGran is one of them.
When She got home, there was some business to take care of. You know how She buys stuff on the computer? Well, one package didn't show up, so She has to check all over the place to see what happened to it. If She doesn't end up getting that package, She will stop buying from that company, except I don't think it is their fault. The delivery guy said he delivered it, so the company did their part. She is just mad. She'll get over it.
Right now, everyone is happy and doing fine, so I think I'll have a little snooze. Later, Gator.

Cats and Odd News

When He and She turned on the news last night, They were surprised to hear about a bad guy getting killed. The news guy said people were celebrating, because they had been after this bad fellow for around 10 years, because he had caused a lot of nice people to die. She said She was glad he was caught and killed, but She also said it is against what She believes to be glad someone got killed. It made Her very mixed up. Anyway, ever since Kasey and I were born, this country has been killing people and getting our people killed. If killing this bad guy will stop that, it will be OK, but He says it won't stop anything. One thing She likes is that the President She likes so much has done a very hard thing, getting this guy caught. After the President talked He and She said mission accomplished and laughed. I don't get it, but laughing is good.
Another thing that made Them laugh today is that LW had scans and they turned out to be NED. That means it is good news and They were tickled pink.
Finally today She got Her hair cut, and we can stop hearing about that every five minutes. I have to admit that it looks very nice. Someone said they wanted their hair frosted like Hers, but the haircut lady said that is just the way Hers grows. In the front it looks white, but in the back it looks white and brown. I think She might have some Siamese cat in Her. (snerk) At least She will look nice when She sees Hana'sGran tomorrow. Well. Toodle Pip for now.

Respectful Cats

On a day like this, He and She often talk about spirit things. One of Her forever questions is what it means to be spiritual. She says spiritual is like love. You have to feel it. But She is very particular that spiritual means you look at things a certain way, and that you act in a certain way. That is how it is a lot like love. If you love someone or something, you treat it with respect. She told me that is the spiritual way to act, so Kasey and I need to respect Them and Their rules. I'm fine with that, but good luck getting Kasey to act with respect. I'll tell you who Kasey respects. Kasey.
So how does a cat act respectful? Well, you don't bite except when you are playing. If you want pets, you have to be ready to give snuggles. You don't pee on the rug, and you try very, very hard not to gack up thins on their clothes and shoes. She says people respect by not yelling and being mean. You say please and thank you and you send love and energy to your friends. If you have grandchildren, you spoil them and think everything they do is awesome. It makes Her head ache that She does not respect His mother. It is easier for Her to just stay away from the old lady. She is not proud of her, like She is proud of Hana'sGran and LW'sMom and Her beloved OperaGirl - and Him. Those are people that it is easy to respect, so She does. I respect Them, and my cousins and I even respected Cleo and Deena, before they passed away. We are spiritual cats - except maybe for Kasey. nighty night.
