Almost Cats

It was scary - no two ways about it. Some of us had to go into the closet, that's how scary it was. It started with rumbling, then lights began to flash. The rumbling became louder, and there was no doubt that it was thunder. The flashing might have been pretty if it didn't contain so much noise. Then our lights went out. They came on and went off a bunch of times. He and She have flashlights all over the place, so They weren't worried. In fact. Then the lights stayed off. She said it sounds like a rainstorm. He went outside to check. Everyone's lights were out all over the street. The trees were blowing and He said it felt as if it would rain. Since it hasn't rained here in a long, long time, She said, well, all this thunder and lightning are worth it. Then She could hear the rain hitting the windows. She was so excited that She got up to look outside and..........by the time She got to the door, the rain had stopped. It was almost rain. He and She were disappointed, but they had to laugh, as well. Write this down, She said. Today we almost had rain. After awhile, the lights came back on and everything got normal again. Kasey and I came back out for some pets (me) and treats (Kasey). He and She were glad the air conditioner came back on. It would have been really hot without fans or AC. What an adventure - almost. Oddy-ose.
