Amazed Cats

I was up on Her desk when She looked at some stories people had sent Her. One was a picture about a big, fluffy cat that said no no no no no no no instead of meow. That did not sound like a happy cat. I don't actually meow myself, but I make nice little noises - at least that's what She says. I am relieved that I make nice sounds and don't say no no no no, etc. Kasey says meow, and when she sees another cat outside the window, she makes a gurgle sound. It makes Her laugh when that happens. Another picture showed a cat that says meow, but that cat has two faces. The lady that owns the cat says it is not likely that such a cat would live more than a couple of days, but this cat is twelve years old. That is way older than Kasey and me.I am amazed to see a cat with two faces, and I am seriously glad that the two cat faces in this family belong on two different cats.
There is lots of amazing stuff on Her message list. Lots of pictures of Her beloved Eddie, and lots of funny sayings. There was one story that made Her cry. It was about a girl who could not ever hear, but she got something done to her ears and now she can hear. She had never heard her own voice. it was a sweet story. It was happy crying, you know.
Excuse me now. I have to go remind Her to take some pink fish out of the freezer. Cheerio.

Listening Cats

Kasey and I had to do a lot of listening today. First, we heard Him having trouble sending a message, and then we heard Her, telling Him how to fix the problem. We waited for Her to tell Him haha, imagine ME telling YOU how to do a computer thing. But no, She didn't say that. Kasey and I were thinking it, though. Then we heard Her singing. It was because She had a meeting with Hana'sGran. That makes Her sing. When She came home, He wasn't back from the doc yet, so She told me how much love was at that meeting. When He came home from the doc that works on His shaking hands, He said it He was gaining weight due to the new medicine that the doc gave . He needs to quit it slowly. That solves that mystery. I'm glad we listened to that.
Later They had an afternoon snack. He had vegetables and She had a big cookie that Hana'sGran shared with Her. It made Her feel cozy, so I climbed up for a snuggle and a nap. While I was sleeping, it started to thunder. I don't like that, but She was chuffed. She says we need the rain, but why should I have to listen to loud noises in order for Her to get it? The door to the closet was closed, so I had to get on a chair under the table until it finished making noise. I believe tonight we will listen to them talking about the news. It makes both of them jibber sometimes. But we still listen. Toodles.

Bummed Cats

Nothing makes us feel more bummed out than when She is sad. Today She is sad because no one signed up to come to Crones tonight, and so She cancelled the whole meeting. This makes Her worry that Her beloved Crones are running out of steam. That means that it is hard to work into busy schedules. All of our cousins have very busy moms, and that is really nice for them. She says, we shouldn't be bummed, Cofs. Our friends have wonderful, busy lives. She is really happy for that. She was kind of busy today herself, anyway. You see, if His mother doesn't have her name in her clothes, He has to wash them. He got a bunch af labels with His mother's name on them, and then had to find someone to put them into her clothes. Smudge'sMom thinks there might be a lady who will do it, and it is all settled. She was chuffed to get a sweet noted from Mazie today, and then tomorrow She will meet Hana'sGran for some nice things to eat and some good friend-time. And then She has her new eyes to look forward to. Eyes- Look forward - get it? So there isn't any more reason for Her to be sad. I am glad I could point that out to Her, so Kasey and I didn't have to be bummed any more. Whew. Now that that is settled, I will go back to looking out the window for Katy-Next-Door. Oddy-ose amigos.

Answer Cats

This was the day they went to see their thinking people, and it was wonderful to see everyone who was there to solve the big problems. It was His day to have the question, and though She said not to make it about politics, He did anyway. You know how He is. It turned out it was a great discussion, and you know it was great, because it bummed Her out. It was about the way the things are today, and who is really in charge, and how can we stop the problems. Since Sabra'sMom was back from her travels, and she knows a lot about this stuff, She actually enjoyed the whole thing.
Sabra'sBoy had been there to visit, and he left his little dog. He and She said the dog was well-behaved and very cute, but I didn't hear anyone tell Sabra's opinion. The little dog jumped up and sniffled Her all over. Naturally, I had to jump up and sniffle where the dog had sniffled. Just to be sure that She knew who was in charge, I curled up on Her tummy and went to sleep. Take that, dog sniffles. This is what a rel cat smells like,
So we have all the answers for the world. Cats smell better than dogs; this country spends too much money; the rich guys are in charge; the president needs to be more mean, and we should all read a book named willpower. There. Everything you need to know to get through another day. Cheers.

Mad Cats

Well, at least I'm mad. And She is, too. Here's what happened. Yesterday, when I went to write my story, the computer would not let me on. I waited until She tried to connect, but She couldn't either. We were both having a fit. Kasey was relatively unconcerned. We tried every which way, until it was time to have dinner. Luckily, this morning it was fixed. The computer, that is - not the dinner.
So I couldn't tell you what a disappointment it was that She didn't feel so great and didn't go see LW'sMom and the alphas. Boru'sMom called later, and said LW'sMom was a wonderful preacher, and the sibs were all there and adorable. She wasn't surprised, but She said it was nice to hear it anyway. Hana'sGran is going to listen to LW'sMom next week and will send a report.
He is being very busy, since He doesn't have to attend to His mother so much. He is emptying out the tall shed and giving away stuff we won't use and throwing away stuff that isn't any good after living in the shed for so long. Our yard will look so much nicer without all those sheds, although Katy-Next-Door often goes into the tall shed. She must think it is her vacation home. Tonight He is going to a meeting of a club that helps a person lose weight. She will be interested in what His new eating habits will be. I''m not worried, as long as She doesn't join that club. So long for now, friends. I'll be back tomorrow - if the computer is in its right mind.

A Cat Mistake

Everything was going so well. We were up and about. We had our butter and read the paper. She was at work in Her Present Room when I decided I needed some extra pets. She was just fine when I jumped up, and She didn't mind stopping Her computing. She started brushing me, and I lay down on Her keyboard. All of a sudden I had enough brushing, and I gave Her hand a little nip. Not hard, mind you. But still it hurt Her feelings and I was sent on my way. That's a rookie mistake, Cofs, She said as I was leaving, and you are NOT a rookie. I steered pretty clear after that.
So She made some headway on getting things in the right bags, bundles and stacks. At least you can sit down now. At least you can see what you have for every person. You know, it doesn't much matter if you like your parcel or not. She had major fun in finding everything. Now She just has to wait until Christmas. Of course, having the operation on Her eyes will take up a bunch of time, and it won't be long before She is saying Oh, NO. That would have been perfect for......, but I already used up my budget. It happens every year, as well you know.
I know there will be spaghetti for dinner. He was pining for it. so that's what She will fix. I will wait until it cools and have a taste, myself. So, chow, bellas.

Feel Better Cats

This is something that almost never happens. Today, She started feeling kind of pew and told Him She didn't want lunch because her head was aching. If you want my opinion, I think she ate too many of those candies with the m on them. Well, anyway, She got into Her chair, put on Her eye shade and went to sleep. I curled up on Her and purred, because that always makes Her feel better, no matter what. When I went in and checked on Her, She was fine, and looking at - you guessed it - a catalog.
Now that He does not have to take His mother to appointments, He doesn't need the big car that has room for a wheelchair. He is thinking of going to look for a car that will fit into the garage again. The one He has now doesn't fit anywhere, in Her opinion, and needs a step for Her to get in.
She is probably going to Her church on Sunday, because LW'sMom will be giving the talk, and maybe LW and her sibs will be there. You know She loves those kids. She has a while to decide if She is willing to get up so early. That makes Her laugh, because it used to be rare if She missed going to the church before. Things change, Cofs, She said to me. Things change.
Don't ask me if I'm excited about dinner tonight. She got a special kind of fish for him. They are round with bacon wrapped around. Nom Nom. He just loves that kind of stuff. I'm going to check on Her now. TTYL

Lovey Cats

It was a strange night. Kasey and I are not used to seeing Them go to bed so early. They had to get up early because the clean rug was coming back. The guy was going to bring it very early, so They had to get up and look like They were ready to see the clean rug. Anyway, during the night, when I usually give Her a massage, last night I had to give Her two massages. She was wondering why, since I had plenty of food and water. I don't know myself, except that I wanted a ton of loves and snuggles and pets. Kasey was kind of strange, too. Kasey would chase me, then I would chase her. We did this all day until we were tuckered out. Lucky for us, it was quiet after the rug guy left, so we could get a snooze. I'm nice and awake now, and wondering what's for dinner.
Here is something even more strange. She didn't feel like buying anything from Her catalogs today. Maybe She has already bought everything, or maybe She was just too sleepy. I'll keep an eye on Her and let you know.
It is unusual that He doesn't have to go have lunch with His mother. He bought labels to put into the old lady's clothes so He doesn't have to go and do her laundry. He and She will iron the labels in when they come, and She will be glad that there is one less job for Him to do. I think I will find out what She is doing and maybe get a few more snuggles. Bye now.

Civil Cats

On thing that has Her bothered is how people forget to be civil. What She thinks is that everyone should be nice to one another. That includes cats, She tells me. I'm not sure Kasey understands, but I try to be civil until Kasey tries to sniff my tail. Even then, I don't hiss or boff. I just look mad and run away. It seems to Her that being rude and lying have become jokes. You know She likes jokes, but She thinks being rude and lying are not funny to her. Just look at the commercials, Coffs, She says to me. People lie and think it's funny if you wore someone's clothes and didn't tell them. What would it take for everyone to be civil to each other? She wonders. If there are people you don't much like, you don't have to be friendly. That would be lying. But you can be polite, or just ignore them, She says. Do you know that some children are so rude to each other that it makes them hurt themselves? That makes Her so sad That She decided She has to do something about it. She tells everyone to be civil, and that includes the people who run the country. I'll tell you how Her plan goes. And I'll try to tell Kasey.
There is a nice pizza in the freezer, and She wants to fix it for Their dinner tonight. I'll listen to Her when She tells me it's too hot this time. No more burned tongues for me. Later, Gator.

Settled Cats

Today was about getting His mother settled in her new nursing home. They hope to keep her safe and confined, so she isn't taking other people's stuff, or hurting herself. He is very chuffed about having that all dealt with. There are some other good things as well, since He will get some money back about all this moving business. Now He can finally relax.
Katy Next Door was visiting in our back yard today. She likes to have a snack back there, and today she did something strange. She ran into His shed and I think there was something in her mouth. I wonder if it was a mouse. If it is, she went back to check on it a few times. It will be funny when He goes to clean out that shed and there is a mouse in there. But then, maybe it wasn't a mouse at all. I know it wasn't a bird. Maybe a bug. It is nice to be cozy in here and watch Katy scamper around.
There was no rain today, and all the rain we had didn't amount to much, so we still have the grass too dry. One day He went and got some grass for Kasey to eat in the house. The plant He got me was catnip. I eat a little every day, but I don't get silly from it like Kasey does.
As far as today goes, it has been mostly a good news day, with things being settled. Oddy-ose.

Skip-a-Day Cats

Every so often, I don't get a chance to tell my story. Yesterday was like that. It was a nice day. By that I mean it rained again. That makes them so very pleased that I have to be cheerful for them. I looked out the window, and the grass is still brown, so I guess it has to rain some more.
They had a wonderful time at Cleo'sPeople's house. They always do. I was right about them bringing home something from that dinner. She is going to fix it for Their dinner tonight, and I will be right there for my sample. He says the meat is so tender that it just falls apart. Cleo'sDad cooked it.
They watched all of the shows that He brought home from the bookstore and He went back to get some more. It was a real discovery, finding mysteries about two ladies who grow flowers. It is kind of new and different, and They just love it. They also like the stories about the French guy who solves mysteries. They say They are mystery buffs.
A little more rain came today. It is better when it comes without all the noise and light flashes, but She says She will take it any way She can get it. It is kind of a good sign, I believe. Well, since He has put down a new bowl of water, I believe I'll have a nice big drink. Sy-o-nara.

Lunchtime and Dinner Cats

During the time when She would be eating Her lunch, She was off with Katy'sMom and Katy'sGirl. It was a trip back to see K'sG's doc, but when they got there, the doc was very busy and it was a very long wait. When they finally got finished and on their way home, there was fixing on the roads, so they took a different way and it took longer. It was kind of fun for Her, though, because it started to rain, and there has not been rain around here for lots of weeks. And She likes to talk with Katy'sMom. The trouble was, both of them were so hungry that all they talked about was having something to eat. By the time She got home, She had to have lunch right away.
She didn't want to eat too much, though, because tonight He and She are going to have dinner with Cleo'sPeople. It is great joy to get together with those people. Cleo'sMom is being careful not to get the kind of sickness He has, where He can't eat sweet things, so They got special things to have for dessert that don't have sugar. I peeked at them, and they look really good. I bet Kasey seven kibbles that She brings home something for me to eat.
So it has been the kind of day that is about friends, family and fun. And rain! He and She are so chuffed about the rain, even if there was just a little bit. I think I'll have a nap until They come home. (Yawn)'night.

Protected Cats

He and She think things cost way too much money, so He followed the example of Smudge'sMom and got a thing called a warranty. It is a little book that says that if you pay an amount every month, they will pay for a new thing if the old one breaks. Oh, not things like pencils. They mean things like air conditioning machines and big stuff like that. There are people that come every so often and tell us all our stuff is about to break and they can fix it for all the money in the world. A guy came today from the warranty, and he said every thing checks out just fine. First time that ever happened. You know, that air conditioning machine has had to work very hard this summer. He and She just hope it lasts until it gets cool. Then if it goes wrong, They won't melt while it gets fixed.
She misses Her new Nephew. Isn't that funny? She just met him one week ago, and She already misses him since he went back to his house by the ocean. She loved him right away.
His mother keeps getting out of bed at the place where she stays, and they find her sitting on the floor. In the new place, they told him they have ways to prevent that. Maybe beds with sides on them. He will be relieved when she is settled in a safe place. I will be relieved when She fixes fish for our dinner. So everyone is happy. Have a nice evening.

Odds and Ends Cats

This is the kind of day it was around here: a dozen phone calls, a bunch of emails, a lot of checking and ordering and writing in our calendars. The cleaning guy brought the windowshades back, which made me very happy, but the rug didn't cme back like they said it would. You must know there were calls about that. No one went anywhere, but we were busy all day.
She has a lot of things stacked up on Her desk, so it is hard for cats to move around on it. I have made it clear to Her that She needs to work on this. Things are arriving from Her catalog-shopping and She cannot find room for them. I tell Her they need to go into Her gift closet, but She wants to admire them. What I think is that She needs to remember where She puts them. Don't be surprised if Christmas comes and everyone get the wrong present. Well, She can't blame it on me.
So it turned out t be a day when SOME stuff got done, and everyone is ready for a quiet evening.
I am giving a shout out to all my cousins and will go and see what is on the dinner menu. Bye for now.

Cats with Plans

It's as if She wants to have those eyes fixes right away - like today. The guy that makes the schedules gave Her all the dates and times, and the whole operation is not until six more weeks. It was not what She wanted, but it is the best the docs could do, so She will have to wait. There is a note on every eye-related date in Her calendar, and She has told Him what days He will have to drive. He said He will be glad to help Her until the doc says She can drive again. She is so excited by this that She is all a-twitter. If I were She, i would not be wishing time would pass. I have told Her not to wish Her life away at Her age. She says don't go there.
She also had a lovely meeting with Her beloved Crones.Smudge'sMom couldn't be there because
she was on a jury. I don't know what that is, but it's important. Sabra'sMom couldn't come because she is on an airplane going far, far away. She missed them, but She loves the people that were there, and loved their company and their wisdom.
Of course She ate so much at the Crone's lunch today that She is not hungry for Her dinner, so I guess I will have to find something in the kibble area to enjoy tonight. Maybe things will be better tomorrow. Farewell for now.

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

Progress Cats

There were two main things today. One was about Her eye operation, and the other was about His mother. Although She waited by the telephone, no person called for telling Her when the operation is. They did tell Her She has to see Her regular doc first to be sure She can have the operation. Are you kidding? She is so ready for it that it might make Her blood pressure go up anyway!
But He had much better luck about His mother. You know the nice palce where she is now can't keep her locked up enough. Remember? So He found a place that will work, and the old girl can go this week. He is kind of glad about that. I think She is, too, because He won't have to visit as often, and He doesn't have to wash her clothes anymore. His mother doesn't know anything, so I guess it won't matter how often He goes to visit.
A nice thing happened about Her shoes. She found some very comfy shoes that cost a lot of money. She thought that it would be worth it if they make Her more sure-footed. You know how She is. She checked all around and found the same shoes for half the first amount. She is so chuffed. Well, they came, and they are even more pleasant to wear than She hoped. Now, if the eye guy would call, life would be perfect for us all. Chow, bellas.

Cats' Eyes

She is about to dance up and down , She is so delighted with the news about Her eyes. It turns out that Her days of looking at the world through a dirty window are about to be over. Someone will call Her and set up the appointment for when She goes for an operation. First on one eye and later on the other one. Operations would scare me, but She is so happy that it is finally time that She will sit by the phone waiting for the guy to call. They will be talking about this a lot, I bet, because He has to take Her for the operation, then back the next day, then the next week. The doc says She shouldn't drive, even if She thinks She can. Lucky for Her, He is able to be the driver.
After the good news at the eye doc, He and She went to meet Her new nephew where there were really good things to eat. There was a sweet young lady with him, and that is the person he is staying with. The NewN said he was staying with a classmate. He didn't say it was a young lady. Now there were two things to make Her happy today.
Then there is something that makes me happy. She did bring something home from this place, and it is a kind of pink meet that is delicious. It tastes kind of salty, and She puts it in a sandwich. All the meat was in one sandwich, and She brought home enough to make a bunch of sandwiches. That's how this place makes sandwiches, She said. So, a good day all around. Cheerio.

Remembering Cats

Kasey and I don't remember what happened on this particular date, because we weren't born yet. He and She remember, though, and are very sad. Here is what happened. Some guys drove their planes into some buildings and ruined them. What is worse, they also killed a lot of people who didn't do anything wrong. It happened where Her beloved OperaGirl lives and also near where Mazie lives now. There was one other plane, but some brave guys found out what they had planned and stopped them. I think that was a mean thing to do, and it has everyone feeling sad. I'll be glad when this particular day is over.
One nice thing did happen today, though. They got to visit with Her new nephew. They are planning to have another lunch together tomorrow, after She visits Her eye doc. Then he has to go back to where his house is. She sure loves this guy. Even more than Her beloved Italian boys, and that is quite a lot.
I tried the Mexican food last night, and I hope She doesn't make that very often. Just give me some fish, or some sauce or the gravy from those little pies. That will suit me. Cheerio, mates.

Waiting Cats

Today we were waiting for the guy to put the blinds back on the windows, but he didn't come. We also waited for LW and her sisters and they DID come - and brought the movie about Her birthday party that happened a long time ago. She was sure glad to see those girls and their Dad. I thought She would never stop hugging them. She had a present for LW'sMom as well. LW'sMom loves the day they call Halloween, and so She got LW'sM a wind chime with bats on it. It is a long time since He and She saw the girls, and They were both chuffed.
Of course, She had to look at the movie, and start to cry, just like every other time She saw it. LW was so little, and her hair was just starting to grow back from the medicine she had to take for her sickness. She looked beautiful today. Her hair is long and nice. The other girls were so tall and grown up compared to the way they were in the movie. Well, She is going to give it to Her new nephew to show his Dad, who is Her brother, because he is in the movie.
All this waiting paid off, so I can't complain. I am not so sure I will like the dinner tonight, though, because She calls it Mexican food, and I don't remember if I like it. She doesn't fix it very often.
I'll let you know. TTYL

Relative Cats

It was quite a while ago when She learned that Her father was alive and had a nice son. A few years after that, He and She met this new brother, and They all liked each other just fine. Here's something funny: Her brother and He are the same age.She is older than both of them. Well, Her brother came back for Her birthday party, and everything was just fine. She had learned that Her brother had two sons. These were called Her nephews. Guess what happened a couple of weeks ago. One of those boys called Her on the phone and said He was coming to where we live. Today he came. He and She met him at Her Music Guy's son's place to eat. It was a wonderful meeting and the guy was adorable, to hear Her tell it. She loved him right away. Kasey and I think it is funny that She is so old and still finds a nice young man to be Her relative. He lives far away by the ocean, and She is tickled pink that he came all this way to see Her and Him.They had very nice food, but She didn't bring any home. I was happy to see Her take pink fish out of the freezer so I would not be left out. He and She plan to see this new relative before he goes back to where Her brother and he live. This adventure took Her mind off the fires for almost all day. As for me, I can't wait until the shades come back for the windows. I don't like all this light and things to see. I will be happy when things are back the way they were. But I must chase my relative, Kasey, right now. Ah-dyoo.

Bright Light Cats

They are still worried about the fires, but decided to keep getting on with their plans to make the house seem nicer. His big thing was the ceiling cracks, which I told you about before. What troubled Her was the window blinds. They are lovely, soft stuff that feels good on our paws, and Kasey especially loves to feel it. Still, She thinks they should look cleaner, and told Him that it would be nice to find someone who would clean them. So a guy came today, and said he couldn't clean them without taking them away for a bunch of days, and He said OK. So now our house is very bright and light. We can see everything out of all the windows in the living room and we have a better view out the back, where Katy and the birds have breakfast. Katy does not bother the birds, so don't worry about that. She just has her snack and goes to sleep.
It will still be light when They watch the President talk on TV. She feels sad that people think the President should be more bossy. She thinks he makes a good example of grown-up behavior. He thinks the President or someone in his office should be more bossy, and tell people what he thinks. We'll see what he says tonight, but we don't have good hopes that people will like it. You'll hear all about that tomorrow. Keep wishing for rain, please. Cheers.

Alert Cats

The big talk around here today is about fire. There are lots of fires going on not-too-far from where we live, and He and She say don't be scared, but be alert. That is why they took out the boxes to carry cats in, and checked for all the important papers they have. The most important papers are in a box that She says is fireproof. He says we won't take a chance, we will take it with us if we have to run away from the fire. When Kasey ande I saw those cat carrying boxses, we did not like that at all. Some of you might remember that Kasey made a hole in the box they gave Them at Esspeeceeay. That little dickens made a hole big enough for her to escape through, and she doesn't even have any claws. He said Kasey will have to go in the metal carrier. I can go into the cardboard one, because I am more polite. I will definitely not like going away from a fire in a box. Neither will Kasey. He and She say we will be ready, just in case. Since there is no rain, and none is expected, They say we will be alert and hope we don't need to go into those boxes. But if we do, we are ready. Almost.
The part of the carpet by our litter boxes was kind of - well - not very clean. The area has been cleaned up and our litter boxes are on a kind of plastic rug I have to admit, it is nicer. I hope it doesn't all burn up. I'll keep you in the information loop. So long.

Noticing Cats

Here is what we are noticing today: There are lots of parts to living. He had to go to the place where His mother stays, and find out that the old lady needs even more of a locked-up place. It turns out that she is wandering around and going into people's rooms and taking things. Over there, they don't have any place to lock her up, but they know of places that do and He is supposed to find one right away. Here is the thing. His mother does not know how to think anymore, and does not know where she is or anything about what is happening anywhere. Kasey and I believe that when cats get like that, they aren't really alive anymore. Just taking up air. Then we can go. It turns out that people have to stay until the very last minute. We don't want Him and Her to go to sleep forever, but it is mean to make them stay after all their thinking is gone. So far, They still think just fine, and laugh and cry and tell stories and remember things and love people, and They play with Their cats.
Because of all this, She wants Him to have a special dinner, so She is fixing His favorite - spaghetti. It just so happens that I like that, too, as long as the red stuff is not too hot. I almost burned my tongue on that pizza last week! I'll go get Her now and tell Her to start fixing. Chow, bellas.

Labor Day Cats

In my opinion, humans have a lot of days. Today this one is called Labor Day. It sounds as if you ought to do hard work today, doesn't it? Actually, She tells me it is a day to honor people who do hard work. She says that long ag0 bosses were sometimes mean, and workers had to labor as hard as their bosses wanted - sometimes long hours every day. If you complained to your mean boss, you would probably lose the job and not have any money. Also, bosses could pay you whatever they wanted. Somebody got the bright idea to join the workers together and complain to the bosses as if they all were the person with the problem. Bosses couldn't fire them all, could they? If the boss still stayed mean, the workers would all quit working at once, and the boss would have to give in or he wouldn't make any money. These groups were called Unions. There was a problem when some of the Unions got mean, but He and She say people are like that. Mostly they were good and made things more fair for the workers. Now they get a day to stay home from work, unless they work in stores or movies or other places where people go when they have the day to not work. He and She never go to work. Neither do Kasey and I. We celebrated by not doing anything that seemed like labor. Sort of like every other day. (snerk) and we appreciate Unions. Poodle Tip (get it?)

Movie Date Cats

Kasey and I are reporting on something strange that happened today. He and She went out on a date. They usually stay at home and watch movies on the TV, but He saw a movie that got very good marks in the paper, so He wanted to see it at the real movie place. She was kind of lukewarm, but He was so keen to take Her that She agreed to go. It was strange trying to get around the place, but They finally found places to sit and watch a movie. She said it was really good, and She ended up being very glad They went to see it. She was surprised that He liked it so much, because it jumped around back and forth in time and He doesn't usually like those. Maybe He was pleased with it because He and She were on a date.
Yesterday there was another whole pile of catalogs, but She was behaving and not buying more presents. At least so far. She kept them handy and She did turn down some pages. She agreed to sort out what She already has before She gets anything new.
When They got home, I was so glad to see Them that I curled up on Her tummy. That meant She could not get up to fix dinner, so He fixed it all. He does not want Her to disturb me. I hope you all feel special at your house, because Kasey and I feel very special here. Nitey Night.

Disappointed Cats

If you are tired of reading about the way the weather is here where we live, I am sorry, but this is the big story, and it is sad to see Him and Her all ready for a bunch of days of rain and we haven't had even one drop. It is the same today as it has been for the last gazillion days. Sunny and hot. She tells me that one day we will miss this sunny weather, but I can hardly believe it, because everything is turning brown and crunchy outside. Kasey still wants to go out there, but you would have to make me go, and I would scamper back in before the door closed. What She tells Him is to let Kasey go out and that little imp would want back in, but He says Kasey is kind of stubborn, and wouldn't admit she was wrong, and would probably cook. I agree with him, and even I don't want Kasey to cook.
The thing She is fixing for Their dinner is something with cheese in it. Cheese tastes pretty good, so I'll climb up for a taste. It isn't fish but at least it tastes good. Not like those little cabbagey things They like so much. I would say yuck, but She doesn't let anyone say that. She wouldn't le anyone say bored, either. She says smart people and cats don't get bored. They just want someone to tell them something fun to do. People should be like me. I can keep things interesting just by thinking of good things to eat. Well, that's my story for today. O-re-vwar.

New House Cats

The plaster and the painting and the furniture-moving is all done and I have my house back the way I like it. It was very hard to figure why everything was in the wrong place. I stayed in the bedroom most of today and yesterday, but when the fixing guy went home, I came out and got a great bunch of snuggles and had a nap on Her tummy. It is nice to have the house fixed, and it is nice to have the fixing over. She told the guy that it looks like a casa nuevo. He understood that, and was pleased. It has made Him very happy.
Tonight, the kind of fish She will fix is called cod, and that is a kind I like. In fact, there is no kind I don't like, so far. They like vegetables with it, but I am happy with just the fish.I believe it will be a quiet night so they can enjoy their house with no cracks in the ceiling.
The weather made Her disappointed, because there was no rain, and the rain the weather guy promised is going somewhere else. She knows one day it will start to rain and probably not quit. That's the way it seems to work these days. It has not rained here for a long, long time.
Well, I think I'll rest up for our fish dinner. Toodle Pip

Plaster Cats

For a long time, He has been in a tizzy about the cracks in the ceiling. At first He was afraid the foundation was bad and squiggled around to crack the ceiling. Two guys came and each of them said the foundation was fine. She reminded Him that the house had been through two hurricanes, and a little crack in the ceiling was not that much damage. They are tiny cracks where things join together. Well, He and His fixing guy got a nice young man to come and fix those little cracks. He has been working all day, putting stuff called plaster into the cracks to make them look better. Tomorrow he has to come back and paint the new places with paint that matches the ceiling. He will feel so much better to have it done. She and Kasey don't care that much.
She went to the store today to get most of the stuff They will need for this month. It wears Her out to go shopping like that, but now it's done, and She only forgot a couple of things. He likes to go to the store, so He can get the other things. She assured me there were plenty of kibbles. He and She would never forget those!
Here is what has Her talking to Herself - She bought a set of cute rings for the Alpha-girls, and now She can't find them. That's what happens when you shop too early for Christmas - but you'll never make Her believe it. I have to go have a nap now. All this fixing and shopping make me knackered. BuhBye.
