She Played a Trick

What was She thinking? When She went away yesterday, She turned off the computer where I write my stories! I don't know how to turn it on, so there I sat, wanting to talk to you, and no way to do it! I think She was just so excited to see her beloved Crones that She didn't think about it. She told Him it was a wonderful meeting, where they heard about Smudge's Mom's new-found family in Oregon. I don't know where that is, but She said it's farther than where Mazie lives! She heard about Juliette's Mom and her adventures with a new doctor, named Dr. Shoe, She says. I had to laugh at that! Her good friend who had a daughter get married told about an awful adventure with the new groom getting shot in a home invasion! It made me scared when She told Him about it, but She says we are safe, because we don't have anything to steal. I think She is joking, because They have two very fine cats (even if one is rude). Boru's Mom was there, and said the place where they meet has water damage from that big storm I told you about before. That made all the Crones sad. But they cheered up with the cupcakes, She said, and all loved each other.
That's nice, but I have work to do. There are lots of birds to watch today, and a squirrel who needs me to make a mean face at her! Oddy-ose.

It's Raining Cats and.................

Right now it is not actually raining, but you should have been here last night! It rained and thundered and lighteninged and I told Her I couldn't snuggle anymore, because I had to go and make sure the rain wasn't getting in the closet. Once, it even sounded as if a big train was coming to hit us all, and She said it sounded like a tornado. She didn't wake Him up, but She went to look outside. All the stuff in the back yard was OK, so She went back to bed. When we all got up this morning, there was no paper. She likes to read the paper while we have our bagel and butter. She turned on the TV, and saw that neighbors very close to us were getting saved in a boat! That's why there was no paper - because the cars couldn't get down the streets. She told me that if WE needed to get saved in a boat, She and He would make sure we were safe, and not to worry. I felt better after that. One of her friends said we should build an ark, and She said OK, but we will put the tigers on last. I guess that is one of her jokes she has with the Eddie-people. So today, schools were closed and Katy's boy and girl could stay home. It was too scary to go to her thinking friends' meeting, so She stayed home. He went to His school, but He came right back. Too much rain for one day.
I think I'll go get a drink from the silver bowl. Tata.

Mystery

It was a strange day, because She went away early, and before She went, She put a package on the mailbox and a letter, and put up the red flag. I watched Her through the window. When She came back home, the package was gone and the flag was down. She asked Him if He had the package. He didn't know anything about it. She worried, because it was too early for the mail to come, and the package was for Her beloved Mazie! What if the trash people took it? Or the recycle people? She was worried, but there was nothing She could do! After awhile Katy's Mom called Her. I have your package, she said. Katy's Mom saw it and thought it would get rain on it, or something, so she took it to her house to give the mail carrier! Wasn't that the sweetest thing? What a good way for a mystery to end.
I have to go and look out the window some more, because Kasey is looking out, and I want to bother her. (snerk) Toodles.

Sunday in the House with Her

The place He went today was to see His mother, in the place where she lives. He says they always argue, and She won't go at all. He says His mother wants to move here with us. She says, just give me enough time to find a place to live - but I really think She is joking. She would not move away and leave us, would She? Anyway, His mother is in a very nice place, She says, and He says, wait until my school is over, and I will think about my mother. She says that is OK.
So, while He was gone, She and I played mouse. She puts Her hand under the tablecloth, and we pretend it is a mouse. I pounce on it, and She laughs. Laughter is good for you, She says, I like to make her laugh, because it always ends in snuggles. I know it is not really a mouse under there. We are only playing. Sometimes Kasey comes around to see what all the laughing is about, and I have to take time out to chase her. Today, Kasey got up on the pass-through to the kitchen. Then, all of a sudden, she was gone. I thought she had turned into air, but she came walking out of the kitchen. It was a baffling trick, and I don't know how she did it, but I am not going to ask her. You don't think she stepped on the kitchen counter, do you? She knows we are not allowed to do that.
Let me know if you think of anything. I'll wait right here. Later.

Coffee says What?

What is going on around here? It is not a day when He goes to His school, but He has been gone all day! Oh, sure, I still got my kibbles and my snuggles, but I like it when both of Them are at home. She says They are going to Mable's house to eat Their dinner, and Kasey and I will be all alone. If They have dinner with Their friends, They are usually quite cheerful, and so it won't be TOO bad. Another thing I heard was that Cleo is coming back here to visit and play. Her mom and dad have to go far away to get Cleo's girl who goes to college. I will be ready when Cleo comes this time. I have a place in the closet all picked out, and will be sure it is nice and comfy. I will practice my mean face, but I bet Cleo will yawn just like Kasey did. I seem to have a problem being mean, just like He does. And when She gets a mean face, He just laughs. You, know, He is a lot like Kasey that way. Well, I guess I will go and watch for Him to come home. He will be bringing broccoli for the supper at Mable's. I don't care much for broccoli, but They do. Maybe he will surprise me and bring a shrimp or something! Toodle pip.

A Day to Cat-ch Up

This was a good day for catching up on important things. I had to get even with Kasey, for example. I was giving her my best Threatening-to-Fight-With -You look, when she hurt my feelings. Here's what happened: I got all puffed up in my mean-cat shape, and started toward her in a VERY threatening way. I was scowling at her when - Do you know what she did? She yawned! She yawned right at me, and when I looked surprised, she turned around and walked away So today I had to figure out ways to bother her. I can't eat her food, because He puts it up on the brick wall, and I can't jump up there. I can't drink her water, because we both drink the same water. I can't meow at her, because she doesn't care. And I can't really hurt her, because She would not stand for that. Here's what I did. I bothered her. All day long, I got up on the table when she was trying to drink from the silver cup. I wagged my tail, and when she jumped on it, I ran away. I got up on the bed while she was trying to sleep, and biffed her until she ran away to the closet. Then I caught up on some snuggles, watched some pictures of little kittens, and had a nap. Ahh. All caught up! So long for now.

A Cat Left Behind

It has happened once again. Mable's Mom and She decided to go on an adventure - this time to look at Bluebonnets. He says once you've seen bluebonnets, you can stop looking, so He didn't go along. Meanwhile I have NEVER seen a bluebonnet, and once again She went without me. I started to ask Her to pick me up and take me along, but She pretended She didn't understand, gave me a couple of skritches and left. She was gone forever, and when She DID come back, She told Him how much fun they had, laughing and pointing at bluebonnets! One thing She told him was about a little place to eat that they found in "the country" That's the name for a place very far away. This little place was very small, and the people inside were very young, She said, and they had just started this place. She and M'sM thought they were so very cute, and earnest and they were trying so hard to please that it was worth the long drive, just to eat there. She told Him they had chocolate cake and the girl who made it was very proud of it. He said it was a really nice experience, and he would have like that cake. I said hmph, because I would have liked the hamburger! I don't care for cake.
If She thinks I am going to forget this, She is mistaken. I am really considering peeing on the rug! TTYL.

Kittens and Cats

Yesterday, Katy's girl brought over one of Katy's kittens to visit us. The kitten is all black, and they call her Midnight. She has very sharp claws and teeth, but She wasn't scared, and held Midnight on Her chest, right by me! I didn't know quite what to think. I was not scared, but I was not too pleased to have this little kitten so close, and I just looked at her, with a very serious face. Kasey was not there, and we all wondered what Kasey would have done if she saw the kitten. Then today, Katy came over without her kittens, and had breakfast by our front door, while Kasey watched with an angry face. She didn't hiss or anything, because She would have shut the door.
Later, She went to visit with Smudge's Mom, and they went to look at artwork. Mable's Mom was there, and so was Tori-Tzu's Mom. When her friends are together like that, She is really happy, and I am all Hey Coffster when She gets home. I heard Her tell Him that She had such a nice lunch that She wouldn't want any dinner, but I think She was just joking, because She always fixes dinner for when He comes home from His school.
She is happy for LW's trip to Disney, but very anxious to see pictures of all the kids having fun!
I am going to sit by the window, now, and watch the man cut the grass. Toodle-Pip.

Good Day for Cats

This has been a very pleasant day, for me. There is plenty of sun to lie in, and even though She went out to see Mable's mom, He stayed home and we all rested. I did not seem to need as many snuggles as yesterday, and I knew right where to find Her when She came home. She was at Her computer and played a game on it. She said She had to get away from it before something happened to her head! Does anyone know what hypnotized means? Anyway, She stopped awhile ago and said She needed to have FreeCell withdrawal, and She drank some coffee (the drink).
She checked on Eddie, who is Her grandson. I do not think he is a cat, because Kasey and I don't have any kittens, and She is our Mom. I think he is a person, like Grace, or LW and her sibs. She loves Eddie, too. She says he doesn't have any pets, but he sure knows about cats! It would probably not surprise Eddie that Katy was here this morning, and He gave her some treats. She didn't bring her kittens this time.
She is very excited to go and see Smudge's Mom's artwork tomorrow. I am not scared, because she will come home afterward. For now, I will go chase Kasey. Bye.

Something New

I thought I knew every inch of this place, but today I found a windowsill I didn't know about! In Their bedroom, They do not have curtains, They have a shade, which is nice and soft, like the ones where they watch TV. I never really thought abut it until Cleo came over. She went to that shade and poked her nose around it so she could look out. WELL! After Cleo went home, I went and poked my paw around it, and a space opened where I could see outside! After a little more poking, a could put my paw on the windowsill there, and finally, I got my whole self on the windowsill and watched out the front! I saw Katy's mom and a couple of kids I don't know. It was a real adventure, I can tell you! I had fun until She saw me, and asked me nicely to come out of there. When I did, she moved the shade so I couldn't get my paw back around it. I will not give up, though. She says every day you learn something is a good day. Well, I had a good day today!
It did wear me out, though. I think I'll have a nap. toodles.

The Letter

Well, She is pretty grumpy today, because They got a letter from the Homeowners' Assoc. about how they need to mow the grass. It makes Her mad, because They take good care of Their yard. Katy likes it here. So does Cleo, and I bet we would, too, if we went out - which we don't want to do. He is so busy at school, and She isn't an outdoors kind of mom. I feel sorry when She is grumpy, because it is harder to make Her feel better. When She is sad, a couple of snuggles is all it takes to fix things, but when She is mad at the Homeowners, well - it is really better to stay away from Her.
One thing that cheers Her up is talking about LW and her trip to Disney. LW and all her sibs have a whole bunch of new clothes with their names on them. Some nice ladies made them and sent them for the trip. There are lots of very nice people, aren't there? When She thinks abut that, She will feel better, I bet.
It is still dark and rainy today, so I will find a cozy place to snooze, especially where I can't hear the thunder so much. Sweet Dreams.

Rainy Day Cat

Right now it is dark outside, as if it is night, but it is not night. We haven't even had our supper yet! It is thundering, and She might need some snuggles. Katy's mom came over in the rain, because she is young and can run fast. She can't run at all, but She says that is OK, because She is not in any hurry anymore. I don't know what that means.
Yesterday, She was as happy as Kasey in catnip! She got to play with LW all afternoon, and then LW's sibs, when they came home from school. She loves to do that, and even if She can't run, She can play! She told Him that it keeps Her young!
Today She had lunch with Deena's Mom, and they didn't care it was raining! She loves Deena's Mom! I heard her tell Him in a quiet voice that Deena got loose and had an awful time in a stormy night. She did not want me to hear that, because She knew I would NOT like it! But it turns out that Deena is now safe at home, so I can relax. Don't tell Her I heard Her tell Him. They don't like me to feel upset.
Oooh! More thunder. I had better go and comfort Her! Bye now.

Nervous Cat

Today I might need to go and hide in the closet. I am nervous because She and Smudge's Mom are talking about a road trip. I know that means She wants to go away for awhile, and I don't want Her to go! While He is in school, there is no one here to take care of me if She goes away. I don't mean to be selfish, but His snuggles are not like Hers, and Kasey stays with Him whenever He is home. The one who takes care of ME is Her! And Smudge needs someone, too. Smudge's dad goes away all day, too, and Smudge's Aunt Trixie might just biff him! Trixie is a cat like Kasey, not like me. Maybe if I lie on a blanket in the closet, I will feel better. Or maybe She will think a road trip isn't a good idea. Or maybe Smudge's Mom will be too busy. Or something!
Well, in the meantime, She has Mable's Mom to check on, and Deena's Mom to have lunch with. And me to give snuggles and skritches to. I'll worry about the road trip later.
Off for the closet now. Toodle pip.

Cat-Trick

You will never believe what I did! If She hadn't seen it with Her own eyes, She wouldn't have thought it could happen! Here's what I did: I got on the bed and curled up on Kasey's beloved blue blanket - just to see what it was like! I curled up and got all cozy, like Kasey does, but when She saw me, She called Him, and I knew I had better get down. But for a minute there..........I admit the blanket IS soft and nice, but if Kasey would have seen me, I would be cat stew right now! Kasey would hiss and yow and bite and biff, because that is what she does when she is angry.
Today, She was especially happy, because His class was canceled and he came home early. Then, She got an email from Deena's mom, and they made a plan to have lunch together later. That put a big smile on her face! She is off in the kitchen now, to fix a ham she got for dinner. He said He wanted some ham, so She got enough for dinner and sandwiches. He almost never asks for something special, so when he does, She fixes it. When everyone is happy, there are plenty of snuggles for me. Promise you won't tell Kasey about you-know-what? A-doo for now.

Dog-Gone

I don't mind telling you, Cleo has gone home with her people, and I am relieved. Yes, Cleo is a good friend, but she is, after all, a d-o-g, and the two kinds of us have our issues. Kasey does not have issues, but then, she is a different kind of cat than me. She is a rude cat, and Cleo knows to not try to be friends with her.
This morning, it rained very hard, and thundered, so I had to give Her some snuggles. I don't want Her to be nervous, you know. I huddled very close under Her chin, so She would not be afraid. Cleo barked at the thunder, and it was a big noise, but kind of funny, too. She and I kind of chuckled at that. She says she misses Cleo when she's not here. I say Humph to that!
LW and her sibs talked to Her on the phone and said they liked seeing the Easter Bunny, but didn't say how much candy they got. LW's big brother said they ate breakfast lunch AND dinner there. She is so happy that they had fun.
I am going to walk all around the house to show how glad I am that Cleo has gone home. Oddyose.

A Dog Blog

Here's the way it is going with Cleo. She is really good company, if you can get used to how big she is. She likes us and tries to go where we are. She only ate our cat food once and when She said, Cleo, don't eat the kitties' food, she stopped right away. Do you suppose she thought it was refreshments for company? He and She do that when They have company. Kasey walks right past Cleo's nose and Cleo just sits there. Maybe she can understand cat-language, and knows that Kasey likes to be left alone. I don't like to go past Cleo's nose, because it is very close to her big teeth! I think I remember a dog chasing me before I came here to live. I am just more careful than Kasey.
He and She are very excited for LW and her sibs. They are going to see the EasterBunny in person! I hope the bunny gives them lots of candy. That makes LW happy, and that is what makes Them happy. One of LW's sisters has the tickets, but she promised Her that she would take everyone. I don not like bunnies, personally, and I don't like candy. But I do like happy! I think I will go have a nap in the closet - just to be on the safe side. Toodles.

A Dog's Tale

OK, Here's what is going to happen tonight. Cleo's people are going to bring her over and they will leave her here! Cleo comes to stay with us when her people go out of town, and this weekend they are going to see Cleo's girls, very far away. They are going to stay overnight, maybe even two, and while they are gone, Cleo will stay with us. She is a nice dog, but a dog none-the-less. She eats our food, and she sniffles, sniffles, sniffles us. Kasey climbs to the top shelf of the closet while Cleo is here, but Cleo doesn't care. And He will put our food and litterboxes in Their room, and shut the door. It all works out. We are not scared of Cleo anymore, and she is not scared of us. She doesn't want to eat us. She knows this is our house, too. I guess you could say Cleo is a good friend, too, for a dog. I have more friends than I thought! I will still be glad when Cleo goes home - but don't tell Her. He and She would be disappointed to know that.
Right now, She wants to look at pictures of Her grandson, Eddie, that her friends took yesterday, so I will sign off and go watch for Cleo to come. More later.

A Lesson Today

Today I learned how dangerous it can be to have friends. For example, my dear friend, Smudge, went out of his house without permission, and he got lost. It hurt my heart to hear about that, and I almost learned how to cry! So having friends can really hurt your heart if something happens to them But then, Smudge's Mom called Her and said Smudge has come home, and then my heart stopped hurting. I already know how to laugh, so I laughed when I heard that Smudge was safe. In fact, my heart felt so good that I decided that it is way worth it to have Smudge for a friend, even if we had a hurting emergency.
Today, She said, there were so many of Her beloved Crones that they needed to have two tables put together! She says that having your heart hurt every so often is worth it, when you can be with your friends. One best friend She has is Him, and She brought Him home a nice big salad as a treat. She told me that it IS a danger to have friends, but it is very, very worth it.
I will try to explain this to Kasey, but I don't think she'll get it. me-out. (Get it?)

Close Call!

Whew - It was a narrow escape today. He got out the box for cats to get in, and I was scared to death! I ran and hid in the closet, but it turns out He was only measuring it for a project. I was so relieved that Kasey and I didn't need to get in the box and go somewhere, like to the vet! I came out after He went to His school, and I god lots of snuggles and brushes. She understood how scared I was. She calls me scaredy-cat, but She loves me.
Another close call today was something She read on Her computer. Her music guy was in an accident in his car, and he came home alright. Another whew! She was pretty upset over that, until he let everyone know he was OK. The music guy has dogs at his house, but I think he would like Kasey and me.
Both of Them watched some TV tonight, because there are programs They both like. I feel cozy when all four of us are watching TV. When I got under Her chin tonight She said Look at my beard. He laughed at that.
It is time for me to have a snack. Later, gator.

Kasey Doesn't Care

When I tried to get Kasey to look at her picture that She finally got printed at the bottom of the page, Kasey said she didn't care about it Her blanket is her own business, she said, and so are all her other things. If she knew I napped on her little catnip pad, she would have a hissy-fit! Do NOT tell her. She came out from her blanket today to play with some of our little mousies, and when I tried to play with her, she walked off. I tell you, that cat is rude.
It was a hard day for Him, because He had to take His mom to the doctor. He wants to move her to a smaller room where she lives, so perhaps she won't lose all her stuff, but she just fights with Him. Poor Him. All He wants to do is help his mom, but she doesn't have a healthy mind anymore. He came home and went to bed until it was time for Him to go to school. That's how tired His mom makes Him. I said They should give Kasey to His mom, but He pretended He didn't hear me.
But She had a good day. She got Her toes painted pink for Easter. And She talked to Mazie today. She loves that little girl as much as She love me, I bet. Mazie is Krausen's girl and they live far away. I will find Her now and give Her some snuggles. Toodles.

Hard Work!

Today She decided She would add the picture of Kasey and her blue cozy blanket, but She had to consult with Mable's Mom, and with Him, and try a bunch of different tricks to get it to work. She wanted it next to my story, but after about a hundred tries, She ended up with it at the bottom of this page. You can scroll down to see Kasey, snoozing on her blanket, at least I hope you can. One day She will get the hang of this, because She won't give up! That is one thing about Her that makes this a hard day. I wanted pets and snuggles, and a couple of good brushings, but She kept at this work. If Mable's Mom hadn't helped Her, She might be screaming now! Or maybe in tears. I really don't like that, because it makes me feel anxious. Well, go on to the bottom of the page and see if you find Kasey on her beloved blanket. Whew. I need a rest! TTYL

The Cat Sat

It was quiet around here today, because She went to have coffee (the drink) with Mable's Mom. She told me She wanted to ask M'sM about how to show you the picture She took of Kasey on her blue-blanket-that-she-loves, but when She got home, She said She forgot, because it was so much fun talking to M'sM! Just wait, and She will learn how to show you the picture. She didn't take a picture of me sleeping on Kasey's other mat, because She knows that Kasey would chase me if she found out (snerk). Then He went off to His school to study and work on a project. He didn't come home until five o'clock, but that's OK, because we had work to do, snuggles, pets and brushing. I love that brushing! And I don't believe She will make a new cat out of the extra fur that comes off me. She is just joking. I hope.
Now They are watching a movie. It must be very funny, because I can hear Them laughing. Well, I'll go check it out and let you know. Bye now.

Happy News

Well, we found Katy. I am so relieved! Katy is so young, and a mommy, and needs to be home where it is safe! Her Mom and her boy brought her and the kittens over to see us. The kittens are so tiny! I don't think I was ever that small. But their eyes are open, and they sure know how to cry! While Katy was gone, her mom took the kittens to another neighbor, and their cat fed the kittens. What a smart thing to do! That cat had just had five kittens, so didn't notice two more, I guess. But the little guys got milk from their OWN mommy when she came back. Oh, this has made me so happy that I ran around the house about ten times! He and She said I was acting like a Clownie. That's what They say when I am being funny.
I am tired and happy, now, and really need a nap. ToodlePip

Are You There?

I like writing these stories, but I don't know if anyone is reading them. I will write them anyway, because it is good exercise for my paws. My stories tell people what is going on here, and without them no one would know about how different we are - Kasey and me. I would not like people to believe I was rude, too. When She gives Kasey a treat, Kasey just walks away. Sometimes it is nice to hear a thank-you purr. I purr very loudly, so that He and She know how much I like it here. Sometimes, though, I get very scared. Yesterday, She brought home a big box with a lid on it, and it made noise when She carried it. She put it on His chair and I forgot. When I jumped on the back of His chair, the box fell down and made a HUGE noise! I thought I would be in real trouble, but She put the box away, and told me She was sorry She scared me. She said my heart was beating very fast. Believe me, I needed snuggles after that!
Today, there is shrimp defrosting on the counter that we don't go on. It is very tempting, though. Shrimp smell really good. But I know better. So does Kasey, actually. I must go now, to look out the window, in case Katy comes back. Bye,now.

Where is Katy?

Last night, Katy's Mom called and said she could not find Katy! It seems she has run away. Katy's Mom thinks Katy has a boycatfriend, and they ran off together! I am very upset, because Katy's kittens cannot eat kibbles or snacks, they need their mommy. Katy must want more kittens, is all I can think of. I would cry if I knew how. Kasey doesn't care, she says, and that is just what Kasey would think. Maybe Kasey is so rude because her mommy ran away when Kasey was little. It would explain a lot!
Today, She made cookies for a bake sale, and put every two of them in a little bag, except for the one He wanted. She couldn't say no to Him, so She gave Him one, and then She brought the rest of the cookies and a can of soup to the bake sale. Do you know why? The people said that every one who brings a can of food gets a free cookie. She was paying for His cookie! Isn't that funny? I don't like cookies. I eat kibbles - andI will eat some now. So Long, friends.
