Kittens Again

Katy from next door came over today, and He gave her and her husband some treats. When She went out to look, She said Katy's tummy is full of kittens again. From the size of Katy's tummy, She said, those kittens will be here any day! I hope these new kittens stay well and healthy, and get adopted, like Kasey and I did. We want them to live a long time. She is sad, though, that Katy's Mom doesn't get Katy fixed so that she doesn't have more kittens. Kasey is glad that she doesn't have any kittens to worry about, because she had that fixing. I would feel sorry for any kittens that had Kasey for a mom. Kasey is NOT a good role model! Very rude.
Today, She was joking with Smudge's Mom about the cats having a party while Smudge's Mom and Dad were away at their meeting. We would have SO gone to a party like that! We are good dancers and Smudge's Mom has good things to eat. But if Mable had been there, we would have probably been the refreshments! It is a good thing that party was only a joke.
Kasey is looking out the front window, where she can see if Katy commes back, and I am going to look out the back to see if it is going to rain. BBL.

Night in the Morning?

When She said She was going to see Night in the Museum, at first I didn't know it was a movie, and was puzzled how She could see night at 11 AM. Then I remembered that She told me She was going to a movie with Mable'sMom and another friend. They went to a kind of movie where they will bring you your lunch. She told Him She had a hot dog and sweet potato fries. She said it was yummy in the tummy! She says stuff like that. I don't know why. She enjoyed meeting M'sM's friend, too.
She had to wait a long time on the phone to talk to people that sent Them the IRS letter. She doesn't think They owe the money, and She is setting out to prove it. When you are talking about money, She can get pretty serious. She says it is a good lesson to keep lots of papers. That didn't stop Her de-cluttering, but it did slow it down!
There is a spot of sun coming in that looks very inviting. I really need to rest. I was up very early today, chasing Kasey. So long, everyone.

Just the Thing!

After we had our bagel and our butter this morning, She was singing. Do you know what made her sing? Well, first of all, He was just fine. I try to tell Her He is all better, but She wants to be wary. Not worried, though, because She doesn't want germs! Once She saw that He was fine, She was singing because She was having lunch with Deena's Mom! That is one of our favorites, because that always makes Her smile - or even sing! They had a chance to talk about a new baby girl for Deena's girl, who lives far away. Farther even than Cleo's girls! So they talked and ate delicious food. When She told me She ate shrimp, I wondered if She brought some home for Kasey and me, but She said no, it was all safe in Her tummy. I guess She thought that was funny. Hmph.
Tonight They have a movie to watch, and tomorrow She is going to see another movie. I will sit on Her lap tonight, but tomorrow She will be at a movie place. No cats allowed.
I am pretty thirsty now,l so I will get a drink out of the silver bowl. Toodle Pip.

Worry Germs

A lot of times She has said not to worry, because worry can make you sick. That is probably true, because today He has worries about His mom. Then, She worries about Him. Well, Kasey and I have decided not to worry, because we don't want to feel sick. She says worry germs are what made him have his thinking sickness, and worry germs made Her have a nightmare. No more worry for Her. If She feels a worry coming on, She will visit with Her friends, and play with Her cats, and fix Him some nice dinner. Next thing you know, She will be chipper again. She has nice music to listen to. Her music guy plays songs that make Her feel like smiling, except the one about looking into your eye. Eddie DVDs make her laugh, and She always has something to look forward to. That's the cure for worry germs, She says. And a cat who is a snuggle-bug can make her calm and restful, (even if this cat doesn't care to be called a snuggle-bug!)
I will go and see how she feels right now, and maybe get on her tummy and purr. TTYL.

Cats on Duty

Kasey and I both had jobs to do today, because there was a lot of work to do to keep Her cheered up...She was so worried about Him that She had a nightmare, and woke up kind of grumpy. She doesn't like to be grumpy, so Kasey and I both acted charming, and She felt better. Kasey even came very close to sniffle the butter on Her bagel. (But didn't lick any off Her finger.) Things looked better until the mail came. There was a letter from someone called IRS, and it siad They still owed some money. She dooes NOT like that. She worked and worked on it, but couldn't find the answer. She will try again tomorrow. Now She wasn't grumpy - just sad.
It cheered her up to think about Smudge's people going to a meeting far away. The only thing is, they have to come back every day to give medicine to Smudge's Uncle Jack. Their meeting sounds really interesting. She wants everyone to feel good, and not need the hospital so much.
He came home and was just fine, but She can't relax, She says. She wants him to stay feeling good.
So Kasey and I just entertained Them with a little war, and made them laugh, so I guess we are doing a good job on our cheer up duty. I'll keep you posted.

Quiet Today

This is a quiet day around here. She is resting from Her de-cluttering, so there are no new piles of stuff blocking our way. I have given some extra snuggles, so She will know I appreciate that. There were a few errands, and then She has been at home. She watched some pictures of Her beloved Eddie that someone sent Her, and that is always nice. She is also going to have dinner with Smudge'sMom, and She says they will save money today if they do that. That means two special things for Her: Smudge'sMom and saving money! She loves both of those. Wait - make that three special things! Her beloved Crones meet tonight! What a wonderful day for Her.
He is still at His school, getting tutored. He says that is help with his algebra. I don't know what that is, but I am glad I don't have to get tutored for it!
I think I'll go have a snooze while it is nice and quiet. There is a sunbeam that needs checking out! Bye now.

Good for Her

Today was a good day for Her. She got to spend the morning with Her thinking friends, and they had a wonderful topic, She said. It makes Her have a lot of energy when She meets with Her friends like that! Then, She told Him, She went to the store that gives a lot of free stuff. She thought that if She got this deal, She would have a lot of free stuff for Mable's Mom when she comes home from far away. She likes getting free stuff almost as much as She likes Her thinking friends.
Mable's Mom came home and She took the free stuff over to her house. She was glad to see Mable and her Mom. She told Him that now things were almost back to normal! He is feeling fine, Mable's Mom is back, She will see Her beloved Crones tomorrow, so She says life is good for Her. It is also good for Kasey and me, because we are getting lots of pets and treats.
Wait. What's that noise? Is it kibbles going into a dish? I will go and see. Tata.

No Ketchup Today

Just like I told you I would, I am reporting on the visit with Mazie. They had Lasagne and salad, and some very smelly bread, but no - they did not have ketchup. Mazie was very nice about it, too. I was a little nervous about going out to see them, but Kasey went and looked them over, and said there was no ketchup, but that Mazie behaved very politely. If I went somewhere and didn't get kibbles, I would be sort of polite, but Kasey would be VERY rude. She would probably yow and make a mean face. It made Him and Her so very happy that Mazie and her mother came to see us. She said it put a song in Her heart!
Speaking of songs, Mazie sang some lovely songs for Him. Mazie calls Him PopPop, and that was her present to Him for PopPops Day. He got a tear in His eye, it was so beautiful.
Now, She has a chance to rest, but is She resting? No - the de-cluttering continues! You would not believe how much She has decided to throw away! Kasey and I gathered up our catnip mice - just in case.
I believe I'l race around the house for awhile. Oh Reve war.

Saturday Cat

This is a quiet day around here. He is home studying. I'm glad I don't have to study. I'm afraid I would fall asleep. She is still on her de-cluttering mission, but Kasey and I are lying low, so as not to be put into a plastic bag and given to the poor people! This is the worst-looking place, where this computer is, but She is off in the living room, throwing and tossing.
Today is LW's Mom and Dad's birthday, and She is so tickled for them. Do you remember how LW's Mom and sibs wake each kid up on his/her birthday with a cake and a song? Well, today the KIDS woke up the Mom and Dad with cake and a song! Wasn't that cute? I woke Her up this morning with a purr and a snuggle, but it's not Her birthday. I was just lonesome.
He and She are excited about tomorrow. Mazie and her mom are coming for lunch. Mazie usually has fish sticks, but not tomorrow. They are having something else - but She might just fix some french-fries for dipping in ketchup Mazie loves that. Next time, I'll tell you about whether there was ketchup or not.
Nap time. g'bye.

Clutter Cat

I am getting tired of all Her de-cluttering. Today she put so much stuff on the bed that Kasey could hardly rest. Kasey's blue blanket goes on Her bed during the day, and so does a lot of clutter. She has filled a bunch of bags with stuff that needs to go, She says. She took a lot of books to sell at the half-price book store. When She came home, She was laughing about almost buying a bunch of books there, but She stood firm, She said. We will conquer this clutter, She said. When She was drinking her coffee, I tried to get Her to stay in Her nice chair. I got under Her chin and purred very loudly. It worked for awhile, but no, She had to go back to Her mission, She said.
She did stop at dinnertime, and fixed some nice fish. I only took a little bit, but it was really good.
All this de-cluttering has worn me out. Sleepy-bye for me. See ya tomorrow.

Excited , Not Excited

A paper came in the mail, and She got all excited! There is a kind of food They like, but it is very expensive. Well, that paper said there was a sale, and these things didn't cost so much! While He was at his school, She went to that store, and got some really good things to eat! One thing They like is salmon, which I really like, too. She got some of that, and some other stuff, and it was in Her budget! That make her so excited that She danced with me when She came home! She is so glad She didn't just throw away that paper.
We are not so excited here about this, though. 2 of LW's sibs are sick with bad ears, tongues and throats. The really bad thing is that Saturday is LW's Mom and Dad's birthday. That's right. Both on the same day, and they deserve a better present than sick kids! She says She sent them something that might cheer them up. She loves LW's family! All of us do.
We are going to have good things to eat here, and I will celebrate that by giving Her an extra snuggle right now! Toodle Pip.

Lawn Terrorists!

This started out as a peaceful and pleasant day. She was de-cluttering, and I was helping. Mostly by staying out of the way. I am excellent at that. She is a lot of fun when She de-clutters. It makes Her feel as if She is accomplishing something, but not working too hard! Sometimes She looks at every single thing She wants to de-clutter, and it takes Her a long time. I don't quite see how de-cluttering helps, because everything looks worse now than it did before She started. Still, She feels as if She has accoomplished something, and She likes to feel like that.
While She was taking a break from de-cluttering, and having a PBandJ with Her coffee, we started hearing a loud noise. I could hear something roaring, and I heard the gate open. Suddenly, there were people in our back yard! I was very alert, and when the noise got especially loud, I identified it as terrorists who were disturbing our grass. Their machines came very close to the window where I was sitting, and I ran to the closet as fast as I could! She did not appear concerned, but I knew I needed to save myself. I stayed there until He came home from His school and told her He got an A on His algebra test. It was safe to come out and write my story. The grass looks very neat, and the terrorists are gone. Whew. That was close!

Sad or Happy?

One thing She did today was go and talk to a guy about wills. She said it made her happy to talk to him. You know what's funny? His name is Will! (snerk). One of her favorite guys made wills for them a long time ago, but he moved far away. When He had his thinking problem, She thought They had better get everything up-to-date. The idea of wills is what happens when you are sick or when you die. When I learned that, I got very sad. I don't want Him or Her to die, because who will care for Kasey and me? She said that's why they have wills - so that we don't have to worry about things like that. Maybe Kasey and I should make wills, about who gets our catnip mice and our leftover kibbles. She said not to think about that. She will make all the right lists.
One new person we heard about was Dudley. Dudley is a dog, and She says he is beautiful. Redheaded, like his Mom, She said. It would be fun to meet Dudley someday, but then, he IS a dog, and -- well, you know.
All this thinking about wills has made me hungry. I will go get a bite to eat now, and maybe have some snuggles. Addy-ose.

Get the Bugs!

There are not usually any bugs in our house, because She doesn't want bugs, and I am an excellent stalker. Imagine our surprise today when a bug come in from the outside when He went out to feed the birds! It was not an attractive bug. It was the kind that scurries. But never fear, I was on the job, and in a very short time I had totally stalked that bug, and gave it to Her to prove how She can count on me! She really appreciated that. In fact She made a ceremony, and we buried what was left of the bug at sea. That's what She called it. It looked to me like She flushed it down the loo. I have been especially watchful, and no more bugs are around. We are safe!
He has a test tomorrow at his school, and He is working very hard to know all the answers on that test. She knows He will do a fine job, but He worries. Don't worry, She says. Worries are just like germs. But He is still thinking OK.
Kasey has a new box to play in, and she has been rolling and scratching and yowing in that box. When Kasey has a new box to explore, you would never believe it is the same grumpy cat that won't let us touch her! I hear kibbles going into a dish. Gotta run.

Power and Presents

Today, She went to listen to a nice man talk about Power. It was supposed to be about Fathers Day, but this guy got into the web of all life, and that we get power from being nice and helping each other. She really likes that, since She has been telling Him that half the world's problems come from people wanting power. It will give Her things to think about, and She loves that!
She brought LW's sister Lily her birthday present. It is kind of sad for Her that She can't give them such nice presents. Times are kind of hard, She says, until we win the Lotto. That is a game where they give away money. He says HA to that. Keep saving, He says. She brings candy for the children, and She will never stop that!
She also saw Cleo's girls today, which cheered Her up. And She talked to lots of friends. She was so glad to see them, and get hugs. She told Him that there were smart people talking, and so Her thinking got a work out.
I have found a cozy spot on a dining room chair. It is nice and soft, and right by the window where the sun c0mes in. I am headed over there to get a few winks before it's time for kibbles. Later, gator.

Poor Him!

After all His troubles, and after all Her convincing, the mom did not sign the paper! He took her all the way to the bank, and she refused to sign. It makes Her just ready to growl! I know how to growl, and it is just for emergencies, but She says this is just about an emergency! It seems, She says, that is part of what made him so sick last week! Worry is just like germs, She says.
One thing that made Her happy is to talk to Mable's Mom, who is still very far away. It makes the world smaller, the way the phones work these days! At least that is Her opinion. Since our world is inside this house, it always seems the same size to Kasey and me.

You know that blue blanket? (see picture below.) She was keeping track of the time, and figured out that Kasey spends 90% of her time on that blanket! That is quite a lot, I believe. I did get on it one day - don't tell Kasey - and it IS nice and soft, but I prefer to climb under Her chin. I might just do that right now. Addy-ose.

Oh, That Katy!

Katy's Mom just came over to tell Her Katy is expecting more kittens! Kasey has told Katy not to marry that scroungy cat that she brought over here! But Katy didn't listen. Katy's Mom wants to take Katy to be "fixed". That means no more kittens, but she has to drive a long way. When She heard about the kittens, She said someone had better get Katy fixed right away, and She was not kidding!
Today She was very busy trying to get His mom to listen to Him, and sign some kind of paper. Also, She told them to move His mom to a smaller room. It is just a waste of space for her to be in a big, big room, which costs a lot of money, when she could be in a regular space. His mom was very agreeable to Her, but she didn't know who She was. One thing His mom said is that she didn't like His wife! That was soooo funny, because She IS His wife! His mom said His wife is a spy! It's a good thing I didn't go with Her, because I would have laughed so hard that water would come out my nose! She told me that She is very glad He got His thinking back, because He was acting kind of like that when he was loopy.
Once His mom is settled, it will be a nice weekend! Toodle Pip.

Good News!

Today the news came about His CATscan. Just as I suspected, there was no cat in there. His head just had what it was supposed to, and that means his thinking problem was about his medicine. That's what Cleo's Mom said about another person she knows. It was the lady at the esspeeceeay where Kasey and I came from. Cleo's Mom said this lady acted just like Him, and it was her medicine, so this is all working out fine for both of them. Now, She needs to convince Him not to take any new medicine. And I would tell Him to stay away from the catnip, too. Poor Kasey is still having catnip issues. I can't make her give me that catnip mouse!
Now She is waiting for Mable's Mom to get home. She had fun with her beloved Crones yesterday, and She says everyone has exciting plans. He and She don't have any big plans, because of His mom. It is really hard to deal with his mom, and He wants Her to help him with the mom lady. I'll let you know how that turns out.
Oh, I guess one more frolic with my little purple catnip mouse won't hurt. (Kasey's is yellow.) TTYL.

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

Uhhhh, What?

I am a little dizzy right now, and not sure what to say, because She brought us catnip mice today, I am still a little hazy. The last thing I remember is Her giving a catnip mouse to Kasey, and Kasey going completely Mad-Cat with it. She batted and rolled on it and pushed it down on the floor - Kasey was making a complete fool of herself, and I was looking at her and shaking my head. That's when I found out there were TWO catnip mice, and I had one for myself! That's when everything became a blur. She said I was rolling around on the floor and fighting with the chair legs. She laughed at us, I seem to remember, and I thought, "I should be embarrassed.", but then I sort of lost track of what I was thinking, and all I knew for sure was catnip!
Now, if everyone will just be quiet, I will go lie down in a spot of sun and try to recover. There should be a warning on catnip mice: Use responsibly!
Nighty (yawn) night.

CAT Scan?

Today, He went for a CAT scan, so they could see inside His head and make sure He is all better. That seems like a funny name for a picture of what's inside His head. I promise you, He doesn't have a cat in there! We are too big - even Kasey, who is only half as big as me. She says we will watch House tonight, and She will tell me when the CAT scan part comes on. I am learning a lot since He had his thinking problem!
They had to drive a long way to get this CAT scan, and it was rush hour when They got done, so They went to IHOP, a place where old people can get a free dinner. They both had delicious food, She said, and She brought home half of her dinner for Him to eat later. I looked it over, and I MAY ask him for a taste. It depends on how full of kibbles I am at the time.
She also got Her glasses fixed from when she fell down and landed on them. I shouldn't laugh, but She looks really funny with that shiner!
I hear Kasey meowing for treats. I think I'll go and chase her. Bye-bye.

We Weren't Invited

Do you remember a long time ago when there was a party for Her 75th birthday? Do you recall Kasey and I were not invited? Well, today LW's Mom came by and gave her a DVD about that very party, and we all got to see it. It was a wonderful DVD, especially since we could see what They were so happy about. I still think a couple of lovely cats would have made it even nicer, but the DVD has us all tickled pink (although that is just a saying. I am still brown.).
Later, He and She got dressed up and went to Smudge's Girl's graduation party, to which Kasey and I were not invited. Hmmph. She gave us some story about how we would be scared of all the people and Smudge's Uncle Jack and Aunt Trixie. So She says. Well, She did tell us all about it. Some good friends were there, and some nice other people. She raved about the treats they made out of wontons, and He ate a lot of His beloved vegetables. Nice people, good food - and a wonderful reason to have a party! Smudge's girl likes the present they gave her, which made Them really glad. And She told Him how happy She was to see Hunter and Harley, who are teen-age friends.
I will forgive Them for not inviting us, since They gave us some really good kibbles. Chow.

New Word?

Today I learned a new word. Do you know what a "shiner"is? She told me the reason She looked so peculiar is because She has a "shiner". I was puzzled, but She helped me understand. A shiner is the name for the blue all around Her eye. It is from where She fell down yesterday and bumped Her face at the bank. She says there is a joke that when you have a shiner, you put a steak on your eye. Fat chance, She says. Any steak They have will go into Her tummy!
Although we are still being watchful, He seems to be better every day. That makes things much nicer, because She is not so worried that he has what Their mothers had. She says They just might have dodged the "dementia bullet" this time. That means that He is getting His thinking back. The bad part about that is that He is always worried about His mom. But mostly, it is good, because we missed Him when His thinking was missing.
All this learning has worn me out. I will go take a little nap, now. Toodles.

Cats Helping

We started today all cheerful and happy, because He was feeling better, and She said that maybe the medicine IS the problem. She was even OK with Him going to His mom's by himself, since He was making go9od sense when He talked. So our troubles are over for today - right? WRONG!! She went to the bank to get something for Smudge's girl's graduation, and even took Her cane - but She fell SMACK on her face! No, nothing got hurt or broken, but She felt like a doofus, She said. There were a bunch of big guys who ran to help Her. What nice gentlemen! They must have had very good moms! They picked her up in a zip, and the lady from the bank brought Her water, straightened Her glasses, and offered to drive Her home! The lady brought ice to put on her bumped face. I can tell you, She looks like She was in a cat-fight, and I should know what that looks like! She is laughing about it, but I will help her feel really cheered up. I am a good helper!
Going helping now. Ah Doo.

Resting Cats

Kasey and I are very good at resting, so we showed Him how to rest like us. He went to his school and took a test, but needed some help getting home, and wondered what to do. Kasey told Him to rest, and so He did. Then He ate His lunch and didn't know what to do, so I told Him to rest, and He did. I know He will be up for His supper, because She is making shrimp salad, and we all love that!
She is thinking She may have to drive Him to His school next week. He doesn't have to go tomorrow. He has trouble keeping track of everything, and it is easier for Her to do it.
We are also celebrating that Mable'sMom, Katy's kids and Smudge's girl are done with this school year, and they are pretty happy about it.
I like it when things are happy. I believe I will rest myself now. Later Gator.

Hopeful Cats

Today Kasey and I are abeing hopeful. She says that being hopeful is the first step in fixing problems. Our problem is that He is still not all better. She fixed his pills and took out the ones the Doc didn't want Him to have anymore, and we are hopeful that it may fix His mixed-up-ness. Then She is taking him to a place where they will see what is going on in his head, and we're hopeful that they'll see how to fix Him. She is getting lots of love beamed at Her, She told us, and that keeps Her hopeful! She knows we love her, and She has the snuggles and the massages to prove it.
She told us She is meeting with Mable'sMom before M'sM goes away on a trip. She is sad to see M'sM go away, but she is hopeful that She may get some of that special jam M'sM brings back, so there is a bright side!
Smudge's girl graduates from her school tomorrow, and She is hopeful that They can go to her party on Sunday. We can't cross our fingers - but we are hopeful.
Must go make a mean face at that strange cat in the back yard. Ah-doo.

Cats on a Mission

Our mission today is to see what is making Him act a little strangely. He is mostly better from that problem from last Friday, but He still has a couple of things that keep Her worried. Oh, She needs lots of snuggles right now! She says She doesn't know what to do if He stays like this! It will be a big change, but She says everything is going to be the same for Kasey and me. All I have to do is be a good cat, She says, and the pets and the kibbles and the butter will be there for us. It is still making me anxious, though.
She is calling the doctors and the guys who give him pills to see if it is his pills are what gets Him all mixed up. The good thing is, He thinks He is fine! No sense of both of Them being worried, She says.
I believe I'll rest up for some important work later on. Bye now.
