Surprise!

This morning we had a lovely surprise, just as She promised! Who do you think came to play with us? LW HERSELF! I knew about her, but I hadn't met her before - Just in pictures, so when she came in, I was a little scared. After all, she is a big girl, and very lively. The strange thing is, Kasey went out to play with her a couple of times! I was surprised, and She was surprised. I think Kasey was so glad it was not another cat! I went out for some pets, but after awhile I went back in my closet and took a nap. LW is very sweet, and is a good petter. I purred my best purrs for her, and will be more friendly when she comes back again. I wish I were a braver cat.
When LW came, She was so happy, because it was a long tome since She has had a little girl, and She felt cheered up. Marenna had to take dust off some of the toys, and the little yellow chair that Mazie used to use, but she was a trooper about it. It makes Her kind of sad that there is so much dust, but not sad enough to take the dust off everything. One of these days, She says. One of these days. We are lucky that dust doesn't make us sneeze!
I need a snack now, so I will go see what is in my dish. Later, 'gator.

Lovey Cats

Last night I stopped hiding and got some pets and snuggles. Now I feel fine, although I still miss ole Smudge! Kasey and I are enough cats, I guess, or They may run out of treats and butter.
When She came back from Her meeting today, She was very proud of LW's Mom. There was a nice talk about love today, and She and He feel very sure about love. I hear Her say this all the time: Faith, hope and love, and the most important is love. She says that it doesn't matter if you get mad, for example, if They give Smudge back to his Mom. We still love each other. That means we take care of each other and don't care if we gack up a hairball. When children come over, She says whatever they mess up can be put back in order. When someone helps us, we smile at them and say thanks or at least, purr. LW'sMom says that love is a circle, and what goes around comes around, whether we know it or not. And the best feeling is to know you are loved. After I get over having hurt feelings, I know I am loved, and love is good! LW'sMom knows all about love.
She says She has a surprise for us tomorrow. I'm going to keep busy by chasing Kasey and getting all tired out, so tomorrow comes quickly! PipPip Toodle.

Hidey Cat

This may be a short story today, because I am in hiding. It is safe to use the computer now, because They are busy. Here is why I am hiding. I waited for my cousin Smudge to come to visit me, and it turned out he was afraid of me, and didn't much want to ply. Today his Mom and one of his girls came and took him back, and I went and hid. They will not find me until I feel like coming out. That won't be until I feel better - or if I get hungry. It's what They get for giving Smudge back!
Another good reason to hide is because He has a computer problem, and He was really mad at that computer. He said some words very loud, and hit His desk. I know He is kind, and would never hurt Kasey or me, but loud noises are scarey to me. She doesn't mind, because She says it's a sign that His thinking is back to stay! She is also glad He went to a meeting last night, because that is another good sign.
I'm glad He is better, and that Smudge's Mom and Dad had a nice vacation, so I may come out of hiding soon. Here She comes! Gotta go! Toodles.

Bye, Mazie

The thing that had Her in a sad feeling today is that Mazie left today for her new home far away from us. When She spoke to her yesterday to say goodby, Mazie and She both were crying. Deena's Mom told Her about a book that tells about moving, and She sent Mazie that book. Mazie said she loved it, and so did Mazie's mom. She was not crying hard until Mazie said give a big hug to PopPop. That is Him, and Mazie named Him that. Now She won't see Mazie until 6 months away. I have given Her extra lots of snuggles today.
One thing that cheers Her up is Smudge. Smudge likes to give snuggles as well, and he jumps up for snuggles whenever She sits at Her desk. Smudge's Mom and Dad will be home tomorrow, I think. Then I will need to be cheered up, because I love my cousin Smudge, even if he is a little scared of me.
I must go and see what Smudge and Kasey are up to now. Back to work for me! TTYUL

Katy-Next-Door

It was very early when She got Katy and took her to the vet for her fixing. She doesn't like to get up early anymore, but it made Her so happy to give Katy the chance at a fun and happy life. When She and Katy got to the vet, She said they were very nice, and thought Katy was beautiful. Katy's Mom and Katy's girl went with Her to get Katy. Oh, she was SOOOO glad to get home! The vet gave Her and Katy's Mom a lot of directions, so Katy will be recovering right.
Here is something funny about Smudge. He is not very friendly to us, and doesn't like to come to where we are. When he woke up in the night, he didn't want to go past us to get to the litter box, so he jumped into the bathtub, and made that his litter box. Wasn't that smart of Smudge? He and She told me I had better not do that, though, because I can go to the litter box any time I want. When Smudge did go to the litter box, I tried to play with him when he was through, but he doesn't really trust me, so he ran under the TV. I still wanted to play, so I went under there, too. I didn't remember how small the space is. She was afraid I couldn't get my chubby self back out - but as you can tell, I did. All that chasing wore me out, so I had a nice nap. As a matter of fact, I may snooze some more. TaTa.

Tense Cats

There is kind of a feeling in the air that has made me anxious. It isn't Smudge, exactly, although I am getting worn our from looking after him. She says She always knows where Smudge is. She finds me, and there is Smudge! I admit, he sure likes a lot of snuggles from Her, which used to be just for me. Kasey has never liked snuggles.
It might have something to do with Her attitude. It seems She is getting a little teary about Mazie moving away. Then She needs to know arrangements about Ms. Rita's memorial service. No one has told Her anything about that yet. On top of that, a Senator that she admired has died. Some friends have cheered Her up, but I'll be glad when She doesn't need cheering up, and can cheer up other people! She IS thrilled about LW's scans, and that makes Her smile when She thinks of it.
He goes to His school tonight, and She is going to have some more strange food with Mable's Mom.That is always good. And Her beloved Eddie is almost through with his running plan. Eddie says he only has eighteen days to go.
I have to go back on duty and watch Smudge. You have made me feel a bit better now, so thanks for listening. Poodle Tip. (Get it?)

Three Cats Plus Two

Today I made some progress in being friends with Smudge. He still hisses at me, but does not act all scaredy. Kasey is curious about him, but not enough to get into a situation. They are laughing because there are three of us inside, and two more outside: Katy and her husband, Those two come over every day for a snack. Sometimes they come twice a day. I wonder how that will work after Katy gets fixed to not have kittens. That happens in two days.
They went to Their thinking friends' meeting today, and the topic was about emotions. It is interesting, She said, that so many of the friends had thought-making things to say. She had to explain to me about emotions. That is when you are very scared, or when your feelings are hurt, or when you need to hiss at someone. The best is when you are getting snuggles and pets. That is a nice emotion! Or when you just get comfy and need to purr. People are trying to control their emotions, She says, so I will try to control mine. Wish me luck!
Being sad about two things is emotion that She wants to control. About Ms. Rita, and about Mazie moving far away. She says She is trying to see what She has, not what She has lost!
He is putting water in my bowl. I'm going for a drink. Bye.

Cat Sandwich

Today, She was on Her computer a long time. When She is at Her desk, our cousin Smudge gets up on her lap and gets pets, skritches and snuggles. Then Smudge lies down on the desk. While he was there, I jumped up on the back of Her chair, like I do, and Smudge got really upset and hissed at me. She told him it was OK, and petted us both at the same time, one with each hand. Smudge settled down and got comfy, and I came almost down to him. He didn't hiss or snarl then. She told Him that She had been in a cat sandwich! I am still laughing at that.
This is when She has to put Her faith to work. She believes that Ms. Rita is at peace now, and all we have to do is get used to being without her. We are going to be brave, and just have good memories.
How can She be sad when LW cam back from her scans with N.E.D. Remember, that means No Evidence of Disease. It was just what She needed to put the sunshine back in Her day!
Another good thing was that Her beloved Eddie found a stray cat when he was running in N.Ireland, He found it a home before he went on. That's another reason we love our Eddie! There was a picture, and the little cat looks like Kasey.
Tomorrow They go to Their thinking people. They love that! I'll be back.

Ms. Rita

One thing She had been doing is making sure Juliette's Mom had someone to help her house while she was sick. Today She made arrangements for next week. When She called Juliette's Dad to tell him the schedule, he was not sure J'sM would last the day. When She got a call from another friend, She found out that J'sM had indeed died. It was then that She told me the lady's name was Ms. Rita, and that Juliette and Tovick were very sad. It is not easy at all when someone dies. You always want to have just a little longer to get pets and skritches. He and She believe that when someone dies, they become a memory in your heart, so as long as you remember them they are kind of still alive. That's how They feel about Their old cat, Charlotte. They have a big picture of her, and tell us how we would have liked her. Smudge looks a lot like Charlotte Cat, and She says it makes Charlotte alive again for a little while.
I will have to be an especially good cat tonight, so I can make Her feel a little better. She will be working on having good memories of Ms. Rita, Juliette and Tovick's Mom. Talk to you tomorrow.

Trusty-Cat

This is HUGE! Our cousin Smudge decided to begin to trust some of us!! He especially likes Her, and will come to Her for pets and snuggles. It is such a relief! I thought he was going to spend the whole time in the closet. He had his food and some water on Her desk, and was almost friendly to us today. Welcome to your vacation, Trusty-Cat!
They are staying in today, because of the huge crowds on tax-free day. He went out and edged Their lawn, but that didn't count as going someplace. There is plenty to do around here, anyway, Cats to play with, Friends on the phone, and DVDs to watch. Oh, yes - and de-cluttering to do. We are not going to work on that too long, though. The clutter will still be there tomorrow.
She says She is kind of lonesome about school starting without Her. She thought She was used to it, but it makes her a little sad. She likes to help people with their school problems, though. It makes Her feel like a teacher again.
I will go now and see if Smudge is up for a game of chase. Addy ose.

Progress?

This morning She found Smudge under Her desk again, and She shut the door to Her office so we couldn't get in, and She gave Smudge lots of snuggles and pets, until he was nice and cozy. Then he wanted to come out where we were, and the three of us had a nice time playing. I had to laugh when Smudge stood his ground with Kasey and she walked away! For some reason, though, Smudge is a little scared of me. He doesn't know I am a snuggle-bug! After he got tired, Smudge went into Her closet again, and hid under Her skirts. I followed him and had a nap on the closet rug. Things are definitely better today!
Not better outside, though! She went to the store and so did everyone else. That's what She told Him. This is the weekend before the kids go back to school for real, and it is also something called tax-free weekend. She says that means that everyone in the world is shopping now. She got what she needed and told me She was not going out of the house until Monday! I'll let you know how that goes.
Katy's Mom says that Katy is being feisty, especially with his cousin Miles, who is a small, cute, yappy-type dog. Maybe it's because she is sore where she got her shots. Well, I'm going to see if Smudge is ready to play again. TaTa.

Find the Cat

Every day when we wake up, before treats and butter, we go looking for Smudge. He comes out in the evening, and acts like a normal kitty, and sometime in the night, he goes somewhere and hides. He wasn't in the closet this morning, but She found him under Her desk. Now he is somewhere else - another mystery! But he has eaten some food, and had a couple of big drinks of water, so She is not worried. He says that when Smudge gets used to being here with us, it will be time for his people to come back!
One thing that makes Her tickled pink today is that She has all Her Christmas shopping done. I guess that is an important job, because She says that like She has really done something amazing. Kasey and I don't do Christmas things, but we tell Them what to give Cleo and Mable. It seems as if that is a very long way off. I do not try to figure Her out.
If you want to see Her really excited, talk to Her about health care. She listened to the President today, and She said She felt as if the President was glad that She and Her other friends were helping him. She really likes that President.
I have to go and help Her find Smudge now, so Toodle Pip (Or Poodle Tip - get it?)

What's New, Pussycat?

Today I am a little sad, because I have waited so long to play with Smudge, and last night, when I tried to play with him, he got very angry, and yowed in my face! He went under the buffet and growled! My heart was breaking. It woke Her up, and She picked me up and gave me pets. Today, Smudge went back into Her closet, so She put some food and water there for him. She told me Smudge would get used to things here. His life at his house is so fine that he misses his people. She understands.
Another news is that His mother is in the hospital. His mother has something wrong with her legs, so they had to take her there to fix it. He is kind of worried. She reminds me of Kasey when She talks about His mother. No, She is not exactly rude, but I must say, She doesn't worry about it.
More news: She is going to have tea with Mable's Mom and Their friend who just came back from London. Oh, my, but that is far away! He and She love London, so She wants to see the pictures Her friend brought back.
News about Mazie is that she got the book that They sent her and called to thank Her. Deena's Mom will be glad to know that Mazie liked the book!
And finally, about Katy. She is fine today, and came over for some pets and a treat, so Katy is not mad at Her anymore. Whew.
Tune in tomorrow for the latest news! (snerk)

Day of the Cats

Well, She said it was all about cats today, and I think that is a little over the top. After all, it has been all about Kasey and me for years now. But She is referring to Smudge and Katy-next-door. Smudge is not at all sure about what is going on here. He comes out of hiding, walks around and explores, then goes and hides out some more. They say to give him time, and try not to scare him. Right now, he is in Her closet. She says he must have a whisker for fashion, since he likes her clothes. I don't think that is it at all. Last night he got on the table, went to every level of his condo, and had a drink of water. He has not eaten much, but She says not to worry. Smudge will eat when he's hungry. I know I would!
She took Katy to the vet for her pre-op visit. That means they checked her out for getting fixed next week. Getting fixed means she won't keep having kittens every so often. Katy did not like to be in the carrier, and she did not care for the vet, who was very nice, She told us. When they came home, She gave Katy and her husband some kibbles to celebrate. Isn't he going to get a surprise when Katy says go away. No more kitten-making for you! I'll tell you about it next week, when Katy has an appointmennt to get fixed. For now, I'm going to give Her some snuggles and a little massage. so long for now.

Cousins

Oh, Smudge is here at last! His Mom brought a very nice condo for him to climb on, and it has a place to eat his food if he doesn't want to share ours. The thing is, when he got out of his carrier, he went and hid under Her recliner chair, and di9dn't want to come out. She had warned me not to be too pushy with him. Just let him get used to being here, She said. Sooner or later, he'll come out, and then we are supposed to act as if he's one of the family, not just company. I am trying to be patient, because I want to play with him. Kasey went to check him out as soon as he came in. She kind of likes that cat condo that he has. Smudge better get into it soon, or he might find a grumpy old cousin in it!
I had to laugh at Her. She told Smudge's Mom to bring her own tea to the birthday party, because S'sM always has wonderful tea and all She has is regular store tea. Can you believe She would make someone bring their own tea? We didn't have birthday cake, but She served these little round things with whipped cream inside. Their name is cream puffs, and that is just what they are. A cat could get used to a treat like that. I hope there are some left! I am going to check on that right now. Stay tuned for Adventures With Smudge. Later, gator.

The Ups and Downs

This is a day when things are really, really good around here, and really, really bad. Oh, maybe not so bad, but pretty sad. The sad part is about Juliet's Mom. She has a bad sickness, and now she can't even get out of her bed! We are so sad about that, and She wants to get people to go to J'sMom's house and help her. They talked on the phone today, and I heard Her laughing, so I was surprised to see tears on Her face when She was through.
To cheer Her and all of you up, I will tell you something happy. He and She liked seeing so many friends this morning. It was especially fun for Her to see The Alphas and all the other children. (The Alpha's are LW's sibs. She calls them that because their names begin with J,K,L and M!) The man who was talking was quite fun for Her, because he talked about being positive, and She believes very much in being positive. Another happy thing is that Smudge is coming tomorrow. We are so happy about that. And She is tickled pink about Smudge's Mom's birthday! Shhh. The present is a surprise!
So we have felt down today, but we also felt up. That made me dizzy, so I will go and lie down. Toodle Pip

Cat-urday

Things are a bit different on Saturdays around here, and She can't understand why. When you are retired, She says, every day should be Saturday. She has a rule not to go shopping on a Saturday. Leave it for the people who can't go during the week, She says. Today, for example, She and I watched an Eddie movie, and had a nice snuggle. She had egg salad for lunch, but I don't care for egg salad, so I just had some kibbles and got back on Her lap for the rest of the movie.
He says He wants spaghetti again, and She is fine with that. He has some left-over fake sausage, and She has some left-over meatballs, and She got some more of that spaghetti that is made out of stuff He can eat. All I can say is, don't get me any peculiar kibbles!
Remember yesterday? There was a yowing at the door? When She opened it, there was Katy, and when She opened the door to put out the treats, Guess what Katy did!.. She came right in the house! She got right in Kasey's face and yowed right at her. Kasey finally turned around and walked away. I am STILL laughing about that! Katy is tinier than Kasey, but she showed Kasey who was boss. Katy went right back out again, but Kaseyjust sat there. TOOOOO funny! Laughing too hard to write more! TTYL

Loose Ends

When She gets to a certain point in her week, She says She will tie up loose ends and get ready for the weekend. That sound funny to me, because I don't know what loose ends are. I think She plans to make sure all the things on Her list are done, but that hardly ever happens. She says that She made lesson plans for most of Her life, and She can't seem to go without a plan. Some of Their friends keep their lists on their phones. She doesn't have that kind of phone. She keeps Her lists on paper. One thing She likes to do is to start the weekend with not so much on Her list.
One thing we will do this weekend is get ready for Smudge to come for his vacation. I am so excited that Smudge is coming. I have fished out all our toys for Smudge to play with. Kasey has taken her mice to Their bedroom. Kasey is not a pleasant host! Smudge is coming on his Mom's birthday. We looked at catalogs and got Smudge'sMom a present that will be from all of us. I cannot tell you what we got her, because we want it to be a surprise. I don't like surprises, myself, but I will be OK with this one.
Ooops - I hear yowing at the door. Maybe Katy is here. I'll go check. TaTa

Cautious Cat

When She got Her toes painted, they caught my attention. She saw me looking, and soon those toes started wiggling! I crouched down to make myself as small as I could - which is very hard, because I am a NORmous cat! I stared at those wiggling toes, and was prepared to pounce on them, when they moved toward me! I jumped up and ran away with all possible speed! I could hear Her laughing, and so I thought I would surprise Her and stalk those toes from a different angle. Just as I was about to pounce....the toes moved toward me again! How does She do that? I just lay on the kitchen floor and waited for my butter. Here you go FierceFace, She said as She reached out a finger of butter. FierceFace, She called me. I was very proud of that. Kasey said I was a doofus. Kasey is quite rude.
She and Mable's Mom went to tell a guy that they would not vote for him if he didn't pass the President's health plan. And they meant it, too! She said they had to walk up some steps without a railing, and that made Her cross. She is fine, now, though, because M'sM always makes her laugh.
Must go have some water from the silver bowl, now. Toodles.

Healthy Cats

Right now, She is very interested in health care, because the President wants everyone to have a good chance for getting and staying healthy, He and She are working with others to get people to listen to what the President wants. Trouble is, there are a lot of people who will not listen. It is the people who already have health care who are making the most noise, and She is getting very determined to make them hush. She can't always get Katy to hush, so I think this will be a hard job. I asked Her if this health care plan covered cats, and She explained that if a cat's people are healthy, the cats stand a good chance of getting good care! She said that if you didn't have enough money to take your kids to the doc, you would surely not have enough to take your cats! I don't like to go to the doc, but neither does She. She says it is not about what you like, but what you need. I hope people tell the President they like his plan, if only for the good of their cats!
She told Him that Her lunch was delicious when She met Her Crones at the Cracker Barrel. (Cracker Barrel? snerk) That makes Her feel very good and healthy, She says, even if Mable's Mom thinks She needs to breathe more.
Right now, I am going to find that sunshine spot on the floor and have a nice rest. Rest is VERY important to health! Bone swar.

The List

Oh, you should see Her. She is worn out! It is because She had to do things that were on Her list today. She got most of the things done, but She walked all over the food store and all over the picture store, and all around the places where She parked Her car! It was 100 degrees out there, but She was determined....Oh, She told Him that She stopped to get Her toes painted, which She said was very relaxing - I still wouldn't want anyone to paint my toes! But then it was right back to the list, and She is about ready to go and watch Her programs.
She is worried about Her beloved Eddie, who lives far away - farther than even Mazie will be living. Eddie is raising money for hungry children, remember? He has spent 14 days running 30 miles each day, and people send money to help him. I think a lot of hungry children will be glad he is doing this running, but She is worried about his poor feet and knees. It is so very hard, She says, but very brave of him!
I am going to try to coax Her to sit down and get some snuggles, before She falls asleep! She needs to be all rested for tomorrow! Cheer for Her - and cheer for Her Eddie! oh ree vwar.

Good Try

Today, when She got up, She had a list of things She intended to do. Butter for Coffee? Check Treats for Kasey? Check? Look at Her computer? Check. It started to go wrong from there, I think. She started doing computer stuff, and next thing you know, it was time for lunch. She talked to a friend of hers who is a guitar guy, then She talked to Katy's Mom, and did something for Katy's girl. Those things made Her happy, but they weren't on Her list. Well, She said, there's always tomorrow. So She did a couple of thinking things, and made a new list for tomorrow. I'll let you know how that goes.
This morning Kasey and I played chase, and we ran all over the house! We both went in to Their bedroom and had a nice nap, so I am all rested up, now, and will go and give Her snuggles while She tries to look at catalogues. That is a funny name for books that aren't about cats at all! She is excited because She is going to see Her beloved Crones this week. That is already on her list!
So long for now.

Cats and Blogs

Yes, this is what my main title is, but today it is special, because it is about a movie She saw with Her friends. She says that made it even more special, because She was sharing it with people She loves. She said the movie was brilliant, well done and sweet. There were parts that made Her cry, and parts that made Her laugh. But the thing is, it is about blogs. In the movie, a lady wrote a blog and it really caught on. Do you know what else was special? She said the blog lady had a cat just like me! That tickled Her pink! My cat writes a blog, She said.
Before the movie, She went to church and heard one of the boys She has known for a long time. Since he was little. He brought his band, and did a wonderful church service. It was about the soul in the music. She said this day was a great success for feeding her heart. The boy was so smart, She said, that he made the people understand things they may not have done before.
This has been a special day, and I am so glad She enjoyed it - but I wish it had not thundered so much when She wasn't here to get snuggles. Hey, someone is putting kibbles in a dish! Toddle-oo.

In the Air

Can you tell there is something in the air today? I could tell when I smelled the spicy, warm bagel that popped up in the toaster today. It was one of the special ones that Deena's Mom gave Her. I had 8 fingers of butter, that bagel was so good! Even Kasey came and sniffled her finger, but she ran away and didn't taste it. Luckily for me. It was my 8th finger of bbutter!
One thing that has Her tickled pink is that She will see LW and the Alphas tomorrow. Don't tell, but She has a surprise for LW's Mom. (Snerk) Later She might go to a movie with Her friends. He won't go, because He doesn't like movies with chickens in them. He calls them chick flicks. But He will meet with Dudley's Mom (We have never seen Dudley) and they will talk about computer business. She is excited that He is interested in another project. Just so it doesn't cost money, this time, She says. She is very particular about money!
The most exciting thing is that She is cooking spaghetti for Their supper. There is some pretend sausage for Him and meatballs for Her. Life goes on, She says.
I have to go look out the window. I think Katy is in the yard. TTYL.

Cat Comments

There is a lot to comment on today. This morning, Kasey was very upset about the cat at the door. It was the daddy of Katy's kittens, and he was yowing very loudly for some kibbles. Naturally, She brought him some kibbles and put them by the front door. He is a very loud yower, and also very hungry. Kasey says he's a bum, and not to share with him, but They just say it is easier than hearing him yow.
One thing that had Her feeling tickled pink today was Her lunch with Deena's Mom. We really love Deena's Mom. Today she brought us some bagels, which are a great place for butter, (ahem) in case She wants to give butter to anycat. I was so happy to see those lovely bagels, but She said I have to wait until tomorrow for my butter. OK, I'll wait, but that butter will be SOOOO good!
On the way home from Her lunch, She stopped and got some food for Him, made out of vegetables. It is supposed to taste like real food, and She will fix spaghetti for Their supper. She'll do that tomorrow, because tonight She is having the rest of Her lunch. She brought it home, because She had a pie that was extremely tall. At least that is what She told Him. I have never seen anything like that, and She says I am not likely to. I think I'll give her some extra snuggles now, because I smell shrimp, and I need to have her think of Her cat when She eats them! Toodle Pip.

Hail to the Chief

I thought She was never going to get off the computer yesterday! She was just trying to ignore all the stuff She has to do, I believe. But one thing She accomplished was signing up to go to work for the President's people today. She really likes this President, and wants him to get some plan for health care for everyone. I don't think this includes cats, but if it Makes Her happy, it is fine with us. So She is telling everyone about Her chance to help the cause. Sometimes it is a waste of time, She says, because so many people around here want him to fail. That just makes Her want to work all the harder. I expect some major snuggles when She gets back from this work!
She is thinking about our Auntie Lisa, and hoping she is doing fine. She also wonders if Frankie ever came back to Smudge's house. She is excited for Mable's boy, too, because he got a nice job for while he finishes school. One thing that makes Her tickled pink is that Her grandchildren taught Her to do something really hard on the computer. She has tried so many times, but today it worked! She is really ready to go and help the President! I'll just wait for Her in a comfy spot. Toodles.

A Cat Chat

It was an interesting day today, and we got a lot done. I had several fingers of butter to start with, and that gave me energy to stalk things and chase my sister. He and She are working on getting some money things arranged, so that his mother can stay in her place. That makes Him feel better, especially. He had the energy to cut the lawn, so we don't get one of those letters that make Her angry. He has been much better since He started taking the right medicine, and She is so happy about that!
Another nice thing was that She got to have coffee this afternoon with Mable's Mom. They have to get in all the fun things they can, because school starts in just 12 days, and She loves to have coffee and lunches with M'sM. When She got home, She told him about a thing called a frozen moka. It is like coffee, but it is icy and you drink it with a straw. You have to drink it slowly, She says, or you get a brain freeze. That sounds very dangerous. Anyway, She says, if you drink it slowly, it will last longer. That may be a joke. I am not sure.
Many things have come in the mail in boxes, so Kasey is pleased. I guess it is Her Christmas shopping. She is not cheap, She says. She is a bargain hunter! I am a things-on-the-floor hunter, so I must go now, and stalk some things before She picks them up. TTYL.

Clever Cats and Kittens

Guess who came to see us last night. It was Katy's 4 kittens, who are 4 weeks old. That means they are too little to leave their mommy, but they can come to see us in their box. Katy's Mom and Katy's Girl brought them over and it was a good way to cheer Her up, after Her sad-happy day. Katy waited outside. There are 3 girls and 1 boy, and they are all gray, like Katy, except for one, who is striped, like their dad. Katy's Mom wants to find good homes for them. K'sM said she would take them to a pet store, but She doesn't like the idea. Put an ad in the paper, She said. Put an ad in the web site of where we live. They cannot come live with us, because they have claws, and we don't. Kasey was very watchful and told Her we don't need any kittens! She held each one, and Kasey did not like that one bit. Kasey sat at the table and just watched all this holding and cuddling. Kasey told Her that those kittens were not cute, and said she would hiss if they came back! Kasey is quite rude to visitors.
We watched a picture about a cat who plays the piano. He and She thought it was wonderful, and watched some of them twice. I asked politely if we could have a piano so I could do that. Kasey said hmmph. She laughed and said a piano was not likely, but maybe we could go and play at LW's house someday. LW has a piano.
All that watching has made me sleepy. Nitey Nite.

She Needs Us

Today She was smiling and crying at the same time. He and She were so happy to go and visit Mazie and her family and friends. They took a big bag of presents, because Mazie has a birthday in a few days. They also took Mazie's oldest brother, because he lives close to Them. Yes, She was happy and excited and full of pets and skritches for me, extra butter, and treats for Kasey. When They got close to Mazie's house, She started to choke up. He told us She was brave through the whole lunch, but when it was time to leave, She thought She might not see them again, at least for a long, long time, because Mazie's Dad has a wonderful new job very very far away. She is happy about that, so it makes Her smile. She is sad that they are going so soon, and who knows when She will see her darling kid again. So She is smiling and crying - and I am waiting to give her lots of snuggles.
Oh, yes - Mazie liked her big bag of birthday presents. A peculiar day. I'm glad They are home. Oh-ree-vwar.

Mable's Mom

One of our favorite friends is Mable's Mom. M'sM is a truly good person, She says, and does not deserve all the sad things that have happened to her! First, M'sM had a bad fall, and was hurting very much for a long time. She also has something wrong with her heart, which both of Them say just can't be right, because her heart is made of gold. She has had to see doctors for both those things. Then her glasses broke, and M's M can't even see without her glasses, so she can't drive, or read, or play on her computer. I know how bad she and Mable must feel about all these problems. What She says is now everything needs to be just wonderful for M'sM, because there has been enough bad going on. I hope She is right, because Kasey and I love Mable's Mom, too. She really understands about cats, even though Mable is a d-o-g.
We know that LW's sibs have two of Smudge's little sisters, and we are very excited about that. Smudge's brother, who got whispered in just like Smudge, escaped from the carrier on the way to the vet. Smudge said he will come right back home if he knows what's good for him. Living outside is a hard life. We are glad we can live inside and get kibbles and water and snuggles. I'll tell you when I learn more. Bye, now.
