Crone Cats

I could not be a Crone, because it is for girls, and Kasey could not be a Crone, because she is not wise. Crones are wise, you know. Today was a special lunch for Her beloved Crones. They went to a beautiful place a long, long way from here. Mable'sMom drove, which was fun for Her. Lot's of Mom's were there. Beside Mable'sMom, there was Deena'sMom and Smudge'sMom. Smudge'sGirl said she was really Domino'sMom! The ThinkingLady was there, and The NearlyCrone, who brought her girl, who is a Cronelet. Oh, She was chuffed! It was a delicious meal, She told Him, and they have a vegetables lunch, too, if He wants to go. Of course, He can't be a Crone, either. He and I are out of luck in the Crone department. I saw that She had a box when She came in, and I believe I sniffled fish, but I'm not getting my hopes up until She shows it to me.
Everyone was nice and listened to Her tell about going to see Her beloved Eddie and Her beloved OperaGirl. It was a perfect day, and She is ready to watch some shows with Him and a certain coffee-colored cat. (Ahem.) She feels lucky that She has such nice friends, and I have such cute cousins. She will be patient about waiting to fly away. Don't wish your life away, Coffs, She says. Take each day as it comes - and next thing you know, She will be seeing OG!
Let me check on that box She brought home from the Crones' Lunch. Toodle Pip.

People and Cats

Kasey and I were laughing today, about how funny people are. Did you know that people sometimes worry about the way they look? I don't see why they don't just groom themselves and think about how beautiful they are. That is what Kasey ande I do, and it works fine for us. In our house, there is a picture of Them from long, long ago, and they look one way. There is a picture of Them the way They look now. That is the one we like best, because in that picture, They look like Him and Her. On Her wall-board, She has a picture of Mazie when she was just a little kid, and she is playing with a cat. She looks cute and nice. Next to that is a picture of her from last week, and she looks cute and nice, only bigger. People make me laugh. And Kasey laughs, too. Well, she doesn't exactly laugh, but she smiles.
There are lots of pictures of Her beloved Eddie in that room, too. In all those pictures, he looks like a handsome man with a little beard, kind of like mine. Sometimes Eddie dresses up like a girl. When he does that, She says Eddie looks beautiful. I think he is more like me than Him and Her. He grooms himself and thinks about how beautiful he is. Smart guy.
If you look at the pictures of Kasey and me, you will see how we look every single day and we'll look like that as long as we live. What? You think there is some white hair around my mouth? Well, if it is turning a bit white, I believe it is beautiful. TaTa.

Take-Home Cats

No, we do not mean that we want someone to take us home. Quite the opposite, in fact. This is the perfect home for Kasey and me. What I mean is, almost every time She goes to get things to eat, She brings home a box with enough food for Her dinner, and to share with Her cats. Even Kasey comes to sniffle what She has in the box, but she never tries to taste it. I always welcome a taste, especially when it is fish. Today it was not fish. In fact, as much as She loves fish, She has to check that it's not from where all the oil got into the water. She does not want oily fish.
Today, Her take-home box had most of a giant hamburger. She said it was a cheeburger, but that didn't sound right. The piece I got to taste was definitely hamburger. She went with Mable'sMom and they had a paper to save money on that food. Her friends, good food and saving money are great, She told Him. But a hamburger place is not a good place for Him, Vegetables. You know.
It is LW's biggest sister's birthday today, so She called her up and told her happy birthday. She made a note on Her calendar that LW's people would come over on Friday. The birthday-sister is a good friend of Kasey's. That is the only person that Kasey ever lets pet her head. She is a magical kid.
She was singing around here today, thinking of going far away to Her OperaGirl's house. I don't want to talk about that. Anyway, I have to check out the closet. Is that thunder?

In-Basket Cats

Most of the day I spent on Her desk while She let Her fingers fly until She had Her tickets to see Her beloved Eddie, and Her beloved OperaGirl! After She got the tickets, there went the flying fingers again, making sure She has a ride to OG's house. It wore me out, I tell you. Too much work for a Sunday, I think. Well, of course She is chuffed. She gets to see our Cousins Lion and Nick, and we get to stay home with Him. Oh, He is a very nice Dad, but He is not She, and I am Her baby-cat. Of course, Kasey doesn't care.
She took a break at lunch time, and when She hurried back to the computer, OperaGirl had bought the tickets, so it is all done but the huge amount of hugging that goes on at these meetings. Wouldn't it be fun if Smudge'sMom could go, too? Smudge'sMom'sBoy lives in the same place where Her OG lives. I guess it will be all about this trip around here. If She gets Her picture with Her beloved Eddie, it won't matter that we have to be lonesome for a while.
The worry part of Her life is that He was sleeping almost all day again. He did cut the grass, but then He went back to bed. She will tell Him to call Her every day while She is gone.
There a a lot of days until then, so we will make the most of them. In fact, She needs a little massage right now. Ah-dyoo.

Smiling Cats

There was a lot to smile about today. For one thing, Mable'sMom picked Mable up from the place where she was vacationing. She goes there when her Mom and Boy go away. Mable was so happy to be home that she actually laughed out loud! And She was smiling, because She went to have coffee with M'sM, and She had a fancy coffee and got a present from M'sM that was more coffee! M'sM sure knows what She likes! It was exciting to hear about the adventures from where they went. Soon She will have pictures of the place where Her Grandma was born. M'sM says it was beautiful.
After She checked Her messages, She was feeling kind of sad for Her Eddie. Her Florida Little Sis said that Eddie did not get good marks for the play. She spent some time double-checking when the planes go to where Eddie and Her OperaGirl are. She thinks She has to go, now. She says Eddie needs his Gran at a time like this. She will give him a hug if She has to wait outside the play all night. Both of us curled up and watched Eddie's movie this afternoon, the one where he says Believe. When She hears from Her OperaGirl, She will buy Her ticket. Who needs groceries, She says.
Speaking of groceries, I hear some kibbles calling my name. So long for now.

One Cat in Trouble - For Awhile

Yes, friends, it's me. I don't know what came over me. I was just so happy getting pets that I forgot how much She doesn't like it, and I gave Her a little bite. If you want to know the fastest way to get a good petting to stop, just give a little nip. I have told Her a bunch of times that it is not a mean bite, but She has this thing about anything that seems to be mean. No bites, She says. OK, I'll try to remember.
But if She was kind of mad at me, it all went away when Deena'sMom came over and brought good things to eat. If She offers me a taste, I'll know She has forgiven me. That is the kind of nice thing D'sM does. That is a true friend, She says, because D'sM had to come kind of far to bring that stuff. But She told me that She would love Deena'sMom even if she didn't bring anything!
Also, She got a call from Mable'sMom today. M'sM is back from the trip she had with Mable'sBoy, and they are knackered from all the flying. It will be fun to see them and hear all about the places they saw. She is right chuffed, now that M'sM and Smudge'sMom are back where they belong! Now, if only She can find a way to get to where Eddie is in a play. She is working on it. She is one determined old lady, let me tell you. Here is what She keeps saying - Ya gotta BELIEVE. I think She learned that from Her Eddie. Anyway, I am going to check on those cookies Deena'sMom brought. Lucky for Her they are wrapped up tight. Oddy-ose, chicas.

Chipper Cats

Oh, my, but She was smiling today! One of Her favorite things is to have lunch with friends, and one of Her favorite friends is Deena'sMom! She has been looking forward to their lunch all week, and to make it even more fun for Her, D'sM brought a bunch of pictures of Deena'sGirl and her babies. It was a couple of Grandma's just having fun - and good food - together. Yes, She brought home some of that lunch, and yes, She will give me a taste. She said so.
Another happy thing is that Mable'sMom and Boy are coming home from their trip far across the world. They have been gone for lots of days and weeks, and She put some food in their kitchen so they would have a snack when they get home. She said do you know what's more American than Apple Pie? Nothing. So they will know they are home.
She and Her OperaGirl are planning for Her visit to see Her beloved Eddie in his play. She is sad that She doesn't have the money She needs, but She will figure it out somehow. I guess He and She agreed that this is just too good to miss, so He will stay here to take care of (ahem) the Cats, and She thinks He is like Her friend whose sister said she would rather have her go than to hear her whining about missing it the rest of her life.
Hmmm. Meat and cheese. I will like this leftover lunch. Chow, bellas.

Strange Day Cats

Everything was going along fine - butter and snuggles and a drink of water from the bathtub faucet - when the sky got all dark. I was helping Her with a crossword puzzle, and we were all settled down. Kasey was on her blanket, He was at the store, when all at once the thunder started. I tried very hard not to let it bother me, but it was no use. It was very loud and I imagined it was right in the back yard. What could I do? I had to run to get on my blanket in the closet. The rain began to pour down hard. I don't mind the rain, as long as I am safe inside. It is that thunder that gets me every time. Well, it's all over now. He was all wet when He came home, but it didn't bother Him. He just changed His clothes. I can't do that.
Mostly, She was studying the cost of flying to where Her OperaGirl lives. It is more than She can stand to know that Eddie is in that play, and She can't see it! Here is what She says - Drat those fake teeth and all the money they cost. She has almost figured out, though, how to get to go. Of course, Eddie doesn't care, but don't tell Her that.
Well, She is just happy that Smudge'sMom and Mable'sMom will both be home soon, and all will be well again. Annd LW's biggest sister is having a birthday. With all these good things, She feels like the flying thing has to work out. I hope She doesn't go and leave me here, but if She is happy, well, I guess it would be OK. Have to go stalk something. Later, gator.

A Thinking and Biting Day

Today was Thinking People day, and He and She were so happy to go see their friends and have a big discussion about The World. He was still sleepy today, and She had to keep poking Him to wake Him up during the discussion, but when it was His turn to talk, He sounded as if He had been awake. When She pondered about how She had changed the world, She didn't think She had changed much, but then The ThinkingLady reminded Her that all that teaching must have passed on some good. It made Her feel better.
After They came home and had lunch, I had to give Her a lot of snuggles, because She was so worried about Him. She had on a black shirt with a big white coffee-the-drink cup. When I finished with the snuggles, Her shirt was all full of my hair. She didn't think about that, and went off to the tooth people covered in hair. I could not stop laughing about that.
At the tooth place, they put some nasty stuff in Her mouth, and had to keep pushing on it for five minutes, until it got hard. She told Him it hurt when they pulled it out at last, and She was afraid all Her teeth would come with it. I think that calls for more snuggles. Well, that's what I do here, so off I go to give a snuggle and a massage. TTYL

Sleepy He

This morning He was very groggy, because He didn't sleep well last night. You couldn't prove it by Her. She sleeps like a thing that's good at sleeping. But He sleeps more like a cat. He goes to sleep in small parts. The difference is, He can't always go back to sleep. Kasey and I can go back to sleep - or sometimes just pretend we're asleep so that we look really cute. So anyway, it was quiet around here today, while He finally went to sleep.
Last week, we sent Mazie a book to color when her school gets out. It is a really hard book of designs. You probably know what She hopes. She hopes Mazie will send Her a picture when she finishes one. Mazie's thank you note was charming, as usual, and it had a design sewed on cloth with it. He and She loved that. You know, anything Their Grandchildren do makes them happy.
Which reminds me that Her beloved Grandson, Eddie, is starting his first day in the play he is in.
That means there will be a lot of news for Her tomorrow!
She also has Thinking People and the dentist tomorrow, so She will be sure to remind Him to get plenty of sleep. His mind has to be awake for thinking.
I am going to get a few kibbles and a drink of water. I may throw in some snuggles, too. Bye.

Fun With Cleo's People

Oh, Kasey and I often think of our cousin Cleo, who is not alive any more. What a wonderful thing to have Cleo'sGirl and Cleo'sDad come and spend some time with us! I showed them how snuggly I was, and Kasey showed off her racing skills, and neither of us went to hide. He and She were right chuffed to have them here. All they needed to make it better would be if Cleo'sMom was there, too. She was at work, though. Maybe next time.
We heard from Mable'sMom and Smudge'sMom today. Both of them are far away. M'sM is where Her Grandma came from, and She is excited that She will hear about that when M'sM and Boy get home. Smudge'sMom and all the family are getting ready to come home, too. That will make the world right again, She says.
Her OperaGirl went on her practice walk today. Tomorrow she will go see Our Beloved Eddie in a play, and She wishes She could see it with her. Her OzGirl is going, too. They have seen Eddie so many times that they are like sisters to him, She says. She is wondering if Their Eddie will sound like an American in the play. She also wonders if he will have his goatee. Her OG will tell Her on the day after tomorrow, I am sure. She wonders if Eddie got the gift She sent. She will find that out, too.
This is a day for fathers. We did not know our fathers, and neither did He or She, so They are wishing other fathers a happy day. They also wish LW'sMom and Dad a Happy Birthday. She bets they had good cake!
I have to go lie in that spot of sun now, so Toodles.

TummyAche Cats

There was a bit of gacking up today, but She knows it was not me that gacked on Her nightstand, because I never get on Her nightstand. That distinction goes to the little lady who spends her life begging for treats. Well, She cleaned it right up, and we were all happy it diidn't mark up the wood. I suppose you think Kasey got in trouble for that. I'm sorry, but you would be wrong. Oh, poor Kasey, She said. Did her have a tummyache? Kasey actually ler Her snuggle her for a couple of seconds. These people are so lucky to have me here, keeping things nice.
Of course, She is chuffed today, because Her OperaGirl walked a bunch of miles this morninng. She is practicing for a long walk in a while. OG is going to take pictures of the lovely places she goes to practice. He and She hope OG raises lots of $$$ for helping people get well. I'll find out how, and you can help, too.
LW went to have the doc examine her little eyes today. LW'sMom says LW may have to wear a patch on her eye, just like a pirate. That would be cute - but LW is like Kasey and me - Everything she does is cute!
What's cooking tonight is something called pot pie. It doesn't sound very good, but She says it tastes nice, and She will give me a taste so I can see for myself. Chow, bellas.

Knackered Cats

The thing is, She doesn't go to the store every day. When it is time for Her to get the food and stuff for the month, She goes away with a long list and a pocket full of coupons. If She can't save $$, She won't go. What happens, then, is that She takes a really long time to get everything She wants at the store. She goes up and down and across the store, so She gets a lot of exercise when She goes. That is only a part of it, though. She has to put the things in the car, drive home, and take them out again. She doesn't know what She would do if He didn't help Her. Then comes our part. We help Her put things away. Kasey has to investigate the doors and shelves in the kitchen, and I have to make sure all the bags are empty. Whew. All this makes a cat tired and hungry. When all the chores are done, we all sit down and have a rest. And things are good for another month.
We are hoping that Smudge's family had a good, safe trip in the airplane. They went so far away that they ended up right next to another country. It is a sad and happy visit, but She still can't wait for them to come back.
I could actually use another short nap before our kibbles, so I will bid you Odd-you.

Munchie Cats

I guess you know that we like our things to eat over here. Well, today She and Cleo'sMom found a new place, and we all got to share. Every day, She gets a chance to get a special coupon for a new place to try. Sometimes they are for things She doesn't want, but sometimes they are for places to eat. She goes to these places with Mable'sMom, usually, but today She wanted to have some time with Cleo'sMom. She just loves Cleo'sMom. They went to a place where they had special kinds of meals, and one of them was all made of vegetables. After they got their meat things, She got a vegetable one to take home to Him. Since She brought home half of Hers, I will get some, too. It's enough to make a guy purr.
It still left enough time for Her to check on Her OperaGirl, who works very hard at a job, then has to practice her opera singing. What She worries about is Her OG getting enough rest. But OG is young, and has lots of nice things to do, so I check with her cats to make sure she's fine.
It makes Her a little lonesome to think of Smudge'sMom and whole family going far away, but they will be back in a week. So will Mable'sMom, so all will be will in just awhile.
I had better get out there before She eats up all Her munchies and doesn't have any left for me. Sy-o-nara.

She Gets a Tooth

We did a lot of straightening up today, but mostly, we reminded Her that She needed to go get that new tooth. I looked into Her mouth, and I saw where the new tooth was supposed to go. There is no way Kasey and I could get fake teeth like that. Anyway, She does not like me to bite with the teeth I have. She realy, really doesn't like it. She doesn't use Her teeth to bite us. They are for Her to bite things She wants to eat. When I bite Her, it is a gentle bite, to tell Her I love Her, but She doesn't understand, so I have to think twice about it.
I thought they were going to measure Her for the fake teeth that will go where they pulled the two teeth out, but She has to go back next week for that. Then She has to wait until they make the fake teeth. No wonder She doesn't like to pay them so much money. We have to tell Her to be patient. She says (snerk) to that.
One thing She is chuffed about is that He stayed home from His meeting tonight. She heard that it would storm, and His meeting is a far-away drive. It was a worry to Her that He would get into a lot of deep water when He was coming home. For Her supper tonight, She is making pizza, which is one of Her favorites. I am sure She will give me a taste, though, because She can't eat a whole pizza. I am going to check on that right now. So long, everybody.

Don't Worry Cats

There was nothing for us to worry about today. Everything was kind of regular. We had butter and treats, and had a few snuggles, and then She went to the store. It was not the kind of store where She gets things to eat. It was where He and She go for their medicine. You will not be surprised to know that while She was there She got one of those coffee-the-drinks that She loves so much. That was mostly Her lunch today.
The people who are fixing Her teeth called today and said She should come in tomorrow for one more fake tooth. After that, She needs to wait for Her fake teeth that go into the empty space. After taht, She says, She will be able to chew whatever She wants. Maybe even a steak! She has not had a steak since He started eating just vegetables. I think She doesn't want to tempt Him - but it might be because of her missing teeth.
That's enough about teeth. She mailed off the DVD that She wants to give Her beloved Eddie. If he tells Her he got it, She will be chuffed. If not, She will send one more for Her OperaGirl to give him.She feels very lucky to have such helpful people. I am glad Her people have such helpful cats! I have to go and give Her some extra snuggles, because She misses Mable'sMom, who is very, very far away, where they drink bier. I don't know what that is, because They don't drink it here, But M'sM says it is very good. Off to my snuggle-duty. Have a pleasant night.

Company Cats

You have probably guessed that Kasey and I have different reactions to company. Well, today LW and her whole family came to visit with Them. I was giving Her snuggles when the doorbell rang, so I had to make a dash for my blanket in the closet. Meanwhile, Kasey was curled up on Their bed, where she likes to rest during the day. I could hear how happy She was when they all came in. Remember - it was LW's next sister who had a birthday, and She gave the birthday girl her little gift. LW brought some good things for Them to eaat, and He was completely chuffed that they brought Him one made of vegetables.
One thing that was a surprise is how LW's biggest sister won over Kasey! No one usually can pet Kasey and play with her, but that clever girl got Kasey to accept pets, and to play mousie! I let her pet me, but I stayed where I was safe. I think She told everyone that I was a scaredy-cat, and they were very nice about it. That girl has the next birthday, except for her parents. When She got presents for these guys, She was a little more thrifty than usual, because of how expensive Her teeth are. Lucky for Her, LW's famil understands about that.
Guess what my cousin Lion told me today? We think Her OperaGirl can get Her some good prices on an airplane ride. What She says is you gotta BELIEVE!
I didn't get any of the things that LW brought for Them to eat, so I will be very ready for my dinner. Toodles.

Football Cats

All our friends are talking about today is football. Not the kind of football where you wear lots of padding and get knocked down a lot. No, the kind of football that He and She call soccer. I guess the rest of the world calls it football, and I don't know what they call the one where you get knocked down. Maybe you know this, but She does not like these kinds of games. She likes soccer better than rough and mean games, but She doesn't love it, the way She loves puzzles. Their precious friend, who was Cleo'sMom, loves all kinds of games like these. And one of Their thinking friends got a huge TV so they could watch these games, which take place halfway around the world, and some of the thinking people are there today. He and She didn't go. That was good, because there were some really loud noises today, and I was glad for a friendly lap. Kasey didn't care.
Our cousin Lion told me that She could get a ticket to see Her beloved Eddie in that play. She really hugged me when I told Her that. Now, if only She could get an airplane ticket.........She will keep trying.
What fun to talk to LW's next sister yesterday! That little angel is about the same age as Kasey and me, and it made Her heart sing, just to hear her voice. Maybe She will see her tomorrow.
That is what She hopes. For today, though, it is gumbo day, and it makes the kitchen smell very nice. I will go and get some extra sniffles while She cooks. She is letting le bon temps roulez. That's French.

Research Cats

What we had to help Her with today was research. You see, She has this yearning to go to the place where Her OperaGirl lives. If She went there, She could see Her OperaGirl, but also Her other two girls who live in that far-away place. Of course, if She went all the way to that place, and if Her beloved Eddie were going to be in a show there.....well, I guess you get my hint. She would see Her delightful friends, and see Her Eddie in a show. She says it would be a win-win-win-win. And She might even see Smudge'sBoy. He lives there, too.The sad part is, the tickets to go to that place cost a lot of money. So do the tickets to the show, I think. I don't like to say it's a lose-lose-lose-lose, but it is not likely to happen. He and She have enough money to be happy, and even a little extra to go to see Eddie with Smudge'sMom, but, well, you can't have everything, and at least He and She are healthy for a couple of old people.
Another person who is saving money for something is Her beloved Lilyanne. Today is Lily's birthday, and so He and She got Lily a bank. It counts out the money she will save, and soon she will have enough for the thing she wants. That's the way to do it, She says. It will make what she gets more special to her that way. We are very lucky, Coffs, She says to me. We don't have everythinng, but we have enough. Enough is as good as a feast - that's what Her Grandma said, and it's true. And OperaGirl will tell Her all about the show, because she will watch it for Her. That makes Her right chuffed.
I have to check out a noise I hear. It might be the TV, or it might be a dangerous cat. I'll let you know. TaTa.

Skip-a-Day Cats

I guess She was so excited to visit with Her beloved Crones that She became a little careless, and turned off this computer before I had time to write my story yesterday. It was an interesting day, too, with Crones and thunder and good things to eat. But never mind that. Today was interesting, too. This morning She woke up very early. She hates that. But She had to go and see Her doc at 8 AM. Luckily, all Her tests were fine, She didn't need any new medicine, and She got home in time to fix some toasted bread with butter on it.I liked that. She had to say goodbye to Mable'sMom and Boy, because they are going very, very far away on an airplane, and they will see where Her grandmas and grandpa were born. She is so happy for them.
Later today, She took a ride with Katy'sMom and Boy so that he could see a lady that helps him with his problems. It is fun to go with them, and She likes to know what is going on with Katy's Boy and Girl, because She loves them, and wants them to do well in school. She also wants them not to make their mom crazy.
So it is good that She is finally home and settled for the day. She is fixing a salad with chicken in it. Do you remember who likes chicken? That's right. Me. I will go and look really cute, so She will give me some. TTYL

Brave Cats

It takes a really brave cat to hear some loud thunder and not go and hide. I got up close to Her face and just snuggled during the worst of it. She was petting me and saying there, there, Coffee, you are nice and safe right here. That was very good to hear, but She doesn't realize how dangerous that thunder is. Today, it even made the lights go out. Kasey just snuggled on her blue blanket. (See picture at the bottom of the page.) Well, the lights came back on, so She decided to go and get a treat for Herself. Not something to eat this time. She went to a new place and got Her fingers and toes all trimmed and pretty. If She can't go on a vacation, She says, this is the next best thing. She liked the new place because it wasn't noisy and bustling, like the old place. When She came home, She was very happy about Her fingers and toes. He told Her they looked nice, which was exactly the right thing to say. Wouldn't Eddie think they look nice, Coffs? She said. I just looked innocent, and thought that Eddie would - if he knew what's good for him!
When it is dark and thundery like this, I think of our dog-cousin, Tori-Tzu, and hope she is happy in her new home, and that she doesn't miss her mom too much. I remember that she didn't like the thunder, either. Kasey and I are lucky cats, when you think about it. I hear kibbles going into a dish. I must go and check on this. Oddy-ose.

Kasey Helps Out

I guess Kasey thinks that she has bloogging skills, because she has been sitting on Her desk and watching Her do computer stuff. I know Kasey wants treats, which She keeps on Her desk, but when She got up and went into the other room, Kasey stayed here to watch me. That would have been OK, except she kept telling me what to write. I am as willing to take suggestions as anyone, but all Kasey wants to do is to tell everyone that she needs more treats, and rude things like that. I am not writing that, because she gets too many treats now, and gacks them up on the carpet.
What I really need to tell you is that She found Her beloved root beer at the store and She is chuffed. He couldn't find any before, and brought Her the kind with sugar in it. Of course, She told Him that was sweet of him. (There was sugar in it, get it?) They sometimes think the strangest things are funny. She also found blueberries on sale, and They were eating them as if they were popcorn. Both of Them have blue tongus now. Eeeww.
There was a lot of thunder today, but it didn't rain. I didn't go into the closet either, no matter what Kasey tells you. I got on the hidden bookshelf, but it got nice again right away. Hey. Kasey was trying to put her paws on the letters. I had to make a mean face at her, and she jumped down and ran away. That means I have to chase her, so Toodles.

Brunch Surprise

Katy'sMom gave Them a ticket for free things to eat at a really nice place, where you can tell the people what you want when you see it. When they got there, there was a sign that said all you can eat breakfast. It was a giant surprise, because it was all one price, and not separate for each thing. She could hardly believe Her luck. You know what She loves. Brunch. So instead of the lunch She thought She would have, She had almost every kind of breakfast thing. She was chuffed.
It made Her kind of sad and kind of mad when Mable'sMom told Her that the people at Mable'sBoy's graduation did not act very nice. They were talking and yelling and blowing horns, and it was not the way a graduation is supposed to be. She says a graduation is supposed to be dignified. That means everyone should act serious and polite. Graduation is very important, She says, and should not be treated like a ball game. From what I have heard, She is out of luck with that idea.
One thing that She is happy about is that Mable'sMom and Boy don't have to go to school tomorrow. She remembers what a nice feeling that is.
It is getting very rainy and thundery right now. I will have to check out that safe place in the closet. You never can tell about thunder. sy-o-nara.

Gumbo Cats

You know, She sings a song about a Gumby Cat. Well today we are GumBO cats, because our spaghetti day has turned into a gumbo day. To tell the truth, gumbo is more interesting than spaghetti, at least to Kasey and me.
She had something good to eat this morning, but it was someplace else, and She didn't bring any home. It was a meeting with Mable'sMom and their little lady friend. It was lucky that Mable'sMom could go, because Mable'sBoy is graduating from school, but not until long after brunch, so they talked and talked and talked, until She finally came home. I don't know anybody that talks as much as She does. No wonder She has trouble breathing sometimes.
One thing She has in Her mind is getting Her Eddie into liking a singer that He and She like. She is working out how to do this, and getting advice from someone who knows about such things. So the mystery is whether her Eddie will get it. Don't worry, I'll report on what happens. She will be so chuffed, because this guy sings about some of the things Eddie talks about.
She is kind of worried about Her OzGirl and cousin Ollie'sDad. They are reporting bad weather. And so is Her friend in Maine. No bad weather here, unless you don't like hot. It is always hot here. I have to go and stalk a green ribbon that I spotted on the floor a few minutes ago. Bye.

Fun Day Cats

Today, She went to visit some very special friends. At their house, they have two Moms, a cat, a d-o-g, a bird, and two teenagers. She says She doesn't know the name of the cat, but she is black. That is very annoying, because She knows (or She should) how important it is for us to know cat-friends. She promsed us that She would find out. Anyway, She loves these people, and talked for hours with them - though it seemed like a minute. What She told us is that there are some people that don't take any work to enjoy, and these are that kind of people. Plus, they gave her special coffee, which She loves, and special water, which was awesome. Here is what She told Him - You slice up a cucumber, then you slice up a lemon, and you put the slices in a pitcher. That is a kind of serving jar. Fill it with water, and let it stay in the refrigerator awhile. When you pour it out it is delicious.
Tonight, He went to see a movie with His movie-club friends. He will tell uus all about it when He gets home. She doesn't go with Him to this club, so She stays here with us and chills. She says we chill too much, because the electricity bill came, and She says it is outrageous. We won't mention it to Her, and suggest that you don't either, unless you want to hear Her tell you about the people She calls Robber Barons. I am ready to just chill, so She can turn the numbers higher. Hope you get to chill. TTYL

Freedom Cats

If you are a teacher or a kid, we bet you are pretty happy today. School is out, and She is celebrating ten years of retirement. Kasey and I did not know Her when She was a teacher. She told us She loved being a teacher, but She is not foolish, so She liked vacations, too. One thing that has Her chuffed today is that Mable'sMom is a teacher, and now she is free. We like that. M'sM told Her she was having a spa day tomorrow. That means shhe will be treated like a cat all day. All except for the part about getting wet. We prefer to be dry while we get lots of attention.
She was also excited to know that Her OperaGirl saw Eddie last night. That is only a few days after seeing Eddie in the place far away. He is staying in the place where OG lives. Not in her house, but in her city. He is there to be in a play, remember?
Today, She showed us a story about how LW dances, and about her turning five years old. She was laughing and crying at the same time, because She loves LW so much, and She is so glad LW is healthy and five years old. All LW's sibs are free from school, as well as Kasey and me, but their Mom is still in school over the summer. It's OK, because LW'sMom likes going to school.
We are happy that the teachers and kids are free. We are celebrating with them. I'm glad we know how to dance. Poodle Tip. (Get it?)

Funny Day for Cats

Kasey and I have been laughing hard all day. You want to know why? Because She said She is taking the day off. Funny? No kidding - She takes every day off, we think. She was not exactly happy to find out we were laughing at Her, so I guess we had better stifle our chuckles for now.. You see, on Wednesdays She is almost always busy. Today, when She looked at Her calendar, it was blank. No meetings. No jobs. No errands. So She decided to just play on Her computer, read Her books, and work puzzles. And not feel guilty about it. I guess the trouble of going to work or school every day for a long, long time is that you forget how to just do fun stuff and not feel guilty.
She found the pictures that Her Opera Girl made of their beloved Eddie, and She looked at them, trying to decide which one She wanted. She knows She wants the picture of OperaGirl, OzGirl and Eddie all together.
His mother called Him and got Him all upset, so She is trying to make Him feel comfortable about being mad at her. She wishes He would just agree with her and forget it. She is so addled that she won't know the difference. He talks to her like she had some brain cells left. Which she has not, according to Her. Well, She ordered a song disk which She will send to Her Eddie when it comes. She is sure he will like it, and now he has an address. Sort of.
Sorry, but I have to go and look at a cat out the window. Bye for now.

They Were Thinking

I told you things would be better today. It was time to meet with Their thinking friends, and They love doing that. She heard some very nice things about a school that The Hostess visited, and it really cheered Her up to hear how well the kids were doing at that school, because the parents helped them. They talked about some laws and how they feel, and heard about everyone's news. It was delightful, She said.We don't go with Them to these things. Kasey won't get in the cage, and I am scared to go, so They don't even try to take us. Anyway, these people have a cat. She says it is black and white and friendly, but I don't think I would like to go where the cat has claws.
She didn't get pictures from Her OperaGirl today, because OG was really knackered when she got back from seeing their Eddie. This time he was dressed like a girl, like he does sometimes, and She has never seen him like that at the shows She went to, either with Him or with Smudge'sMom. She is curious about how Her OG liked seeing Eddie like that. OG had her picture taken with Eddie in his girl clothes, and She will want a copy of that. OzGirl is in the picture, too. I bet that tomorrow, after she has a rest and her work, Her OperaGirl will tell Her the whole story. Oh, Coffs, I am aquiver, She said. That means excited.
I have to go watch Her cutting Her nails. It is funny, because Her hand shakes. I don't laugh, though. I am not rude. Kasey laughs. Sy-o-nara.
