Persistent Cats

A lot of weeks ago, Kasey got out into the back yard and she ate a bunch of grass. They thought it was kind of cute, until Kasey resisted coming back in. Since then, He has to shut Kasey in the bedroom when He goes out to feed the birds. Kasey still goes to that door, jumps up on the little cabinet there, and sniffles at the doorknob. If she could, she would open it with her paw. He and She think that is amazing. Kasey hasn't been out for a long time, and she still waits at the door. What She says is that Kasey is persistent. That means she doesn't give up. In people, that is a good thing, but in cats, well, Kasey will be sniffling that doorknob when she is an old, old cat. There is a movie about Her beloved Eddie that says you have to believe and keep working on your plan. Who knows. One day Kasey may figure out how to get out there, and then she will eat her heart's desire of grass. I am persistent about a lot of things, too. I know how to remind Them when I need water or kibbles. She knows - if I jump up on Her, and jump down, then up again, then down - well, you get it. She checks my bowls.
He is still working on getting His mother in the old person's place. There are a lot of details. He is good at details, but it does make him knackered. It makes Her knackered, too, but mostly because He is so worried. If only, She says, if only.........but She doesn't say if only what. Maybe you know. Mmmm. She's finishing up the leftover pizza. Good cheese for cats. Toodles.
