This is the last day of March, and She wants to start April with some of Her tasks done. She gathered things up for Her trip to the place where She gives them away. She fixed up Her cheesecake for the freezer - I was kind of sad to see it go in the freezer, because that means I won't get another taste any time soon. There were things She has to throw away, but She hasn't got 27 yet, so maybe She will finish that tonight. Of course, we had to help Her with all these things. She got a good start, because She slept better than usual last night. Then for breakfast, we didn't have our bagel, but instead had a big muffinn that He brought Her from His meeting last night. It was OK, because She still gave me my butter.
Tonight is Her meeting with Her beloved Crones. She looks so forward to that. Maybe that's what gave Her all the energy today. She tried to get a report on Tori-Tzu's Mom for the Crones, but T-Tz'sM didn't want to talk, so She'll think of something.
He took His mother for a brain test, and she passed. That means her brain is not working, so He and She can take care of all her business. She says no surprise there, but She said it to me, not Him.
The spot of sunshine on the floor is particularly inviting. I think I'll go there and wash my face and paws. Poodle-Tip. (Get it?)

Present Cats
This is about presents from Smudge's Mom. When it was Christmas, He and She got a present from Smudge's Mom, which was a ticket for something good to eat. When They wanted it, They could give S'sM the ticket. Then, when it was Her birthday, She got another ticket that She was supposed to turn in for something to wear. Smudge's Mom is very good at cooking and making things. Well, today She went to collect the things They had tickets for. What She said was that She was a big winner! She got a beautiful new jacket, and there is not one more like it in the world. And She got an excellent cheesecake that is cooling on our table. She was so very tickled pink when She showed Him the nice stuff. He agreed that Smudge's Mom is talent from head to toe. We made a big fuss over Her new stuff, but we were not allowed to eat it or get fur on it. That's OK. We like presents, whoever gets them!
The bad news today was about the money They pay for Their house. The bank where They pay said They have to pay more money. It is lucky that She was happy about the presents, because She is very particular about money. She said She would think about that tomorrow, so for now, I think I'll go give Her some snuggles. Bye for now.

Things to Do Cats
Of course, She is still happy about seeing Her friends yesterday, but we had to get down to business. We didn't have time to sit and talk about how much fun She had, or who said what. We had to get right at that to-do list. After the bagel and butter, and after She checked Her messages, She started making a grocery list. It's grocery shopping time this week. Before She goes shopping, She has to cut a bunch of things out of the paper. Luckily for Her, I keep the scraps of paper out of Her way. She writes the list on an envelope, and puts the little pieces of paper (The ones that I didn't carefully move to the floor) in the envelope. I think they make Her remember what She needs to buy.
Then She had to go in the car to put a check into the bank. I heard Her say that She had paid too much on a bill. What kind of doofus does that, I wondered, but I didn't say anything, and She took the check to the bank.
One thing that made Her smile is that She looked at a bunch of pictures of Her beloved Eddie. They were pictures from the shows that Her OperaGirl saw, and She showed them to Him. He said Eddie should see them. She says he would be chuffed.
Well, I am knackered after the busy day we had, but I think I'll have a snack before I go for a nap. Toodle Pip.

Cat-a-Peli's
You won't believe how happy and excited She was today! She was all ready and waiting when Mable'sMom picked Her up and they went to the place where they would see The friends from halfway around the world. She told Him that She could hardly believer Her eyes! The grown-ups looked exactly the same, but the children had grown as tall as She! They had a lovely time, She said, with them and some other friends, so She was right chuffed! She will remember thhis day, I know. It was like we felt when the d-o-g went away.
I win the bet I made with Kasey. She did bring some food home from the brunch. I had bet 7 treats that She would. I don't know what's in it yet, but I know it will be something with meat. One thing she did find out was that they have a very nice kind of vegetables for Him to eat. They will go back there some day, and She will remember the wonderful time She had today.
That is what today was all about, so I will go and have a nice nap. If anything new happens, I will tell you tomorrow. Chow.

Generous Cats
It seems as if we are always giving things away. He and She give lots of kibbles to Katy-next-door and her husband. That husband of hers looks really terrible. He has a big sore place on his fron leg where all the fur is gone. Same with a place behind his ear.on his head. Eeew. Who has he been in a fight with? Not us. And not Katy, because she is a lovely cat, especially since she was *fixed*.
I also give away a lot of snuggles. I am a SnuggleBug and a PurrFactory. That's what She says all the time. She also says we give her chuckles. Kasey doesn't snuggle, but she has trained Them to give her treats when she asks for them, and She thinks it's cute. For old people, They are sure easy to fool.
Today, She didn't make spaghetti. She brought home a big box of spaghetti and some vegetable called eggplant. There was enough for Him to have for His supper. She took some cheese off of it, because He doesn't eat cheese, but She said it was OK if a little was left, because it was low-fat cheese. How nice it is when She gets food at a food place, and there is enough to make another meal. Especially when it's things He likes.
Tomorrow She and Mable's Mom will see their friends from halfway around the world, and it is all She can do to wait until brunch time! I wonder if She will bring something home from there. We'll see. I have to check on Kasey now. She is meowing about something. TTYL

Cat-ticipation
She is so tickled pink that Her beloved friends are coming here from halfway around the world that she can't stop talking about it. She has to wait until Sunday, but they will have a nice Sunday Brunch together. The restaurant where they are going is the one Mable's Mom found and it is food from the country where the friends were born. Won't that be exciting? I am sure there will be more news about it later, since She is so happy.
One thing She doesn't have to wait long for is Cleo'sMom's birthday dinner. That will happen tonight, and they are going to eat Italian things, She says. She hopes the present She and He sent to C'sM got there in time.
One thing Her beloved Eddie talks about is bees, and one of Her Eddie-friends could not get the bee stuff that we have around here. That friend lives far away across the ocean, in the place where Her Eddie lives, so She sent him some of the bee stuff, and he told Her he loved the bee stuff. It got there really fast. It is not stuff to eat, it is for putting on your face. It sounds very strange to Kasey and me. Of course, we stay away from bees, so they don't bite us. And we don't rub things on our faces.
He just gave us some fresh water, so I will have a little drink now. Salood.

Calm Cats
When They got up this morning, the house seemed as if there had never been a d-o-g here. We had our treats and butter, She had her bagel and coffee-the-drink, and all was peaceful. Even better, He got His computer back from the fixing guy. All She had to do was to spray stuff so the floor smelled OK again. Kasey and I don't wee on the floor. Ahem. Her jobs today were happy jobs, getting ready for the across-the-world people and Her darling Cleo's Mom. We stopped a few minutes and said we missed Cleo, and we're glad she is at peace. Then we decided on a little gift for her Mom. She and Mable'sMom are going to get things to eat with Cleo's Mom. They are very good at that!
One thing He did that was super nice was to get Her a bunch of bagels, so that She would have enough to have one every day. He is nice like that. It is a good sign, She told me, that She made the right choice when She picked Him. She worries every day about His thinking, but He seems OK now. He is writing on His book.
This is funny. While She drives around, She can listen to Her beloved Eddie on CDs that Her OperaGirl gave Her. Sometimes She drives farther than She has to, just to hear his show. (snerk) I have to prowl around and stalk some things now. Later Gator.

Tricky Cats
Right now, we are pretty much basking in happiness of our lives being quite back to normal now. Not only is Tori-Tzu gone with a nice family - so She doesn't have to feel bad - but Smudge's little brother is found and now playing tricks on his family. He is not doing his normal things. What She said is that maybe the wild in him got pushed to the front when he found out he was stuck in the garage.
When you are a cat, you have lots of old times stuck in your head. There are memories in there of when we were considered very special animals. We don't always know we have the memories until something pushes on them. I have some memory somewhere of being where there were loud noises. When there is a loud noise, I jump about a foot, and Kasey just sits there. A very tricky business, figuring out cats.
This morning She was up early and went to get pictures of Her heart, because Her doc said She should, being so old and all. I guess everything is alright, because She was singing and smiling about Smudge's brother, and because some of Her favorite people are coming from a different land. She says their land is halfway around the world from here.
It is fun for me to find places to nap where Tori-Tzu used to be. I shall do that now. Bye bye.

Relieved Cats
Last night, some really nice people came to get Tori-Tzu, and She was much happier for her to go when She saw how happy Tori-Tzu was to see them. I guess they knew her from before. Another nice thing is that they have a little kid, and d-o-gs and kids like to play together. We heard all this from the no-dog zone, but we waited a while before we came out. Pretty soon, things were just like before, watching TV while we were on laps and getting snuggles. Oh, it felt so good.
We are quite upset today, though, because Smudges little brother has gotten out in the cold and no one can find him. We don't know how to find him, but we are VERY good at wishing, and we are wishing that little fraNkie comes home soon. He used to be part of the wild family where Smudge used to be, so maybe he found his mom, and she will tell him to go back to Smudge.
They had a nice time with their thinking people today. He and She always like the conversations. Today they talked about bad information from TV and how to avoid it. It would have made me yawn, but They liked it a lot. Afterward, they went with another thinking guy and had things to eat. Of course, She brought some home, so I will check it out later.
For right now, I am going to have a nap in one of the places that I couldn't go While T-TZ was here. Oh ree-vwar.

Hopeful Cats
Today She got an email from one of Tori-Tzu's boys. He said he had a friend who was going to come and get the d-o-g. He may not come until it is time to watch TV, but mainly, Tori-Tzu will be in a nice, comfy place with someone who will love her. Of course, She believes that T-Tz needs a bath, but probably will explain to the new guy about the groomer.
This will be hard on Her, you know. As much as She loves us, She was getting pretty fond of Tori-Tzu, and may even cry when she goes away. But He is sorry for us, and wants us back on their laps. She knows that is right, and more fun for Tori-Tzu without cats to make her confused.
She also talked to Cleo's Mom today. It will be her birthday on Saturday, and She and Mable's Mom are going to take her along on their brunch trip Sunday. She just loves Cleo's Mom, even if there is no more Cleo.
Her Opera Girl says it is raining where she lives, and She is glad Her OG is going to stay home and be cozy. She likes when everyone is cozy. Meanwhile She is looking at pictures of Her beloved Eddie while he was running in a race to make money for poor people. What a nice person Her Eddie is.
I may sneak out and supervise the packing up of d-o-g stuff. I'll check in with you tomorrow.

Wind-Blown Cats
You will not believe the wind that blew here today! It was so windy that things were blowing over, and Tori-Tzu could hardly stand up in the back yard. Kasey and I looked out the windows, but we didn't go outside. When She went out, She saw Katy's husband, and he had a big sore on his front leg where the fur was gone and it was all red and nasty. I don't know where that kitty belongs, but he needs to see the doc!
We are very worried about our cousin, Frankie, who lives at Smudge's house. He got outside a couple of days ago, and he is still out there, with all that rain and cold and wind. Kasey and I are not thrilled with our situation these days, but at least we are warm and comfy, and get snuggles and treats.
Today She went to aother new place with Mable's Mom to check out their brunch. She told Him it was like going back to when She was a girl in high school. Oh, how She wished He could go there to see it. Maybe they have hamburgers made out of vegetables!
One of the Eddie-People who was visiting with Her OperaGirl is going home tomorrow, but in a little while OG will be going to see Their beloved Eddie. Oh, She is SO happy for that. She told Him that She wants to see Eddie some more. He said Believe. He is funny sometimes. Kibbles are calling. Poodle Tip. (Get it?)

Zone Cats
It is almost two weeks, and we are still maintaining our dignity by the use of zones. The bedroom and closet are no-dog zones. We venture out carefully, and are beginning to believe Her when She says the d-o-g won't hurt us. I have gotten a look at the little fuzz-ball, and while I still don't like her, I am not actually afraid anymore. Tori-Tzu is what She calls a small, yappy-type dog. T-TZ has a really high bark that hurts my ears. I have gone back to giving Her snuggles. I don't want Her to forget how good those snuggles feel to both of us. One new thing, is that we sometimes get snuggles from Him. It's nice.
Today was cold and rainy, and I am so glad I didn't have to go outside. Other places are still having snow, She said, and it is the first day of Spring. Tomorrow, some people are running a long way to get money for Eddie's charity. She is so proud of those people. She still can't believe Her beloved Eddie ran so far. She thinks Eddie is a hero.
She is also excited that Her OperaGirl is going to sing in a wonderful opera soon. All of Her family - cats, friends and grandchildren - make Her heart so happy that sometimes She just sings. I like when that happens. Oooops, I hear barking. Gotta go. Addy- ose.

Basketball Cats
Here's what has Him grumbling: Basketball. All His shows are taken over by basketball games. Even if She tells Him that lots of people want to see these games, He still huffs about it.She has a nice show for them to watch about some murders. They like to see shows about murders that happen far away where Her beloved Eddie lives. I used to like them, too, but now I don't get lap-time. You know why. Because of the d-o-g.
This was supposed to be a day for breathing tests, but the breathing testers called and changed their minds. She has to go on another day. Good luck with that.I'll bet you 12 kibbles that She won't go. Anyway, since She didn't have the breathing test, She went and got that haircut She has been stressing about. You would think She had found fleas in there, the way She felt about Her hair! I have to admit, She looks more like She is supposed to.
We can all be happy here, as long as we stick to our Zones, but Tori-Tzu only barks at us if we are moving. If we all sit still, like when She is having Her shower, everyone is calm. If we try to move about, T-Tz thinks we want to play. At least that is what She says. T-Tz can't do any harm anyway, because she is only as big as me. Thirsty now. TTYL.

The Cat Abides
Sometimes the d-o-g is quiet and just lies there. Sometimes she wants to bark. Sometimes we hiss at her. Sometimes we just look. But mostly, we stay in our zones. Today She went to visit Tori-Tzu's Mom at the hospital. She told him that the poor lady is having lots of problems, and is so glad her little d-o-g is safe in a loving home. He thinks it makes Her feel guilty for wanting to find a different home for her. At least T-Tz'sMom is having someone come and groom her so She doesn't have to do it.
Mable'sMom and She were supposed to go to a fancy place to eat, but M'sM had sore teeth, so they just went to a regular place and then went to see T-Tz'sMom. What She always says is be flexible. That means don't let a glitch spoil your fun. I guess She has lots of sayings. I did give her some snuggles today. I was being flexible.
The next thing She has is a test on Her lungs, which She thinks are fine. And if She doesn't get Her hair cut, She says She will look like Cousin Itt, whoever that is. It is not one of our cousins. This means She will not be home for a long time tomorrow. Everybody in her right zone! Did you hear that, Tori-Tzu? Well, no lap-sitting for me again tonigh. Poo.

Caring Cats
We are trying to be understanding about Tori-Tzu. She is lonely for her Mom, and she doesn't understand us cats, but we still have some work to do. Today I relented, and gave Her some snuggles. While She and I sat on the bed, Tori-Tzu jumped up and wanted snuggles, too. I draw the line at giving snuggles to a d-o-g. I let her sniffle me, but that is all. T-Tz may have been jealous of me, because T-Tz is always found with Her. Well. I'll keep working on it. Kasey is already venturing out into the free zone. And today, Katy was in the back when T-Tz wen out, and they kind of ignored each other.
The best part was having brunch with LW and her sibs. When She got home, She said the food was good, and the company was better. It gave her smiles all day. Imagine a little girl having a sickness twice, and winning the fight both times. That is LW. LW'sMom and She made some plans for the summer. There will be lots of visits. Well, they are cat-children, so it should be OK.
Tori-Tzu's Mom said she might be in the new hospital for a month. What She told Him was that after a month, She wouldn't want to give T-Tz back. Oh, how I hope She was joking.
Well, it's back to my no-dog-zone. Til tomorrow.

Surprised Cats
Wait til I tell you what happened. When She came in to the NoDogZone to take Her shower, She left the door open, and in comes Tori-Tzu! Kasey was on the bed, I was in my place in the closet, with the door open, and what do you think Tori-Tzu did? Nothing! That's what she did. The little fuzz-ball just lay down on the floor and waited for Her. No barks, no chases. I guess she finally figured out whose house this is!
It was not a great day for Her Crones, because She got some sad news about a sweet Crone named Ella. That was on top of hearing that Tori-Tzu'sMom went to a different hospital. And She went to the doctor Herself. What She likes is when all the Crones feel fine. Well, She wants to cheer Herself up, so She is having brunch tomorrow with LW's family, to celebrate NED! That takes that sad feeling and makes it better.
She has to go to have some tests at the doctor, and She really doesn't like that. Well, it is what Mable'sMom wants Her to do, so - maybe they will find out why She has so many glitches, and they can fix them so She could go to visit Her OperaGirl. Personally, I want Her to stay home, so fix the glitches and stay home is my advice to Her. Must go check that noise that sounded like Him putting kibbles into a dish. Toodles.

Toodles.

New Week for Cats
Well, Tori-Tzu has been here a week, and she doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Maybe we need to learn to get along. After all, WE are older and wiser, and besides, She loves the little pest, er, I mean fluff-ball. Not as much as She loves US, of course, but She told me that She would want someone to take care of Kasey and me if She and He got sick. Anyway, since He mowed the back yard, Tori-Tzu has stopped having accidents in the house. Good dog. Godd dog. (She says).
She also had kind of a bad day yesterday, so She made an appointment to see Her doc. If there is anything She doesn't like, it is feeling down in the dumps. (That means sad) She told Mable'sMom that stuff just piled up on Her. Hah! She should be US! But today the best news is that LW had her scans and is NED again! How can She feel sad after THAT!
She is also excited that Her beloved Eddie is doing shows in Canada, and OperaGirl and OZGirl are going to see him! She told Him that She used to go to Canada a lot when She lived very far away. I'm glad when She stays here. I am still not snuggling, and I need some snuggles, so I may relent after awhile. I'll let you know. Chow.

The Cat Reports
While She and Tori-Tzu are outside, I am here to make today's report. I let Her know I was serious about conditions here by not giving Her any snuggles this morning. I know it was kind of mean, but She has to know we are not interested in being friends with this d-o-g. She refuses to accept that and - well, we'll see how She feels after going snuggle-less for a couple of days.
This morning She went to have brunch at Mable'sMom's house instead of a restaurant. It was fantastic, She told Him, with fancy french toast and lots of bacon. She loves bacon.
When She came home, She talked to Tori-Tzu's Mom, who feels better today. That lifted Her spirits. She loves the little d-o-g, but She told Him She is stressed over the whole cat/d-o-g situation. T-T'sMom's boys are trying to work something out, and that will make things easier for us. Do you think we are being selfish? After all, this IS our house. Sometimes She forgets that.
She watched a scary movie with Her beloved Eddie in it. He played a bad guy, and She still thought he was cute. Honestly, sometimes I think She gets strange when She doesn't get Her snuggles! There is another part, and She says She'll watch it tomorrow.
Well, even though it seems too early, I'm going back to the dog-free zone and have a snack and a little nap. Bye-bye.

Hungry D-o-g
You will have to forgive me if I seem a little amused by this turn of events. It turns out that Tori-Tzu doesn't like her dogfood. (snerk) When They got her from her Mom's house, they also got a bunch of dry food kibbles, like Kasey and I eat. Ever since Tori has been here, she hasln't eaten any of that food. Here is what she likes to eat: What They are eating. So She tried putting people-food in the dish with the kibbles, and Tori picked out the people-food and left the kibbles. Next They are going to try giving her d-o-g food from a can. I'll let you know how that works out. I have bet Kasey seven cat treats that Tori eats spaghetti tonight!
Well, She started the day laughing and singing. I was pretty sure it meant Her OperaGirl had sent some more pictures. Then She looked at SuziGirl's pictures, and they made Her happy, too. Later, She told me how much She loves all these pictures. She tells me a lot of things when She comes in and snuggles with me in the dog-free zone. She told me She was the luckiest person in the world. I think it's because She has wonderful cats and grandchildren.
Tonight is very special, because They have to change their clocks to one hour later. When the clock says 8 AM, it will really be 7 AM, and She will be sleepy. How funny. Cheers.

Territorial Cats
We have it straight now. The bedroom is a no-dog zone - even if the door is open! Tori-Tzu can visit in other parts, but not the bedroom. Another place is His workroom. Kasey goes in there and helps Him with His work, while He is writing on His story. I am staying in the closet a lot, but I come out, and if "anydog" comes to the door, I make a mean face, and the d-o-g stays out. She stays out in the room with the TV, and Tori stays with her. Once or twice She has carried me out to the table, and I got my butter, but I don't like that. Now we have everything in zones. Mostly no-dog zones. This will work until Tori finds a new place to wait for her Mom. When She tried to call, Tori-Tzu's Mom didn't answer the phone again. When her boy comes to see her, I hope he calls Her to tell her the plans. Keep watching for news.
She has been so busy with the d-o-g that She hasn't been able to keep up with the NYC news, or to find out how LW's next sister is. That is going to change tomorrow, She says. She did watch some pictures about Her beloved Eddie when he ran all those races. She was really proud of Eddie for finishing a job that everyone thought was impossible. She likes that in a person. She calls it Determination, with a big D.
Since Her computer is not a no-dog zone, I had better get back to MY zone, before the barking starts! Toodles.

Patient Cats
Yes, we are learning to be very patient. Tori-the-d-o-g thinks we are toys or something, because when she sees us, she wants to play, but she doesn't know how to play in a cat sort of way. She barks and chases, and today she tried to get up on Her lap while I was there. I was so upset that I only had one finger of butter. One thing about our cousin Cleo, she was not hard to hide from. If we wanted to get away, we could get under something low, and Cleo couldn't get under there. Well, Tori can get under anything we can get under, so it takes more patience to avoid her. He is totally helping us, but She seems to think this d-o-g needs more love since her mom is in the hospital. Humpf.
We are all sad, too, because LW's Next Sister is feeling pew. I guess she is gacking up, and their Mom couldn't go to her school today. It makes Her especially sad, because She would love to help LW'sMom. Lucky we know how to wish, because we are wishing love and good energy to LW's Next Sister.
He is not as sad as She is, because He went to play bridge-the-game with His friends, and He hasn't heard all the news yet. Well,I have to sneak back to my closet now. I hear Tori-Tzu sniffling at the door. Chow, bellas.

Cats and Crones
One thing that always brightens Her day is when She has a meeting with Her beloved Crones. As you have been reading, things are quite peculiar around here. Tori-Tzu, the d-o-g is starting to get comfy, and Kasey and I are starting to learn to navigate around her. This morning, I got my butter, although She had to carry me in and put me on the table. It all worked out OK. Sometimes He closes the bedroom door, so we can come out of the closet and move around, eat and (ahem) use our litter box. Sometimes They leave the door open so we can venture out. When She went to meet Her Crones today, She put Tori in the little cage she came in. Tori is not unhappy in there, which is a good thing, because He came back home and didn't let Tori out. No problem, Tori has a little rug in there, and just waited until She came home. While She was out with Her Crones She got Him a nice package with vegetables from the lunch place, and He will have them for His supper. She has learned Her lesson about eating too much at the all-you-can-eat place, but She still isn't very hungry for supper. I don't care, because I won't be sharing Her supper tonight. Maybe Tori will. Oh-oh, I think I hear Tori coming this way. I'll sign off and head back to the closet. Later, Gater.

Our Cousin Tori-Tzu
This is a fine mess She's brought home our cousin, Tori-Tzu, and that is one curious little d-o-g! Tori has had to check out every single thing in this house. And her manners -- WELL! It surprised me when she chased Kasey, but she didn't chase me. She did bark at me, though. He and She say Tori just wants to play. I will give her a chance to get used to us, but it is easier to just stay in the closet. The thing is, Tori is not any bigger than my own self. Tori is not like our cousin, Cleo, who was a big d-o-g. The little pup cannot be bigger than Cleo's head! Do you know what she did? She got up on Her while She was in Her chair. And then -- and THEN she got up on the back of Her chair and lay down. Everyone knows that is my place. It is almost like having another cat. In fact, I peeked out and she was halfway under the Coffee table. I hope She tells Tori that it is not a Tori table! This is going to take some getting used to. I know Kasey and I are wishing that Tori's Mom gets better very soon. Of course we have been wishing that all along - only now we have a different reason. Today He put food and water in Their bedroom for us, so we don't have to worry that some d-o-g will eat our food. I'll tell you how it all works out tomorrow. Ahdy - ose.

Lucky Day
There were a lot of nice things today. The first thing was, He was getting one of the cars serviced, then was going on to play bridge, which is a game that needs four people to play. After He left, a guy called and said He didn't need to go. Now She had to call the car place and hope He was still there. He WAS, so He got the message in time. She was so relieved that She gave me a brushing that lasted a long time, and a lot of my hair got into the brush. Should we use this to make another cat, Coffs? She says, almost every time we have a brushing. It's kind of our little joke, now that I know She won't really do it. Next, Her bargain dress was ready, so She picked that up, and got the picture frames She needs for OperaGirls latest pictures. She looked at Eddie's show for awhile, and then wrote some notes.
Then the whole lucky day got a little sad. Tori-Tzu's Mom had her surgery today. Her Boy called and said it didn't go well, and that there will be more to do to make her get better. He sounded very worried. What a way to make a lucky day unlucky! Well, She says it could be worse, and that maybe Tori-Tzu will come here to visit us. The trouble is - Tori-Tzu is a d-o-g.
Tomorrow will be a good day, too, and there may be better news from the hospital. GoodNight.

Brunch Report
It looks as if She and Mable'sMom are trying a new restaurant every week to have their brunch. It is a mission, She says, to try all the wonderful places that have different styles. Today, they went to a place where the food was South African. I don't know what that means, but She said it was very good. She brought some home, and if there is sausage - and I think there is - I will help her decide if we like it. She told Him that the sausage they had would knock His socks off - if He ate something besides vegetables. Ooops, She said. I guess you can keep your socks on. Here is a funny word. Peppadew. That's the name of the little red pepper that came with the brunch. I think She would go back just for that peppadew, the way She talked about it. Because He only eats vegetables, He doesn't go along on the mission. She stays on the lookout for places that have good vegetables, and so far, She hasn't found one that He would like. She told Him that there was a Mongolian one that says they have good vegetables. These restaurants have some funny words!
Meanwhile, back in New York, Her beloved Eddie-girls are having such a nice time. They send pictures to Her and She sends her love to them. They all stay with Her OperaGirl. She sent them bees. It's an Eddie-thing, I guess., because it made Her laugh. Must search for that sausage, now. TaTa

Cats at Work
It looked as if She did not want to get up this morning, and of course, I had to help. It's my job. So I jumped up on Her and told Her to get up, because She had cats to play with, and butter to dispense, and the occasional skritch to administer. Rise and shine! (Whatever that means). She felt more like playing when She had Her coffee-the-drink. You see, She had stayed up quite late to watch a show, and She wan not enjoying it very much. I had given Her a dozen snuggles to cheer Her up while She watched. She said She loved the snuggles, but the show was kind of ho-hum. But that's all over now, and tonight They have a good show to watch while they have their spaghetti.
Do you want to hear something funny? She bought a dress on the computer, and when all was said and done, the dress cost Her $15! It was a real bargain. When She put it on, it was way too long. It was on the floor! So She had to take it to a lady who would make it shorter. It would cost Her $15 more dollars to put a hem in Her new dress. Kasey and I had to laugh at that! Then She found out that Smudge'sMom would have done it for free! Kasey and I were rolling on the floor, laughing at that. Of course, it did not affect our kibbles. If it had taken kibble-money, we would not have thought it was funny! I'll check back with you tomorrow. Oh Reevwar.

Abundance Cats
Today He went to play Bridge, and She did some odds and ends. That is what She calls it - odds and ends - when She does a little bit here and there, but doesn't start a project. It is a good thing She went to the store early, because the mail came and She got a marvelous package. It seems as if Her OperaGirl has sent her copies of Her beloved Eddie's shows. She was scared for a minute, because she thought they played on the TV, but instead, they play on the computer. Well, there we sat, seeing the show that Eddie gave in London, which is VERY far away. It is where Eddie lives when he is not here where we live. OperaGirl also sent some pictures that she took when they were all together - Smudge'sMom, OperaGirl, ViolinGirl , Lizard, Candis, OdessaGirl, Monkey and Her. The pictures are very beautiful, because OperaGirl takes good pictures. When She gets the right frames, She will hang them on the wall with the others. He says Her office looks like an Eddie Museum!
Tori-Tzu's Mom did not have to go to the hospital today, but on Monday she will go for a big operation. We are standing by, waiting for good news.
Katy's Husband is at the door. I guess he wants some more kibbles. She will take them out to him, and Kasey and I will stand guard so he doesn't try to come in. Nighty night, all.

Believe Cats
Yesterday was not a good day for us, exactly. There was a glitch in her meeting with Smudge'sMom, which worked out to be OK. He and She got some cupcakes out of that, which They both love. Kasey and I don't like them that much except the frosting. Then She went to a big hospital to help Tori-Tzu's Mom, and that turned into a really long day. She told Him that it was a long day of doing nothing, and being upset about it. T-T's mom's boy came to finish waiting, so She could come home. I'll tell you the truth, I was kind of annoyed, because I like Her to be home for snuggles, and to see what is for supper. She said She had to walk and get out of breath! It was late when She got home and She was about to be grumpy, when She got Her surprise. Mazie had sent Her a birthday present that came a bit late, but it was a program about Her beloved Eddie! She was mostly tickled because Her Mazie knew She would love it. A lot of people don't get Her love for Eddie. Well, He does, and now She knows Mazie does. And Smudge's Mom does, too. And of course, OperaGirl and Her Eddie people. After they see this program, She says, everyone might understand a little better. So today we watched Eddie, and didn't get all out of breath. She did cry a little, but it ended up OK. Mostly, today is good. More tomorrow. Toodles.

Responsible Cats
When people pick their leaders, they don't do it like cats. It doesn't matter who is biggest, or who has the best claws and meanest face. They do it by voting. So today She went to vote. He did, too, at a different time. There are a lot of people saying they would be the best leader, and you have to learn about each one, then go to a machine and tell it whom you picked. Although that seems like a lot of work, I guess it is fair, or only the biggest toughest guys would get to be leader. She says not enough people take the time to decide who their leader should be. He and She shake their heads and say what a waste. Regular people get a chance to choose, and then the ones who don't even bother squeak about the choice. If we were people, Kasey and I would vote, because we are responsible cats. Of course, Kasey would probably pick the wrong guy!
Tomorrow She has two things to do. She will visit with Smudge's Mom in the morning, then in the afternoon She will go and help Tori-Tzu'sMom with her doctor. She is glad about both those things, although She wishes T-T'sMom wasn't so sick.
She is also waiting for a package that has something about Her beloved Eddie. She can't wait. She always says She can't wait, but then She does. People can be so silly. Time for a snooze.
NightyNight.

What She Said
Here is what She told me about my stories - No one sees your stories, Coffs. Why do you keep writing them? I am telling you, the day She found out I was writing stories was a sad day!If there is anything I would have promised you about Her, it is that She is an encourager. Now, not so much. because She thinks I should stop taking up the computer with my stories! I happen to know that people all over the world read my stories. Oh, sure. There are more famous people than me writing stories. I have a clever cousin that writes from time to time. I don't think She knows how much people depend on my stories, because She doesn't realize how Kasey and I help people understand what is going on in the cat-world. Well, She has not discouraged me. I will still sneak in here and write!
How else would you get the good news that Tori-tzu's Mom has made friends with her daughter after a long time. You wouldn't know that Her beloved Eddie is hosting an awards show one night, and that He got the TV people to send those channels. People would get anxious if they didn't know how ViolinGirl did on her audition! We know she will do fine and knock their socks off, but how would YOU know? I would give Her a stern talking to, but it would go right over Her head! Let me check on where She is now. Bye, until tomorrow!
