Satisfactory Cats

The morning bagel was actually toast again today. Kasey and I can't wait until She gets Her teeth back. Anyway, this toast did not have red berries in it. It had black berries and tasted a little like her bagel. She knows that Smudge's M likes this kind of bread. It is not polite to be too fussy, but the butter today was delicious. Much better than the red-berry kind. So I decided that this was satisfactory, and had some extra fingers of butter.
Since She was feeling pretty chipper today, She decided to go shopping for a Meal Deal. She says there is a store where you buy one thing and they give you a bunch of stuff free. This store is a bit farther than the others, so She has to feel chipper if She wants to go there. The favorite thing in the world for Her is to get free stuff! Well, that and getting presents for Her kids. And Him. And us. And Her Crones. And Her beloved Eddie. Well, I guess She has a lot of favorite stuff. But free stuff is riight up there.
Speaking of presents, two boxes came from delivery guys today. Guess what was in both of the boxes? Free stuff! I call this a satisfactory day, don't you?
I think I'll go get some extra pets while She still feels chipper. chow.

She is Smiling

OK, there is a lot of smiling going on around here, and She is singing and dancing - sort of - as much as an old lady with a cane can dance. Except that LW's freezer go left open, which is a sad thing, everything else has Her chuffed. Her timing, for example, was perfect this morning. Since She forgot to get Her testing from the doc yesterday, She had to go in today. That meant She could not eat before She left, so She made her plan to get Her teeth fixed. We may have to go easy on the kibbles, Coffs, She said to me. But She surely was joking. At least Kasey and I hope so. Then, after the testing, She went to meet Deena'sMom where they like to eat, and they both got there at the same time. This is what made Her so very happy, besides seeing Her beloved Deena'sMom. Deena'sGirl is coming from where she lives far away, and she will be here in eight days! Oh, how She will love to see that darling girl and her babies!
They got so much food for their lunch that they could take some home, and here is what is funny - Deena'sMom and She traded their takehome food by accident. So She is eating Deena'sMom's extra food, and D'sM is eating Hers! This has been a happy day. I think I will dance a little bit, too. Oddy-ose.

Clean-Screen Cats

Can you see my story even better today? It should be very clear, and here's why: This morning, LW sent two dogs over here to clean our screen. They were big dogs, but I wasn't afraid, because their big, slurpy tongues couldn't reach me. They did a beautiful job on the screen, though, didn't they? Wasn't it nice of LW to do that for me? She is a true friend to us, and a precious angel to Them. Can you believe this - She was right in the room when LW was born!
I am laughing at Her, though. She went to the doc this morning and was supposed to go to the lab to get more examining, and she simply forgot. She got off the elevator and just went home. Well, She will try again tomorrow morning. She won't eat anything (again) and go to the lab before She goes for lunch with Deena's Mom. Warning: She will be hungry!
I feel kind of sorry for Her, because She also went to the dentist today, and found out She has to have a bunch of tooth work done. Her teeth don't hurt Her, but they keep falling out, so She doesn't chew Her food right. So, if they fix Her teeth so that She can get some fake teeth put in, She will feel better, but She is moping about how much it will cost. She said Maybe I can sell a couple of expensive cats. I am sure She was joking, don't you think? If She sold us, where would She get snuggles and massages, and compliments about Her fixed teeth? Meanwhile, I'll be very cute, and tell Kasey to do the same, so She can't live without us! TTYL

The Thinkers

You may have guessed it: Today was the day for Their Thinking Group, and He and She enjoyed it especially much today. They had a few minutes to talk about Tori-Tzu'sMom, and how much they would miss her, because she was important in thinking. T-Tz'sMom would have loved it today, because there was a lot of talk about money, and she liked to talk about money. It was her specialty. You would thhink that made it a sad meeting, but it wasn't. It was a thinking day. All the people there really like thinking, and they are smart and fun. They didn't have time to go and eat breakfast together, because They had to get home. Maybe next time.
Kasey and I were glad they came home, though, because there were two big boxes at the door. I told you this would happen, when the catalogs came. She loves to get things out of catalogs. LW and all her sibs have birthdays soon, and that is all She needs to hear for Her to buy stuff. Some of the stuff is serious, and some is funny. He laughed at what She got for Cleo's Dad, and his birthday is not for awhile. There were presents that were books, too, and She said Coffs, do you think it would be rude if I looked at these books before I gave them away as presents? I hated to do it, but I told Her it would be very rude. She just petted me and put the books and other stuff away. Getting presents for people is one of Her favorite things. I have to go climb in the boxes to see if there is a present for Cats in there. G'bye.

Up-and-Down Cats

Some days go along being all nice and good-feeling, and some days are bummer-days. Today was a little of each. Here is the good stuff. This is an exciting week with lots on the calendar. She is very ready for a week like that. There is a day with the thinking people, and a day with her beloved friend, Deena'sMom. There is an evening with Her beloved Crones, so those are pretty *up* things. But there is also news that Smudge'sMom is hurting with a terrible virus, and it makes Her hurt out of sympathy. Once She had that virus, and it was no picnic. That means She knows how bad it is. Poor Smudge'sMom.
One day, She will have to go back and see the doc, to check on how She is feeling. She and I are a little mad about how She can't have breakfast that day. She says She is fine, but the Doc makes Her come to get checked before She gets Her pills. She is afraid that if She doesn't have Her pills, She will get grumpy, and She does not like being grumpy at all!
Well, it is up and down today, but it will get better. Her OperaGirl and Her OzGirl are going to see a movie with Eddie in it, and they will tell Her all about it. Coffs, She said to me, Let's make tomorrow an all-up day. I will try very hard for that. Oh-Reev-wahr.

Wondering Cats

This is what makes me wonder - Today She broke Her own rule and went to the store. She almost never goes on a Sunday, because people who work all during the week need to shop without crowds of people who could go anytime, like Her. Kasey and I wondered what She needed that was important enough to break Her own rule. Kasey thought it might be cat treats. I suspected it was butter. Those are two things we never should be without. Well, She put something in the freezer, and something in the cabinets. Hmmm. I wonder...
She was very bummed about a program we watched. It was about kids who get bullied in school. She got Him to come and watch with Her. I think Kasey is kind of a bully, but she is a sweetheart compared to some of these bullies on the show. They are people who pick on someone for no good reason. When She was a teacher, She would not stand for her students to be unkind to each other. They were 7th aqnd 8th graders. She diiscouraged them from saying certain things. It wasn't easy at first, but after awhile the kids knew about respect and self-respect. She has told us stories about those days. I think She misses teaching children. Well, She has grandchildren now, and She can't help teaching things to them, whether they like it or not. (snerk) I must go investigate what was in those two bags. Good Sunday Night.

Contented Cats

You already know that Saturday is a special day around here. It is the day She fixes spaghetti. It is the day His favorite program is on. It is a day when they watch a movie together. It is a contented day. Kasey and I both curled up on the couch for a snooze, which makes Her tell Him Look at them. They are finally acting like friends. He nods and agrees with Her, but He knows that one wrong move and one of us will get biffed.
Last week, She sent Her beloved Mazie a cute little skirt and top. Today They got a thank you from Mazie, with drawings and a darling note. They will see Mazie in a few weeks, and She is chuffed about that. She forgot that there is one more graduation, and needs to get another card. She asked me to help Her remember that, so I push the cards She already has and knock them on the floor. That way, cards are on Her mind.
Today She asked me if I thought anyone reads my stories. There used to be a lot of people who wondered about what goes on at our house. Whoever is still reading, don't worry. I will still write a story almost every day, because I have to set a good example for my cousins all over the place. What would they do if they didn't hear from me! I don't want to think about it. I only got a little taste of the spaghetti, so I will have a snack now. Good night.

Wake-Up Cats

This seems to be happening a lot lately. I need to wake Her up in the mornings. He gets up early and feeds the birds, gets the paper, gives Kasey some treats, and goes back to bed. During all this, She has been sleeping away in dreamland. At least that's what She says. Well, I guess I should let Her sleep. After all, sometimes She wakes up in the night and I have to give Her a massage so She can go back to sleep. But there is such a thing as being responsible for giving butter to one's cat, and the poor cat should not have to wait too long for it. I'm sure you understand. She stays up late at night, even though I tell Her to go to bed. I can see this problem needs work, and you can be sure I will see to it that She rises and shines at a reasonable time.
One cousin we have is named Lola, and she lives far away. Well, Lola went checking on what some guy was doing. It turns out he was painting the walls next door, and in her checking, she got paint on her tail. Well, her Mom had to get it off before Lola licked it, because it might make her sick. Lola'sMom had to work SO hard to get that paint off, but she finally did. We were all relieved. We will have to wait and see if Lola learned anything from this. She is just a little cat, with things to learn. Lola lives close to our cousins Nick and Lion. I know She would love to go see them all. I feel like running around and chasing Kasey now, so ToodlePip.

Lovey Cats

For some reason, I wanted a lot of snuggles today, and spent a great deal of time on Her lap and chest. I lie on Her arm and put my head on Her chest, then reach my paws out to touch Her face. It makes Her laugh, and She says why does Coffee do that? to Him, and He doesn't have an answer. Well, Here is why. It shows how much I love Her. Kasey even got on Her desk and didn't want treats. Could it be that Kasey felt lovey today, too? Maybe because it is Earth Day, and They do a lot to help the Earth.
Her OperaGirl has a job where she works all night and goes home in the morning. It sounds like a nice way to still have time for singing and seeing friends. But She worries. Of course, She worries about all Her grandchildren. LW's next sister has sore ears, and that makes Her feel sad. She worries about Her beloved Eddie, far away where there is a nasty cloud in the air. She wishes She could see Her Mazie, but not for another month. One thing She has learned is how to worry and still get things done. Between all our snuggles and all His sweet help, She still thinks She is the luckiest person there is. She has two shows on tonight that She likes to watch, so that cheers Her up. I mustn't stay here too long, because both of us need snuggles today. Toodles.

Shocked Cats

For every day for many years, what She has for breakfast is a bagel. Before I came here, She had a bagelo and gave Her butter to our last cousin Charlotte, who never came home from the vet. Then, every day until Kasey and I came to live here, She had a bagel. Everyone KNOWS She starts off with a bagel. Prepare for a shock: Today She ate toast with red berries in it and some kind of green nuts I have never seen before. He said do you need bagels? Are you out? She told Him She thought She would try something else for a change. I was so upset that I only had one finger of butter from the new bread. She said mmmm-good. I guess that means that bagel days are over. He said even when They were in England, They bought bagels at a fancy store and brought them back to the hotel! He just shakes His head. Let me tell you, if She ever says She doesn't want coffee, I am going back to the esspeeceeay!
Top of Her to-do list was getting a new sticker for Her car. You have to get a new one every year. But She couldn't stay away too long, because LW'sMom was having a kind of big thing at her seminary school, and She wanted to hear about it. She told Him it would be wonderful. They both love LW'sMom and LWand her sibs. He even made a picture for LW'sMom. I hope She likes it!
I am too shocked to have a nap. I think I will stalk Kasey. Oddy-ose.

Repeat Cats

Everything on TV is a repeat, so She hasn't been watching so much. What is new is basketball. There is basketball on where She like to watch Her shows, and She is not interested in basketball. Look how tall they are, and look how short I am. What does basketball have for me? She told me a story about when She was teaching a long, long time ago. She had to teach Her class stuff in the gym. That's a room where they play basketball. She told the boys and girls that She had never made a basket in Her life, and here She was, all grown up and trying to teach them how to play games. Well, She said that the whole class stayed after school and played basketball with Her until She made a basket. Now, they told Her, you don't have to say you never made a basket! That was a nice story, because it made her smile and get all misty.
Another thing that made Her smile today was Katy'sMom. She came to our houuse with her little dog, and she brought Her a big bunch of food. Katy'sMom says she bought too much, but She said She believed it was just because Katy's Mom is a sweetheart, and wanted Him and Her to have some nice stuff to eat. So even if there were repeats, She had a lot of things to make Her happy today. I'm a little bit tired or repeats, too, so I think I'll just have a nap. TTYL

Scrabble Cats

Scrabble is a game She likes to play where you make up words. They have to be real words. Her beloved Eddie said it isn't fair to people who can't spell, and She says that's right, but it could help with spelling. I think She likes to believe that you can learn things by having fun. You can learn things by experience, like I told you about before, but that is a hit or miss way to learn, She told me. Anyway, She and Smudge's Mom played Scrabble and drank tea and ate cake, and it was such a nice time that She didn't even mind that Smudge's Mom won the game. They seem to have good times together. We like that.
A lady came over to talk to Them about His mother. His mother is very old, and cannot think very well, so the lady is going to help her and see if they can make her comfy while she keeps getting older and thinking worse. It was a relief to Him to have someone who would check on her every day. What She says is only the good die young.
Poor OperaGirl has to work very hard and then go and practice her singing. I think She wants to win the Lotto so none of Her friends had to worry about money, and OG could just sing. So I will send a yow-out to all our cousins, and go watch TV with Her. ByeBye.

Quiet Cats

This was a surprise. Today She did not go on Her brunch date with Mable's Mom. What happened? I guess She has eaten too much food, and has a gurgly tummy. Well, we had our bagel and butter, and She just knew that was enough. I had to wake Her up, anyway, because She didn't rise and shine, so I gave Her some encouraging massages. A cat can only go so long without his butter, you know. So we had a quiet day, just computering and reading, and getting a bag of stuff for the poor people. They will pick it up tomorrow. She filled a big bag with stuff She doesn't wear, and you can't even see where they come out of Her closet.
Another thing She did today was to get a bunch of stuff from catalogs. The next couple of months are big birthday months, so She got a little bit ahead. She says He and She have to cut back on all the presents. Of course it would save money, but the main thing is that everyone has too much stuff. She told me that after She filled the big bag with stuff from Her closet. She has three graduations, as well. Mazie's youngest brother, Mable's Boy and Cleo's Girl. People are just growing up and moving on, She says. But mainly it was a quiet day, so I am ready for some stalking and chasing. PoodleTip. (Get it?)

Who Cats

This is what has Him very happy today - Doctor Who. It is a program that tells about some guy who travels around in space solving problems. That's what I make of it anyway. So a new bunch of programs are starting and He is chuffed. Most of the time, they are showing all the old shows, and starting the new ones tonight. Add to that that this is spaghetti night, and we have a very happy Him. Of course, She is glad that He is happy, but She is not that interested in Doctor Who. What She says is that Her imagination gets a cramp in it, trying to follow the adventures. I believe that is just a saying, because She laughs when She says it, and a cramp is not funny. She keeps Herself busy with Her catalogs and lets him enjoy His programs to His heart's content. That means all He wants.
She was looking at pictures that Her OperaGirl took when she and OzGirl went to see a show. It is like a window on a young, exciting life, She told me. She also saw a picture of our Cousin Ollie. She thinks Ollie's Dad is very clever and funny. I think Ollie looks better than Kasey.
Some of Her friends are stuck, because the airplanes are not flying. A volcano blew up and made a cloud with tiny pieces of glass in it, and that would make an airplane fall down, maybe. She says it is for their own good if people can't fly on airplanes, even though it makes them mad. I am starting to yawn, now. That means a nap is calling. TaTa.

Cats and Children

I guess that when you are old as She is, you see everyone as your children and grandchildren. She says She would like to smooth everything for the next people coming along. We had a long talk about that today. Of course, Kasey and I are her fur-children, and She sees us every day. I had to tell Her that making everything smooth for everyone is not a good idea. First of all, I have learned a lot from my troubles. I learned that you may think your life is going fine, then you end up at the esspeeceeay, scared and lonesome, but then someone comes to get you, and you are just fine. Even better than before. Kasey and I like it here better than our old homes, so we learned to enjoy what we have, for as long as it lasts. So She said She wishes Her children and grandchildren didn't worry about money. but worrying about money is what makes you smart about what is worth having. You are right, Coffs, She said to me. The important thing is now. I told Her her children and grandchildren just need to know they are very dearly loved, just like Her fur-children. It makes up for a lot of life's hairballs! She says Her beloved Grandma used to say Enough is as good as a feast. Maybe She should just tell Her children and grandchildren that. I'll suggest it to Her. This story has been so serious that it made me thirsty. Time for a trip to the water bowl. Chow.

At Our House

Here's what is going on at our house these days. Every day, She says We have to do something about all this clutter. Mostly we don't do anything about it. Lots of days She sorts out things, and doesn't do anything about them. Now, all this is fine with me. I am a busy cat, having to stalk things, chase Kasey, have snuggles and get several naps. In the mornings I have to yow a lot, so She will hurry and get me my butter. Either She or I have to use the computer, so you can see that I work much harder than anyone else around here. Sometimes She says to Him We have to fix these shelves, or move these things. He usually gets the things done, because He doesn't watch TV or play computer stuff as much as She does. When there is something to do, or someplace to go and those things involve Her friends, She is always up for that. Sometimes She goes to schools and helps people with their children. She loves doing that. Sometimes Her heart is sad, like when Her halfway-around-the-world friends didn't call her, but mostly She is cheerful and says You have a choice. I choose to be cheerful. It helps Her be cheerful to think about all our cousins and their people. She tells me that I help Her be cheerful, and so does Her beloved Eddie. When people say Why do you love Eddie, She says Eddie is a grandson to me. I just feel it. And everyone loves their grandchildren. She has lots of grandchildren, and they always make Her cheerful. Oh, Coffs, She says, I am so lucky. Then I usually get skritches or a snuggle. I'll check on Her now. So long for now.

Wednesday Cats

On two Wednesdays each month, She is very happy about seeing Her Crones. I have told you about them before. These are the Wise Women that She loves, and She believes that seeing them gives her a vacation from cares. Cleo's Mom looked pretty with her new haircut, and She told Smudge's Mom that She would go to her house for tea and bring back her cheesecake pan. Also on Wednesdays is when She puts 27 things in a bag to give to the poor people, or to put in the trash. Look, Coffs, She says to me. 27 things and it didn't even make a dent. Personally, I think this is a nice place to live. Cluttered, but nice. Plenty of comfy places for cats to lie on. And no one worries about the cat fur.
Since Her OperaGirl goes to work every night, She wants her to sleep, so She doesn't bother OG. But She wonders how the practice is going for the new opera, which is lovely singing, if you didn't know. One day She will hear Her OG in one of the operas. In just about two weekis, Her OperaGirl and Her OzGirl are going to see their beloved Eddie, She is chuffed, because they will tell Her about it and send pictures!
She is also excited for LW. LW is going to school next time school starts. It made Her cry when LW'sMom told about it, but it was happy crying. You know the kind. It is just hard to believe.
I hear a noise, and I think it is Katy's husband meowing for a snack. I'll go see. TTYL

Hiding Cats

Today was all about His mother. She is doing His mother's taxes, and all of the papers aren't there. She says that His m. probably hid them, and if She doesn't finish soon, there will be a fine. I believe that means that They will have to pay money. Oh, She doesn't want that to happen. She used her skills to figure out what to say on the computer, and in the end, it came out OK. What She told Him is, at least it will take awhile for ther tax guys to figure out that it was, well, just about right.
Did you think that would be all about His mothr? This is why we have been hiding all day. His mother is in the hospital, and she won't let them do the tests to see if she can go back to where she lives. The hospital has called Him about twenty times. When He was just getting ready to go to His meeting, they said come and get her. He said for them to call where she lives to bring her back. They said they couldn't do it. Now, keep in mind, She doesn't yell very often, but She was telling them what about people like Me that don't have a son to fetch them about? Things are quieter now, because the hospital says they will keep her one more night, and He can get her tomorrow. She was really mad! Do any of you know what a harpy is?
Time to come out of hiding for a drink of water and a snooze. Bye.

Normal Cats

Every time She calls us *normal* cats, She just laughs. What is normal, She says. I wonder how we can both be normal, when Kasey is so rude and unappreciative, and I am such a snuggle-bug and purr-factory. She says it is normal for Kasey to act stuck-up and non-purring, and it is normal for me to snuggle and purr. If Kasey started snuggling and purring, it would not be normal for her, and She would have to take her to the doc. It has not been normal for Her to be sad and solemn, so today She took a deep breath and got happy again. She has learned that a nice lady is going to care for Tori-Tzu forever, and it really cheered Her up. There are loose ends that T-Tz'sMom'sboys have to take care of, and right now, they are busy with that. They will get all their mother's things after awhile.
Another thing that is normal for this time of year is people are sniffling and sneezing. They are not sick. It is from the yellow stuff that comes off the trees. It makes His ears swell up, which makes him sleepy. Well, He will feel better at dinner time. Do you remember what She is fixing? Yes! His beloved spaghetti, at last. The normal thing is to have it on Saturday, so this is not normal, but still good. I'm ready for a snack, how about you? Toodles.

Solemn Cats

We were kind of quiet and solemn This morning. We read the paper and had our bagel with butter. She had to go to Tori-Tzu'sMom's funeral. It was a long ride, but She had Mable'sMom and Ringo'sMom to keep Her company. We did not chase around or make a lot of noise before She left, because we could tell it was that kind of day. No, She wan't so sad, but She was just serious.
She said it was a solemn day.
A lot of His and Her friends were at the funeral. That is where people remember the person who is not here anymore. Some people say nice things, like they did at Her birthday, but is it mainly for the family to feel better. She said some things, because T-Tz'sMom was a beloved Crone, so She told about that. She likes to talk to people.
Here is the bad part, though - She didn't get home in time to make spaghetti, after They left it for today. It made Her feel bad for Him, but He said never mind, we can have it tomorrow.
She had to drive a lot, but She loved seeing Her friends, and She was glad to say nice things to the family, and She did have some noodle kugel that Cleo's Mom made. For Kasey and me, we are glad to have Her home. I think I'll go do snuggle-duty. Oh-revwar.

Winner Cats

What did I tell you!?! She is being Her old self today. At least She is not grumpy, which is a relief to all of us! She worked on Her exercises, but She gets knackered just doing the warm-ups. It is a video about walking, and they tell Her that if She does these exercises for 14 minutes, it will be as if She walked a mile. Before She starts, there is a five-minute warm-up, and after five minutes, She can't walk any more. That is fine with me, because I can get on Her lap and have a snooze while She rests up watching TV. Anyway, She says five minutes is more than She usually dooes. That is kind of a joke. I'm glad She is joking again - and I have won two extra fingers of butter!
He has gone to another meeting with the writing people. This time there will be people who want to know about the book plans so that they can publish them, maybe. If you ask me, that ninja story is really good. I can't wait to see what they say about it.
This is spaghetti night, but She doesn't know when He will be home, so She isn't fixing it yet. Every week She says are you tired of spaghetti, and He says no, He isn't. That is good, because they both eat the same dinner, which She fixes. Just like the old days, before He only eats vegetables. Let's not think about tomorrow, Coffster, She says. Let's be chipper today. That makes me feel chuffed. Now, I have to stalk some paper that fell on thhe floor. Later, Gator.

Bummed Cats

If you were to meet Her today, for the first time, you would say, What a grumpy old lady. I think all the funeral stuff has finally made her bummed. When I tried to cheer Her up by getting a good brushing, She said, Don't worry, Coffs. I will be fine tomorrow. I guess everyone deserves a day to be bummed. don't you? It means that She was not singing today, just making plans. She finally took my advice and watched a little Eddie, and I heard Her laughing,
As for Him, He went to a meeting to see people about His ninja story. He wrote a one-page presentation to take, and She read it to me. I have to admit - I can't wait to see what happens in the story next.
Oh oh - She's getting Her car keys. She says She is going to get a coffee frappe. I don't know what that is, but if it says coffee, She will like it. At least She didn't turn the computer off before She left!
I'll bet you two fingers of butter that She is cheerful again tomorrow, and people will say, What s nice old lady!

Grateful Cats

Kasey and I are very grateful that He and She are doing OK. We learned that Tori-Tzu's Mom is not going to wake up any more. I don't like the way She acts when She gets news like that. She sort of goes into about one-half of what She is like usually. She had to tell people the sad news, and It made her sad every time She had to tell it. Here is what put Her back to usual. T'Tz'aMom's boy called from where he lives kind of far from here, and needed some help. It is the cure for feeling helpless, She said. I can help! So He and She went To the hospital and got all T-Tz'sMom's stuff and brought it here. Katy's Mom helped them get it all inside. She had to make space for the stuff, because there was a lot of it. So being busy and helping - that makes things sort of OK again.
One day She wrote a story about LW's Mom and put it in a contest. Today She learned that LW's Mom is one the the maybe winners. She is chuffed about that. And Her OperaGirl went to work at her new job, and She is excited for OG! As long as she gets to sing in the Opera, and gets to see Her beloved Eddie, She is happy for OperaGirl getting an interesting way to make some money. She thinks OperaGirl is very clever and does not waste her money. She likes that in a person. I am going to spend lots of time on laps this evening, because the laps are there for us! Be grateful, everybody.

Puzzled Cats

Today started out kind of regular, but pretty soon She started getting calls and emails about Tori-Tzu's Mom. On Saturday, She believed that it would be T-TZ'sMoms last day. Well, here it is lots of days later, and Tori-Tzu'sMom is still in her special sleep. In one way, She is glad Her friend is not gone, but in another way, She wonders if Her friend is still suffering, just not awake. It is a puzzle, alright. Some of Her friends wonder if they should go to see T-Tz'sMom, but they agree that it would be very strange to watch her sleep. Let's remember her the way she was before she got so sick, She says.
Another puzzle is about His mother. She is still alive, but doesn't like any day that she lives. His mother doesn't know how to think anymore, but she remembers how to say how unhappy she is. That lady is WAY older than T-Tz'sMom, and she makes Him feel bad at least once a day. On the other hand, He really enjoyed talks with T-Tz'sMom. It's another puzzle, there, who stays and who doesn't.
Well, She will try doing some exercise, so She can stay with Kasey and me and Him for a long time. I will go and exercise with Her for awhile. TaTa.

Cats Marking Time

This has been the kind of day when we did regular things. Nothing was an adventure today, because it was one of those days where He and She mostly wondered about things. For example, She went to the store to re-stock the medicine cabinet and get new pills for Her bones. He mainly worked on His story about the ninjas, so He could take the new pages to His group. She told me they critique his pages. It's a funny word, but whatever they do, it helps Him with His story. I believe that She will really celebrate when that story is done. But for today, just regular things - and waiting for news about Tori-Tzu's Mom. Her boy says there is no change, so we will wait and see. I am beginning to notice that there are a lot of things that we wait and see about.
Even if it was not an adventure for us, some of our friends had some new things. LW's Mom is working so very hard on the work she needs to do to be a minister. She is very smart, and has a lot to do besides minister work. She has to care for LW and her sibs. And She is excited for Her OperaGirl. She is going to work at a new job, and besides that, she is getting ready to sing in a new opera. All these busy friends make a regular day an adventure day in a way, too. Do you know what would cheer Her up? Well, snuggles, of course - but also news about Her Eddie. I have a feeling there will be a DVD tonight! Well, I'll do lap duty. chow.

Blue Monday Cats

We are very sad around here today. She calls it Blue Monday, because we just heard that Tori-Tzu'sMom is in a really special sleep, and may not wake up. We feel a special connection to this Mom, because her little d-o-g was visiting with us for a long time. Tori-Tzu was not our favorite visitor, but now we are glad that she is with a nice family. I hope she gets to stay there. T-Tz has had enough puzzles going from there to here to there.
What is making Her even more sad is that Tori-Tzu's Mom is younger than She, and it makes Her think about not waking up. I have had to give Her extra snuggles, to tell Her that She will be just fine. I just hate to see Her so sad, and so does He. He keeps saying there there to Her and She thanks Him for that. Do you know what makes Her feel better? Well, snuggles, for one thing, but also thinking about Her grandchildren. The ones close by, the ones far away, and the ones even farther than that. She wonders what people do who don't have special people to love. Even though She is terribly sad, She still says She is lucky.
There were a lot of catalogs in the mail today. I have a feeling that She will be buying some new things. I heard Her tell Him that there were sales in these catalogs. She loves sales. Well, I love kibbles, so I will go have a snack now, then go back on snuggle duty. Oddy-ose.

Holiday Cats

To some people, today was a special holiday, but not to Him and Her. They celebrate lots of things, like the start of Spring and the flowers and the birds nest in our elm tree. They think that it is nice if other people want to celebrate it, though. What She says is that if people are celebrating, they are happy, and happy people don't fight.
Because of this special day, She thought it wouldn't be a good idea to go on their special brunch visit. The places to eat might be full of people who celebrate the holiday, so She and Mable'sMom had their own brunch. M'sM got special biscuits called scones (I heard Her tell Him) and she made some creamy stuff to put on them. NomNomNom is what She said. What She brought was some fresh fruit in a nice bowl. It even looked good to me, and I don't especially like fruit. That's OK, Coffs, She said. Neither does LW'sMom, and you know We love her.
So She had a nice day, and so did He. Kasey and I should have a lot of fun watching TV with Them tonight.
I hope you people who read my stories had a nice day, too. Happy Spring!

Other Cats

Today I am thinking about my cousins who live all over the place. One cousin, Smudge, I have told you about. He is my cat cousin who lives close to me. Smudge has a brother named fraNkie, and an old auntie named Trixie. You would love Smudge. Sometimes he writes a blog, when hisMom leaves the computer on. fraNkie has two sisters named Tabitha and Sookie, and they live at LW's house. Of course Katy-next-door lives even closer, and so does her husband. I think Katy's husband thinks he lives here. They give him food and pets every day. I have 2 cousins that live far away with Her Mazie. Their names are Clack and Black Kitty. Even farther away are my cousins Nick and Lion. They live at Her OperaGirl's house, and they are very smart and handsome. My farthest-away cousin is a cat named Ollie. He does funny things that make his humans laugh, and when She reads about him, She laughs, too. He is young, and I am trying to teach him thngs that will make him as smart as me. Of course, you know about Kasey. She is not my cousin, she is my sister, but she is not at all like me. I am a snuggle-bug and a purr-factory, and Kasey is - well - quiet and not snuggly at all. I love having this big family. We are all safe and comfy, which is how you want cats to be. She wants to watch a program, so I'll go sit on Her lap. Have a nice sleep.

Sleepy Cats

First of all, He washed Kasey's beloved blue blanket, and she has not gotten off of it all day! She loves her blue blanket, As you can see from the picture at the end. When Tori-Tzu was here, I sometimes got on Kasey's blanket, and it kind of bothered her. Kasey would not get on it. So He washed it - and the rest is history. I, myself, have been sleeping on the big table, where our water is. Except for a nice snuggle, I have been snoozing a lot today, as well. They don't care. They were busy with regular stuff.
One thing She did was go to the store for the basics. That's what she calls the stuff that fills up the freezer and refrig for the month. Do you remember those papers I helped Her with? She took those to the store, and they paid for lots of Her food. She was chuffed. One bunch of food She got was for making gumbo. It is made of rice and beans and vegetables Lots of vegetables. He loved having that. You are suposed to put meat in it, but you know about Him - no meat. So She put some meat in Her bowl, so both of them were happy. I had a little taste myself, and it is better with meat. So now I have to write my story before She comes to turn off the computer. She will wait until tomorrow to check on Her OperaGirl and Tori-Tzu's Mom.
Well, I'm not so sleepy rightnow, so I think I'll go and chase Kasey off the blanket. (snerk)

April Fool Cats

This is the first day of April, and She tells me to be very careful, because it is a day for playing tricks. So far, we haven't played any tricks, except I told Her I wanted pets, and then I ran away. Oh, and instead of sitting on the floor by Her chair to get my butter today, I got up on the table. It made Her chuckle, and I had five fingers of butter before I got down. He and She don't do tricks on each other. She said that would be mean, because we are all supposed to trust each other, and you can't do anything mean.
What She did this afternoon was to go and get Her breathing tested. She runs out of breath very easily, and the doc said to check Her breathing. It wasn't a hard test, She said. She had to breathe into a machine, then another machine, then the first machine again. She said She just felt a little silly doing that.
His mother called today and asked Her if They wanted to go to a Catholic church service on Sunday. She tried not to laugh at her,but they are SO not Catholic, She says. His mother doesn't know what day it is, so She wouldn't expect His mom to know that. If I ever get like that, just shoot me, She tells Him. I would NOT like that to happen!
I'll try to think up a trick to play on Kasey, and I promise it won't be a mean trick. Maybe I'll eat some kibbles out of her bowl. Beware of tricks!
