The name of this month has been November, which has two big days. One is Election Day, way at the beginning, and the Thankful Day, which we just had. In this particular November, we have helped Him and Her with getting things ready. I don't know what we will do with ourselves when all the boxes and bags have been examined and all the papers crumpled. I have helped with the computing, too, while She ordered things from far-away stores. By lying on the keyboard, I have given Her time to collect Her thoughts.
He and She hope that the end of every month won't mean rushing around to be sure His mother has a good amoiunt of money for her living place. I bet they get the hang of that stuff before the end of the next month.
He and She got married in the month that is coming, and so did Smudge'sMom and M. That was a long time ago for both of these families, and they like to celebrate together. He also has His birthday in that month, and They have a special party with Cleo'sFamily. The month will hardly start and Deena'sMom will go in an airplane to see her children and grandchildren, and that makes Her very chuffed. She will miss Deena'sMom, but will see lots of pictures when she gets back at the start of the next year,
No luck with the fish last night. I'll go and check if I am lucky tonight. TTYL

Quick-Change Cats
Have you ever gotten ready for something and at the very last minute changed your plans? Well, that is what we did today. After a good start, with the good butter today - the kind with salt in it - and some really good water and coffee-the-drink, we got organized for a trip to a few places to get some things we needed. Not Christmas things. Those are all here already. Just as we were about to bid Her goodbye and start watching out the windows for Her to come back, some rain came down in a big hurry, and She changed Her mind. She says She just turned off her shopping brain and turned on Her cozy-day-at-home brain. I was kind of chuffed. Kasey didn't care, and went to her blue blanket.
As long as She was home He asked Her to do the accounting for His mother's money. She is only allowed to have just a little, you remember. She wrote everything down for Him and was glad to do it. Then She chatted with Her computer friends. She just loves Her computer friends.
Tonight She is trying to decide about what to fix for our dinner. She is leaning toward that noodles with the red sauce, but I am sure She has fish in that freezer. When I finish this, I will go and look very hungry, and maybe She will get the hint. It worked last night for the little pie! Well things seem to be OK here, so I will go and do my hungry-cat thing. Toodles.

Cats and Quiet
This has been a quiet day. There have been regular sounds, of course, but mostly we have all been quiet. It is the habit of my rude sister, Kasey, to run around and yow sometimes. Today she didn't do that. At least not yet. I had a quiet conversation with Her about what was in the paper, and He talked on the phone, but then He left to get His computer, so I am just resting and enjoying a nice day, mainly.
One thing She did was to talk to Katy'sMom. They have a meeting together this week, and they had to check some papers so they are ready. Another thing was to work on getting Mazie's box ready to mail. There were some darling pictures of Mazie's family on the computer, and I didn't think She would ever go away and let me write my story!
Her beloved Eddie is in a far away place to make a movie, and She read where it is very cold there, and that they are having problems with their money, like we have had here where we live. She is hoping that Her Eddie will be OK with all that going on. Don't worry, He said. You always tell us not to worry about things we can't help. Now it is your turn to take yur own advice. She said Hmmf, but She told me He is right, so we listened to some music.
She hasn't decided what She will have for Her dinner. I am hinting for a little pie with chicken and vegetables, but I'm not sure She is getting my message. I'll let you know.

Sunbeam Cats
Around here, They are saying how cold it is. Of course, They mean outside, because in here it is nice and toasty. The sun came through the window after lunch, and I have been lying in it since then, until it just now went away. She was watching me, and seemed glad that I was so very pleased with that sun-spot. She didn't even make me help Her with chores. So while I rested and wiggled around, They were working on The Problem. You probably know what that is. It is the end of the month, and He has to make sure all the bank numbers come out just right for His mother's place before this month is over. She says She didn't work this hard when He was out of work and they had to pay their bills. That was way before we knew them, of course, and you, too, I bet. Only this is backward.
Talking about that gets me tired out, and I am really well-rested from my sunbeam nap, so I will talk about something else. She is happy for Her PoetryGirl, because PG is the star of a poetry show. And Smudge'sGirl learned how to drive. Another thing She likes is that Her OperaGirl and Her OzGirl are having fun together. Another happy thing is that Deena'sGirl is now married for as long as Kasey and I are alive, and Deena'sMom is going to see them pretty soon. It's all good.
So I will go check out the kitchen now. Bone-a Serra.

Package Cats
Oh, what a day we have had! Now that She is full of Thankful stuff, She has gotten very serious about Her packages. Come on, Coffs, we only have four weeks, She says. Well, the way She gets around, it is probably a good idea to keep helping Her. She has forgotten some of the stuff She already bought. I have to laugh right out loud when She says She must not have a present for someone, then She finds it hiding behind something in the gift closet. I have to remind Her that it will all turn out just fine. We go through this every year.
He is very wise, so He went to see a movie with Cleo'sGirls, so He didn't have to listen to Her. What a wise human He is. Next year, He says, just get everyone gift cards. That will save all the losing and finding presents. Or maybe we should just hijack the catalogs, so She doesn't have a bunch of stuff coming all year. Do you know what He thinks? He thinks She likes to do her packages this way. He says She likes to be surprised by stuff She forgot. Well, it is all OK with me, because I don't mind helping, as long as there are breaks when I can chase Kasey.
The leftovers from yesterday are perfect for out dinner tonight. They are all vegetables for Him, and She has some delicious chicken that She will add to Her plate. After all my hard work today, I am Sure she will have a piece for me. Crumpling paper and checking the inside of bags is no job for sissies. Stay tuned for more adventures.

Thankful Day
Mostly today, They were thankful for Cleo's family. They were so excited to go over there and eat a great big dinner that Kasey and I couldn't even be sorry that we had to stay here by ourselves. They had a big bunch of food that all tasted lovely. They brought some home, but were too full to show it to us. I'll look for a taste tomorrow. Also, They are knackered, and want to shut down the computer, so I must make my story very short. I am thankful for you, and I am thankful for Them, and I am thankful for my rude little sister, even when she acts goofy. Now She says we have to get ready for Christmas and His birthday. So I will be back to report. Nitey Nite.

Thankful Day Minus 1
We are having a busy day, not because of Thankful Day, but because of juggling money. You see, it is important to keep his mother's money at a certain level, and it looks as if they have too much. When She talked to the lawyer, She told her how weird it was to look for ways to spend money. Imagine, all Her life She worked hard to save money, so looking for ways to spend it is out of Her area. There are many rules about what it can be spent on, so it is a special kind of weird. Luckily, there are people who had to do the same thing, and they gave us some ideas.
Well, tomorrow will be a perfect delight for them. After She makes Her orange potatoes, everything else will be ready at Cleo'sFamily's house. Spending time with that part of Their family is always particularly fun for Them, especially if Cleo'sGirls are both home.
She is thinking about Her other friends and grandchildren, and hoping they are having as much fun as She is - except for the money-juggling. She feels lucky to have so many people in Her heart, as well as two adorable (ahem) cats and a bunch of cat-cousins.
He has gone to have dinner with His mother, so we are happy to be here at home with Her.
She isn't sure what She will have for Her dinner, but She told me I would like it. Can it be fish? I'll check it out. Later, Gator.

Thinking Cats
It was very strange today, because She went to Thinking Day without Him, which made Them both a little sad. You know He had something to straighten out about His mother and where she used to live. The good news about that is He got it all fixed, and She didn't have to give them the hairy eyeball. She told Him the question at Thinking was excellent, and the discussion was good, although She talked too much, but She says these Thinking People energize Her. One of the guys is in a play in a couple of weeks, and She wants to go.
While She was at the Thinking House, She saw the little gray cat that they take care of. They can't let Her inside, because their inside cat wouldn't like it. We know how that goes. She told me that the inside cat, named Sabra, stayed all during the talking, and lay on a stool with her belly sticking up. Kasey and I told Her that would be a very confident cat to do that. Usually, we hide our whole selves when company comes, but we only show our tummies when just the four of us are at home.
She sent a package to Her OperaGirl, and the sending company said they delivered it. She says She wishes She had been in the package.. But She will be glad to visit with Cleo'sFamily on Thankful day. She loves Cleo'sFamily. She is bringing some orange potatoes for that dinner.
For our dinner tonight, I believe I sniffle sausage. Not fish, but ok. Chow bellas.

Progress Cats
It looks as if we are making progress here. All Her shopping is done, now we have to wait for some more packages to come in the mail, then we can wait patiently for the holidays. No matter how many presents She buys, She and He don't celebrate Christmas. Does that sound strange to you? It did to me, so She told me that She celebrates the idea of peace and the fun of the season - and it doesn't hurt that His birthday is the day before Christmas. It is an excuse to give presents, and to celebrate finishing another year without too much fuss.
Today a nice thing came in the mail, and it was about Christmas. LW'sBiggestSister is very good with animals, so They ordered a big animal book for her. It is very beautiful, and She hopes LW'sSis lets Her look at it some more.
He made progress today, too. He is trying to clear up things with the place where His mother used to live, and He keeps getting bills from them. She moved out of there a long time ago, but no one seems to know how to stop the bills. He needs to get it fixed before She goes in there and makes a bunch of noise. At least He has an appointment with someone who can fix it, although He will have to miss Thinking Day. She is fixing those orange potatoes again, and that means there will be meat with them, I can't wait to see what dinner has in store for us. Bon swar.

Progress Cats
Today Kasey jumped way up onto the organizer on the tip-top of Her other desk - the one that doesn't have Her computer. Why is this so special, you ask. Isn't Kasey always jumping up on something? Well it has been a long time since Her desk was clear enough for Kasey to jump on. It has been covered with presents for a long time. Now lots of them have been sorted into bags for each person who gets a present. As long as She can keep the bags straight, we are getting someplace. Here is something funny. She got something for Cleo'sMom a long time ago, and marked CM's name on the box. When She looked in it today, so She could put it into the right bag, She had forgotten what it was. Well, She was right to get it, because it is very cute. Someone asked Her what She wants for a present, and it turns out She doesn't want anything you can't use up. Too much stuff already. She would rather get stuff for other people, like I told you before.
Tonight She is cooking one of those little pies I like. It has gravy and chicken and vegetables. Plenty for me to share. I got some of Her meat and gravy last night as well. He has told her He doesn't want gumbo any more - at least for awhile. She is glad. It gets tiresome having the same thing every week. That's kind of strange, because I eat kibbles every day, and I never get tired of them. I told Her to try kibbles, but She just laughed. You can never tell about humans. I'll check back tomorrow, so bye bye.

Alert Cats
Kasey and I had to be very watchful today, since Katy-next-door was in our yard. We kept track of her every move, and then what do you think she did? She walked out between the shed and the fence with a mouse in her mouth. I didn't see what she did with the mouse, because she walked back toward her own house, and we couldn't see her anymore. I hope she didn't eat that mouse. Kasey said she didn't care and went to sleep. Well. I stayed alert anyway.
There was more sorting and arranging today. One thing She got done was getting packages ready to mail. Of course it is too soon to mail them for Christmas, but they are packed up and out of the way. Wouldn't it be funny, Coffs, She said to me, if I forgot to mail them in time? We had a good laugh about that. If She is counting on me to remind Her, though, well, good luck with that.
So I am sure we will have the whole mess arranged and presents sorted in another couple of weeks. Meanwhile, I am counting on a very good dinner. What She is fixing has meat and gravy. Way too much for Her to have by Herself. I will help Her with it, don't you worry. I am especially glad I don't have to eat a mouse for my dinner. She says it is not nice to say yuck, but if I had to eat a mouse, I might just say it. I will go and check on everything now. TTYL.

Amused Cats
Kasey and I had to chuckle today, because He took Her out on a date. I guess He has had lunch with His mother often enough, so today He wanted to take Her. You know He can't go just anyplace to eat, because of the vegetables, so they went to the same place She goes with Her beloved Crones. He ate plenty of vegetables, while She ate lots of fish. She was sorry to have to tell me that, since you can't bring food home from this place. Even more sad for me is that She ate so much that She isn't even thinking about our dinner. Then I think of the two of Them going on a date, and I start to chuckle again.
When She got home, She read some messages. One from Her OperaGirl got Her all in a tizzy, but then Her OG straightened it all out. You see, She thought Her beloved Eddie had not been nice to Her OperaGirl, and She didn't know what to do - but then, a couple of notes back and forth, and all was well. She sometimes forgets that Her Eddie is a big star, and not just Her Grandson. In My Mind, She says. Eddie is in my family In My Mind. Eddie says that a lot.
So She wants to have a quiet weekend, because next week has a lot of marks on the calendar. All good things, but still, things that are not quiet. Thankful Day comes next week, and He and She are quite chuffed.
Should I hold out hope for something She will share with me? If not, kibbles are good. Kasey and I are thankful for kibbles. I'll check back tomorrow.

Wrapping Cats
Actually, She doesn't do wrapping. She puts all the stuff in a bag from the store, so people can make use of it. She tells us this is good for the world, so I guess it is OK, She started sorting things into bags a while ago, but we kind of got stalled, so now we are getting really into the job. Kasey and I check the inside of the bags so we know they are ready for the stuff. If She has to use paper, we crumple it up for Her. We also keep track of the occasional string. When She is sending a package in the mail, She doesn't wrap it at all, just fills up a box. I do my part, but Kasey is the head box inspector. We also helped by pushing all the catalogs onto the floor, so She isn't tempted to get more stuff. She truly loves to get things for people, and tries to do it without spending too much money. Everyone knows that, so they don't expect magnificent things - just things that are cute or meaningful. Some of Her friends make things for their presents. He and She have gotten some seriously great things like that. Some people know what He and She like, and get things for that. And some people don't know what to give to Them. Let me remind you that They have two adorable kitties (koffkoff), knackered from helping, in case you need a hint. Really, I believe She doesn't care if She gets any present at all. She mostly loves to give them. That is what happens when you get old, I guess.
He has gone to a party where His mother lives. She was invited, but stayed here with us. It is a reward for all our help. So, Toodle Pip.

In-a-Rut Cats
When you keep doing the same thing every day, She tells me that means you are in a rut. Kasey and I like our routines, but we don't want to be in a rut. It helps if They do some different things, because then we have to add parts to our routine, like watching for them and wondering when they will be back. We also like to chase each other and stalk things, just to break up the routine. Today, for example, I curled up in the other half-a-circle chair. She had to laugh when I did that. You must have felt like you were getting in a rut, Coffs, She said. You know, She has no business making fun of my routines. She has some pretty big routines Herself. Ask me what She likes to drink every day. Ask me what She eats for breakfast, and what She does while She is eating Her breakfast. If there were no coffee-the-drink, I think She would just go back to bed. If She runs out of cinnamon-raisin toast, She would be very grumpy. If there were no paper to read, She would be at a loss. If you ask me, She is in a bigger rut than Kasey and I are in.
She says that will change soon, because She and He will be very busy next week. To be fair, She likes different things for Her dinner. There is some hope for Her. Just so She doesn't want to sit in the chair where I am taking my nap. She says She is eating meatballs tonight. Not my favorite, but better than salad. Later, Gator.

Thankful Cats
Every day She writes on Her computer and tells what She is thankful for. She is going to do that every day because Thanksgiving is in a bunch of days. She says She is thankful all the time, but doesn't say it enough. She is so thankful for all our cousins and their people that She just smiles when She thinks fo them. She is sad that we have lost Deena and Cleo, but She still loves them, and their people make Her heart feel good. She says She is thankful for finding us at the esspeeceeay. Cleo'sMom helped Them find us, and we are very thankful for that. We are thankful that we don't have to live in those cages any more, and that we don't have to go back to those houses where the people didn't want us any more. In this house, Kasey and I are Top Cats, and there a plenty of kibbles and treats. That is not the best thing. The best is Him and Her. They love us so much that even Kasey has to purr once in awhile. They are not too busy to brush us, and give skritches, and talk to us. She tells us about our cousins, and feels that they are just as important as Their human friends. Last night, when I was having a little nap on Her tummy, some dogs came by and barked so loud that I could hear them , even in the house. She gave me snuggles and said there there, Coffs, we won't let anyone hurt you. I am so thankful for that. It is very nice to feel safe. What are you thankful for?

Chair Cats
In our house we have a room with chairs. Two of the chairs are the kind that tilt back and make a good place to rest. She likes to sit in the one that doesn't rock, so He sits in the rocking-tilt-back chair. Sometimes He goes to sleep while He pretends to watch TV. Two of the other chairs are alike, and She likes to sit in either one. These chairs are kind of round, like half of a circle, and they are designed for a big coffee-colored cat (ahem) to just fit. I love that chair, where I can sleep all day and just get up to lie in the spot of sun that comes after lunch. Kasey likes to sleep on her blue blanket. I know you have seen the picture. Another place she likes to snooze is on the little couch. The one She calls a love seat. If you come to our house, you can find the chair where She sits very easily. I have jumped up on the back of it and decorated that chair with hair, so it looks as if it has a fur top on it. She really appreciates that. I get into that chair while She watches TV, and go to sleep on Her tummy or chest. What would She do without me?
There was such a lot of mail today that she will have to spend a long time reading catalogs. And people have sent Her free things and asked for some money for children or soldiers or people with troubles. She is ready to yell at them. Stop sending me stuff! It makes her feel guilty, because if She sends money to all of them, She will never see the end of it. Someone told Her to just send a dollar to each one, and they will figure out that She doesn't like to feel guilty and stop sending stuff. I'll let you know if that works. I think I'll go curl up in my half-a-circle chair until dinner is ready. Toodles.

Demo-Cats
In our country there are two groups who want to do things their own way. One is called republicats and the other is called demo-cats. Surely you can understand which one He and She like most. Here's what the demo-cats like: helping each other, seeing that everyone gets a fair share of things, not just the fat cats. If you ask me, Kasey is probably a republicat at heart, because she cares most about what is good for her. Of course, I am a demo-cat, because I like to share. You know I am willing to share Her dinner if it is something good. She says the President of the whole country is a demo-cat, so we will watch for him to do good things for everyone.
When She was visiting with Her computer friends today, She got very lonesome for them, and told Him that She wishes Her bones did not ache so much. Maybe then She could visit the people in real life, and help them get dinner ready or something. He said He needs Her to stay here and get our dinner ready, especially if Her bones didn't ache. That made Her kind of happy, so She started fixing His favorite gumbo. He likes it the way She makes it, but She says if a real gumbo-person tasted it they would say it is the most Yankee gumbo in the world. She doesn't care. LW'sMom makes real chili and She puts beans in Hers. LW'sMom says that is Yankee chili, and She loves LW'sMom, so it's OK. Of course now that He only eats vegetables, She says it doesn't matter either way.
I need to check on things now. TTYL.

Keep in Touch Cats
There was something about today - maybe because it started out rainy and a bit cold - that made us feel sentimental. We spent a lot of time thinking about our cousins and wondering if they are keeping busy and healthy. We see Katy a lot, and it seems as if she is fine. She certainly is lively, because she can climb a tree as well as hop over the fence. Our Smudge and his sibs must be OK, or Smudge'sMom would have told us. Same with Lion and BabyNick. I am glad Ollie survived the adventures where he lives, and LW'sKitties must be as happy as can be, with those darlings to play with. And Sabra is happy, now that her Mom is home from India.
I guess She felt sentimental, too. She called Her Niece and Nephew who live far away, where She came from. She hasn't talked to them in a lot of months, maybe even a year. Isn't it funny how busy our lives are? Her Nephew's Dad was Her Brother. At least that is what they believed, and that's how they felt. Of course, now She and Her Real Brother found each other. She is really happy about that. This is the kind of thing that we have been thinking about today. They are cozy thoughts for a stay-inside day.
You would think She would be making gumbo for dinner today, but He has gone to visit with His mother, so She will have Her dinner when He gets home. He will eat with l'ancienne. If it keeps everyone happy - or as happy as l'ancienne gets, it is fine with Her. And Kasey and I have plenty of kibbles, so we are fine, too. Are you fine? I hope so.

Stay-at-Home Cats
There was nothing on the to-do list today that She had to go away for, so we helped Her around the house . Although He went to take His mother to lunch today, we just got a few things done around here. She has decided that this room is not de-cluttered enough, so we worked on that for awhile, but we got knackered, so we went to have a little nap while She talked with Her computer friends. She tells me it is very cold where a lot of her Eddie-people live, and that those Grandchildren who have to go to work are being very busy. The ones who have to go to school are almost ready to have a bit of rest, too. She follows their adventures very closely, and found out one of Her girls, the Hugggggs one, has broken her foot/leg. She is glad the movie about Her beloved Eddie is going to be available way over the sea, where he lives, and She is so chuffed that Her Mazie gave Her that movie long ago on Her birthday.
Things should be better at LW's house, when her Dad comes home from a work trip. Imagine LW'sMom going to school to learn Minister Work, and having LW and all her sibs to care for, and LW'sDad being too far away to come home at night. Good thing for them that they have kittens!
We are also sad that Smudge'sDad has a hurt back, and that S'sM has to take care of him. Even Kasey admits that we are pretty lucky cats. Well, Ah-dyoo for now., mez amis.

Soldier Day Cats
Once, a very long time ago, way before He and She were born, there was a big war. When that war was over, they signed a paper and called it Armistice. That means all the fighting would stop. People were so glad therre would nt be any more war that they made the day a holiday. Do you think that ended wars? Well you are wrong, because since then there have been a bunch more of wars. They decided to keep the holiday, but since it doesn't mark the end of wars, they decided to use the holiday to thank all the soldiers who were ever in any war. I was very interested while She talked about this, but Kasey didn't care, and went back to sleep. He and She don't do anything special for this holiday, besides be grateful that They don't have anyone in the war right now. When He was a boy, every healthy boy had to go to the war training place. He went to Marines, and a long time later, so did Deena'sBoy. I feel very sad to think about these people getting ready for a war. They are such kind humans. She never was a soldier, because they didn't let girls be soldiers when She was young. I had to give Her some extra snuggles, because I was so glad She never had to go get ready for a war. Today was very serious because of this holiday. She says She is not even hungry for Her dinner. I'll try to convince Her that She should have a little something - some chicken or some fish. Good night and good luck.

Cat Wisdom
Since She had lunch with Her beloved Crones today, Kasey and I started thinking about wisdom. The Crones, you see, are known for their wisdom, since they have lived a long time and learned a lot of stuff. At this point, they enjoy each other so much, because wisdom is very valuable. So Kasey and I thought about all the things we have learned in our years of being cats. First of all, we are wise because we found a nice home with Him and Her. The lessons we learned before that made me kind of scared, and Kasey kind of rude helped us understand what is good in a cat's life. Here with Them, we are appreciated. There is a lot of value in that, because it gets you pets and skritches as well as plenty of kibbles, lots of water, and the occasional piece of chicken or shrimp. Even though Kasey longs to go outside and eat grass, we both have the wisdom to stay inside, where it is safe from dogs and bad influences. She agrees, because knowing where you belong is a wise thing. And it is really wise to know when you are appreciated. It is pleasant to be wise. I can see shy She and Her Crones like it.
Where the Crones eat their lunch you cannot bring home things that are left over, because there are a million things to pick from. I heard Her tell Him that the tuna salad made a good sandwich. Hmmf. Well, I guess She would share if She could. Maybe at dinner time? I'll let you know. Be wise, my friends. It works for us. Ta.

Cats and Haircuts.
Kasey and I are covered in hair. Every part of us is covered in hair. I get brushed almost every day, because I have so much hair that it comes out on the furniture and on her clothes when I am giving snuggles. As far a I know Kasey has never been brushed. So someone please tell me why She gets in a fit when She thinks She needs a haircut. You would think that She would be glad Her head was warm in these cold nights. But no. She simply HAS to have a haircut, or She needs to go into hiding. She even suspects Her hair of giving Her that cold. Well, today She went to get Her hair cut, and from where I sit, I can't see much difference. She can, however, and is dancing with happy feet because She can see Her eyebrows.
It is really quite cold where our cousin Ollie lives. Our KnittingGirl and our HuggyGirl are talking about being cold. We feel just fine here, because it is cool at night and warm in the day. Whatever it is like, I still sleep in a piece of sunshine every afternoon. Her OzGirl is coming back to Her OperaGirl's house, and She is happy about that, even though She will miss visiting with them. She told me our cousin Lion is all well from his sick ear, so we are glad about that
He is having His dinner with His mother, at the place where she lives, so we will have our chicken without Him. He just eats vegetables, so we probably won't get any shrimp. Oh well. It could be worse. Someone's at the door. I have to go and check. That's all my news for today. Bye.

Better Casts
It was still an easy day today, but She does feel better. That means Kasey and I feel better, too. Of course, I gave her the usual Cat treatments. I massaged her tummy, I snuggled Her neck, and I stayed on Her lap so She didn't need to get up and do anything. She was chuffed to get a note from LW'sMom, who has forgiven Her for missing the church story. It makes Her feel better to hear from Her friends.
He took His mother to pick up her hearing aids today. He hopes it will be easy to talk to her now, if she can hear him. She says She doesn't think l'ancienne will wear them. He has bought her so many things that she didn't use. One thing She thinks is that He will need some, one day soon, judging by how loud He makes the TV.. His mother's were made to fit her ears exactly, so if she doesn't like them, He won't be able to use them. So much for recycling, She says. Can you guess if His mother likes her new home?
She still isn't very hungry today. The things that taste good to Her are salty things and nice, cold grapes. I wonder if that means we will have chips and grapes for our dinner. Kasey and I are glad She doesn't give us Her cold, but some fish or shrimp would be nice, since I am being medicine for Her, and Kasey is sleeping on the couch , which is pretty close to Her, for Kasey. I hope She gets over this election news. It might be what gave Her the cold in the first place.
Hasta manana, chicas.

Bummer Cats
We like it when He and She are home with us, but not when She is feeling pew. When She woke up, She knew her sneezes and sniffles had turned into a cold, and She was bummed. She wanted to go and see LW'sMom at Her church, and She thought She would see LW and her sibs as well. But it would be a sad thing if other people caught Her cold. Yes, She stayed home, but She didn't do much. She said hi to Her computer friends, and followed the medical advice that would help Her. That means She fixed some chicken soup, She put on an Eddie, and She got all comfy in Her chair. She doesn't feel very hungry, which is amazing for Her, so I think She will not have a very interesting dinner. I'll check it out, just to be sure.
Last night, They fixed all the clocks so that it was an hour earlier today. Even with Her cold, She woke up before He did, and had some coffee-the-drink, in hopes it would chase the sniffles away. She found out Mazie's sister in law passed a big test, and is now a lawyer. They were chuffed about thatand that Mazie got only 1 grade that wasn['t an A on her report card. How nice it is that She can read these things every week in a letter from Mazie's Dad. So my work for tonight is to make sure She has plenty of snuggles, at least two massages, and a nice warm cat in Her lap. I guess I'll fill up on kibbles now. The dinner plans look kind of blah. Oh Reevwar, amis.

Cats and Squirrels
This morning, He put seeds out for the birds, just as He does every morning. Kasey and I sit and watch the birds eating their breakfast, and make sure they don't get too close. Sometimes our cousin Katy comes over to watch the birds, too. When Katy is there, the birds stay out close to the fence. He puts seeds in two places, just in case this happens. Today Kasey was not there, and the birds were close to the house - when Mrs. Squirrel decided to come and see if there were any seeds she might like. Kasey and I are not used to seeing Mrs. Squirrel, so we acted very alert and protective. Who knows what might happen if Mrs. Squirrel gets too close! Of course, She was very proud of us, and asked if the squirrel was covered in make-up. At first I was puzzled, but then I remembered it was an Eddie-joke and we all had a little chuckle.
She is hoping to go to the new place where Her church is meeting, because LW'sMom is telling the lesson in Her church. Besides, She wants to see how the new place works. Trouble is, She is sniffling and sneezing, so She may need to keep Her germs at home. There are some things you aren't supposed to share, She says. If the sneezing and sniffling comes from the outside, She will be able to tell, and then She isn't germy. If it is a cold, She'll know by morning. Meanwhile, She will make gumbo, which He loves. I'll let you know tomorrow. Until then, chow, bellas.

Cool Cats
If you know Her, you know She doesn't like cold weather. So why was She so excited that the weather guy said it was going to get cold? Well, I know the answer to that. When it was Her birthday, Smudge'sMom let Her pick out a color, and made Her a jacket. It was not an ordinary jacket, either. It was a particularly nice jacket with lots of colors and buttons that look like flowers.Since She got the finished jacket, it has not been cold enough to wear it. But yesterday it was, and today, too. Maybe it will start getting cooler on lots of days. There is no doubt about it, She loves that jacket.
She didn't have an appointment or anything, but She went to get Her toes painted red today. That is a real treat for Her, because the toe girls massage her feet and put lotion on them, and She feels very special. Luxury is what She calls it. You see, She has this kind of big tummy that makes it hard for Her to reach Her own toes, but the girls at the nail place let her sit in a comfy chair and do all the work, and She loves it.
So things were good for us today. It was cool enough for Her jacket, Her toes are nice and red, and there is fish for Her supper. I give this day a high mark! So long for now.

Cats and Friends
Friends are very important to Them, because Their friends can make them feel a lot better. For example, today I could tell that She was not having a good day. Oh, She didn't act angry or impatient, just kind of sad. You know, the kind where you sigh and just look out the window. I tried to cheer Her up while She was trying to read Her paper, but for some reason, it didn't help. He said I'm glad you are having lunch today with a cheer-up friend, because you always come home in good spirits. It turned out that the friend was Deena'sMom, and it worked. She had to do a couple of errands after that lunch, but when She got home She was nice and chipper. She also brought home some good things to eat. Deena'sMom gave Her some coffee-the-drink, and we all know She loves that. She also got some great-looking food in a jar. She told Him it was peach cobbler. They will save it for a special occasion, She said - like a Saturday. That is a joke . And a boxful of Her leftover lunch smelled a lot like shrimp. I am being good so that She will give me some.
She is happy that Deena'sMom is going to see her grandchildren. She has a very long ride in a plane, but it is worth it, because grandchildren make Her smile, just thinking about them. The way She talks about them, grandchildren sound almost as good as cats!
I have to go give Her a massage, so She remembers to give me a shrimp from her extra lunch box. TTYL.......

Cats and Cars
This is not about my opinion about cars, because I don't really go anywhere in a car. What it is about is Her typing board, Most of the letters have rubbed off of it. She says maybe She spends too much of Her time writing Her stories. Of course, She can't blame me. But when I can't see the letters, I have to take my chances putting my paw in the right place. The place where you push a T is right next to where you push an R, so sometimes my story says cars when it means cats. Of course, if you have been writing as long as I have, you should remember. But hey, I'm only feline!
I had plenty of time to write today, because She went out to the store, and came home too knackered to check with Her friends. She tries to get most things that He and She will need for a few weeks, and usually comes home with something extra, if it is on sale. She loves to find nice things on sale, or with a coupon. Today She found some things that She said were bear claws. I have seen pictures of bears, and their claws do not look like the things She got. They look kind of like cakes. But I think She liked them because thy look gooey and nutty. Kasey and I are not interested.
I am saying hi to all our cousins, and being glad they are safe after Halloween. Now I must go and check on what's for dinner. Poodle tip. (Get it?)

Cars Can't Vote
If we could vote, we would vote for people who are nice to each other, and who want to help all cats, not just Persians and Siamese. Everyone today was talking about voting. She voted a long time ago, and could tell the million people who called Her today that She already voted. She did thank them for helping, though, instead of just hanging up. He and She have decided to be role-models for nice behavior. He even took His mother shopping today. Here is what's funny about it. The place where she lives called here because they were very upset. They couldn't find her. When She told them that He had taken her to the store, they were very relieved, and told Her to tell Him not to take l'ancienne away without telling them, ever again.
Her OperaGirl sent Her a message today about her trip to get more famous. I am sorry She forgot to ask about our cousins, but Her OG would have told Her if anything was wrong.
The other topic for today was that a guy came to inspect the heating in this house. They do this before it gets cold, and usually find something that needs to be fixed. This guy said everything was just fine, and She wanted to give him a hug for that. Instead, She gave him a bottle of soda, which he said he really liked. She was very relieved that nothing was wrong, and that we will be warm this winter - if it ever gets cold. The weather was nice today, although the TV guy said it would rain a lot. It didn't.
There will be something nice for dinner tonight, I can tell by the way it sniffles to me. Later, Gator.

Cheering Cats
Kasey and I are cheering today! He and She are cheering, too. Do you know why? It is because of LW's news. If you remember, LW was very sick a while ago, and LW'sMom, Dad, Sibs and docs all worked together to make her well again. All her friends and grandmas and grandpas helped LW to be well by sending love to her. Now LW has to get checked to be sure that sickness is gone forever. Today there was a report from LW'sMom, and it said NED. That means No Evidence of Disease. That is what made Her and Him so joyful, and that makes Kasey and me joyful. Besides, we love LW and her sibs, especially her bigger sister, because they are nice to us. Good for you, LW, for being NED and for making us joyful.
Guess what Her OperaGirl did when she came home from her weekend of being famous. She went to see a show. It made Her tickled pink just to read about it. What She says is that Her OG is a dynamo, and She loves her very much.
He turned in His blue car today, because He doesn't need three cars, and He is driving His mother's car now. She is sad that They couldn't give it to Smudge'sGirl, but He and She really need to use that money. She gets sad to talk about money, but there has been a lot going on these days - about His mother's care and running out of money. Luckily, the news about LW kept Her spirits up. I am sure She will have something with chicken to share with me tonight. Hurrah!
