A Cat for Her

When She was reading Her email today, She found a message from LW'sMom about cats. It says that cats are friends with their moms, and not just because of the food. Well, when
She read it and showed it to me, I wondered what all the fuss is about. Of course I am friends with Her. I tell Her how I feel, and She tells me how She feels. We give each other advice, and we laugh about Kasey being so weird. We can't wait to hear about all our cousins, and we make each other feel better when we are lonesome for Smudge'sMom or OperaGirl, and we dance together when we see pictures of Hana and Mazie. We watch movies together, and make Eddie-jokes, like when I'm purring and She says cat are you drilling? and we fall over laughing. We give Him snuggles when He comes home from seeing His mother and He is sad. Yes, She and I are very good friends. LW'sMom is right. Kasey, on the other hand, only likes Her for the treats, but She doesn't mind. That's how Kasey is, She says. We're used to it.
So the week has started, and tomorrow will be a new month. That means its just a little while until Spring. It is already warm, and the trees are turning green again. Katy is happier now, when it isn't so cold. Maybe LW'sMom will have time before her summer work to have some time away from her schoolwork. I'll keep you posted. TTFN

Good Day Cats

None of us had anything big on our calendars for today, so all four of us just took time to enjoy the day. Kasey played with the green, fuzzy mouse all by herself, and had a fun time with it. I stalked it, because I am not sure how to play with it. He worked on His vegetables, which He cuts up into a big bowl and then puts in small dishes. That way, if He wants some for His lunch, or a snack, he just takes a package. She drank coffee and read the paper, then came in here to talk to Her computer friends. One thing we are ll excited about is what is on TV tonight. They are giving prizes to the people who make the best movies. I believe thay have a lot of these kinds of shows, but somehow, They think this one is the most important. We all know whom we want to win. It is the guy who pretends he is the king, but he can't talk right. I didn't see this, because They went to a place to see it where all they do is show movies to people. It costs a lot of money to go to these places, and we all know how She is about things like that. I really hope the guy and his movie win the prize, because it will make Them both chuffed.
More good news is that we are having fish for our dinner, along with those orange potatoes She loves so much. I heard Her telling Him that She is giving me a bad habit of tasting some of Her food, but He said why not, since we give Kasey treats all the time. I just LOVE Him. Sy-o-nara.

Odd Saturday

You know She doesn't usually go out on Saturdays, but today was different. She and Katy'sMom and Katy'sGirl rode to a place where they go every so often. Everyone was kind of quiet today. Sometimes they jibber jabber, but today I guess everyone was tired. It was still a nice ride, She said. They were made late because a humongous train came right across the road, and they had to wait. When they got there, they waited a long time, and the meeting only took a few minutes. It was kind of funny, don't you think? But there She was, all ready for a a busy day. She took a little while to play with us, then did stuff on Her to-do list.
While all this was happening, He went to visit with His mother. He is very upset, because his ears hurt, and the people who are supposed to help Him with paying for His mother keep wanting more and more information, and first both of them puzzle over it, then He works on it some more. They told me that if the numbers don't come out all right, there won't be enough money to pay for l'ancienne to stay in a caring place. It makes Them cry, and I hate that. Luckily, I know how to make them comfy with snuggles. Well, for tonight, They are going to watch a movie and eat Their left-over Mazie-lunch food. That will bring the smiles back, I promise you. And tomorrow will be better. It always is. TTFN.

Can't Believe It Cats

I can NOT believe I didn't write a story yesterday! Even though She went away, She left Her computer on and everything. Maybe it was because I had to care for Him. He was supposed to go to a meeting, but His ears were having lots of pain. He seems to have some kind of swollen places in his ear that hurt him a lot. I know, because He never misses a meeting. So I had to care for Him until She came home and started clucking about Him. I was plenty knackered by then, and needed to have a nap. When She sat down to watch TV, I got up from my lap and went to sleep on Her. Well, that's my story.
Today is completely different. Both of Them feel happy today, because Mazie came to visit from her home far away. There was so much hugging that I had to go and hide in the closet for awhile. They went to have lunch with Mazie's oldest brother and his partner. That was to celebrate his birthday and Hers, which both just passed. She told me the food was wonderful, but She didn't even care, She was so happy to see Mazie. What a lady she is becoming. What good hugs she gives. Kasey actually played with Mazie, which she never does with anyone except LW's oldest sister. When I felt safe, I came out and got some sweet, gentle pets. I can see why She loves this nice girl.
They ate pretty late today, so I don't know what will be for dinner, but I'll check it out and report. Toodles.

Bad News/Good News Cats

Today a guy came to check on the air conditioner before They had to turn it on. It was supposed to be a check up to be sure everything is OK. It turned out that the guy said Our AC was going to break. He was sure. He said how much it would cost to fix it and She got really mad. She said Do you ever check one and it's all right? and the guy says yes. While She was huffing at the guy, He said they have a paper that pays for things like that. She must have forgotten, because She had to go look it up. Sure enough, there was the paper. He called the paper people, and they said sure, they would pay for a new AC if Ours quit. She stopped being mad and said that He was a smart apple for getting that. He said thanks, but He thought She knew about it. If you have to forget stuff, this is how it should turn out. So it turned into good news after all.
There is going to be a party in the place where Her OperaGirl lives. She can't go, but She told Her OG to go and tell Her about it after. There will be a bunch of Eddie-people from all over. She knows how nice it was to meet the Eddie-people that She knows, and She can't wait to hear about it!
Tonight is the meeting with Her beloved Crones, and She always likes that. She doesn't fix Her dinner at home, so it will be a kibble night for Kasey and me, and She will be happy when She comes home from that. She loves Her Crones. I'll tell you about it tomorrow. Bye.

Big Thinking Cats

Yes, this is the day when they went to the Thinking People's House, and had a lively discussion about making decisions for now or later. If someone says they will give you something now or twice as much for later, which would you pick? I can tell you, I would take it now and yow for it later. She says that isn't a good way to work, and when you have a little wisdom, you will realize why it is good to wait. Kasey must be wiser than me, because she would wait for just what she wants. I would take it now and believe with all my heart I will get more later, and I bet She will give it to me. She says LW'sMom would know what level of wise that is. He and She were very excited, because their Crone friend was there. That friend had a big operation on her tummy, and was feeling well enough to come to Thinking. Since He hadn't been feeling very well, He almost didn't go, but when He saw who was there, He was glad He went. They couldn't stay too long, because Sabra'sMom was coming home today from a very big trip halfway around the world, and Sabra'sDad was anxious to see her.
They are usually glad on Thinking Day, and everything was nice until His mother's bank sent some information that cost a lot of money to print, and He was upset, because He didn't order it.
She will be so glad to get rid of that bank and the person who causes all the trouble. Why do some people die when they are young and some people keep living for more than 94 years. That's what She wants to know. Well, I don't know the answer to that. Do you? We'll talk about it later.

President Cats

Today was Presidents Day, so She told us to act presidential all day. Kasey says she always acts presidential, but I had to find out what it meant. What She told me was if you are president, you should act with good manners and be helpful. She says the man who is president now is smart and kind, and a lot of people are jealous of him. This president acts like presidents are supposed to She says. He works on making things better for all the people, not just the rich ones. If I were president, I would work hard to get all cats good homes like ours, and make sure they all have enough to eat and don't get hit by cars. She says I have Her vote.
She has a nice friend who is one of Her beloved Crones. The two of them went to a nice place in between their two houses, so neither one had to go too far. They had a lovely visit, and a lovely lunch. When I saw what She brought home, I told the clock to hurry up and make it time for supper. It is pasta with little teeny fish in it, She says are scallops. Whatever you call them, the look fine. Perfect size for a tasting cat. He says He never saw scallops that small, but He thought they look good, too. She also brought home some of Her dessert, which a girl made right there at the eating place. It looks like really thin pieces of paper with nuts and honey in between. She is not even going to offer Him any, it is that good. Well, happy Presidents Day. Chow.

Cats Have a Visitor

When He goes out in the morning to get the paper, He shuts the bedroom door so that Kasey won't try to escape. He feeds the birds, gets the paper, and puts out kibbles for our cousin, Katy-next-door.Today, Katy was waiting, and decided to come in for a visit. She checked the food and water inside, but didn't eat or drink anything. She went and checked the front door, to make sure she could get out. but she preferred to stay around and check on everything here. I tried to talk to her, but she thought I was big and scary. That's a laugh, because I am a pussycat, in every sense of the word. Kasey and Katy visited for awhile, and Katy played on our catnip pad. Katy must not get much catnip, because she quite rolled around on the pad. Even got under it. She says She will ask Katy'sMom about it. After awhile, Katy yowed at the front door, and He let her back out.
After that, She went to visit where LW'sMom was telling people that they are wonderful just any way they are, and She said LW'sMom was brilliant. She was very proud to hear that talk. She got to see the Alpha's and lots of other old friends. It was very nice, and She said it was sad and happy at the same time. She said She was like Katy: looking around and seeing what was there, and then She went to Our house, where She belongs. It cheered Her up to send something to Her beloved OperaGirl. I must go have my before-dinner snack. TTYL

Watching Cats

There is a lot to watch today. Remember, She got a bunch of very funny shows from Hana'sGran, then They got that red envelope that has a story every week. Today the mail guy brought two more shows. One was about Her beloved Eddie, and one was from Her beloved StefferGirl, with a story that has the King guy in it. If She could actually stay on Her feet long enough to dance, She would be dancing right now. Instead, She is sitting and reading a book that was in the StefferGirl's package. I guess She likes the book, because She is making smiling noises.
I was wrong about the fish last night. At the last minute She changed to something else. It was something about unfreezing the fish. It is correctly unfrozen today, so it will definitely be fish tonight. That's good, because I have been patient long enough. She is making something that looks like little cabbages. He will share those, because he loves those things. I am glad They do, because Kasey and I think they are almost as bad as mice.
LW'sMom is on Their minds a lot today, because there is a plan to help teenagers find a friendly place to go, no matter what they think. She says it is about love, and all love is good. She and He believe that, and so does LW'sMom. I have to go and see what She is reading and watching now. so, Oh-ree-vwar for now.

Calm Cozy Cats

It was good to know that She took my advice and stayed home today. After all, if She goes out to a party every day, it will just become humdrum. I'm not sure She believes me on that, but it was a pleasure to have Her home all day. She did have kind of a celebration lunch right here at home. There was the little left-over pie from Wednesday, and some of the beautiful fruit from Abby'sMom and Dad. She just relaxed in Her favorite chair and had a cozy after-birthday lunch.
She was pretty happy today, even if there was no new party, because one week from now is when Her beloved Mazie will be here. They will go to lunch with Mazie and her Mom, and with Mazie's biggest brother. That brother has a birthday next week, just one week after Hers.
Here is another good thing about Her staying at home today. All that lovely fish came on Tuesday, and She hasn't fixed it yet, because She had party leftovers each day. She intends to fix some tonight, and I will be glad. Of course, Kasey doesn't care. She would never get up on Her shoulder and ask for a taste of Their food. Kasey does not mind eating mine, however. Even though she has her own bowl of kibbles, she still goes and helps herself to mine. No wonder I chase her when she gets up from her nap. Next will be the weekend, and so far there are no plans that would upset me. I think I'll get on Her lap and rest a bit before dinner. Toodle Pip.

More Celebrations

Whew. She had better stay home tomorrow with us. This is the third birthday party this week, and you would think She would be all partied out. But She is not. Oh well. Here is what happened today.. Hana'sGran picked Her up in the morning and they drove a very long way to a beautiful place where they help people who have thinking problems. She likes to go there and see the nice people. She loves Hana'sGran, and would have enjoyed lunch with her anywhere, but H'sG knows what makes Her happy, so that's why they went to this place. She said She had very good soup, and a delicious chicken sandwich. I would have liked some of that, but this time, She didn't bring any home. What She did bring was a big piece of cake that She says should be illegal in five states. Do you know what that means? It is so good that you might do a crime to get a piece. She didn't have to do a crime, because Hana'sGran got it for Her. Kasey and I do not like sweets, so She will have it all to Herself. She also got some funny shows to watch on the TV. She says it was a lovely day, the flowers were beautiful and She got some vegetable stuff for Him.
Her brother, Abby'sDad and Abby'sMom sent her that bouquet made of fruit, and She has eaten so much of it that the rest had to go into a bowl. What a nice family She has. And what wonderful sisters of Her heart. She is all tired out, but is very happy. She even let Katy-Next-Door come in and visit. That was kind of fun. So long for now, everyone.

More Birthday

Here's how today's birthday celebration went. She went to a nice place to eat lunch with Smudge'sMom and Domino'sMom. It was a French place, which She likes very much. Smudge'sMom paid for everything, including some remarkable cake with a lot of creamy stuff on it. All three ladies ate some of the cake, and they all agreed it was a magical cake. She was so glad that Domino'sMom felt good enough to be there, because she had been not feeling good just yesterday. Besides cake, She had Her favorite soup, full of onions and cheese. She also had a little pie with eggs and ham in it, and She brought some of that pie home with Her. She loves to stretch out Her celebrations that way. She got a nice present, as well, which she showed us, and we all agreed it suited Her. Smudge'sMom knows these things.
She found out about another present today. Her beloved OperaGirl also takes beautiful pictures, and She let Her pick one out. Her OG will send it for Her to hang up on the wall, and we can all feel happy when we look at it. She showed me a little picture of it, and Kasey and I would love to lie down and snooze in those flowers. She is chuffed about everyone sending Her birthday good wishes, and - believe it or not - She has another birthday party tomorrow. This time with Hana'sGran. So watch this space for more birthday news tomorrow. Buh-bye.

Birthday Cats

This is what we have all been waiting for. Her Birthday. It started off with lots of snuggles, a good breakfast, complete with butter. Then He gave Her a nice Birthday Card, and She was really chuffed. He hit the jackpot two days in a row with His nice cards. He fixed Her computer, and She had lots of messages from people She loves, and She read every one of them. Then it was time to get ready to go to lunch. Second day this week, but first Birthday lunch. She has a few more lined up. He said He never knew anyone who loved a birthday more than She does. They went to a place She really loves, where Her beloved Crones used to go every week until they changed. She was astonished to see Him order a hamburger, after only eating vegetables for so long. It was amazing to Her. She ordered a nice lunch, and as usual, She brought half of it home. She had chocolate Birthday cake. Cleo'sMom and Cleo'sGirl put candles on it and sang Happy Birthday to Her. It was a perfect lunch, and She will never forget it. Some guy even came up and wished Her a Happy Birthday, and She didn't even know him.
She got lots of Birthday cards, too. I am happy for Her, but my favorite thing is that the fish came today, and it was still nice and frozen, so it won't make us sick. That is really good. I wonder what tomorrow's birthday party will be like. Don't worry, I'll tell you about it. Sy-O-nara.

Love-y Cats

Gee, the humans have a lot of days! Today, for instance, is another Day. She especially loves this day, because it is about love, and She loves love. She woke up wishing Kasey and me to be Her Valentines. I told Her I thought I was Her Valentine, if that means a cat who loves Her. She just chuckled and gave me some pets, and then She fixed our breakfast. Before She even drank Her coffee-the-drink, She found a letter from Him, and She opened it up. It made Her cry, but She says it was because it was so sweet and beautiful. I don't like it when She cries, but if it is from being happy, I guess that is OK.
She had a happy birthday paper from a restaurant that He likes especially well. They went there for their Valentine/Birthday lunch, and got a discount. He makes an enormous salad out of all the vegetables they have there, and She got a big sandwich. She could enjoy it for Their lunch, and bring the rest home for Her dinner. That way, She says, the celebration doesn't end. As far as She is concerned, the celebration should not ever end!
Some of Her Girls do not like Valentines Day, because they think it is about romance. Well, She says it is about love, and it never hurts to be reminded about who loves you and that they are thinking of you. Kasey and I love Them, and we show it in different ways, but They know it is there, and They love us back. No surprises for dinner tonight, but the fish should be here tomorrow. Chow.

Cat -Cestors

It turns out that the country that has been in the news is a very very old country, and She was explaining to us that Cats were considered to be gods in that country. Well, Kasey says she still is a goddess and don't you forget it. It might explain why she has the uppity attitude of hers. As for me, I am just glad that we have other ancestors besides fierce lions and tigers. I don't want to be fierce, even though I have given Her a nip when She wakes me up. My cousin, Lion, who looks like a lion only smaller, would not like to be fierce, either. But he will be glad to know our ancestors were once gods.
I guess She thinks He is a god, as well, because He brought Her a lovely bunch of flowers so She will be His Valentine. They are very nice flowers, and Kasey and I examined them very carefully. In fact, Kasey has already helped Her by trimming a couple of leaves. She didn't want Kasey to get sick, so She chased Kasey away. She got Him something for Valentines Day, but it has to come in the mail. If it doesn't get here in time, He will still be Her Valentine.
He didn't know what to get Her for Her birthday, so She tried to find out how much it would cost to have it work like LW's. It is too complicated, She says. She doesn't need changes to the TV, except that Her beloved Eddie will be in a show next month, on a station She can't see. Oh, well, She says. It will all work out. Naptime now. TTYL

Accounting Cats

Most of our work today was for the lawyers and for the bank. I guess you know They have to account for every penny that was spent by His mother before She can get help to pay for her care. It will be another year before there is a penny for someone to spend on l'ancienne's behalf, because She asked for things and He got them, and didn't keep good records. WELL! That means they have another year to pay the penalties on the money He spent on her behalf and didn't keep notes for. I'll tell you, She is sick of it. She says, Coffs, I hope I live long enough to see this puzzle fixed. Well, I hope She does, too, because She is the best snuggler in the whole world.
The Valentines are coming in, and She is excited. She loves Valentines, but only sent email ones. They have changed their lunch-date from Tuesday to Monday, because that is Valentines Day. I didn't get Them a valentine, but They understand. Lots of people don't get excited about Valentines Day, but that is because they don't have a birthday the next day. She always used to go to the circus on Valentine's Day when She was a little girl, and then go somewhere and eat spaghetti. They didn't serve pizza back then. It was poor people's food She said, made out of leftovers. She sure does love it now. It's everybody's food now. I bet She gets some next week!
And now She doesn't like the circus. She says it's not kind to animals. She wants to show me Her Valentines one more time, so I will have to say Oddy-ose for now.

Sun Out Cats

It made a big difference today, when everything was sunny out, and not freezing. We all had a bunch of energy that we had almost forgot. After our butter and newspaper, we checked in with our computer pals. At least She did, because I couldn't make Her leave the computer to me, even though I lay on the keyboard and snuggled under Her chin. It was OK, though, because She got dressed in outside clothes and went to the store. She had not been to the store in a bunch of days, and She told Him She hopes She remembers how to drive. He knew that was a joke. She had to mail a little package to one of Her Girls, and then She went to a store where She has a gift card. She sure loves those gift cards.
He and She were both chuffed because a country very far away got rid of their bad people and want to make a country of nice, smart people like our President is. Let's not dance just yet, though, She said. A long time ago She visited a country where they did that, and everyone was happy and dancing, because they got rid of the crooks. But then the new people would not be friends with our country, and it turned out very sad. She doesn't think that will happen this time, but She is waiting to dance the happy dance.
Mostly it was a good day, and next week will be a busy week for Her. She misses Her Eddie friends, though. And Eddie, too. What is he up to, She wants to know. I will go and give her extra snuggles and a massage. Toodles.

Tired of Cold Cats

Kasey and I never have to go outside. You would think it doesn't matter to us about the weather, wouldn't you. But we live with two humans, and the weather is bothering Them, and when They are bothered, we notice it. Besides worrying about him driving on ice, She has to worry about what the weather will be like next week. One thing She always tells everyone is don't worry about things that may never happen. She starts out thinking that, and pretty soon She checks Her calendar, and whe what ifs just pop up. So many lovely people are sick and hurting, and She can't keep sending soup, although She would like to. At least His mother isn't calling every five minutes. I guess the people where she lives tell her it is too bad weather for Him to come over. He says the roads are OK, so He is going to His meeting tonight.
Her MSGirl has gone to another country to get more things called stem cells, which are helping with her MS. We are very excited because with these new cells she can cross her legs and wiggle her toes. It doesn't sound big, but it is, because MSGirl couldn't do those easy things before. Why do they have to go out of the country, is what She wonders. She is going to write some letters to see if She can find out.
Well, that's all for now. We won't get fish until next week, so we will have to check for what's for dinner. See you tomorrow.

Another Strange Day

There is not much that She cares about more than Her beloved Crones, but Her lunch with them got to be a victim of the weird weather. It was not so cold when we got up, but She knew right away that the weather would be a problem. It was pouring down rain, and it was getting colder by the minute. Smudge'sMom checked in and told Her that driving was treacherous, and it hadn't even turned to ice yet. The weather guy said ice was coming, so She and Smudge'sMom decided to postpone. Trouble is, next week isn't good for everyone, so Her Crones are pretty much a washout. Or a icy-rain out. Well, next week's plans are doing better. If the weather is clear and Hana'sGran is feeling fine, She will have lunch with her, and since He got a $5.00 off paper, She will eat lunch with Him next week as well. She is meeting Cleo'sMom for coffee-the-drink, as well. Also, it won't be long before They see Her beloved Mazie He says She needs a secretary to keep track of Her busy life, but She told me He was just joking. That's good, because I don't want another stranger in the family.
It wasn't exactly gloomy here, but it was not the happy day She had hoped for. She said we had to make the best of it, and She showed me some pictures of where there was lots of snow. She says we're lucky, and I see why. She is going out on Friday, if all is well, because She needs to send a package to one of Her Eddie-grandchildren. I hope tomorrow is a good day. Nighty-night.

Covered in Cats

It has been a snuggly kind of day, which started with some good news. A while ago, She decided to part with some of her precious money and buy some fish at a bargain price. Here's what happened. The fish were supposed to come on last Friday, but with all that ice on the road, the delivery guy couldn't bring it. It finally came about 8 PM last nji9ght, and all the cool was gone out of the big box. She said She was afraid to give us that fish, because it might be spoiled. She wrote a polite letter to the fish-selling company and told them what happened. They said She was right, that the fish might make us sick. They told Her to throw it out and that they would send a whole new bunch of fish, which will arrive next Tuesday. We all know what day THAT is! We will get a whole new box full of fish, and She won't have to pay any more money for it. She is chuffed.
They are gathering up papers for the people who are taking care of His mother, so that when the debts are paid, L'ancienne can keep on getting care. His mother doesn't know what day it is or anything about the frozen weather. His mother's mind is empty. Here is what She said. If I ever get like that, just take me to the vet and have them put me to sleep. He says She can't do that, but She made me promise. That will not happen, He says, because She works crossword puzzles every day.
I will go and climb back up on Her so She will be covered in A cat, at least. She loves that. More news tomorrow, after Crones.

Life Story Cats

Guess what She wants to do. She wants to write Her life story. She wants to make a book about how She remembers things and people and inventions and cats. It is OK with me, as long as She doesn't hog this computer all the time, because my stories are very important. There are people who don't know what is happening at our house, except for my stories. Of course, most of Her friends know that it is Eddie's birthday today, but how many know whose birthday is next week, hmmm? How many people know that Her MusicGuy has a birthday this month, too - and Mazie's biggest brother. She won't put that in Her stories, I bet. Well, if She wants to write about what She remembers, before She forgets everything, I guess I have to let Her.
She had fun today, trying to send Her Eddie a birthday card by email. She had a conversation with Cleo'sDad on this computer, too. She read about Her beloved OperaGirl, and how hard she has to work, and about LW'sBrother getting annoyed with the school. She ate some of Her M&Ms until She didn't feel like eating lunch, then She put them away where She wouldn't keep seeing them. I told Her to do that, because I am a very clever cat. Here is my big news. When She put out 4 treats for Kasey, I ate them before Kasey came back. (snerk) I have not eaten treats before, but they were actually quite tasty. I may have to rethink this treats business. I'll tell you how that goes when I TTYL.

Super Cats

The weather is OK for a big football game, and it is on lots of minds. You know Her, and that She doesn't care about football, but She knows it is big business. To listen to Her, She says that is what's wrong with these knock-down-and-pummel-sports. But She is not disgusted enough with it that She doesn't want others to have fun. She says the best news is that Her Sunday shows won't be startng late for a bunch of months.
She visited with a lot of folks today, and told Her Crones to remember lunch this week. Sabra'sMom reminded Her that she was going to another country and would not be there at the lunch. Her OperaGirl sent Her some nice pictures, and She reminded people that it would be Eddie's birthday tomorrow. She also counted 19 days until She sees Her Mazie. There was a lot of information flying around today, and it gave Her some pep. There is nothing like a good day of sharing with friends, Coffs, She told me.
Speaking of sharing, Katy'sMom has done it again. K'sM brought over a big pot of nice food, and it made Her quite chuffed. I didn't get to see it, but She told me I could have a bite of Her dinner. I will not make a mean face at Katy for a few days, because her mom brought such nice food. I am kind of thirsty now, so I will chase Kasey away from the silver bowl on the table and have a nice drink. I think the water is OK now. Bye for now.

Ho Hum Cats

It was a very quiet day around here. There was something hinkey with the water this morning but it seems OK now. We had bottled water, because the regular water looked funny. If our pipes froze, we shouldn't have all this water in the right places. At leas that's what He says. She told me the pipes have broken 2 times since they moved to this house. Oh, no, She says. Not again. But He told us there is nothing we can do until we know for sure. She assured us we would not be in danger, but I went into the closet anyway. He went to see His mother and said the roads are not frozen any more. She ate the last of Her pizza from the other night. I shared some of it with Her, and She says I'm an Italian cat, the way I went after that pizza.
So not much to tell you about today, so I'll make my story kind of short. I have to go cheer Her up because She is lonesome for news about Her beloved Eddie, and about Her Grandchildren. I told Her that I would give Her a nice massage, and maybe the mail guy will bring Her something nice.
There will be more to tell you tomorrow, so I'll say chow for now, bellas.

Grumbly Cats

Well, foo. I still haven't seen snow. We were told to expect a whole bunch of snow and ice and nasty slush. When we woke up, there was no snow, and it looked the same as any winter morning. When He went out to feed the birds, He said the grass was all covered in ice, but you couldn't tell from in here. And She saw on the news that cars were running into each other by the dozens. I guess it wasn't a waste of emergency closing of schools and stuff, but We were ready for a bushel of trouble, and just got a cupful. It was smart to stay home, but you could not call it an adventure. I think people who have a bunch of snow are laughing at us.
Never mind that. We kept busy around the house. She had Her leftover pizza to cheer her up, and He makes sure there are always plenty of kibbles. Our electric stuff stayed on, and She could play on the computer. I helped Her with that until She went to do some other stuff, and I curled up in a comfy chair. Kasey was pretty lively, and played with her fish, which has bells on it. What They wondered was if they would be able to play that big football game they talk about. Right now, airports are closed. What if the players can't get here? What if they can't get rid of all the ice? She doesn't care a flip about football games, but this one is a big deal, and if they can't have it, our state will look really bad. I'll let you know how it turns out. Oddy-ose for now.

Snow Cats

This is HUGE! Kasey and I have never seen snow, and the weather guy says it is going to snow tonight. They are both worried about driving, because you need different skills to drive in snow and ice. They are not going to risk driving, so He is staying home from his class tonight. You can't believe how excited everyone here is about snow and ice. It was about five years since there was even a flake of snow, and it didn't stick on the ground. He says it will stick this time, because the weather has been so cold for three days. Do you know what would be fun? If He lets Kasey go outside in the snow, just to see what it's like. She says that would be mean, but I think it would teach the little rascal a lesson, and she wouldn't keep wanting to go out. We could feel the excitement in the air, and we raced around like oofties all day. It always makes Her laugh when we do that. You would never guess we are a couple of lazy-bones cats. Well, we will get plenty of rest, because both laps will be in place tonight.
She has earned a night of rest, because She finished making the papers for Their tax. She still has to do His mother's tax, but She is tired of tax right now. And She is having Her pizza tonight. She planned on having it when He was at His class, but since He will stay home, She will fix it anyway, because, well, She can't wait one more day for it. She says it is lucky that He is so dedicated to His vegetables, and so nice to Her. We are lucky here at this house, even if it snows. TTYL.

Strange Event Cats

Everything was going fine this morning. The coffee was made and She was getting ready to make Her toast when - Surprise - all the lights went off. We were very puzzled because there was no bad weather, except that it was really, truly cold. She tried to give me cold butter, but I did not care for that, and after one finger, I left. Pretty soon the lights came back on, the toaster worked, and we were back on schedule. He and She were both puzzled by the lights thing, but when She read what people said on Her computer, it turns out that the electric people where we live decided to shut off the electric every couple of hours to save on electricity. It is always good to find out an answer, isn't it? It came off and on a few times, which was annoying, but it was small compared to all the trouble going on around the other places. She showed me pictures of lots of ice and snow. He saw that there was lots of ice on the place where there is supposed to be a big football game pretty soon. We all hoped the ice would go away for that. I guess it is a big deal.
She had a lot of fun talking to her computer friends when everything was working. And She was glad that She went to the store yesterday. This was a good day to be cozy at home. We are not used to being cold, you know. I'll go check on what They are doing. It's almost time for dinner. Poodle Tip. (Get it?)

New Month Cats

We are so excited about this new month that we ran around the house like things that run around houses! I jumped up and got some extra snuggles, I had several fingers of butter, and I made a mean face at a cat that wandered into our yard. That cat looked a lot like me, is what He said, but I looked in the mirror and I am much finer looking than that strange cat. Yesterday it was nice and sunny and just like a Spring day. Today it was freezingly winter, but we were lucky, because She read to us about ice and snow storms all around the place. It was a nice day to stay in and snuggle with your cat, in my opinion, but She felt like She had better go to the store before it got rainy. It was nice and sunny, but She said it was really freezing outside. She got a good parking place, She told him. She saw one of Her friends at the store, and they had a little chat before She got all Her stuff and came home. She loves to see people and chat. So She is all stocked up, and doesn't have to go back out in the cold if She doesn't want to.
The candy people came out with a new kind of Snickers, and She got some and tried it. She reports that it is a winner. As if Snickers needs to be better, She said, and went (snerk). She told Kasey and me what lucky cats we are that we don't have to go out in the cold, and that we don't like Snickers. I told her that I was plenty tempted by fish, but She said it's not the same. Well, Kasey is already tired from running around and is have a nap. I believe I will do the same, while She fixes Her dinner. So long, friends.
