Grateful Cats

There is a lot of trouble going on in a place very far away. Farther even than where Her Eddie lives. It is making Them very sad to know about these things. She said there was a bad thing called an earthquake. When the earth quakes, the water get all shakey and goes into the land in a big wall, and when that happened this time, lots of things got washed away. It as if the land got power-washed, and everything got ruined. So many people died in that water that they haven't even counted everyone yet. She says thousands. And guess what! As if that isn't bad enough, the water broke the buildings where this country gets its power. He says it is atomic power, which is very dangerous. When it works right, it is excellent, but when something goes wrong, it is this: a disaster. She says the people who live in the country where that happened have real problems. If She feels like whining because She doesn't have a lot of money, or if Her joints are achey, or if Kasey gacks up a hairball on the bed, She says She should feel ashamed of Herself, because our house didn't get washed away, or our cars, or our cats, or our cousins. We are very lucky people and cats, Coffs, She says. We have given lots of extra snuggles since this happened. She remembers what Her beloved Grandma used to say - Count your blessings. And help however you can. We start by counting our blessings, and loving each other. And you, too.
