Mourning Cats

Today was all about trying not to cry. You see, our very dear CousinLion, who lives in NYC with his Mom and Brother, Nick, has been sick. We all sent love and energy to him, but Lion died last night. It made us feel so bad that we didn't feel much like playing all day. People think cats don't feel sadness and grief, but I'm here to tell you we do. We mourned when we lost our CousinCleo, and we will be almost as sad when our CousinKaty moves away, or goes to a new home. We cried when our Cousin Deena died. You know, even Kasey feels sad when these things happen.  She has been grieving about all these losses. We have to mourn for a while, and then She tells us to stop thinking about the loss, and what we will miss, and remember the fun things, and the stories we have heard about these beloveds. I am just not ready to do that yet about Lion, but when I feel better, I will remember how much joy he brought to our OperaGirl, and how She said he looked just exactly like a lion.   It hurts our hearts to feel sad, and we will mourn until we get over it. Be ready for more cheerful news tomorrow. Bye, Lion. Bye, everyone.
