Happy New Year Cats

I could have said puzzled cats, because I wrote my story yesterday, and it didn't get on my list of stories!It is too late to help that now, so I will just go on and tell about today. This is New Year's Eve, and it is also Cleo's Girl's birthday. He and She are going to have dinner with Cleo's Girl and her family. That is Their family, too, and they are going to a place where He can get His vegetables. Then They will come home and play with us until the clock says midnight, and then
They will have something nice to drink and give each other a smooch. (snerk)
They don't go out to other parties, because They don't like to be around people who drink other stuff. She says there is stuff that makes your thinking all fuzzy, and She says they don't drive well like that.
Here's something that has Her singing - In just three weeks, She and Smudge's Mom will be far away, and they will see Her beloved Eddie. Smudge and his sibs and Kasey and I will be waiting waiting waiting for them to come back. She will be all happy when that happens, so I will be happy too. Kasey won't care.
For now, I will stop puzzling about what happened to yesterday's story, and wish you all a Happy New Year. Chow.

Chilled Cats

It is very cold and damp today. I can tell from when She opened the door. I got into a comfy place and yowed for Her to stay in here! Do you know what He found? Katy's husband was hiding in our bushes, to stay out of the rain. He was waiting for his food. Then He told Her that He believes that we now have 3 cats. Kasey says he had better not try to bring his loud noise and bushy tail in here! I reminded her that Katy's husband has claws, but she just said hmph and went back to sleep. She has already made a mean face at K'sH, and he does not try to come in anymore.
But Katy's Mom did come over, and brought Her some good things to eat. They were all for Her, because He can't eat meat. It makes Her feel very nice to have some delicious food that She doesn't have to fix for Herself.
We spent a lot of time today looking at pictures. Her Opera Girl has some She looked at for a long time, and Her Michigan Girl had family pictures to show. LW's Mom showed pictures of the new room Santa made for LW and her sibs. Did you know She was worried about LW because of her little eyes? The eyes didn't look right to Her, but She didn't want to upset LW's Mom and Dad, so She didn't talk about it. Turns out LW needs glasses, like She has! That's good news after all that LW has been through.

Peculiar Cats

Do you remember when I told you about my hiding place in the closet? Well, today I decided not to go in there! When She didn't see me in the closet, She looked all over, and that is when She spotted Kasey sleeping in some clothes that He had left on the bedroom chair! What's gotten into you two, She said. Maybe it's the catnip in the Christmas toys. Maybe it's something in the air. Maybe - let's face it - we are just peculiar cats. We love Him and Her very much, but we don't want them to figure out everything about us. They might get a funny idea about who's the boss around here. I gave that advice to our cousin, Smudge, and he seems to be getting the upper paw over there. And our New York cousins, Nick and Lion have a handle on things. They have taught their Opera Girl how to take magnificent pictures, and today She told Him She wants to go to New York next Christmas. Kasey and I will see that doesn't happen, so don't worry.
We heard that our music guy got knocked down while walking his d-o-g. She knows what it is to fall down, and She felt very bad about that. Kasey said that's what he gets for having a d-o-g, but She told Kasey that wasn't very nice. Kasey didn't care.
Now that She doesn't expect it, I am going into the closet for a nap. Cheery-bye.

Literary Cats in Trouble

My cousin Smudge got into trouble about his stories, and I am in trouble today, too. Let me tell you about it. One thing She likes to do is work puzzles, so She has the puzzle books and some pencils by Her favorite chair. The pencils - there are a lot of them - She keeps in a cup, so they don't roll off the table. (Ahem). You see, She thought they just rolled off by themselves. She didn't realize that somecat was pushing them. Actually, I think She is on to me now. She found pencils pulled out of the cup, and some of them had their erasers chewed off. Here's the thing. I just can't help it. Yes, I am the one who did it, and after I tried to tell Her it was Kasey, She looked right in my eyes and said Coffee, I don't believe you. There was nothing to do but admit it. Smudge confessed at his house right away, but he is young yet. Not me. I blamed Her for leaving temptations where I could get them so easily.
Luckily, She went to have coffee-the-drink with Mable's Mom, and when She came home She was not mad anymore. She says She will put Her pencils in a box now. That proves it was at least partly Her fault. Right?
Did you hear that? He just put new water in my bowl. I'm going to have a big drink. TaTa for now.

Twitter Cat

I can't keep frome laughing! Today, while She was eating leftover party food, I came in and went on Her Twitter (snerk). It gave me a chance for a shout-out to all my cousins, all over the palce! Some of them even Twittered me back. Kasey said it would never work, but I did it, and I'm glad!
Lately, I have been very comfy in the closet in Their room. There is a box in there, and He has put a cozy blanket on it, and it makes a little nook. He made it when our cousins have come over, and I wanted a place to hide until I felt safe. I can't really remember, but something make me very scared before They came to get me, and some of that scared has stayed with me all this time. I don't need to be scared here, but I love my little closet place just the same.
Since I have found out that my cousin Smudge can use the computer, and now I know that cats where Her Opera Girl lives can write notes for me, I may go on Twitter again sometime. I'll have to do some tweaking to my training program so that She knows to leave things hooked up.
Do you know what She has now? Something called sammon moose, and it smells divine! I must go and make a hungry face, so She gives me some! Toodle Pip

Christmas Cats

Excuse me if I seem a little annoyed on this lovely day, but I was looking so forward to telling you about the Christmas Eve/Birthday events, and then She goes off and turns off the computer, so I couldn't write my story. Today I sat on the mousepad, so She couldn't shut off, and so I can fill in some details. Both of them were groaning when they got home, following the 7 Fishes Dinner and the birthday party. Even if He couldn't eat the fishes, Their family had a lot of food that he could (and DID) eat. They were loaded down with presents when They got home, and just collapsed. They kept saying to each other wasn't that a wonderful time?
Even though They had a great time Christmas Eve/Birthday, They knew They would enjoy dinner with LW's family today. LW's Mom is an amazing cook, and she made sure that He got plenty of things he was allowed to eat. He can't stop talking about it, and She is so delighted for Him, not just for the good things today, but the good things LW's Mom sent home with Him. You should have heard Him! You would have thought He won the Lotto!
So Christmas is over, and we just have one or two things to still give out. Deena's Mom and Katy's Mom, and then we can start thinking about the next thing. That will be Cleo's Girl's birthday, and then a new year. I feel much better now. I love to write my stories. Here's what She said: Fleas novvy dodd.

MovieCats

This was an extremely pleasant day. because we all had our chores to do, and then we watched some movies. These were movies that were on TV, and He said they were really old movies. After awhile, She watched movies, too. She talked on the phone some, but She did not go away in the car. She was tickled pink that they could sit together and see these old movies, except They both kept saying that They couldn't remember the names of the people in the movie. That's what happens when you get old, you know. He and She had seen all of these movies when they were much younger, but it was as if They had not seen them. This is how I pictured being retired, She said. Kasey did a funny thing, too. Kasey went where They were watching the movies and went to sleep on the couch, right by them! Kasey never does that. I believe she thought she was retired, too. Luckily, I was alert, and made sure everyone was safe.
Cleo's people are going to make dinner for them tomorrow, on His birthday, and Mable's Mom and Boy will be there, too. We all miss Cleo. This will be hard to have Christmas/Birthday without her.
They are through watching movies, and I suppose I can rest now. They tracked in leaves from outside though, and someone has to stalk them. If you think Kasey will do it, think again. So I will tell you more tomorrow. Addy-ose.

Brookwood Cats

Today She went to a place kind of far way, called The Brookwood Cafe. She told us all about it and showed us pictures. She and Her beloved Crones go there two times every year, because it is very special. There are a lot of people who are not good at thinking, and they stay there at Brookwood, and learn to do jobs. It is more than a nice place for lunch, She says. It is a way to help those people. Not too many Crones were able to go there today, but She said it was a quality group. While they had lunch, She saw the lady who started Brookwood, and her daughter, who worked with Her long ago,before we were even born. It made Her emotional, She said, and the food was really good. She brought soome home, like She does, but He can't share it with her, because it is meat. She is a little sad about that, but as long as He is getting better, She just has to get used to it.
Everyone is so busy for these days before Christmas that She is glad to be able to just go along and read and work Her puzzles. She gets a lot of spirit out of reading what her friends and family are doing, She says. He has His mother to care for, so that makes Him go out in traffic, and His mother does not seem to remember how many times He goes to see her. It makes Her shake Her head, but He is a good son.
You will have to excuse me now, because I have some tissue paper to stalk. Kasey pushed it down on the floor. TaTa.

Cat Cousins

Kasey and I have lots of cat-cousins. Some live next door, Like Katy. Some live kind of far, like Smudge, and some live very very far away, where Her Eddie lives. That cousin likes to get on his dad's head! We have never done that. I guess that cousin has not trained his dad as well as we have trained Them. I shall have to send him some advice.
What She has said about today is that it's a jackpot day. Do you know what that means? They got four packages today, just in this one day. They got a bokay made of fruit from Abby's Mom and Dad, They got some books, and They got a wonderful package from Smudge's Mom and Dad. I heard Her tell Him that They made out like bandits. If you know what that means, please tell me, because it doesn't sound like a good thing to me, and yet They are smiling big smiles.
Since He didn't get His spaghetti on Saturday, She is cooking some for Him tonight. Even if She had some spaghetti yesterday, She could eat it every day! It is no use to want to get thin, like Kasey, She says. Anyway,, Grandmas are supposed to look like dumplings. I have seen dumplings, and She does look like that. He says He loves Her just like She is. It's a good thing, She says.
I am going to look around in the boxes now, to see if there is anything for cats. Cheery-bye.

Celebration Cats

This was a wonderful day! I didn't miss any of my jumps, and They were home almost all day, which I really like, and They gave each other beautiful cards to say happy birthday to Their wedding. She told me it has been 34 years since their wedding day. They must like that, because They were all snuggly about it. The part She and He like the most is having a celebration with Smudges Mom and Dad. They went to a nice placfe where He could get His vegetables, and everyone else could get what they wanted. She was tickled pink about the place, and about seeing Smudge's People, especially. Smudge and his people are very special to all of us. Smudge told me he reads my stories, and I said he should write some, too. He is very smart, kind of like me, and I think he learned to write stories at his house. Smudge's Mom gave Them a ticket to get a nice kind of cake, and it made tears get in Her eyes. She also got some things to put on Her magic bracelet. So it was a wonderful day, all right, and Kasey and I celebrated with Them, by drinking water from the silver cup, having kibbles, and I got my butter and Kasey got her treats. The next big day will be when Her beloved Crones have lunch together.
I must check and see if Smudge wrote a story, the way I told him to. Chow.

Embarrassed Cat!

This is so hard to tell you, because my feelings are very hurt. Two times today I had trouble. Once, when I jumped up on the back of Her office chair, where I go to get my brushing, and once at the soft couch-top where I prefer to have my naps. First, I jumped up on Her chair to get on Her shoulder for my brushing, I slid off the back of the chair and fell down. I was between Her and the chair, and I scratched Her up pretty badly trying to regain my balance. She wanted to console me, but I was so ashamed of myself I ran away. Later, while She was eating lunch, I went to jump up on the back of the couch - I have done it a million times - and I missed, and fell right down on the floor. This time I did go to Her for pets, but I felt so sad I could hardly purr.
Anyway, They went off to where Apache's girls live because there was a party there, and I just went into Their closet and hid. I didn't even want to come out when They came home. She acted like nothing was wrong and started telling me about the party, which was delightful, She said, but I still didn't come out until just now. I know She thinks I am too fat to jump up, but I heard Her tell Him that we might need to see a vet. Oh, NO! Not a vet! I will be very careful from now on.
One funny thing - He had so much vegetables and pasta at the party that He doesn't want His spaghetti tonight. He asked Her to make it on Monday this time! Bye Bye now.

Checking Cats

They have been getting a lot of mail and messages from people, and I like to check each thing to see what it's about. I turns out that a lot of people send pictures of cats, and Kasey and I like those the most, although She makes little noises about all of them. Sometimes She says awww, and She always has Him look at each one. It is nice to get messages from Her friends, who are all family to Her and Him. Sometimes people write little letters with their picture messages. She always reads those out loud.This time of year, She says, messages come about Christmas, the birthday of Their wedding, and His birthday. They all come at once, and the messages make her very happy. We are glad to check them for Her.
Today He went to see a movie that He feels very special about. She did not go, but when He came home, She could see that He liked that movie, and He is going to see it again with Cleo's girls. It makes Her happy to see Him interested in His strange movies. She says it is how She thinks of Him!
She has received pictures of Her Eddie, from the Opera Girl and the Photo Girl. Here's what She says - These are MY kids!
Kasey visited Her on Her desk today, and She thinks it is because Kasey is starting to like Her. Can you say treats? (snerk)She is so fooled! Well, more things to check. TTYL

Funny Cats

When She gets on Her computer, She likes to look at pictures of cats. There are all kinds of funny cats on the computer, and they sometimes have sayings on them as if the cats are talking. The cats that write these are terrible spellers. She has taught me better spelling than that. Well, She laughs at those cats and still, She says, they are not as funny as Kasey and me. How about when I put my paws on her face and massage her face. Doesn't that seem funny? And when Kasey finds even the smallest piece of something soft, she will fit herself on it. When She puts Her soft, pink robe on the bed, and Kasey rushes to get on it...........or when I jump in the air when the toaster pops up. Those things are funnier than the computer cats. But here's the thing. LW'sMom gave Them a camera - the kind that can make our pictures go on the computer, but He keeps it with His equipment, and by the time He goes to get it, we have stopped being funny. One of these days, She says, there will be pictures of Coffee and Kasey on the computer, and I promise you, you will laugh. And the spelling will be better.
A bunch of Their Christmas cards have cat pictures on them, too. People sure know They like cats.

Massage Cat

One thing I like to do is to give Her a massage. For instance, when She finishes Her lunch and works on her puzzle book, I get up on her lap and give her a little massage with my paws. She puts down Her pencil, and gives me some pets. Today, I lay down across Her chest and put my paws on Her face, then I massaged Her face. For some reason, that made Her laugh, so I went back to massaging Her tummy. I guess She was laughing because She was happy, and not because She thought I was silly.
She went to get a few things today, and it was all She could do not to buy more things for the Alphas and Cleo's People. He told Her to stop getting things, or people would be tired of Her presents. I can't help it, She told Him. When I see something that will tickle them pink, I want them to have it. Well, that's good, He said, but save some things for later. She said that would be OK. It is lucky Her Eddie-friends, including Eddie don't come over for Christmas, or She would not have enough money left to buy kibbles! (snerk)
She is looking for me, so I guess She forgives me for that one little bite I gave Her after the massage. Cheery-bye.

We Learn Things

We learned something important today. Lots of Her friends have colds or something else wrong, and She says we should learn from this that taking good care of yourself is an important job. Kasey and I pay attention when She wants us to learn something because we know it is easier than having Her tell us again! She will do that, you know. She says you can take the teacher out of the classroom, but you can't make her stop teaching! Some of Her friends are sick. One is the beautiful Opera girl. Luckily, she waited until she got back from her trip far away to get sick. But She is also sad that Her Eddie has a cold. He has to do a show every night, even when he feels pew, because lots of people have bought tickets.
Well, He is not exactly sick, but He takes some medicine that makes his hands shake. He told the doctor He wants to quit this medicine, but the doc told Him that it might be bad for His thinking problem. Remember when He had that? I have never seen Her so sad as when that happened. He decided it was easier to have shaky hands than to have Her be sad. She told Him that Her hads shake, too, and always have, so They are a perfect match. Just be careful when you eat soup!
I believe I saw Katy's husband in the back yard. I will go check that out, because She doesn't want him scaring the birds. I will make a mean face at him. Chow.

Monday Cats

Today has been a fine day, for a Monday. Mondays start busy days and weeks for Them. I like a rather quiet day, myself, so I can rest up for evening activities: Kibbles, sharing Her dinner, chasing Kasey, and watching TV with Her. I guess She is in full preparing mode, because interesting bags and boxes are appearing everywhere. She puts the presents in shopping bags to help save trees. She has several things to put in each bag, so She is saving a lot of paper. I don't like that, not because of the paper, but because everyone gets all their gifts at once! Waiting to get your packages is lots of fun. She says Yes it's fun, but it wastes paper, so we will just have to be strong!Do you think She is teasing me?
Katy's Mom has trouble with her car, so She got to go with K'sM to get Katy's girl and boy from their schools. It was really a pleasant trip, and She was glad to help. Katy's Mom is having a lot of bad luck in these days before Christmas. It would make Her happy if all these troubles got fixed.
This morning, He took some more books for Mazie's Mom to the Post Office.
I hear some meowing at our front door. It must be Katy's husband. Now He will take him some kibbles, and I will go and eat mine. TTYL

Church Cats

Today She was excited to go to Her church, because She knew She would see LW and the Alpha-girls. They make Her heart feel good. It seems She decided to stay for a big meeting, because She likes this president better than some of the others, but when She came home, She told Him that it had been a mistake. She was disappointed by the meeting, because it made her feel like it is not Her church anymore. I'll just stay home, She said, and have church here with my cats! That doesn't mean She didn't like seeing the children. She does love those children, alright!
In fact, you may remember when She went to a party for a sweet girl who was having a baby. Well, the baby came, but the new Mom had a hard time. I think the doctors had made a couple of mistakes, and the new Mom almost died! She thinks it was lucky that they caught the mistakes in time - and She is really hoping they did - because the new Mom and her mother are very special to Her. She told us to purr very loudly for them, so that they will have good luck. She was glad to tell Him that the new baby is OK. That's the good news in that story.
I am planning to go and get on the back of the sofa and have a nice nap. It is soft and comfy, and the best thing is that you can't see how much hair I leave up there (snerk). Toodle Pip

Cats Stay Home

There was a lot of driving today. The party She went to was far away. It was as far as Mazie's old house from here, only going the other way. There was lots of traffic, and She ran into a roadblock, so She couldn't get on the road She needed. It made Her kind of anxious, because She knew She would be quite late. She hates to be late. It crossed Her mind to go back home, but She really loves Mazie's new sister, so She kept going. There were a lot of presents for the bride to open, but what She gave was Her old cookbook from when She was first married. It was pretty shabby, in my opinion, but the new sister liked it just fine. There was a lot of delicious food, as well, but She didn't bring any home. The new sister's Mom kept bringing her things to eat. When it was time to go home, She could hardly see, She said. There was a lot of fog, which means it is hard to see. She said it was because they were close to the water down there. I'm glad Kasey and I could stay home. It sounds really hard to go far like that.
Tomorrow She will see LW, She thinks, so She has a lot to smile about. Lots of things to do to get ready for presents. I will help! So long for now.

Fast Days

The packages are in the mail, and so are the cards. She only sends a few cards to special friends. Sometimes they are funny cards, and sometimes they are useful cards, with a recipe or something. Or sometimes they are computer cards that are very, very special. You see, She doesn't make a lot of Christmas. She likes the music, She says, and She likes the excuse to get things for the children, but She is not churchy about Christmas. I heard Her tell Him that you can't deny that there is something in the air. She thinks about the first day of winter, and then Spring is coming. But days are fast now. There are parties and dinners and places to be. That makes time go fast. One thing She says is that time goes faster now that She is old. But it is also nice to be old, She says. It is time to turn the hard work over to younger people. Even when that puts tears in Her eyes, She still believes it.
So tonight They will have a nice dinner and watch some TV. They usually have some popcorn and root beer, the kind without sugar, so each night is a kind of party here! Kasey and I are all rested up for an evening of sharing Her dinner and snoozing on laps. Or in Kasey's case, on a soft blue blanket. More news tomorrow. Keep warm.

Cats Keep Going

We got a lot done today, because we would not let Her get away from business. If She stopped working, I would climb on Her and lie on Her keyboard so that She had to keep going. Her job today was getting the packages ready to mail to Mazie, and to LW's people who live far away. She had a package for Abby's Dad, as well. It is a pillow that says I smile because you're my brother. I laugh because there is nothing you can do about it. It is fun for Her to have a brother after all these years. When I was born, I had brothers and sisters, but I didn't get to know them very well. Kasey is my only sister now. We make Them laugh, because it seems as if we are fighting, but it is just for play. Kasey is so funny when we play, but most of the time she is rude.
A friend of Hers that is an opera singer sent Her a CD of the opera, and She was tickled pink. The opera girl also sent some pictures. The girl is very smart, and can do lots of things, not just sing opera. One day, She says, She will meet the opera girl in person. We like her, too, because she likes cats. That is a friendly way to be. Sometimes She just thinks of all the different kinds of friends She has, and it makes Her smile.

A Lesson for She and He

It seems as if She has learned Her lesson about eating too much when She goes to have lunch with Her beloved Crones. She told Him that The food is lovely, and there is so much to choose, but it is not worth it to feel so bad that She needs an Alka Seltzer! She mostly had enough to eat, but stopped before She ate too, too much. She still was full at supper time, but She just ate a small dinner. I am proud of Her that She learned that. I don't like it when She feels sick, or can't talk.
Remember I told you yesterday that He went to get hypnotized? He wanted to learn something, too. He wanted to be hypnotized so He could read faster. I guess you know He has what She used to teach. She said it is dys - something, and He has learned so much even so. The hypnotizing lady was very good, He said, and gave Him a tape to use to help Him every day. He reads a lot, and we think He reads OK, but it only matters what He thinks. I don't know how to read, but I still can sniffle things and find things.
Well, I guess it is time for me to go and look out the window to see if Katy is around here. This morning Katy was in our back yard, and looked in the window at Kasey and me. I wonder if she is back. Addy-ose

Moving On Cats

It just doesn't work for us to be so sad that we can't keep going. We have to move on, give our massages and snuggles, get our pets and kibbles. When you feel like just lying around, like I did yesterday, you don't start to feel better. When She woke up this morning, She said We have to keep on going, Coffs. We need to be thankful for what we have, not what we have lost. She read that in a book. We neet to put one paw in front of the other and move toward all the busy times ahead. Just think, there is a party for Mazie's new sister on Saturday, and then Deena's boy will get his degree. That means he doesn't have to go to school any more, if he doesn't want to! And Apache's girl is having a celebration. We have Their wedding's birthday, and Smudge's Mom and Dad's wedding's birthday, and then His Birthday, and then Smudges Dad's birthday! We do NOT have time to lie around! Yes, we can still feel sad about Cleo, but she would not want us to let all these good things go by, now, would she.
Guess where He went today. To get hypnotized. That sound like so much fun. I'll let you know if there is anything to report tomorrow. I have to go and get a big drink of water, now. Good night.

Cats Can Cry

We are too sad today, too sad to play, or stalk, or ask for treats. Do you know why? Our cousin Cleo died today. We had fun with Cleo, and she didn't scare us or chase us or bark at us. She DID eat some of our food, but I think that was because They give us nice food, and Cleo was trying to be friendly and share. When Cleo's Mom called this morning, She started to cry. That made us so sad, because She is usually the cheerful one. I tried to make her feel better. I got up on Her and gave Her snuggles, but I was not too good at it, because I felt just as bad. Kasey came and got very close to Her face. I think Kasey would have licked her tears away, that's how bad she felt. Kasey just doesn't do that - but she was this close!
She went to the vet's with Cleo's Mom, so they could make each other feel better. Here was the hardest part: Cleo died on her own before She and Cleo's Mom got there. She said that Cleo didn't want to put them through the hurt of saying goodbye to her face. The vet gave Cleo's Mom a piece of something with Cleo's paw print on it, so she can always remember Cleo. We don't need anything to remember Cleo. We won't forget our d-o-g cousin. Rest in peace, Cleo.

Family Cat

Both of Them went to hear LW'sMom give a nice talk this morning, and They both told us it was brilliant. LW'sMom is going to be a great minister. That is someone who helps people understand their spirits. Cats don't need ministers, because we know all about our speirits already. People aren't so lucky. When She came home, Her spirit was nice and warm, because She held LW on Her lap, and LW's sisters sat beside Her - one on each side.
After that, They ate lunch with Mable'sMom. M'sM doesn't feel so good, because she is full of aches and pains that don't go away. The medicine that she takes helps a little, so she will stick with it, and see how she feels in a few weeks. Poor Mable'sMom.
Then, Deena's Mom came over with a wonderful gift! It is something that all the kids will enjoy. That is the best kind of gift, because it gives so much fun to others. I stayed close by so I could hear Her talking to Deena's Mom. I didn't need to hide in the closet, because He was in the kitchen, and She and Deena's mom would never hurt me. The present she brought did kind of scare me a little, but after awhile, I got a close look at it, and sniffled it all over. Even Kasey came to look at it. She says the kids will love it, too. Besides a present, Deena's Mom brought some soup, made out of vegetables, so He can eat it. She says We are so lucky to have such a top-notch family! TTYL

Cats Drilling?

If you ever met Her, you would know that She loves this Eddie guy, and we love him, too, because He is Her grandson. (In Her mind!) Along with this Eddie, She also has Eddie-people. These are people that she met on the computer, and She knows some of them quite well, and loves the way they care about each other. She talks about Eddie so much that lots of Her home friends get tired of hearing about it, but Her Eddie-friends never do. Eddie has this joke about cats. When you think they are purring, they're really drilling, he says. I have to laugh at that one myself. Eddie *gets* cats, She says. Sometimes, when I am purring very loudly, She says, Cat, are you drilling, and then we both laugh.
The snow is all gone today, and the sun was out. It should be warm tomorrow when She goes to listen to LW'sMom. Then, later, Deena's mom is coming over. She is happy about both of those things.
Today is spaghetti day around here, and He is tickled pink. He started talking about it first thing today. She can talk pretty well today, so maybe the worst is over. We all hope so, because there is a lot to do before Christmas. I told you, She will be scurrying around, just like people who didn't get shopping done early!
I have to go stalk something by the window. That's all for me today.

Snow Cats

Today I looked out the window, and all this snow was falling down! I got onto the windowsill and watched it. The grass turned mostly white, with some little tufts sticking up. I watched it for a long time, while She sat in Her comfy chair and said I'm sure glad I don't have to go out in that, aren't you, Coffs? When the snow quit falling, I went over and got on her lap, and we had some roast beef sandwich and chips. She got it at the store yesterday. If She gets three more, the next one is free. It was very tasty.
Remember, I told you He had to go take His mother to the doctor? Well, She hoped that she wouldn't want to go out in the snow, but She should have known - a trip to the doctor is just too good to miss. It was a relief when He got home safely.
Her Michigan Girl has been in Costa Rica for her MS, and She is so thrilled that it helped her! Before she went, she couldn't walk at all, and now she can stand and walk and turn over in bed! It was something called stem cells, and it has worked after one month there. I know She is excited about that!
She made vegetable gumbo for Him tonight, because He has had such a hard day with His mother. I am going to check that out. TaTa.

Lucky Cats

We are lucky to have a nice warm house when it gets really cold out. When She opens the door, you can feel the cold air, and They are wearing warm sweaters. She puts on Her pink robe every morning. The man on TV said it is going to snow tomorrow. Kasey and I can't remember that we ever saw snow. Where He and She used to live, very far away from here, They had snow all the time, and She really doesn't like snow! People here, who don't see much snow get all excited, but She made sure She has everything She needs, so She doesn't have to go outside!
He can't stay home tomorrow, because He has to take His mother to still anothher doctor. It is what she does for fun - go to the doctor. He plays along, so she is not so sad. What She says is what's the use. She will make Him a nice dinner out of vegetables tomorrow, to cheer him up.
She still can't talk, and Mable's Mom thinks it is because the air in the house is dry. I guess She will try to keep her throat damp. She has lots of soda. LW's Mom told Her about some special tea, but She couldn't find it at the store. She will look again tomorrow, and if She finds it on the computer, She will ask Him to get it for Her. Trouble is, maybe He likes that She can't talk! (snerk)
I have to go look under Her chair. I think She dropped something I can stalk. Cheery-Bye

Silent She

It was a bummer day. Her throat was a little scratchy yesterday, but today She woke up with no voice at all. Although She told me She did not feel very sick, it was enough to make Her afraid that She would give a cold to Smudge's Mom, and that made her very sad. Since She couldn't talk, He had to call S'sM to tell her that She couldn't risk it, and She was glum all day. She can't answer the phone, even. And She was couldn't waiting to see Smudge's Mom! And they would have had nice coffee-the-drink, too.
Well, the mail guy brought Them a DVD and it was named Rage. It was very peculiar. She wanted to watch it right away, and so They sat down and said this is an odd movie. All of a sudden He said no wonder you wanted to see this movie, and She laughed - very quietly. I bet you can guess who showed up in this movie. (snerk)
This cold seems very strange, She said. Except for a runny nose and no voice, She doesn't feel really sick, just pew. She has some medicine that says Zicam on it, and She thinks maybe that is helping. But She sure misses Smudge's Mom.
It is time for me to have an after-movie snack. ByeBye.

Cold Weather Cats

It is very cold and rainy today, and not a nice day to do errands. She thought very hard about going out, because She doesn't like to be cold. Finally, She went to Her bank. She is all business about Her bank! And then, as long as She was out, She stopped at the store to get some of what She calls odds and ends. That means it's not food, but finishing touches for Her Christmas and graduation things. She told Him that it is hard to get graduation cards in December, which made her wonder, since She has two graduation people this month. Well, She will keep looking. She was glad to get home from her errands.
One of Her girls from the computer had made a nice picture for Her to put on the place where they send messages to each other. It is so adorable that She had to show it to everybody! It is a picture of a cat, and Kasey and I really like that.
Tomorrow She is going to see Smudge's Mom. They have to make plans for their anniversaries, which are one day and one year apart. They love to do that!
The man who came to fix His light gave me some great pets. He knew that I was just giving a love-bite when I bit him. Must chase Kasey now. TTYL

Laundry Cat

I have found a new place to hide and relax! I used to go into the back of Her closet and hide, but I got in trouble for leaving hair all over Her clothes, so I had to find a new place. Here is the way Their closet is. There is one big room, which is the closet. There are two doors. One is His side, where everything is neat, and sorted by color, and all the shoes are on shelves. The other door goes to Her side, which is not sorted at all, although She claims She has it organized. (snerk) In the middle, there is another place to hang clothes, with half for Her, and half for Him. Under there is a basket where They put Their clothes that need to go into the machine that washes clothes. They call it a laundry basket. Can you guess where I go to hide, now?If you guessed laundry basket, you would be right!The funny part is when They don't know I'm in there, and someone drops clothes into the basket and they land on me. When They hear me laughing, They see what just happened. Besides, I like to be on their clothes, especially when They are not home.
This week He is taking His mother to three different doctors, because that's what she likes to do. If you have a son like that, you are very lucky. She wouldn't take her, I guarantee.
It is quite cold today, so I believe a little snuggle is in order. Excuse me while I go and find Her. Poodle Tip (get it?)

More Sorting

Today He and She got a lot accomplished. They were going to go to the place where She had Her birthday, because there was a craft show and sale, but instead They said let's stay home and get some things done around here! They both had some temptations of things to do with friends, but She said if I stop, I will not go back to accomplishing. She said that is the trouble with temptations. They keep you from doing your jobs! Of course, when She sat down to have some coffee-the-drink and a little lunch, and a certain cat (ahem) went to sleep on Her arm - well, She had to stay there until I woke up!
Did you ever feel sad and happy at the same time? Well, that's how She feels about Her opera girl. That girl has been visiting Eddie, very VERY far away, and now will be coming back to her home. While She is glad the opera girl is going to be home, She is sorry that she had to leave such a good time.
But mostly, She is happy. She is planning to see Smudge's Mom this week, and Mable's Mom and Deena's Mom. She sure loves Her friends. And She really misses Her Mazie. But mostly, She is happy. I'll go and have a snack now. Oh revwar.

Cats Get Ready

Now that Thanksgiving is over, we have to help Her get ready for Christmas. Do you know what? She bought lots of things ever since Christmas was over last year, and now She has to remember to put it in the right bag. I don't know if other people do this, but She puts presents in a bag. It is the kind of bag that you can use at the store, so it is not wasteful. Since She and He get lots of presents for one person, instead of one big present, you have to pay attention to all the things in your bag at once, then - no more presents from Them. You remember that She gets about a thousand catalogs, don't you? Well, She sees something that someone will like, and She hopes it will tickle them pink (I still don't know what that really means, except it is happy.). Oh, She doesn't get stuff just to fill the bag. It has to be something that means something. Sometimes people ask Her what She wants for a present, and She says something consumable. What? I said. She said it means things that can be used up, like honey or jam. But She also thinks pictures are a treasure. I happen to know She has pictures of things and people all over the place. It is partly why She doesn't get Her dusting done! I help Her find things in Her gift closet. I wonder what They will get me. Well, Toodle Pip for now.

Still Thankful

This is the day after Thanksgiving, and She said we had better stay home. Kasey and I like to have Them at home, so today we played and ate kibbles and got snuggles and skritches and pets. Cleo is still here, but her Mom has to go to work, so she will probably go home tonight. Since Cleo has been here, all she has eaten are treats and cat food. She hasn't touched the nice food her Mom brought. I don't mind telling you, She is worried about Cleo. It is as hard for Cleo to stand up as it is for Her, sometimes. and Cleo has not run around all that much.
Anyway, it is kind of cold today, so She put the furnace on for the first time in about 8 months. She says there is nothing like hot soup on a day like this, so She is making some nice soup out of vegetables, and He will love that.
One of Her favorite girls is over in England, seeing Eddie, and she sent Her lots of pictures from his last night show. That surely did tickle Her pink. She is still thankful for all Her girls and boys and grandchildren!
Kasey and I are still thankful, too. Now I will get on the bed, where He is under the blanket, and I will have a little rest, myself. Cheery-Bye.

Thankful Cats

Today, Kasey and I are very thankful cats. We are thankful for Him and Her, because they rescued us from cages at the espeeceeay and take good care of us. We are grateful for all our cat friends and their Moms and Dads. We are thankful for SOME dog friends, like Cleo and Mable and Deena and Dudley and Apache and their families, and we are thankful for the birds in our back yard. They make us laugh when they fight over the seeds! We are thankful for TV, because that gives us laps to snooze on. I am thankful that She made turkey for Herself and for me. She fixed lots of nice things for Him, too, except no turkey.
You know that She has lots of computer friends, too, don't you? Well lots of them sent good wishes and lots of pictures of Eddie, so She was glad. She says She was right chuffed. That is Eddie-talk.
He went to the movies to see some picture that She didn't care about. She is glad that He wants to do interesting things. It is good for His thinking.
Here is something funny: She got presents for everyone, but now She can't find them all! It makes me laugh to watch her searching in the gift-closet. Didn't I tell you this would happen? Well, I am going into Her closet now. It is very snug and safe. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I am a thankful guy.

Cleo and Cats

Our cousin, Cleo - who is a dog - has come to spend Thanksgiving with us. We are not afraid of Cleo, but we keep our guard up, just because it is what cats do. Mostly, Cleo just rests, usually by Her. Kasey will jump right over Cleo to get her treats, and Cleo doesn't even care. If a strange (to Cleo) cat is out there, Cleo will bark at him or her, but mostly, she doesn't bark, she just rests, or plays with her toys. One thing that He did was put our food and litter boxes in Their room, so we can make choice about whether to play with Cleo or not. Life would be easier for everyone, if we all could make choices like that.
This evening, She is going to meet with Her beloved Crones, although many of them are busy for Thanksgiving, which is tomorrow. It doesn't bother Her. She loves all Her Crones, and whoever is there, She will be glad.
I believe I will go and join Kasey and Him, who are having a nap. Tomorrow I will tell you some of the things I am thankful for. Don't eat too much, or if you do, find some Alka Seltzer, like She does! Good night.

Questions and Company

The first thing She did today was to go and see Her thinking people where they talk about Big Questions. They were talking about what will happen if the future. It was more of a supposing than knowing, because so many things have happened that no one kenw were going to happen - like phones that take pictures and like that. It was such a good talk that She didn't come home until later than usual, but She was quite pumped up about the thinking.
Then, Katy came over from next door and played with us until her mom came home. She was haaving fun with our toys, which we shared with her like good cats do. Of course, Kasey hissed at Katy, because that's the way Kasey is, but she didn't fight with Katy, and she let Katy play with her beloved fish-toy. It was fun to have Katy here. And tomorrow, we are going to get more company. Cleo is coming to have Thanksgiving with us while her Mom and Dad go far away to see Cleo's girls. We can always go into the bedroom if Cleo scares us, but mostly she just plays and goes outside. I wonder if she will eat our food this time.
I will rest up, now, from all the fun I had today. More fun tomorrow! Toodles.

Autumn Cat

It is very pretty outside today. Yesterday, too. This is what they call Autumn. She says they sometimes call it fall, because the leaves fall, but our trees are still full of leaves. Where we live, it doesn't get cold and snow, She really likes that. When She saw the cupcakes that Smudge'sMom made, She said how clever S'sM was to make them in Autumn colors to match the decorations. For a long time, She was very particular that everything would match. She isn't that fussy now, but She still likes when it happens. When it is Autumn, it gets dark earlier, and They have sweaters. Kasey and I wear the same clothes all the time. There is something cozy about Autumn, though.
Today for lunch She had left-over cheese. Oh, and of course She had some cupcakes as well. He can't eat the cheese, because it is not made of vegetables, so She and I have to take care of that. What is good luck for Him is that She still has a lot of vegetables and a little bit of fruit left over.
Someone was supposed to come today and talk to Them about His mother and the place where she lives. I guess the doctor thinks that His mother's thinking is so mixed up that she may need to move. Here's what She says. Just so she doesn't come here! I don't think She cares for His mother.
I must go and see if there is any cheese for Autumn cats right now. Si-o-norra.

Hiding Cat

Today was the day His and Her friend, Betsy, came to visit, and a lot of friends came over. They brought nice things to eat, and She had enough soda. There were plenty of vegetables for him to eat, and lots of cheese. Mmmm -- We love cheese! Smudge's Mom made cupcakes and Mable's mom brought some other sweet stuff, which made Her eyes light up. When they left to go home. they left all the sweet things. She is tickled pink! Everyone was nice and comfy. Kasey went out to check on everything, and she even let some people pet her! I did not go out at all, even though She called me a few times. I can't help it, I am scared of new people. I should not be, but Tori-Tzu's Mom said it was OK, and people shouldn't say shouldn't.
Everyone was so happy to see Betsy and her husband. Betsy said she didn't feel like she said goodbye properly when she moved far away, so this was a chance to hug everyone. It was all nice!
What a happy day!
That cheese looks kind of good. I will go and make a hungry face, and She will give me some, I bet.

Not Three Cats

Today Katy-next-door was going to come over and play with us, but her mom decided not to bring her, because of the rain, so there are only two cats here. It is one of those rainy days when you don't feel like playing, anyway. I just got a few snuggles and went back to bed. Today I chose His pillow to nap on, while Kasey stayed on her blue blanket. Kasey did go and interrupt Her while She was computering. What do you want, Kasey, sez She. As if She didn't know that Kasey wanted those Smudge-treats that She bought for her.Kasey has a way of sniffling you so that she is as close as can be, without touching you. She was giving those kinds of sniffles to Her. It was kind of a game, because She finally gave Kasey some treats, and Kasey jumped down. That little cat didn't even purr! I always purr when He or She does something nice for me, Remember, She says I am a purr factory!
It is spaghetti day today, so He is especially glad of that. Then they are going to watch a movie, which gives me a lap to snooze on. Two cats are going to be nice and cozy!
I have to watch out the door now, while She goes and gets the mail. More catalogs, I bet! Toodles.

Celebration Days

There is something in the air these days, and I think it is because Miss Betsy is coming over on Sunday, then Her calendar is busy next week, with writing all over it. In about a week, She says, we will be in full holiday mode. That means Abby's Dad, who is Her brother, will have a birthday, then a nice dinner happens, and before you know it, it will be time for presents! Everyone laughed at Her when She stated shopping while it was still hot weather, but now She doesn't have to go out and get in crowds. I'll bet you a spoonful of kibbles, though, that He and She will be rushing around at the last minute, making the presents seem nice.
One thing that needs to get better is Her hand. When She went into the laundry room, she held on to the side of the door, and it swung closed on Her hand. Now it is all black and blue and red. He is worried, but She just laughs. People have hands that are easy to bruise, She said. You are lucky you have paws, Coffs!
Well, She is making vegetable soup for His supper, and He is tickled pink. He remembers that tomorrow is spaghetti day, too! It makes Him smile, and She likes that.
I think I will go join Her in the kitchen in case She drops something that needs to be stalked. Chow.

Oh, My!

If my face were not the color of coffee with cream in it, it would surely be red! Do you know what I did? I put Thursday on my story yesterday, and it was really Wednesday! If She had done that, She would have said well I'm old, and old people get mixed up. But that won't work for me. I am a young cat, and I rarely forget things. In fact I remember too much, like when I didn't live here, and no one took good care of me. It makes me scared, sometimes. But this time I was just distracted. That means I was trying to think of two things at once. That doesn't work when you are writing your story. It was probably Kasey's fault for sniffling me while I was trying to write!
Well, today Kasey is on her blue blanket, so I am paying attention.
I know why Kasey likes that blanket. You see, She has a warm robe that is made out of the same stuff, and I got up on Her this morning and went to sleep on Her arm that was in the cozy robe. She was trying to do things, but She didn't want to disturb me. She called to Him to take a picture, but he didn't answer. Probably HE was distracted today! Well, you can imagine what I looked like - asleep on her arm.
We are doing the dusting now, and I must go and help. It IS Thursday today, you know. TTYL

Thursday Adventures

Maybe they aren't what you would think of as adventures, but around here, things are kind of lively. First, I missed my butter because I was chasing Kasey and endid up in the bathtub. He had to come and get me out. Then She took the things to the place where they give them to poor people, After that, She went to get some things for Sunday's visitors, and She got a LOT of sodas. These people will have good luck if they are thirsty! She brought home a salad but it had onions in it. She tried to sort them all out for Him, but some were mixed up with meat, and He only eats vegetables, so She was stuck with the onion. Eew. She was on the phone a lot and was talking business to some guy. It must have been about money, because She was very serious.
She visited with Her email friends, and found out Her email name was up during Eddie's show in England! It made her giggle.
It is sure nice to have plenty to eat. Katy's husband came by and He put out some kibbles for him. You should have seen that cat gobble them down. I would not like to be that hungry. For dinner, She is going to have nachos with Mable's Mom. He and Kasey and I will watch TV. I better go now. Addy-ose.

Cst Hair

I was kind of in trouble. Here's what happened. When I want to be all by myself, or if it is thundering, or when Cleo is here, I like to go into Her side of the closet and curl up under Her clothes. I feel as if that's kind of clever of me, don't you? Well, today, when She was folding up clothes for the poor people, She came upon a black skirt, way at the back - the last skirt in there. When She saw it was all covered in cat hair, She guessed that it was my hair, because it was the color of coffee with cream in it. Oh, Coffee, She said. I can't give a skirt like this to the poor people! I felt kind of sad, because I didn't know I was leaving hair on it! Then She started to laugh, and showed Him. He said He would wash it for Her, and the problem was over. She gave me pets so I wouldn't feel bad. It didn't stop me from wondering why She was working in Her closet when She is having company on Sunday, and there is a lot of work to do to make things look nice, but I decided not to say anything.
That cute little Katy is in our back yard again. I think she knows He feeds the birds, and Katy believes she can catch a bird. She is mistaken, I happen to know. Sorry about the hair, but hey, I'm a cat! Bye.

Odd Kind of Work

I was much happier today, and only needed a few pets and one snuggle during the day. It is a good thing, because She was telling me how busy She is. Most of Her being busy was at Her computer. It seems as if She wants to be sure everyone knows that Her friend Betsy will be here on Sunday. Then She had to sort out who was doing what. You would think that would be enough, but She had to check with everyone about Her Crones' holiday lunch. Or should it be brunch? So emails were coming and going until She had to stop and put things in boxes to take to the place where they help poor people. She says we have to share with people who aren't as lucky as we are. Do you know there are some people who can't even get food or toys for their cats! He and She make sure Kasey and I always have food. They give us treats and toys, but mainly we chew the toys off the strings. We like to play with boxes and things on the floor that need to be stalked! We are glad we are not poor!
She was also thinking a lot about LW, because she was having her scans today. We are all waiting to hear what the scans show. She says He and She are rooting for NED. I'll let you know, but keep sending good energy to LW.
Have to go look out the window now. Katy-next-door is in our back yard. Ta ta for now.

Pets and Peeves

For some reason, today I need lots of pets. I have climbed up for pets about 20 times, and at first She thought I wanted water in my bowl, or some food. All I wanted was pets. Some days you need more pets than others, as well you know!
But I did NOT want Her to go out for coffee-the-drink with Mables'sMom. Can't She just stay here and play with Her cats? I went and got into Kasey's in-box, just to show Her I wanted to be close, but Kasey jumped up there and tried to sniffle me all over! It is Kasey's way of saying get out of my in-box!
Her favorite thing today was that LW'sDad came over, and they had a lot of fun. They talked about some important business, but She was so glad he came over that She felt happy. Except that She didn't have any cookies to give him. There WAS coffee-the-drink, though, which was not a surprise for LW's Dad.
In one week Her friend Betsy is coming from far away, and all the Crones can tell her how glad they are that she came to visit. Maybe Her friends won't notice that the house is a mess. That's why She loves them! I'm off for a snack now. TTYL

Knackered She

What a great day She has had! But She did more walking than usual, and She told Him that sitting down never felt so good! You see, She collected Apache's Girl from where she had lunch, but A'sG had forgotten the present for the party. She and A'sG went back to her house to get the package. Then, they rode to a big school where A'sG had to meet some people and watch some robots. I think I know what they are. Anyway, they walked all over that school, and finally back to the car. A's G was a darling, and very polite, so She was willing to do all that walking. Then they went to the party, and She turned Apache's Girl over to another good friend. It was fun for Her, because She got to see LW'sMom, Cleo's Mom and the lady from the thinking club, as well as lots of other nice people. The party lasted a long time, and She ate dinner there, so........No spaghetti tonight! She did promise Him that there would be spaghetti tomorrow, so He was OK with that. So now She is knackered and we all know what that means! She will be happy to sit in Her chair with a lonesome cat on Her lap. That works for me. (snerk)

Frantic Friday

As it so happens, She used to have a cat named Friday. She told me today that when She used to go to work, She liked Fridays ALMOST as much as coffee-the-drink. Anyway, we were up early today, because He had to go somewhere, and She could have gone back to bed, but She said She might as well get some things done. She needs to be ready for tomorrow, when She takes Apache's Girl a few places. She really likes that girl, who is as old as Mazie, but much taller.
The 2 of them are going to a party for a new baby that is not born yet. She had to wrap the presents and figure out how to keep it closed, since She wrapped it in a blanket. She doesn't like to waste paper on wrapping presents.
Beside that, she was on the phone and on the computer doing some work. Of course, Kasey interrupted Her to get treats. Not like ME. I only got up there to give Her snuggles and let Her brush me. I know better than to interrupt.
She said She was glad that LW'sMom got an apology from the school where they made a mistake. It is kind of sad that people think She is fussy about some things, but She knew LW's Mom would be just as fussy. That makes Her smile.
He was gone all day taking some kind of tests, and now He is home, so I will go rub on His legs to welcome Him back. So Long for now.

Thoughts on Thursday

Finally She and Katy's Mom got all the papers done for Katy's Boy's school. They must have answered a million questions! I'm sure glad I don't have to go to school. Now they are done, and they could get on with their day. For instance, She went to a store and got a present for the new little baby that is coming, and She and Apache's girl are going to see their friend's presents and have some good food. She promises not to eat too much. She says the new baby is going to be a boy. so She got him a baby-tuxedo for New Year's Eve. She thought that was cute.
One thing He did was have His mother's phone fixed, so she called 3 or 4 times today. It's your own fault, She told Him, for being a good son!
She seemed to be studying a lot of things today. She has ideas to tell to LW's Daddy when he comes to see Them on Sunday. Also, She had to find maps so She knows where to take Apache's girl on Saturday before the party for the new baby. Apache's Mom and their Older girl are going far away to look at a college, so She feels lucky that She can spend some time with the little sister.
I'm going to look out the window now, because Katy's husband is in our yard. I will make a mean face at him! Check back on the party report on Saturday. Oh-ree-vwar

Too Much Lunch!

It was a regular day, with everyone feeling good. I had my butter, Kasey had her treats, and She had Her bagel. In fact, She actually got some things done. When it was time for lunch, She went away to have lunch with Her beloved Crones. The place where She went was not far from our house, and She was very glad to see the people who came. At the place where they went you could take your plate and get any of the food they had. You didn't have to decide what you wanted. She had a lot of things on Her plate, and thought She would go back to get some more, but She was full when she ate the nice meat and vegetables. She could have stopped there, but She saw all the desserts they had, and got some of those - even some ice cream! She was groaning when She got home! I ate too much, she kept saying! She just had some time to work on Katy's Boy's papers, and then She said She wanted an Alka Seltzer. Do you know what that is? I think it is something to drink so that your tummy doesn't feel so full. I wish they had that for cats. Now, all She wants to do is sit in Her chair and relax. Good for making a lap for me! She told Him they will go back there next month. I wonder if She learned Her lesson.

Busy Cats

We were busy today, helping with the to-do list. After treats and butter, She checked her emails and got dressed and went out the door. We had to help Him, because He was cleaning things up while She was gone. Then He had to go to His school, and She was back with kitchen things to do.
While She was gone, She had new red paint on Her toes, so I had to stalk them for awhile. She also got some new things to eat. Since He eats His vegetables, She tries to find things that they can have together, besides spaghetti. Did you know they make soup out of just vegetables for people like Him? She got some of those things.
When She came home, She went to get the mail, and Katy's husband came over and asked for some kibbles. When She didn't hurry, he hissed at Her. She told him that if he kept doing that, he wouldn't get any more kibbles from Her! Of course She gave him some today, and he didn't hiss again. They feel sorry, because he is a hungry cat.
Katy's Mom came over, and they were filling out a big stack of papers so the school will know how to help Katy's Boy. It makes us all happy that She can help with that. She wants all children and cats to have the right kind of help. That is lucky for Kasey and me! But, of course I am knackered now, so I'll have a little nap. Addy-ose for now.

Sorting Cats

Today we had to sort out things from the gift closet. I guess She has gotten so many presents that She has forgotten who gets what. On top of that, She got about a dozen catalogs today. I heard Her tell Him that She is sick of Christmas and it's not even Thanksgiving yet! But She gets tickled pink when She thinks of how funny the presents are! Oh, some of the things are serious, but mostly they are to make people and dogs and cats smile. So Kasey and I helped Her sort things today. Kasey mostly bothered Her for treats. Kasey is being nice to Her just to get treats, and I think that is kind of rude, because we all know Kasey doesn't care.
In a few days, She is going to have lunch with Her beloved Crones. They are going to a different place to try it out. She will be anxious to see if everyone likes it. If so, fine. If not, well, they will try another place.
Another thing She wants to do is to see how the meeting went with LW's Mom and the people who need to see what a smart minister she is. The meeting was so very far away. It is where She is going to see her beloved Eddie after Christmas. She says there is no doubt the people will love LW's Mom, so She will expect a report.
Well, the sorting is over for today, so I will go see if anything needs to be stalked. Toodles.

A Quiet Day

When She woke up, She was expecting a very different day than the one She had. After She read Her paper and gave treats and butter to Kasey and me, She went to check her computer to see if there were any messages. It turns out that the plan She had to go to visit some dear kids along with Mable's Mom was changed. The kids' parents didn't need Her help. Then She found out Mable's Mom had a terrible time last night. She was supposed to have someone check on how she acted while she was asleep. She went to a doctor far away where Mazie used to live, and the doc had forgotten to tell them about the plan! They couldn't do the checking! Mable's Mom was so upset that she hardly slept at all! Well, then She read a message from Smudge's Mom. Our Uncle Jack, who has been sick, has died. Even though Jack was a very old cat, it was hard to decide to let him go to sleep in peace, and Smudge's Mom and Dad were very brave to decide that. Smudge's Mom says to remember Uncle Jack when he was strong and healthy, and not when he was sick. After those messages, She was relieved to stay home and have a quiet day. Kasey and I were on hand to give Her extra snuggles today.
I must admit, Kasey even let Her pet her. It was that kind of day. Bye for now.

Knackered Cats

Yes, we have had an active day today. Kasey and I had to play chase for quite awhile because it really made Her laugh. Look at how they play together, She said to Him. You would never know they love each other. What makes Her think we love each other is just Her wishful thinking. I think Kasey is rude, and Kasey thinks I am not very clever. Of course Kasey is wrong, but - well - no sense arguing with Kasey. Then I had to stalk a red thing after it fell on the floor. I caught it, and worked terribly hard to kill it, but it kept sliding away. It was a twisty thing from off a plastic bag. You know how those things are. He finally picked it up and put it in the trash. That means I won!
One other thing that wore me out was thinking about our Uncle Jack, who is still sick. I am sending energy to him, and so are He and She. Get better Jack. We love you. And Smudge still needs to learn things from you.
This is spaghetti day. He checked with Her about that first thing. In the meantime, She had shrimp for lunch, and that made me purr. I got my own shrimp, which I had to stalk before I could eat it. So you can see why I need a little nap. Chow for now.

Friday Cats

Do you know what She says? She says TJMIF. No one knows what She means by that unless they are Her Eddie People. Her beloved Eddie says god sounds like James Mason, so that's how She thinks about god. And Her dear friend, Juliette's Mom, who just died, always said she believed in a small-g god, so that's what She believes in.Some people are not very happy with the way She thinks about god, but She believes in being a nice friend, helping others, and giving treats and pets to Her cats. For me, I think that is OK.
The men came today to check on the furnace before the weather gets too cold. He said they were coming Saturday, but they came today, so She told them they had better not find anything that cost a lot of money to fix. Usually, She is nice, but She gets very mean with these people.
Today they said They needed to fix something, and She said She would talk to Him about it, but She thinks it is a scam. That means they are making stuff up to make money. She says we need a second opinion. Well, OK. I think it's a scam, too. So it is settled.
She got two good things in the mail today. A new Eddie DVD, and a CD about a sweet girl She knows from New York. What a lucky day for us! TJMIF! TTYL

A Singing Day

Today She woke up singing! For one thing, Her NYC-singer-Grandkid sent Her some pictures and they had a chat about that, But mostly She was excited, because She was going to meet Apache's Mom for coffee-the-drink! She just loves Apache's mom and Dad and their girls and boy! It made Her feel wonderful, and do you know what She told Him? She said Apache's Mom bought Her a gingerbread bagel! I have never heard of such a thing! How wonderful it must have been!
Then, She went to a store where She had a little paper that said She would get everything She bought for less money. That is the kind of adventure that She sings about! She was very pleased with Her good luck, and She was all treats and pets for us. I know a secret, but don't tell Kasey. I saw two packets of Smudge-treats when She was putting things away. Oh, Kasey will dance about that. Here's the bad news: Kasey still doesn't want pets from Her. It is lucky that I am here to give Her something to do with Her extra pets. I would not give all those treats to Kasey, myself. I think Kasey is rude.
I am going to wait until She is through fixing dinner, and then I will go sit on Her lap. If
She happens to give me a snack, well, I guess I deserve it. TaTa for now.

The Coffster Abides

Yes, I am in a good position right now. You see, Kasey has gone a little nutso about her new treats. Right now, Kasey's favorite friend is our cousin Smudge. It is Smudge's treats that have Kasey addicted, and she spend most of her time looking for Her to give her some treats. It has gotten so Kasey doesn't care so much for her old treats, and He feels kind of sad that she runs to Her desk or the inbox to cry for the Smudge-treats. I'll keep you up to date on this development. Meanwhile, I'M the normal one! (snerk)
This afternoon, She went to visit at Katy's Boy's school to help them find out if he needs more help. She thinks that the school should give more help to Katy's Boy, and that takes a lot of meetings! While She was doing that, He went to visit His mother where she lives. As usual, He came home and went right to bed. Oh, she wears Him out. One good thing is that this month's bill is smaller. That makes Her happy, so She just let Him rest until dinner time.
So many catalogs came that she still hasn't looked at half of them. All She says is Oh, LW's mom would like this, or Mazie would like that, or Cleo's girls would look cute in that. Meanwhile, the gift closet is full of stuff! One of the catalogs is about pets. Hmmm. I hope She looks at that one very carefully. Toodle Pip.

Strange Day for Cats

This was a strange day for Kasey and me. Kasey did not get her regular treats - that is, she wouldn't eat them! Then I didn't get my butter. I was busy drinking water in the bathtub, and She called me a lot of times, but when I got out there, I didn't lick any butter off her finger. She was really puzzled by us today. I don't know why we were such strange cats today. Maybe we knew they were both going away, and we were sad. She went to get Her car fixed and He went to His school, and we don't like it when they are both away.
She had to go to Her bank, as well. She said She could not drive Her car (which is all fixed) through the outside bank place. They told Her that the bank was hit by lightning, and their computers for the driving place don't work. What a storm that was last week! It scared us, but we didn't know it had hit Her bank..
There were a lot of catalogs in the mail today. I told Her to throw them out, because She doesn't have any more money to buy different gifts, but She just laughs and says don't worry, Coffs. We'll think of something!
Now They are both home. I'll see if She feels like petting Her cat! Sy-o-nara.

Time Cats

There is something wrong with the time. He and She get up earlier, and go to sleep earlier. It has Kasey and me quite confused. Saturday night They did something to all the clocks, but not the clock in my tummy, so I get my food earlier, when I am not so hungry. You would think that would make a cat happy, but it makes me confused. Being confused is not fun for me. Kasey doesn't care, as usual. She eats her supper earlier, then goes and begs for more at the usual time. And still she is sleek and slim. It makes Her wish that She could do that, but She is not sleek nor slim. She says She is a grandma, so it is OK to look like a dumpling! That is a fluffy kind of food. She looks fine to me, and She is much friendlier than Kasey. She is also worried about Smudge's Cat, Jack. He doesn't feel well, so we are sending love to him.
There are a lot of things on her to-do list this week. When did I have time to go to work? She says. Most of the things are fun, though, except getting Her car fixed. They sent a letter to Them saying Their cars needed to have something changed, so He took His today, and She has to go tomorrow.
She is excited for Mazie, because her family is moving in to their new house today. I wish they were not so far away, She says. But She is glad She doesn't have to help carry boxes!
I am not hungry yet, so I'll go lie in a piece of sun that is coming in the window. Nappy-bye.

The Cat Stalks

Last night, they watched a bunch of scary movies while kids came to the door for trick or treat. I couldn't get on Her lap, because She was always jumping up to give candy to the kids. Some of them looked like vampires, and one guy looked like a dragon. He would have been the scariest, except his mom was carrying him. They were eating popcorn, and with all this up and down stuff, some popcorn pieces droped on the floor. Luckily, I was there to stalk that popcorn and bat it under the table, so They didn't see it. I like to help that way, especially when I can't get lap time. When it got late, and all the candy was gone, I could get my pets, while They watched a murder show. They did something to the clocks, too, so we stayed up later. More scary movies.
So, today She and Mable'sMom went to get gingerbread pancakes, which She loved. When She got home from that, Katy's Girl brought Her a big bag full of presents! The presents were things She loved, especially a little bear dressed in a cute outfit. Do NOT stalk that bear, Coffster, She said to me. It is tempting, but I will leave it alone. Maybe LW will play with it next time she comes over.
Anothher nice thing is that Smudge's Mom came home from her far-away trip, so She is happy today.
I think She dropped something else. I will go and stalk it now. Odd you. (That's French)

Warning!

If you are a cat and you are reading this, I urge you to take some advice from a very wise cat. (ahem) Do NOT go out tonight! Oh, I know it is tempting. There are cute children everywhere, and there are bags of treats, and pumpkins with funny faces. But there are also some dangers. Your tail WILL get stepped on. If you get into some strange food such as chocolate, you will get sick. This part She would not tell you, because She doesn't want to believe it, but there are some people out there who like to hurt things. Remember Katy's first kittens? It turned out they were hurt by some wicked boys, not hit by a car! And cars are dangerous, too. So stay inside. Peek out at the children, if you dare, but keep your little self in the house! That way, if someone out there think that cats can talk to witches (which they can, but witches are not evil.) you won't be a target.
Sorry to be a downer today, but even though She says don't worry, Coffs, I remember what it was like before I lived here. Here, They make pasta for dinner, and give lots of pets. And They absolutely will NOT let us go out! Be sure to check the bags the children bring home, and we can talk about that tomorrow. Doss vadonya.

Her Face is Red!

Here's what happened. She was supposed to go for a meeting a Katy's Boy's school - She THOUGHT. She called Katy's Mom to make sure of the time, and just said I'll see you at the meeting. She got all ready and went to Katy's Boy's school, and everyone there had left. She called Katy's Mom to find out what happened, and it turns out that it was at another school for Katy's GIRL! Oh, She felt so foolish! I guess they won't think She is such a big help after all! Well, not everything was wrong today. She ordered a birthday present for Her little brother, who will be 72 next month. She reordered minutes for her cell phone. She found a catalog that LW's big brother would love, and She told Him She wished She could get him a dozen things out of it. Maybe She will just give LW's Mom the catalog. She may buy a lotto tomorrow, She says. I don't believe that She will. She never does.
So now She is finding out what She missed at the meeting, and trying to get over feeling foolish. She will have a good sandwich for Her supper, and maybe give a taste to Her beloved (ahem) cat. Here comes Kasey for some treats, so I must sign off. Happy Halloween tomorrow.

Kasey's New Friend?

It turns out that Kasey is actually willing to pretend to be friends with Her in order to get those wonderful treats. Kasey spends a lot of time in the inbox, and whenever She comes in the room, Kasey goes and sniffles Her hand. Today she actually rubbed her head on Her hand! I thought I would fall over! I would not be surprised if She thinks Kasey is starting to like Her. If She thinks that, then the joke's on Her, because Kasey does not like anyone. It is the treats she wants and she knows how to get Her to give them. I am sorry that She will be disappointed, because Kasey is not a friend, and will tell Her that when the treats are gone!
Last night, She met with Her beloved Crones, and came home feeling very happy, even though a lot of the Crones were not able to come to the meeting. Here is what She told Him. It is not how many that are there, it is the fact that we all care about each other that is good for my heart. He said He understood that. She did say She wishes Mable's Mom would get better. M'sM fell down again, and landed on her bad knee. It was hard on her bad back, as well.
I think I'll go give Her a snuggle, so She can see who Her real friend is! TaTa.

Doctor Cat

This morning She got up and dressed and left the house without giving me my butter. I was very upset, until He explained that She had to go to the doctor before She ate anything. I was worried. What if She forgets to give me butter when She gets home? I did not need to worry, because the first thing She did was fix coffee-the-drink and Her usual bagel, and I had about six fingers of butter, I was so hungry! There is nothing wrong with Her. I told you before, She needs to get a check-up before She gets Her little pills. The doctor did not give Her a special sticker so She could park Her car closer to the store. Get more exercise, the doc said. The doc's grandma has the same walking problems, she said. Make sure you don't fall, she said to Her. Oh well, She said.
Tonight She goes to meet with Her beloved Crones. They are trying a new place In fact it is the place where She gets Her bagels sometimes. Deena's Mom gives Her bagels from there sometimes, so She will like to have the meeting there.
Here's the thing. She doesn't need to go to the doctor very much, because I give Her lots of snuggles and massages. She says that makes Her feel better than medicine. You're a good doctor, Coffs, She says to me. I may give Her a little massage right now, in fact. Later, gator.

He Thinks She Thinks

Today was the day for the thinking people, and She was very excited with the people and the question. What kind of made Her sad was that He didn't go along this time. He has a class in the afternoon, so He didn't want to take the chance of being late. That is very responsible, She said, but inside She wished He would go. She told me so Herself, when She came home. I don't know when She will stop worrying about His thinking. She does not like worrying. Don't worry, Coffs, She says to me all the time.
Tomorrow morning She is going to Her doc. She feels fine, but the doc makes Her come back to visit before she gives Her refills. Those are for the little pills She takes to help Her be all well. They make Her bones strong, because She falls down. She says She thinks the doc is just lonely.
For Halloween She has lots of M&Ms to give to the kids who come to the door. She will not go to any party on Halloween. because She likes to see the kids in their costumes. Someone told Her to put Kasey and me in costumes. She laughed out loud at that, I am glad to say. I believe Kasey would bite Her on the nose if She tried to put her in a costume!
I hear someone coming in the door. If it is Him, I will get some nice pets! Talk to you tomorrow.

Thunder Cats

There was surely a lot of Thunder today. Some of it sounded so close that I was startled, and went and hid. Pretty soon I thought She might be nervous, so I went and gave her about a dozen snuggles. That gave Her some relief, so She went and made our bagels and butter. That butter tasted especially good. During all the noisy thunder, Kasey stayed in the Inbox on Her desk. Kasey didn't go to her cozy blue blanket because she had gacked up a hairball on it last night. Even after He cleaned it up, Kasey was not interested, until She turned it to a clean place. When Kasey was yowing for treats, She said if you eat too many of these treats, you'll get sick. You see? That very night is when that hairball come up!
But this is not a very pleasant story. I will tell you nicer things, like She got something funny for Smudge's Dad's birthday. Even though it is a long time from now, She is happy She found it. She really loves Smudge's family! Another nice thing is that He will get some help with His schoolwork. There are people that can help you when you have a thinking problem. His is not as bad as it was last summer, but it is still hard for Him to get all the things the teacher says. He deserves help, She says. I'll let you know how it works out.
I'm kind of knackered from all that thunder. I think I'll get a little snooze. See ya.

Blessing Cat

Today She is very glad She went to hear a wonderful talk by a friend who understands the nature of things. That is what She told Him, anyway. She was really inspired, and that is a blessing all by itself. Once I heard Her say that there are blessings all over the place, if you just look and listen. She has always thought Mazie is a blessing, and so is LW and the Alphas. It is lucky that you don't have to ask for blessings - they just show up! And for every one you get, you have two to give away. That's what She says, and I believe Her!
After the talk, She and Mable's Mom went to eat at a place where the food is really good, and kind of old-fashioned. No, She didn't bring anything home for Her beloved cats (ahem) but She said we weren't allowed to have milkshakes anyway, especially chocolate. Now that He eats vegetables, She doesn't bring much food home. Kasey doesn't care, because she just wants treats. The kind Smudge eats. It was Kasey's favorite day when she tasted those treats!
It will be a nice week, because She will go to Her thinking friends, and She likes that. She will tell them about the talk She heard today. Good thinking stuff, She says.
I am kind of tired now, from all this typing. I'll get a quick nap before TV lap-time. Toodle Pip.

Pasta Cats

It is the day that She makes His favorite spaghetti. She even got Him some fake meat to put on it. He has been gone all day at school, learning more about computers, and She has been looking forward to how happy He will be when He knows there is spaghetti.
LW's Family is having a great big party tonight. LW'sMom fixes lots of food and the whole house rocks with this party! LW'sMom probably will have pictures, and She can't wait to see those alphas in their costumes. They used to go to these parties, done up in costumes, but She doesn't want to go too many places anymore. She is afraid She will fall. Maybe when Her eyes get fixed she will be ready for more adventures. She says, let's see, I can't drive at night, I don't go many places - I must be getting old! But then She talks to Her other friends, and they all tell Her just wait till your eyes get fixed. She says being afraid She will fall is worse than falling. I don't quite get that, but She says never mind, Coffs. You will always land on your feet.
In just one more week, Smudge's Mom will be home, and things will seem right to Her. Tonight I will just give Her some snuggles, and we will watch a movie. If it is any good, I'll tell you tomorrow. Addy-ose for now.

Told You So

Yesterday She was having a waiting day, because She couldn't settle on something to do. She had enough of that, and last night She made Her to-do list. So when She woke up, She was ready to cross things off Her list. She has been doing things all day, and now She is ready to rest without feeling sad about not getting anything done! A really odd thing happened last night, too. When the clock said about 2:00, there was a loud pounding on the door. I quickly went into the closet! She wasn't going to answer the door, but He said who is it, and the door said Sheriff's Department. He opened the door carefully and the Sheriff guy said what's going on? He and She both said we were sleeping. The Sheriff guy said we got a call that there was trouble. Is this 7311? Yes, He said, 7311 Skybright. Oh, says the Sheriff guy, we thought it was SkyLIGHT. He told them that was the street behind us, so the got in their car with the blue lights and left. So maybe He didn't go outside Wednesday night. Maybe it was a premonition! We went back to sleep anyway.
She has been thinking about LW's Mom today. She had an important meeting for her new work, and She knew it would go well. She can't wait to hear the details.
Do I hear some rude cat yowing? What's up with Kasey? I'll go see. Bye for now.

Waiting Dy

This is the kind of day it has been - waiting. Waiting to get an idea to do something. Waiting to decide what to eat. Waiting to read the whole paper. Waiting for inspiration. When She has a waiting day like this, it is good for me, because She will pet me while She is thinking about things. One reason She is kind of between ideas is that She is worried about Him again. She woke up early this morning, after She heard Him come in from the outside. I don't know why She didn't ask Him what He was doing outside, but I think She was afraid He was having His thinking problems again, and She didn't want to deal with it. Then She couldn't get back to sleep, which never happens to Her! In the morning He was just fine, and was thinking great I guess She was dreaming about Him going outside! She was so relieved that Her brain went into waiting mode. So I have had a brushing and lots of pets while She decided to wait for some sparkle to make her do things. Kasey does not care if She is worried or not, as long as she gets treats.
I think it will be a busy day tomorrow. That is what always happens when there is a waiting day. She decides not to wait for another day, so She gets an idea for tomorrow before She goes to bed! I think She feels silly for worrying over nothing. She won't be silly like that too many times.
I know exactly what I want to eat - some nice kibbles. TTYL

Cats Music

Today She was listening to music while She was at Her computer, and Kasey came and got me, because the music was all about Cats! It was really pretty music, but it was the words that made me laugh, because they were true about cats we have known. Some of them were a little silly, but I tell you, if you are a cat, you will like these songs. I am not sure that it is a good idea that the songs tell a lot of cat-secrets, but I know She can be trusted, and He shuts his office door when She plays the cat songs. She says He is not a music lover, unless it is cool jazz.
The guy on TV said it was going to storm today, but so far it has just been cloudy. I could feel the storm in the air, so it will be here soon, I think. When it is about to storm, She notices that I am nervous, and I am not really into my daily stalking. I will finish this story, and then I will go and get close to the closet, just in case. It is a relief that He and She are both here, so I don't have to worry about them. It is really good that I heard the Cats songs, because I will think about them while it is storming. A railway cat? I am laughing just thinking about it!

Kasey's Treats

When our cousin Smudge was here with us for a few days, his Mom left some treats for him, which he shared with Kasey. I don't care for treats, just butter. Well, Kasey fell so in love with those treats that She had to get some. When Kasey goes to the Inbox, she always begs for treats - in her nonchalont Kasey way. Mostly, she stares at the package of treats, comes and sniffs Her hand (without touching it), and yows. It is funny to see how She falls for Kasey's semi-rude demanding of treats, but She does.
Today She went to school to help Katy's boy, who was having trouble at school. I don't know if the meeting made everyone happy, because She says we have to wait and see. We don't want Katy's boy to feel bad about going to school, because he is a sweet boy.
This was also a day to get Her hair cut. It was lucky that the haircut lady was there, because she is late on Tuesdays, She says. She thought She would only get an appointment,but She got the haircut today. I can't tell the difference.
When She came home, I was in the mood for some snuggles, so She watched some TV while I had a snooze on her arm. Very cozy! I may go get another snuggle this evening. Oh Reevwar.

Sunshine Cats

There is a certain time of day when there is a square of sunlight on the floor by the table, and I consider it my job to go lie in that square of sunshine. Kasey tries to get me to chase her, but I know my job, and I stay right in that sunshine! Of course, She watches all this and laughs at us. I am glad my hard work makes Her so happy! Hmmph.
This afternoon, He had to go lie down, because He spent some time with His mother, and she wears Him out. His mother does not like her new room, and wants to leave the place where she lives. She says She knows how to make that happen, but She would get arrested. I think
She is joking. Mable'sMom would not come and see Her in jail, and that would make Her sad.
Some of Her friends went to see Her beloved Eddie in NewYork, and She spent a lot of time looking at their pictures. Mable's Mom says She is OCD, but Deena's Mom understands. It is a gift thing.
The thing She has for Her supper tonight is a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. Even though it is not fish, I will make a hungry face, because She has had that before, and it is very good.
I will go and check out the floor for a little piece of sunshine that may be left over. Chow.

Cool Cats

When She went outside today, it was actually cool! It was sunny and nice, but it has been a long time since it was this cool, and She said it perked Her up! She was kind of down to think about Smudge's Mom, because her Dad died and that is always hard. Smudge's Mom was relieved that her Dad does not need to suffer any more, but you know how hard it is to know someone is always there - and then they aren't anymore. It takes some getting used to. She says that after awhile you start to think about nice things, and that will comfort you. And you know what She believes, don't you? That as long as there is a memory, that person has not left you. It helps Her. She hopes it will help S'sM.
Because it was so cool, Mable's Mom brought Mable with her to have brunch with Her. Their friend who goes on boatrides was there, too. Mable was so happy to be along that she was quivering and wagging all over, She told us. Kasey and I don't like riding in the car, and we don't go outside. We like the cool weather,. though, because everyone feels perked up.
Kasey is in the Inbox, and she doesn't like me to be here, so I will go find a lap or something. Enjoy the weather.

Weekend Update

I hear Her say that all the time. It means to catch up on what's going on. Well, here's what's going on in my world. First of all, He went to a different school today, and left very early. He really likes learning things. Since She was up early, too, She and I had bagels and butter, and checked the mail, and then She started uncluttering again. I went and hid.
Smudge's Mom is still in Montana, and it is good medicine for her family. It is not hard to get sick when you are anxious, so She is sending good energy to S'sM. Mable's Mom went to see a doctor about her back, and the doc made her feel better! That is all that it takes to make Her smile, even though She doesn't like docs like that. LW'sMom is far away as well, visiting LW's Grandpa for his birthday. What a nice gift! Cleo's Mom is letting Cleo come and visit us over Thanksgiving, and we are going to give Cleo a good welcome - but that is a long time away. Her Eddie friends have been to see him in person, and She is so glad to get their reports! It's almost like being there Herself, to hear Her friends tell about it and show pictures.
Tonight She is fixing spaghetti for dinner. He says He would like it every week, aand She says sure, why not.
They were invited to two parties tonight, and aren't going to either one. I am glad They will be here with us, so it looks like spaghetti, TV and snuggles. Great plan! Bye now.

She Means It!

What She is doing today is working on cleaning the kitchen. She is not very interested in cleaning, as you know, and so here is what She is doing. She is sorting things out into stacks. She has a stack to give away, a stack to throw away, and a stack to keep. She learned this trick from Her friend Betsy, who now lives far away. Because Betsy has been on Her mind so much, She has gotten busy with the kitchen. She told Him that the pantry shelves are kind of marked up, so She got some stuff called Contact Paper to cover the shelves. You just know He is going to be stuck with that job, don't you? Then She wants the counters cleaned off. How can two people and two cats have so much stuff on the counters? She asked Him. He is very wise, so He just waits until She is through, and then He will put His stuff back on the counters. Then, after awhile, She will run out of steam, and everything will go back the way it was. Meanwhile, I am trying not to laugh.
When Smudge's Mom comes back, She will go have coffee-the-drink with her, and Her mind will be off the kitchen. He says He hopes it is before She decides to paint it!
She has been emailing with Her Eddie friends, who saw his movie last night, and it made Her all teary to hear about it. I guess Eddie still misses his mom, after 40 years. He needs a hug.

Treats and Greets

Whenever Kasey hears someone coming in, She gets off her blue blanket and goes to jump on the table. She has trained Them to give her treats when They come in. They think it is kind of cute, but I can't understand why they like to be tricked like that. Lately, Kasey gets on Her desk, where the Inbox is, and looks hungry, so that She will give her treats in there! I have told Her not to give in to Kasey, but She pretends She doesn't understand - and gives Kasey treats! If She doesn't get the treats right away, Kasey goes to where the treats are and sniffles them, and looks at Her as if to say here they are, you doofus! Give me some!. One of these days, Kasey is going to get a tummyache, and then They will feel sorry for her. I know she is my sister, but sometimes I just have to shake my head and wonder why anyone thinks she is charming!
Today She is thinking a lot about Smudge's Mom, who has gone far away to be with her family because her father is sick. I know that will make him feel better, because Smudge's Mom always makes Her feel better.
She told Him that Mazie got her popcorn for Halloweeen. She can't believe that Mazie is so grown up that she emails Her. It does ticke Her pink, though!
I'm going to get some pets now. She gave me a good brushig, and I am soft when She pets me. We both like that. TTYL

Kindness and Friends

Today She met with Her Crone friends, and She says that just being with them makes her feel good! It doesn't matter what is going on in the world, She says. Her friends put everything in its place. I know that I feel like that when I have had a sad thing happen. She and He are my friends, and they help me feel good. Her Crones are nice, She says, because they understand. Deena's Mom is Her friend, too. Some of Her friends are younger than Crones, and they are good for cheer. And Her favorite friend is He. They have been friends for the longest. They were friends, and then they got married. Marriages are best when you marry a friend. That is what She says. I am not married, because I don't have any cat friends except Kasey, and she is not all that friendly. I have people friends, and that is good.
She also gets cheer from Her Eddie Friends. They are all over the place, and they care about each other, which friends do. One of Her Eddie friends is a tooth person, and She says She will get in trouble if this friend finds out She lost another tooth! So shhhhh. Don't tell. She will have to tell LW's next sister, though, because she is losing her teeth, too. But hers will grow back!
Someone is at the door. I think it's Katy-next-door, looking for treats. I'll go check. Seeyalater.

She Hurts

How can I be upset with Her when She heard news that made her so sad. It is bad enough, She says, when old people die. That is bad enough, because you have to learn to do without them. When a younger person dies, though, She hardly knows what to say. That is strange for Her, because saying things is what She does. They have some favorite music friends who moved far away - farther than Mazie - and their son moved with them. The son came to see them a lot when he lived close by, and always helped with big and little jobs. He was not much older than LW's Mom and Dad, but he died in his sleep one night, and no one knew anything was wrong with his heart! It will take Her awhile to get used to this.
I have been tryng to cheer Her up today. When She is sad, She wants to be cheered up. I reminded Her that She has cats to brush, and She has some popcorn treats. She had a lovely day with Deena's Mom yesterday, and She has a program She likes to watch tonight She has talked to Cleo's Mom, and checked with all her computer friends, so I will bet you a bunch of kibbles that She will feel better tomorrow. Rest in Peace, Betsy's Boy.

Oh, No! She Didn't!

Please note that I am officially pouting. She went off to Deena's house without us, but She thought we might be scared of Deena. We wouldn't, but I can understand that She might think so. What I cannot take so easily is that She had salmon for Her lunch at Deena's! Of course, you would think She would bring some home to her beloved cats -- but NO! She didn't! To tell the truth, She said, She was having such a nice time with Deena's Mom that She forgot. All I can say is Hmmph. She just loves Deena's Mom and that is fine, but She needs to remember that we are starving over here! Only kibbles and butter and treats. Well - maybe not starving, but..........It was salmon, after all.
Smudge's Mom has gone far away - farther than Mazie even, to help her family. I know She will be lonesome for her. It means that Smudge's Mom will miss lunch with the Crones, and they are trying a new place. She really wanted S'sM's opinion. But She said you've gotta help when the spirit says help. S'sM knows that, and so does She. In fact She feels so sorry about S'sM's emergencies that I might just forgive her for the salmon thing.
All this talk about salmon has made me hungry. I will settle for kibbles now. toodles.
