Named Cats

Today we were talking about our names. Of course all of us had names when we came to live with them, but She didn't like my name that my first family gave me.  It was Hank. She said that She didn't see a Hank when She looked at me. What She saw was something She loved very much, which is how I got the name Coffee. She said I looked like coffee-the-drink with cream in it, so I became Coffee Cat, and She has loved me just a little bit extra with that name. He and She did not change Kasey's name, although She has thought it is a nice, friendly name, and Kasey is not a nice, friendly cat.  I think Kasey would have preferred the name Empress. Kasey is close in sound to Katie, which is what the people next door named their cat. When she came to live here, the two names were so much alike that we called Katie Kate. Here is a funny thing about that. It turns out Kate is a kind of cat name a Russian Blue. He said she should have a Russian name. Then She said Kate is short for Cat-therine the Great. who was a famous Russian lady. I like the name Kate, and I like the name Coffee. It suits me, because She loves me as much as the kind of coffee She drinks. That is a lot of love, from what I can see. If I weren't Coffee, I would want to be named Rumpleteaser.
Pink fish for dinner, so you can call me Happy. (snerk). Bye for now.
