Since none of us cats goes outside, you would expect that we wouldn't know much about the weather. As much as I hate to tell you you're wrong, we have learned to tell a lot about what goes on outside. First of all, there is no humming from the cooling machine when it is not 80 degrees. We can tell when that machine goes on and off. We had to figure that out a long time ago. Then we can tell when He goes out for the paper in the morning, and to feed the birds. When it is cool, he puts on a shirt and shoes. Usually he goes out barefoot, and with nothing on but his work shorts. No matter how hot it is, She always has clothes and shoes on. And then there is just a feeling around here. When it starts to get cool, She feels sad about missing Her work at school, and even more sad that it is so hard for her to get around. She is glad Mazie doesn't have to come over, because She can't play with her. But then She stops being sad and gets excited for all the stuff that happens in cool weather. I don't have the heart to tell Her it isn't going to last. Where we live, it stays very hot until time for trick or treat. This is just a preview, I'm sure. We are going to enjoy it while it is more cool and dry, and not worry about the hot coming back.
Now I have to go help Her make dinner. We are making soup tonight, because it is cool right now. Soup is a cool weather kind of food. Her soup is kind of good, though, if you let it get cool. Toodles.
