Family Cats

I have talked to you about my family, and now that I get this whole family tree thing, I am searching for my far away cousins. A cat connot have too many cousins, because it is not always easy to understand this whole cat/person business. For example, Kasey and I are very cozy here with Him and Her, but sometimes there are things that only cats can help you with. We like to help out our cousin Smudge, who is very smart, but younger than we are. And we have not been many places. We don't go outside, so we have to use this computer to find out about cat things far away. We have a cousin WAYYYY across the ocean. He is very smart, and likes to get on his person's head. We only get to talk when his person goes on a trip. And our cousins Lion and Nick. They belong to Her OperaGirl, and their lives are very exciting. You should see the pictures they send me when OperaGirl is asleep! There is lots of singing in their house. Cats love singing, as well you know. Sometimes She sings to us, but mostly She plays music on Her computer. So if you are reading my stories, you might just be a cousin of mine. And Kasey's, because she is my sister.
Other than that, the news is blue. She didn't get Her pancakes today, because the pancake store was too full of people. Oh, She got tacos, but nothing works when you want pancakes, She said.
I have to go cheer Her up about that. Toodle Pip.

Family Trees

Kasey is my sister, but she is nothing like me. She doesn't look like me, sound like me or act like me. Kasey is a whole other kind of cat. So I asked Her, how can Kasey be my sister? We need to have a long talk, She told me. A talk about how you get families. Some cats have the same mother and dad, She said, but some get brand new homes after they are born, like Smudge's sibs, who went to live with LW. Only Frankie stayed with Smudge. Kasey and I had different moms, but went to live in the same place at the esspeeceeay. That is where He and She found us and brought us home. Later, we got cousins, so our family is quite big now. He and She got their family the same way. They have children and especially grandchildren who needed grandparents. Everyone needs grandparents, She says, and the more the better. That's why some of Hers have three! I know She loves them all, and they fill Her heart with warm. She says spoiling grandkids is what Grans are for, so even if they don't live right by Her, She wants to spoil them all. I hope you know what that means. They do not really get spoiled, like old kibbles. That means that She is always there to love them and tell them they are important. Sometimes that takes a Mars Bar or something! Don't worry, Coffs, She says. I only have one brother, but I have sisters of my heart, too. That makes me feel better about Kasey. I believe I will go chase her right now. Bye.

The Cold is Back.

Yes, everyone, it is cold outside, and She is dressed in her uniform. That's what She calls her comfy pink pants and top. They are really warm. She has a purple uniform, too. It feels good to get on Her tummy when She has these clothes on, so I have been getting lots of snuggles today. She only went out for a little while, and when She came back, She had new glasses. She showed them to us, but I could hardly tell them from the old ones. Don't tell Her, because she is really happy wilth them. She can read the writing on the TV, and She won't have to ask Him what does it say.
He went out today, as well. He went to play bridge with some friendly people. She is glad that His thinking is good enough to play bridge, because that is where He went when He lost His thinking that time. He is getting interested in things, and She just loves that. Don't get any projects that cost money, She tells Him. She is very fussy about money.
They got a letter from Mazie today, and that always makes Her tickled pink. Mazie is very polite about sending letters when she gets a package.
She sounds as if She is getting colder. I had better go and give her some snuggles. Cheery-bye.

Stalking Cats

What a happy day we had! She went to lunch with Deena's Mom and brought home a pair of slippers that look like cat faces. She put them on, and I could not wait to stalk Her toes! The cat faces have little whiskers sticking out, so I can bat them with my paw. But mostly I just creep up on them and pounce, then run away! They are very much fun for me, and they make Her say aaahhh. I was sorry to hear that our dog-cousin, Deena is not feeling well, and has to take medicine. I am wishing lots of love for Deena. Kasey says, hmph. Where are the treats.
Besides Deena, Smudge's Mom is sick. Not only that, but OperaGirl is ailing as well. It makes Her sad to hear about all these sicknesses, but She is so glad it was not last week, when the big Eddie festival was going on! What do you think, Coffster, She says to me. Is that a selfish thing to say? I told Her that S'sM and her OG probably feel the same way. That seems to help her.
She is waiting for LW'sMom to tell Her how to put Her pictures on the computer so that She can see all her Grandchildren who were at the Eddie meeting. And He has gone to a writers meeting, which makes Her glad that He is interested again.
I'm going to stalk those cat-face slippers some more. Addy Ose.

Cats and Crones

Did you know that some people think Crones mean witches? Well, not HER Crones. These Crones are wise older women (W.O.W.) in the 3d stage of the Maiden-Mother-Crone cycle. She made that very clear to me when I asked why Crones make Her so happy. These Crones are Her friends who have lunch together and have meetings to give each other Crone therapy. That is because they all have experience in the world and can listen to each other. She told me that sometimes that is all that therapy is, someone who will listen to you and say there there. They have a meeting tonight, and will get coffee-the-drink and something good to eat. Kasey says the poor Crones are going to have to listen about Eddie. I'll tell you tomorrow. Kasey may be right.
He went to a place today to get some special care for his mother. She is very weak and He says her thinking is all gone. She didn't say anything to that, but I saw her kind of bite Her lip. So no one thinks his mother is going to get better. She is 93. I am only 7.
Her Opera Girl took a lot of pictures when they had their nice evening, and will send some special ones to Her. She said that's just what She needs - more pictures of Eddie. I think that was a joke. Kibbles are calling me. Toodles.

Thinking Day Cats

The nice thing about this day is the Thinking People meet, and They love that! She was especially glad that He was able to go with Her. The Thinking People are all good friends, and each month they meet and have a big talk about a topic. One person gets a topic each month, and today the topic was His. He thought up a really good topic, and everyone thought, then told what they thought. She says it exercises Her brain to be with these smart people! Kasey and I do not want to go with them, because where they go, the people have a cat. It is a beautiful cat, She told us, who is the same kind of cat as Smudge. But She says that cat would not like strange cats coming to her house. I kind of know how she feels, because the only cats I like to come to our house are our cousins - Smudge and Katy-Next-Door.
She is very happy that He and She have time to spend together. She worries about Him, because his memory is kind of bad sometimes. They think it is from the medicine, but the doc says it will be worse if He stops taking it. They have been friends with each other for a very long time.
She wonders about all the people She met last week, and wishes She could talk to all of them some more. Maybe when I win the lotto, She says. I guess you know what that means.
I think some snuggles would do Her good about now. Ciaio.

Busy Monday Cats

We were up rather early today, because the Eddie thing was over and it was back to reality for us. When She had her bagel, and I had my butter, we had a bit of business to take care of. It was something She calls taxes, and we had to scurry and find all kinds of papers. After all the scurrying and finding, She still needs to wait for one more paper. What She is hoping is that the taxes will send money to Her instead of Her sending it to them. She is very fussy about money. She needs to pay some money to Smudge's Mom and it has Her sad, because She thought She had it in Her pockets, but She forgot and left it at home. What a doofus thing to do. (snerk)
Another thing we had to do today was help Katy'sMom. The people where Katy's Boy goes to school were not nice to K'sM, and She wants to help clear that up. Everyone should be nice to K'sM, especially at school, where there are children learning how to behave.I'm glad I don't have to go to school. Kasey could use a few lessons on how to behave, but They just treat her as if she were a nice cat. Hmmph.
I am knackered after all this work, and will get a few kibbles and then a nap. TTYL

Purring Cats

Finally, She is home. She has been gone so long that I was afraid She would have forgotten me, and I hid in the closet when I heard Her come home. No need to worry. She came into the closet and said where's my darling boy, and I put up my paws and gave Her a snuggle. Then everything was fine again. Of course, Kasey had no such worries, and immediately demanded treats and told Her it was about time She got home!
She told me She had lots of fun with Smudge'sMom, and with Her OperaGirl. Smudge'sMom picked a perfect place for them to sleep, and OperaGirl picked a perfect place for them to have something to eat while they got to know each other. She loved every one of Her computer friends, and so did S'sM. One of Her computer friends had to come a long way, and that friend is hurting and doesn't come to many things. I know tht She is so glad that this brave girl came to visit and see Her beloved Eddie that it made Her cry. In a good way. I heard Her tell Him how funny and smart Eddie's show was, and that now She loves him even more. He liked the candy from the British Store (remember that?) and he shook Her hand. And he shook the hand of the Brave Girl, as well, and was kind to her. That made Her cry again. (Still in a good way). Oh, I am so glad She had a good time, but I am so glad She came back. Ah Dyoo.

The Cat Explains

For those of you who like to read my stories, I have to explain that I won't be able to write one tomorrow, maybe even not the next day, either. Here is why. When She goes away, She will leave Her computer shut down. Since the person wrote a sneak message on Her computer, She has had a trick to get it to turn on. I don't know that trick. Don't worry, I will still be watching for interesting things for my next story. If you wonder why I don't use His computer, it is because He never has it on when He isn't using it.
So, Early tomorrow, He will take Her to Smudge's house, and She and Smudge's Mom will be on their way. That will be the first joy of her day. Then, She will meet up with her Opera Girl and a bunch of their computer friends and have something to eat. She already knows She will be too excited to eat, but She wouldn't miss this for the World! That will be Her second joy. And finally, She and all Her computer-now-real-life friends will go to see Her beloved Eddie! A day full of joys is a good day! He and I will miss Her. Kasey won't care. Unless She brings treats, that is.
So I'll get back to you in a couple of days. Until then, enjoy the warmer weather, and be nice to your cats. ByeBye.

Cats Prepare

Kasey and I are getting ready for Her to go away with Smudge's Mom. Remember, I told you She went and got stuff at the British Store? Well, today She went and had Her toes painted red and Her fingers cleaned up. She had to pick up some supplies to take along, too. I guess She wants Her Eddie friends to see happy toes. And She knows She will see Her beloved Eddie, but the question is - Will he see Her? Her toes and fingers are ready, just in case!
Another thing They did today was to have a guy come and check their heater. They had to pull down the stairs to the big room up there, and oh, my word - did Kasey want to go up to see what was going on. Luckily, the stairs mad a big noise, so Kasey was cautious. That cat did try to make the leap, but He caught her. If she were a smart cat, she would have been in the closet with me. Kasey is a very strange sister.
So now She is getting ready for Her dinner. They will fix their own things tonight, but tomorrow She will make gumbo with lots of vegetables. When He takes his out, She will put some meat in Her part. I like Her gumbo, and I know She will give me a taste. More news tomorrow. Poodle Tip (Get it?)

British Cats

The place where She went today was called The British Store. British is a kind of place VERY far away, but Her beloved Eddie is British, and so is Mazie's other Grandma, and so is Eddie-Puss's Mom. So She went to this store that has things that are British. She wanted to get some special things to take to Eddie when She sees him on Thursday. I wonder about that, because he can get British things any time he wants, and She has to go to a special store. People have told Her that Eddie gets kind of red in the face when you give him stuff. She doesn't care. In fact, She says that if he can run 43 Marathons, he can stand some special Grandma treatment. She was very happy that Mable'sMom went with Her, because it is a long ride, and M'sM is fun to talk to. After they left the British Store, they went to a special place to eat their brunch. Oh, it was so delicious that She made me drool when She told us about it. A nice thing was that M'sM got a cinnamon roll that took up the whole plate, and she shared it with Her. What She told Him was that She may never eat another cinnamon role in Her life, because it could never be as good as this one!
Today was a special day, because it is about a man who thought everyone should be nice to each other. He and She feel that way, too. I tried to explain this to Kasey, but she didn't care. I will be nice, though, and go give Her some snuggles. Ciao for now.

Desktop Cats

When She is typing on Her computer, Kasey and I sometimes get up there with Her. Kasey asks for treats and I ask for snuggles, and we both like our brushing. I like it a lot, and Kasey acts like she doesn't, but she does. Don't tell Kasey I told you that! So, today we were up there when Mazie's Mom called to tell Her about Mazie and the help that the school is giving them so that Mazie can get into the class for smart kids. Mazie is very smart! If She had to go over there to the place-too-far-to-visit, She would, and make them put Mazie into the smart class! Mazie and She miss each other very much. We do all we can to make Her feel better.
I'll tell you one thing we don't have to help Her with - Her trip to see Her special people. She says She will call it Eddie and The Blatheren Gatheren, and then She laughs. She is happy just to think about it. One thing She knows is that every day is important, so She doesn't wish a day away. When you are a very old person with aches and pains, you love every minute when you feel fine! She says She doesn't mind being fat, because Her Grandma was a dumpling-lady, too, and she is comfy with it. Carrying around all the exptra pounds does slow Her down, though, and She is sorry about that.
I believe I will crawl into Kasey's Inbox and have a little nap. (snerk) Later, gator.

Cat Report

This was a nice day, because She was home all day. We had several assorted snuggles, and we knew we would see Mable's Mom later. M'sM comes to help Katy's Boy, who is right next door. It was fun for Her to show Her precious cup from OperaGirl, and some of Her great Eddie pictures. It is fun for Her to think about OperaGirl and The Steffer and the AustraliaGirl who will be seeing Her beloved Eddie tonight in a big city very far away. Here's what She says - when one of us sees Eddie, we all feel happy about it! Wouldn't it be nice for them all to feel happy in five days when She and Smudge's Mom meet OperaGirl and lots of other Eddie Friends? I can guess that they will.
So tonight is spaghetti night, and She has to get that ready. She wanted Mable'sMom to stay for dinner, but she had to take Mable home. Mable was in her Mom's car while M'sM visited. We are not interested in having Mable come in, because she is a big dog and she doesn't like cats. We would have to spend all her visit time in the closet!
They have a show with another guy doing comedy for their movie tonight, and that will make it a perfect day for all of us. I'm going to go and wait for some spaghetti. I'll tell you what Her friends say about the show tonight. So, bye now.

Rainy Day Cat II

Today has been one of those gray and rainy days that make me glad I'm an indoor cat. I have been able to move from one cozy spot to another, including a stop on Her arm and shoulder for a nice nap. He and She weren't as lucky, though. He had to go to some kind of meeting, and She had to go stock up on spaghetti for His Saturday Special Supper. You know She has to get a certain kind, because He only eats vegetables and healthy pasta. She also stocked up on frozen meatballs to add to Her dish. When She was putting them in the freezer, She told me Her Italian Grandmother was spinning in Her grave. I am not sure what that means. Can you figure it out?
She will have to calm down about this trip to see Her beloved Eddie. It is about all She talks about, and every day She thinks about it some more. On Monday, She and Mable'sMom are going kind of far to get some special candy that Eddie likes. She can only find it at a certain store that has things that come from Eddie's country. He comes from farther than Mazie's house. Across a big ocean, which is a lot of water.
That made me thirsty, so I have to go and get a big drink from my silver cup. TTYL

Cat s Are Back!

I learned A new word this week. It is frustration, and She explained that it is when you are having a problem and not getting anywhere when you try to fix it, and after awhile you want to scream. That is how She spent the week until today, when a very nice guy named Jim came and made Her computer work again. She was using His, but He needs to use it, too, and so She and I had to wait, and - well - I fell asleep. That's why I didn't write my story yesterday.
So today the computer worked just fine, until She turned it back on and couldn't get to Her internet again. I went and hid under a table when THAT happened. Luckily, She figured out what was wrong, Keep your paws crossed that it keeps working!
Also, She went to get Her eyes examined, and they put in stuff that made it hard for Her to see for awhile. It's OK now, and She is back to singing One More Week til Eddie! She can't wait to have a fun ride with Smudge's Mom and visit with Her Opera Girl! She will visit with some other computer friends, as well. She is so happy that I won't even mind being lwft behind. I can get my snuggles from Him for a couple of days, I guess.
I can smell something cooking that is not vegetables. Must go and check. Toodles.

Puzzled Cats

Yesterday, someone got on Her space and sent a wicked message, and when She tried to fix it, the computer company wouldn't let Her use Her computer. I guess She found out how I feel when She won't let me get on to write my story. Here's the puzzling part. She spent 2 hours yesterday and 4 hours today, and it is STILL not fixed. She talked to a big bunch of people, and everyone sent Her to someone else, until She talked to some boss, who said She has to send a whole bunch of information, and then in a couple of days, they would fix it. Have you ever seen Her get mad? Well, I did. She told the boss person that they call themselves a communications company, but their communication was pathetic. That means She doesn't like them. Luckily, He left His computer on, so I could write my story, even though it's kind of late. She was so mad She didn't even say nine days to Eddie except once.
Tomorrow will be better, though. She will go to school to help Katy's Boy, and then She will have lunch with Her beloved Crones. That will save the day!
I'll try to let you know what happens tomorrow. I hope I won't be puzzled for much longer. Chow.

Wary Cats

What a day! When She checked Her email this morning, someone had found the list of a bunch of Her friends, and sent them a letter saying She wanted them to send Her money! She was very busy all morning trying to get it to be alright. She told us She must learn to beware of these emergencies. She said they were hackers, and who knows how far this thing will go. It is funny to me, because I have always been the careful one, wary of everything, and She has told me not to be so wary. I guess She is singing a different meow today. Well, She feels bad enough, so I won't laugh at Her anymore - at least for today.
On top of the hackers, She got a call from the place where His mother lives. They said she wasn't taking her medicine, and she has a fever. At first, She was going to say good, but knew that would be mean, so She told them to do what is best for her, and told Him about it when He came home.
We don't even remember our other moms anymore. We are Their kitties now.
I need to send a note out to my cousins. We are lucky cats, because our people are kind and easy to train. Poor Katy's Husband - he doesn't have a nice warm place to stay. If He didn't feed him - well I don't know what would happen.
What is that she is singing now? Ten days to Eddie? Oh, that's right. She is chuffed. (snerk)

Excited Cats

Kasey and I are so excited for Her! She is very close to going on a car-ride with Smudge's Mom to a place very far away, where they will have a wonderful time! What She told Him is that She will have more fun than the law allows! Don't worry. That is a joke, because She would not break the law, and neither would Smudge's Mom. They are just going to meet some friends who also love Her Eddie, and they will see his show together. Her beloved Opera Girl is coming from so very far that she has to come in an airplane. Opera Girl is helping to arrange all the details, so this will be a grand party, with love sticking out all over it.
We were also glad that She had brunch with Mable's Mom today. M'sM is very talented at working with students with glitches, like Katy's Boy. All together, they will help K'sB so much that Katy'sMom will feel better.
Right now She and He are getting ready to have a party with Deena's Mom and Deena's Boy. They are so excited and happy about that! AND He will get His spaghetti!
I am going to nap, now, so I won't miss Them so much while they are gone. Airy va derchy.

Wedding Cats

Today was the wedding that She has been waiting for. She couldn't stop talking about it when She got home. He and She were gone most of the day, but I have enough info for my report. First, even though the weather was really nice, it took them too long to get there, and tthe boys helped them hurry in and get seats. She was afraid the boat would sail without them, but they got there only about 3 minutes late. Everyone was so kind to Them, and when She saw Mazie, She almost couldn't stop hugging her to let her do her flower thing! Mazie dropped rosepetals where the bride walked, and the wedding was very nice. The man who did the wedding was the guy in charge of the boat. She loved that. Then they had food and coffee-the-drink. The boat people got Him a special plate with vegetableswhich She was happy about, then They had some nice cake. The boat took them on a ride all over the place, then they came back and got out. Because both of the wedding people like a show called Star Wasrs, they left the boat under an arch of light sabers, while the guys holding the sabers hummed the theme from Star Wars. Everyone was laughing and crying. I think She hugged her Mazie about 50 times today. She knows it will be a long time before She hugs her again, but Her heart go filled back up with the Mazie part today. I have to go, because She really needs a snuggle about now. Ahoy, mate.

Friday, January 8, 2010

Tomorrow

As many nice things that have happened today don't compare to how She is feeling about tomorrow. Do you remember that He and She are going to ride on a boat while Mazie's big brother gets married to his friend? Well, She would not want to miss that, even though She is not fond of boats. But the thing that has Her heart singing is that She will see Her beloved Mazie! Even though they moved very far away - too far to visit - they are coming back here to see the wedding. Mazie is in her heart, you see. Kasey and I are in Her heart, too, and so is He. She would be just as sad if we went too far away to visit. So tomorrow, Her heart will feel just right. And Mazie's brother will be happy, because his friend is just exactly right for him. Mazie will be doing something with flowers in the wedding, She told Him. She even forgot to whine about the cold!
She went to the school to talk about Katy'sGirl, and everything there was fine. More teachers should be like K'sG's teachers, She told Him. They are teacher like She was, She said.
I will tell you how much She and He liked the wedding after They get home tomorrow. For right now, I am going back to the couch to get in my special spot. TaTa.

Again With the Cold?

I am so sick and tired of the cold! Jibber jabber jibber jabber - It's COLD. Well, here in the house, where Kasey and I are trying to nap, it is quite nice and warm, and all Her talk about the cold isn't going to make it any warmer outside! Now She says She is worried about the pipes! He tries to tell Her they are going to be fine. That usually makes Her feel OK. Just between you and me, though, I think She is thinking about Mazie and hoping there is no problem with getting to that boat on Saturday. At least it takes Her mind off Her beloved Eddie and Dallas for a while! Another thing that is important is Katy's Girl. She is going to the school tomorrow to help make sure K'sG is ready to go to the next school. With Mable's Mom helping Katy's Boy, she is comfy about everything next door. Sometimes She gets kind of sad about the way the schools work. Here's what She says - Fifty years ago things were better than they are now, and they seem to just keep makiing them worse. Why should a nice boy like Katy's Boy have trouble in school when it isn't his fault that he has a glitch. I think I know what that means, and I hope you do. As a matter of fact, I believe Kasey has a glitch. Maybe it is not her fault that she is a rude, selfish cat. Well, I don'[t have a glitch, and I am a happy cat. Or I will be when She stops talking about the cold. I'll try to coonvince Her to stay at home tomorrow night. I'll let you know. Bye now.

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

The Topic is COLD

Everywhere you go, every time you put on the TV, every phone call - the only thing everyone talks about is cold. I guess it is strange to have so much cold here in the place where we live. One thing that She is worried about is seeing her beloved Mazie on Saturday. Since the wedding where they will see her is on a boat, and the weather is cold even way up here away from the water, She is worried that everyone will freeze. In fact, She told Him, maybe they had better go there the day before and not have to worry about driving if it is dangerous. Kasey and I will vote against that, if They are serious. They need to stay right here with Their cats! After all, if they leave early and are very careful.............well, there is just no need to leave us alone all night.
And She isn't just cold. She HAS a cold. not a good state of affairs. She did go to the school to talk about Katy's boy, although She felt a little sniffly. She was glad She went, though, because there was a lot of information to think about. She just loves helping those kids. Nothing else would make Her go out in the cold!
Kasey is having a nap on the sofa, so she can be by Her feet. I won't get close to Kasey, because I might get biffed, since Kasey is quite rude. But I will find a cozy place. Chow fo now.

Cats Count Blessings

Kasey and I were biffing each other and complaining that we were bored. I forgot She can't stand the word *b****d! She sat us down and explained about counting blessings. We all deserve a chance to whine a little, She says, but before you get feeling sorry for yourself, count your blessings. Here is what She means. Kasey and I have a nice house, with comfy places to nap and plenty of good kibbles. We don't have to stay out in the rain, like Katy's husband. No one scolds us very much, and even when He gets annoyed, He says I love you, but you have to stop that. Whatever it is. If we don't get all the attention we want, we wouldn't trade that for all our blessings! Wouldn't it be lovely, She says, if people learned that? Sure, maybe you feel sad and bad for awhile, but then you need to count your blessings. Maybe you didn't get that shrimp you wanted, but you don't have to be hungry - or kill some bird or mouse to get full. Maybe your tummy hurts, but you get almost all the snuggles you want until you feel better. When you gack up a hairball it isn't nice, but someone cleans it right up. Maybe your Cousins are too far away, but love doesn't mind distances. At least that's what She says, and She counts Her blessings every day. And She counts us!
I'm going to get on Her lap right now. That lap is a blessing lots of cats don't get. Kasey is already curled up by Her feet! So, bye now.

Health Care Cats

It started last night, when She was coughing and sniffling. She has some medicine that She likes when She feels like She has a cold, and She took some last night. I can't get a cold now, She said. It isn't a good time. So She put away Her to-do list and decided to stay in and get rid of Her cold. Lots of people gave Her suggestions, but She stuck to Her favorite medicine, and just took the advice about the soup, and by supper time, She felt a lot better. Of course, Kasey and I stayed very close to Her and gave Her lots of snuggles and massages, which was certain to help, and She believes She will be OK tomorrow. How could I not be, She says, with two good doctors like you and Kasey. I have to admit, though Kasey didn't give Her snuggles, she did stay close to Her all day, and that is major for Kasey.
While She was resting, He went to find out about all those tests He took about His thinking, and they told Him maybe He should not try to keep going to His school. He should find something else He likes to do. She looked very worried about His thinking, but it turns out that He is OK with it. He deserves to not be worried, She says. He got some very high marks on His thinking tests, but not on His drafting skills. That is what He used to do for a long long time. Now, maybe He will find something else that would make Him happy. All of this test stuff makes me glad I'm a cat. I know the cat business inside and out! TTYL

Fierce Cats!

We are usually not terribly fierce. There is usually not much to be fierce about, but today, we were faced with an intruder, and had to make mean faces. Here is what happened. I was looking out the window, while Kasey was on the table, begging Her for treats. Suddenly, a cat appeared in our yard! I was very alert, but didn't get fierce until the cat climbed up on some bricks and got face to face with me. Only a double-pane window kept me from being attacked in my own home! I started to pat on the window to scare the cat away. I don't know why She laughed, because I was quite serious! Do you know what the intruder did then? That wicked cat started patting the window on the outside, right by my paws! She said, Coffs, he wants to shake hands. Hmph. By this time, Kasey had become curious, and got on the window sill next to me. Kasey hissed and made a really really mean face, and the other cat ran away! Then Kasey biffed ME! I tried to tell her it wasn't my fault, but that's the way Kasey is. We chased each other all over the place then. It made Her laugh harder, and call Him to watch. It was then we realized we were being fierce with the wrong cats. WE aren't intruders!
I am completely worn out, now. I will go have a nap, and hope for an easier day tomorrow! Later.

Spaghetti Day Cats

This is a good day, because He is getting His spaghetti today. He knows He won't get it next Saturday, because They are going kind of far away to a wedding of Mazie's big brother and his lovely girl. It has made Her so excited that She can hardly wait, because it means Her beloved Mazie will be here from her new house that is too far away for Them to go see. Things are getting over from the excitement of the holidays, and all Their wonderful visits with good friends and family, and She can concentrate on making His spaghetti and waiting for next week.
Last night They stayed up late again, but did not sleep so late today. She was happy to go and visit with Mable's Mom. Mable came to the restaurant with her Mom, but she stayed in the car. They don't let dogs into restaurants, She said. They don't let cats, either, which is why She doesn't take us. We would not like to wait in the car, though. We want our soft, snuggly places. What She calls us is Comfort Cats. That sounds good to me! When They stayed up, They watched Eddie in one of his shows, and they laughed quite a lot. I laughed, too, but at Them, not Eddie. It is hard for me to understand him, because he doesn't sound like Them. Eddie does understand cats, though.
I must go and see how the spaghetti is coming along. TTYL

Cats Have a New Year

Since They were up kind of late last night, They slept longer than usual, and I had to help Them wake up. They were very grateful that I could help them like that, because They gave us both snuggles, butter and treats. Now it is a new year, but it doesn't seem different to us. She goes on about Her trip to see Her beloved Eddie and He gets ready to go back to His school She has leftover food from The birthday party for Cleo's Girl, and She is making plans to have lunch with Mable's Mom tomorrow. That always means leftover food to bring home. She says She is eating better now that He only eats vegetables, because She doesn't have to share her take-home food with Him. Those vegetables must be working, because His doctor told Him He is doing great!
I was lucky I could write my story today, because She was here on the computer a long time. I guess Her friends send happy new year messages, and She loves that. So She writes messages to them, and today there were a lot.
She might get mad at me for telling you this, but when it is almost time for dinner, She is still in Her nightshirt and Her fluffy soft pink robe. (snerk) I never have to change my clothes, and neither does Kasey.
I am going to see if there are any laps available for me to get pets. Oh ree vwar.
