Kasey and I were biffing each other and complaining that we were bored. I forgot She can't stand the word *b****d! She sat us down and explained about counting blessings. We all deserve a chance to whine a little, She says, but before you get feeling sorry for yourself, count your blessings. Here is what She means. Kasey and I have a nice house, with comfy places to nap and plenty of good kibbles. We don't have to stay out in the rain, like Katy's husband. No one scolds us very much, and even when He gets annoyed, He says I love you, but you have to stop that. Whatever it is. If we don't get all the attention we want, we wouldn't trade that for all our blessings! Wouldn't it be lovely, She says, if people learned that? Sure, maybe you feel sad and bad for awhile, but then you need to count your blessings. Maybe you didn't get that shrimp you wanted, but you don't have to be hungry - or kill some bird or mouse to get full. Maybe your tummy hurts, but you get almost all the snuggles you want until you feel better. When you gack up a hairball it isn't nice, but someone cleans it right up. Maybe your Cousins are too far away, but love doesn't mind distances. At least that's what She says, and She counts Her blessings every day. And She counts us!
I'm going to get on Her lap right now. That lap is a blessing lots of cats don't get. Kasey is already curled up by Her feet! So, bye now.
