American Cats

This is another one of those special days that humans keep having. It is about being an American and being proud that we are independent. There was a big war about it, She says. I kind of remember last year, and that a bunch of fireworks went off, and you know how I am about big noises like that. I spent most of the time in the closet. This year, because it has not rained in such a long time, we aren't going to have fireworks. I don't mind telling you that is fine with me. Sure, I wish it would rain, because that's what He and She want, but it is OK if it waits until it's past fireworks time.
One thing people do for this day is have picnics and cook outside. She never cooks outside, but now She says it is too hot and dry for anybody to cook outside. She is going to have some Mexican food, just to show that She thinks being a good American means appreciating our neighbors. Or maybe She just feels like having Mexican food.
Remember when I told you about his sore ears? All the dentists and doctors have had their opinions and medicines, but His poor ear is still sore. I know how it feels to have a sore place and how it makes you want to bite someone. I hope He finds an answer for His sore ear very soon.
I think I'll go and see what Kasey is doing. Chow for now.
