Today I want to talk about something that has been on TV almost every day. It is about guns. I have learned a lot about guns in the last few weeks, and Casey and I have decided something. We don't like guns. I have learned that guns are machines that you put a little metal thing in, and the way the machine is made, you pull a trigger and a little hammer that pushes the metal thing out so fast that you can't see it. When it hits something, it makes a hole. Someone thought up the idea a really long time ago, and our country put it in our rules that regular people could have them. Just like other machines, they have improved the guns until they can shoot out the little metal things and kill animals and people by the gazillions. Casey and I agree that certain people could be allowed to have them, because there are some bad guys out there. Police learn to point them carefully in case they have to stop a bad guy from doing bad-guy stuff.What we don't get is why everyone should have them. She doesn't get it, either, but She says it is in the rules, so there you are. He learned to shoot guns when He was a soldier in the Marine Corps. He doesn't want any guns now. She doesn't want any guns, either, and I am glad about that. Our President wants to fix it so that people don't get enough guns and metal things to kill a lot of people at once. Just like always, the guys who must vote on the rules don't like any of our president's ideas. Here is my advice for you. If you have a gun, be sure you know how to use it. Keep it hidden so children and cats can't have an accident with it. Also, if you feel like shooting another person, go see a doctor first.
