Hungry Cats
Did you know that being hungry doesn't always mean that you want something to eat? You can be hungry for other things. Let me explain. This morning I felt hungry and tried to wake Her up a little early. I had to give Her two massages, but finally She rose and shone. She looked in my dish, because She wondered if I was insisting because I was out of kibbles. No, there were plenty of kibbles in my dish. We had our butter, and I got up on the table and gave Her some extra snuggles while She read the paper. When She was ready to visit with Her computer friends, I got up on Her desk and asked for pets. She gave me a lovely brushing, but I still didn't jump down. I stepped on Her keyboard and made everything capital letters. I could see that She was getting impatient, so I hopped down. In a few more minutes, I jumped up again, and She finally caught on. She let me lie on Her desk and She snuggled me so I could fall asleep. I think She played a game with Her free hand while I slept on the other one. After awhile, I woke up and finally felt full. You see, I was hungry for snuggles and pets. The brushing was nice, but it wasn't enough. I wonder if people ever get hungry for things that are not things to eat. I think the best thing in the world is to have somebody who will feed your feelings as well as your tummy. I believe that is why He and She and Kasey and I are all lucky to have each other. I think it is why She loves Her friends. They seem to know what She needs, just like She does for me. I am perfectly fine now, and I know where I can get snuggles when I am hungry for them. Cheerio, Mates.
