2010 Cats
It is the last day of the year 2010. At least it is here where we live. Her beloved OzGirl has already finished with this day. I don't get all these different times, but She says never mind, Coffs. Just enjoy where you are and let the rest of the World do the same. It has been a good year for us. Everyone here stayed pretty healthy, and He and She had fun with wonderful friends. At the srart of 2010, She went with Smudge'sMom to see our Eddie. Then She had another birthday. She called it Her trombones birthday. It is from some song She likes. Cleo'sGirl graduated from college, and Mable'sBoy graduated from High School. She went on lots of brunch crawls, which means She used coupons to try out different restaurants at low prices. Even though it was impossible, She went to Her OperaGirl's house to visit and see our Eddie in a play. OG took great pictures, and we have them all over our walls. We sure love that Eddie - and that OperaGirl! They had lots of fun with LW's family, including a few restaurants and Christmas. Two of Her beloved Crone-sisters died in 2010, which made Her lonesome for them. His mother had a hard time, and had to move to a closer place. As if She weren't already not His mother's greatest fan, dealing with l'ancienne according to the lawyer's directions caused hurt feelings with Mable'sMom, and they are not friends anymore. That is really sad. Their church had some real troubles, and that broke Her heart a little more. But She still has Her grandchildren, Her Eddie-people and Her thinking People, Smudge'sPeople, LW'sPeople and Cleo'sPeople, and a bunch of other friends. She still has Him, and She still has Kasey and me, so She says it wasn't a bad year after all. Happy Next Year everbody. Happy New Year.

Party Cats
This is a big time of year for birthday parties. It will be the birthday of a new year, after all. But before that, it is the birthday of Cleo'sGirl, and the birthday of Katy'sMom. As soon as it gets midnight tomorrow, it will be the birthday of Her beloved OperaGirl! It will be Her OG's birthday an hour earlier there than where She lives, so She might just call her up on the phone! Of course, maybe Her OG will be out at a big party. A lot of people have a party that night. He and She drink some special grape juice that has bubbles in it and have a nice smooch when the clock says midnight. But that is tomorrow. For tonight, They are going to eat dinner with Cleo'sPeople, to celebrate that birthday. Usually They do that on the next day, but They don't want to go out that night, because there will be people who have been celebrating with drinks that make them drive funny. He and She don't want to have an accident, so They will stay home. Besides, it is supposed to rain. They really don't mind, because They have had lots and lots of parties before now.
Since They are going out for Their dinner tonight, Kasey and I will be satisfied with our kibbles again, and have high hopes for tomorrow. Surely they will have something delightful to celebrate The New Year's Birthday, and Her OperaGirls. I wiill suggest fish to Her. Poodle Top (get it?)

Rainy Day Cats
From the time we woke up this morning until right now, it has been a rainy, rainy day. She decided it was a good day to stay home and be cozy, because that's the kind of day it is. She watched the news to see how things were where Her far-away grandchildren live. She saw that it was pretty cold in most places, and where the blizzard was there was a mess. She even checked where Her OzGirl lives, and the weather guy said sunny. She hoped that was right. Most of Her beloveds were cold, though. After all, He said, it IS winter. She agreed with him and kept on checking.
A funny thing happened later. All at once Her eyes went funny. It felt like they went cross-eyed, She told Him, but He looked and said no, they looked right. It must be something inside Her head. She decided to lie down, curl up with Her lovely cat (ahem) and just have a rest. After about an hour, Everything looked right again. That's a good thing, because She has Crones tonight and She wouldn't want to miss it. Especially since She got an actual eMail from Cleo'sMom, who never writes an eMail! Santa brought C'sM a computer, so now they can talk in eMails.
Since it is Crones night, She will not be fixing dinner, but Kasey and I don't mind kibbles. Some cats don't get nice kibbles like we do, and they have to eat mice and bugs. Eeeew. Later Gator.

Happy Thinking Day Cats
One thing that always cheers Him and Her up is going to their regular meeting of their Thinking Friends. They spend a few minutes telling how things have been since the last meeting, and then someone asks an important question that makes everyone think. Today's question was an expecially good one for Her, because She has strong feelings about it. He and She were talking about the way people use words, but I couldn't understand all of it. I just know they were very pleased with the whole morning. One of the Thinking People is a very sweet lady who is going to be in the hospital, and She plans to tell the rest of the Crones about it, so they can help cheer up this lady.
After They got home and ate lunch, She started to read, and I thought She would appreciate a visit from a charming cat (ahem), so I hopped on over to give Her a snuggle, and curled up on Her lap for a snooze She said it was just the perfect thing for me to do to put a nice touch on a Thinking Day.
Today is Smudge'sDad's birthday, and She tells me to call him M. Whatever you want to call him, She loves Smudge'sFamily and wants M to have a really nice birthday. She said They gave M the World, but I don't see how They could. There are mysteries Kasey and I will never solve, I guess. Going to check on dinner now. Toodle Pip

Cat-in-the-Box
I have decided that the in-box on Her desk is a very pleasant place to spend my naptime. Sure, it is a bit small for me, but you would be surprised how well I can roll myself up so that I fit. There is a nice, soft towel in there, that She put down for Kasey, but Kasey got tired of hearing the clickety-clicks while She was writing to all Her friends and grandchildren. Personally, I like to be right here where She is. If I am sound asleep, I don't notice if She went to eat lunch, or have a shower, and if I get wide awake, She is usually good for an extra snuggle or some more brushing. Yes, I will stay with the in-box, at least for awhile.
He and She are having their usual end-of-month anguish over His mother's situation. What She can't believe is how How His mother comes up with a new problem every month. Now l'ancienne wants to sell the bed in her room because her room mate is in the hospital, and she says she needs the money. He tries to talk sense to her, and She doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. It will be all up to you and Kasey when I get like that, She says. I'm sure She is joking. At least I hope so!
Some really good news is that LW's next sister found the present They had for her. It was in the gift bag all the time. She said She is glad, even though She feels like a doofus.
Back in the box for me. Nighty-night.

Boxing Day Cats
The day after Christmas is called Boxing Day in the far away place where Her beloved Eddie lives. She didn't tell me why. So here we are. This has been a peculiar day, whatever you call it. First of all,I had to give her two massages before She would wake up. After we had our butter and treats, She had to write some letters and it made Her kind of sad, because She used to be kind of famous for good handwriting, but now Her writing hand shakes, even while She is writing, and Her writing looks bad. My friends won't care, She told me. The will understand what I am saying. After that She watched on TV where Her adorable Alphas were singing and playing and dancing. She had to look at it a couple of times, it was so cute. Then a guy came to fix His TV. He is a really nice guy, so I didn't have to be scared and I stayed in the in-box. It makes Him completely chuffed to have everything up-to-date and working right. It took the guy a very long time, because there is nothing like a computer to get Him talking! She and I kind of stayed in the background and let Him enjoy the guy.
When They came home from LW's house, They brought lots of good things, and She said it was Her responsibility to eat the sweet things so He wouldn't be tempted. He is not supposed to eat sweet things, and Kasey and I don't care for them, so She has to do all the work. (snerk) TTYL

Christmas Update Cats
Let's start with yesterday. Christmas Eve is His birthdayThey had a nice morning together with their dear (ahem) cats. They finally had all the bags full of presents ready to put into the car, and off they went to Cleo's house. In all the excitement, She turned off the computer and I couldn't write a story yesterday, but that's OK, I was knackered and went right to sleep on Her soft, pink robe. They had 7 Fishes for dinner and brought some home! It made me drool! They got wonderful presents and brought us home some. The best one was a magical bag that wiggled all around. We were kind of scared at first, but then it was fun! I wonder what is in that bag! His favorite thing is a butterscotch pie, and Cleo'sDad made one for His birthday!
Today She talked to her brother on the phone. It made Her very happy. They went to LW's house and had a fine time with the people there. She was glad LW and the sibs liked their stuff. She said She ate around a half a cow, the meat was so good - and the rest of the food was brilliant as well. LW'sMom cooks like an angel, is what He said. She fixed so many vegetables just for Him.There were also about a hundred packages of cookies and treats. As long as there are treats, She said, Christmas is not over! Kasey and I do not celebrate Christmas exactly, but we have enjoyed having all the fun of helping Them get ready, and we are especially happy for a taste of that fish. So Merry Christmas and Happy Treats!

Right Chuffed Cats
We had the most fun day today. After the usual morning stuff, She went in to turn on Her computer. Right next to Her was the mysterious package from Her OperaGirl. She said She would open it today, because the suspense was too much for all of us. She wanted to be sure Her OG had gotten the package She sent so they could open together, but She promised us we would see what was inside the very soft, easy-to-poke package. Just then the phone rang, and I thought She was going to catch on fire, She glowed so much! Her OperaGirl said the package got to her and she liked what was inside! She opened the package right then and thereShe had scissors ready, but She had to put the phone down. There were two T-shirts and a little bear dressed as a honeybee! She said now whe was *covered in bees*, just like Eddie! Both shirts had writing on, and one had long sleeves. She put the other one on right away, and put the long-sleeve one on the bed, all folded up. Of course I HAD to check it out. I sniffled it and caught a whiff of my cousins Nick and Lion on it. I sniffled it for a long time, then got on top of it and had a nap. She wasn't even mad. She wore the other one all day, even to a doc appointment with Katy'sPeople. She says She is the luckiest person in the WHOLE world. Well, Kasey and I are the luckiest cats. What a nice day it was. TaTa for now.

Crones and Cats
Every so often Her beloved Crones have an extra, special lunch, and today was their winter one. Naturally, she was happy and smiling while I got my brushing, and She let me get a drink out of the bathtub as a special treat. This lunch was closer than the old place, and it is a pretty ladies kind of place. She showed me a picture on the computer. Well, a bunch of Her Crones and Cronelets were there, and everyone really liked what they had to eat, all except Domino'sMom, who got sick. She hopes it wasn't from the food. So far, no one else is sick. She is most happy when She is with these friends - together or separate. It makes Her smile all the rest of the day. I took advantage of Her good spirits and got in an extra snuggle.
A lot of nice things came in the mail today. He and She got letters from far-away friends. She has a great Eddie-friend who lives where there are mountains and snow. This friend sent Her some jam and some honey. She laughed, because Her Eddie talks about jam and bees a lot. This was a nice family-feeling thing, finding all these nice Eddie-people. They are all over the world, She says, and they really care about each other. I know She hopes Her OperaGirl gets the package that She sent pretty soon.
Right now, He is cutting up vegetables. She likes to get them already cut up, but He likes to chop things up. I don't hold out high hopes for dinner, because of the major amount of food She had at the Crones' lunch. So, Oddy-ose for now.

Countdawn Cats
The last of the packages came today, and He laughed out loud when She showed Him what was in the box. There were only things for NEXT year's presents. She says that is how She makes sure She will be alive for next year's packages. So now all that is left is to mark which bag is for which grandchild, and their parents, and now She can sit and worry about if the boxes She sent got there. The sweet girls who play violins got their packages, and Mazie got her package, so there are just two more to hear about. Don't worry, He brought Her plenty of chips and dip to nosh on while She waits for news from far away. And there are two adorable (ahem) cats to play with, so time will go by quickly. She promised Him that She would look in the package from Her OperaGirl on Thursday if She hasn't heard about the package yet. He is just as tantalized as we are!
He has found a good way to get extra money. He has packed up all the books, tapes and CDs that they are finished with and has sold them to the bookstore down the street. Not their precious books and things, of course. Just things they won't read again. He has already got new books, which He loves. You know, no one has mentioned presents for cats. Hmmmm. They did hear on the TV that there are cat foods that make cats sick and even die, and She got very sad, because that is what killed our cousin, Charlotte. He told us that They don't have any of that bad kind. We are happy about that. because we like not being sick. I will go see what She is making in the kitchen. Something tells me it's fish! TaTa for now.

Tantalized Cats
Mostly She was cleaning up Her gift cupboard and searching for a lost box. She got something really nice for LW's next sister, but now She can't find it. So she decided to clean everything up and open every box and bag to locate the lost box. So far, no luck. That's the sad state She was in when the postman came. Her sadness melted away when She saw the package from Her beloved OperaGirl. What could it be? He told Her to open it and find out. It is not as if they have a Christmas tree to put it under. But no. She has sent a package to Her OG, and She says She will open Her package when She knows OG's package is safely in New York City.
Kasey and I poked Her package. It feels soft and cozy. Maybe we will have a snuggle on it when She finally opens it!
They had such a great time with Smudge'sMom and M. They exchange birthday presents for the guys and Christmas presents for the ladies. She got a marvelous tea maker, and will start planning a tea party for after all the holiday fuss is over. She has to pinch Herself when She thinks She is dreaming about Her special friends and Grandchildren - and cats! Good memories of the dinner and Her soft, cozy package have made Her feel better about losing that gift. I guess Santa took it back. (snerk) - Later, gator.

Celebrate Dats
Even though the celebration of their getting married isn't until tomorrow, They are going to have a party with Smudge'sMom and M. Their marrieage is one day and one year apart. I told you They would. They use this day to exchange their Chrismas gifts, as well, but They have to wait until Friday and Saturday for the rest.
Long before She lived where She does now, She had another husband. That husband was a lot like Him - smart and nice, and he appreciated Her, but he didn't take care of himself, and so he died while they were both kind of young. When She met Him and He asked Her to get married, She made Him go to the doc to check if He was healthy. It turned out that He was, and so They got married a really lot of years ago. In all that time, They had 3 cats and 2 dogs before They met Kasey and me at the esspeeceeay. Now it is our job to take care of Them. We each do it in our own way, and They are glad.
When He asked Her to get married, He gave Her a ring that He thought up Himself, and it had 4 purple stones in it.l Over the years, She lost one of the stones. For this celebration, He took Her ring and got a new purple stone. It was a surprise, and She was tickled pink.
Well, no sharing dinner with us tonight, so we will have our kibbles and wait for another day. Shout out to our cousins. ToodlePip.

Mysterious Post Cats
Yesterday I put my story on this page. I talked about sleeping on Her fleecy soft jacket, which
She had left on the sofa. Came back for today's story, and there was no yesterday story! What happened, do you suppose? I checked it, told the machine to publish it - but no. It isn't there. I'll get over it, of course, but what if that was my best story, and you didn't get to read it?
Today's story is more about spaces. She has been working on making spaces where there used to be lots of papers. She saves all Her notes from Mazie, and they go in one place. All Her free address labels go in another place. All Her cards, including AwesommeSauce cards go int a box. It is funny how She loves those cards from Her NYSteffer. She doesn't want to send them, because She loves them so much. They only go to the very most important people. Mostly She sends eCards, which means they are on the computer. Some of Her kids don't have a computer, or don't use it. So She has to keep cards for them in a box. He wants to keep the box in His office, because He is better organized - or so He thinks. She says She knows how to operate in chaos better than He does. Are you buying that? They have anniversary plans tomorrow, with Smudge'sMom and M, but the real day is Monday for Them and Tuesday for S'sM&M. They have been married for 35 years, She says. Wow. Lucky we came to make Their lives easier now that They are old! I think I'll go give Her a snuggle now, in fact. So long, Oolong.

Smudge's House
Each one of us was happy and excited today, because She went over to Smudge's house to have tea with Smudge'sMom. She just loves Smudge'sMom, in fact She loves Smudge's whole family. We didn't get to go, and neither did He, but we knew She would tell us all about it when She got home. And we were right. A special friend of S'sM was there, visiting from a place where they have lots of snow. The 2 ladies have been friends for longer than even She has been friends with S'sM. She said She was honored to meet this friend. It was also fun for Her to have another visit with Domino'sMom, who is Smudge's oldest girl. Mostly we drank tea, ate cookies and laughed, She said. There was some very special tea, and everyone got to pick her own flavor, then there were 3 kinds of cookies. It was a perfect time, and She came home happy and full of tea and cookies.
Here's another good thing. Since He had to go to a party at His mother's place where she lives, She brought him a treat. A nice salad with only vegetables. Best of all, She got it free, because if you bought one, you got one free. Actually, she called it the cherry on top of a perfect day. That sounds kind of silly to me, but He knew what She meant.
I didn't get too excited when She had salad for Her late lunch/supper combination, but I will bet there is more chance for something good tomorrow. Stay tuned.

In-basket Coffee
I hope I can stop laughing long enough to tell you what I did today. You see, there is a wire basket on the corner of Her desk where She means to put papers to get filed. Every day, Kasey would get in that basket so that She couldn't use it. Finally She gave up and put a soft towel in there for Kasey. It is a bit too small for me, but it fits Kasey just fine. Well, today, while She was busy at Her desk, I climbed into that basket. I had to curl up pretty small, and my fur stuck out between the wires, but you should have seen the look on Kasey's face when she came to climb into her basket. I am telling you, it was funny! I hated to get out to write my story, it was so funny. But I know you are waiting to read it, so here I am.
She was up early - for Her - and has been busy all day. There is a truck coming tomorrow to pick up things for poor people, which gave Her a good excuse to clear away some of Her extra things. He still wants to save things for His garage sale, but in the meantime, She wanted to fill a bag. For some reason, She wanted to put 27 things in the bag. She managed to do that with no trouble.
She has everything ordered and sent. There was a place that makes chocolate violins, and She had to send those to Her ViolinGirl. By now they should be delivered, so I am not spoiling the surprise. I hope. I'm getting back in the in-box now. (snerk). Goodnight, everyone.

Research Cats
One thing He does every week is to go through the thing that comes with the paper that tells what is on TV. He marks it with a red pen, so they know what They should watch during the week. They like to warch TV together, and guess who the bad guy is. Well, She is going to quit getting the paper, so He will be stuck. Aha, but She gets a magazine each week that talks about TV shows. There is a problem with it, because it doesn't tell the numbers to poke to get to the program. Today, She and I sat with the book and looked at each channel, and put the numbers in the new book. In ink. She said we were doing research for Him. We looked at every channel for a few seconds, so we couldn't tell what the stories were, but it was kind of fun to watch them jump around. Our next job is to get the house nice again, so that They can have company. I may not help with that.
We really want to have a garage sale, but we can't get up enough steam to actually put a time on it. They have enough stuff to have a huge sale, if you ask me. I think one day He will just put out signs and have it. Kasey and I will stay inside and guard the house. Maybe She will get Katy'sGirl to help Her. She is just too busy to think about it now. She has to think about dinner. She has some of those orange potatoes He likes. Me? Not so much. Oh, well. TaTa for now.

Puzzled Cats
Kasey and I were looking out the window, and it is simply beautiful out. There is not a cloud in the sky, everything looks so nice and sunny. The sun spot on the floor is as warm as it is in summer - although it goes away earlier. Then She comes in the room dressed in a bunch of warm clothes.. I looked very quizzical, because I know She would melt on a sunny day like this if She went out with all those layers of clothes. When She opened the door, it felt like icicles in the air. Of course, I have never seen an icicle, but it felt very cold at the door. I scampered back to my sun spot before I got ice on my whiskers. Even Kasey was not tempted to go out. And WE have fur coats on.
When She went to the store, She said the cold weather make Her buy a lot of snacks. She got special ones for Him, that were made of healthful stuff. She got grapes for Them, and peanut-butter crackers for Herself. She says it makes Her feel cozy to have plenty of snacks. Kasey likes snacks, too. They can't get over how I don't eat the cat treats. My treat is the butter.
Good news about our cousin, Pip! She is quite happy in her new home. She has a bed and a box of toys, and her Mom says she purrs as loud as I do. They are calling her Princess Pip of Purrville. That makes all of us smile.
There is still a little warm square of sun on the floor. I'll go back and curl up in it now, before it goes away altogether. TTYL.

Last-Minute Cats
There are some packages that need to go to the Post Office, and we were busy putting finishing touches on them today. If She had Her way, everyone in the world would get a present, I think. Even with all Her shopping done, She is still looking at Her catalogs and at the sales on the computer. I wish She wouldn't do that, because it keeps us in a rush around here. But you know how She is. Do you know that some of the things She got a long time ago are now on sale? She says I don't care. I got them because they were fun for the person or cat, and not for what they cost. What if they don't have the right size, or they can't get here in time? We only have a couple of weeks.
Katy-next-door came over today with her girl, and She was tickled pink. She really loves that little girl and her family. We asked Katy to come inside, but she wasn't interested. It's a good thing. Kasey does not know anything about the holiday spirit, and probably would have given Katy a biff.
He went to see His mother today, and took her wheelchair over. L'ancienne called up later. When She asked her how she liked the new wheelchair, she didn't know what She was talking about. It is no wonder that He comes back all worn out and has to go and lie down.
I am guessing the package She brought in from the freezer is a little pie. Lucky me. Chow, bellas.

No Nonsense Cats
Today was all about sorting, finding and checking. She had ordered a present for His birthday, and found out they couldn't get it before February. Well, that just won't do. She and I searched and finally found it for sale at 2 other places - one for $5 more, and one for the same price. I'll bet you can guess which one She ordered. So that was taken care of. They got His mother a new wheelchair for her Christmas present, and He had to put it together. Kasey helped Him with that. It is a nice wheelchair, and much lighter than the one she has, so it will be easier for her to turn the wheels. He wanted to get l'ancienne an electric wheelchair, but She reminded Him that she never used the scooter one He bought her a long time ago.
We also had to raise a glass of tea to toast Deena'sMom, who is on her way to a far-away land - farther even than where Eddie lives. We are so happy for her that we had a whole bowl of water while She had tea. She got more good news from LW'sMom, who found out she can do her practice ministering just where she wanted. Also, Her OperaGirl didn't say so in so many words, but she wrote as if she felt better. Oh, sure, we were busy all day, but everything was good. Since She is making a vegetable omelet for their supper, I'll have to make do with kibbles, but They will be watching a movie, so I'll get lap time. Later, yall.

Dancing Cats
Kasey and I are actually dancing with happiness! Can you guess why? A big box came today, and it was filled with ...FISH! I told you I wouldn't give up hope! She has looked it over and picked out a nice piece of salmon to have for our dinner! Of course, she is making some cabbage-y stuff to have with it, but I don't care about that. There was a different kind of fish, as well, and I will bet we have fish whenever we want it. That will hold us until they go to Cleo's house and have seven fishes. They do that every year on His birthday, and Cleo'sMom always sends some home for us. NOW we can get into the spirit of the holidays that They keep talking about.
I wish we could send some of our mountain of fish to our new cousin Pip and our old cousins, Nick and Lion. And to Smudge and all of his sibs, even the ones at LW's house. What She says is that their Moms already take good care of them, and they will do just fine without our fish. Well, we trust Her to know these people and we are convinced that they are nice. As for Him, well He only eats vegetables, but if He wants a taste of Her fish, She will give it to him. She doesn't think a little bit of fish will spoil His balance. Yesterday and the day before were amazing days for Her and Him, but today is an awesome day for Kasey and me. Mur-see bo koo, whoever sent that fish!

What-a-Day Cats
This has been an amazing day. That makes two amazing days in a row. We are going to meow at Her until She decides to stay home tomorrow. If She keeps having days like this, She will expect an amazing day every day of the week. In fact, She already thinks about having more amazing days. He reminded Her that She thinks a lot of days are nice, but She says, yes, but not as amazing as this. You see, She went to have brunch with LW'sMom. She got lost going to this special place where LW'sMom wanted to go, but LW'sMom waited for Her and they had the loveliest time, catching up on things and making plans. for when the Alphas are out of school. LW'sMom is finished with Her school until a lot of weeks go by. That would have been enough, but they had such good things to eat that She couldn't believe Her mouth. She even got extra to bring home for Her dinner. I intend to check some of this food out for myself. For all I know, it tasted good because She was eating it with Her beloved LW'sMom.
After all of that, She went shopping for one more present, and then to the doc for one more test. If you wonder what She is like when She had a day like this - well, She is right chuffed. I got a good brushing and went to sit in the in-box on Her desk until it was time to write my story. So here we are, all ready for a quiet evening. It is fun to see Her smiling so much. That's all for now. Bye.

Drama Cats
Honestly! I thought She would never get off the line! She was having fun talking to her adorable BritishGirls, and would not stop. She does love Her BritGirls.
But I needed to tell you about the play. He and She went to see a play this morning, and one of their ThinkingGroupGuys was in it. They had such a good time that they didn't stop talking about it. In fact they stopped to have lunch so they could talk about it some mre. It is a group of old people who get together in a class and put on plays. He and She would like to do something like that. If They do, I'll tell you about it.
Kasey and I also found out that our new cousin, Pip, is a girl. She is still kind of a baby, and she only weighs as much as a bag of sugar. But the good news is, her doc says she is a healthy kitty. After her hard little life, that is really good news. Now, she will fatten up and get comfy with her new Mom.
LW'sMom should be through with her tests by now. She knows a lot of stuff, and will be an official minister pretty soon. The thing is, She says LW'sMom is a good minister now. She just needs to put in the time and get the paper. That's what She says, and He nods His head.
More non-fish for dinner. She had such a big lunch that She just wants snacks. I sighed very loudly, but She didn't respond. TTYL.

A New Cat Cousin
It was exciting today to hear about a new cousin. It is one of Her Eddie-people who found a little kitten outside. This kitten lived like our cousins Smudge and fraNkie, outside with their moms. Smudge'sMom rescued them and their sibs. Two went to live with LW and her sibs, and three stayed with Smudge'sMom, and are very happy. Now we heard about a little kittie named Pip, who was very hungry and cold. A very kind lady put Pip in a trap and brought him in. We aren't sure if Pip is a him or her, but we'll know pretty soon. Because Pip was so small and hungry, his new Mom took him to the cat-doc. At first Pip was very scared and fussed about the trap, but when his new Mom took him in where it was warm, he felt better right away. I know what he went through, and I still get a bit scared, but I love the home where Kasey and I came to live. Pip will love his new home, too. I would promise him, if he could read my story. Maybe his new Mom will tell him.
Beside that, it has been a regular day, without too much going on beside the usual stuff. I got a nice brushing, Kasey and I had a nap on the couch, and She kept getting ready to go to places on Her calendar. No one mentioned what is for dinner. I am giving up on the whole fish idea. Well, someday it will be fish. Oh, and today She saw pictures of Her beloved Eddie with all his hair shaved off for a movie. She says he looks cute. He said of course, he is Eddie. Hmmm?

Details Cats
Today was all about details. We had to get things done, and some packages mailed. Don't want them to get there too soon, in case people would peek, but don't want them to be late, either. Things are so different at this time of year. Parking lots are full, lines are long, and sometimes She is inclined to forget things. Luckily for Her, He is willing to go to the store. He doesn't mind walking a long way, and He brings things to read while He is standing in line. We had to get some addresses, as well. And get our calendar up to date. She has to decide whether She wants to keep getting the paper five days a week. She says She wants to support the print media, which means newspapers and magazines, but print media uses a lot of trees, and She likes to talk and read on the computer. Hmmm. Details.
Details, details, details. What would He and She do if They didn't have some cats to help them. Just today, I had to give a massage and two sets of snuggles, just to make Her happy. Not just about details, either. Her OperaGirl is working way too hard, and may be getting another cold. It makes Her sad when that golden throat is sore. Another worry is for LW'sMom, who has a bunch of big tests this week. She doesn't worry about LW'sMom getting good grades, just that it is so much to do. She will see LW'sMom later, when all the tests are done. All these details have me worn out. I think I'll have a little rest before our dinner. Laters.

Meeting Cats
After a kind of normal morning, She decided to go to a meeting. It was Her old church, but in a new place. She told Him the place was very nice, although small, but since there were only 30 people there, it was just the right size. It is mostly used for a little school, so there are places for the children, and there is a kitchen. But what she really liked was seeing so many of Her old friends. There was voting today, which is why She went. They plan on changing a few rules, which sounded OK, and they elected people for the next 6 months, and maybe for the next year. It is kind of depending on a new rule. She told Him She is OK with it. It turned out Mable'sMom was elected, which was kind of a surprise, since M'sM said She didn't care for the direction the church was going. Well, one way to change a direction is to work on it, so there you go. Her heart was happy to see LW and her sibs, and her Mom and Dad. All the people who had their hair shaved off looked really nice, with their hair growing back in a cute way.
After the meeting, She went to the store and found a bunch of bargains. She almost didn't go, but She is glad She did, and so am I. I saw a box with a little pie in it, and that looks like a good thing for our dinner. She still has to get some more things, but there is plenty of butter and plenty of treats, so Kasey and I are fine with that. All those things and a little pie actually make my day.

Coupon Cats
If you know Her at all, you know She loves to find a bargain. Well, yesterday She found a paper about some special kind of cat litter, and He said we should try it. The paper said they would send us every penny of the cost of the litter. The story said that it was made of all natural stuff, and that it wouldn't have any smell. I don't see anything wrong with the way our litter smells now, but somehow, She thinks it is too smelly. He likes for Her to be happy, so He agreed to get the new kind of litter. After all, it will be free when the company sends them the money back. And they can get it at a store that is very close. Well, Kasey and I will try it, but if we don't like it - there will be consequences. That means we will pee on the rug.
She watched an Eddie program while She ate Her lunch, and it was the funniest one I saw. Eddie talked about how you can't train a cat. That man must know a lot about cats, because it was exactly right. It was just right about dogs, too. I can see why She thinks Eddie is funny.
Since She doesn't make gumbo on Saturday anymore, I think She plans to eat some of yesterday's pizza. Actually, I am OK with that, because She let me taste some meat from the top of it yesterday, and it was kind of good. Now Kasey and I need to climb in the boxes that came with the last of the catalog stuff. That finishes shopping for this year. And this time She means it. Sure. I believe Her, don't you? (snerk)

Tea Cats
Everyone knows She loves coffee, but a chance to have a tea party suits Her just fine. When Smudge'sOlderGirl asked Her to come for tea, of course She said yes. Other friends were there, and She even had coffee instead of tea. She did tell me that Smudge'sOlderGirl could be called Domino'sMom, so we will give her that name. Domino is mostly all black, with two white sp[ots. She says Domino is beautiful. She told us there were lots and lots of cookies, and lots and lots of good talk. There was serious talk and joking talk. I asked Her if there was any gossip-talk, but She pretended She didn't hear me.
After the tea party, when She was on Her way home, She stopped to get some pizza. She thought someone else was coming for dinner, and pizza sounded just right. She got one that was all vegetables for Him. When She got home She learned that the other company is coming tomorrow.
It is OK, though, because one of Her favorite things is pizza. I am not a big fan of pizza, but Hers will have stuff on it, so I may be lucky and get some meat or cheese.
She also found out that two things She sent to people got there, and She really hopes they will like them.
She is ready for a quiet evening. Even though She had a wonderful day, it is nice to be able to relax. And I will certainly help Her with that. Bye.

Healthy Cats
Kasey and I were here all alone for most of the morning, because He and She went on an adventure together. Starting at the beginning, She had a paper for a restaurant. You know the kind She gets where She pays a little money and gets a lot of food. Next thing that happened was that She had a regular check-up appointment at Her doc's. It turned out that the restaurant that the paper was for is right next to where Her doc is. She asked Him to go with Her to the doc, and afterward go and get their lunch together, kind of like a small date. Off They went, and He read a magazine while the doc found out she is in great shape for an old person, which made Her quite chuffed. The only thing was, She had to get a shot. She doesn't mind getting a shot, but She didn't want this one. It was for keeping Her from getting sick later, and She doesn't get sick very much. The doc is a sweet girl, but she was pretty determined that She should get this shot. So She did. Easier than arguing, and She wanted to go get the cheap lunch. So off They went. He had a sandwich made of vegetables, and She got a big sandwich with meat and cheese. She brought half of it home for Her supper, and I will be standing by for a little taste.
She got some happy mail from Her computer family, so She gave this day five stars out of five. Since They were home in the afternoon, it turned out nicely for Kasey and me. as well. Poodle Tip (Get it?)

Advo-Cats
When She used to be a teacher, She mostly taught students with Special Needs. Part of Her job was to help the teachers, too. After She finished working, She kept on helping these kids and their families. She says She is an advo-cat. That is a special kind of cat, you know. and Kasey and I are pleased to accept Her as a cat, as long as She helps people. Every so often, there are meetings where they make plans for these kids, and She goes to help the kids and the Moms. Today She went to that kind of meeting, and She was a Cool Advo Cat. Everything went fine, and She felt very pleased to still be helping. She always says helping keeps you real. That's why Kasey and I help Her and Him. We want to be real.
Now that the meeting is over, She is getting ready to go have some fun with Her Crones. So this goes down as a special day. Even more special than other days, with every day being lots of fun this month.
She looks at pictures of the places where Her beloved Grandchildren are. New York looks very festive, London looks very cold, and Dublin, where Her Eddie is - that looks colder still. Where Her OzGirl lives, the weather is turning into summer, just like where Mazie's cousins live. I'm glad we live here.
No dinner to share tonight. She eats at Crones, and He only eats vegetables. Oh, well. Sy-o-nara.

End-of-November Cats
The name of this month has been November, which has two big days. One is Election Day, way at the beginning, and the Thankful Day, which we just had. In this particular November, we have helped Him and Her with getting things ready. I don't know what we will do with ourselves when all the boxes and bags have been examined and all the papers crumpled. I have helped with the computing, too, while She ordered things from far-away stores. By lying on the keyboard, I have given Her time to collect Her thoughts.
He and She hope that the end of every month won't mean rushing around to be sure His mother has a good amoiunt of money for her living place. I bet they get the hang of that stuff before the end of the next month.
He and She got married in the month that is coming, and so did Smudge'sMom and M. That was a long time ago for both of these families, and they like to celebrate together. He also has His birthday in that month, and They have a special party with Cleo'sFamily. The month will hardly start and Deena'sMom will go in an airplane to see her children and grandchildren, and that makes Her very chuffed. She will miss Deena'sMom, but will see lots of pictures when she gets back at the start of the next year,
No luck with the fish last night. I'll go and check if I am lucky tonight. TTYL

Quick-Change Cats
Have you ever gotten ready for something and at the very last minute changed your plans? Well, that is what we did today. After a good start, with the good butter today - the kind with salt in it - and some really good water and coffee-the-drink, we got organized for a trip to a few places to get some things we needed. Not Christmas things. Those are all here already. Just as we were about to bid Her goodbye and start watching out the windows for Her to come back, some rain came down in a big hurry, and She changed Her mind. She says She just turned off her shopping brain and turned on Her cozy-day-at-home brain. I was kind of chuffed. Kasey didn't care, and went to her blue blanket.
As long as She was home He asked Her to do the accounting for His mother's money. She is only allowed to have just a little, you remember. She wrote everything down for Him and was glad to do it. Then She chatted with Her computer friends. She just loves Her computer friends.
Tonight She is trying to decide about what to fix for our dinner. She is leaning toward that noodles with the red sauce, but I am sure She has fish in that freezer. When I finish this, I will go and look very hungry, and maybe She will get the hint. It worked last night for the little pie! Well things seem to be OK here, so I will go and do my hungry-cat thing. Toodles.

Cats and Quiet
This has been a quiet day. There have been regular sounds, of course, but mostly we have all been quiet. It is the habit of my rude sister, Kasey, to run around and yow sometimes. Today she didn't do that. At least not yet. I had a quiet conversation with Her about what was in the paper, and He talked on the phone, but then He left to get His computer, so I am just resting and enjoying a nice day, mainly.
One thing She did was to talk to Katy'sMom. They have a meeting together this week, and they had to check some papers so they are ready. Another thing was to work on getting Mazie's box ready to mail. There were some darling pictures of Mazie's family on the computer, and I didn't think She would ever go away and let me write my story!
Her beloved Eddie is in a far away place to make a movie, and She read where it is very cold there, and that they are having problems with their money, like we have had here where we live. She is hoping that Her Eddie will be OK with all that going on. Don't worry, He said. You always tell us not to worry about things we can't help. Now it is your turn to take yur own advice. She said Hmmf, but She told me He is right, so we listened to some music.
She hasn't decided what She will have for Her dinner. I am hinting for a little pie with chicken and vegetables, but I'm not sure She is getting my message. I'll let you know.

Sunbeam Cats
Around here, They are saying how cold it is. Of course, They mean outside, because in here it is nice and toasty. The sun came through the window after lunch, and I have been lying in it since then, until it just now went away. She was watching me, and seemed glad that I was so very pleased with that sun-spot. She didn't even make me help Her with chores. So while I rested and wiggled around, They were working on The Problem. You probably know what that is. It is the end of the month, and He has to make sure all the bank numbers come out just right for His mother's place before this month is over. She says She didn't work this hard when He was out of work and they had to pay their bills. That was way before we knew them, of course, and you, too, I bet. Only this is backward.
Talking about that gets me tired out, and I am really well-rested from my sunbeam nap, so I will talk about something else. She is happy for Her PoetryGirl, because PG is the star of a poetry show. And Smudge'sGirl learned how to drive. Another thing She likes is that Her OperaGirl and Her OzGirl are having fun together. Another happy thing is that Deena'sGirl is now married for as long as Kasey and I are alive, and Deena'sMom is going to see them pretty soon. It's all good.
So I will go check out the kitchen now. Bone-a Serra.

Package Cats
Oh, what a day we have had! Now that She is full of Thankful stuff, She has gotten very serious about Her packages. Come on, Coffs, we only have four weeks, She says. Well, the way She gets around, it is probably a good idea to keep helping Her. She has forgotten some of the stuff She already bought. I have to laugh right out loud when She says She must not have a present for someone, then She finds it hiding behind something in the gift closet. I have to remind Her that it will all turn out just fine. We go through this every year.
He is very wise, so He went to see a movie with Cleo'sGirls, so He didn't have to listen to Her. What a wise human He is. Next year, He says, just get everyone gift cards. That will save all the losing and finding presents. Or maybe we should just hijack the catalogs, so She doesn't have a bunch of stuff coming all year. Do you know what He thinks? He thinks She likes to do her packages this way. He says She likes to be surprised by stuff She forgot. Well, it is all OK with me, because I don't mind helping, as long as there are breaks when I can chase Kasey.
The leftovers from yesterday are perfect for out dinner tonight. They are all vegetables for Him, and She has some delicious chicken that She will add to Her plate. After all my hard work today, I am Sure she will have a piece for me. Crumpling paper and checking the inside of bags is no job for sissies. Stay tuned for more adventures.

Thankful Day
Mostly today, They were thankful for Cleo's family. They were so excited to go over there and eat a great big dinner that Kasey and I couldn't even be sorry that we had to stay here by ourselves. They had a big bunch of food that all tasted lovely. They brought some home, but were too full to show it to us. I'll look for a taste tomorrow. Also, They are knackered, and want to shut down the computer, so I must make my story very short. I am thankful for you, and I am thankful for Them, and I am thankful for my rude little sister, even when she acts goofy. Now She says we have to get ready for Christmas and His birthday. So I will be back to report. Nitey Nite.

Thankful Day Minus 1
We are having a busy day, not because of Thankful Day, but because of juggling money. You see, it is important to keep his mother's money at a certain level, and it looks as if they have too much. When She talked to the lawyer, She told her how weird it was to look for ways to spend money. Imagine, all Her life She worked hard to save money, so looking for ways to spend it is out of Her area. There are many rules about what it can be spent on, so it is a special kind of weird. Luckily, there are people who had to do the same thing, and they gave us some ideas.
Well, tomorrow will be a perfect delight for them. After She makes Her orange potatoes, everything else will be ready at Cleo'sFamily's house. Spending time with that part of Their family is always particularly fun for Them, especially if Cleo'sGirls are both home.
She is thinking about Her other friends and grandchildren, and hoping they are having as much fun as She is - except for the money-juggling. She feels lucky to have so many people in Her heart, as well as two adorable (ahem) cats and a bunch of cat-cousins.
He has gone to have dinner with His mother, so we are happy to be here at home with Her.
She isn't sure what She will have for Her dinner, but She told me I would like it. Can it be fish? I'll check it out. Later, Gator.

Thinking Cats
It was very strange today, because She went to Thinking Day without Him, which made Them both a little sad. You know He had something to straighten out about His mother and where she used to live. The good news about that is He got it all fixed, and She didn't have to give them the hairy eyeball. She told Him the question at Thinking was excellent, and the discussion was good, although She talked too much, but She says these Thinking People energize Her. One of the guys is in a play in a couple of weeks, and She wants to go.
While She was at the Thinking House, She saw the little gray cat that they take care of. They can't let Her inside, because their inside cat wouldn't like it. We know how that goes. She told me that the inside cat, named Sabra, stayed all during the talking, and lay on a stool with her belly sticking up. Kasey and I told Her that would be a very confident cat to do that. Usually, we hide our whole selves when company comes, but we only show our tummies when just the four of us are at home.
She sent a package to Her OperaGirl, and the sending company said they delivered it. She says She wishes She had been in the package.. But She will be glad to visit with Cleo'sFamily on Thankful day. She loves Cleo'sFamily. She is bringing some orange potatoes for that dinner.
For our dinner tonight, I believe I sniffle sausage. Not fish, but ok. Chow bellas.

Progress Cats
It looks as if we are making progress here. All Her shopping is done, now we have to wait for some more packages to come in the mail, then we can wait patiently for the holidays. No matter how many presents She buys, She and He don't celebrate Christmas. Does that sound strange to you? It did to me, so She told me that She celebrates the idea of peace and the fun of the season - and it doesn't hurt that His birthday is the day before Christmas. It is an excuse to give presents, and to celebrate finishing another year without too much fuss.
Today a nice thing came in the mail, and it was about Christmas. LW'sBiggestSister is very good with animals, so They ordered a big animal book for her. It is very beautiful, and She hopes LW'sSis lets Her look at it some more.
He made progress today, too. He is trying to clear up things with the place where His mother used to live, and He keeps getting bills from them. She moved out of there a long time ago, but no one seems to know how to stop the bills. He needs to get it fixed before She goes in there and makes a bunch of noise. At least He has an appointment with someone who can fix it, although He will have to miss Thinking Day. She is fixing those orange potatoes again, and that means there will be meat with them, I can't wait to see what dinner has in store for us. Bon swar.

Progress Cats
Today Kasey jumped way up onto the organizer on the tip-top of Her other desk - the one that doesn't have Her computer. Why is this so special, you ask. Isn't Kasey always jumping up on something? Well it has been a long time since Her desk was clear enough for Kasey to jump on. It has been covered with presents for a long time. Now lots of them have been sorted into bags for each person who gets a present. As long as She can keep the bags straight, we are getting someplace. Here is something funny. She got something for Cleo'sMom a long time ago, and marked CM's name on the box. When She looked in it today, so She could put it into the right bag, She had forgotten what it was. Well, She was right to get it, because it is very cute. Someone asked Her what She wants for a present, and it turns out She doesn't want anything you can't use up. Too much stuff already. She would rather get stuff for other people, like I told you before.
Tonight She is cooking one of those little pies I like. It has gravy and chicken and vegetables. Plenty for me to share. I got some of Her meat and gravy last night as well. He has told her He doesn't want gumbo any more - at least for awhile. She is glad. It gets tiresome having the same thing every week. That's kind of strange, because I eat kibbles every day, and I never get tired of them. I told Her to try kibbles, but She just laughed. You can never tell about humans. I'll check back tomorrow, so bye bye.

Alert Cats
Kasey and I had to be very watchful today, since Katy-next-door was in our yard. We kept track of her every move, and then what do you think she did? She walked out between the shed and the fence with a mouse in her mouth. I didn't see what she did with the mouse, because she walked back toward her own house, and we couldn't see her anymore. I hope she didn't eat that mouse. Kasey said she didn't care and went to sleep. Well. I stayed alert anyway.
There was more sorting and arranging today. One thing She got done was getting packages ready to mail. Of course it is too soon to mail them for Christmas, but they are packed up and out of the way. Wouldn't it be funny, Coffs, She said to me, if I forgot to mail them in time? We had a good laugh about that. If She is counting on me to remind Her, though, well, good luck with that.
So I am sure we will have the whole mess arranged and presents sorted in another couple of weeks. Meanwhile, I am counting on a very good dinner. What She is fixing has meat and gravy. Way too much for Her to have by Herself. I will help Her with it, don't you worry. I am especially glad I don't have to eat a mouse for my dinner. She says it is not nice to say yuck, but if I had to eat a mouse, I might just say it. I will go and check on everything now. TTYL.

Amused Cats
Kasey and I had to chuckle today, because He took Her out on a date. I guess He has had lunch with His mother often enough, so today He wanted to take Her. You know He can't go just anyplace to eat, because of the vegetables, so they went to the same place She goes with Her beloved Crones. He ate plenty of vegetables, while She ate lots of fish. She was sorry to have to tell me that, since you can't bring food home from this place. Even more sad for me is that She ate so much that She isn't even thinking about our dinner. Then I think of the two of Them going on a date, and I start to chuckle again.
When She got home, She read some messages. One from Her OperaGirl got Her all in a tizzy, but then Her OG straightened it all out. You see, She thought Her beloved Eddie had not been nice to Her OperaGirl, and She didn't know what to do - but then, a couple of notes back and forth, and all was well. She sometimes forgets that Her Eddie is a big star, and not just Her Grandson. In My Mind, She says. Eddie is in my family In My Mind. Eddie says that a lot.
So She wants to have a quiet weekend, because next week has a lot of marks on the calendar. All good things, but still, things that are not quiet. Thankful Day comes next week, and He and She are quite chuffed.
Should I hold out hope for something She will share with me? If not, kibbles are good. Kasey and I are thankful for kibbles. I'll check back tomorrow.

Wrapping Cats
Actually, She doesn't do wrapping. She puts all the stuff in a bag from the store, so people can make use of it. She tells us this is good for the world, so I guess it is OK, She started sorting things into bags a while ago, but we kind of got stalled, so now we are getting really into the job. Kasey and I check the inside of the bags so we know they are ready for the stuff. If She has to use paper, we crumple it up for Her. We also keep track of the occasional string. When She is sending a package in the mail, She doesn't wrap it at all, just fills up a box. I do my part, but Kasey is the head box inspector. We also helped by pushing all the catalogs onto the floor, so She isn't tempted to get more stuff. She truly loves to get things for people, and tries to do it without spending too much money. Everyone knows that, so they don't expect magnificent things - just things that are cute or meaningful. Some of Her friends make things for their presents. He and She have gotten some seriously great things like that. Some people know what He and She like, and get things for that. And some people don't know what to give to Them. Let me remind you that They have two adorable kitties (koffkoff), knackered from helping, in case you need a hint. Really, I believe She doesn't care if She gets any present at all. She mostly loves to give them. That is what happens when you get old, I guess.
He has gone to a party where His mother lives. She was invited, but stayed here with us. It is a reward for all our help. So, Toodle Pip.

In-a-Rut Cats
When you keep doing the same thing every day, She tells me that means you are in a rut. Kasey and I like our routines, but we don't want to be in a rut. It helps if They do some different things, because then we have to add parts to our routine, like watching for them and wondering when they will be back. We also like to chase each other and stalk things, just to break up the routine. Today, for example, I curled up in the other half-a-circle chair. She had to laugh when I did that. You must have felt like you were getting in a rut, Coffs, She said. You know, She has no business making fun of my routines. She has some pretty big routines Herself. Ask me what She likes to drink every day. Ask me what She eats for breakfast, and what She does while She is eating Her breakfast. If there were no coffee-the-drink, I think She would just go back to bed. If She runs out of cinnamon-raisin toast, She would be very grumpy. If there were no paper to read, She would be at a loss. If you ask me, She is in a bigger rut than Kasey and I are in.
She says that will change soon, because She and He will be very busy next week. To be fair, She likes different things for Her dinner. There is some hope for Her. Just so She doesn't want to sit in the chair where I am taking my nap. She says She is eating meatballs tonight. Not my favorite, but better than salad. Later, Gator.

Thankful Cats
Every day She writes on Her computer and tells what She is thankful for. She is going to do that every day because Thanksgiving is in a bunch of days. She says She is thankful all the time, but doesn't say it enough. She is so thankful for all our cousins and their people that She just smiles when She thinks fo them. She is sad that we have lost Deena and Cleo, but She still loves them, and their people make Her heart feel good. She says She is thankful for finding us at the esspeeceeay. Cleo'sMom helped Them find us, and we are very thankful for that. We are thankful that we don't have to live in those cages any more, and that we don't have to go back to those houses where the people didn't want us any more. In this house, Kasey and I are Top Cats, and there a plenty of kibbles and treats. That is not the best thing. The best is Him and Her. They love us so much that even Kasey has to purr once in awhile. They are not too busy to brush us, and give skritches, and talk to us. She tells us about our cousins, and feels that they are just as important as Their human friends. Last night, when I was having a little nap on Her tummy, some dogs came by and barked so loud that I could hear them , even in the house. She gave me snuggles and said there there, Coffs, we won't let anyone hurt you. I am so thankful for that. It is very nice to feel safe. What are you thankful for?

Chair Cats
In our house we have a room with chairs. Two of the chairs are the kind that tilt back and make a good place to rest. She likes to sit in the one that doesn't rock, so He sits in the rocking-tilt-back chair. Sometimes He goes to sleep while He pretends to watch TV. Two of the other chairs are alike, and She likes to sit in either one. These chairs are kind of round, like half of a circle, and they are designed for a big coffee-colored cat (ahem) to just fit. I love that chair, where I can sleep all day and just get up to lie in the spot of sun that comes after lunch. Kasey likes to sleep on her blue blanket. I know you have seen the picture. Another place she likes to snooze is on the little couch. The one She calls a love seat. If you come to our house, you can find the chair where She sits very easily. I have jumped up on the back of it and decorated that chair with hair, so it looks as if it has a fur top on it. She really appreciates that. I get into that chair while She watches TV, and go to sleep on Her tummy or chest. What would She do without me?
There was such a lot of mail today that she will have to spend a long time reading catalogs. And people have sent Her free things and asked for some money for children or soldiers or people with troubles. She is ready to yell at them. Stop sending me stuff! It makes her feel guilty, because if She sends money to all of them, She will never see the end of it. Someone told Her to just send a dollar to each one, and they will figure out that She doesn't like to feel guilty and stop sending stuff. I'll let you know if that works. I think I'll go curl up in my half-a-circle chair until dinner is ready. Toodles.

Demo-Cats
In our country there are two groups who want to do things their own way. One is called republicats and the other is called demo-cats. Surely you can understand which one He and She like most. Here's what the demo-cats like: helping each other, seeing that everyone gets a fair share of things, not just the fat cats. If you ask me, Kasey is probably a republicat at heart, because she cares most about what is good for her. Of course, I am a demo-cat, because I like to share. You know I am willing to share Her dinner if it is something good. She says the President of the whole country is a demo-cat, so we will watch for him to do good things for everyone.
When She was visiting with Her computer friends today, She got very lonesome for them, and told Him that She wishes Her bones did not ache so much. Maybe then She could visit the people in real life, and help them get dinner ready or something. He said He needs Her to stay here and get our dinner ready, especially if Her bones didn't ache. That made Her kind of happy, so She started fixing His favorite gumbo. He likes it the way She makes it, but She says if a real gumbo-person tasted it they would say it is the most Yankee gumbo in the world. She doesn't care. LW'sMom makes real chili and She puts beans in Hers. LW'sMom says that is Yankee chili, and She loves LW'sMom, so it's OK. Of course now that He only eats vegetables, She says it doesn't matter either way.
I need to check on things now. TTYL.

Keep in Touch Cats
There was something about today - maybe because it started out rainy and a bit cold - that made us feel sentimental. We spent a lot of time thinking about our cousins and wondering if they are keeping busy and healthy. We see Katy a lot, and it seems as if she is fine. She certainly is lively, because she can climb a tree as well as hop over the fence. Our Smudge and his sibs must be OK, or Smudge'sMom would have told us. Same with Lion and BabyNick. I am glad Ollie survived the adventures where he lives, and LW'sKitties must be as happy as can be, with those darlings to play with. And Sabra is happy, now that her Mom is home from India.
I guess She felt sentimental, too. She called Her Niece and Nephew who live far away, where She came from. She hasn't talked to them in a lot of months, maybe even a year. Isn't it funny how busy our lives are? Her Nephew's Dad was Her Brother. At least that is what they believed, and that's how they felt. Of course, now She and Her Real Brother found each other. She is really happy about that. This is the kind of thing that we have been thinking about today. They are cozy thoughts for a stay-inside day.
You would think She would be making gumbo for dinner today, but He has gone to visit with His mother, so She will have Her dinner when He gets home. He will eat with l'ancienne. If it keeps everyone happy - or as happy as l'ancienne gets, it is fine with Her. And Kasey and I have plenty of kibbles, so we are fine, too. Are you fine? I hope so.

Stay-at-Home Cats
There was nothing on the to-do list today that She had to go away for, so we helped Her around the house . Although He went to take His mother to lunch today, we just got a few things done around here. She has decided that this room is not de-cluttered enough, so we worked on that for awhile, but we got knackered, so we went to have a little nap while She talked with Her computer friends. She tells me it is very cold where a lot of her Eddie-people live, and that those Grandchildren who have to go to work are being very busy. The ones who have to go to school are almost ready to have a bit of rest, too. She follows their adventures very closely, and found out one of Her girls, the Hugggggs one, has broken her foot/leg. She is glad the movie about Her beloved Eddie is going to be available way over the sea, where he lives, and She is so chuffed that Her Mazie gave Her that movie long ago on Her birthday.
Things should be better at LW's house, when her Dad comes home from a work trip. Imagine LW'sMom going to school to learn Minister Work, and having LW and all her sibs to care for, and LW'sDad being too far away to come home at night. Good thing for them that they have kittens!
We are also sad that Smudge'sDad has a hurt back, and that S'sM has to take care of him. Even Kasey admits that we are pretty lucky cats. Well, Ah-dyoo for now., mez amis.

Soldier Day Cats
Once, a very long time ago, way before He and She were born, there was a big war. When that war was over, they signed a paper and called it Armistice. That means all the fighting would stop. People were so glad therre would nt be any more war that they made the day a holiday. Do you think that ended wars? Well you are wrong, because since then there have been a bunch more of wars. They decided to keep the holiday, but since it doesn't mark the end of wars, they decided to use the holiday to thank all the soldiers who were ever in any war. I was very interested while She talked about this, but Kasey didn't care, and went back to sleep. He and She don't do anything special for this holiday, besides be grateful that They don't have anyone in the war right now. When He was a boy, every healthy boy had to go to the war training place. He went to Marines, and a long time later, so did Deena'sBoy. I feel very sad to think about these people getting ready for a war. They are such kind humans. She never was a soldier, because they didn't let girls be soldiers when She was young. I had to give Her some extra snuggles, because I was so glad She never had to go get ready for a war. Today was very serious because of this holiday. She says She is not even hungry for Her dinner. I'll try to convince Her that She should have a little something - some chicken or some fish. Good night and good luck.

Cat Wisdom
Since She had lunch with Her beloved Crones today, Kasey and I started thinking about wisdom. The Crones, you see, are known for their wisdom, since they have lived a long time and learned a lot of stuff. At this point, they enjoy each other so much, because wisdom is very valuable. So Kasey and I thought about all the things we have learned in our years of being cats. First of all, we are wise because we found a nice home with Him and Her. The lessons we learned before that made me kind of scared, and Kasey kind of rude helped us understand what is good in a cat's life. Here with Them, we are appreciated. There is a lot of value in that, because it gets you pets and skritches as well as plenty of kibbles, lots of water, and the occasional piece of chicken or shrimp. Even though Kasey longs to go outside and eat grass, we both have the wisdom to stay inside, where it is safe from dogs and bad influences. She agrees, because knowing where you belong is a wise thing. And it is really wise to know when you are appreciated. It is pleasant to be wise. I can see shy She and Her Crones like it.
Where the Crones eat their lunch you cannot bring home things that are left over, because there are a million things to pick from. I heard Her tell Him that the tuna salad made a good sandwich. Hmmf. Well, I guess She would share if She could. Maybe at dinner time? I'll let you know. Be wise, my friends. It works for us. Ta.

Cats and Haircuts.
Kasey and I are covered in hair. Every part of us is covered in hair. I get brushed almost every day, because I have so much hair that it comes out on the furniture and on her clothes when I am giving snuggles. As far a I know Kasey has never been brushed. So someone please tell me why She gets in a fit when She thinks She needs a haircut. You would think that She would be glad Her head was warm in these cold nights. But no. She simply HAS to have a haircut, or She needs to go into hiding. She even suspects Her hair of giving Her that cold. Well, today She went to get Her hair cut, and from where I sit, I can't see much difference. She can, however, and is dancing with happy feet because She can see Her eyebrows.
It is really quite cold where our cousin Ollie lives. Our KnittingGirl and our HuggyGirl are talking about being cold. We feel just fine here, because it is cool at night and warm in the day. Whatever it is like, I still sleep in a piece of sunshine every afternoon. Her OzGirl is coming back to Her OperaGirl's house, and She is happy about that, even though She will miss visiting with them. She told me our cousin Lion is all well from his sick ear, so we are glad about that
He is having His dinner with His mother, at the place where she lives, so we will have our chicken without Him. He just eats vegetables, so we probably won't get any shrimp. Oh well. It could be worse. Someone's at the door. I have to go and check. That's all my news for today. Bye.

Better Casts
It was still an easy day today, but She does feel better. That means Kasey and I feel better, too. Of course, I gave her the usual Cat treatments. I massaged her tummy, I snuggled Her neck, and I stayed on Her lap so She didn't need to get up and do anything. She was chuffed to get a note from LW'sMom, who has forgiven Her for missing the church story. It makes Her feel better to hear from Her friends.
He took His mother to pick up her hearing aids today. He hopes it will be easy to talk to her now, if she can hear him. She says She doesn't think l'ancienne will wear them. He has bought her so many things that she didn't use. One thing She thinks is that He will need some, one day soon, judging by how loud He makes the TV.. His mother's were made to fit her ears exactly, so if she doesn't like them, He won't be able to use them. So much for recycling, She says. Can you guess if His mother likes her new home?
She still isn't very hungry today. The things that taste good to Her are salty things and nice, cold grapes. I wonder if that means we will have chips and grapes for our dinner. Kasey and I are glad She doesn't give us Her cold, but some fish or shrimp would be nice, since I am being medicine for Her, and Kasey is sleeping on the couch , which is pretty close to Her, for Kasey. I hope She gets over this election news. It might be what gave Her the cold in the first place.
Hasta manana, chicas.

Bummer Cats
We like it when He and She are home with us, but not when She is feeling pew. When She woke up, She knew her sneezes and sniffles had turned into a cold, and She was bummed. She wanted to go and see LW'sMom at Her church, and She thought She would see LW and her sibs as well. But it would be a sad thing if other people caught Her cold. Yes, She stayed home, but She didn't do much. She said hi to Her computer friends, and followed the medical advice that would help Her. That means She fixed some chicken soup, She put on an Eddie, and She got all comfy in Her chair. She doesn't feel very hungry, which is amazing for Her, so I think She will not have a very interesting dinner. I'll check it out, just to be sure.
Last night, They fixed all the clocks so that it was an hour earlier today. Even with Her cold, She woke up before He did, and had some coffee-the-drink, in hopes it would chase the sniffles away. She found out Mazie's sister in law passed a big test, and is now a lawyer. They were chuffed about thatand that Mazie got only 1 grade that wasn['t an A on her report card. How nice it is that She can read these things every week in a letter from Mazie's Dad. So my work for tonight is to make sure She has plenty of snuggles, at least two massages, and a nice warm cat in Her lap. I guess I'll fill up on kibbles now. The dinner plans look kind of blah. Oh Reevwar, amis.

Cats and Squirrels
This morning, He put seeds out for the birds, just as He does every morning. Kasey and I sit and watch the birds eating their breakfast, and make sure they don't get too close. Sometimes our cousin Katy comes over to watch the birds, too. When Katy is there, the birds stay out close to the fence. He puts seeds in two places, just in case this happens. Today Kasey was not there, and the birds were close to the house - when Mrs. Squirrel decided to come and see if there were any seeds she might like. Kasey and I are not used to seeing Mrs. Squirrel, so we acted very alert and protective. Who knows what might happen if Mrs. Squirrel gets too close! Of course, She was very proud of us, and asked if the squirrel was covered in make-up. At first I was puzzled, but then I remembered it was an Eddie-joke and we all had a little chuckle.
She is hoping to go to the new place where Her church is meeting, because LW'sMom is telling the lesson in Her church. Besides, She wants to see how the new place works. Trouble is, She is sniffling and sneezing, so She may need to keep Her germs at home. There are some things you aren't supposed to share, She says. If the sneezing and sniffling comes from the outside, She will be able to tell, and then She isn't germy. If it is a cold, She'll know by morning. Meanwhile, She will make gumbo, which He loves. I'll let you know tomorrow. Until then, chow, bellas.

Cool Cats
If you know Her, you know She doesn't like cold weather. So why was She so excited that the weather guy said it was going to get cold? Well, I know the answer to that. When it was Her birthday, Smudge'sMom let Her pick out a color, and made Her a jacket. It was not an ordinary jacket, either. It was a particularly nice jacket with lots of colors and buttons that look like flowers.Since She got the finished jacket, it has not been cold enough to wear it. But yesterday it was, and today, too. Maybe it will start getting cooler on lots of days. There is no doubt about it, She loves that jacket.
She didn't have an appointment or anything, but She went to get Her toes painted red today. That is a real treat for Her, because the toe girls massage her feet and put lotion on them, and She feels very special. Luxury is what She calls it. You see, She has this kind of big tummy that makes it hard for Her to reach Her own toes, but the girls at the nail place let her sit in a comfy chair and do all the work, and She loves it.
So things were good for us today. It was cool enough for Her jacket, Her toes are nice and red, and there is fish for Her supper. I give this day a high mark! So long for now.

Cats and Friends
Friends are very important to Them, because Their friends can make them feel a lot better. For example, today I could tell that She was not having a good day. Oh, She didn't act angry or impatient, just kind of sad. You know, the kind where you sigh and just look out the window. I tried to cheer Her up while She was trying to read Her paper, but for some reason, it didn't help. He said I'm glad you are having lunch today with a cheer-up friend, because you always come home in good spirits. It turned out that the friend was Deena'sMom, and it worked. She had to do a couple of errands after that lunch, but when She got home She was nice and chipper. She also brought home some good things to eat. Deena'sMom gave Her some coffee-the-drink, and we all know She loves that. She also got some great-looking food in a jar. She told Him it was peach cobbler. They will save it for a special occasion, She said - like a Saturday. That is a joke . And a boxful of Her leftover lunch smelled a lot like shrimp. I am being good so that She will give me some.
She is happy that Deena'sMom is going to see her grandchildren. She has a very long ride in a plane, but it is worth it, because grandchildren make Her smile, just thinking about them. The way She talks about them, grandchildren sound almost as good as cats!
I have to go give Her a massage, so She remembers to give me a shrimp from her extra lunch box. TTYL.......

Cats and Cars
This is not about my opinion about cars, because I don't really go anywhere in a car. What it is about is Her typing board, Most of the letters have rubbed off of it. She says maybe She spends too much of Her time writing Her stories. Of course, She can't blame me. But when I can't see the letters, I have to take my chances putting my paw in the right place. The place where you push a T is right next to where you push an R, so sometimes my story says cars when it means cats. Of course, if you have been writing as long as I have, you should remember. But hey, I'm only feline!
I had plenty of time to write today, because She went out to the store, and came home too knackered to check with Her friends. She tries to get most things that He and She will need for a few weeks, and usually comes home with something extra, if it is on sale. She loves to find nice things on sale, or with a coupon. Today She found some things that She said were bear claws. I have seen pictures of bears, and their claws do not look like the things She got. They look kind of like cakes. But I think She liked them because thy look gooey and nutty. Kasey and I are not interested.
I am saying hi to all our cousins, and being glad they are safe after Halloween. Now I must go and check on what's for dinner. Poodle tip. (Get it?)

Cars Can't Vote
If we could vote, we would vote for people who are nice to each other, and who want to help all cats, not just Persians and Siamese. Everyone today was talking about voting. She voted a long time ago, and could tell the million people who called Her today that She already voted. She did thank them for helping, though, instead of just hanging up. He and She have decided to be role-models for nice behavior. He even took His mother shopping today. Here is what's funny about it. The place where she lives called here because they were very upset. They couldn't find her. When She told them that He had taken her to the store, they were very relieved, and told Her to tell Him not to take l'ancienne away without telling them, ever again.
Her OperaGirl sent Her a message today about her trip to get more famous. I am sorry She forgot to ask about our cousins, but Her OG would have told Her if anything was wrong.
The other topic for today was that a guy came to inspect the heating in this house. They do this before it gets cold, and usually find something that needs to be fixed. This guy said everything was just fine, and She wanted to give him a hug for that. Instead, She gave him a bottle of soda, which he said he really liked. She was very relieved that nothing was wrong, and that we will be warm this winter - if it ever gets cold. The weather was nice today, although the TV guy said it would rain a lot. It didn't.
There will be something nice for dinner tonight, I can tell by the way it sniffles to me. Later, Gator.

Cheering Cats
Kasey and I are cheering today! He and She are cheering, too. Do you know why? It is because of LW's news. If you remember, LW was very sick a while ago, and LW'sMom, Dad, Sibs and docs all worked together to make her well again. All her friends and grandmas and grandpas helped LW to be well by sending love to her. Now LW has to get checked to be sure that sickness is gone forever. Today there was a report from LW'sMom, and it said NED. That means No Evidence of Disease. That is what made Her and Him so joyful, and that makes Kasey and me joyful. Besides, we love LW and her sibs, especially her bigger sister, because they are nice to us. Good for you, LW, for being NED and for making us joyful.
Guess what Her OperaGirl did when she came home from her weekend of being famous. She went to see a show. It made Her tickled pink just to read about it. What She says is that Her OG is a dynamo, and She loves her very much.
He turned in His blue car today, because He doesn't need three cars, and He is driving His mother's car now. She is sad that They couldn't give it to Smudge'sGirl, but He and She really need to use that money. She gets sad to talk about money, but there has been a lot going on these days - about His mother's care and running out of money. Luckily, the news about LW kept Her spirits up. I am sure She will have something with chicken to share with me tonight. Hurrah!

Halloween Cats
Our cousin, Ollie, is a black cat, and his dad says He will rent Ollie out for witches to use. That made us a bit nervous, until She told us Ollie'sDad was only joking. Ollie will be nice and safe, just like we will. He and She will see that all the kids who come to the door will leave us alone, and He will watch closely that Kasey does not escape. Little does Kasey know that this is a scary night for cats. Last year, She told us that cats need to be safe inside, but Kasey only thinks about eating grass outside, and doesn't think anyone would play a trick on her. In fact, we are hoping our cousin Katy knows to stay away from the rascally kids. Not the cute little kids, but the big, rascally ones.
She went to the store and got candy to give to people who come to the door and say trick or treat. That's the secret code for getting candy.
By now, Her beloved OperaGirl is back from her adventure where people make a big fuss over her nice pictures. She will probably check with Her tomorrow. And Her beloved Cleo'sGirl is back from seeing the big rally. Today She found out that Mazie and her family were there, too. So, counting 2 Cleo'sGirls, 1 Mazie and 1 Eddie, She had 4 grandchildren at the big rally. She is chuffed about that.
Good news for me is that She is fixing a little pie for Her dinner. Little pies have gravy and meat in them. And I have been a good cat all day, so.......Nom. Have a nice Halloween, and watch out for cats. Bye.

New Day Cats
This is the start of a new day, She told me. His mother is safe in he new place, her stuff is in storage, He has done all the complicated money stuff, and We can all work on our next part of the year. They have a nice movie to watch, She has gumbo on the stove, and Kasey and I are all set for some naps before lap-time. There is a big party at LW's house tonight, but They are too tired to go anywhere. Wait until you get old, Coffs, She told me. You don't have the pep you used to have. Kasey and I are eight years old, which means we are still young enough to have pep. Especially Kasey. Kasey can jump from the pass-through to the table in one leap. and not be tired.
She watched a funny show today. Cleo's girls were at that show and will tell Her all about it when they get home. She thought it was a great show, because it was more about being nice than just being funny. She said Her beloved Eddie went to that show, but She didn't see him. It is not because he isn't from the US, because there were other British guys there. Perhaps Eddie just likes things where they tell people not to be doofuses.
So She has been looking around this room. She is ready to finish sorting out the stuff in the gift closet, where She will see if She needs to get anything else for Her beloved Grandchildren. I think He and She need to get some stuff for Their beloved cats. That's what I think.
Gumbo night means no meat for loyal cats. Hmmf.

Relieved Cats
Whew. Things will soon be back to normal around here. His mother went to the new place today, and He has been taking her things over there. But everything is ready for this new chapter. One thing that has made Her very grumpy is that the old place where l'ancienne lived charged a whole month rent. It was in the contract, but She didn't think it included all the extra stuff. Well it did. You don't want to get Her upset about money. She forgets She is supposed to be a nice, loving person. But it is done, and the new place is paid for, and the only thing left is putting His mother's stuff in storage. He will be due for a very nice rest. Since the fixing guy fixed the TV, it should be a nice evening. Especially for me, because She is having fish. Nom!
Her OperaGirl is off on a trip to get to show her pictures, and Her Cleo'sGirls are off to see a big celebration about being nice to everyone, and not being rude and nasty. She can't wait to hear what all those travelers have to report. Unless it involves Her beloved Eddie, She just has to stay at home. She really doesn't care, She says. Do you know what vicarious means? She says it is enjoying your own life and other people's lives as well. That is an OK way to do things, She says, especially if you are pretty old.
There is a lot to be relieved about. His mother, Her Girls, the TV, and fish for dinner. Whew.

Cats Lie Low
Kasey and I will be so glad when all this moving business is over! It is always busy busy busy around here, and only a few more days to get it all done. She keeps hoping that His mother will be all settled and happy, but that lady has not been happy anywhere, so She says we will just wait and see.
The TV is broken, and the man who fixes TVs will not be here until tomorrow. She says we can watch DVDs of Her beloved Eddie. He is not so keen on that, although He likes Eddie. If you want to be friends with Her, you pretty much have to. The TV helps Him relax, so this is not a good time for it to break at all. She told us that LW's TV is broken, too. Maybe we should all just pet our cats and let it go at that. Very relaxing.
One of Her OperaGirl's friends sent Her a CD of him singing. It sounds wonderful, and She has already played it a couple of times. Her OG is going on a trip to where people are going to look at the pictures she takes. You know this room where I am is full of pictures Her OG has taken, and there is a big one more in the living room. I like it, because She smiles every time She looks at it. I guess you know it is about Her and Eddie.
I am afraid She ate Her lunch so late that She will just want soup for Her dinner. If I play my cards right, I might get a little slurp of that soup. Toodle Pip, everyone.

Cats and Crones
It looks as if They are inching closer to getting this moving-mom thing done. There are so many little details that I have to get my pets in the middle of the night! But things look better today, because She will have a nice visit with Her Crones. These are such wonderful, wise ladies that She feels better when She sees them, no matter what. I'm sure to get lap-time when She gets home.
Kasey and I have been worried about our little cousin, BabyBoy that lives at Smudge's house. Smudge'sMom took him for that fixing thing, and he is being slow about getting better. We are sending him cat-energy, and he will be better tomorrow. Smudge and fRaNkie got so scared when their Mom brought out the carrier for Baby that they ran and hid. We might very well do the same thing. I know Kasey would. When He and She brought us home from the esspeeceeay, Kasey made a hole in the box and got out into the car. That meant She had to hold her, and we all know how Kasey feels about that.
Another thing She wants to do is to get everything done so She can have lunch one day with Deena'sMom. It is not long until D'sM goes on a long ride in a plane to see her kids. I have never been on a plane, but She has, lots of times. She says it used to be fun, but now it is more like work.
Since She will not be home for Her dinner, It will be very ordinary kibbles for me. Oh, well. Chow, bellas.

Cats Who Think
In the midst of all the flurry of activity of things that must be done, He and She spent a wonderful morning with Their Thinking Friends. He and She say it is like therapy, going to talk and listen with people who are smart, sensible and loving. You can be sure of that, because the place where They go has a beautiful cat. I guess She doesn't know how to spell the name of that cat, because She never writes it down. It was a good question about whether the good people will win, or the greedy, selfish people. They all seem to wish it will be the good guys, but the others have more money, which They say gives people power. Kasey and I think the people who love cats are the best people, and everything should go their way. She says we can't vote.
He picked up His mother's new car today, and got insurance for it. It has so many things - He calls them bells and whistles - that it will take awhile to learn them all. I looked out the window, and did not see one single bell or hear even one whistle. Humans talk funny sometimes. Lucky for Him, He is smart, and will learn all the new stuff.
A few dozen more phone calls, and they will relax. It looks like everything is going to be done in time for His mother to move. Well, at least she will be closer, so They don't have to drive so far.
Dinner tonight is chicken, and I think She is making potatoes that are orange instead of white. I think I will pass them up and just mooch some chicken. Cheerio, friends.

Monday Cats
I already told you this would be a busy week. They woke up ready to do stuff, and were busy all day. I had all I could do to get some snuggles in, and Kasey almost gave up on getting treats. But it all has worked out OK, and He and She will be ready to eat Their dinners and relax. Here is something that will help with that relaxing. One of Her Eddie Grandchildren sent her a bunch of music from the band named One Horse that I told you about before. She has been listening all afternoon, while She does Her work. He came in and listened, too. He needed something nice, because He had to take His mother to the doctor about her ears again. She says she isn't sure about her new place to live, but all the arrangements are made. She will be glad for a break from all the stuff when He and She go to see Their Thinking People.
One new thing She found out is that Her church is moving to a place that sounds nice. She was reminding Him that the new place is right next door to where that church had its first meeting, when it wasn't a church yet. She thinks that is kind of like a sign. She says it gives her hope. I think that is nice for Them.
Katy'sGirl came over with stuff that She had bought a long time ago. To tell you the truth, I believe She had forgotten about it. What a nice surprise, to get something you forgot you bought. Do you know what She said? She said This is really nifty. What a funny thing to say. Oh, well. You know how She is. I must go check on the dinner now. Toodles.

Confident Cats
It has been a nice day around here, since the His-mother-thing was in the waiting mode, and They were at home with us. One especially nice thing was that a really nice person came over, They had a nice visit and the visitor was so nice that I actually did not go and hide. This time is was Kasey who went into the closet, but it wasn't about the visitor. Kasey just loves to climb onto the highest shelf in the closet and jump into a box that is up there. It is her way of saying leave me alone. But I could tell right away that this was a nice person. She had a way about her that told me that she knew about cats and understood us, and would not be noisy or rough. I waited for awhile before I got really close, but I was confident that the visitor was good. I think the visitor, who is Boru'sMom came to talk to Her about Her church. It is time to tell them how much money He and She will pay to belong to the church. It so happens that She did most of the talking about the church. She said the church was Her sweet baby, and She and the others made it grow strong and healthy - but then it became a teenager, and started behaving like its parents didn't know anything. It will grow out of it one of these days, She said. Boru'sMom agreed with that, and they talked about other stuff.
I am confident that He will get what He needs to fix the TV, since the thing that tells the TV what to do doesn't work any more. It is not about the batteries, either. It just doesn't work. I hope they get it fixed so I can get a lot of good lap time. I'll let you know.

New Car Cats
Since His mother insists on living forever, They are worried She will run out of money, because the place where she lives costs a lot of dollars. The guy they went to see about that said They needed to get rid of all her money so the special money will cover it. The trouble is, they have to spend it on her or it won't count. Well, she doesn't need anything, so the guy said to buy her a car. Of course, He will have to drive it for her because His mom can't drive. She can't even walk. So that's what They did today. He and She went to a car store and bought a beautiful new car. They didn't bring it home yet, but they did everything else, so they can just go and pick it up when they want to. I'll tell you the truth, She is really tired because of trying to spend all this money. I can't wait until it is all spent and things are peaceful again. It will do Her good to talk to Smudge'sMom about it next week. Of course, She is still keeping up with Her beloved Grandchildren, which keeps her from being sad about all of this.
She is also glad that the boy who picked on Katy'sBoy got some help with his fighting problem. People who pick on other kids need real help, plus being away from nice kids.
No gumbo today, because She has meat left over from Her lunch. I am sure She will offer me a bite, because She knows She left us alone today while They bought a new car. Ah- dyoo for now.

Whirlwind Cats
It is like a whirlwind around here because they are getting ready to put His mother into a new place to live. Yes, They are putting her there, not just helping her move, and l'ancienne is giving Them a hard time about it. It makes things very swirly around here, with a lot of phone calls, papers, forms, things to buy, things to sell, and balancing time and money. She still keeps saying If Only.............
Since all these things have to be done in the next week, She will not have time to do some fun things - but She wants to go to Thinking Day and Her beloved Crones. He says We'll see, but She is going to try very hard to have a nearly-normal week. HAH.
One of Her Eddie friends has sent Her a CD of this wonderful band, and She is so excited about that. I think the band has a funny name, though. It is named One Horse. If She had a band, She would name it One Cat. Or maybe Two Cats, so Kasey would not get mad.
There is a lot of talk about voting, and She is so glad She already voted. It would be hard to go and vote with this whirlwind life going on.
She is going out for dinner with Mable'sMom, so I won't get anything good besides my kibbles. He eats vegetables, and I am not interested. I'll check back tomorrow. Buh=bye.

Persistent Cats
A lot of weeks ago, Kasey got out into the back yard and she ate a bunch of grass. They thought it was kind of cute, until Kasey resisted coming back in. Since then, He has to shut Kasey in the bedroom when He goes out to feed the birds. Kasey still goes to that door, jumps up on the little cabinet there, and sniffles at the doorknob. If she could, she would open it with her paw. He and She think that is amazing. Kasey hasn't been out for a long time, and she still waits at the door. What She says is that Kasey is persistent. That means she doesn't give up. In people, that is a good thing, but in cats, well, Kasey will be sniffling that doorknob when she is an old, old cat. There is a movie about Her beloved Eddie that says you have to believe and keep working on your plan. Who knows. One day Kasey may figure out how to get out there, and then she will eat her heart's desire of grass. I am persistent about a lot of things, too. I know how to remind Them when I need water or kibbles. She knows - if I jump up on Her, and jump down, then up again, then down - well, you get it. She checks my bowls.
He is still working on getting His mother in the old person's place. There are a lot of details. He is good at details, but it does make him knackered. It makes Her knackered, too, but mostly because He is so worried. If only, She says, if only.........but She doesn't say if only what. Maybe you know. Mmmm. She's finishing up the leftover pizza. Good cheese for cats. Toodles.

Purple Cats
A lot of people decided to wear purple clothes today and here is why. Some nice kids in school have a problem with other guys making them miserable by making fun of them, or even beating them up. Some kids get so sad about this that they decide not to live anymore, even though they have lots of years ahead that they could live, if they wanted. It makes Her really upset and angry. She used to teach kids and tried to keep kids from hurting each other's feelings - or worse. It is hard for schools to take care of this, because there is a lot to do in schools, so they kind of hope it will go away when the kids get older. Except, She says, even if they don't stop living, they get sore places on their hearts forever. She even thinks that is why I am so scaredy-cat, but I don't really want to talk about that. You can imagine how sad She was when Katy'sBoy got picked on at his school. He is afraid to tell the people, but She says he must get it on the record. The people who run the school might think he is a big boy and shouldn't get picked on, but he is a lovely, sweet boy. If they do decide to tell, and if that nice boy gets hurt, She will see that the police get called and the fighting boy goes to joovie, whatever that is. She is mad and sad about this, and is glad She is wearing purple about it. nasty kids must be stopped, and then maybe get help. That's what She says, anyway. She decided to have some pizza, because that is Her favorite, and She needs to feel better. I'm going to give Her some snuggles. So long for now.
