Today we were talking about the last Sunday in January, and thinking about all the nice things that happened this month. It started with a party and OperaGirl's birthday and goes all through nice lunches and teas and a date for brunch. We had Crones and Thinking People and saw some nice movies. So we are kind of sad to see January go. Everyone was healthy, and everything worked, which is not true of all months. But starting day-after-tomorrow we will get a new month, and that one is really fun. Two of Her favorite days happen in that month. One is called Valentines Day and the day after that is Her birthday. If I were as old as She is, I would be excited about my birthday, too. She says that having another birthday is a good thing, considering the alternative. I think I know what She means by that, don't you? One wonderful surprise is that Her beloved Mazie is coming next month and They will see her for lunch. That makes Her tickled pink - and Him, too. Don't tell Her, but I think He is getting Her a new microwave for Her birthday. The one we have now is 30 years old, and He is afraid it's going to conk out one of these days.
Well, we spent a good day today, and will be ready to start a new month after one more January day. If we were Chinese cats, like the one on Her windowsill, we would be getting ready for the Year of the Rabbit. That sounds kind of nice and quiet, and She says it is a peaceful year. I hope that is true. Farewell, January, and farewell, readers.
