Retired Cats

I guess you know She is retired, so Kasey and I are retired, too. Do you wonder what it is like to be retired? I have heard Her talking about it, so I have a very good idea about what it is like. First of all, most days She sleeps until She feels like gettg up. She doesn't even set the alarm clock, She says She had enough of going to bed before the news was over, so She stays up as late as She likes. Usually, She has a lovely cat (ahem) in Her lap, or on Her shoulder. Every so often, She has to get up for a nice adventure or a pesky doc. appointment. If She has to get up early, it is for something She likes to do. Brunch or thinking people or meeting some friends. When She finally gets up, She and I have breakfast. She always has coffee-the-drink. It is Her favorite stuff. For years She had a bagel every day, until one day She stopped. It was a chewing thing, I think. Now She has toasted bread with black spots or blue spots, and She puts lots of butter on it, so we can share it. She gets very tasty butter. While we eat our breakfast, She reads the paper. After that, she does at least one task, then checks Her e-mails. I help Her with that, of course, and get my brushing and lie on Her keyboard. The guy never brought the one with the new letters, so it is still the comfy old one. A favorite thing to do is talk to Her virtual family and friends. She loves to do that. It is how a retired person starts the day. There are some things about being retired that aren't so delightful as the ones I told you today. Maybe we can talk about that some other time, OK? Watch NCIS, She says. Have a nice night.
