Wake-Up Cats
I will tell you a little secret. If it weren't for me, She would probably sleep all day. I know She needs Her rest, because She is old, but She needs to realize there are others in this house and we have our needs. When She has slept as long as I think She should, I get up on Her and walk back and forth, purring as loud as I can. If that doesn't get Her up, I pick up Her hand with my paw and slide under it, That is usually all it takes to get her awake enough to pet me, but it doesn't mean She will get up and go make some toast. Sometimes I have to pick up both arms, back and forth. If necessary, I go to my final massage tactic. I bite a piece of the blanket and dance with all four paws. That always does it. When I see She is finally getting up, I jump down so that am not in Her way, allowing Her to get up, go to Her litter bowl, take Her morning medicine and get out the bread and butter. He has usually turned on the coffee pot, but if not, She does it. Even if it isn't turned on, He has gotten it ready by grinding the coffee and putting water in the pot. And luckily, She has the one-cup-at-a-time coffee pot, so She doesn't have to wait. She says She needs the coffee to get Her motor running. When the toast is done, She puts a lot of butter on it. I think you can guess why She uses so much. She gives it to me on Her finger, and I lick off as much butter as I like. Sometimes I get ten fingers and sometimes three is enough. If I only have a few fingers of butter, She put some more on a little tray, where I can lick it later. Sometimes Kasey comes to see what is going on, but Kasey won't take butter off Her finger. If She puts it down on something, Kasey will lick the butter and enjoy it. Kasey does not like to let anyone know she is enjoying anything, so She waits until no one is around to enjoy the butter. That's how the morning goes around here when I finally get Her out of bed. All of this has made me tired, so I will nap before dinner. I think it is chicken tonight. Pardon me for yawning. bye, now.
