We were very up-and-at-em this morning, since She had a lot of things on Her to-do list. To begin with, She was looking at Her supplies of things, and decided She needed to go to the store. She does not like to run out of things that She uses, in fact - She usually gets what She calls a back-up so that when one package is finished there is another one waiting. She thought it would be a good idea to get a cake for Mable'sMom, because it is her birthday today. She ran across some bargains, so She got some extra things, as well. She surely loves Her bargains. She got candy to give the kids at Halloween, which is a month away. Well, at least it is here and ready to hand out.
Another thing She did today was to go to Mable'sMom's house. Mable'sBoy was there, so She gave him the cake and her package from Her and from Cleo'sMom. Mable'sMom works very hard, and She thinks it will be fun for her to come home and find some presents. It makes you feel light-hearted to do things like that, Coffs, She tells me. Being light-hearted is a very good thing. She said one more farewell to Smudge'sMom before S'sM and Dad go on a fun trip. I don't know what She plans to do about Her supper, because She says She isn't hungry. She had a big sandwich for lunch. I guess that is why. When She went to the store, She didn't buy lots of things to eat. She is waiting until next week. Do you know why? If She spends enough for her groceries, She can get gas for Her car for 10 cents less, but only in the month She buys it.
My brain is tired from all the figuring out today, so I will just plan on a quiet evening. Poodle Tip (Get it?)

SnuggleBug Cats
My sister Kasey is not a snugglebug like I am. She does her version of snuggling with Him, by snuggling up to His hand when He is trying to write. Kasey has been getting closer to Her, but not quite in snuggle-mode yet. Well, that's OK, because I am Her snuggle-bug, and we have our snuggle time when She is in Her chair. She doesn't scold me when I interfere with Her puzzles, or phone calls or TV shows. It does us both a lot of good, and I recommend it for general feeling-better purposes.
She feels very chipper today, because Her bum leg is almost all better, and She is looking forward to seeing Her beloved Crones this evening. Plus, She knows She will have some most excellent coffee-the-drink, which we all know She loves.
He will need cheering tonight, though, so I may need to snuggle with Him while She is gone to Her meeting. You can guess why. Yes, His mother. He took her to get her new glasses, and gave Him a lot of grief about how He doesn't help her and yada yada (as She says). So He takes her to lunch and comes home all sad and tired. What She says is Her leg feels better, but there is a definite pain in Her butt. I get that. Do you? Well, luckily for Them, there is a snuggle-bug in the house.
She is reminding me that tomorrow is Mable'sMom's birthday, but M'sM is too tired to celebrate. Poor lady. Well, I'll send her some snuggles as well. Later, gator.

Thinking Day Cats
Usually Kasey and I prefer to have them stay at home, but not on the day they go to visit their Thinking Friends. They always come home all sprightly and happy to tell us about it. Today it was Her day to take the job of the Big Question. It so happens that Their Thinking People are kind of curious about Her beloved Eddie. She talks about him all the time, and they know She has traveled far to see him. They wanted to know more about Her Eddie. Her big question was what causes this kind of bond to form with a relative stranger, and is it a spiritual thing. She thinks it is, and that She needs to make Eddie feel better about not having a mother. Naturally, the Thinking People were interested in the story, and everyone wants to borrow her other DVDs. She also like seeing Eddie on a giant TV. Thinking People, Eddie and nice weather. She thinks that makes a really good day.
Where we live, it is generally hot, but these days have been rather cool and nice. It seems to make everyone feel better. You know we don't get to go outside, but we can tell it is nice out, because every single person tells us.
One day last week, She brought home some barbeque ribs, and she only ate half of them. She thinks they'll be perfect for tonight, and I am very agreeable to that. They already smell good!
Much love to all our cousins. Ta.

Helping Cats
This is going to be a busy week, and Kasey and I are going to have to help Her stay on track. We have been organizing today, and tomorrow She is taking some of Her Eddies to the Thinking People. I am sorry for them if they don't like Her Eddie. I'll let you know tomorrow. We have to be sure She doesn't forget to take things She needs to all the places She has to go. That bum leg seems to be a bit better today, so She is able to enjoy the lovely weather. If the weather stays cool, we will all have more energy. We have to have energy to send to Her OperaGirl, who is going on a very long walk to raise money to help sick people, which was what LW'sMom just did here. I saw her picture, and LW'sMom looks really cute with no hair. OperaGirl is brave and strong to walk so far, and She is glad those young people do all these things for others. She is proud of all Her girls and boys. This is what love is about, Coffs, She told me.
Well, there are things coming in the mail from Her catalogs. A job for us this week is to sort out what goes to whom. People call up and want Her to give money to them, but She has to be sure all Her catalog stuff is right before She gives more money. She already helps animals, children and Her President, so Kasey and I work on making Her feel OK about not sending more. After all, we tell Her. the catalog things show love, too. Here's what else shows love - When He puts kibbles and water in our dishes. Like He just did. Gotta run - I'm sure you understand. ToodlePip.

Kolaches Cats
It was nice of Her to offer us some kolaches when She came home from Her morning with Mable'sMom - AND Mable. They went to the place where She had a paper for free stuff, and they thought they would have their kolaches and coffee there. When they got there, they found out that there were not places to sit in the store, so they bought their supply of goodies and moseyed on down to the coffee place at the corner. They were going to enjoy some sit-down-and-talk time, as long as they were out. One other problem was that the bakery store was very expensive, so they wouldn't be able to get stuff without paying extra. Did I ever tell you She was particular about money? Well, She found a table with day-old kolaches and rolls for a price that fit the paper She had. That always makes Her chuffed. When She got home, She showed us the kolaches, but they were made of sweet things like apples and cherries, and Kasey and I don't really care for that.
So, I told you Mable was there, too. Mable went along for the ride, and She said Mable behaved very nicely. We could smell that doggy smell on Her hands. You know She gave Mable pets. She thought Her hands were clean, but we could still sniffle the petting on her hands.
We are sending love to our cousin Lion, and to cousin Smudge, whose girl came home from school. Meanwhile, I smell chicken, so I must go and check. Ah-dyou.

Bum Leg Cats
It turns out that She is the one with the bum leg, but Kasey and I are available for comfort. She was all excited to be going to LW'sMom's hair-shaving party, but whenj She woke up, that pesky leg was giving Her real trouble. It is very hard to tell if her leg swelled up, because both Her legs are very round and bubbly, but there is no mistake that something is wrong when it hurts. It hardly hurts at all, Coffs, She says, but just look at Her. She didn't want to take her poor, broken-down self to the party. She thought it was better to keep it up on a pillow. I'll check with you on an update. She still plans to go with Mable'sMom tomorrow.
Her OperaGirl is having a movie night like they had when She was there a lot of weeks ago. I bet OG wishes She was there to help her cut up veggies. Well, so does She, to tell you the truth. When She came home and made a dinner like She had at Her OperaGirl's, He really loved it. Of course, He only eats vegetables, but when OG sends the directions, She will make it in two parts.
She showed us pictures of how LW'sMom,Dad and Brother looked after they had their hair taken off, and Kasey and I thought they looked very good, indeed. I think they raised a lot of money, so everyone is happy - except She feels sad about missing it. Here's what She said: (Bleep)ing bum leg! I'm going to cheer Her up now. Bye.

Mmmmm Shrimp Cats
We are all happy when Her day includes a visit with Deena'sMom, because She comes home all happy and pleased, but today was even better. She come home with food left over from Her lunch, and She told me there was shrimp in it. If I play my cards right, I could get a whole shrimp all for myself. She said that being with Deena'sMom is like good medicine for Her. They talk about their families, and D'sM makes Her laugh at stress-things, like His mother. Of course, She loves to hear all about the big dogs that live at D'sM's house, and the children who live far away.
The news about Smudge'sMom is not so happy. Smudge's youngest girl has had a bad time at the school where she has been going, and now she must come home. That means that lots of arrangements have to happen, and all of them are puzzles. She wishes She could make things better for Smudge's family. Maybe She can think of something.
Tomorrow is the day when LW'sMom gets all her hair shaved off. That will be funny to see, so She will be there. I should sell your hair, Coffs, She said to me when I got my brushing. I have enough hair to cover one of those hairless cats, and that doesn't even count what I just brushed off my navy blue shirt. Don't worry, everyone. She was joking when She said those things. I saw Her put the hair in the bin.
Mmmmm - Do I smell shrimp? Later, gators.

Serious Cats
Here's the problem. It is all about His mother, who is so old that she's even older than She. His mother lives in a very expensive place, because she needs someone to take care of her as if she were a child. What will They do if They run out of money for His mother? Well, Smudge'sMom told them to go and see this wise man who can help them figure it all out. Today They went to see the man. She had to get up early, and you know how She is about that. But They went. The man was nice, and has good help for Them. They will go see him again next month for more help. She is more calm when these thngs are under control, and His mother is safe and cared for. What She says is that all of us wil die and the earth will turn cold and His mother will still be alive, so she can't run out of money.
Well, Her OzGirl is where Eddie lives, and will report and show pictures. LW'sMom is getting ready to shave off all of her long, red hair, and She and Mable'sMom will go spend another one of those papers for free stuff. Those things cheer Her up so much that His mother dances right out of Her head. Her OperaGirl is having some nice people over for movie night, and She would like to be there with them. But Their nice shows will be on TV tonight, so that will end a serious day. Ta.

Fun With a Grape
Yesterday, She brought home some delicious-but-cost-too-much grapes. Because they tasted nice, She stopped being so mad at Herself, and sat down to eat some of them. I went over and sniffled the grapes, which smelled very fresh and nice, like grass. Because She loves me, She gave me one of the grapes. I didn't want to eat it, because it was a very strange thing to eat, but it was round kind of like a cat toy, so I pushed on it with my paw. It was cold. I pushed it lightly, this way and that until it fell to the floor. I jumped down and gave that grape a big workout.
In the meantime, She was watching me, and snerking. When He came in, She told Him I played with that grape for twenty minutes non-stop, and not a drop of grape was spilled. Since I was worn out, I went to lie down for a rest, while He picked the unharmed grape off the floor, before someone stepped on it That made up for Her Rookie Mistake, She said. It was worth every penny to see me dance with that grape.
The only thing that wasn't so nice today, was a letter She got from the people who She pays for Her fake teeth. They put in an extra charge and She called and grumped to them, and they fixed it. She is kind of OK with most stuff, but don't charge Her extra for anything, or you will be sorry.
Something smells nice in the kitchen. I may be wrong, but I think it might be barbeque ribs. I will get ready to lick some meat off a bone. Chow.

Skip-a-Day Cats 2
It has happened again! Yesterday, when I wrote my story, the computer wouldn't let me send it to you. Something came up that said an error had occurred, and I am telling you, I did not make an error. No, it was not me. But relax. I am back. If I couldn't have posted today, I would be crying right now, because it was the most wonderful day.
To begin with, She had delightful lunch with Smudge'sMom. That is always a good thing, but it was even better today, because She had a paper that said they didn't have to pay any money at all, and the food She ate was pizza, which we all know is Her favorite. She said it was a perfect lunch, and She and Smudge'sMom talked about lots of interesting things, like they do.
Next, She went to the special store where She gets butter for our morning food. Last time they didn't have exactly the kind She wanted, and they didn't today, either. She would have been mad, but She found a lovely friend there, and they had a long talk, and some free coffee. She hasn't seen the lady in a long time, but She has always liked her a lot. So all was well -- Or was it?
When She went to pay for Her things, it cost more than She thought it would, and She realized the problem. She is so embarrassed, because She made what She calls a *Rookie Mistake* When She saw some nice grapes, the sign said an amount that She thought was a marvelous deal. When She went to pay, She found out that the amount meant that much for every pound. Wise old ladies do not make mistakes like that, She said. Sorry about this, but I am laughing so hard I can't write any more. Rookie mistake. Hahahahaha.

Blue Cats
We are not blue in the color of our fur. Humans use thje word blue to mean they are in between happy and sad. Kasey and I feel like that because They feel like that. You can tell by Their half-hearted pets, and we know why. As a matter of fact, if you have been reading my stories, I bet you know why, too. Yes. It is His mother. The lady calls a bunch of times, and She says, don't answer it. I think She knows it makes Him blue to talk to His mother. Today, though, He did answer, and He had to repeat everything so many times that He started to get mad. That makes Her blue. And a little bit mad, besides, because She tells Him not to argue with her. Not to say things like I just told you that. He told His mother 6 times what day it is. You knnow She wouldn't have done that. Oh, well. She'll probably play a bit of Eddie. That makes Her pink again.
It always makes you feel better when you think of other people and how you wish nice things for them. Like Her OzGirl, who is going from her house halfway around the world to Eddie's house, over the ocean. It is because Eddie is doing a show there, where he lives, and OzGirl goes to all Eddie's shows, or at least most of them. OzGirl has a sore shoulder, so we are sending love and purrs to her, and to our cousin Lion, his brother, Nick - and Her OperaGirl while we're at it.
That should keep us from being blue any more. Bye, now.

Kolache Cats
I wasn't sure what a kolache was until She showed me a picture. You see, Mable'sMom sent Her a gift which was a paper saying She could get free kolaches. Oh, how She loves those papers for free things! Kasey and I don't care for kolaches, but She loves them. Besides the place that the papaer is for has other nice things to eat. Her plan is to get together with Mable'sMom and go get some nice treats, as well as some coffee-the-drink. This was a perfect start to Her day, Right after She checked the drool-pics of Eddie that Her Eddie friends put on the computer every day.
This is the day that She will make gumbo for Him, using only vegetables and a bit of rice. He looks forward to that kind of dinner that they can eat together. Oh, sure, they eat together every night, but itis not usual for them to eat the same thing. Both of them like the gumbo made out of vegetables.
You know She tries not to complain, but I notice She is rubbing Her left leg. Her legs are pretty round, so a cat can't tell if they are swollen, but She says that's how She feels. I told Her to sit in Her chair and keep Her legs straight out. That was easy for Her to do, becaus 4 catalogs came today, and it takes a long time to see every picture in all of them. It is lucky She doesn't have a work to go to. When She went to work Her weekends were pretty full of school jobs. Don't worry. I'll keep an eye on that lg and tell you when it is all well.
Gumbo made out of vegetables smells kind of good, but I think I'll stick to kibbles tonight. Oddy-ose.

Social Cats
We were kind of busy today, but it was because we had to get things done before She went to meet with LW'sMom and have some good things to eat. She had a paper tht said She could get stuff free, and that is Her favorite thing: something free and delicious with a particular favorite person. They have not seen each other in lots of weeks, and She could finally return that pesky dish that LW'sMom brought over, filled with food which He especially liked. It can't get filled again if you don't return it, He said. He was trying to act like He was joking, but She says He means it.
She said She wished She could have some frozen yogurt with Her OperaGirl and they could talk about OG's upcoming trip where she will show her pictures. OperaGirl takes particularly nice pictures, you know, and She wishes OG would sell her pictures for a million dollars, so she wouldn't have to work so hard and get tired. Kasey and I are sending love to our cousin, Lion, who lives at OG's house.
Tonight, They wuill watch a movie that came in the mail. They like to do that on days that the programs are all old. It is amazing to Her that there are so many things to watch. Did you know that when She was a little girl, there was no such thing as television? If you wanted to see a movie, you had to go to the show. Even if getting old gives you aches and pains sometimes, it is fun to have all these magical things that weren't there before. I know I don't know what I would do if there wasn't lap-time when a program was on. How did cats get snuggles in the olden days? I'll have to ask Her. For now, though, I need to get some cold water out of my silver bowl. Ta-ta.

Quiet Day Cats
This was one of those days When we stayed home and took care of home things. We all like a day like that every once in awhile, but not too often, because it is fun to do busy things and then relax afterwards. For example, She has plans for tomorrow, and after a quiet day like this,She is almost dancing with excitement. A lot of work today was about His mothr, who calls Him to come and help her, no matter what He has to do. He has already gone to help her 2 days this week, and He comes home so tired and sad. Both of Them are going to see somebody about His mother. He needs to get everything arranged so that He can take care of things , because his mother won't let go of even a bit of control, and her brain has given up thinking, mostly. You know that She is very good at organizing, so She went through a lot of papers about His mother. It is odd to watch Her, because She almost shudders when working on stuff about His mother. And She says, Coffs, how could such a selfish person have such a wonderful son? I don't know the answer to that, so I just bump Her head with my head, and She knows I am sorry about this old person. Do you Know what She tells Kasey and me? Do things for other people, and you will be happier - but don't keep score. I think She means that we should give snuggles whether we get snuggles back or not - and mostly, we do. We like being happy cats. Every day She reminds us to be happy about what we have, and not grumpy about what we don't have. I get that. Do you?
Have to go sniffle around and see what is getting cooked. TTYL.

Fry Cats
A person that She really likes is a guy named Stephen Fry. This is another English guy, and She rushes to assure me that She doesn't like every English Guy there is. Just smart ones, She says, and Stephen Fry is very smart. So She listens to him and tells everyone else to listen, too. I think most people are so surprised that She likes someone besides Her beloved Eddie that they are willing to check Stephen out.
Besides that, She finally got Her hair cut. The clever lady that cuts Her hair did a wonderful job. When you look at the front, Her hair is all white, but if you go around to the back, like I do, Her hair is still dark. What's up with that? Well, look at you, Coffee, She says. The hair on your chin is white, and the hair on your back - and all over the furniture - is creamy-brown. Was that some kind of an insult? I'll think about it and check back with you.
I saw a picture of my cousin Lion in his cone, and he looks very sad, but handsome. He was sleeping on his Mom's shoes. I predict some chewing in the future.
When She was buying a wedding present for some people who are dear to Her, the store didn't have what She wanted, so it took a while to find just the right thing.
Do you know that when She went to see Her OperaGirl, She didn't thiink She could do it, but She did, aand She didn't fall down once! But I still don't think She should go to England and help Eddie with the olympics, do you? Well, gotta run. Check with me later..

Arrangement Cats
What we did today was make a lot of arrangements. She has practically filled in Her whole calendar. Mostly, they are very nice things that She wants to do, but every so often there are just reminders of places She has to be. She likes to write things about meeting LW'sMom, and getting Her hair cut. She has a place on Her calendar when She is going to see people get their hair shaved off. She had better not take me to that place. She told me it was about getting money so kids like LW won't get sick.
Speaking of sick, our cousin Lion is home from the doc, but he has one of those nasty cones around his neck. She says it is for his own good, but I would like to lick his face to make him feel better.
How excited She was today when She got an email from her dear friend clear around the world. She has not heard from this friend in lots of weeks, and She was afraid. Her friend lives in a country that is not always safe to be in, but everything is fine now. This friend got Her beloved Eddie to sign Her birthday card when She had that big party. She would be sad to lose this funny, sweet girl. Another friend warmed Her heart tody. It was Deena'sMom. There was a lovely note in the mail, and She really cherishes that note. She said, Coffs, this friend and I are on the same page. I know what that means.
She ate the rest of Mable'sMom's soup for Her lunch, and it was so good that She scraped every bit out of the jar. Yes, I had a taste, and I gave it two paws up. I hope She is not too full to eat supper. I have that on my calendar. Poodle Tip. Get it?

Good Start Cats
Today was the start of a new week. We all felt better this morning, although I must say, I gave Her about three massages to be sure She would feel just fine. When She is sleeping and I give Her a little nip, so that She knows I love Her, It is not uncommon for Her to say stop that, in Her sleep. I can't get Her to understand about biting and love nips.
So anyway, we all got busy early on today. His mother has lost her keys again, and she insisted that He come over to where she lives and find them. I hope the people where she lives know that she is a trouble to Him. His mother always says after all I have done for you, you should be glad to help me. It makes Her start to gibber when she says that, because She knows His mother was not good to Him. Well, He got everything fixed for that very old person, and needed to rest when He came home. We just stayed here and kept working. Lots of little things got done, so we all feel good about that. She even managed to get an appointment to get Her hair cut. I have to laugh when She says She will need to put it into braids. pretty soon. She wants to ask Smudge'sMom to have lunch with Her, but not until She gets Her hair cut. Humans can be very entertaining. Kasey and I both think so.
Somethng is in the oven, and I think i will get a sniffle of it when it comes out. I may need to get a little taste of it when it cools off.. Toodles, everyone.

Peculiar Cats
This was a very peculiar day. You know she was intending to go to hear LW'sMom give a talk. When She woke up, She had a bunch of aches and pains, so She took some red pills and read the paper. Here's a surprise - She didn't even have some coffee-the-drink. After awhile She felt better, and was OK when Mable'sMom came to bring Her some soup. That soup was really delicious. She gave me a taste, and put some of it away to have later. After She and I worked on some changing things around in Her office, which is where I am now, She sat down and fell asleep. That's another peculiar thing. She never sleeps in the day. I guess She needs to drink that coffee.
I decided to go to sleep, too. I curled up on one of Kasey's soft blankets, which was OK, because Kasey was asleep in the box Her OperaGirl sent. Kasey still thinks inside the box, you see.
Well, later on, when She woke up, She felt OK. Don't worry, Coffs, She said. Old people get peculiar days once in awhile. Like His mother. That lady called six times so far, to complain to Him that He doesn't come to where she lives and fix everything. It makes Him feel so sad. What She says is if I ever get like that, just shoot me. I hope She never gets like that, because I don't want Him to shoot Her. I think She had a peculiar day, so I will give her some snuggles, and maybe have a nap on Her lap. Chow for now.

Curious Cats
There is a saying about cats and curiosity, and I don't like it. If anything kills Kasey and me, I prefer that it would be that we are snuggled to death! Or maybe overstuffed with shrimp! But we were kind of curious about a few things today. I keep wondering what is in those treats that He and She give to Kasey. They offered some to me, but I was afraid to eat them. What if they aren't good for me? And Kasey won't take butter from Her, unless She puts it someplace and goes away from it. But when it comes to open doors, both of us are curious. And noises. A strange noise can wake us out of a sound sleep. Last night the movie They watched had mice in it, and we both went to check that out. And when She yawned and I went very close and looked into Her mouth - well She had a big laugh over that. Hmmf.
She had a nice visit with Mable-and-her-Mom today. Everyone is so busy, it is a pleasure to have a visit. Tomorrow, LW'sMom will be talking at Her church. Maybe She will be able to return the dish that had the delicious food in it. If She goes, She will have to bring lollipops.
I will keep on being curious, but I will be more careful than Kasey. Mark my words, someday that curious sister of mine will get stuck in a cupboard. Have to check the dinner menu now, so I'll sign off now. See you tomorrow.

Box Cats
One thing She tells us all the time is that it is good to be out-of-the-box thinkers, so naturally when She got a wonderful box today, I told Kasey not to go into it. If you have been here before, you can guess what good that did! Well, She was too excited to care about the box, after She took the treasures out. Her OperaGirl has sent Her some presents, and I think the neighbors thought a siren had gone off! My ears are still ringing. Here's what was in the box: 1) a shirt that says Toronto, Canada. When She lived far away from here, She used to go to that city a lot of times, and She loves it there. OG had gone to see Her beloved Eddie there. Next, 2) a key ring from that same city. She quickly put Her house key on it. And then - tada - a picture of Eddie! She doesn't even care that She has to get another frame. This is a picture of Eddie all by himself. Look, Coffs, She said. Look how darling he looks. What He said is that we may have to move to a bigger house. That scared me for a minute, but then They laughed. He was just joking. I wonder why those pictures OG sends always make Her cry. She doesn't cry much, but it is usually when She is happy. I guess that's a good thing.
Well, the box is empty now. Kasey got out to see what all the excitement was about. Since I can get in the box and still think outside of it, becaue all of me does not fit, I may just give it a try. It looks like pizza tonight, so I may just stay in the box, as well. A-dyoo, mon chers.

Tell the News Cats
This is wondeful news. Katy'sMom called and said Katy'sBoy and-Girl are very happy in school and doing so well that there is peace and joy in their house. It made Her just so happy, especially since it is such a relief for Katy'sMom. Now she can go and do her new job with a peaceful mind. More good news is about His shoulder. Before Kasey and I came to live here, the doc fixed His other shoulder, and She was afraid this one needed fixing, as well. Did you ever hear of bone spurs? Well that's what is wrong this time, and He got a shot and some medicine, and now it is fixed - at least for now.
The store was not Her friend today, since they were out of stuff She wanted. That's OK, because She has enough to take care of Her cats. It was butter She went after, you see. All they had was butter without salt. She's afraid I won't like it. I'll let you know how that works out.
It was so nice to have lunch with Cleo'sMom yesterday. They always have a good time. She just loves Cleo'sMom, and She sent a book home with her for their girl. They had a wonderful talk and were making some plans.
She was joking with LW'sMom about returning her dish. LW'sMom is so busy they can't get together. She will return the dish next week for sure! He and She think LW'sMom is SuperGirl, like Her OperaGirl. Was She ever so busy with everything? He says She was, but that She has forgotten, now that She's old. Well, I am ready for a big drink of water and a few kibbles. TTYL.

Hurricane-Tail Cats
I guess you know that a hurricane is a very dangerous bunch of wind and rain. We had one here a lot of months ago, and had everything all fixed. Well, one came this way again, but the wind din't come here - just the rain. There has been so much rain that people almost forgot what it was like. When there was thunder, I could get to my closet, so I did not have to squash myself. She was going to get Her haircut today, but it was too dark and nasty. Why go out when you don't have to, She said. That's what being retired is all about. If She stays inside, no on can see Her hair, anyway.
She does not want to get it shaved off, though, like LW'sMom is going to do to hers. People pay money to make you do it, and the money goes to help children like LW, who didn't have a single hair on her head when she had that medicine for her sickness. He and She pay money every month to the hospital where they fixed LW. They say, let's get this sickness figured out, so other kids will get better, too. One thing She wishes is that She could hug LW right now, for being all well and in school.
Another person She wants to hug is Smudge'sMom, because she gives good hugs. One day She will go and see all these ppeople and hug them. She wishes She could hug Her people who are far away and make everything OK. Well, She can always send hugs through the air.. I might just gve Her three massages tonight, and She can pretend they are hugs. Talk to you guys later.

One Squashed Cat
This day started out very nicely. Good butter, good pets, good weather. He was talking to His mother on the phone, while She was reading the paper. Talking to His mother always wears Him out, so He went to lie down. Kasey went in the bedroom with Him, nd He closed the door, I guess He thought She would play the TV. She didn't. Well, suddenly it got very dark outside. She said there was a big storm lots of miles away from here, but we still got some rain from it. I wasn't too worried until the thunder started. I went to get into my place in the closet, but I couldn't get the door open. She told me not to be scared, but She doesn't know how dangerous that thunder can be. I remembered when I first came here, long ago, that I got under the TV cabinet.Today it was a tight squeeze, but I got my big self back under there, and I remembered how safe it felt. I stayed there all the time until the sun came back out. Whew. That was a close call.
There is a friend of Her OperaGirl who sings opera, too. You know She plays OG's songs a lot, so She sent for this guy's music as well. Maybe the guy will come to sing in the opera that we have here where we live. That would be fun. Still no ribs-whining, thank goodness, but there will be a hamburger as well as vegetables tonight. Now that I have squeezed back out from under the cabinet, I'll check it out. Stay dry, peeps. toodles.

Summer Cats?
It seems as if this particular weekend marks the end of summer, which She says is wrong, because nature says it will be summer for two-and-a-half more weeks. Nevermind that, She said, and put Her white shoes in their boxes. When She was a kid, and when She was a teacher far away where She started, school did not start until after this end-of-summer holiday. Kids here have been back in school for a bunch of weeks. Well, Kasey and I don't have to go to school, and neither does She. So we can enjoy the holiday more than most people-and-cats.
There wasn't any talk about barbeque ribs today, so I guess that wishing is out of Her system. The problem here today was that Her printer didn't work, so She couldn't print the paper that says She cn have twice as much ice cream at this place near LW's house. Both of Them worked on it, but couldn't get anywhere. Finally, She just shut it off. When She put it on again, guess what - It was fixed. I said it was magic, but She said it was a glitch. No use to argue with Her about that.
Katy's people went away for this holiday, so He is giving Katy her food. Kasey doesn't like that, but I don't mind. Katy'sMom would do the same for us, if we needed food. But I hope They don't go away. Something out there smells like chicken. Much better than ribs. I'll go check it out. Toodles.

Laughing Cats
Please forgive me if my story is full of mistakes today. I am laughing SO hard that I might put my paw on the wrong buttons. Here's what is so funny. You have heard that She has been yearning for barbeque ribs. In fact, we have been tired of hearing about it. And you know She is very particular about money? Well, She couldn't stand it anymore, and went to a barbeque place and actually spent money on a rib dinner. I think that is hilarious. Especially since She sat and ate every single rib in the box. I did get to lick one of the ribs, but I thought that it was so funny that I didn't even feel like having more. Yes, She is the one who says to be brave and strong. She says don't spend money on things that are not necessary. She has all the food here that She needs. Personally, I am lukewarm about ribs. I can take them or leave them. But She had some ribs when She was at OperaGirl's House, and has been in a rib-frenzy ever since. These were real Texas ribs, Coffs, She told me. Why do you suppose they didn't taste as good as those far-away ribs? I was laughing too hard to answer Her. Now, if She says She wants to go back to those ribs at OG's, We will have to tie Her down, because it costs more money than about ten bags of kibbles, and we need those kibbles. I surely hope She has this rib thing taken care of. Ooooh, my sides are aching. I had better stop laughing pretty soon. But there She is, with red sauce on Her face, and licking Her fingers. Hahahahahaha.

Cats in Law
We all got up early this morning. The coffee was extra good, She said, and the news in the paper was bad. Or so She said. Something about oil again, and She said the President was right to shut them down. But this time no one was dead, and the whole thing did not collapse. It was that kind of atmosphere when He left to visit His mother. She has been having the same problems since She knew His mother. That lady thinks of her own problems all the time, and He comes home sad and tired out. What She thinks is that He doesn't know how to talk to her. How sad it must be to try to talk to a person whose thinking is all gone. Kasey and I won't know how to take care of Them when They get so old that Their thinking stops. Well, I'm not going to think about that any more, because both of them are thinking just fine. I guess that as long as They keep laughing and having fun, They will be taking care of US.
One thing She keeps talking about is barbeque ribs. She has had those before, long ago when He ate meat. She had some when She went to Her OperaGirl's house, but that was far away, and I didn't see them. I know they have bones in them, and I can lick the meat off them, because my tongue is very scratchy. What a thing to want. Ribs must be very popular because of the holiday that happens in a few more days. I hope She gets some soon, because I don't want to hear about them for a lot of days. I will share them with Her when She gets them, though. I'll keep you posted. Cheers.

Sort of Nice Day Cats
It was a nice day for Kasey and me, because after we got our butter and treats, and a few extra pets, and after She checked Her messages from computer friends, everything stopped working. The lights were on, but the phone didn't work, the computers didn't work, and the television didn't work, Maybe not such a nice day for them, but a really nice day for us, because we got lots of lap time, pets and skritches. You know Kasey doesn't like any of those things, but He gave her some extra attention, and I don't care what she says, Kasey liked it. With all those things not working, She got some things done. She is trying to arrange the things she has for people, so that She doesn't forget what She has already. You know there will be a lot more catalogs. That's the trouble. She sees just the right thing, and sends for it. When it comes and She goes to put it away, She remembers She already has just the right thing. It is really lucky that She is particular about money, or we wouldn't have room for all the stuff She wants.
Did I say this was a nice day? That was before the thunder started. I don't care what is for supper. I am going to get into my closet and be sure the thunder doesn't get in there. That doesn't mean it wasn't a nice day - just that it became sort of nice. I'm glad for Her, though, now that everything is working again. Oddy-Oats.

Vegetable Cats
It is more fun for Kasey and me to eat chicken and shrimp than vegetables, but He eats vegetables, so that is what She fixes sometimes. Today He was remembering the luscious vegetables that She made from Her OperaGirl's recipe. He said He would love to have some of that again, so what could She do. She went to the store and got what She needed. One of the things She has been missing since He started eating just vegetables is fixing nice meals for Him. She thinks it is something to share, She told me. Well, what could be better than a zillion cut up vegetables for sharing. She likes that it is a connection with Her OG, as well, kind of like a family recipe. It makes Her glad to have family, since Her brother lives very far away, and the rest of Her family are busy, busy people who see Her when they can. The Crones are Her family, as well. She says Her OperaGirl and Her OzGirl and Her AwesomesauceGirl are from the Eddie side of the family. He says He believes Eddie would like that vegetable dinner with the peanut sauce. She is chuffed about that idea. I'll bet Her OG would like that, too. She has to fix up a bag with a bunch of clothes to give to poor people, so I'll find a nice cozy spot to have a nap until She is ready to give some more pets. Sy-O- nara.
