Joyous Cats

Things are much better today, because She was definitely not quiet. She was happy and singing. Beside the fact that it was a lovely day. cool and clear with lots of flowers, She had plans with Her beloved Hana'sGran. Those two ladies never have a bad time together, and today was especially good because they went to LW's eating place. I believe She would go there every week. Even if it is a long way, it is worth the trip. She said that before, and She will probably say it again. They had nice things to eat, and got things to bring home and share. (ahem)
She was all smiles when She came in, and the smiles turned to laughter when He reported on what He learned. He found out that when His mother does run out of money, there is a place that will care for her for whatever money she can get. That means the old lady will not have to come live here with us. All four of us are dancing about that. If Her lucky stars say that this is a happy day, they are right - even though She does not believe in lucky stars. It is so pleasant to see Him look nice again, instead of worried.
Kasey and I have been busy trying to replace all the hair She brushed away before. She acts as if She doesn't want it on the chairs, but we think it adds some charm to the place. It shows how we love to be close to Them. Everyone can see it. We feel sorry for people who don't have nice cats like us. Must scamper now. Tickety Boo.

Quiet Day Cats

Today She did not get up early, but that is not all. She felt like being quiet today. That is very unusual around here, because sometimes Kasey and I can hardly sleep with all the talking and singing and clicking of computer keys. Domino'sMom says it is because She is saving Her talking for Crones. Her beloved Crones meet tonight. I am nt going with Her, so I won't know if She is quiet there. If She is, Her Crone-sisters will ask Her what is wrong. My guess is that She won't be quiet.
She got wonderful news from Her OperaGirl. Her beloved OG is going to make a DVD of all the shows that Eddie is on for this new program, and send it to Her. That makes Her very chuffed. She is lonesome for new Eddie things. It has been a long time since She has seen him in a performance, and that is what holds Her Eddie-Family together. Or at least that is part of it.
Well, things will look up tomorrow, that is for sure. Hana'sGran is coming over and the two friends will journey out to th place LW goes to, and have some good things to eat. She will ask for a take-away box, I'll bet you five kibbles. She is going there so often the guy might know just what She wants.
Well, since She is working as puzzle right now, I will go and give Her some snuggles. She loves that. Chow, Bellas.

Hairy Cats

What can I say -- Kasey and I are made out of hair. We prefer to think of it as fur, but whatever you want to call it, She was at war against it today. Beside my brushing, I have a few little hairs on the furniture and in various places here and there. She got a gadget from the store that is supposed to pick up those stray little hairs. It is not a thing that makes noise, because She knows we don't like that. It is a couple of rollers that are made of something that is supposed to grab the hairs and deposit them in a container on top of the rolls. After awhile, it got so full of hair that it wouldn't work any more, and there was still more hair. Kasey and I were laughing at Her while She brushed the chair with the full gadget, and the hair rolled up in wads and She had to pick it up with Her hands. She brought it over to where I was waiting, and She tried to show it to me. See all this hair, Cofs, She said. I may just have to make a new cat out of this. That made me run away. I guess She was sad because we laughed at Her.
Well, The fish was delicious. I don't know what She is planning for tonight, but I guess it won't be fish. That's the trouble with humans. They don't eat enough fish. Since I am already in trouble because of all the hair and the laughing, I think I'll lie low and not complain. I'll see what the dinner-genie decides. TTYL.

Antici-cats

If you think I have not been a happy cat all day, then you didn't read my story yesterday. This is the night when She is having that beautiful fish that She brought home from Cleo'sMom's birthday party. I saw the box, and there is fish in it, and some potatoes, and some lacy things that She says are onions. Well, I will surely like that!
Since She didn't have anywhere to drive today, She just stayed here with us, and I saw Her writing a bunch of stuff. He says She should write stuff about being a teacher, since She did that work for so long, so She tries to write. I don't know why She doesn't just tell me and I would write it for Her, but She says Cofs, nobody reads your stories. Oh, they are nice stories, but, well, they are just for fun. I don't mind telling you, that made me sad for a few minutes, but then I remembered my cousins. I bet all of them read a story, at least once in a while.
One thing that She is happy about is that He was watching those old TV programs. She said He is finally learning how to relax and do nothing. She is very good at that, you know, and She thinks it is good for an old person to learn that. Kasey and I have that mastered - even more than She does.
I have to go now and remind Her that I am waiting for some fish. Toodle Pip.

Happy Birthday ro Cleo'sMom

This was an exciting day for us, because it is Cleo'sMom's Birthday, and she is very special to us. It was OK for them to be gone for a while, since they went to nice place to get good things to eat - and here is the best part: It was a fish place! Of course She brought home some fish for us to share, but not tonight, because She is still very full from the lunch and the cake. She sent Cleo'sMom a special birthday cake, and they had that after eating all the fish they wanted. Kasey and I don't care about the cake, but we are both glad Cleo'sMom and Dad and Girl liked it as much as He and She did. It is nice when a present works out right.
Well, we waited patiently for them, and are ready for a nice evening with lap time and pets. It is going to be a quiet week ahead, so nobody is tense and nervous. She can visit with Her computer friends and talk about Eddie and the show he is in tomorrow night. She can check on how Her beloved OperaGirl is geting on with her trip plans, and She can find out how LW'sMom is getting on with her preaching plans. She is so proud of both of those sweet girls. If all goes well, She will see Smudge'sMom for some lovely tea. That's the kind of week we are looking forward to.
Well, no fish tonight, but stay tuned for tomorrow's news. I can wait kind of patiently for one more day. 'Night, everyone.

Cheer-Up Cats

As you have read, yesterday was not a very good day, but after a few snuggles and a couple of massages, things were better last night, and today all of us woke up feeling cheerful That is how we like it around here. And it was the day for the ride with Katy'sMom and Katy'sGirl to make sure K'sG feels fine. She likes to take that ride, as long as it isn't too early, but it is nice to chat with Katy'sMom. Today She got to work some puzzles while She waited for them, and that is one of Her favorite things, as we all know.
She had Her last cookie from the nice place to eat where She went with Smudge'sMom, but it is OK, because I think She and Hana'sGran are cooking up a visit to that place. There is a place to stay upstairs from that eating place, and She said She might just move right in there. I was very scared for a minute, until I realized it was a big joke. She would never leave Him behind, and especially not me. Kasey wouldn't care.
Her beloved Eddie is going to be on a show every week for a bunch of weeks, and that makes Her happy and sad. She is happy that people will be able to see Eddie, and sad because She won't be able to see him. The show is in a channel They don't get. One way or another, though, She knows She will see it someday. You know She believes! Meanwhile, She has to wrap up something for Cleo'sMom. I believe I will go and help Her with that. Oddy-ose.

Wait Some More Cats

Here's what has Them surprised. After all that work that They have done to be sure His mother would be cared for, today they found out some news. It puts a spin an everything, or I wouldn't waste my story on it. His mother's money will be gone by next winter, and They will have to think of something else. After they worked so hard to make things right, after They lost money and friends over it, The old lady still has too much to get care. I don't care if saying the old lady IS rude. That person has made Him frantic, and made Her cry. If I ever see her I might just pee in her shoes.
She is hoping He gets rid of that great big car and gets a nice one He can fit into the garage., since they can't get the care anyway, until they wait five years.
She cheered Herself up by going to the store, where She found just what She was looking for to give LW for her birthday. I saw it, but I promised Her I wouldn't tell what it is. Who knows? LW is very smart, and might just read my story. That would spoil the surprise. Since She didn't bring any treats, Kasey went back to bed, but I got some fine snuggles.
It is almost time for Cleo'sMom's birthday, and They sent C'sM a fancy cake. It arrived and They are going to eat it together in a couple of days.
She says that when She was as old as Kasey and me, people ate fish every Friday. This is Friday, so I'm looking forward to that old custom turning up tonight. We'll see.

Hiding Cats

When He is very upset and She is all excited about her visit with our cousins' Moms, it is a good idea for us to find an out-of-the-way place and get some good sleeping in. It is not that we are afraid They will hurt us, but there is kind of an excitement level that makes our hair stand up. It isn't that we need the closet, but just an out-of-the-way place. Since She has come home from Her lunch, She has Him calmed down a lot, so it is safe to come out now.
There is this place to eat that LW'sMom has taken Her to, and She just loves it. When Smudge'sMom wanted to meet for coffee, She says, I have a better idea. So She, Smudge'sMom, Domino'sMom and Dad went to that long-drive-away place and had a splendid time. Of course She brought some things home. She almost always does. She did eat all Her dessert this time, though. It was one of those things that looks like paper with nuts and honey in it. She smiles just talking about it. Just to be sure She has room for dessert, She brings home half of Her lunch, and we'll see what it is later.
One of Her Crones had an operation and got a new hip. She is so glad to know that everything went well. The Crones are very dear to Her. Well, I'm all rested up, so I shall go and find someone to chase. Do you hear that, Kasey? (snerk)

Ooofty Cats

When Kasey and I act silly and chase and pretend to biff, She says we are acting OoftyGoofty. No matter how She feels, She will laugh at us when we are being oofty. So we try to work it into our schedule avery couple of days. This was one of those days. Everything was routine until a man came to see Him. You probably know that He was in the Marines. This guy wanted to talk to Him about how He could get stuff from the veterans people. She went in to Her computer, but He didn't buy anything, so She gave a big sigh. It turns out that He is worried that He will be in trouble because He didn't account very well for His mother's money when He was taking care of her, and He is afraid they will take away our house. She is not about to let that happen, so She told Him to wait until we get into trouble before we start worrying. If we do, She thinks She knows how to fix it. I am not scared, and of course Kasey doesn't care. If it is about money, She is very fussy, so I'm sure they won't make us live under a bridge.
After we chased each other for awhile, Kasey went to her blue blanket, and I got my brushing and a bunch of snuggles. She has some fun things coming up, so They will enjoy them while They wait to live under a bridge. She is not very pleased with His mother for making Him worry. I'll bet 3 kibbles that you are not surprised with that. Nighty Night.

Big Questions Cats

One day every month, They go to see their Thinking People at our cousin Sabra's house. If you have read my stories before, you know that They really look forward to this meeting, because everyone there is dear to Them, and the Thinking People are wise and kind. She always has a cup of delicious coffee-the-drink, which Sabra'sDad has ready for Her. They also have snacks which He is allowed to eat. Every month, a different Thinking Person is in charge, and today was Her turn. I didn't understand Her Big Question. It was about how to be happy with all the mischeif going on in the world. That is not a hard one for me. I am happy, and I get that way by staying in the house, chasing my sister, eating my food - and some of Hers - and having a good place to nap. If there is danger, I have a closet to go to. But the humans have different answers. She just loves Her thinking people.
Katy'sMom brought over some delicious chicken to share, and She is planning on fixing some tonight, and She thinks some will go into the freezer. Katy'sMom is always doing something nice for Him and Her. She is very glad they live next door. We don't mind if Katy comes in to visit, either. She is a good neighbor, too. She had to get up early today, so She might just fall asleep with a cat on Her lap tonight. Toodle Pip.

A Cat in Trouble

I didn't mean it. I really didn't. I was sound asleep, you see, and lying on the table. I was having a nice dream, too, about stalking a piece of popcorn. Well, She decided to pick me up, and I suddenly gave Her a biff, but I really, really didn't mean to. I know Her feelings were hurt, and She said to Him, it's a good thing Coffee doesn't have claws in those front paws, or I would have a severely damaged nose. He kind of took my side, seeing as how I was sound asleep at the time, but I realized I had some making up to do.I jumped on the back of Her chair, but She didn't care. It was awhile before She let me give Her some snuggles. I should apologize, but I really didn't mean it!
Meanwhile, today the big adventure was the trip to see the doc about Her foggy eyes. They were very nice there, She said, but they didn't think She should have them fixed just yet. One eye was foggy enough to fix now, but the other wasn't, so She decided to wait until they were both about the same, and get them fixed closer together. When She got home from the doc, the green part of Her eye was almost gone and it was mostly a round, black circle. It was kind of scary, but I can see the green part coming back. I was lonesome for Them, but I am glad He went along to drive Her back home. She couldn't see very well at all. Other than that news, She seems to be looking forward to some happy things this week. Don't worry. I'll tell you all about it. Bye now.

Cookie Cats

It has been a nice day, and we were having some pets and snuggles, but there seemed to be something missing. We realized it must be cookies. Cookies are on Her list of favorite things - and it was like magic when a very sweet person and her little girl came over. Actually, her little girl is beautiful and tall - taller than Her! And to make matters even better, this girl is a Girl Scout, and she brought cookies for Her! It fixed up today and made it about perfect. The boxes will soon be opened, and hilarity will rule.
Speaking of hilarity, Her beloved Eddie will be back in the US doing a show. This time it will be even farther away than where Her beloved OperaGirl lives. Lucky for me, She doesn't expect to go to this show. It would need an airplane to get Her there, and those things cost huge sums of money. He reminded Her that it might be wiser to wait for Her friends to tell Her about it. She has been wishing to hear more about Eddie, so She has been counting time til Her OG goes to see him. OG sends excellent reports and pictures.
Tomorrow She goes to the doc to see if he can fix Her eyes. She is tired of not being able to see very well. He will take Her, so that if the doc puts stuff into Her eyes He can drive Her home. I'll let you know what She finds out. Chow for now.

Resting Cats

Every so often, a cat has to get a little rest. After keeping track of Her and Him all night long, and only getting in a couple of massages and snacks, it was a pleasure to find one of my comfy places and just relax. The phone did ring a lot, but it was nothing important. She wondered why they bothered to go on the no-call list, when they get eight or ten calls from what they call 800s. If there is someone they would like to talk to, that is happy-making, but most people ask for money or try to sell something. Maybe they should do some of the tricks that people have joked about. I think He would, but She just asks them not to call. Those guys on the phone are just like you and Kasey, She says to me. They hear you, but they don't care. I am a bit miffed by that, because I care. I just don't always want to do what She says. At least His mother doesn't call ten times a day anymore. He says she took her phone cord out of the wall and tied it to the bed. It is not polite to laugh at that.
It is almost time for Their thinking people, and She is the one with the question this time. She was studying about that while I was having a nap, but I think She will get a good one. She just loves Her thinking people.
She can't wait for our dinner. She has some leftover cake from her meeting with LW'sFamily yesterday, and She says it is perfectly wonderful. She will eat it very slowly, so it lasts a long time, and She won't have to share any with me. I don't really like sweet things, so it's OK. Later, Gator.

Yummy-Stuff Cats

Actually, it was She who got the yummy stuff, because She went to a nice place with LW and her sisters, as well as LW'sMom, Dad and another grandma. The three girls and their Mom were on a vacation from school, and She was too happy to eat all Her food, so She brought some home. I love when She does that. But the real yummy food is coming for our dinner. She has some nice fish all ready to cook, and it comes with wonderful sauce, so I will have a big taste of yummy food then. It took a whole hour to get where she saw LW, but She keeps telling Him that it is SO worth it. She is going back there next week with Smudge'sMom, and maybe Domino'sMom, because those ladies appreciate a lovely experience.
He had lunch with His mother again today. He is worried about how He will take care of her when the money runs out. It breaks Her heart to see how worried He is. It is not nice to wish people would die, but this old lady, I mean l'ancienne, (which is more polite than *old lady*) doesn't know anything. Her thinking is gone for good, and she is very unhappy all the time. Oh, well - no sense wishing.
She has another young friend who may check in on us with my stories. She told me they have cousins for us there, but She forgot their names! I hope Her thinking isn't almost gone!~ Toodles.

Cat Chasers

This morning, She told Him that we must know it is only a few days until Spring, because we have been very busy with chasing. First we sit quietly, then I stalk Kasey, and when we both look like we are going to have a fight, we end up chasing each other. If you didn't know us, you would not believe we are actually good friends. When we have chased enough to stop Them from whatever they had meant to do, we both sit down and give ourselves a nice wash. She says we are full of the Oofties, and I am not sure what that means, but I think it has something to do with chasing.
She got a letter about a big sale of fish, and She decided to buy some with Her birthday card. In a few days, a nice supply of fish will appear, and Then She will see some Oofties, for sure! I will chase Kasey until we are both tired, and then I will climb up on Her chair and share Her fish. Kasey does not share Their food, but twice in the last week, She got up on His chair. He didn't try to pet her. I know She would have, but Kasey doesn't like pets. She leaves that for me.
He has gone off to His meeting tonight. This is His last one for this little while. He is very worried about His mother running out of money before someone else starts paying, and that will happen in a few months. What She says is that old wicked lady will outlive Them. And she won't take care of us, so She is going to line up some place for us. I don't like to think about that, so goodbye for now.

Grateful Cats

There is a lot of trouble going on in a place very far away. Farther even than where Her Eddie lives. It is making Them very sad to know about these things. She said there was a bad thing called an earthquake. When the earth quakes, the water get all shakey and goes into the land in a big wall, and when that happened this time, lots of things got washed away. It as if the land got power-washed, and everything got ruined. So many people died in that water that they haven't even counted everyone yet. She says thousands. And guess what! As if that isn't bad enough, the water broke the buildings where this country gets its power. He says it is atomic power, which is very dangerous. When it works right, it is excellent, but when something goes wrong, it is this: a disaster. She says the people who live in the country where that happened have real problems. If She feels like whining because She doesn't have a lot of money, or if Her joints are achey, or if Kasey gacks up a hairball on the bed, She says She should feel ashamed of Herself, because our house didn't get washed away, or our cars, or our cats, or our cousins. We are very lucky people and cats, Coffs, She says. We have given lots of extra snuggles since this happened. She remembers what Her beloved Grandma used to say - Count your blessings. And help however you can. We start by counting our blessings, and loving each other. And you, too.

Active Cats

We have been kind of busy today. Kasey has been playing with he green mouse until He gave in and played with her, and They laughed at her jumping and squirreling around. Not to be outdone, I found a piece of something on the floor. I think it was a wire off the bread She just opened. Anyway, I stalked it, and poked it and tossed it around Until She was LOL, as the computer people say. She said I should call myself Cat de Solay, or something. I don't know what it means, but She thought it was funny, so I laughed to be polite.
Ever since She found that TV place where they have shows from when He and She were younger, They have taken time each day to watch. One of the shows is in a place called Hawaii, which is one of Her favorite places. He has heard Her talk about it so much that He wants to go there now. And another place is called The Twilight Zone. I don't get that place at all. I guess when you get really old, you like to see this old stuff, even thought it is silly. Their phones don't have buttons, and they don't have phones to carry around. If that is the way it was then, They must be very very old, and They must appreciate things the way they are now.
I have to go and look for something else to stalk so I can make Her laugh some more. Ah-dyoo.

Closet Cars

I am a big, strong cat. My sister is a small, rude, bossy cat. When thunder comes to our house, like it did last night, and this morning, you can find both of us in the closet. It reminds Her of the olden days when people had safe places in their yards in case there were bombs. You probably don't remember that, but She does, and She thought it was foolish back then, and She thnks we are foolish now. I don't know how many times She has told me that thunder is just a noise, and if you hear it, it means you are safe from the lights that CAN hurt you. Even so, She doesn't mind if we go into the closet if it makes us feel better. She just shakes Her head.
I wish you could see our new picture. It looks so pretty in its golden frame. Most of the pictures in our house are about Japan. That or Eddie. We have a splendid picture of some tulips, and the new soft flowers fits right in. It has every color we like, and no one can believe it is not a painting, until they get really close.
So, when we feel nice and safe, and come out of our closet, we have a nice house to look at. I personally like the way I have put my extra fur on Her chair, so that She knows I like to be near Her. Today, when I had my brushing, She said there must be another cat inside me, because one cat cannot have that much fur. I poked around my tummy, but did not feel any other cat. I think She is joking. I must run, now. There is something on the floor that needs stalking before He picks it up. Toodle Pip.

What Time Is It? Cats

Lat night They changed all the clocks to a new time, and now They are talking about how strange things feel. I don't see any difference, myself. When She didn't get up early, I gave Her a little wake-up massage, and She was surprised at how late She had slept. I had to laugh at Her. It was the same time I wake Her up every morning when She doesn't use the clock. Humans can be so distracted sometimes, by things as silly as clocks.
Before They changed the clocks, They looked at a movie, and I think They did not like it. She said She couldn't tell if someone was dreaming, or if it was real, or if they were in someone else's dream. Stuff kept blowing up and tumbling down. To make it worse, there wasn't a cat in it anywhere. She says She is not going to give it very many stars. She has to tell Cleo''sMom, because She thinks She told her that it would be good to watch. Forget it, is what She will tell her.
My limpy leg seems better today. She knows to be careful around my paw, because that is where the sore place was. He didn't even touch my leg, because He knows that sometimes there are automatic bites that a cat can't help. It doesn't keep me from stalking, chasing or jumping, so I guess it has fixed itself.
It is too early for Her to be fixing dinner, but I hear Her clomping around the kitchen. Changing the clocks is not helpful to us. Oddy-ose amigos.

Sleepy Cats

One thing about Her - She doesn't like to worry. She likes everything to just be what it is, but lately - well - She has been worrying. You see, He has a thing that makes him sometimes sad and sometimes happy. When He is happy, He moves around a lot, and gets into things and ideas and has trouble sleeping. When He is in the sad part of the thing, He sleeps almost all the time. Well, He is in the sleeping part now, and sometimes He sleeps for hours. Oh, She knows He will be OK, but She wonders why He can't just be lazy, like She is, but awake. Lucky for Her She has a cat that likes to snuggle up and have a little rest on Her lap or chest. That always cheers Her up, but it makes me tired sometimes.
Today She was wondering about teachers. There is a big meeting of a gazillion teachers who went to see the people who want to take money away from teachers and schools. You remember that it is something that makes Her very excited, because She thinks that teachers are very very important to make the world better. She will watch on the news, and see if those teachers at the huge meeting today managed to do some good.
It is very hard to have lots of ideas and wants and wishes to help and not be strong enough to travel to meetings and things. She feels kind of old today. Tonight They will watch a movie that sounds weird to me, but it shuld make Him stay awake and make Her a little cheerier. Bye now.

Friday Cats

When She used to go to work, Fridays were special, because it meant She had two days before She had to go to work again. Now, She doesn't go to work on any day, unless She has a meeting or something, so Friday is just a plain day. Well, not really, because She feels happy for all Her friends who still have to go to work. Her OperaGirl work in the night time, so She has a different joy for her. Two nights before she has to go bck to her work.
I am happy to say that She feels better about the world today. Oh, She is still mad at the people who don't appreciate teachers, and who don't treat other people nicely - and about the school that arrested a kid for just talking about a gun. But She is not yelling and stressing about it today. I do what I can, and then I just have to face it, She says. I'm not sure what that means, but it makes things a lot more cozy around here.
He had to go and get His mother's dirty clothes to wash, because she was running out of clean clothes. He found out it is because she puts on a lot of clothes at the same time. She had on three pairs of pants, He said. It kind of gives Her a headache, but she just has to face it, like She said before.
To make things even better, She is having shrimp for their dinner. He is allowed to eat shrimp today. I hope She remembers that I am, too. Well, Toodles, everybody. I'm glad you read my stories.

Soapbox Cats

We had to help Her to stay calm and happy today, because things kept coming up that bothered Her mind.It started when She read the paper this morning. She is very particular about schools and teaching, and He and She were having quite a conversation about how She should write a book, because She has so much to say. You know, She thinks school is very important for the whole world, and the people who want to take money away don't know how hard it is. She went on about that for quite awhile. Meanwhile, Katy Next Door had come in the house to visit, and He stopped listening to Her. Whew. Thank you, Katy.
By now, She had started on how people blame the government when this country was made so that people could take care of government business by voting, but now She is upset that people aren't paying attention. I guess it is just one of those days when a few snuggles can't do the job.
Just when I thought we could get off our soapboxes, She read something on the computer about a boy who go arrested for talking about a gun. I honestly thought She was going to scream, so I went into the closet and had a nap. She seems OK now, but He, Kasey and I are hiding the soapboxes so She can keep calm and carry on, like it says on the card. At least He gets to go to a meeting, so it is up to us to keep Her mind off these big troubles. Let me warn you - don't get Her started on these topics if you want some quiet. I will check on Her now and get back to you tomorrow.

Better Day Cats

I feel a bit better today, thanks for asking. I still have the limpy leg, but it doesn't keep me from having fun. I just lie down more than usual. You are getting more like me, She says, although She doesn't lie down until bed-time. I think She considers Herself more of a sitter than a mover, and I'm sure She couldn't chase me, even if She tried. She has kind of achy bones sometimes, as well you know, and She is also on guard against falling down. How many times can you fall, She says, without hurting yourself. She doesn't want to find out.
It was Crones day today for lunch, which had Her waking up early without the alarm clock, and being excited for it to be 1:00. Today it was a delightful group of Her favorite ladies. Sabra'sMom talked about her travels, and Smudgre'sMom told about her travels, while the Cronelets helped Her remember stuff. The conversation took a serious turn, but soon it was back up to news and fun and laughing. She certainly loves to be with Her Crones, and this lunch was one of the reasons why.
She finally decided on a frame for the picture that Her OperaGirl made for Her birthday. She really wants to get that hung up, and also, She is quite motivated to find a way to put pictures on Her computer.
Since She had a big lunch, dinner will be kind of small, so I'm not too curious. More news tomorrow.

Owie Cats

Dear readers, I seem to have an owie. I have been quite snuggly, and it has made Her suspect something was wrong, I tried to tell Her I was fine, but She said Coffee is yowing more than usual. This morning, while She was fixing our breakfast, She noticed I was limping. I have to admit, I have a bum leg. She wants to know where it hurts, but I can't quite pin it down. All I know is when I step on that paw, I have an owie. I think I pulled a place in my leg when I was doing my daily chasing yesterday. She looked carefully at my paw and didn't find any sore places. I think She is going to check with LW's oldest sister, because she is very smart about animals. Right now I am quite comfy, and nothing hurts unless I want to walk. She says it sounds like I have what She has, but She says I am too young for that. Tired old bones, She calls it.
She doesn't mind getting old, She says, except that She gets tired. You know, She and I are both um, larger than the other cats and Moms. She says that a sign of getting old is when you can only do one thing in a day, so She always tries to have two things on Her schedule. So far today, She has had Her hair cut, and She has taken care of Her beloved cat (ahem) and still has a couple of things to finish. I saw Her take out one of Her little pies to have for Her dinner, and I think She selected that so that I could share some of the gravy. I'm going back for a few more snuggles, so ah-dyoo for now.

Knackered Cats

When we try to keep up with Her on a day like this, it just wears us out. If She is going here and there, it is not easy to get snuggles and pets, and we try to follow Her. Then, today
She went out with a list of errands to do and didn't come home for a long time. It is not easy to rest while She is gone, especially if He has gone, too. So Kasey and I keep watchful for strange sights, and listenful for strange noises. By the time She got home, we were ready to just have a rest. The funny thing is that She was just as knackered, from going around on Her errands. She didn't get everything done at that. She wants a delicate frame, She says, for Her new Soft Flowers picture, and She didn't see just the right thing. She knows what She wants, and He may have to make it for Her. Right now, we are all too tired to think about it. So She rolled the picture back up and said Tomorrow is another day.
Do you know what would make it all OK? If there would be fish for dinner. I happened to see Her put away some cabbage stuff that goes nicely with fish. Kasey and I don't like it, but He and She do, and it would be perfect to have with fish. You know that every day has a bright spot, even when you are tired and need some pets and a nap. She is working a puzzle right now, so I will join Her for some lap-time. TTYL.

Bargain Cats

Someone called and said that They had something waiting at the store, so when He went to have lunch with His mother, She went to pick up the packages. They like this store, because they use a special card that gives them some money off every time they use it. She sort of hit the jackpot, because when She paid, they gave He a paper for money off something She likes. She bought that and some other stuff They need, and when She paid for those things, She got ANOTHER paper for money off a lunch pizza. When She went to get that, She remembered that they needed coffee-the-drink beans, and She had a card for THAT left over from Christmas, so that fancy coffee did not cost Her anything! She was almost singing by now. And She had a little pizza for Her lunch!
She sid that if She had any more good luck, the store would have to pay Her to leave. Some days are just like that.
Besides that, it was a regular Sunday, with a paper to read and cats to play with. They talked about what is on TV, and She said She wishes She could see the show that Her beloved Eddie is going to be in. It starts pretty soon. Since it only goes for 8 weeks, maybe they could get it and cancel it later. Would that be fair? Hmmm. We will have to think about that. Since She has traveled far away to see Her Eddie, it might work to spend a little bit of money. I'll tell you about it when I know the answer. Chow for now.

Playful Cats

Ever since Mazie was here to visit, Kasey has been having fun with the green mouse on a string. She will play with it by herself, but her favorite is when He or She hold the stick and wave it around. I have never seen Her so tickled pink with Kasey before. This playing is a new thing, you remember, and now Kasey wants to play every day. I mostly just watch, but it is kind of funny for me to see Kasey acting so silly, since she has always been kind of an uppity cat, sniffling at people trying to get her to play.
It was happy news again today, when the postman came. It seems that She is still getting birthday presents. Today a white tube came in the mail, and when She opened the top, she carefully removed a picture that had Him and Her making funny noises, like oooooh and aaaaah. It is a beautiful picture of some flowers. She says its named soft flowers. It is from Her beloved OperaGirl, who takes pictures like an angel, She says. They are going to go to a special place and have it put into a frame, and then She will hang it on the wall where everyone can see it. Our house is full of Her OG's pictures, but She still wants more.
We aren't having fish tonight, but the meat She is fixing has nice gravy on it, which I will taste to be sure it is good (snerk). More news tomorrow.

Squeeling Cats

Today we had to squeel to accompany Her. When He got the mail, there was a packet from Her beloved OperaGirl, and inside were 12 squeelmakers. At least, that's what it sounded like to Kasey and me. There were 12 cards to make into letters and notes, and each one had that picture of Her and Her beloved Eddie. It is the same as the picture in our living room I think you know that Her OperaGirl took that picture, so OG had it made into these little cards. When She opened to packet, that's when we all squeeled. Of course She had to look at every single card, even though they were all alike. She was way more happy than you could describe as chuffed. I guess She was squeechuffled.
She probably would have spent the rest of the day squeeling about those cards, but She had an appointment. It was with Katy'sGirls school, and She wanted to make sure that K'sG was getting all the right schoolwork, and that the school knew how adorable she is. Maybe it was left over from Her new packet of cards, but She was pleased with the way the school is caring for Katy'sGirl, They understand that she is quiet and shy, and when a person or a cat is like that (ahem) you can't just say stop being quiet and shy, you have to help them. She will keep checking, though.
I bet you can guess what She is having for our dinner. Yes, leftover pizza. I am glad, because it tasted very good. Later, gator

Nice Day Cats

Ever since He woke up, this has been a nice day. He made sure our kibbles were in our diishes, and water was in our cups. He fed the birds and got Her paper. By this time, She was up and playing with us. You would not believe how Kasey loves to play with that green, fuzzy mouse. Mazie must have pushed the right button on Kasey, because she had never been interested in that toy before. If She doesn't play with her, Kasey plays by herself. I don't get it. When She dangles it for me, I just bite the string. I guess She doesn't like that, because She looks unhappy when I do that. Maybe I learned to play before I came to live here, but I don't remember. My best tricks are snuggleing, massaging and purring. She says that is a perfect set of tricks, and maybe someday I will play with a mouse and have fun.
This is the day that He goes to His meeting. He missed it last week, but He is surely going today. When He goes, She is planning to go to get a nice pizza. She has a birthday card with money, and She will use that, so She will hit the jackpot - getting a nice pizza, paying for it with a birthday card, and not having to tempt him with the meat on the pizza! Here's a big plus: I like the meat on the pizza, too. Nice day, nice pizza, nice bargain. All of our favorites! Chow, bellas.

El Gatos

Kasey and I live in a place called Texas, and a really really long time ago, longer than They have been alive put together, longer than l'ancienne even has been alive, this place used to be its own country. Before then, it was part of a place where everyone spoke another language. In that language, the words that say cats is el gatos. I put that for my title today, because there were bad feelings between Texas and the other place, but Texas was once part of it. After a few years, Texas became part of the USA, and that's where we are now. So it makes Her sad that so many people don't like the old country's people. She doesn't understand it. Some of those people have families that have lived here for a huge lot of years. Another language, skin that is dark from the sun, and nothing besides that that is different. It makes my head sore to think about it, so let's go on to better news.
Things have been kind of smooth around here today. They worked on helping Him find a tooth guy that didn't cost so much, and She got some de-Cluttering done. Do you know, we could de-Clutter around here every day, and the next day there would be more clutter. Her excuse used to be that She might need stuff for Her work, but She does not teach school anymore, so now what's the excuse? Well, I will just relax and go see what She is fixing for our dinner. Oddy-ose.

March Cats

Today She changed the calendars to March. The first day of March means the end of Her month-long birthday celebration. He had to laugh at Her when She said She was sorry to see it go. Does that mean You will miss all that ice and cold He said. That made Her agree that it was OK to be March. Another thing that made Her glad is that Smudge'sMom is home from her plane ride far away.
Every so often the paper sends a letter saying that She needs to pay for Her morning paper. Every time the letter comes, She says She doesn't need that paper. He says He knows She likes to read the paper while we have our breakfast, and She sends in the money. Here's what He told me. It makes up for missing the news every night because She wants to watch the guy with the fake news. Don't tell Her He said that. because She thinks He likes to watch that guy, too.
His ears feel better today, and He went to see the tooth guy. It is His turn to get a bunch of fixed-up teeth. He doesn't need fake ones, which is lucky.
She feels kind of sad for Her OperaGirl, because that nice lady did not have a good weekend. She says She wanted to get on an airplane and go and give Her OG some hugs. I am sure glad She didn't do that, because I like Her to be here with me. Feel better, OperaGirl. May is coming! "Night, everyone.
