Cheesecake Cats

This was a day so full of delights for Her that she can't imagine anything nicer. You see, it started with Him getting Her some of that nice soup that She loves. He surprised Her with five big bowls of it, so She can have some every day for almost a week. That is what real friends do, She said. Then the mail came, and there were things She ordered already for next year. Things are on sale, now, Cofs, She told me. Also there was a nice gift from Her Eddie-sister and a sweet note from Mazie's next sister. She was already so very happy, but that wasn't all of it.
You remember today is Cleo'sGirl's birthday. The place where They went to eat Their dinner was kind of a long ride away, but it was all about cheesecake. She says everyone loves cheesecake, and so She and He were very glad to go to this new place to celebrate with Cleo'sFamily. She said the list of things to eat was a whole book, not just some pages. It was very tempting and it took a long time to look at all the things and decide. When She decided, it turned out that He had chosen the same thing. She had orange potatoes with Hers. Both of them ate only half of Their dinner and - you guessed it - brought the rest home. I just love when They do that. They even brought half of Their cheesecake. She hopes Cleo'sGirl likes her birthday present. He and She are ready to start a new year, so Kasey and I are, too. If only there weren't a bunch of fireworks going off and making noise - but that is what humans do. Happy New Year.

No Fish Cats

This is the day when we usually have fish for our dinner, but I heard Her tell Him that we would not have it tonight. That was not good news to me. Oh, sure, They had lots of fish last week, and enjoyed a lot of leftover fish for lunches and dinners, but I don't believe there is such a thing as too much fish. There are people who eat fish every day. She has some other good things, though, and for some reason, She likes to change the menu every day. Well, I am at Their mercy, and I have no choice. Check back with me, though. I might just pout.
It was a nice day, otherwise, around here. She did a bit of work, and did some business things on the computer, so She could loaf about with a clear conscience. She looks forward to Cleo'sGirl's Birthday Party tomorrow, and is excited that it is Her beloved OperaGirl's Birthday on the next day. I wonder if Her OG will like her present. She sent it a long time ago, and She hopes OG didn't forget about it.
The best thing about today was that both of Them were here all day. It is a long time since I have been able to get pets and snuggles each time I needed them. I am not going to stress about the fish. Instead, I will go lie in the sun-spot by the back window. Aaaaahhh.

More Lunch Cats

It was hard enough to be cozy today, with the fixing guy working on the driveway and making us a new doorbell, and She going off to another lunch with friends. I believe I will tell Her to stay home for lunch tomorrow and the next day, because She is not available for giving snuggles to Her adorable (ahem) cat when She goes off like this. It is hard to be cross with Her, though, because She comes home so happy and tells Him all the wonderful things She has done and seen. I saw Her bring home a couple of boxes, so there may be a bright side to this after all. I am very glad that Her next going out is not until Saturday, when He and She go to Cleo'sGirl's Birthday. I don't see anything on her calendar for next week except a time with Hana'sGran. She has waited a long time for that lunch, so I will not be cross.
Long ago, before we were born, She worked at a lovely school for her favorite kind of kids - the kind that needed Her. The lady that made that school started a place where people could live and work, even if they had problems. Now that place has a store and a garden and a place to eat. That's where She and Her friends went today. She said it was a long way to ride, but the friends had a nice, easy car, and She was chuffed to spend time with them. I'm going to sniffle that bag She brought home. Could it be something a cat could share? I'll let you know.

Foodie Cats

When we eat, Kasey and I mostly have delicious, nutritious kibbles. She won't let us have food from cans, because Her last cat, our cousin Charlotte, got sick and died from some bad food out of a can. We like our kibbles very much, but I have an extra source of delightful snacks. When She is eating Her dinner, I sniffle what She has on Her plate. I do this sniffling from the floor or the back of Her chair. Cats are good snifflers. If I sniffle fish, or pizza, or spaghetti or something with gravy, I am willing to share with Her. When She is almost done, and most of Her plate is empty, I get up on the arm of Her chair and sneak a couple of licks. She says that letting a cat, even an amazing cat like me, lick your plate makes a lot of people say eeewww. So if there is company, I don't do it - but She says it is their right to keep cats off their stuff to eat. She tells me not to be a judge of what people do, so I try to remember to wait for my snack if someone is here.
Katy'sMom gave Them some nice stuff to eat from their Christmas party, and They will eat it tonight. I guess She won't go to Crones, because nobody said they wanted to meet. She can rest up for Her second-last party this week. She can't wait to see those friends and have some good things to eat - AGAIN! I have a feeling that my extra food will be scarce in the next few days. Oh, well. Stay tuned.

Happiness Cats

This is the day They went to visit their Thinking Friends. They had to start early, because He lost the glass out of one side of His glasses, and He needed to go to the glasses place and have them fix it. When He got there, He couldn't find the missing glass. He was kind of sad about that. They went on to visit Sabra'sMom-and-Dad and another lovely friend who knows how to read stones. That lady is one of Her beloved Crones. It was She who had charge of the question today, and She made it about happiness. We wonder about happiness, too. The questions made cats realize how nice their lives are, here with Them. We are cozy, we have friends and cousins, we get plenty of pets and kibbles, and at least I laugh. Kasey, not so much - although I have seen her laugh when I get into trouble.
When They got home, He said He would have to buy a new glass for His glasses. It cost a lot of money, but what else could He do? He was waiting to get his fixed glasses when She found the missing piece. He called the glasses guy and said cancel the costing ones, and they did. So He went back to get the work done that He wanted done in that early morning. A strange day, but a happy one, because we appreciate what we have. Nighty-night.

Close Call Cats

Whew. When She woke up this morning, She felt kind of sick. Her tummy hurt and She didn't want any bread with the black berries in it. I was sorry for Her, but come on. That's where I get my butter every morning. I pestered Her until She got some plain butter out, warmed it up and gave me five fingers worth. She told Him She was afraid She was getting a cold or the flu. She didn't think She could keep their lunch date later. He told Her to go back to bed. She did that, and after awhile She woke back up and felt fine. She says She felt even better because She had a close call. He understood, but I don't.
There is a place They like to go, but it costs more than She likes to spend very often. Well, the place sent Her a paper that said They could get food for less money, because They had that anniversary last week. It is because the food place gives you a paper when you go there. You put your name and email, and tell them your anniversary and your birthday. He thought it was kind of silly to do that, but now He knows why it was a good idea. Guess what? He got another paper from the same place saying They could get a birthday dinner. As long as She feels so good, She thinks they should make another date. I bet that after all this excellent food three days in a row, a nice bowl of soup will taste especially good. TTFN

Calm and Patient Cats

We knew that They were going to be gone a long time today, and luckily She left the computer on, so I could tell you my Christmas thoughts. First of all, the custom of having seven kinds of fish on the night before Christmas is my idea of a good plan. I am also very glad that there are people who give presents to cats. I do prefer that They stay home, but oh, how She loves to give people presents! She can't wait to see if the kids like what She got them, and that makes up for how tired She gets, and how sad She is that it is hard for Her to move around. One thing He and She both know is that whatever they get to eat at LW's house will be very special. That house is full of great cooks. LW'sDad and sibs have learned to make good things to eat in order to help while LW'sMom was in Minister School. The two of Them will probably be way too full to give me anything but kibbles when They get home.
She was thinking of all Her other grandkids today, and hoping they all had lots of presents. One thing about this time of year is that He and She are so happy to have fun things to do, nice people to visit, and nice friends and family to send out love to. Kasey and I send love to all our cousins and wish them lots of treats. I hear Them coming now, so I'll say a festive goodnight.

Short Story Cats

I don't have time to write a very long story tonight. First of all, it is His birthday, and He and She went to Cleo'sHouse and ate a bunch of dishes of fish, and they brought some home! You can understand that I am anxious to see if a hard-working cat can get a tiny taste. Also, There were presents for Kasey and me, and I really have to check them out. They got some nice things, as well, including a stunning picture of me in a cute frame. They are really full of fish, an I respect that.

Plan Change Cats

Cats are very well known for being flexible, so if something comes up, we are ready to curl in another direction. He and She are not nearly so flexible in their bodies, but in our minds, They are a tiny bit more filxible than Kasey and me. For example, the calendar today was about going to a favorite place for lunch with some delightful friends. At the last minute, one of the friends felt sick, and couldn't go - so they changed it to next week. She was disappointed, but She knew it was exactly the right thing, so She set about to find something to do. She labeled the Christmas bags, and admired how pretty they looked. She took them into the me-table and got them out of Her room where the computer is. She put away a bunch of other stuff, to save for presents for later. (She does that, you know). It was quite easy to use Her new computer, except She couldn't find Her game. The ComputerGuy said he would fix that.
The sad news for me is that She is not fixing fish for our dinner because tomorrow They will have 7 kinds of fish at Cleo's house. She is also waiting to hear if LW'sMom will be able to have the regular Christmas Day dinner because of a flood at their house, so you have to wait and see.
We are kind of excited that Smudge'sMom and Dad went to a pretty place that is so far away that they had to use an airplane. I will enjoy being flexible while I sleep on Her tummy this evening. Toodles.

Update Cats

One day last week, He tried to get on Her computer. Remember - His needed fixing? Well, He was annoyed with how slow Her computer was. He made some kind of deal with His ComputerGuy, and He traded Her computer for a new one that is faster. He paid the difference, and made it Her anniversary, Christmas and birthday present. Of course, She was fine with the old one, but the new one is slick, and I didn't have to learn any new skills to write my stories. I met the ComputerGuy and his pretty girlfriend, who understood why I decided to have a nap in the closet, just to stay out of the way. So if this story sounds bigger and faster, it is because of the computer update.
They sure have a lot of good food that they got for gifts. She has a completely sweet tooth, and so a lot of it is cookies and cupcakes. People know He should not eat sweets, so He got some little round crackers and some cheese to put on them. She just can't believe She is so lucky. Kasey and I don't like sweet things, but you can bet we will share His cheese.
It is funny how ComputerGuy cleaned everything up. She doesn't like people to move Her stuff around, but She has managed to find all the important stuff. Have a nice evening, dear readers.

Delighted Cats

The big thing about today was Her lunch with Her beloved Crones. They have a custom to have a party two times every year so that they can have lunch at a nice place and wish each other good things. Today they went to the nice place where LW'sMom showed them. She just loves it there. They have nice food, though it's sometimes messy to eat, but the best part is the dessert. They must have a hundred kinds of cake and pie and cookies and strange stuff. I like it when She goes there, because She always brings home half of Her sandwich so She will have room for dessert. Everyone had such a nice visit and She was glad they liked the place She picked. One thing that poked Her was that they charged for every refill of coffee and tea. She told the sweet lady who owns the place that it hurt Her feelings that all Her friends had to pay extra for drinks, and the lady said it was a mistake. It was a good thing that She mentioned it. People got their money back or free cookies. She took the cookies and shared one with Him when She got home. Even though it takes a long time to drive there, this is Her favorite place to get good things to eat.
We were so happy when She came home that some snuggles were necessary. She will settle down for awhile and hope everyone liked the lunch as much as She did. More adventures will be coming, with more food and friends. Here are Her favorite things: Him, Kasey and me, friends/grandchildren, and good food. Bye for now.

Celebration Cats

Never mind that Christmas is coming, and everyone is out shopping. The roads are crowded and still They have to go out in the car. You know why. Many years ago, before many of us were born, He and She got married. They lived in two houses before this one, but They have been here most of the time. Now this is OUR house, and we are all good friends with each other. Some of Their good friends live in their own houses, but when they have a celebration, they all eat together. Today the special friends are Smudge'sMom and Dad. They are much younger, but they got married on the next day, so every year they all celebrate together. This year S'sM&D are going on a long trip to a lovely country where they will see lots of things they can't see here. He and She are chuffed for them. They will have their Christmas and birthday presents tonight, along with good things to eat. Maybe They will bring some home. I would like that.
They got another present today from Abby's Mom and Dad. It is a bunch of fruit made to look like flowers. It looks beautiful, but They will eat it anyway.
He gave Her some fancy candy this morning, and a pretty card. She thought They weren't giving presents, but She is keeping the candy. Kasey and I don't like candy, and He isn't supposed to eat it so...what else can She do? (snerk) Cheerio, dear readers.

Neat Cats

Since She has lots of marks on Her calendar, She wants to look nice. She is whining about how She looks without glasses, as if it made a difference. She says Kasey and I are most beautiful after we have been brushed, so She went to get Her hair brushed today. Of course, the sweet lady who brushes has to cut Her hair first, and then She brushes it out very smooth and sleek. Here is the funny part. She told Him that Her hair was perfect, with every single kink brushed out of it, but when She went outside, the wind blew it every which way, so now we are neater than She is.
She has gotten tired of the purse that hangs around Her neck, and took Her pockets to a new place, where the price was fair. Next week it will be all sewed up nicely and She will be wearing pockets again.
She found a place to put gas in Her car and it was the least She has paid in a lot of months. The car still held a lot of gas, but don't forget, She hasn't been driving it very much since before Her eye stuff. Just when She gets ready to grouch about that, She remembers all the nice things She has, and how lucky She is to have a nice car and lovely cats. She remember what Her Grandma told Her. Count your blessings. I am counting mine, because I smell nice food cooking. The outside cats only get a little food, but Kasey and I get a lot. Yummm.

Pre-Christmas Cats

There is a lot going on about Christmas around here. He and She have Their calendars quite full of lots of marks, and They are completely chuffed about seeing all their friends. She has had so much fun picking out presents for everyone, and She has been getting messages about the stuff that the mail has already delivered. She is so tickled when someone tells Her they like what She chose for them, because that is just what She wanted. He has it in mind to get Her a computer that works so much faster. She Doesn't think She needs that, but it will make Him happy for Her to have it, so - since that is what She likes about a present - She can't argue with that.
Some extra fun was that Cleo'sDad came over to help Him with His projects. Cleo'sDad is very smart about projects, and He could really use the help. While he was here, They wanted to give him coffee-the-drink, but the coffee making machine got a leak in it somehow, so He had to go and get a new one. You wouldn't expect Them to go without coffee-the-drink, would you? If so, you really don't know Her.
Now we have everything kind of sorted out, so we can all relax and enjoy Her new seeing and wait for time to give out more presents. I like getting ready for Christmas, don't you? Ah-dyoo.

Complex Cats

Getting His computer working again is a very complex problem. Luckily, Kasey and I were here to help Him. He got it back from the ComputerGuy, who thought his job was over. Well, He worked on getting it hooked up last night, while we were sleeping, and very early He called the ComputerGuy and said He was stumped. They talked for a long time and She interrupted to tell ComputerGuy where to get a shirt that says No, I will not fix your computer. If the CG didn't think it was funny, that's OK, because She did.
She left all the complex drama to take Katy'sGirl to see her doc, so She had a nice visit with Katy'sMom. She will take Katy'sBoy in a couple of weeks. In the middle, She will give them their presents, and hope they like them. All the presents are done, and He wants to get Her a fancy new computer, and make it so She doesn't have to wait so long for things to turn on. I will be able to learn it very quickly, because I am a clever, complex guy.
We will have a nice evening and a quiet day tomorrow, to get ready for all the adventures this week. I am fine with that, since there is chicken for dinner. Poodle Tip. (Get it?)

Eddie Cats

If you have known Her longer than a few days, you know She has a favorite guy named Eddie. Eddie is a funny guy, but he can also be serious when he plays a part in a show. She feels so much love for this Eddie that She told him that She would be his Grandmother. She thinks being a grandmother is the best thing a person can be, exactly even with being a Mom and a teacher. She has never been a Mom, but She has picked out some special grandchildren. Except for Him, they are her favorite people. Well, Her grandkid who is Her OperaGirl has made this an Eddie Day at our house, and that makes Kasey and me Eddie Cats. Her OperaGirl went very far away to see Eddie lots of times, This time, OG sent Her a shirt with Eddie's picture on it. He is worried that She may never take it off. Lots of months ago, She went to visit Her beloved OperaGirl, and OG took lots of pictures. One showed Her with OperaGirl, OzGirl and another girl. She has that picture on Her wall. Except NOW She has it on a cup to use for coffee-the-drink. I wish you could all see how chuffed She is.
It so happens that I am a happy Eddie Cat myself. It has more to do with lovely pink fish than it does with Eddie, but being happy is what counts, after all. Toodle Pip

Seeing Eye People

This was the last day for putting drops in Her eyes. She had to go see the doc that fixed Her eyes, and She is so chuffed that She has been smiling all day. After all the worry and appointments and eye drops, it is finally over and here is the result: She can see the TV, a movie and to drive without any glasses at all. She can see to use the computer with regular glasses from the store. She can see to read, but will see even better when She gets the glasses with the right number. It might seem like a waste to go through all that when you are so very old, but She says it is worth it if She didn't live another week. I don't want to think about that. I'm just telling you what She said.
They stopped for a celebration lunch and She brought a lot of it home. That way, She gets two meals for the price of one. He brought home something, too. Hers smelled like bacon, but I couldn't tell what His is. They have a lot of partying ahead, and if I am lucky, I'll get some good food to share. She was teasing me that there is no such thing as Kitty Bags. Hmmph.
He has been Her driver through all of the eye stuff, and He has not complained even one time. She says They have been together for 36 years, and it has gone by very fast. Kasey and I are glad They found each other and then found us. Cheerio.

Easy Day Cats

It isn't that I wanted to get up early, because there were no appointments today, but He was determined to have us all awake for some reason. Oh, did I wake you up? He said, I didn't mean to. Well, She got up, but Kasey and I went right back to sleep - after a drink of water and a snack - and butter, of course. So I had a nice easy day. He was still trying to fix His computer that has a bug in it. I looked all around but I didn't see any bug. He had to take it to the computer guy. He tried to check His email on Her computer, but They couldn't figure out how to do it.
We have been looking all over for a certain thing for LW'sDad. I helped Her read the ads and catalogs. Guess what! Today He finally found it. LW'sDad will think it is funny.
This thing with Her eyes is getting easier, but She says She couldn't do it without the things Hana'sGran gave Her. They fasten on the glasses so She always knows where they are. She is not going to need any fancy glasses from the glasses store. This whole eye thing has been easier than any of us thought it would be. She doesn't like the way She looks without glasses all the time, but She looks fine to me. I can snuggle around Her face with no problem.
I'm wide awake now, and listening to Her Italian boys sing songs about Christmas. They try to sing in Her language and She says they sound cute. Oh, well. I guess this is the time to say chow.

Healthy Cats

Kasey and I are really healthy, so we don't have to go to the doc today, but She had to go, because they have to be sure Her medicine is working right. She has a good doc who checks Her heart and stuff, then decides if She should keep on taking the medicine, then the doc gives Her a paper to give the medicine people. Today She came home with the paper, so everything is fine. If only She could walk around easier people would not guess She has old-lady muscles and joints. To tell the truth, I have a couple of achy joints myself, but you can hardly tell. You can see Her achy joints from across the street. (snerk)
One thing She likes to do is have someone paint Her toes. She says it is a treat to have someone massage her toes and then paint them red. She was so chuffed that the doc said She was fine that She treated Herself to getting shiny red toes. Kasey and I don't have any toenails in front, so we are safe from having our toes painted. Whew. She may like that, but I sure would not!
She got some pretty cards in the mail. She loved the one that was a picture of Abby and her people.. She sends His and Her cards by computer. She just hopes everyone gets them! Now it is time for dinner, and I smell chicken! TTYL

Postal Cats

She had the presents for lots of weeks. She got the packages ready to mail a long time ago. They sat in Her office for lots of time. Well, today they all went riding to the Post Office, which is where you mail stuff. There was a package for Her beloved OperaGirl that had a package inside a package, because her birthday is soon after Christmas. One for Her beloved Mazie, with a bunch of surprises in it. One was for Her beloved brother, besides the one coming in the mail from somewhere else. She hopes he will be tickled pink. One package for Her beloved Eddie-Sister in Florida. Her beloved PoetryGirl will get one, and so will her boys. One is on the way to Her beloved grandchild here in Texas, and one for Her beloved StefferGirl, who is now so happy with her new job. Now for the ones that He and She will just give to the people. They have to wait until closer to Christmas. The next ones are for SmudgesPeople, who will be sailing away before Christmas gets here. They will be celebrating each other's marriage birthdays together next week. Oh, She loves giving people their presents that She buys all through the year.
So we are ready for a quiet evening with some delicious soup with chicken in it. Kasey and I are happy cats. Cheery-bye.

Pleased Cats

Did you ever have one of those days when everything just seemed pleasant? That's the kind of day it was here. Everyone had some good sleep last night, the butter was good this morning and so were the snuggles. Every time I felt like having a snuggle, there She was. Not out visiting or watching a graduation, but right here where I like Her to be. I got an especially good brushing today, and laughed when She said She could make a new cat out of the hair in the brush. I know She can't really do that, you see.
The only trouble is talking about a subject called politics. He and She both like the President and are worried about the other guys who want to replace him. They are afraid the country might turn into a huge mess and They can't stand that. But luckily, Kasey and I don't understand most of it, so we could still feel pleasant.
Yesterday They were too full of duck to want any dinner, but tonight He asked for spaghetti. She gets the healthful kind, so it is OK. It is a once-in-awhile kind of dinner. He doesn't feel like He can't get what He wants to eat that way.
They have a lot to do tomorrow, but you may be most interested that the packages are going in the mail. If you get one too soon, just save it, OK? You will only have to wait a little while. Sy-o-nara.

Excellence Cats

Today was about LW, her Mom, Dad and Sibs. They were all together to see LW'sMom finish Minister School, and while He and She were there, they found out that the school gave a special Award of Excellence. Can you guess who won it? Yes! It was LW'sMom. He and She were so proud they just about popped! I was proud, too, and I guess even Kasey was. Kasey and I agreed that if there had been an award for Cat Excellence, we surely would have won it. When They got home, They said they agreed.
Everyone went together to have some good things to eat. She said it was little pancakes with cooked duck inside. She had not eaten duck before, and was surprised at how much She liked it. She had such fun sitting at the Kids' Table, along with Him and another Grandma. This is funny. There was a circle on the table that turned around so that everyone could take their stuff off of it. It sounds like a good idea, but it was kind of a mess by the time everyone got done.
She was also chuffed that LW'sMom brought the stole that Smudge'sMom made and showed it to everyone. It looked nifty on her, and She almost cried from happiness. This is the sad part. They were so full of duck and stuff that They didn't feel like eating dinner. They just want snacks. Oh, well. You can't have fish every night, I guess. Mostly it was a good day. Cheerio.

Telling Cats

Today is the day I can tell you about the secret for LW'sMom. You see, she is finishing all her work at minister school and graduating tomorrow. He and She wanted to give LW'sMom a special thing called a stole that ministers wear when they are giving a talk. She looked all over, asked advice from other ministers, and finally went to Smudge'sMom and said you are a wonderful sewer of lots of things, can you help me design a stole, and then make it for me? I will pay you what the other ones cost. Smudge'sMom said yes and the two of them looked at material and ideas and colors, and finally S'sM made the stole like one of her quilts and stitched about a million little designs on it. It was a masterpiece. So today She and S'sM went to eat lunch with LW'sMom, and they gave her the present together. She told Him that LW'sMom liked it just fine, and I am glad because it is hard to keep secrets.
While She was at the lunch place She made a reservation for the Crones' lunch. She really loves that place, and wishes it were not such a long drive to go there. I think She should be more careful about eating so much, and bring more stuff home.
When She was getting out a drink of tea, I was by Her feet, and I saw my very favorite pink fish waiting to get cooked for our dinner. That is better than leftovers. I am not telling any more secrets today. Tune in tomorrow.

Toy Cats

Sometimes They get packages that have toys on them for us to play with. For instance, one company closes its boxes with straps. She cuts them off to open the box, and I go into a frenzy of trying to knock them down onto the floor. That is much more fun than playing with Kasey, who just likes the boxes. He leaves them down for her to play with and she jumps in and out of them, sometimes turning somersaults. Whereas I attack the straps, conquer them and push them on the floor. She uses Her pick-up stick to get them back on the table, and so the game goes on.
I believe She has gotten the last of the boxes for now, and all we have to do is get to the post office, then wait for present-giving. She loves present-giving way more than present-getting. I guess that happens when you get old. She can start tomorrow when She has a present for LW'sMom. By tomorrow at this time, I can tell you all about that. LW'sMom will have it by then, and it won't have to be a secret any more. I am great with keeping secrets. Better than He is, that's for sure.
Her OzGirl says Eddie has left Oz and will be back in his regular home by now. Eddie is through with the show that She saw twice, and might rest before he makes a new show to take all over the world. Meanwhile he will work on movies and TV. She keeps hoping She will get to see them someday, because they show them first VERY far away, where Eddie comes from. Thinking about that keeps Her mind off the presents. Oh, She is so very anxious to see if people like them. I'll be back tomorrow. Don't forget.

I know She has been ready for all those presents for a long time, and most of the packaging and sorting is done, but She has to keep Her eye on the schedule, She has LW'sMom to think about this week, and two docs and Katy'sGirl to think about next week, and the NEXT week is the dinner and packages with Smudge'sPeople to cheer about how long they have all been married - and THAT takes them right up to His birthday, which is on the day before Christmas, when packages go to Cleo'sPeople. Whew. Usually They go to have Christmas with LW and her people, but since LW'sMom has just finished a really hard school time, she may not be up to making a big Christmas dinner. Well, He and She have packages for all of them, and somehow She will make sure they get them. You know She doesn't wrap packages in paper. She thinks that is not good for the trees. She puts all the packages in bags you can use at the store, or in a box that had something else in it before. All of this means She needs to find a time to go to the post office and mail things for Mazie and OperaGirl and Her other special relatives. You are probably saying what's the problem? Go ahead to the post office, but you might have forgotten that it isn't easy for Her to get around. You may just jump in the car and go, but She is s-l-o-w. I promise you one thing: If you know Her and Him, you know everything will be done just fine. Don't forget She has a big, brown cat to help Her. Toodle Pip.

Catnip Cats

What He had to do today was to go see one of His doctors. She is the one that gives Him medicine that keeps Him nice and calm. He likes the medicine He takes now, because it cleared up His tremors and made it easy for Him to write nicely. That makes it worth it for Him to lose His patience once in awhile, He says. She nods Her head, but She's not so sure.
When He came home from the doc, He brought something for all of us. For Her, He brought very pretty yellow flowers. She loves them. For us, He brought a catnip plant and some fresh grass.Kasey didn't care about the catnip as much as I did. I chewed on some, then rubbed it all over my face. I really got covered in catnip smell and wanted to go to sleep on Her lap. Kasey just ate the grass, then gacked up all the grass she ate. I told her she should have tried the catnip.
She is trying to nail down the lunch with LW'sMom on Friday. Smudge'sMom has finished the project and She is very anxious for LW'sMom to see it. After she sees it, I can tell you what it is, but not before, in case she reads my story.
She feels better today, because She got all the packages. There were more glasses for Her to read with. She is not so sure She likes them. I know I don't. They get in my way when I rub on Her face. I hear Her coming, so I'll sign off now. Nighty night.

Buy Stuff Cats

Well, I should have guessed that this would be a shopping day, the way She has been looking in the cupboards and shaking Her head. There are certain things we can't live without here, such as kibbles and other odds and ends. Yesterday She was cutting out the coupons from the paper, because I believe Her favorite thing is saving money. She made a list on the envelope where She put the coupons, and it looked kind of long. She started out for the store feeling kind of chipper, now that She can see better, and is driving again. When She came home, though, it was another story. There were lots of bags full of things to put away, but the paper where they put how much everything costs was very long. I heard Her tell Him that some of the normal things cost twice as much as they did before the drought. I said Drat the drought, but She didn't think it was funny.
He got a million packages today, and She was kind of grumpy because She is the one who usually gets the packages. He is very deep into the airplane project and She just sees model planes piling up. She has to put on a brave face, because it is His project and She wants to be cheerful for Him.
Also, She is very close to getting all the details worked out for the Crones' Lunch. She is almost sure it is settled, and will nag at everyone to sign up. It is at the place She is going with Smudge'sMom and LW'sMom on Friday. She loves that place. There is melted cheese on Their dinners, so I must go get a taste of that. g'night.

Rain and Shine Cats

The sun was shining when She woke up, but it soon got cloudy and began to rain. We were all glad we didn't have to go out today, so we made good use of de-cluttering and organizing jobs. I helped Her as much as I could, for example when She was sending Him a present about planes. It made Her glad to put my name on the card when She hit the send button.
Do you know what melancholy means? She told me She was feeling melancholy, but She doesn't look any different to me. It might have something to do with Her being a doofus about the Crones' lunch for this month. There are just too many things and too many busy people. At first only a few people get back to Her, and then She finds out new info, and has to change stuff. Do you know who is good at arranging things? Her OperaGirl, that's who. The trouble is, OG lives too far away to be able to help. And OG would have to be a Cronelet.
Well, I will keep you up-to-date on how all this planning works out. I know that planning for dinner is much easier, now that He started eating meat once in awhile. I saw Her get chicken out of the freezer today, and that suits me just fine.
I'm going to go look out the window at the rain, now. I like to see it from in here, where it is warm and dry. TaTa for now.

Business Cats

Today was about business. He went early this morning to a meeting about business, and when He came home, He said it was great - very helpful.
There was another part to the meeting which was supposed to be next week, but LW'sMom is having a ceremony to show that She is a real Minister, so He changed His meeting to another day, so He doesn't have to miss that party. He is so proud of LW'sMom, He couldn't bear to miss seeing her get her paper. Of course, She is proud and excited, too. We love LW's whole family.
She has one more package to get ready to send to Her beloved grandchildren and relatives who live far away. He thinks She should mail them right now, but She thinks they would get there too soon. Maybe when the present day comes, they will forget She sent stuff. He says what difference does it make? It's the thought that counts. She will probably go with that.
He was gone so much today that They need to celebrate. You know what that means: Pizza. Nom nom nom.

Disappearing Cat Stories

When I looked for my story from yesterday, it was not there. I am a little annoyed with the computer, because I wrote a long story about the day She had with Hana'sGran and about LW'sMom's finishing her studies, and it was about love and good times and pride and all those good things. I know Kasey didn't erase it, and it could not have been She, because I was with Her when I finished, helping Her get comfy.
Well, This is about today, and I hope it shows up on my story page. It was a good day to stay away from here. He expected the Fixing Guy, who didn't come, and then He had to holler at His computer. She is afraid His medicine does not work very well, and He loses His patience too often. Actually, it is kind of funny the way He talks to the computer, as if it can understand Him.
Also, She doesn't like Her new purse, so She decided to fix the old pockets that broke. She cut the belt part off another set to pockets so the clasp part would be there. Then She put safety pins to fix it the way She wants it. She took it to a place where they fix hard-to-sew things, and they said sure, they could sew it very tight for a lot of money. She - well, you know how She is - said it was too much and came back home. She will not give up, but She will not pay as much as the whole pockets cost to fix it. I am really glad Kasey and I don't use money.
I saw what came out of the freezer and my heart sang. I bet you know what it is. Yes. It's fish. Oddy-ose, amigos.

Jumping Cats

Remember about the new drinking machine He got for us? Well, I was just starting to get used to it when it made me jump. I had a bunch of drinks from it when the bottle started to let down new water. She tried not to laugh as I jumped away from it when it gurgled. But at least I tried. Kasey has only had about five laps from it, and He had to put the silver bowl back. He did put it next to the new bowl so we can get comfortable with it.
It was a day when She jumped, too. Whenever She remembers that it is the day for Her Crones, She jumps out of bed with enthusiasm. She sure does love Her Crones. They will meet this evening and She will get a peek at what Smudge'sMom is working on. I will tell you more about that later. For now it is a surprise.
Speaking of surprises, today She already got a present from Her PoetryGirl. She didn't know it was a present when She opened it, but there inside was some cinnamon honey. She loves that not just because of how it tastes, but because it is part of an Eddie-joke. Her Eddie talks a lot about bees and honey. She and Her Eddie girls always theme their gifts like that. It kind of binds them together, like their love for cats and d-o-gs.
Since it is Crones' night, She will not be fixing dinner, but that's OK, because She is so happy.

Proud Cats

We can be proud of how we were on the alert today, and did not let Her buy a single thing. When She looked like She was interested in a bargain, I would lie down on the letters and make the picture go away. Oh, sure - She got a little annoyed, but in the end, I won the don't-buy-anything wars. She got another pile of catalogs today, but It is too much trouble to go to the computer and get on and buy stuff. She had a rough moment there, when She got a catalog full of stuff LW'sMom would like, but I convinced Her to just give LW'sM the catalog. That's where She is right now - looking at catalogs. But then She will get busy and forget about buying stuff.
Meanwhile, He is busy getting airplane models for His airport project. The club that He goes to about the models is working on putting airplane models in the two airports. It is a good idea, and She is glad He is having fun about it. He is also working on getting a DVD made about what people mean when they talk about god. He thinks people should understand each other and what they think about. I try to keep out of it, because I believe in cats. She hopes everyone will like His idea.
I hear Her in the kitchen now so I will go and see what is on the dinner plans. I know it isn't fish, but it will be OK. TTYL

Money Diet Cats

You would not believe the messages She got today that said She could get a bargain if She bought stuff and put in a secret code. She was very tempted, but managed to stay strong, and avoid almost all of the deals. I am sure that if I hadn't come up here while She was looking, She would have bought more. The trouble is, She really needs to go on a money diet. She has spent too much money, even though She gets only small gifts for people. Just look at this, Cofs, She says. This would be perfect for Mazie, or LW, or LW'sSibs. This would make my OperaGirl laugh, She says, and then I really have to lie down on the keyboard, or there will not be enough money left for kibbles! That is silly, Cofs, She says, but I don't want to risk it. It worries Her that if people knew how good She is at finding bargains, they would think She or He doesn't love them as much. I have made it clear that She must return to Her careful ways with money or I will have to pee on these letters, so She can't type any more. Kasey says she will volunteer to do that. All I have to do is say the word.
Well, I think the message got across, since She has left the computer bargains behind and went to watch a story about a mean lady who fixes people's beauty shops. That is safe, because She doesn't have any beauty shops to fix.
I think we will have the rest of the Thanksgiving turkey tonight. That is fine with me. Toodles.

Do-Nothing Cats

Every so often there is a day when we don't do anything. Oh, of course we read the paper, and share fingers-full of butter. And He and She check their messages and share musings with their friends and grandkids, but there is no work kinds of things. They just stayed in and chuckled about not having to go out in the cold.  It is pretty cold, for around here, at least, and She put on a jacket over her dress, but the cold weather is the most exciting thing going on today around here. She just listens to Her Italian Boys, and Her MusicGuy's records. She loves days like this.  I don't mind once in awhile, but I can write a better story when  something is going on. I am kind of tired of talking about Her eyes, for example. The excitement is almost over. She can get those little glasses for reading, and for our computer, and She won't need expensive glasses like She used to wear. Ho Hum. I guess this is what happens to people who have their shopping all done for presents.  Now we have to just sit and wait. It is a lucky thing that there are Crones to see, and LW'sMom to get finished with her school, or I would have absolutely nothing to say. Well, chow for now, bellas. And a shout out to my new cousin, Scruffy.

Widget Cats

She has this thing called a widget, and it shows a big black d-o-g who walks around all over Her computer. This guy digs a hole to bury a bone. He goes and gets his dish and begs for food. He brings Her a pair of slippers. He takes a nap. Of course She thinks this is so very cute. Well, Kasey and I think it is not al all necessary. We are much cuter than this d-o-g, and we take much nicer naps. What She tells us is don't be jealous. This is just a picture of a cute d-o-g, not a real one. You kitties have nothing to be jealous about. Jealous is a wasted feeling. Just because We think someone else is cute, it doesn't mean we care any less about you. I hope cats can understand that better than people. Kasey and I talked about that and decided She has a good point.
They are in a snit today because they got a bunch of wrong mail. They believe that means someone else is getting OUR mail, and that can cause us trouble. He called the mail people to complain about it, and they said they have filed a complaint. Oh, great. That will help us get the water bill on time! (NOT). He put the other people's mail back in the mailbox and crossed His fingers.
There is still food left over from dinner at Cleo'sHouse. All of us are thankful about THAT! Cheerio to you and the big d-o-g.

Black Friday Cats

When They came home from Cleo'sHouse, He and She were like a pair of sausages. They were stuffed and groaning. They sat down to watch TV, and in a few minutes He was asleep. He woke up to decide to put on a Netflix, and went back to sleep again. She says turkey is made out of stuff that makes you sleepy. I will have a chance to find out tonight, when She fixes leftovers.
This day is called black Friday, because it is supposed to make a lot of money for the stores. He and She usually plan to stay home on this kind of day, because of all the crowds. Today, though, She had to go to get another eye check-up. The doc says everything looks just fine and that She only has to go back one more time. On the way home They stopped to get something to eat and brought it home. After lunch, He went right back to bed. I guess turkey makes you sleepy for a lot of days.
He is going to watch the stories He slept through when He wakes up.
He got a pie for yesterday's dinner that was special because it didn't have sugar. Cleo'sMom wanted apple, and so did He. That's what He ordered. That's what was written on the package. The pie was beautiful. When C'sM cut it, it was cherries inside. After everyone laughed, He said He would tell the people that sold Him the pie, and maybe get His money back.
We shall see how that goes. For now, though, I have to chase my sister Kasey. Later.

Grateful Cats

We spent some time getting ready for tomorrow, which is a day when people talk about what they are thankful for, and then eat great big dinners. Kasey and I intend to do that as well, but we will do it here at home. They are going to Cleo'sFamily's house, which is full of people who are good cooks. He and She are bringing some things to add, but She didn't cook them. I have a special skill, She told me. I can order stuff on the computer, and I don't even have to put on an apron. That is funny, but it makes Him kind of sad. She used to be the best cook anyone knew, because Her Grandma was a cook, and taught Her. Now, She hardly cooks at all, but I like what She fixes. He says He does, too, but He puts ketchup on everything, so She says how can He tell?
He went to get His foot looked at, and the doc says it is coming along fine. He has to get some special shoes to wear, and He doesn't like them. If it saves His toes, and lets Him walk, how bad can it be?
One of Her friends rescued a little kitty that someone tossed off a second-story window. Her friend nursed to kitty back to health, and now she is a happy little kitten with a loving family. How could someone throw a cat out of a window? We are thankful for people who rescue little kitties. We have a lot to be grateful about.

Cats on Duty

There was no Thinking People group today, but They made good use of the time and worked on getting presents sorted out and ready to go into the mail. You would think that getting things all together would make Her room look neater, but it doesn't. It is just different kinds of piles of things, so Kasey and I have to continue cheering Them up. He and She are glad that they at least have the shopping done. I want Her to stop looking at catalogs, because She must not second-guess her choices for all the bags of loot, er, I mean gifts.
Every year He and She send Texas ice cream to Her brother, who is Abby'sDad. She got a nice message that it got there today, and Abby'sDad was home to get it before it melts. She sent a bunch of different kinds. Every year it costs more money, though, and this may be the end of the ice cream delivery. She will have a whole year to think about that.
This is starting to get me jumpy. She has fixed Her computer so that there is a big black dog living there. He mostly sleeps, but he does a bunch of other stuff as well, and He makes me jump when I am writing my story. I don't know how to get rid of him, but I will encourage Her to do that next time She comes in here. For now, though, I have to go give Her snuggles. A cat's work is never done. bye.

Dancing Cats

Kasey and I are very happy cats because of the news She told us. One of our favorite friends is Hana'sGran, and one of the best things that anyone can be is a Grandmother. You can see why the news that Hana'sGran is going to be a Grandma again has us all dancing with happy feet! This is the third grandbaby for H'sG, and the baby will be born right when They are going on Their boat ride. Since Hana lives halfway around the world from us, She is glad Hana'sGran has those special socks that help you be comfy on the airplane. Hana and her big brother will be so glad that their Gran will be there to help when the new baby comes. They love their Gran. It makes Her so chuffed that She has tingles! Now, if only Hana's family will move back here to our world..............
It is still nice to be able to see, so that She will see the boat ride places and the new baby with clear eyes. What She says is that you don't need angels to have miracles.
On top of all that happy stuff, it is getting close to when LW'sMom gets her paper that says she is through with school and can stop writing long papers about churchy stuff. It is only a few more days, now. She thinks it is 17. Her heart is so full of happiness that She needs some of that chocolate-spicy stuff that She puts in Her coffee. I hear Her making that right now. I must go and give Her an extra snuggle. Chow, bellas.

Sad News Cats

There is a lot of news going around about the people who are trying to make the country see about a problem. There are a lot of rich guys who should be helping the poor people get a little more and the most of people stay comfortable. The police are trying to make them go home and stop taking up space in all the parks and things. Now the police have sprayed some guys with a stinging spray, and all the guys were doing is just sitting there. They are not being rowdy, like when She was younger and the kids were against the war. These kids are against having all the money belong to just a few people. When the topic is money, She is paying attention, and She doesn't see anything wrong with kids just sitting there. So when the police sprayed them, She was very sad.
It did cheer Her up when some friends came over to buy His tent. These are people who live quite near, and they like to go where you sleep in tents. She says She would rather stay up all night than sleep in a tent. She is sort of like Kasey and me that way. So these nice people have the tent, and She can sleep where She is nice and comfy.
He has gone to a meeting about model airplanes, and She is finally working some puzzles. At last She has glasses that let Her see more closely. In another few weeks She will be all fixed up with Her seeing. That will be a happy time. So long for now.

Modern Cats

You know about us and how we drink water out of a silver bowl on the table. Well, a new, modern invention has taken over and now there is a big, fancy machine where the silver bowl used to be. He saw a picture in a magazine, about a kind of machine for filling a water bowl automatically. It looks like a great big jar upside down over a bowl, and water comes out of it when the water gets used up by adorable cats. (ahem). The only problem is, we don't like it, and haven't had a drink out of it yet. Oh, sure, I have another bowl of water by my kibbles, so I won't dry all up, but I wonder why He has to change something that already works.
She has been glad to have those temporary glasses that make Her see Her catalogs and Her computer. I am especially glad to see Her smiling a lot. She thinks She will have to get a bunch of those glasses so there are some wherever She is, because She knows She won't be able to keep up with all the places She might just need to see something. Do you know what HD is? She says the whole world looks like it's in HD. I guess that means everything is sharp and clear.
Can you believe it is almost time to send packages to Their friends for Christmas? She has a bunch ready to go, and He brought home some new labels for telling where to send them. I wonder if She has something for Kasey and me. Well, I'll soon find out - in just about a few more weeks. As for right now, I am ready for some terrific fish for our dinner. g'day, mates.

The Cats are Back

Yes, here we are again, dear readers, because She has finally turned the computer back on. Here's what happened. Yesterday, She went to get Her second eye fixed, and She was kind of bummed. She knew this would take a long time, and She was anxious to see. She could not have any co9ffee-the-drink, and nothing to eat before the operation. You know She loves those things. Well, yada yada yada, and everything was fine. He and She finally got to have something to eat and drink, and She brought half of it home. It was in a white box, and smelled like bacon, but I will know after awhile, because it is going to be our dinner.
Today, the doc took the bandage off and everything was OK. Whew. She could see with both eyes just the same, and all She needed was an extra little set of glasses so She could see up close. Now, when She gets back to the doc, She will get the real numbers for glasses to see near and a little bit far. The new ones will work until then.
Kasey and I are so very glad things are going to get back to normal around here, and more attention will be paid to cats. For instance, He got a package today that had a bowl and jar for making sure your furry friends (ahem) have plenty of water. Kasey and I love our water. And our kibbles. That reminds me, I'd kind of like some of those right now. TTYL.

Fuzzy Cats

The thing that is fuzzy is Her eyes. She has that operation tomorrow, and She had to put the drops in again. Now She puts drops in both eyes. The drops turn Her bad eye fuzzy. Her good eye can't see up close at all, so typing and reading have to be left to cats who take care of Her. I am warning you now, She probably won't even turn Her computer on tomorrow, because Her operated eye will be covered, just like the other one was last time. If you don't hear from me, it will be because I can't turn on the computer by myself. Someday I will have to learn how to do that.
There was rumbling noise and rain today, but I didn't go into the closet. I was too busy cheering Her up. She is anxious for the doc to fix Her eyes, but a little bothered. For example, She can't eat anything after Daily Show tonight, and Her operation is not til after lunchtime. No coffee-the-drink, either. I am guessing that Coffee-the-Cat will have my work cut out for me. Very high on Her to-do list is going to be get new glasses so She can read and compute. The doc told Her She would get a paper about what kind to buy.
How lucky we are that in a few weeks the eye business will all be over and the world will look bright to Her again. I need to go help Her with dinner, since things are looking fuzzy to Her. I think I sniffle chicken. Cheery-bye.

Out of Touch Cats

Oh, my - He started the day very angry and upset. You see, the phones didn't work. The computers didn't work. The TV didn't work. The company that sends the connection to us had a big problem - and it was even bigger when He finally got in touch. Luckily, He got His new cell phone to work, and found out the system was down. I'm glad I wasn't the cat who had to calm Him down. I think He scared the company, because they told Him they would give Him six months of a special channel. He was still kind of mad when He went to the first dentist. They told Him what to do about His sore tongue. Then He went to the regular dentist, and they told Him the first guy wasn't right. Do you see how this is piling up? I have never seen Him so mad. She told Him that His calm down medicine wasn't working. There were two big bills in the mail, but She said She would take care of it, and we began to count our blessings. By the middle of the afternoon, the phone, computers and TV were fixed. Then the good news started. The bill for His mother got cancelled, The bill for Her co-pay got cancelled, A guy wants to help with His airplane project, and She got a check for $20.00. All is good again and we are not living in the olden days, like we were this morning. I am knackered by all the hubbub, and need a really peaceful nap. Nighty night.

Quiet Cats

One thing Kasey and I really like is quiet. We don't mind the TV or listening to Her Italian boys, but weather noises and surprise noises bother both of us. If you know Her, you will not believe that She is quieter than He is. Just when I get comfy, He will sneeze or cough or bang something, and I have to get very alert. I don't what She would do without me warning Her of some noisy event. Don't let Kasey tell you that loud noise doesn't bother her. She is small, and not as easy to see, but I have seen her jump when there was something noisy. Oh, I love Him anyway. She says one day I will get over being bothered by noise. I hope She is right.
Do you remember my d-o-g cousin DeeDee? Well her Mom came over today to help Them with clearing out. DeeDee'sMom is one of Their favorites. I know that They love the whole family There is a darling girl who is the same age as Mazie and LW's biggest sister. There is a bigger sister who lives where She used to live. That girl is smart and funny and takes great pictures. The other is a brother who goes to school at a place kind of far and kind of close. That guy knows a lot of famous people and works at music-playing. She keeps track of all of them.
I have no idea what She expects to fix for dinner, but I hope He eats left-over spaghetti - and is willing to share. I have had a busy day. I think I'll have a little nap before dinner. Ah-dyoo.

Angel Hair Cats

Angel Hair is a kind of spaghetti, but it is also what you could call my hair. You see, every day I get a nice brushing. I jump up when She is on the computer and She stops and brushes me. The brush has very stiff bristles, which I like to use to comb my face. I rub both sides of my face and my chin on it while She holds it steady. That is the part I do myself. Then She brushes my back and sides, and sometimes my belly, when I feel like holding still for that.
It may be in my honor that She is fixing angel hair spaghetti for our dinner. She won't do that for awhile, because it is still kind of early on the changed clocks. He and She look at the clocks to see what time it is, and I depend on the clock inside my head, which says it is an hour later. Oh, never mind. I have to wait for Her, whatever time it is.
She is not so nervous about the next operation on Her other eye, because She knows what to expect All She has to do then is wait for Her two eyes to match up, and get Her new glasses so She can see the computer. I am happy to report that Kasey and I have excellent eyes. Kasey's are green and mine are amber. That's the same color as a tiger has. Grrr. Are you scared? I didn't think so.

Autograph Cats

There weren't any appointments today, so She thought we would all just kind of be cozy in the cold weather. Everything was going smoothly for Her. On the other paw, He was all business. There were a lot of phone calls - then He went to get license plates for His new car. Next, He decided They should go and get all those papers signed that tell what to do if they get sick and die. Here's what I told Her. Get them signed and forget about getting sick and dying. She agreed with that. Off They went. They found out they needed two people to say they really signed the papers.He got two nice ladies to help with that. When everything got under way, They found out the papers needed two signers for more pages. They found two more people to watch them sign those, then fill out more papers. It took forever. I thought They were never coming back home. Well, the papers are signed. Now They need to make copies and hide those papers. They both wrote Their names so many times, She said She knows how a movie star feels.
It is good that the signing is all done, and that everyone was very nice and didn't take any money when They offered to pay them, but it made Her so knackered that She decided not to fix fish tonight. Drat. Well, She will be ready for some good snuggles, I am sure. Nighty-night.

Doctor Cats

Of course, I have been taking care of her ever since I came here, but today She went to see another doc - the one that fixed Her eye. She got all the info for the one next week. The doc is going to fix the other eye. That should stop all her bumbling around. If She closes Her good eye, everything looks grey and kind of dingy. When She closes that eye and opens the good one, everything looks bright and clean. She says WOW a lot these days. He has to drive Her to all these places, and the times are good, except for the one that's the day after the operation. That day They have to be there so early that She says They should go and sleep in the car park. That would make me very upset.
Between that and Her sore knee, She is pretty pathetic. She had to put some cream on it that makes it very cold. She says it helps, but She still hobbles. Well, here is the good news about that: She is fixing pizza for our dinner - because it's easy.

Cats and Crones

Today was the day that Crones have their lunch and She was so excited that Cleo'sMom could drive Her to the lunch place. She didn't want to miss this favorite thing, but you know She can't drive with two different eyes. It was wonderful to see Cleo'sMom and Sabra'sMom and Smudge'sMom. They had travels and adventures to talk over and Smudge'sMom showed them a project she is working on. These ladies are so helpful to Her that She is just overwhelmed with love for them. That is besides the gazillion choices of things to eat.
There was a close call this morning, though. Somehow, She twisted Her knee, and it really hurt. She started to fall down, but She was close enough to a chair so She fell into that. Whew. It scared me. I was under the me-table and saw the whole thing. She has been so not-falling lately that it put Her in a fix. She took some medicine, and pretty soon She was cheered up for Crones.
When She goes to Crones, She doesn't usually fix a very big dinner. This is a good night for some easy dinner out of the freezer. She was sad the other day, because She used to be a good cook, almost as good as LW'sMom, and now Her main skills are turning on the stove or microwave. I think the best thing She fixes is fish. She sees the doc tomorrow, so I can tell you what is happening after that. chow for now.

Actual Rain Cats

It was a nice day until I satarted hearing rumbling noise. She says we need the rain, but does it have to make so much noise whie it is at it? I was almost ready to jump up and have a snuggle when the noise came, and we all knw what that means: I have to go and check out the closet. It is dark and quiet in there, and I can make sure nothing happens to all His and Her clothes. She was glad to see actual rain, and the noise doesn't seem to bother Her, because we are all desperate for actual rain. It seemed to rain very hard, so He couldn't go get the mail until it stopped. The TV will tell us this evening if it helped our dry situation.
He is going to a meeting tonight about the people who build model planes and things. He was very good at it, and has an idea He wants to give them. It is about model planes at the big airport. She says it is a good idea, and She hopes the model builders like it.
He went to the store this morning, before the rain, and brought home a lot of noodles. She just shakes Her head and tries to distract Him with fish and chicken and vegetables. Now that He is eating meat again - if only a little - She thought it would be easy to keep Him on track so He stays healthy, but He is a grown-up, so there's just so much She can do. Visitor Cats

The visitors were Her nephew from far away by the ocean and his friend from right here where we live. She is chuffed to know that if the young man comes to visit his lovely friend, he will stop by to visit Him and Her. When this guy was here last time, he didn't come to our house. This time, because of Her eye and short notice, they came here and had some root beer. She loves root beer, so it is a good feeling to share it. They weren't here very long, but She was so glad to see them and give them hugs.
It was a surprise to Him and Her that Kasey and I didn't go and hide from the visitors. Kasey actually sniffled them and accepted a pet. I checked them out and went back to sleep. After all, She says they are family.
He spent a lot of time on the phone today, and found out that there will be some money from His mother's insurance. He said they can put that toward Their boat ride. He is very excited about that boat ride and is planning every bit of it Himself. She is just as glad, since He can have exactly what He wants, and that is what He deserves. No one mentions Their poor cats. Oh, well.
She is also smiling about the news that LW had a good visit with her doc. The doc says not to worry, but he will watch to see that nothing is wrong with LW. We are all focusing love on her and we know the little sweetie will be just fine.
She is fixing some meat and noodles for Their dinner. She didn't think He was supposed to eat noodles, but that is what He asked for. What She will be fixing is tempting for cats as well. I will go and make sure that She has enough for all of us. Toodles.

Soft Paw Cats

Kasey and I have been thinking of ways to keep Her cheered up so She doesn't get mad at not being able to see right. Lately, we have found that attacking Her toes as if they were separate creatures makes us all laugh. Since we do not have claws on our front paws, there is no danger of Her getting a scratch. That would not be so much fun. Another thing Kasey has been doing is coming for butter when She gives it to me. Kasey would never take it off Her finger like I do, but she sniffles it and She puts some on a plastic lid and drops it for Kasey to lick. When She is cheered up by stuff like that, She forgets that She has to work so hard to see things up close. TV is easier, because She can concentrate on Her good eye.
She still listens to Her Italian boys, because She can close Her eyes to do that. There are pictures of them all over the computer, because they sang their songs in some cities here in this country, and lots of people got pictures with them. She enjoys that.
He was going to a place to look at airplanes today, but decided to stay home and do some work on His project of fixing everything that He has let go for awhile. She told me She was so happy to have him back. I think I know what that means.
They changed the clocks last night, and now it feels closer to dinner than the clock says. I will never understand humans. Cheers.

Guide Cats

I think She wants to pretend that She can see just fine. Luckily for Her, I am here to see that She gets where She is going and doesn't fall down. You know She is good at that. Mostly, I get Her to Her chair and get on Her tummy. That way, She can't go anyplace. When I have to get up to check some loud noise or something, She gets up and gets on this computer. We all know that bothers Her seeing, and gives Her a headache. He helps me by sitting there and talking to Her, and getting Her interested in His projects. She says She had almost forgotten how He used to be interested in things.
One thing that She is doing is checking Her money accounts. She wants to quit using Her bank, because they are wankers - I'm just telling you what She said. She is having a problem with Her automatic stuff. She doesn't want to lose that money, for goodness sake! but how will they know where to send it if She changes banks.l I don't know, but She will figure it out.
She is going to fix meat for supper. Here;s why. He took some meat out of the freezer, and instead of putting the rest of it back, he put it in the regular refrigerator and She has to use it before it spoils. Do you know what's funny? Sometimes She calls the refrigerator an icebox. I have to laugh at that. Bye for now.

Escaped Cats

Here's what happened: His new car is small enough to fit in the garage now, but first He had to clear away some stuff that He put there when His other cars couldn't fit. This explains why He was out in the garage with the doors open. My sister, Kasey, was in the house, and saw the door to the laundry room was open. When she went out to look around, she saw the door to the garage was open. Once she was in the garage, she saw the door to the outside was open, and - well - you can guess the rest. After one day of being locked in a closet, Kasey found herself free. He spotted her rolling around on the driveway, like our cousin Katy does. Here's the part that astonishes me - when He called her, she just came back in. I was surprised. Were you surprised?
She is trying to do things with two different-seeing eyes. It is hardest on the computer, when She has to keep the good eye closed. She looks through the middle of Her glasses with the bad eye, and can barely see. She is so curious, though, about all Her friends that She has to try. At least for awhile.
He made Their plane reservations for their trip on the boat.He is so very happy about that trip that I can't make Him see how worried Kasey and I are. She says Mazie's biggest brother will come and stay with us. That is some relief. We like him and he likes us. so all will be as well as we can expect. I'll try not to think about it until closer to the time. Lalala tra la. Oddy-ose.

She Can See

Yesterday He and She went to the doc and got one of Her eyes fixed. You know about that. Well it all went well, except that He got mad because they didn't call Him to sit with Her, like they said they would, and He was afraid something was wrong. When He saw Her, She had a big patch over Her eye and was kind of sleepy. When They got home, They wet to report that everything was fine and both of Their computers were broken. He was already mad from earlier, and now He had trouble with the computer people. Even Kasey was scared, so she went into the closet in His office and He didn't see her and closed the door. We all went looking for Kasey and finally He found her. Of course, I can't write my story on a broken computer, so here are two days in one.
Today She got up very early and went to the doc to get the big bandage off. She was afraid to open Her eye, but they told Her She had to, and She was amazed. She could see everything without any glasses at all. She was so chuffed. But that was just one eye. Now She has to wait to get the other one to match. Having two different kinds of eyes makes Her a little dizzy, but She says it's worth it. I gave Her a dozen snuggles to tell Her how happy I am about it. I'll report more tomorrow, if the computer is still not broken. Chow.

Eyedrop Cats

The important thing today is Her eyedrops. She has very important directions for putting drops in four times today. She has already done two, and Her operation eye has a big black middle, while the other eye's middle is very small. She seems to be wondering if this is a practice for the time between eye-fixings, when the two sides are different. She is not going crazy with it, but I can tell She notices things differently. She keeps closing one eye while She looks at things.
Of all days, She got nineteen catalogs in the mail today. I wonder why She gives money to people who want to save trees and then gets nineteen catalogs on one day. She tried to look at some of them, but between Her different eyes and Her already good supply of presents, these catalogs are not a good use of trees. At least that's what He and She said.
The TV showed a big bunch of snow where Her OperaGirl lives. Also where Her cousin lives, as well. She really does not like snow. Do you remember how hot it was here where we live? It just got cool a few days ago. When She saw all those pictures of snow, She said She was sorry She whined about the weather. At least it wasn't snow.
He and She have been very lonesome for LW'sMom and Smudge'sMom. LW's Mom is almost through with her school. Forty days and forty nights, She told me. As far as He and She are concerned, LW'sMom is already good at her job. I guess you have to have a paper to make the job official, like She had to have for Her job long ago. I'll keep you posted.

Project Cats

I guess She is remembering how He used to be when His life was full of projects. Today He brought everything down from Their attic and is now sorting it out. Of course the house is full of stuff and it is hard to move around. She says it reminds Her of the olden days. There is too much stuff everywhere and He is getting kind of stressed. Still, She says, it is better than when He was like a zombie. Since Zombies are kind of famous right now, I'm not sure why She is glad, but He is more like a busy bee than a zombie.
She just stays out of the way. She has been drinking delicious coffee, with the stuff in it that Hana'sGran brought. It makes the coffee taste like chocolate and cinnamon. I have spent four dollars for coffee that tastes like that, and now I can have it whenever I want, She says. H'sG also brought some good kind of cookies. She is being careful to eat one every day instead of all at once.
They have warned Kasey and me that there will be some scary creatures at the door tonight, and maybe we had better go hide out She has a big bowl of candy to give them when they say trick or treat. I wonder what the scary guys would do if She didn't give them candy. She says She is not interested in finding that out. Things should go more smoothly tomorrow, when She has to put the drops in Her eyes. However much He gets done, He has to take Her for the eye thing after tomorrow. It will be a busy night, full of scary things, so I'm going to scamper for now. Happy Scary Day.

Sunday Brunch Cats

Awhile ago, She used to go on a brunch-crawl with Mabel'sMom, and today She went on one with Him. They went to a place where they had a paper for part of the money off, and had a nice time. She said it was a feast fit for a king, or a guy who got a new car She can ride in. Can you guess whether She brought some home? If you could hear me purring, you could guess. Since it is a day with perfect weather, She actually did a bit of walking and didn't fall down once!He wants Her to be used to walking by the time they go on that boat ride. He says He wants to go on more brunch-crawls with her when She gets more of those papers.
Since Her heart was already happy, She was even happier still when Her beloved Hana'sGran decided to come over for awhile. H'G has been on Her mind every day, because she had a lot of germs and felt sick. Now she is better, and Can enjoy the catalog with good ideas for Hana and her brother. What a joy these people are to Her and me. Kasey doesn't care.
Another catalog had a book She had to send to one of Her friends. This person has a very clever little girl who is always saying cute things. One of Her catalogs had a book where you could write down these things to remember all your life. That's what happens with these catalogs. She sees just the right thing and has to get it. That's what She does with the money She saves being fussy about it. She even got something for Kasey and me, but it didn't come yet, so I will be surprised. Kasey won't care. Toodles.

Cool Cats

When we woke up this morning, it was really cold. It also Made Him kind of cold when He went out without His shirt to feed the birds and bring in the paper. She gets tired of Him not wearing a shirt, but He says He's hot-blooded. She says sheesh, whatever that means, and She hopes the Homeowners' Association doesn't tell Him He's bringing down property values. It is good to hear them joke with each other like that. You see, She doesn't care what He wears, and He doesn't mind putting on a shirt if She nags at Him.
He didn't sign up for anything new today, and She just went to the store. She didn't really feel like going, but She said if She waits until Monday, all the good stuff will be gone. I asked Her how that could happen, but She said Maybe it just feels that way because most of the shopping is on Saturdays. I'm glad Kasey and I don't have to go out to the store. She used to like to go, but now She hardly goes anywhere, and shopping is a big deal. She has everything we need for a long time. It saves Her trip to the store, and it saves money, She says. If you go shopping when you're hungry you always buy more. Anyway, we have plenty of good stuff to share with cats. (ahem).
I'm going to go get some snuggles right now. They are good at any time, but especially when it's cool. Cheers.

Hmmmmph Cats

Without giving a thought to Their adorable cats, He and She made some plans to take a trip very far away, so far that They have to take a boat. And They will be gone for a lot of days. No, They did not invite us to go along, and I don't mind telling you I am hurt and dismayed. I don't know what we are going to do by ourselves all those days! I am telling you, if They don't get someone in here to take care of us, I may just move to Smudges house! In fact, if one of Mazie's brothers doesn't stay here with us.......well. I will plan something evil. Oh, andf in case you're interested, Kasey says that as long as she gets her food and water, she doesn't care where They go.
She iis so particular about money that I asked Her if this kind of boat ride was a wise use of Their savings. She told me He had dreamed about a trip like this absolutely all His life, and He took such good care of His mother that He deserves a dream-come-true. She said it would be polite for Kasey and me to be nice about it. Easy for Her to say. She isn't getting left behind. Relax, Cofs, She says to me. It won't happen for a lot of months - Way after Christmas. We have time to get used to it. Well, at least that's something. Don't worry. I'll keep you all informed as the days go by. For now, though, I'm going to see what She is fixing for our dinner. (sigh) Bye.

Honda Cats

Honda is the kind of car He likes, and today He got His best one. When He had to buy a car for His mother, He got a great big car with every kind of thing on it. Bells and whistles is what She called it, but I did not hear anything. When His mother couldn't go out anymore, He got a smaller car, which I thought was not very pretty. It looked like a box. Here is the worst thing about that car: She had lots of trouble getting into it, because it was very tall. Luckily, Hana'sGran gave Her a step to use, and that was better, but She really did not like that car. Since He likes Her to feel happy, He went and found another car He could trade for the box car. She and I love this newest one. It is the color of cranberry juice, and it will fit into the garage. Those other big cars had to stay outside. Now, a year later, He finally has the right car. We are all chuffed, except for Kasey. Kasey doesn't care.
So He wanted to go out for dinner and celebrate, but She can't go tonight, since it is Crones night. Maybe tomorrow. And if They go, They will bring something home for Their beloved cats (ahem). At least She will.
In one more week She will be getting one of Her eyes fixed, and She can't wait. Next week I will be a pirate, Cofs, She told me. I think it was a joke,

Thinking Day Cats

Today was the day They went to visit their Thinking People. Thinking day is one of Their favorite days. She doesn't even mind getting up early on thinking days. Sabra'sDad was in charge today. That is one of Their favorite people. The Big Question to think about was willpower. He and She have lots of willpower. More than you would guess. She loves Her cookies and sweets, which wears out a person's will power, but She is good about loving Her cats and Her other friends. He has more willpower than She has, because He was successful at giving up some really bad habits. He eats more vegetables than She does, but She is better at taking care of money. She was glad to see the other Thinking People, as well.
When They came home, She worked hard on fixing those special papers for Him. He liked the way She did Her papers last week, so She did some for Him, as well. Now if they get sick and die, everyone will get things all cleared up just fine. Do you know there was even a part in there about making sure Their precious cats are taken care of? Kasey is pleased, but I don't know what I would do without Her, especially, although He fills up the food bowls. I don't want to talk about this any more, so I will go and see what She is doing about our dinner. I will still give Her snuggles, although there is a suspicious smell of d-o-g on Her. Sabra'sDad mus be dog-sitting again. Poor Sabra. Her cousin, Chula, is an energy ball. BBFN (bye bye for now)

Don't Bite Cats

It is not easy to admit that I am the one that bites. Granted, I don't bite very hard, but I think it hurts Her feelings when I take a little love nip. She doesn't understand that it is like a little smooch, not a bite. But He is the one having trouble about biting . He had to go to a different dentist, because his mouth is sore. It turned out that He needs to take medicine for his poor mouth. I guess the dentist didn't get all the germs out. He will be fixed up pretty soon, though. Of course, He doesn't bite anything but His food, so I'm still the guilty biter. Kasey, as grumpy as she is, doesn't ever bite things she is not supposed to.
There was some good mail today. She got a letter from Her brother, who is Abbey'sDad. It had a story about his oldest son - not the one that was here, but the other one. He told about how the bank trouble spoiled a project for him. It was sad, but he learned a lot - the hard way. Another letter was from a dear girl who had moved away. Not Mazie, but Mazie's next sister. She was chuffed to read the nice letter.
It won't be long before Her beloved Smudge'sMom goes on a plane to visit family. We will miss her, but we're glad She is feeling so well that she can travel around in planes.
The Italian Boys were singing while She worked today,. She never gets tired of hearing them, Some day She may go to see them. But not today. I'll say Oddy-ose for today.

One Snuggly Cat

For some reason, I was really interested in getting snuggles. Every time She sat down, I would get up there and get a few more snuggles. She thought I wanted something. so She checked my water - full dish. She checked my food - full dish. She checked the litterbox - nice and clean. What is it you want, Cofs? She said to me. I guess She's kind of dim today. Anyone could tell what I wanted. Snuggles. When Kasey wnats something, she just meows. One thing Kasey never wants. Snuggles. If She tried to snuggle Kasey, She would get a biff for Her trouble.
Things are nice and quiet around here today.He and She are getting some decluttering done, as usual, and He mowed the grass. He reported that a new cat has come to have a little nibble of treats. This is a black and white cat. I have seen him from the window. That is one hungry cat. Katy-next-door had better learn to eat faster, or the new guy will eat up all the kibbles.
She is excited that this will be a busy week. She is getting a lot of things done before Her eye operation. After that, She won't be able to drive for a long time. I am glad She will be fine, and especially glad that She will mostly be able to stay at home with Her beloved cats. You can never tell when I will have a need for some more snuggles. I'll check with you tomorrow. Bye.

Clean Cats

There was some excitement here today, and it started early. Remember, He is on a mission to do all the things He has been too tired or stressed to do. He worked hard on the back yard and with help of the fixing guy, He has it looking almost right. It has bothered Him for awhile that the kitchen had some spots and splatters, and He and She had been giving it what He calls a lick and a promise. I have never seen them do that, but that's what He says. Well, today some people came and fixed it all up so it's nice and clean. Especially places where She can't reach. She is chuffed. She said it took 30 years to get this way, now we have another 30 to get it dirty again. He didn't think that was too funny.
She went on the computer and found a place where they work for just a little money and they make papers that tell what you want when you are sick, or when you die. They have had these papers before, which cost them a huge lot of money. You know how She is. Don't spend too much money, even if it's something you really must have. It made me kind of sad to see Her planning for those bad times, but She said this is the time to do it. When you feel good and know it will be better for your thoughts if it is done. I'll tell you this: Kasey and I are not getting papers like that. She says She is celebrating with pizza. That's a cheerful thing to do. Chow, Bambini.

Back Window Cats

Some of the fun that Kasey and I have is looking out the windows. Today we were interested in the window that shows the back yard. The fixing guy came again and finished taking down the last extra building, and now our back yard looks nice, with one single building for extra things. Now, when He paints that, our back yard will look just fine. He is really getting into this fixing business. He has the fixing man coming back to make the kitchen look nice and new, and They will have company again. She started to think those days were over. Of course, with Kasey and I doing the watching, everything will be nifty.
The mail guy brought a really big bill for His mother and He was feeling very worried, but the place where His mother used to stay got it all arranged for Him, and He is feeling much better about it. The old woman has been dead for two weeks and every time we think everything is all fixed, another bill comes. I think it is all fine now, though. I'll keep you posted.
She sent Mazie some soap in the shape of skulls and Mazie really liked them. It makes Her tickled pink when people get stuff from Them. DeeDee'sMom and Her beloved OperaGirl better keep watching the mail. (snerk). But now the important thing is having fish for our dinner. It is not the pink kind, but a white kind covered in crumbs. I don't mind crumbs. Friends, I am a happy cat. Sy-o-nara,

Ready Cats

You never know what things are going to happen, so you need to be ready for just about anything. Kasey and I are ready to get to the right places at the right time.When it is time to go to the cat doc, we are ready but not willing. She is getting ready to get Her eyes fixed so She can see better and even read books again. She got the OK for the operation, and today She went to see the eye lady. They measured Her eyes so the doc can put the right replacement for the piece she takes away. She came home with a cute little kit with medicine and stuff in it. The doc gave Her a list with exact details of what She has to do the day before the operation. So as of this minute, She is ready. And not scared.
While She was riding in the car, She heard some news about places that were running out of money, so they have to fire a bunch of teachers. This makes Her want to cry, even with Her cloudy eyes. How are people supposed to learn, She wonders, with good teachers being fired? Even if She could teach now, They would not pick Her. She is too old and old-fashioned. She has a love for teaching and for children and can tell you everything they are doing wrong. I feel sorry for schools if She decides to scold them. I must go and give Her some snuggles now, so She will forget about teachers and be cheered by Her nice eye lady. Poodle Tip. (Get it?)

Heart Happy Cats

Everyone has a heart, and it is a good idea to keep it healthy. Kasey and I have healthy hearts according to the cat docs. Today She went to Her doc to be sure Her heart was healthy enough for Her eye operation in two weeks. They put sticky stuff on Her and wires, and they checked the machine and said Her heart was OK for an old person. They poked Her all over and took a bunch of Her blo9od. Then they took a magic picture that shows Her insides. After all that, they said She was OK for the operation. She was chuffed. She was also hungry, because She wasn't allowed to eat or have coffee-the-drink before She went. After She got the good news, She had a big gushy hamburger and 2 of Her Eddie-cups full of coffee. Tomorrow She has to go tell the eye doc the good news, but She can eat before She goes there. After that, She just has to wait. Next thing you know, She will be able to see much better.
She still talks about the fun She had at lunch yesterday. She is so very glad to have such nice friends - and friends whose sons have good places to eat. She is worried about Smudge'sMom, who had too many troubles to go for lunch. In spite of everything that is good, She still feels sad about the teachers and schools. How can they have money for a war and not for children, She says. I don't know either. Do you? More later. Ah-dyoo mes amis.

Evolved Cats

Where She went for lunch today was Her beloved MusicGuy's boy's place. She went with some really nice ladies and they sure talked a lot. She loves that. To hear Her tell about it they had a marvelous time and ate wonderful food. It was a perfect way to spend some time. The place to eat is about a guy who believed that everything grew from something else. She says that is evolution. Some people think everything was made just like it is and stayed the same. I personally believe I came from fierce giant cats with huge teeth. I'm glad Kasey and I have evolved, because He and She would never bring one of those fierce cats into the house.
She loves the ladies who had lunch with Her today. One of the ladies lives close by and they rode together in Her car. That was fine until they were almost home. She looked both ways, but didn't see the car that was coming. Lucky for Her, Her friend saw it and they did stop in time. Whew. That was close. She is afraid the lady won't ride with Her anymore.
Because She had a big lunch, She is not fixing a big dinner. He will have leftover spaghetti and She will have something easy. I still think I'll get a taste. Very evolved cats always get something good. More news tomorrow.

Tuckered Out Cats

The fixing guys were here again today, to finish up all the tree-stumps and stuff in the back yard. Luckily, He showed them where the TV cable comes in, or we would have been watching Them watching us! I didn't even go into the closet, I am getting so used to them. I did go and get about a bunch of minutes brushing. I got a little used to that brushing, so I was a little grumpy when She stopped. I got over that and now I'm my old cheerful self.
You would not believe the number of catalogs that came today. I bet there were enough to make a forest. She is always cancelling the catalogs, because She shops on line, mostly. The recycle guy doesn't take catalogs. There are some She likes to look at, but only a few, although She checks all the ones that come before She throws them away.
Today She got a message from some company that said they would pay her for being in an experiment about depression. That means being sad all the time. She says the thing that made Her the most sad is now in heaven or someplace. I think I know what She means.
She meant to have spaghetti on Saturday, but it didn't work out, so now She has gone to fix it for tonight. I believe I will join them for a little taste. I will rest a bit first. So long Oolong.

Special Cats

Some special things happened today, and Kasey and I had a part in them. First of all, She went to Her old church today. She used to go every single week, but now She only goes when there is something special, like LW'sMom or another good friend does something. Today Her very good guitar friend and Her actor friend did the music for the morning. Once She got there, She was happy to see some old friends and the guy who gave the talk was interesting. The best was the music. Everyone really liked it.
After the church, another special thing happened. You see, Sabra'sBoy is moving to a new house, and He said the boy could have His mother's furniture. Sabra'sDad came and looked at it, and Kaey followed them into the garage. Afterward the three friends sat down to have a nice talk. I was laughing because Kasey was still out there. I checked and saw that Sabra'sDad was a very nice guy, just like They had told me, so I didn't go hide in my closet. I was there while They talked, and then Sabra'sDad had to go home. Kasey came back in the regular house when He opened the door. So you see, it was a very special day.
This will be a busy week for all of us, so be sure to check my stories every day. Fun things and scary things while She gets ready for Her eye operation. I'll keep you up- to date. Chow.

Work-Day Cats

We had to get up early today, because the fixing guy was coming to help Him with the back yard. Oh, my, but there was a lot getting fixed back there. Even after all the work He has done already, there were lots of wood to take away, lots of leaves and branches to chop down, lots of things to put back in the one remaining shed. I am exhausted just telling you about it. When it is all done, the yard will look nice, and She may even plant a garden. Even writing that makes me laugh. If you know Her at all, you know She can't keep a plant alive for a week. But I won't tell Her I don't believe Her. It might hurt Her feelings.
She also went on a nice ride with Katy'sMom and Katy'sGirl. She likes these rides, because they talk and laugh. Humans need to do that. Just like I need my snuggles, She needs Her talking and laughing. He is so much more light-hearted since His mother died that He even jokes with Her. People believe that when a mother dies a guy is sad. He is not sad. He is grateful his mother is at peace at last.
Since the fixing guy was outside all day, Kasey and I were not hiding in the closet. We could watch out the window. it was kind of fun. We have never seen the back yard without all the stuff in it. This is a good project. I'll keep reporting as it goes along. Now I need a nap. "night.

Frantic Friday Cats

It has been a busy day around here, but I can smell the pink fish in the oven, and I am calm and happy. We all woke up in good spirits, because the business part of His mother's death is getting done. You have to have a paper to prove you died, it turns out, and He has had to run around all over the place to get things signed and checked. He made one mistake, though. He took His mother's wheelchairs all around to try to sell, but no one was interested. He did all this in Friday afternoon traffic. Even Kasey and I know that is not a wise time to be driving all over the place. He is knackered and ready for His nice dinner when it comes out of the oven.
She is happy to be planning a lunch with a bunch of Her ladies next week. The beloved people who just moved back here from halfway around the world want to visit that lovely place to eat that was made by Her MusicGuy's boy. Every time She has been there, She has felt like it is a nice place in a lot of ways. That makes it perfect for her dear ladies.
But now I must go check on the dinner fixing. You would not want me to miss my chance to have some of that pink fish, would you. Oh, and I told you I would report on the package from Her PoetryGirl. Yes. It did come and She was totally in a happy dance over it. So long for now.

Cat Moves

Oh, yes, I can run and stalk and scamper just fine. I can leap to the back to His chair, which wiggles back and forth. I can jump up on Her chair, as well, but I cannot jump as well as Kasey. She can jump way up on the closet shelves. Kasey walks around like she owns the place, and I truly think she believes she does. On the other hand, despite my proven ability to scamper, I am very fussy about where I walk. You can never tell what might be there on the floor for a cat to step on. Sometimes I think it is a bug, or a dangerous sharp stone - but it always turns out to be the design in the carpet. He laughs at me, but She understands. You know She cannot even scamper, and She walks very slowly. She has not fallen down since She got those new shoes, but She is always careful not to fall down. Once down, it is too hard for Her to get back up. She told me that She may be better at walking when they fix Her eyes. It will be easier to see Her feet, She says. It sounds silly to me, but I don't want to discourage Her.
The package Her PoetryGirl has sent still did not come, and She is sorry that She has to tell her that. It was such a nice thing to do, and it has gone wrong. Well, She will keep on the lookout. She has ordered many things from the same company, and it always comes right on time. What could be wrong this time? In fact, I will go and sit by the window and watch for the truck. Cat Friends

You know that we have lots of friends, and especially cousins. Kasey is my best cat-friend, even though we act like we don't like each other. We are good at sharing our food and water, and you wouldn't do that unless you were friends. He and She have friends, as well, and They think their friends are the best thing they have - except maybe Kasey and me. And there are the grandchildren, of course. He and She don't know what they would do without their grandchildren. Today She had lunch with Her beloved Crones, for example. She said She felt relaxed and groovy after the lunch and talk. She was very happy when She came home.
Also, this morning She had a chat with Her beloved OperaGirl. It was on the computer, and it was fun to cyber-talk with her. That's what She calls it - cyber-talk. She likes to keep track of what Her girls are doing. She says it makes Her heart smile.
I heard Her telling Him all the things She had for lunch. At the lunch place, you can take your plate and get whatever you want. You can even go back a hundred times if you want to. She just filled one plate, but there was a big mixture of food on it. After that, She got to pick out some dessert. She loves dessert. They have all kinds. Today, they even had spun sugar on a stick. She didn't have that, or food dipped in a chocolate fountain, but She is too full to fix dinner, so it is kibbles for me. I'll let you know what happens tomorrow.
