Project Cats

I guess She is remembering how He used to be when His life was full of projects. Today He brought everything down from Their attic and is now sorting it out. Of course the house is full of stuff and it is hard to move around. She says it reminds Her of the olden days. There is too much stuff everywhere and He is getting kind of stressed. Still, She says, it is better than when He was like a zombie. Since Zombies are kind of famous right now, I'm not sure why She is glad, but He is more like a busy bee than a zombie.
She just stays out of the way. She has been drinking delicious coffee, with the stuff in it that Hana'sGran brought. It makes the coffee taste like chocolate and cinnamon. I have spent four dollars for coffee that tastes like that, and now I can have it whenever I want, She says. H'sG also brought some good kind of cookies. She is being careful to eat one every day instead of all at once.
They have warned Kasey and me that there will be some scary creatures at the door tonight, and maybe we had better go hide out She has a big bowl of candy to give them when they say trick or treat. I wonder what the scary guys would do if She didn't give them candy. She says She is not interested in finding that out. Things should go more smoothly tomorrow, when She has to put the drops in Her eyes. However much He gets done, He has to take Her for the eye thing after tomorrow. It will be a busy night, full of scary things, so I'm going to scamper for now. Happy Scary Day.

Sunday Brunch Cats

Awhile ago, She used to go on a brunch-crawl with Mabel'sMom, and today She went on one with Him. They went to a place where they had a paper for part of the money off, and had a nice time. She said it was a feast fit for a king, or a guy who got a new car She can ride in. Can you guess whether She brought some home? If you could hear me purring, you could guess. Since it is a day with perfect weather, She actually did a bit of walking and didn't fall down once!He wants Her to be used to walking by the time they go on that boat ride. He says He wants to go on more brunch-crawls with her when She gets more of those papers.
Since Her heart was already happy, She was even happier still when Her beloved Hana'sGran decided to come over for awhile. H'G has been on Her mind every day, because she had a lot of germs and felt sick. Now she is better, and Can enjoy the catalog with good ideas for Hana and her brother. What a joy these people are to Her and me. Kasey doesn't care.
Another catalog had a book She had to send to one of Her friends. This person has a very clever little girl who is always saying cute things. One of Her catalogs had a book where you could write down these things to remember all your life. That's what happens with these catalogs. She sees just the right thing and has to get it. That's what She does with the money She saves being fussy about it. She even got something for Kasey and me, but it didn't come yet, so I will be surprised. Kasey won't care. Toodles.

Cool Cats

When we woke up this morning, it was really cold. It also Made Him kind of cold when He went out without His shirt to feed the birds and bring in the paper. She gets tired of Him not wearing a shirt, but He says He's hot-blooded. She says sheesh, whatever that means, and She hopes the Homeowners' Association doesn't tell Him He's bringing down property values. It is good to hear them joke with each other like that. You see, She doesn't care what He wears, and He doesn't mind putting on a shirt if She nags at Him.
He didn't sign up for anything new today, and She just went to the store. She didn't really feel like going, but She said if She waits until Monday, all the good stuff will be gone. I asked Her how that could happen, but She said Maybe it just feels that way because most of the shopping is on Saturdays. I'm glad Kasey and I don't have to go out to the store. She used to like to go, but now She hardly goes anywhere, and shopping is a big deal. She has everything we need for a long time. It saves Her trip to the store, and it saves money, She says. If you go shopping when you're hungry you always buy more. Anyway, we have plenty of good stuff to share with cats. (ahem).
I'm going to go get some snuggles right now. They are good at any time, but especially when it's cool. Cheers.

Hmmmmph Cats

Without giving a thought to Their adorable cats, He and She made some plans to take a trip very far away, so far that They have to take a boat. And They will be gone for a lot of days. No, They did not invite us to go along, and I don't mind telling you I am hurt and dismayed. I don't know what we are going to do by ourselves all those days! I am telling you, if They don't get someone in here to take care of us, I may just move to Smudges house! In fact, if one of Mazie's brothers doesn't stay here with us.......well. I will plan something evil. Oh, andf in case you're interested, Kasey says that as long as she gets her food and water, she doesn't care where They go.
She iis so particular about money that I asked Her if this kind of boat ride was a wise use of Their savings. She told me He had dreamed about a trip like this absolutely all His life, and He took such good care of His mother that He deserves a dream-come-true. She said it would be polite for Kasey and me to be nice about it. Easy for Her to say. She isn't getting left behind. Relax, Cofs, She says to me. It won't happen for a lot of months - Way after Christmas. We have time to get used to it. Well, at least that's something. Don't worry. I'll keep you all informed as the days go by. For now, though, I'm going to see what She is fixing for our dinner. (sigh) Bye.

Honda Cats

Honda is the kind of car He likes, and today He got His best one. When He had to buy a car for His mother, He got a great big car with every kind of thing on it. Bells and whistles is what She called it, but I did not hear anything. When His mother couldn't go out anymore, He got a smaller car, which I thought was not very pretty. It looked like a box. Here is the worst thing about that car: She had lots of trouble getting into it, because it was very tall. Luckily, Hana'sGran gave Her a step to use, and that was better, but She really did not like that car. Since He likes Her to feel happy, He went and found another car He could trade for the box car. She and I love this newest one. It is the color of cranberry juice, and it will fit into the garage. Those other big cars had to stay outside. Now, a year later, He finally has the right car. We are all chuffed, except for Kasey. Kasey doesn't care.
So He wanted to go out for dinner and celebrate, but She can't go tonight, since it is Crones night. Maybe tomorrow. And if They go, They will bring something home for Their beloved cats (ahem). At least She will.
In one more week She will be getting one of Her eyes fixed, and She can't wait. Next week I will be a pirate, Cofs, She told me. I think it was a joke,
Kasey is just sitting there, waiting to be chased. Gotta run. TTYL

Thinking Day Cats

Today was the day They went to visit their Thinking People. Thinking day is one of Their favorite days. She doesn't even mind getting up early on thinking days. Sabra'sDad was in charge today. That is one of Their favorite people. The Big Question to think about was willpower. He and She have lots of willpower. More than you would guess. She loves Her cookies and sweets, which wears out a person's will power, but She is good about loving Her cats and Her other friends. He has more willpower than She has, because He was successful at giving up some really bad habits. He eats more vegetables than She does, but She is better at taking care of money. She was glad to see the other Thinking People, as well.
When They came home, She worked hard on fixing those special papers for Him. He liked the way She did Her papers last week, so She did some for Him, as well. Now if they get sick and die, everyone will get things all cleared up just fine. Do you know there was even a part in there about making sure Their precious cats are taken care of? Kasey is pleased, but I don't know what I would do without Her, especially, although He fills up the food bowls. I don't want to talk about this any more, so I will go and see what She is doing about our dinner. I will still give Her snuggles, although there is a suspicious smell of d-o-g on Her. Sabra'sDad mus be dog-sitting again. Poor Sabra. Her cousin, Chula, is an energy ball. BBFN (bye bye for now)

Don't Bite Cats

It is not easy to admit that I am the one that bites. Granted, I don't bite very hard, but I think it hurts Her feelings when I take a little love nip. She doesn't understand that it is like a little smooch, not a bite. But He is the one having trouble about biting . He had to go to a different dentist, because his mouth is sore. It turned out that He needs to take medicine for his poor mouth. I guess the dentist didn't get all the germs out. He will be fixed up pretty soon, though. Of course, He doesn't bite anything but His food, so I'm still the guilty biter. Kasey, as grumpy as she is, doesn't ever bite things she is not supposed to.
There was some good mail today. She got a letter from Her brother, who is Abbey'sDad. It had a story about his oldest son - not the one that was here, but the other one. He told about how the bank trouble spoiled a project for him. It was sad, but he learned a lot - the hard way. Another letter was from a dear girl who had moved away. Not Mazie, but Mazie's next sister. She was chuffed to read the nice letter.
It won't be long before Her beloved Smudge'sMom goes on a plane to visit family. We will miss her, but we're glad She is feeling so well that she can travel around in planes.
The Italian Boys were singing while She worked today,. She never gets tired of hearing them, Some day She may go to see them. But not today. I'll say Oddy-ose for today.

One Snuggly Cat

For some reason, I was really interested in getting snuggles. Every time She sat down, I would get up there and get a few more snuggles. She thought I wanted something. so She checked my water - full dish. She checked my food - full dish. She checked the litterbox - nice and clean. What is it you want, Cofs? She said to me. I guess She's kind of dim today. Anyone could tell what I wanted. Snuggles. When Kasey wnats something, she just meows. One thing Kasey never wants. Snuggles. If She tried to snuggle Kasey, She would get a biff for Her trouble.
Things are nice and quiet around here today.He and She are getting some decluttering done, as usual, and He mowed the grass. He reported that a new cat has come to have a little nibble of treats. This is a black and white cat. I have seen him from the window. That is one hungry cat. Katy-next-door had better learn to eat faster, or the new guy will eat up all the kibbles.
She is excited that this will be a busy week. She is getting a lot of things done before Her eye operation. After that, She won't be able to drive for a long time. I am glad She will be fine, and especially glad that She will mostly be able to stay at home with Her beloved cats. You can never tell when I will have a need for some more snuggles. Clean Cats

There was some excitement here today, and it started early. Remember, He is on a mission to do all the things He has been too tired or stressed to do. He worked hard on the back yard and with help of the fixing guy, He has it looking almost right. It has bothered Him for awhile that the kitchen had some spots and splatters, and He and She had been giving it what He calls a lick and a promise. I have never seen them do that, but that's what He says. Well, today some people came and fixed it all up so it's nice and clean. Especially places where She can't reach. She is chuffed. She said it took 30 years to get this way, now we have another 30 to get it dirty again. He didn't think that was too funny.
She went on the computer and found a place where they work for just a little money and they make papers that tell what you want when you are sick, or when you die. They have had these papers before, which cost them a huge lot of money. You know how She is. Don't spend too much money, even if it's something you really must have. It made me kind of sad to see Her planning for those bad times, but She said this is the time to do it. When you feel good and know it will be better for your thoughts if it is done. I'll tell you this: Kasey and I are not getting papers like that. She says She is celebrating with pizza. That's a cheerful thing to do. Chow, Bambini.

Back Window Cats

Some of the fun that Kasey and I have is looking out the windows. Today we were interested in the window that shows the back yard. The fixing guy came again and finished taking down the last extra building, and now our back yard looks nice, with one single building for extra things. Now, when He paints that, our back yard will look just fine. He is really getting into this fixing business. He has the fixing man coming back to make the kitchen look nice and new, and They will have company again. She started to think those days were over. Of course, with Kasey and I doing the watching, everything will be nifty.
The mail guy brought a really big bill for His mother and He was feeling very worried, but the place where His mother used to stay got it all arranged for Him, and He is feeling much better about it. The old woman has been dead for two weeks and every time we think everything is all fixed, another bill comes. I think it is all fine now, though. I'll keep you posted.
She sent Mazie some soap in the shape of skulls and Mazie really liked them. It makes Her tickled pink when people get stuff from Them. DeeDee'sMom and Her beloved OperaGirl better keep watching the mail. (snerk). But now the important thing is having fish for our dinner. It is not the pink kind, but a white kind covered in crumbs. I don't mind crumbs. Friends, I am a happy cat. Sy-o-nara,

Ready Cats

You never know what things are going to happen, so you need to be ready for just about anything. Kasey and I are ready to get to the right places at the right time.When it is time to go to the cat doc, we are ready but not willing. She is getting ready to get Her eyes fixed so She can see better and even read books again. She got the OK for the operation, and today She went to see the eye lady. They measured Her eyes so the doc can put the right replacement for the piece she takes away. She came home with a cute little kit with medicine and stuff in it. The doc gave Her a list with exact details of what She has to do the day before the operation. So as of this minute, She is ready. And not scared.
While She was riding in the car, She heard some news about places that were running out of money, so they have to fire a bunch of teachers. This makes Her want to cry, even with Her cloudy eyes. How are people supposed to learn, She wonders, with good teachers being fired? Even if She could teach now, They would not pick Her. She is too old and old-fashioned. She has a love for teaching and for children and can tell you everything they are doing wrong. I feel sorry for schools if She decides to scold them. I must go and give Her some snuggles now, so She will forget about teachers and be cheered by Her nice eye lady. Poodle Tip. (Get it?)

Heart Happy Cats

Everyone has a heart, and it is a good idea to keep it healthy. Kasey and I have healthy hearts according to the cat docs. Today She went to Her doc to be sure Her heart was healthy enough for Her eye operation in two weeks. They put sticky stuff on Her and wires, and they checked the machine and said Her heart was OK for an old person. They poked Her all over and took a bunch of Her blo9od. Then they took a magic picture that shows Her insides. After all that, they said She was OK for the operation. She was chuffed. She was also hungry, because She wasn't allowed to eat or have coffee-the-drink before She went. After She got the good news, She had a big gushy hamburger and 2 of Her Eddie-cups full of coffee. Tomorrow She has to go tell the eye doc the good news, but She can eat before She goes there. After that, She just has to wait. Next thing you know, She will be able to see much better.
She still talks about the fun She had at lunch yesterday. She is so very glad to have such nice friends - and friends whose sons have good places to eat. She is worried about Smudge'sMom, who had too many troubles to go for lunch. In spite of everything that is good, She still feels sad about the teachers and schools. How can they have money for a war and not for children, She says. I don't know either. Do you? More later. Ah-dyoo mes amis.

Evolved Cats

Where She went for lunch today was Her beloved MusicGuy's boy's place. She went with some really nice ladies and they sure talked a lot. She loves that. To hear Her tell about it they had a marvelous time and ate wonderful food. It was a perfect way to spend some time. The place to eat is about a guy who believed that everything grew from something else. She says that is evolution. Some people think everything was made just like it is and stayed the same. I personally believe I came from fierce giant cats with huge teeth. I'm glad Kasey and I have evolved, because He and She would never bring one of those fierce cats into the house.
She loves the ladies who had lunch with Her today. One of the ladies lives close by and they rode together in Her car. That was fine until they were almost home. She looked both ways, but didn't see the car that was coming. Lucky for Her, Her friend saw it and they did stop in time. Whew. That was close. She is afraid the lady won't ride with Her anymore.
Because She had a big lunch, She is not fixing a big dinner. He will have leftover spaghetti and She will have something easy. I still think I'll get a taste. Very evolved cats always get something good. More news tomorrow.

Tuckered Out Cats

The fixing guys were here again today, to finish up all the tree-stumps and stuff in the back yard. Luckily, He showed them where the TV cable comes in, or we would have been watching Them watching us! I didn't even go into the closet, I am getting so used to them. I did go and get about a bunch of minutes brushing. I got a little used to that brushing, so I was a little grumpy when She stopped. I got over that and now I'm my old cheerful self.
You would not believe the number of catalogs that came today. I bet there were enough to make a forest. She is always cancelling the catalogs, because She shops on line, mostly. The recycle guy doesn't take catalogs. There are some She likes to look at, but only a few, although She checks all the ones that come before She throws them away.
Today She got a message from some company that said they would pay her for being in an experiment about depression. That means being sad all the time. She says the thing that made Her the most sad is now in heaven or someplace. I think I know what She means.
She meant to have spaghetti on Saturday, but it didn't work out, so now She has gone to fix it for tonight. I believe I will join them for a little taste. I will rest a bit first. So long Oolong.

Special Cats

Some special things happened today, and Kasey and I had a part in them. First of all, She went to Her old church today. She used to go every single week, but now She only goes when there is something special, like LW'sMom or another good friend does something. Today Her very good guitar friend and Her actor friend did the music for the morning. Once She got there, She was happy to see some old friends and the guy who gave the talk was interesting. The best was the music. Everyone really liked it.
After the church, another special thing happened. You see, Sabra'sBoy is moving to a new house, and He said the boy could have His mother's furniture. Sabra'sDad came and looked at it, and Kaey followed them into the garage. Afterward the three friends sat down to have a nice talk. I was laughing because Kasey was still out there. I checked and saw that Sabra'sDad was a very nice guy, just like They had told me, so I didn't go hide in my closet. I was there while They talked, and then Sabra'sDad had to go home. Kasey came back in the regular house when He opened the door. So you see, it was a very special day.
This will be a busy week for all of us, so be sure to check my stories every day. Fun things and scary things while She gets ready for Her eye operation. I'll keep you up- to date. Chow.

Work-Day Cats

We had to get up early today, because the fixing guy was coming to help Him with the back yard. Oh, my, but there was a lot getting fixed back there. Even after all the work He has done already, there were lots of wood to take away, lots of leaves and branches to chop down, lots of things to put back in the one remaining shed. I am exhausted just telling you about it. When it is all done, the yard will look nice, and She may even plant a garden. Even writing that makes me laugh. If you know Her at all, you know She can't keep a plant alive for a week. But I won't tell Her I don't believe Her. It might hurt Her feelings.
She also went on a nice ride with Katy'sMom and Katy'sGirl. She likes these rides, because they talk and laugh. Humans need to do that. Just like I need my snuggles, She needs Her talking and laughing. He is so much more light-hearted since His mother died that He even jokes with Her. People believe that when a mother dies a guy is sad. He is not sad. He is grateful his mother is at peace at last.
Since the fixing guy was outside all day, Kasey and I were not hiding in the closet. We could watch out the window. it was kind of fun. We have never seen the back yard without all the stuff in it. This is a good project. I'll keep reporting as it goes along. Now I need a nap. "night.

Frantic Friday Cats

It has been a busy day around here, but I can smell the pink fish in the oven, and I am calm and happy. We all woke up in good spirits, because the business part of His mother's death is getting done. You have to have a paper to prove you died, it turns out, and He has had to run around all over the place to get things signed and checked. He made one mistake, though. He took His mother's wheelchairs all around to try to sell, but no one was interested. He did all this in Friday afternoon traffic. Even Kasey and I know that is not a wise time to be driving all over the place. He is knackered and ready for His nice dinner when it comes out of the oven.
She is happy to be planning a lunch with a bunch of Her ladies next week. The beloved people who just moved back here from halfway around the world want to visit that lovely place to eat that was made by Her MusicGuy's boy. Every time She has been there, She has felt like it is a nice place in a lot of ways. That makes it perfect for her dear ladies.
But now I must go check on the dinner fixing. You would not want me to miss my chance to have some of that pink fish, would you. Oh, and I told you I would report on the package from Her PoetryGirl. Yes. It did come and She was totally in a happy dance over it. So long for now.

Cat Moves

Oh, yes, I can run and stalk and scamper just fine. I can leap to the back to His chair, which wiggles back and forth. I can jump up on Her chair, as well, but I cannot jump as well as Kasey. She can jump way up on the closet shelves. Kasey walks around like she owns the place, and I truly think she believes she does. On the other hand, despite my proven ability to scamper, I am very fussy about where I walk. You can never tell what might be there on the floor for a cat to step on. Sometimes I think it is a bug, or a dangerous sharp stone - but it always turns out to be the design in the carpet. He laughs at me, but She understands. You know She cannot even scamper, and She walks very slowly. She has not fallen down since She got those new shoes, but She is always careful not to fall down. Once down, it is too hard for Her to get back up. She told me that She may be better at walking when they fix Her eyes. It will be easier to see Her feet, She says. It sounds silly to me, but I don't want to discourage Her.
The package Her PoetryGirl has sent still did not come, and She is sorry that She has to tell her that. It was such a nice thing to do, and it has gone wrong. Well, She will keep on the lookout. She has ordered many things from the same company, and it always comes right on time. What could be wrong this time? In fact, I will go and sit by the window and watch for the truck. Cat Friends

You know that we have lots of friends, and especially cousins. Kasey is my best cat-friend, even though we act like we don't like each other. We are good at sharing our food and water, and you wouldn't do that unless you were friends. He and She have friends, as well, and They think their friends are the best thing they have - except maybe Kasey and me. And there are the grandchildren, of course. He and She don't know what they would do without their grandchildren. Today She had lunch with Her beloved Crones, for example. She said She felt relaxed and groovy after the lunch and talk. She was very happy when She came home.
Also, this morning She had a chat with Her beloved OperaGirl. It was on the computer, and it was fun to cyber-talk with her. That's what She calls it - cyber-talk. She likes to keep track of what Her girls are doing. She says it makes Her heart smile.
I heard Her telling Him all the things She had for lunch. At the lunch place, you can take your plate and get whatever you want. You can even go back a hundred times if you want to. She just filled one plate, but there was a big mixture of food on it. After that, She got to pick out some dessert. She loves dessert. They have all kinds. Today, they even had spun sugar on a stick. She didn't have that, or food dipped in a chocolate fountain, but She is too full to fix dinner, so it is kibbles for me. I'll let you know what happens tomorrow.

Cheery Cats

When a day contains so many things She loves, it makes this whole place cheery. First of all, there was coffee with Hana'sGran. That would be enough to make Her cheery for the whole day. It happened that She got a free coffee-the-drink, and it was - you guessed it - Pumpkin Spice! Those two things happening together were kind of a special event. She and H'sG had a lovely talk and then both of them went to get haircuts.
For a lot of years, the same lady has been cutting Her hair, and the lady knows just how She likes it. It started way back before She got white hair. The haircut lady said a lot of people want the same haircut, because it is always in style. People used to wonder how She got it colored. She said Mother Nature dyed Her hair. Does that make sense to you?
Then, She went to a store to get His and Her medicine. The medicine lady told Her how nice she thought He is, and that made Her quite chuffed. She told him when She got home.
Lots of days it is hard for Her to do two things. Today She did three, and still feels fine. Can it be that things are getting easier around here? Hmmmm. I need to check on the plans for dinner. Oddy-ose.

Different Cats

You can tell things are different around here. Since His mother died on Saturday, you can feel how different things are. He is relaxed and not so tired. She is looking forward to things, There are plenty of nice conversations. He and She are planning a garage sale. Do you know what that is? He and She will put a lot of stuff out on tables and sell them to people who come by. He will put out His mother's old stuff, and try to find a home for the old lady's expensive wheelchair. Do you remember when they had to spend all her money? They bought the most expensive things for His mother. It drove Her crazy. As it turned out, the old lady died before her insurance ran out, but it was too late. All her money was gone. Well, that's the way it is, and there is nothing They can do, except have a garage sale. Luckily, They still have their friends and family, and more money than a lot of people according to the news.
She was doing some planning for the week, and She is chuffed that She will have a visit with Hana'sGran tomorrow. That is a pleasant kind of plan. Then Her beloved Crones have lunch this week. You can just feel the new happiness around here. I am not looking forward to dinner tonight, though. She is fixing some chicken and making it very spicy. I hope She saves me some chicken without spiciness, but I am not sure I will get it. So, ttyl, guys.

Forgetful Cats

Kasey and I cannot remember the last time there was a day like this. They used to happen all the time, She told me, but I have to go and check out the window to make sure I'm really seeing this. It started to rain last night.l It has been raining all day long, There is some loud noise once in awhile, but not too bad. The thing is, it is not like a storm. I think I remember a storm. But imagine the rain falling all day long. She said the clouds might have been waiting for His mother to die. I told Her She mustn't talk like that. It was still His mother, I told Her. And He is a very nice guy. Well, OK, She said to me. Imagine learning how to behave from my cat, She said.
He had to go very early to deal with business at the hospital, the cemetary place and the place where His mother lived. He has to go back on Tuesday, because the computers went down so He couldn't get the copies He needs. Here's how relieved He feels that His mother is gone: He brought home steak for Their dinner. He hasn't had steak in lots and lots of months. I can't remember the last time He had steak. She will fix anything He likes. Tonight it will be steak.
The kind of day this is turns out to be a cozy day. We are all glad to be here for each other, and have snuggles and pets as needed. Have a good evening, my reader friends.

Phone Call Cats

Everything was peaceful. We were all sleeping and cozy, when the phone started to ring. She thought She was dreaming and didn't answer the phone in time. In a few minutes it rang again. This time He got it and talked to a lady who said they were taking His mother to the ER. ( I believe that's in a hospital.) After that, the phone rang about a dozen more times. They were awake by then, even though it was the middle of the night. The calls stopped and we all went back to sleep. Just when it was starting to be light in the sky, the phone rang one more time, and the lady on the phone told Him that His mother had died. When a person's mother dies, you are supposed to feel sad. When the person is 94 years old and doesn't know anything anymore, how can you be sad? The old woman had not been happy, did not feel good, and was confused for a long time, He said. The old woman had cost Him and Her a lot of trouble about her money. The old woman had cost Her a friendship that She had treasured. She was not sad the His mother was gone. They were both relieved, it seemed like. Even though there isn't any money left, She feels as if She had been set free. I am glad I am not a person. These things are very hard to figure out. I hope He and She can have a peaceful life now. After all, They have very nice cats.

Spicy Cats

Do you know what Pumpkin Spice Latte is? Neither do I, but She had some this afternoon, and cannot stop talking about it. She was drinking this stuff when She went to see Smudge'sMom at the coffee place. I have a feeling there is going to be yearning for this spicy stuff all through the weekend. She had not seen Smudge'sMom in a lot of weeks, and it turns out there is a new kitty at Smudge's house. He got to see him today. Smudge confessed to me that he is not at all pleased with this new guy, but he would be in trouble if he harmed the newcomer.
Another good thing today, and kind of spicy, was that She talked to Her PoetryGirl on the phone. PoetryGirl lives very far away where there are mountains. Kasey and I have not ever seen a mountain, but She says they are beautiful. Her PoetryGirl sent Her a parcel, but it never showed up, so P.G. had to get the guys to send another box. It made her very chuffed to find out She was getting a parcel. She said She would be patient. Besides, She told me time goes so fast when you are old that it won't seem like a long time at all.
This was another nice day for us here, and I heard Her say there will be fish and chips tonight. I am dancing with joy. Kasey doesn't care. Ah-dyoo, amis.

Computer Cats

If we didn't have a computer, I don't know what She would do. It is all I can do to get Her away so I can write my story for you. First thing every day She reads the paper. Everything but the part about sports and about buying new cars and stuff. The next thing She does is get onto Her computer. She knows people who don't like to use computers, but since She has more friends by way of the computer than She has in real life, it is like talking to all Her friends every day. Some of the people on there She has never even seen, but I know She cares very much about them and what they are up to. She says She can't imagine life without Her Eddie girls. Kasey and I are OK with it, and so is He. She still takes time to pay attention to us. If She ever stops doing that, I will just lie on Her keyboard until She changes Her ways.
You should see our back yard. He is clearing everything out of those little houses back ther and sorting them in to things He will sell and things He will save, and things the fixing guy will take away in his truck Next, He will knock down two of the little houses, and the back yard will be beautiful again. Pretty soon, He and She will stop being stuck and will start going back to being regular people, with two adorable cats (ahem).
She says the TV is good tonight. British shows are Their favorites. They are OK. I can sleep through anything, except football games. Later, gator.

Behaving Cats

Kasey and I were both very well-behaved today. Oh, sure - I wanted snuggles and walked all over Her keyboard while She was trying to work. Sure, Kasey bothered Him and Her for treats a bunch of times, but compared to lions and tigers, we hardly did any damage at all. Now, I don't mean our cousin Lion. He is not a wild animal, She says He is an adorable cat who just looks like a little toy lion. He is well-behaved as well. We have decided to behave in a nice way because She and He are both so mad about the news, and even though they may have gotten everything straightened out with the morning paper, She has had enough to make her a little edgy. So we didn't harm anything or pee on anything besides our litter.
One thing that always cheers Her up is to have a visit with Katy'sMom. Today they took Katy'sBoy to see his doc, and they had a good time talking. Another good thing is that She got a package in the mail from one of Her catalog shopping trips. She hasn't opened it yet, but I can't wait to see what is in there.
She put something nice in the oven to cook for our dinner. I'm not sure, but I think it had eggs and cheese and meat. I like all of those things, so I will keep behaving til I get some. Bye.

Relaxing Cats

It was a lovely night. We saw dinosaurs and Dr. House. She loves that one. Then we all had a cozy sleep and felt like getting things done in a relaxed (and groovy) way. You probably already know that Her beloved Eddie says that. So, one thing after another, and various chores got taken care of. There is a tiresome job that She tries to get done at this time of year. It is changing Her calendar from the one that is finishing to one that starts now and goes all through next year. In a way, it is kind of fun, putting in all the birthdays and meetings and appointments. She put in a lot about the operation on Her eyes, which will take up a lot of time on the next page.Most of His and Her friends have their calendars on their magical phones or other machines. They don't need to do that because They are in one place most of the time, and anyway, They are used to writing it down. She was reading about a gadget that Her beloved OperaGirl has. You can read books on it and keep your appointments and send messages, too, I guess. My my. If someone had told Her about all these amazing things when She was Mazie's age, She would have thought it was all made up for a movie. But no, these things are real, and although She loves Her computer, She doesn't wish She had all the new stuff. Sometimes you just have to let yourself be old, Cofs, She says to me. But She is glad Her young friends and family have the chance to be up-to-date. She hopes they never get too used to it, though. Keep the magic, She says. TTYL

Knackered Cats

When She woke up this morning, She had plans. It was time to get Her toes painted again. Kasey and I are glad we don't have to have that toe painting thing. Someone took out our fingernails a long time ago. We were like that when She brought us to our home. She says it feels really important, because you get treated very nicely. Your chair has a massage in it. The water is warm and smells nice. You know She can't reach Her nails over Her big tummy, so She lets the little ladies do it for Her. Ahhh, She says. If She would have gone back home then, She would be dancing today. Instead, She took Her list and Her coupons and She went shopping. By the time She got through, and He and She put everything away, She was all tired out. I will bet you eleven kibbles that She is not going out anymore today - and maybe tomorrow, too.
Also, She is mad at the paper. They didn't bring one today, and when He called them, they said She had not paid. Well, He paid them on the phone, but when He told Her, I thought She would explode. That makes three times they have been paid for the same time. None of the payments were late. It was funny to see how mad She was. I thought steam would come out of Her ears. To make things worse, She had to wait a long time, and then they said they couldn't talk to Her. I pity the guy she talks to next.
I have to go and check on what's for dinner, so I'll say TaTa for now.

Lovely Day Cats

First of all, the weather was good today. When He went out to feed the birds, He said it was actually quite cool. No one has been able to say that for quite awhile now. She loves that He feeds the birds every day. We don't have a fancy bird-feeding thing, He just puts seeds out on the patio and the old table-top in the back. He also feeds Katy-Next-Door out there, when she shows up.
Then, She got a wonderful message from Hana'sGran about what a nice talk LW'sMom gave at the place where she went to church. It made Her so very proud of LW'sMom - even more proud than usual. Pretty soon she will be a minister, and that means she will be helping people all the time. It was a very happy report, and made Her day lovelier.
Then, what is Her favorite way to buy things? You know the answer is when She can get a bargain. He and She like a special kind of coffee, and it costs more than regular. Where She buys it says you can buy 9 packages and get the 10th one free. Oh, sure, She loves that, but today the store said they were giving money off of each package, so She got one package free and only paid a little bit for each of the others. That puts the icing on the lovely-day-cake for Her. Now, She is looking forward to Her beloved Eddie being on TV tonight, and more wonderful pictures from Her beloved OperaGirl. This is what I call a lovely day. Hope you had one, too.

Organized Cats

This is an organizing day. You know we have a problem keeping ahead of the clutter. Well, we are getting kind of a hold on that, and now She is in a frenzy of organizing. What if, She says - what if we put our papers neatly into places that are made for things like that? Kasey and I think that would work just fine. It means a frenzy of throwing things out, dusting things off, and putting things where they belong. I never realized She had things She could use for that. You get used to seeing stuff without realizing that it is a thing for stacking papers. It has been kind of fun, and I am sure that it helps Her to have me up here on the desk pushing things around and making useless things go onto the floor. Whatever would She do without us!
We have kind of stopped ordering things from catalogs for awhile. I think She is kind of sad that She has lost things in Her Christmas Present closet. She knows She got some special candy for Cleo'sGirls, but now She doesn't see it in there. She also lost a package of rings that are for little girls. People are going to think I don't know what they would like, Cofs, She said to me. I gave Her some snuggles and cheered Her up. Now She is working some puzzles to relax.
He is wanting to lose weight, so She asked Him what He would like for supper. Guess what He said. Pizza. She and Kasey and I had a good laugh about that. Well, Ill check in with you later. Bye.
