Today She and Rocky'sMom went to a place that She had a free ticket for. It was named Cajun. She had to explain that to me, but it is definitely worth knowing. Cajun is a name for people who live where Rocky'sMom and Dad used to live, and there is a lot to the story, but the part that made a hit with me is that they love fish. I have warm feelings for people who like fish, and it makes me purr just to think about what She has in that take-away box. She told Him that She brought Him some kind of fish called crawfish. The joke is that they are not fish at all, but tiny little lobsters that Cajuns love. It will be all I can do to wait until He opens up that box. At times like this, I have to know what patience means.
Another thing that happened today is about a call She got from Hana'sGran. Their talk was very serious, and I think it was something about Hana'sGran going away for a vacation. She just loves H'sG, and told her that She is happy for her and loves her very much. It is lucky that She has so many amazing friends. When H'sG gets back home, maybe they will go to the Cajun place together.
If we went on a vacation to where Cajun people live, Kate and I would love it. Kasey wouldn't care.
O-ree-vwar.

Crone Cats
It turns out that I can never be a Crone, because I am a guy. Crones are ladies of a special age. Some people think Crones are witches or bad women, but we know that is not true, because She is a Crone, and Her Crone friends are not witches or bad people. I heard Her explain it to someone this way. There are three stages in a woman's life. They are Maiden, which are girls who are too young to get married, then there are Mothers, who are women who can have children if they want them, and there are Crones, who are women who are too old to have more children. Her Crones believe that living a long time gives you wisdom. Crones are supposed to be strong and helpful. Her Crones are helpful to Her, because they make Her feel cheerful and happy. She says they keep Her centered - whatever that means. For someone who is centered, She sure falls down a lot. The Crones used to do stuff for the church, but most of them have drifted away from that. I guess Sabra'sMom is the only one who goes to the church anymore, or perhaps Mable'sMom. In our house, I believe Kasey is old enough to be a Crone in cat-years. Kate is too young. She would be in the Mother stage if she hadn't been fixed. So tonight She will go and meet with Her beloved Crones. They go to a place where there are good things to eat, and good coffee-the-drink. It doesn't cost Her anything, because Cleo'sMom gave Her a free ticket to get things there. We will see what He fixes for dinner, but I don't think I will like it. Kate likes what He fixes, but I think I will just eat my kibbles. I don't care, because Crones make Her so happy. Oh, if you want to be a Crone, that will be fine, because pre-Crones are welcome, She says. Just not guys.
Have a peaceful night. Shalom.

Fraidy Cats
It turns out everyone is afraid of something. It doesn't matter if you are a cat or a human, there is something that makes you jump. Or hide. Or run away. She likes to remind me that I am scared of loud noise and new people. I don't care if She kind of laughs about that, because I know She is afraid of falling down. If you are scared of something, it seems a little better to know there are others who are scared, too. I didn't think Kasey was scared of anything, but I am beginning to imagine that she is scared of Kate. After all this time, Kasey still hides from Kate. And Kate is kind of scared of Him. Lots of humans are afraid of bugs, but I think bugs are enormous fun. There aren't too many bugs that come in our house, but if one does, I have a living toy. I have been here a long time, and I am not sure what He is afraid of. He doesn't like some things, but He is not exactly afraid of them. He seems to be more afraid of idea things, like not being able to take care of us if He has no money. Being afraid can take over your life, you know. She is so afraid that She will fall that She hardly goes out anywhere. If it weren't for lunches with Her friends, and Her beloved Crones, She would just stay here in the house.I guess when you have fallen down a lot of times, and if you are quite old, a fall might just be dangerous. Because She has had so many falls, I know that about Her, but I don't remember what happened to me to make me so afraid of so many things. She wishes She knew the answer to that. She thinks that maybe someone was not nice to me. She would make them sorry, if She found out that was true. It is no good to say Don't be afraid, but there is so much nice stuff to do that you can't let it spoil things. My advice to you is don't be sad if you are afraid of something. Everyone is. G'nite.

Teaching Cats
If you know anything about Her, you know She used to be a teacher. Sometimes She forgets She is retired, and tries to teach people and cats stuff. She does a little better with people than with cats, I can promise you. I have heard Her talk about how She liked being a teacher, and had all kinds of experiences. She says She has taught every kind of kid there ever was in the world. Her favorites were the ones who had some problems with learning things, although they were clever enough to get it if they were taught right. For a long time, there weren't special teachers for these kinds of kids, but one day there was a new rule, and it was that these children could have special teachers. Of course, She went back to school to get the paper that let Her teach the guys. She didn't care if She taught rooms full of regular kids or the special ones, because She taught the same way. She knew not to shout at children and cats. I wish He would learn that. She knew it was better to find out how they learned best and teach them that way. Almost all of Her lessons were a combination of stuff. I believe She understands that cats don't intend to do anything they don't want to do already, but She doesn't get mad. People have told me She is patient. That means She doesn't get all upset like He does if something goes wrong at first. I am not sure if She is patient, or if She just wants people and cats to like learning things, which they won't do if you yell at them.
I'll go watch her program with Her now. The one with the questions. Toodles.

Kate Cat
Since I have gone back to playing in the living room, I have learned a lot about our new sister, Kate. I thought she was gray, but it turns out Kate is blue, with silver tips. Not nearly as pretty as I am, but she looks OK. When Kate used to live next door, she would come over here sometimes, and she was very sleek. Right now, Kat looks like a butterball. I don't know what that is, but that is what He calls her. Kate loves to have her round little tummy skritched, and gets up on Her lap. It is common for Kate to be a head-butter, so you could probably say she was a butter head, too, (snerk). After a few moments of attention, Kate jumps down and goes on to some other activity. We don't have a problem with Her lap unless Kate wants to get up there when I am already there. Oh, sure, I give her the fish-eye stare when she jumps up on Her, but I don't hiss or yow. I will tell you this, but don't tell Her or Kasey. I think Kate would like to be friends, but doesn't know how. One day I will write a story about Kate and me. We will be playing together happily, and She will be beaming with joy.Kate likes to get in the computer room, and gets on the windowsill. If she hears Him anywhere near the food dishes, Kate is off like a shot. When He is in the kitchen, Kate likes to follow him and beg for a handout. He likes to act gruff, but He always gives her something.
Speaking of kitchens, She is making some of that pink fish today, along with some green vegetables. I knew She would listen to me and make something good for dinner tonight. Have a nice evening.

Scarce Cats
Today Kate, Kasey and I made ourselves scarce by finding cozy places to lie about. We didn't go bothering for pets and skritches. We shall do that tonight, while They watch TV. I am still pouting a little bit about my story for Thursday getting lost, but She has tried everything She can think of to get it back, and I guess it is lost in the atmosphere.
One thing about Thursday was the place She went to eat with Rocky'sMom. It was a favorite of Hers before She stopped going places so much. R'sM wanted to go to a place with good desserts, so naturally, She thought of the place quite far away, past where LW lives. They have nice food, but their desserts are amazing. That's what She says. I do not care for dessert, so I have to take Her word. While the ladies were there, they had little cakes made of nuts and honey, and She needed to bring home Her sandwich. She had it for lunch yesterday, so it all turned out OK, but She also brought some of those little nut-honey cakes, and another kind of cake, and some cookies. It would probably not hurt Her to bring home some fish or gravy, but I guess She wasn't thinking about that.
Do you wonder why we are being scarce today? It is because that is the kind of day it is. He is busy, She is talking to Her friends, either on the phone or on Her computer, so the three of us agreed to rest up. She ate Her lunch so late that She is making some little chicken-cakes for our dinner. I haven't seen them before, so I'll have to let you know later. I did make Her promise to have fish tomorrow, even if She eats Her lunch late. Chicken is OK, but I am more interested in fish. TTYL.

Puzzled Cats
What happened to the story I wrote yesterday? I know I wrote a very interesting and moving story. I even remember some things about it. Well, it will probably turn up. I will confess, I have been having a bit of trouble with this computer. It has been very slow to connect to things, so maybe when I told the computer to publish it, the computer was sound asleep. If I find out that this story doesn't get printed, I will ask Her to call the computer-fixing guy and ask for his help. After all, how can I be expected to deprive you of my interesting and moving stories. That has me puzzled today.
I am also slightly puzzled about what happened here this afternoon. LW'sMom called and asked if some of her children could come over. She was so excited. You would have believed Her beloved Eddie was coming. I used to see these girls a lot, but I haven't seen them in a long time, and I remembered that they were little. The two girls that were here today were young ladies. When She sees how adorable LW is, and how smart, She has a hard time not bursting into tears of happiness. LW'sNextSister is almost grown up now. I heard her say she was going to be in Middle School. I am not sure what that is, but it sounds very grown up to me. They behaved very well, and didn't scare us at all. Kate got lots of pets, and I got a few.
He has been gone all day, getting errands done for his projects. He will be sad that He missed seeing LW and her sister. I will help Her fix dinner now. It looks like chicken, but it smells like beef. Hmmmm. Well, Toodles.

Good Cats
I wonder what makes Kate, Kasey and me behave like good cats. Sometimes He yells, but not very much, and He still gives us treats afterward. We don't have punishments. Our food is always there, and our litter is always clean. We have plenty of water. Those things happen whether Kate scratches the chair or Kasey gets on His keyboard.. So if we aren't afraid of getting punished, what is it that makes us be good? Of course, it depends on what you mean by being good. We mostly just sleep, play and eat. Cats that live outside chase birds and mice and squirrels, but they don't do it to be bad cats. They do it because that is what their cat-moms and cat-grandmas taught them to do. When Kate had her little kittens, some boys took them in the street for cars to run over. No cat would have done anything like that. Maybe I should ask the question why do human people do things like hurting little kittens? Humans have lots of rules and punishments. Some people behave because they don't want to go to a jail. Lots of them behave because they don't want to go to a place called hell. He and She don't believe in hell. They behave, but not because they are afraid they will get punished. She told me She behaves like a good person because it is the right thing to do, and doing the right thing makes you feel good. Humans have a gazillion more rules than cats. I heard that some of them are hard to follow. She was not supposed to not like His mother, but She tried and tried, and couldn't like her. Every day I am glad I am a cat, and glad They are good because it is the right thing to do. Kate can't help it that she is jealous, and Kasey can't help it that she doesn't like anything but Him and Auntie Heather.
Thinking about hard things like this make me sleepy. I must go and take a nap, now - because it is the right thing to do. Odd-yoo.

Questions Cats
This was the day that He and She would have gone to visit with their Thinking People. They have done that for years and years, before Kasey and I came to live here. At these meetings, they would talk about big questions that everyone was interested in. The meetings were at Sabra's house, but it turns out that Sabra'sPeople were having some work done on their house and couldn't have the meeting there anymore. At first, They thought the group would meet somewhere else, but everyone lives so far apart, and She has so much trouble in new spaces that everyone agreed to just give it up. That makes Him and Her very sad. She thinks it was helpful to Him to get out and visit with people more than He does, and She just loves all the Thinking People. She likes to stretch Her thinking, and She doesn't get much chance to do that. She can do thinking stuff with some of her computer friends. She likes when they can do that. If I had the meeting today, I would wonder why people keep shooting each other. That is a real puzzle to me, since cats only have claws for weapons, and Kasey and I only have claws in the back. It is better for us to puff up and yow. She would not shoot anybody, and with the way Her hands shake, I would not like to be around if She did. Who knows where that bullet would go.If She had Her way, only soldiers and police would have guns. That would have made a wonderful discussion, I think.
Well, It is time for me to go help Her with dinner. It looks as if She is creating something - and that could turn our either way. She needs advice. TaTa for now.

Free at Last Cats
The kind of day this was for people was a day to honor a brave guy. He was a particular color of guy, and people who were his color could not always do what other people could do, and he got people to look at things in a different way. Human people come in just a few colors, you see. We cats come in a gazillion colors, and no color can be the boss over another color. To get to be a boss in the cat-world, you have to be big and pushy, or have some particular skill, like being cuter, or purring louder. If you are an outside cat, it helps if you can catch bugs or mice better. But people thought for a long time that the pinkish color that They are was better than all the shades of brown that other people come in. He and She believe that that is silly. When They were younger, They went on walks, like a parade, to show that they think people should not be judged by the color of their skin, but in how they behaved and acted. Today's guy made some speeches about it. He said it should not be about fighting, but about being nice. Things are much more fair today because of him. Not everybody believes in that, which makes Him and Her sad. Our beloved President, who signed up today for another shot at being President, is a bit more tan than He or She is, and some people don't like him for that. He and She think that is just foolish. The guy whose day it is today would be very proud of the President, and also of Kate , Kasey and me, because we are different colors, and that doesn't matter. All we worry about is what space one or another of us is in. She doesn't like that there is no mail today because of the special day, but She is glad a lot of people got an extra day off. We are not having a special dinner because of this particular day, but I believe She is fixing chicken, which is OK with me. Be nice to each other, whatever color you are. That's my advice. Shalom.

Short and Sweet Cats
I do not have much to share with you today, dear readers, and here is why. Although the day started out just fine, and She started on Her to-do list, She stopped to eat lunch and put on the TV. It was one of Her favorite shows. As far as I can tell, it is about a guy who writes books, so for some reason, he acts like a policeman to get ideas for his stories. He and She both like it. So after She finished eating, and before She could go start on some work, I got onto Her lap and got comfy. There She was. Good story on TV and adorable cat (ahem) on Her lap. There went the rest of the afternoon. Now She has to fix our dinner, and I am all rested up. Kate is jealous, because Kate wants some lap-time as well. Just another peaceful Sunday. Tomorrow might not be much better because it is one of Their days. People don't have to go to work, and we will hear the President swear. At least that's what She says. Hope you got as nice a rest as I did. Cheers.

Ambitious Cats
Perhaps it is because I am kind of an old cat, but it seems I am not very ambitious . Neither is Kasey. But Kate is ambitious. She plays with all the toys, without any help from Him or Her. Kate likes catnip, and it makes her kind of a crazy cat when she gets a good whiff of it. When I was a younger cat, I thought I would like to chase birds and bugs, and play with the neighbor cats, but I didn't have claws, and so I was kind of limited. When Kasey and I were teenagers in cat years, He and She took us home, but They had to promise the Esspeeceeay that they wouldn't let us go out. Kasey has run outside a couple of times, but was plenty glad to get back in. Our ambitions changed to finding comfy spots to lie in the sun, or on Her lap or His computer table. If you remember, Kate lived outside about half the time before she came here to live. He and She don't let Kate out, either. One time Kate escaped and was gone for almost a week, but she came back in and has not been interested in going out since.
Do you know who else is ambitious? He is. He loves His projects, and is happy to work on them just as if He had an outside job. Do you know who is not ambitious? She is not ambitious. She used to go out and find nice places to eat, and shop and go on trips. She liked to go and see Her beloved Eddie. Now, She never goes out, except to a few places with friends and family. She wants to visit with everyone on the computer. She thinks She would like to write a book. He keeps after Her to do that. Do you know what I think? I think She is not going to write a book at all. I think She will just visit with Her computer people, play with Her cats and work Her puzzles. If She does ever write a book, I will surely help Her. Must run along now. Shrimp for dinner. Yippee.

Remembering Cats
When I think of how I learned so many things, my mind gets foggy about the time before the Esspeeceeay. I know those old people had my claws taken off, and I remember that it hurt, but it doesn't hurt now. There seems to be something about loud noises, and some scary stuff, but I can't put my paw on exactly what it was. I was very scared when the Esspeeceeay people put me in a cage. They were very nice to me, but there were other cats, and lots of unusual sniffles in the air. Kasey was already there, but she didn't care if someone chose her or not, because Kasey is like that. When He and She came to look for a new cat, They looked at Kasey and me. He liked Kasey, but She thought Kasey wasn't very friendly. She wanted a cat She could cuddle. Kasey didn't like cuddling then, and she doesn't like it now. Auntie Heather says Kasey cuddled with her, and she gets kind of lovey with Him, but She has never seen that side of Kasey. They liked how big I was, and how loudly I purred. When They could not make up their minds, the esspeeceeay lady said He and She could have both of us for one price. That was smart of them to do, because Her favorite thing is to get a bargain. He paid the money and the people put us into boxes to ride home. Booth Kasey and I were nervous about riding in the car, but Kasey made up her mind to escap0e, and without any claws or anything, she made a hole in the box big enough to get out of. It was lucky that She spotted Kasey trying to open the window, so She got hold of her and held Kasey on Her chest. If Kasey would have had claws, She would have been shredded. When we got inside, we both went under the furniture. It took a while for two scared, hungry cats to feel safe here, but now, all this time later, we love it here. We love Him and Her, and we are getting used to Kate. One day I will have to find out what Kate remembers. It all turned out just fine for all of us. Good night, now.

Sunshine Cats
We have had enough of the rain and bluster here at our house. Today the sun came out and we were all smiling again. I was up bright and early, in time to wake Her up for something nice. After She read the paper and played with Kate and me, She went to have something good to eat with Cleo'sMom. She was tickled to do that, because those ladies always have a good time together. She told me She ate a lot and drank a lot of coffee. Good, sunny stuff. He was worried because His friend told Him that someone might steal His idea. Yes, He was very worried, but He learned that if it happens, it won't be for a long time. Another sunny thing. Then She got a bill, but when She opened it, it said She didn't owe any money. . The sunshine brought us good news. Now, here's my favorite part. When the sun came through the window and made a nice spot on the floor, I went over to lie in it, with no problem at all. Aaaah, I loved that. I hope we have more sunshine for awhile.
She wants to have some nice, red soup for our dinner. She believes it will taste nice with some yellow muffins, so She is out there making them now. If you didn't know better, you would think She was a regular person today, with no problem walking and standing up. I will remember this day for a long time. Cheerio.

Law Abiding Cats
This law business is what has Him and Her all in a snit about. It turns out that people would argue about something the President does if he promised to give out free kibbles.
Right now, the President, just like Him and Her, thinks that there should be no more shootings like the ones where so many little kids were killed at a school a little while ago. I have learned a lot about this by watching TV and listening to Them. I guess this country has a rule book. She has one right on Her desk. One of the rules is that people have the right to have guns. She disagrees that the rule is about everybody, but there are a bunch of guys that insist it is about everybody and you can't change the rule. I don't like guns, and neither does She. He learned to shoot guns when He was in the Marines, and He doesn't think anybody should have a gun Just because he wants one. To Him and Her it is simple. Don't change anything but about how many bullets you are allowed to get. The guys who are against any rules say foolish things, in my opinion. One is that teachers should have guns in school so no one can come in and shoot the children. You should hear Her go on about that. Another idea is to have a bunch of police at every school. He wonders who would have to pay for that. One guy says that our state would pay for teachers to learn to shoot guns. She says it would be smarter to use that money for hiring the teachers who already lost their jobs. Whatever anyone says, there are guys who say just the opposite of it. It makes Her so sad. I cheered Her up and said Kasey, Kate and I would follow all the rules. That made Her smile. Actually, She laughed out loud.
If you want to know more about the law, watch TV like I do. You will see exactly what I mean. Peace out.

Catnip Cats
The mail guy brought the most marvelous thing today. The package was little, and we didn't pay much attention to it at first, but it had a kind of interesting sniffle to it. Kate was the first one to jump up and check it out. She sniffled it and pushed it with her paw, and then with her head. You can imagine how interested I was, because I had a shadowy feeling about the package. Kate and I jumped on Her and fussed until She opened the package. Inside were some little round balls, as big as a meatball almost. She gave one to Kate, who totally went all crazy-cat on Her. She danced with the ball, she pushed it, she licked it, she even bit it. I was fascinated, so I went over to check it out. Just so Kate wouldn't fight with me about it, I lay down right on top of the ball. Kate just looked at me with funny eyes. Kate's eyes are usually green, but now they were almost all black. I wiggled the little ball out from under me - and what do you know. It was made completely out of catnip! I played with it awhile, and then Kate had a turn. the ball got knocked under a table, but she got it out. So here's what I learned. This ball is made for playing, for licking, for biting and for swallowing. I am totally amazed. I found out She has one for each of us. Kasey hasn't seen hers yet, but Kasey loves catnip, which is a surprise to Him and Her. It is the only time you will see Kasey acting like a little clownie. What a surprising day.
As for dinner, She and Rocky'sMom went to a nice place for lunch and She brought home those tasty little bones. After She bites the meat off the bone, She gives it to me to lick. Nommmm. I expect we will have the nice juicy meat tomorrow. She didn't fix it last night because He forgot to cut up the onions. I hope you had a nice day, too. Chow.

Family Cats
You know we are sisters and brother here, Kate and Kasey and me. And you know we have cousins who live with His and Her friends and family. You may even remember that She has a brother, some nephews and some grandchildren. Did you know She also has cousins? One of Her cousins lives very far away, where our cousin, Buddy and his Mom live part of the time. She and this cousin have been good friends for longer than any of us cats have been alive. There is something funny about this cousin. At least it's funny to me. This cousin believes the exact opposite of what She believes about things like the President. Whatever She likes, Her cousin likes the other side. Where he lives most people believe like Her, and here where we live, most people believe like Her cousin. Even they have to laugh about that. Here is another thing where they were different yesterday. Her cousin works for the football people, and he worked at this big football game helping them follow the rules. The team from where he lives beat the team from where we live. She had to scold him about that. To tell the truth, She doesn't care about football games any more than Kasey does. Still, She thinks it is fun to tell jokes with Her cousin. She said it was his fault.
We are having a busy day today, and She is wondering about dinner. Should we have some more of that nice dinner we had last night? There is quite a lot left, and I think it is wonderful. Should She fix something different for a little change? He is voting for the same thing, and I am on His side. I'll let you know how it works out. Tune in tomorrow.

False Alarm Cats
My sisters and I were especially happy this morning when She woke up feeling fine. You see, last night after dinner, She started getting all full of aches and pains. She felt hot and cold, and He felt Her face and said She felt very hot. He tried to take Her temperature, but the thing that does that was not working. Even though it was kind of early, He told Her to take some medicine and get comfy. Her hands felt so cold to me that I snuggled to keep them warm, but it didn't work. She didn't want Her dessert, which was a clue right there that all was not well with Her. She said She felt Queezy, but I don't know what that means. She mentioned the flu, but He reminded Her that Her doc had given Her a shot so She wouldn't get the flu. It may have been the medicine or the snuggles, but She went right to sleep. She didn't work on Her puzzles. She didn't play with Her new game. She didn't watch TV. She just went to sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night, She woke up to use Her litter bowl and She felt better. She was cool and Her hands were warm. I thought it was a good sign. This morning, when She woke up at the regular time, She said She felt as if there had been nothing wrong with Her. Her skin was cool, Her aches and pains were gone, and She was smiling. It turns out She must not have had something really bad wrong with Her. She didn't need to see the doc, and She was ready for Her beloved coffee-the-drink. It has been a nice, normal day. and I am ready for dinner. She has some meat that has lots of juice on it. That's the part I like. He likes the vegetables that cook with the meat. I guess everyone will be happy tonight. Except for Kasey. She doesn't care. Bye now.

Satisfied Cats
Yesterday was puzzling and hectic, so today has to be pleasant. I was correct about Her sleeping until it was light. She probably would have slept longer if He hadn't had some trouble with His computer and started yelling at the fixing people who were on the phone. Let me tell you what She did about that. There is a bunch of pictures of a cat on the computer. His markings make him look very grumpy, so they call him Grumpy Cat. She copied a picture of Grumpy Cat and put it out where He could see it. She told Him that every time He got all grumpy, She would hold up that picture. He thought it was a funny idea - but when He is feeling grumpy, I'm guessing He won't laugh. There are two things that make Him grumpy. One is trying to solve a computer problem and getting nowhere, and the other is having His food out of balance. She told me that He has to eat at certain times or else He gets grumpy. I told Her I understood, but I am not sure that I do.
Once He was nice and calmed down, the rest of the day was very pleasant. We had raisin toast for breakfast, and a nice coffee from the new machine. The name of the coffee was Vermont Country roast, and She said it was very good. She knew it would be, because She has a friend that lives in Vermont. That is Buddy'sMom, and she is one of Her Eddie Grands. Buddy'sMom works in one place and lives in another. It is the Vermont place that is Her favorite, and She loved feeling like She shared that coffee with B'sM.
The thing that came in from the freezer today was chicken. I will enjoy that, along with some vegetables with butter. The butter melts and drips on the plate. I help Her by licking it off. Chicken has some nice juice, too, if She cooks it right. That would be perfect on a pleasant day like this.
So Poodle Tip, everyone. (Get it?)

Sleepy Cats
It was hard to figure out what was going on this morning, when Her alarm clock rang while it was still dark outside. I was sure it was a mistake, and then I remembered She had to take Him to the doc. She should have made a cup of coffee in Her new machine, but She knew it would make Him feel bad, because He couldn't have any. Waking up in the dark, no coffee. Kate and I were kind of worried that She would fall asleep and never get there. But no, we found out we were wrong when He and She came home a long time later. She got them there, He went off with a nurse, and She got some coffee. That changed everything, She told me. Pretty soon He was done, and He didn't remember a thing about the examination. He was smiling and Happy, so She was smiling and happy, too. The doc came and showed Them pictures of His insides, and said everything was just fine. She showed me the pictures, and you never could tell it was Him. By this time, He had not had anything to eat for such a long time that He was very, very hungry. She had some tomato pieces with Her and some nuts, so the doc said it was OK to eat them. I don't think He ever enjoyed tomato pieces and nuts so much in His life. That wasn't all. She wanted to go home, but He had His heart set on some food from a particular place, so They went there. After a little bit of the food, He decided to save it for dinner, so They got boxes to take the food home, and it is on the menu for tonight. It doesn't look like anything I would like, but I'll be fair and check it out before I turn it down.
It is an excellent day, the way it all turned out, so All of us are happy cats and people, but a little bit sleepy. Tomorrow She won't wake up until it is light outside, and everything will be regular. Toodle Pip.

Examining Cats
You would not believe what I saw when I looked out the window today. After looking at gray skies and wet grass, today I saw sunshine, and it cheered everyone up. I'm glad She is a little more cheerful today, because yesterday She was sad. I really don't like it when She is sad. Neither does He. Yesterday, He brought Her some ice cream because He wanted Her to smile. She just loves ice cream. Today He cannot eat anything that is solid food. He has a bunch of bowls of stuff He calls jello, and that is the best He can eat. He is really looking forward to getting that examination over and going to get something good to eat. Meanwhile, She is wondering how in the world She is going to get up in time to take Him to the examining place by the very early morning. Today He has to drink a bunch of medicine, too, that will make His insides clean so the doc can see what is in there. If there is something that isn't supposed to be, they will take it away. He will be sound asleep all the while, and won't feel anything. That is really good news, because if there is one thing He doesn't like, it is to be uncomfortable, which is what He would be if He was awake. You know this means there won't be any nice dinner tonight. Just jello for Him, and something easy for Her, because She doesn't want to eat something good and make Him feel bad. Maybe She should try some kibbles.
Anyway, She will not have to drive to that far-away doc in the rain. The weather guy says it will be dry, but it might rain the next day. On that day, I bet She will be sound asleep while it rains. I will let you know how He feels when His examination is over. I hope you are wishing Him luck.

Bad Weather Cats
Here where we live, the weather is usually warm and sunny. Sometimes it rains for awhile and then stops. Well for the last few days, the weather has been pew. It rains a lot, it is cold and there is lots of thunder. When I say it rains a lot, I mean night and day, big heavy rains that make you want to stay in the house. I am glad I always get to stay in the house, but when He and She feel like that, you know it is too much rain, cold and thunder. This is the day when She goes to have lunch with Her beloved Crones and other friends. Little by little, people said they might not be able to come, so She and Cleo'sMom said they would stay home, too. Maybe the Crones will meet on another day, but for now She is home and bundled up watching TV. When She thinks of Her friends and family who live where there is snow, She has to laugh about staying in because off rain. When She lived in the snow, She would go out in a blizzard to get someplace. Now it is hard for Her to walk from here to the living room. When the weather is bad, it is not because of the driving that She wants to stay home. It is because of the walking. Falling down is bad enough, but if She falls in a puddle it would be a problem. Oh, sure, Kate and I would laugh about it, but She would not like it. Kasey wouldn't care.
There is one more day after this when He has to get ready for having His insides examined. She is so sorry for Him. I am sorry for Her, because She has to get up very early so She can go with Him to the doc. She says that sleeping as long as She likes is the best part of being retired. The way things are going around here, I think we will need to have a celebration on Saturday. But for now, I will double check on what came out of the freezer. I bet it's fish. Fish, fish, my favorite dish. You see? There's another poem for you. TaTa for now.

Jeopardy Cats
It seems He is always amazed at how many answers She knows when They watch this show called Jeopardy on TV. She says She used to know the answers, but now Her memory plays tricks on Her and hides the right answer and won't let it out of Her brain. You have to answer in a short time, and you can hear Her saying I know that. I forget the name, but I can picture him, and stuff like that. He kept after Her, so tomorrow She is supposed to take a trial test. Now, She has no intentions of going on the show, even if She is lucky with the answers. You know She has trouble on planes, and She can't walk very well, but it would be nice to tell Him She tried. He would be so proud. Kate and I would be proud, too. Kasey wouldn't care.
I am having so much fun being out of the bedroom and out around the house. Every time She sits in Her chair, I give Her snuggles, and lie on her chest. She doesn't scoot me off, and i laugh to watch Her play Her new game with one hand. She tries to play it even while She watches TV. She is probably playing it right now, while I am here, writing today's story.
Our dinner tonight is going to be soup. I like soup, because when it is cool enough, She lets me have a few licks. Please don't tell LW'sMom, because She would probably gack up a hairball if she saw me do that. I think I had better go and help Her now. Later, gator.

Cool Cats
If you ever came to our house you would see something very unusual. In our kitchen there are two refrigerators. Sometimes people ask why and there are some good guesses. The 2 refrigerators show you some important things about Him and Her. Each of them have some peculiar things about them. To start with, He is very organized. He organizes His time and His space. Not so much His money. Well, She learned long ago that it wasn't important to change Him, just like He doesn't try to change Her. He likes to make His lunches for the whole week. He keeps His salad makings and His finished salad in one refrigerator, along with His creamer, His drinks and the million tomatoes and onions He always has on hand. If you look in there, everything is neat. Everything is where it belongs. If you ask Him where is His mustard, He can tell you from the next room, without even looking. She prefers to call the other refrigerator the family one.She keep things in a kind of order, but She says it is more random than He likes. She keeps most things on the higher shelves, because She is not good at bending. It is also hard for Her to reach way in the back, so some things get lost back there, and She forgets about them. Every so often, She has to find some odd things and throw them out. That does not fit in with Her attitude about not wasting things, so there is a bit more space on the back of the stuff She uses all the time. If you think this is confusing, just keep two words in mind. Organized and Random. It explains something about their closet, too, but I'll tell you about that some other time. I love living here, I don't care about them being weird. I'd rather live where there are two refrigerators than where cats cannot be cozy.
I don't have a poem about our dinner tonight, because it is leftovers, and I don't know any words that rhyme with that. O-ree-vwar.

Spots of Sun Cats
Today Kate and I shared a place in the sun-spots by the window. There was a bit of a challenge, but Kate blinked first, so I just moved in and got comfy. She is always so glad when that happens. I worry about Her, because She thinks everyone should just get along. Kasey, Kate and I are not friends, at least yet, but we are managing to get along. I have only known Her to not get along with one person, and that is His mother. I don't know the whole story on that, but that old person really got on Her last nerve. There are other people that She doesn't agree with, but I don't see Her getting in fusses with them. Here is what She told me. She says you can act civil. I wasn't sure what that meant, but I heard Her tell Him that if a person has class, that person holds herself in control. Since I have class, I don't start fights with the sisters, but I do know how to give a good stare, or a mean look. Why get in a hiss-yow fight when you can just stare, that's what I say. Kate knows what it's like on the street, so she is bit more threatening, but she is learning. That is particularly good. We like learning here at our house.
She is having a light dinner to meet His needs for light meals all week. I can say a poem about it. Shrimp and rice are very nice. I'll try to make one up for tomorrow, too. Be sure to read my story. Peace out.

Harmony Cats
Do you know what harmony is? It is when two or three sounds go together nicely and sound fine, instead of making you put your paw over your ears. I think three cats can live together and not sound like hissing and yowing. It is not something that happens all at once. Whether it is about people or cats, you have to know how to get together and not yow. He and She, for example, get along for a huge bunch of time. They do yow every so often, but they don't hiss and scratch. She has a quieter voice than He has, but don't be fooled. If She wants to yow, She knows how. I was having a nice snuggle on her chest today, and up jumps Kate, wanting some pets. We were very close, but we just looked at each other, and Kate jumped down. There was no fight, and later,Kate got some treats and a few pets from Her. I believe that sometimes fights are from habits. If you have been fighting for years, like Kasey and I, we will get along OK, and then feel like hissing for no real reason. She says people are like that, too. If we are all in the same place, and each of us wants attention right away - you guessed it. Yowing. But if we back away and wait our turns, things get better. The worst fights people have is when two of them want the same thing right away. When they get very upset, it is hard to reason with them. She explained to Kate. Sometimes you have to just back away and say we are never going to agree on who gets to eat first. Lets just take turns. If I were in charge of this place, that is how we would do it.
By the way, did you know there was pink meat? Not because it isn't cooked. It is cooked and it is supposed to look that way. It is what is for dinner tonight, and I will try some and let you know how it is. Toodle Pip.

Interested Cats
There were sure a lot of interesting things on Her computer today. She knows people from all over the place, and they sent Her some funny pictures and some serious things to think about. Every day She puts up a picture of some cute animals. They are usually cats, but She has put up otters and every so often, a little dog. If people say these are not important things to talk about, She says they are important to Her, and they should just get used to it. She says we all need some cuteness every day. Even though the elections are over, there are still people trying to get in the way of the President, and She likes his style. The President believes we should all take care of each other, and so does She. I heard Her say there is more to it than making everything fair. Some people so not think fair is the best way. Both He and She say that there are some who want a whole bunch for themselves and they don't care about others. I am kind of glad They think everyone should have some stuff, and nobody should have hungry cats and children. One of their nice friends came over to help Him with His project, and that young man thinks just what They do. It puts a smile on Her face to talk to him. Here is what She believes. Everyone should pay more attention in school so that they understand what needs to be done and don't have to wait until an emergency to do what is right..
I saw Her get pink fish and green vegetables out of the freezer, so I am looking forward to dinner tonight. I look forward to it every night, but that pink fish makes me drool. Have a good evening.

Snuggle Cats
Now that I can go into the living room any time I want, I am making up for all the snuggles I missed before. Every day, She sits in Her chair to eat Her lunch and maybe watch some shows on TV. I take advantage of that time by inspecting Her lunch and getting some snuggles. When She is done eating, I get on Her chest or Her tummy and have a rest. During some of this time I make it a point to get under Her chin and purr. There is nothing in the world like snuggles and purring. If you don't have a cat, then you can get the same feeling by being with your friends, or even getting messages on the computer. There is nothing better than knowing you are loved and cared about. He and She are lucky to have all those things. I do not snuggle with Him very much, but Kasey does. Kate snuggles with Her when I am someplace else. Maybe that is why we can all be friends.
In a bunch of days, He has to go and get His insides examined. If there is something wrong with His insides, the doc can find it and fix it before it makes Him sick. She used to get those things, too, but now She doesn't anymore. She says She doesn't want any more of these things they call procedures. She knows She won't get sick. When you get very old, you know these things, She says.
Since He has to be on a thing they call light diet for the next week, I am looking forward to some pink fish and some nice chicken. When He gets done with His examination, I hope there will be a some meat with gravy. I have to go and help Her fill the big black bag for the poor people. Sy-o-nara

Serious Cats
We have been doing a lot of thinking today. It reminds me how much She misses Her Thinking People. He and She used to go to Sabra'sHouse and talk about serious things. During the last bunch of days, there has not been enough time to get serious, but today was perfect for it. He had to go to one of His docs today, and it left Her looking at all the things She has to get busy with. There is the bag She has to fill for the poor people. That gets Her looking at all the many things She has, and think of where everything needs to go. She has some things She will never use again and She wishes She could find a good home for them. I have never seen Her use the pretty set of dishes in the cabinet by the mirror. I heard Her say She has some forks and things, too. She has lots of pretty jewelry in a cabinet in the bedroom, and She wants Mazie to have that, only how can She send it. She will make that a project, I guess. She has way too many clothes. Since She hardly goes anywhere, She doesn't need more clothes. There is a place over by where She gets Her hair cut. If She takes clothes there, they sell them and give Her some of the money. She says that all She needs is the TV to watch Her favorite shows, Her computer to visit with Her pals, and the refrigerator. Oh, and the coffee pot. Now She has two of those, but She would be happy with just one of them. I guess She would need the stove, too. Those things, plus soap for Her shower, a couple of towels and a pillow and blanket. Do you believe She will get rid of all that other stuff? Neither do I, but it is what we were thinking about today. I have had enough being serious for one day. I think I'll have a snack and a little nap. TTYL.

Lucky Cats
When She writes down what day it is, She writes 2013. A lot of people think that is not a lucky number, but we know it is going to be a lucky time for us. We are going to be happier cats all together, instead of in our bedroom closet. We are going to have new toys that Cleo'sPeople gave us for their Christmas. We are going to have a little more fresh food, because the cat-doc says we should eat more than dry food. Another thing is that She is looking more cheerful about how She feels. She will miss all those marvelous cookies that came in the mail, and that Rocky'sMom gave Her. She will try to eat more vegetables, like He does. Another thing I have noticed is that She and Kate need to lose those big tummies that come from not moving around as much. Yesterday, He and She had dinner with Cleo'sPeople and brought home enough for dinner tonight. It smells very yummy, but we will be back to sensible meals very soon. Maybe that doesn't sound very lucky to you, but it is the very best good luck for Kasey, Kate and me. It makes us happy when He and She feel healthy.
She is excited, too, that Her beloved Eddie will be having shows again. If Eddie comes to where he was before, She and Smudge'sMom will go on a road trip. They really like that. Another thing She hopes is that She could see Her beloved OperaGirl again. Good luck to all of us. Chow.
