Jolly Cats

Sometimes She gets so sad around here that we can't cheer Her up, no matter what adorable things we do. The first thing, though, is to turn off the TV and see that She has two red pills. Pretty soon, She starts to feel better, and it is partly because there is a lovey-dovey (ahem) cat on Her tummy. But there are days when She is so happy that we don't have to do anything special for Her. She doesn't feel Her aches and pains, and She can get out and about. Then Kasey, He and I are jolly as well. You probably want to know what kind of medicine makes the difference. It is Her visits with Hana'sGran for a wonderful lunch, and a meeting with Her beloved Cleo'sMom and Smudge'sMom to end up a great day. It makes me believe that having other people in your day is a big help, and having cats when you get home is a perfect ending. It is always best when He is around, as well. It doesn't work that way with Kasey and me. Kasey could not care less if anyone is around to admire her. It didn't cheer me up when Kate was here, either. I just had a few places I could go that I felt comfortable. One thing She kept telling me was that Kate wanted to be friends, but I didn't believe Her then and I don't believe Her now. So I have to find other things to make me jolly. There is my morning butter. That starts the day off right. Then there are the pets, the snuggles and the kibbles. Those things are very important. The brushing is another nice event, and a chance to lick Her plate gives a big boost to a jolly day.  It also helps to think about what isn't here. There is no dog, although we were happy to see our cousin Cleo when she used to visit. There aren't any scary little kids here any more. That makes me happy, but She misses those days. If you want my opinion, every cat should think about what nice things he or she has and feel happy every day when he or she is in a forever home where there are people who love him and her. Cats should also remember how important they are to keeping their people cheered up. Well, I have to go check on tonight's menu. Poodle tip. (get it?)
