Social Media Cats

Kasey and I learn a lot from listening to Him and Her. I often wondered what She did at Her computer all day, and how She found out so much news when She didn't go out very much. It turns out that there is a thing called Social Media. It is places on the computer where you can just talk to people as if you are there with them. She has friends all over the world that are people who love our Eddie. That's where it all started. Then She has friends from the church where She used to go. Next She added friends that were friends of those people, and now She has about a gazillion friends on the computer. The name for this is Social Media, because computers are media and being friends is social. Kasey and I know some of the friends, and She has told a lot of them about us. One thing very popular on the computer is cats, so we fit right in. She tells people what cute things we do (ahem) and she shows us some of the pictures. Our Auntie Heather is on there, and so are the mothers of some of our cousins. Her beloved OperaGirl is on there, and Hana'sMother, and sometimes even Hana'sGran. Smudge'sMom and Cleo'sDad give messages, too. It is kind of new, so people are still learning about Social Media and the power it can have. The friends sometimes take up a cause and so many of them post stuff about it that the big shots need to pay attention. She learns stuff on there, too. People tell about their medicine, or their recipes or some place they have been, and She just loves that. If people are sad, she tries to cheer them up. If friends get a good job or get married, She can wish them good luck. I wonder what She would do if She didn't have these friends. Oh, sure, She would still be friends with Kasey and me, and with Him, but we can only go so far. I am pleased that She has found a place to have so many friends and so much fun.
I saw some of those round things She calls ground steak thawing on the sink edge, so I look forward to some nice meat juice on Her plate tonight. Toodle Pip, chaps.
